Great place to spend time with your kids and loved ones

We're very enjoy the moment no matter how many times you visit & walk on the beach or the sand never gets old. The beach is not a place to work; to read, write or to think, It’s a place where all worries melt away in the summer heat as you lay under your beach tent or go swimming, fishing or seating on the boat is very peaceful as well.

We visited on a rainy day and it was not busy at all. The carousel is covered, so it wasn't an issue. There is a combination of moving and stationary animals. Also, for 5 cents a ride you can't go wrong.

Oh my goodness!!! What a joyful experience that was 😁 I haven't been on a carousel in ages!! So much fun!! The Carousel is 5 cents a ride or admission by donation, we gladly paid $5. It is a stunning piece of art and history hand carved from 1898 to 1905 a Charles I.D. Looff original.

Quite the piece of History, Still 5 cents per ride, the Horses actually have Real horse hair tails. It's amazing

Great park and beach. Enjoy the carousel and take a walk on the beach. If you aren't from St Catherines there is paid parking during peak season, but also free parking on the surrounding streets. Definitely worth a visit!

5 cents a ride on a lovely, preserved, historical carousel. A must do for young and old. It is in a pretty beachfront area ( or it will be pretty again once all the construction is complete) Ride the assorted animals then swim picnic and take a stroll in the little Main Street for some ice cream

Always fun for kids and adults. Beautiful sceneries, nice beach and playground. I love walking along the beach, they also have nice trails for bikes. Carousel is lovely and we'll maintained. Returning there regularly.

It's 5 cents for a carousel ride! You can't go wrong. It's all donation based and we put in some extra money. The only thing is if you are driving, you'll have to pay for parking. But you are also going there for the beach and they have a nice playground there for kids as well.

Absolutely loved it!! Beautifully restored. Operates entirely by donation. Nice playground for children and only steps to the beach on Lake Ontario. Restaurants within walking distance. Ample parking ( paid) port-a-potties on site

Grandsons really enjoyed the ride! We stood beside them on it, too, and had fun. Only 5 cents a ride, they will take any donations. We went on it 3 times. Short line for waiting.

A beautiful Museum with exquisite exhibits. All free too. The observation deck is the best way to view the ships in the lock. The Museum PA system alerts visitors when a ship is arriving. The Lacrosse exhibit and area to play was an unexpected surprise which is a real hit with kids. Check it out - well worth the visit. Thank you for providing such a fantastic Museum!

I enjoyed visiting the site and have a view of the Big Ship going through the Canal. The gate closing, filling water into the canal, and the later opening of the gate to allow the ship pass to the other side of the Canal. The lifting bridge was again another good memory of this trip. It is a nice place to visit. Thanks you.

This was quite a surprise, it was a very nice museum. It’s got a very nice layout, I spent about an hour here, it has a very nice collection of various things. It has some amazing models of the ships that use to pass through the canal, it has some vintage cars and firetruck as well as some very cool antiques. There is also the Ontario lacrosse 🥍 museum located inside. It really was very well displayed and preserved, I really enjoyed my time here. It’s on a donation basis, it has a very nice gift shop and a nice atmosphere all round. They also have an outdoor observation deck to see the canal as well as some really nice hiking trails to go on. I would definitely recommend checking out this hidden gem when in and around the St. Catherine’s / Welland area.

We took our 3 year old son here and he loved it. We couldn't wait long enough for the arriving ship to view it from the observation deck but, we will be back for sure. There is a playground on site and a walking path along the canal as well.

The museum here is great and free to see. The gift shop is nice. The boats going up/down the locks is a must see if you have never watched this before. There is a free movie about the history of the canal/lock system and a display about the history of the "Underground Railway" Good place to bring the kids!

Despite the rain I really enjoyed my time here at the museum and lock. There is a platform to get a view of the ships passing thru the lock. I was surprised at the size of the ships and how they just fit inside the lock. The museum was great and staff friendly and eager to answer questions. there is a gift shop and lots of informative knowledge. Plenty of parking. Donation based so please consider contributing.

Museum was free entry and staff were so friendly as soon as we stepped in the door. They gave us directions to where everything was and let us know a boat was in the canal so we could go onto the bridge and watch the process. Great little museum full of st. Catherine’s history Gift shop was hands down the most reasonable priced gift shops I’ve ever been in. Wasn’t planing to purchase anything but I walked out with a bag.

Great experience. Nice staff. Touring the Museum took just long enough for us to go up onto the observation deck to watch a few smaller vessels pass through the lock. A nice afternoon in the sunshine.

Great place! We saw a couple of ships come by and a volunteer notified us of an American warship coming that had to be towed in. She said it was a rare event. The only annoying part was that the fencing is so thick and high that it is difficult to get the best view of the ships. This place is also a small museum. It is free. It takes about 30-45 minutes to comb through it very carefully. It mostly includes a history of the locks system and lacrosse in Canada. The lacrosse section was quite interesting -- especially how the wood is formed and altered to make a lacrosse stick. They have a walking trail. We walked there and back to the bridge. It took around 20-30 minutes. Washrooms: Yes Electric Car Charging Station: Yes. See my pic. Bus Stop here: Yes, the bus stops in the parking lot. See my pic. Gift shop: Yes. I believe it had some snack items inside, but it definitely had clothing and toys. Parking: Free and lots of it. Picnic Tables: Yes, they are at the back of the building. Staff: A lovely volunteer there was so kind and helpful to us! Wheelchair accessibility: The museum is all on one level. There are no stairs.

It's a local museum at Lock 3 on the Welland Canal, and the fee is by donation. Please remember to donate as contributions keep these smaller museums going. The exhibits were good, but try to check the Lock timetables and try to schedule your visit around the ships going up or down in the Lock. They have a great viewing platform that is accessible by stairs outside museum hours but is mobility accessible during. They will also announce when a ship is coming. It's pretty cool watching the boats. Highly recommend.

The visit to the St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canal was truly remarkable. I was captivated by the rich array of artifacts and exhibits that have been carefully preserved there. The intricate models detailing the evolution of the canal's construction and its significance in facilitating trade left me in awe. We stumbled across this gem of a museum and were so glad we did! The museum may be small in size but it has a lot of interesting information. We were so glad our timing was right and we were able to watch a ship come in so we could see how the lock system operates. Highly recommend if you are in the area and enjoy history!

Absolutely amazing place to take your kids and teach them the history of the area. Lots of old cars and clothing from days past. History about the canal system and even a huge lacrosse exhibit with an interactive area for the kids to blow off some steam playing lacrosse.

A fantastic place lucky a ship was in the canal to see the water go down and ship leave.

A wonderful little museum packed with local history. Lots of interactive displays and engaging little games. The museum guide we met at the door was the kindest man I have ever met in my entire life. I truly enjoyed spending a few minutes with him. Fully accessible for people with disabilities and assistive devices…even the observation deck!!!! 10/10 would recommend to anyone passing through St Catharines. Great place, great people.

The museum is sort of a multi purpose building. I could not see many of the displays as events were taking place when we visited. There was a nice market in the upstairs on the Saturday. My wife got some spices. On the main floor there is information regarding the canal and the history of the canal. There is also an electronic board that gives eta for ships in the locks. In my opinion, the best part is the observation deck where you can watch the ships.

No tickets needed. Very awesome experience for kids to see wildlife. The zoo area is kept very clean and maintained very well. All the animals looked happy and kept lovingly. Nice grand walk to the pond and lake. Tons of ducks to see. The kids playground too has updated everything and is a joy for the young ones and their elder guardians alike. Parking does get full but can park along the road.

We had a wonderful experience visiting this farm. This farm is a full package of fun and entertainment for kids and parents must visit this farm. We would like mention the best part of the farm in brief : 1. The animals and their cute names 2. The kids play area is very neat and clean and they can have lots of fun 3. They trail surrounding the farm is beautiful and one must explore it 4. They have beautiful pond and ducks and my kids loved it 5. Wonderful place for young kids to play. Plenty of picnic tables for our lunch too. The farm is so well done with passionate staff. Plan to come here often to enjoy the trail past poop island. Lol

We were pleasantly surprised to find Happy Rolph’s Animal Farm with free parking onsite and no entrance fee (donation by choice). This was a low obligation way to get the kiddos out seeing animals (no big entrance fee/whole day commitment that you'd end up doing for other zoos). While there aren't a ton of animals (like you'd have at the bigger zoos), there are certainly enough to enjoy up close and personal. My kids LOVED their playground! It was a tractor theme with plenty of interesting things to climb, touch and do. The other lovely feature of this farm is all the green space! Bring some balls, a Frisbee, bubbles etc and take advantage of the large areas to just roam and play. Pack a lunch because there are plenty of tables and shade so you can eat on site. Bathrooms too! Another must: Stroll the 911 remembrance walk with a gorgeous view of the lake. Plenty of ducks & geese to see and make sure to spot the gnomes along the way.

My family just returned, and we had a wonderful time there today. It is amazingly clean, and well-maintained. The animals look healthy and happy, and cared for. The staff were friendly and helpful, and allowed you the freedom to roam the grounds. There were lots of animal displays, a very large brand new state-of-the-art playground for little kids, and several walking paths, including a tribute to people who had lost their lives. My only complaint was that they didn't have a donation box for me to leave some money to help with the efforts. What a great discovery!

Beautiful farm! Free entry and everything inside is free as well. Kids loved the playground, well kept animals, scenic walk to the water which was breathtaking, and the trees add more to the scenery! Definitely will go again!

Was pleasantly surprised at how kid friendly this place was! My gf, son and I went in the evening as his naps have been later and it was nice and shady. They offer food cups for the ducks ( and geese) for $1 cash. ( DO NOT FEED THE OTHER ANIMALS) the park is extremely cute and does have some accessible parts to it. The look out points across Lake Ontario we’re beautiful. The best part about this hidden gem is its free! You can make a donation though. Only downfall is the parking lot is on the smaller side and I heard of people getting ticketed for parking on the street or other properties nearby.

I can't believe this place is free, such a cute initiative, the animals are very well cared for, they have cute stuff up for Halloween right now and also for $1 you can get a huge cup if duck feed to take down to the lake around the corner. Donations are welcomed.

My wife and I took our granddaughters here. They are 5, 8 and 10 and they liked the animal part of the park. They loved feeding the ducks and geese. After a small hike we played in the park. It was partially in the shade which was nice. The park was very well maintained. Great place for little ones.

If you want to relax, come and visit this place. Well-maintained grass, lots of picnic tables, a beautiful playground for kids, animals for them to see. A beautiful trail for kids and adults to enjoy. I love the view of lakes from the waterfront trails. The best is the no parking fee and no entrance fee. The Washroom is clean and available.

Happy Rolph's Animal Farm is an absolute gem for families looking for a delightful day out. While the parking space may be limited, don't let that deter you from the fantastic experience that awaits inside. The first thing that caught our attention was the well-designed playgrounds, providing endless entertainment for the little ones. They had a blast, and it allowed us to relax and enjoy the serene surroundings. The farm itself is truly charming, with a diverse array of animals to interact with. It's evident that the animals are well-cared for, and their happiness adds to the overall joy of the place. Our kids couldn't get enough of the petting sessions! We were pleasantly surprised by how clean and well-maintained everything was. The staff clearly takes great pride in ensuring a pleasant environment for visitors. Moreover, the abundance of seating areas throughout the farm made it easy for us to take breaks and enjoy the beautiful views. Overall, Happy Rolph's Animal Farm is a must-visit attraction for families in search of a fun and educational experience. Despite the limited parking, the farm's many offerings make it more than worth the trip. We'll definitely be coming back for more memorable moments. Highly recommended! 🐾

Such a lovely place to visit with younger kids. The animals and grounds are well cared for and it’s such a relaxing walk by the pond to feed the ducks. Great for strollers. We usually finish off with a packed lunch and play at the park. Highly recommend. Nicole -Fort Erie Home Group

A very pleasant experience for a mid-week, late-summer afternoon stop! Large, well-kept grounds with lots of outdoor seating. Ordered our salad/sandwich lunches from the outdoor bistro and, while waiting for it to be ready, took at seat at the outdoor patio for a reasonably-priced tasting. The server was handling quite a few tables at the same time, however, he was very friendly and very good about explaining the wines and staged the tasting experience well. Lunch was quite good & fresh - while not inexpensive (though seemed to be in line with other places in the area)!- and it was a really pleasant time just relaxing outside in the fresh air with our wine and lunch. We stopped in at the store before leaving to purchase a bottle and some butter tarts to go - and yes, the butter tarts (which we ate later in our hotel room) were very, very good! I won't rate the wines because I'm not much of a connoisseur, but I did quite like the Premier Cuvée tasted as part of the flight. Enjoyable experience.

Great experience and very cheap wine tasting! The free art gallery and samples in the cafe were also nice and unexpected. Seating outside is nice when the weather is good. Good first experience and went back a second time already! The Riesling Icewind is unlike other ice wines I've had before.

Great winery to visit! Wine tasting was great with knowledgeable individuals providing insights into the wine. Live outdoor music for those enjoying their tastings or just eating/drinking on their patio! Small art studio and a ton of artwork on site to make it that much more unique. Also a bakery with some really good butter tarts (rated Canada's best butter tarts in 2017).

This winery had a lot to offer--and I understood why its rated the best in Ontario. There is a large selection of wines, so you're guaranteed to find something you like. For an easy to drink, summery sparkling wine, I would recommend the Rose Cuvee. Though the whites, and reds were all pretty easy to drink--it could convert a non-wine drinker. We were advised 2020 was actually the best year for wines, so recommend trying those when you go! The staff were all knowledgeable and friendly. The food was also very delicious and presented beautifully. When we were done, we wandered through the bakery and grounds which were sprinkled with a lot of sculptures and art. It was a fulsome experience for all the senses. There are countless wineries in the Niagara-On-The-Lake region, but this one definitely is one of the best.

Super cute and nice winery! Visited the grounds after checking out the annual Handmade Market nearby. Very quaint and aesthetically pleasing. Lovely tasting room, store, bakery and art gallery! The winery also hosts different styles of patio seating outside to hang out and enjoy the ambience.

Splendid experience at 13th St Winery during the ice wine discovery pass tour. Plenty of parking, and the grounds are pretty large as they have several buildings, an outdoor patio, and outdoor art exhibit. The ice wine tasting took closer to the back -a choice of an ice wine or cocktail, with a food pairing. What's neat is that they also have a small bakery at the side with different homemade products plus others. Definitely worth checking out.

A lovely place to spend the day. Well maintained and friendly staff. The outdoor seating is just beautiful. Walk through the space and you will get to see loaded grape bunches. The places shut down by 6:00pm so plan accordingly and they do not give a wine tour.

So much to do here. We didn't even try the wines but I'll definitely be coming back for that! But there's a resto patio and a wine tasting building, and a shop with an amazing bakery (the cookies and butter tarts are so amazing) a gallery as well as a whole outdoor path of exhibits. So cool!

We had a delicious lunch at the bistro. They accommodated gluten free request. At our wine tasting, Amanda was a wonderful and knowledgeable guide. She is passionate about wine and this winery. You must taste the ice wine and the Riesling. The Sandstone Gamay was also excellent. The bakery and shop offer a great selection of items including mouthwatering butter tarts. You must explore this winery.

Ate at the lake house and they recommended Foreign Affair winery which was INCREDIBLE! They also recommended this place. Came in wanting to do a tasting and buy wine to take home to the US. Never once was I greeted or offered help. Even stood in the line for a while and my Dad who was with me had the same issue. So we just decided to leave. He was wanting to buy wine also, lost business that I don’t think they could even care about. Extremely disappointing! I attached a picture which shows no one in the room, was one lady at one point but with the employees in the photo and maybe two other employees you sure would think you’d be offered help! Go elsewhere

Stopped in at 13th Street today, to pick up their delicious butter tarts. Grabbed them, along with this mini carrot cake. WOW - this little cake is amazing. The cake was moist and full of flavour and the cream cheese icing was a 10/10. Want some amazing baking. Stop in at 13th Street. A niagara gem.

Visited yesterday and was so happy we did. This winery is spectacular. The grounds are beautiful and filled with sculptures. They had live music (Sat afternoon), food, lots of seating, a bakery and art gallery. It was busy but the ambience was wonderful. You could easily spend a lovely afternoon here. All ages, kids and dogs were roaming the grounds. Will definitely be returning!

Love this winery! Great wine, and am especially fond of their bubbly. The property is lovely with many things to do even if you’re not a wine drinker. There’s an art gallery on premise, and some art scattered throughout the grounds. There’s also a market with artisanal goods and food, a bakery (you must try the butter tarts) and if you are outdoors, dogs are welcome! Our little doggy loves stopping by!

What a lovely place to visit. The property is magnificent. They have a wonderful bakery where you can get many gifts and also fresh baked goods. Make sure you try the butter tarts! They are truly delicious. They also have a nice little bistro outside for some lunch on a patio. At the time I was there they had live music and it was such a great addition to the ambiance. If you're visiting Niagara, this is a must stop on the winery tour.

A very picturesque winery! They not only have wine, but also serve food, and there is a bakery and store on site. The winery also features an art gallery, as well as sculptures and art pieces on display outdoors. When we went, there was also a musician performing live. The atmosphere was really nice, so I can see how people would enjoy visiting or having an event at the winery. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!

This place had a rocky parking lot but was free to enter. There were some historical buildings here, as well as Decew Falls. My wife and I didn't stay long here but the surroundings was nice. There may be a way down but either we didn't really find a way. Overall, I recommend paying this place a short visit if you are visiting St. Catherine's.

Great piece of history about the Mill and its operation. This is run through the volunteers and donations so be sure to have some cash on hand to help them keep this bit of history alive. We met a lovely man named Terry who gave us a tour of the mill ( you got to check out the turbine) and you can get a great look at the falls from a window in the lower level. You can also jump on the Laura Secord Legacy trail a few feet away or the Bruce trail. A great spot for a weekend day trip in the outdoors.

Dam was closed and no falls around the mill. There’s a falls on the opposite side of the cliff. Comfortable walk but you have to follow the blaze. We stayed on Bruce trails marked with white. There are also Laura Secord legacy trail and trans Canada trail. Very scenic. Free parking if you’re going during high season come early.

Nice and picturesque area for historical features and access for hiking around Decew Falls!

Excellent place to visit if you’re interested about history.

Although parking is an interesting experience this site is well worth the inconvenience. The history is remarkable considering the site consists of only a few buildings. But the details that are presented on the dozens of plaques and the extremely dedicated and knowledgeable volunteers will provide you with a memorable experience. It would indeed be a shame if the levels of government can't get there act together to provide more water to the site. Oh and the hiking trails are well worth investigating.

Beautiful spot for a hike and if you can make it down to the waterfall you'll feel like you're in another country. There isn't a lot of parking so the earlier you can get there the better

Morningstar Mill's Decew Falls trail is a hidden treasure. Winding through lush woods along the Niagara Escarpment, it provides a serene hiking experience. The trail's highlight is undoubtedly the breathtaking Decew Falls, a picturesque cascade that rewards hikers with a mesmerizing view. A perfect blend of history and nature awaits here.

It's a beautiful mill, very scenic location. A gorgeous old house of the DeCou family, a gorgeous waterfall and lovely trail. I wouldn't recommend this trail for families with children as there is a steep incline on one side, and it would be unsafe. We went on cold Saturday morning, and it looked beautiful. We saw many couples with their dogs on the trail. I am sure this location looks beautiful in summer and fall.

Love places like this... Not only are waterfalls a fan favorite of mine but I like places that also involve some extra history and this place for sure checks off both. We enjoyed our stop here even though it was moving into the evening by the time we got there so the inside of all these places were closed. It was still cool and certainly worth the stop. If we had more time I'm sure we could have spent all day here. Check it out for sure if you are in the area! If you would like to go inside just make sure to check the open hours before going :)

Excellent historic tour. Guide was fantastic with explaining the inner workings and seemed to really enjoy letting others in on the history.

What a little paradise for kids of all ages. Be sure to check out the antique Merry Go Round and learn about the history of this real treasure. The beach is perfect for kids. Lots of sand and shallow entrance. A great way to spend the morning or afternoon.

Now that the construction of the pier has been completed last year,it's renovation is amazing. More parking spaces and more walkways and alongside the walkways is better lighting to enjoy the walk at night before park closes for the day at 9 pm. The Lakeside Carousel is a delight for all ages,closed for the winter season,will open in the Spring.

Such a blessing to be able to walk this path, such a beautiful park. Please don't ruin it by building all over it. We need to keep this sacred

Clean beach, large covered area with many picnic tables, lots of room for many families. Large bathrooms with change rooms and family washroom. Ice cream food vendor and beautiful pier. Really shallow for a long ways very safe for young children.

Nice park except there should be a sign at the entrance to the parking lot that it's a pay lot. They like to give out $50 tickets if you don't see the meters. Also the bugs almost carried us away.

Best spot of st Catharine’s to chill and see good people and have a pleasant time. Many volleyball players during evenings & summer time.

Good walk out the pier, it is longer than expected. Wide new smooth walkway all the way out. Nice sandy beach with grassy areas to lay out and picnic. The old Carroseel is always a treat for young and old. Public wash / change rooms available on site. Lots of pay parking. $3 per hour.

Great little spot! It’s a nice place to visit. The beautiful long piers. The beach. The friendly people. Also on Tuesday evenings there is live music with a handful of food trucks. It was a fantastic experience!

A very nice beach that was not crowded. Lots of matured big trees to provide shade. The wide and long sandy beach was relatively clean but unfortunately the water was a little murky due to algae all along the shore. Otherwise it was a perfect family picnic spot or sun bathing. There was also a carousel and ice cream kiosk. There were outside showers for washing up that is next to the washroom for changing. There was a large parking lot and payment for tickets can be made either cash or credit card.

July 9, 2022 Excellent place to enjoy either alone or with family. Based on my experience as a family with 2 children, this place was phenomenal. It was our first time visiting the place and we had an incredible day, although I must mention that parking is a problem. Below I detail about the place. - Parking: It seems that it is made to make fines because you can pay a maximum of 3 hours and if you do not return before 3 hours there is already a security person ready to fine you. We had planned to stay all day so we had to set the alarm to come back every 3 hours to pay. (This is not just in this place but in various places in Ontario) . There is a parking permit but for residents in the area. . Free off-site parking, check their website . Machine does NOT accept DEBIT or VISA DEBIT cards. . $3 per hour For more help call to Customer Inquires - Carousel: It is beautiful and has the whole story in frames with photos that are hung on the wall. It is in good condition and transports you to times of yore. . 5 cents a ride . Donations are accepted . Staff will not make change - Beach area: It was clean Sand is nice and soft Unguarded waterfront - Picnic table pavillion rental or book, check their website - Family washroom available - Ice cream, hot dog and more. - Volleyball nets - Lighthouses (2) Overall great place.

We absolutely love this park/Beach. We've been coming here annually. The kids enjoy the 5 cent carousel and the playground. This time they even had a cute beach shop with food and ice cream. When we eventually got to the beach, we had a blast despite the murky waters. We walked the pier, took in the views. This place guarantees a beautiful and memorable summer day!

Took a drive to Port Dalhusie April 29th. Weather was dismal but it was great to walk around ..not busy at all. There is a large parking lot and parking is $3 hr with 3hr max. The Pier itself is beautiful and is around 0.5km walk one way woth lots of seatung areas in yhd middle if you need to rest. There is a beach off the park with change rooms and bathrooms. There are picnic areas as well. There are lots of trails that extend to about 10km with lots of parks to go through. This would be a great place to be all day..great restaurants and coffee Cafe about 10min walk from parking lot . Also Lakeside Park Carousel will open for summer. A must visit ! Can't wait till then 🙂

Beautiful beach with park. They have a free carosal aswell . Tons of swings for kids. Just loved it. Parking fee also reasonable. Just no bar bq allowed tho

Came across this scenic beautiful winery by chance and it was such a beautiful experience. The setting is just gorgeous. The outdoor seating is stunning with amazing live music playing. We had a couple of glasses of wine but no food. Would highly recommend a visit here. See attached photos.

Friendly staff with a good variety of wine. The building and winery is quite old, which lends to its unique charm. The winery is known for its Baco Noir and I also found their Riesling to be quite good as well. Tasting comes with a nice bag of popcorn which adds to the experience. Will definitely visit again when in the area.

My stop at Henry of Pelham Family Estate Winery during my cycling trip was an unforgettable experience! Not only did I find a serene oasis to rest, but I was also pleased to discover the abundance of parking space available for guests. The outdoor seating area was the perfect spot to take in the breathtaking views of the vineyards and surrounding nature. Even though I didn't try their service, the ambiance and beautiful setting alone made it worth the visit. I highly recommend this winery to anyone seeking a peaceful retreat with ample outdoor space to enjoy. A true gem in every sense!

Charming and relaxed atmosphere at Henry of Pelham. Great band 🪘🎸 performing outdoors this weekend. Lots of food options, plus wines 🍷 by the glass and tasting flights. Bonus: they even had corn hole and some other lawn games to keep you entertained.

Family run vineyard and stunning Baco Noir - a very “real” authentic feel to the place with staff who genuinely care about great service.

A beautiful winery with lots of outdoor seating. Large selection of wines and taste a group of three wines for only $15 with popcorn! The popcorn is a nice treat for the kids too. Well worth the trip!

We always loved going to visit Hernder and had many great times there. So sad to hear of the devastating fire there this weekend. Our thoughts go out to the family, employees and everyone who loved going there too. A tremendous St Catharines landmark has been lost.

Last night TCG Niagara and the Kesh Group (local real estate brokerage and mortgage brokerage) hosted a meet & greet/ appreciation event at Hernder Estate Winery. Words cannot express how perfect the evening went. A huge thank you to Angel for everything that was done to make it perfect. The venue is beautiful, wine was excellent and service was incredible. The event had over 100 in attendance and feedback from all was extremely positive. Thank you again!

Usually after a devastating fire and loss some people would close up shop and accept the loss. NOT Hernders. The resiliency of the owners and staff continue to make one of Niagara's premier wineries just that, a veritable force to rise from the disaster and move forward. Events are being planned and held. Plans to rebuild in the works and new and better area to help the customers are to come. Way to go.

Was there for a wedding! Amazing food and staff!! Atmosphere was a winery experience! The main room was a little chilli, but nothing alcohol couldn’t fix!!

Tasting room open and welcoming, like the staff. The wines luscious and beautiful, like the outdoor seating area. The attitude of the place hospitable, generous and down to earth, like the people and places you most enjoy. Bev served us complimentary samples with a down home twist and a twinkle of humour - then we enjoyed lunch brought from home with a bottle of their Reisling on their sun-splashed patio overlooking a covered bridge and vineyards as far as the eye can see. You can't get any better than that, period.

Angel and all her staff are wonderful. I got married there and I'd do it again. Maybe with someone different this time. Everyone loved the food and of course the wine. Thank you so much for a beautiful memory.

This is probably my favourite winery. Their wines are great and very well priced. The lounge and event rooms are beautiful, with exposed beams and fireplaces. The owner and staff are the friendliest around and are always very helpful and accommodating. If you're thinking of stopping somewhere to taste wines, stop here. If you're planning a wedding or event, consider this place!

My husband and I had our wedding here last 2 weeks ago and are incredibly happy with how everything turned out. From our first tour of the venue till we picked up our decor the day after the wedding Angel was nothing but amazing! She was incredibly professional and an insane help during the entire planning process. On the day of the wedding, Penny was just outstanding. She made sure everything went perfectly and was such an amazing support during the day and night. We received so many comments from family and friends about how beautiful the venue was and how incredible the food tasted - and we couldn't agree more with them! It was the most perfect day at the most perfect location with incredible staff! Also, our bartender Christian was simply the best! We would highly recommend Hernder to anyone looking for a perfect rustic wedding at a beautiful vineyard!

Visited on a Thursday. Thought I'd support local. Bought samosas, sausages, meats, cheese, Nanaimo bars , bagels and hot spicy jelly. The market lacked in vibrancy perhaps due to the pandemic. It's not a huge place either once you see it from the inside. Further more there were two vendors doing samosas and two other doing cured meats. the market needs more energy and variety. Samosas did taste good. Yet to try the other goodies!

Great small town atmosphere, every vendor is incredibly friendly and an excellent selection of products available - fruit, vegetables, food, baked goods, artisanal products, etc.

The St. Catharine's farmer's market is a great place to visit and discover local vendors. There are shops selling produce, baked goods, food ready-to-eat, an assortment of cheese, and other items. We purchased food from Niagara Samosa Factory as well as Tamales Mexico. We then stopped at Limited Distilling and purchased a bottle of Peach Moonshine. There were other vendors we wanted to purchase from, but they only accepted cash and we did not bring any due to Covid-19. The Covid-19 protocols are well established, from the moment you enter. There is typically a line outside before entering and upon entry you are asked to use one of the sanitation stations. Shoppers are asked to refrain from touching items unless they will be purchasing. The market is also set up with the vendors well spaced out to allow for social distancing and there is a one-way path through the market for shoppers to follow.

Lovely market that happens every Tuesday and Thursday, as well as some holidays. I like to explore and visit whenever I'm passing by and I always find it a breath of culture and intrigue in st. Catharines.

I wasn't expecting that there is a lot of vendors.I am glad that I visited the farmer's market.A lot of choices from fresh vegetables to food.The samosas and mediterranean food as well as empanada( Fiesta Empanada), baked pastries such as tarts and pies. We have to support our St Catharines farmer's market.A lot of varieties. They are well organized and when it comes to safety they have a line to observe social distancing and everybody is wearing their mask.Well done to all the vendors and the organizers of this market.

Terrible service!!! Recently we decided to have lunch and try Rockway Vineyards Patio as it was a nice day and we thought to enjoy a meal on the patio. What a mistake!! We arrived and entered the foyer and were greeted by the hostess. She promptly directed us to the patio and told us to sit wherever we liked and we would be attended to shortly. We chose a nice seat toward the middle of the patio with an expansive view of the golf course. I would estimate that there were probably half a dozen tables full with 2 servers tending to the guests. We sat down and waited for about 10 minutes and saw the servers serving other guests and not even coming over to greet us to at least acknowledge our presence. After another 5 minutes passed we decided to give the servers 5 more minutes to be greeted or acknowledged and then we would leave. Wow, a whole 20 minutes went by with no greeting from a server, hello, or offering a glass of water or menu. How disgraceful and unprofessional is that? The 2 servers did not appear overly busy or stressed, just inattentive to a couple of new guests who thought to try this establishment for the first time. I must say I am extremely disappointed and wonder how this business stays in business. I must add, we did find another establishment close by and were treated promptly and professionally enjoying a great meal. Too bad it was not at Rockway Vineyards.

That was the only open winery with a working kitchen I and my 3 girlfriends were able to find after long hike at Bruce trail on Sunday, and we had a lovely time! golfers were focused on the golf course, we enjoyed wine tasting!

Great location. Came here during Icewine Festival in January, and we got a Vietnamese sandwich with great ice wine. Probably the best overall experience of the 6 winery.

We were welcomed by Michael and Bonnie on a quiet March day and spent an incredible time tasting a variety of wines and sharing stories from east and west of the Welland Canal, to golf to fishing to the wonderful resident Labradoodle, Thunder. The staff provided something for each of us based on our own preferences,, then proceeded to the back of the fridge for special treats for us. It was the perfect way to end our day in Niagara. Thank you Michael and Bonnie for your warm, genuine company and generous offerings.

First time I've played this course and it wasn't too bad. I love the grass here, fairways are mint. No complaints at all about the grass and grounds crew - great job!! One thing I definitely did not like and it will keep me from returning is the darn BIRD BANGERS!! You cannot get 60SECONDS straight without hearing a 12 gauge go off in the next field. Very un-relaxing while trying to golf. Not sure if it is a season but that was the worst I have ever heard those things go off and next to a golf course is beyond distracting. Great course and Great grass!! Just super loud the whole time playing. 4Stars.

We came for the Niagara Ice Wine Festival and got a wonderful traditional ice wine and a full duck confit and brie sandwich that was so tasty. Beautiful open room and 360 views of the golf course.

We came for the Ice Wine festival in 2022 and it was an amazing experience! Possibly because it was a Friday only 15 minutes after they opened, but everything was super smooth, everyone was amazingly helpful and the food and wine simply divine. We also booked a firepit ahead of time and ordered a meat platter (comes with everything in the picture plus some wine which we took inside at their tasting bar) which was cozy and delicious! Their winter menu was also quite intriguing and we came back on the Sunday for lunch, unfortunately due to the high winds that day, it knocked the power out right as we were about to order. Kind of bummed but not their fault at all. They gave us a voucher for a tasting experience the next time we visit, which was so nice of them! Hopefully the bison burger is still on the menu the next time we make the trip here, because we'll definitely be back. Annoyingly, Google won't let me edit one of the photos which is rotated 90 degrees. But definitely a great place to get introduced to the wine experience in the area!

Great golf club with the best pro shop staff in Niagara. They run a great league, amazing member events, and there are plenty of great golfers to keep the competition level high. Course is well maintained and pace is usually good, particularly for a semi-private.

The layout of the course is pretty good and it's still in pretty good shape. Some of the greens were slower than others but all in all they were in decent shape for this time of year. They were a little top dressed but not aerated which was nice as a lot of courses are doing both this time of year. I would definitely recommend it as well worth your while to put on your courses to play list.

A quiet place for a tranquil walk. Simply sitting on the bench gazing into Lake Ontario calms me down. Besides, the lighthouses live up this pier.

When we were planning out our day of what wineries and sites we wanted to visit, we saw that this was close by so we decided to stop. We weren't sure what to expect. There isn't a whole lot to do there, but we really enjoyed our time. It is a pleasant walk down to the end where the lighthouse is. The weather was perfect and the scenery was gorgeous! Many sailboats were out on the lake and ducks and geese are in the water along the rocks. A great relaxing way to start a day. Picture perfect!

Pretty quick little stop out of season. You can get to two lighthouses. Probably very packed in season. Pretty little waterside walk.

Easy to medium challenging tracks, neat stuff to discover, but really no chance of getting lost. Great any time of the year! Trail running, the best of hiking and running! Mixed terrain, alternate side trails and with access to the Bruce Trail, this conservation area will not disappoint. Add more kilometers when you park outside the gates and walk/run an extra 2 km (return). If you prefer running on these rugged, swampy, and gritty trails to the cool, scenic colors, you'll want to run on these trails! The trails are hilly, rocky and narrow with options to take further wider footpaths on the main trails. Family friendly depending on choice of trails, however, not stroller or mobility aid friendly. Bring water and be prepared for "natural on site facilities". Alternately drive to the entrance but very narrow with muddy roads and be watchful for pedestrians. It is very refreshing from the 'magic' conservation areas and instead take in the rugged beauty of the cliffs. Find Laura Secord's trail and imagine what it must have been like when you walked 30 kilometers in the War of 1812 to warn James Fitzgibbon that Americans

Refreshing! The air felt so clean and fresh from all the surrounding trees. The trails are somewhat bumpy. Interesting rock formations along the paths. Nature is a sight for soar eyes. It's so revitalizing!

Explored a nice, two mile loop on the trail! We went later in the day and enjoyed the golden hour peaking it's way through the trees. I highly recommend this well defined trail for a quick hike.

Lovely trails to hike in the woods with a small pond to relax and watch the birds. Some sections were very muddy due to recent rains. We heard frogs in the area. The only downfall is it's near the highway so not as quiet as expected. We did run into a few patches of wildflowers.

Great winter hike. Stay on main road or use side trails, perfect distance for an afternoon hike with kids and dogs.

Beautiful spot! Nice scenery! Good amount of walking! Lots of trails that you can enter through using the main road. It loops but also it continues if you do the Bruce Trail.

We parked at Woodend parking lot and crossed the street to start our hike in the trail. Lots of different trails to check out around the area. We hiked to the blue ghost tunnel which was a really neat tunnel to check out. It was about 4km total home from car to blue ghost and back. I'm sure there is a shorter way if you know the trails better. We really enjoyed the hike and checking out the area. I've ran here many times but mostly on Bruce trail so it was fun to check out some side trails. There is lots of parking but it fills up fast so I would recommend coming early if possible. We went around 10 and took the last spot.

A nice forest conservation area that's a short 3-min drive from the Outlet Collection at Niagara and from White Oaks Conference Resort and Spa. Parking on site is free and is mostly parallel parking on both sides of street/lot. There are a few trails to choose from and there's lots to see. Different elevations so be prepared for a lower and upper level hike as you're next to the escarpment. The views are amazing and the trail we took was a loop so there wasn't a need to double back.

A bit icy for a hike end of December at -2C due to rain in the previous two days after a huge snowfall. Still very enjoyable walk in a brisk winter air. Parking was not an issue, as in the winter it’s not that busy, people just parked on the both sides of the access road. Bruce Trail (category Protected areas of the Regional Municipality of Peel) passes through Woodend Conservation Area in Niagara-on-the-Lake, with some nice views of escarpment. I personally think that the trail was well marked, although I saw some comments that marking is not that great. Overall nice visit.

It's a great park with swings, slides, and learning activities for kids. Definitely has play structures for kids of all ages. Public restrooms and the library bathrooms are available. Picnic benches are also there. I did 4 star only because during lunch time it gets busy with teens from the highschool and sometimes they aren't great at sharing the park with little kids.

It was pretty busy today because the weather was gorgeous. Lots of kids running crazy. This park is wonderful it has lots of equipment which is a good thing there was nobody fighting for something to go on cuz its plenty big enough. Can't wait for the splash pad to open the kids love that!! . The park is always nice and clean.

This park is probably one of the best in the city. Large big kid and little kid play areas, a splash pad in the summer. Public washrooms. Walking paths to walk your dog and garbage cans to throw out your trash. The pool/library are here too. Kids play soccer, ample parking, and kids and parents are pretty cool, too. Love this park!

Beautiful and well-maintained park. Great splash pad; however today was our first time there this season and it looks like the concrete on splash pad has been painted or is new. In any case, many of the smaller kids were sliding and falling down because it was so slippery! Can it be roughened to prevent a potentially dangerous fall?

The park is large and very well maintained. The grounds and all the play areas are clean. There is a lot of space, a lot of equipment; great family gross motor activity.

Great park. Only drawback is the length of the main play structure. Hard to rush to your kid if they are on the opposite side. Otherwise great park.

A very nice park. I went here for many school events and I never have any complaints. Not only does this park have a playground and a splash pad, it has a lot of open space for sports as well. There are two large soccer fields as well as benches and many open shaded areas.

Great place to spend the day with the family. Big playgrounds; clean; splash pad; picnic tables; soccer fields; tennis courts; and a quiet grassy/ wooded area for walk with the pups. (Dogs should be on a leash. Always.) Has a gorgeous sunset in the fall. Lots of space for activities.

Came here to walk the dog while in St Cathrines. Very pleasant given it backs on to residential properties. It was surprisingly full of kids skipping class, utill we realized there was a high school across the street from it. Otherwise, a great place to go decompress mid-day.

THE PARK HAS A LOT OF SPACE, PARKING LOT AND IS WELL MAINTAINED AND CLEAN. NICE PLACE TO GO FOR A WALK, TAKE KIDS AND DOG FOR FUN. I RECOMEND IT TO EVERYONE.

Boring, extremely busy in the summer. Gross musty teenagers like the kids from Secord go and cuss at ur children and smoke weed in the kids play park -_- Also a toddler came up to me and barked at me and called me it’s mommy..!! AND STINKY RESTROOM

Amazing black and Christian history right here in Ontario! While the part of town has clearly seen better days, the chapel is well maintained. Lots of signs explaining the history of the church, its role in the community, and the connection with Harriet Tubman. A pretty close walk to downtown St. Catharines, it's certainly worth the visit even if you don't make it inside.

An important part of North American history. Sad that the statue of Harriet Tubman is missing.

I literally pass by here every week and had no idea this was Harriet Tubman’s church. The city of St Catharine’s needs to do better in publicizing this - it’s a shame so many people do not even know this gem is located here. I’m smh and in awe at the same time.

Very nice church. Has some intriguing history. My favourite part is the Harriet Tubman statue at the side of the building in the back patio seating area where the benches are. I love the architecture and just the overall vibe this property has. Definitely a nice place to relax for a bit, or just enjoy as you're walking by :)

Great african American church to visit in Canada! Once attended by Ms.Harriet Tubman. So much history at this church..check out the downstairs area for great photos . The 2 ladies that give the history of the church are awesome.

The park it's self is very nice. However, avoid the dog park. It's better to walk your around the grounds instead. People are rude and don't have any control over their dogs. Also why would you take a female that is in heat to play with other males that aren't fixed. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Very scenic, quiet place. There is a large fielded area, tons of picnic tables, barbecue grills, a tennis court, park and tons of free parking. There were lots of trash cans in the area. Lots of trees and little accessible trails. There are washrooms as well as clean outhouses. There’s some vandalism on the outhouses and buildings.

Nice trails. Lots of options to explore or take an easy walk. Very peaceful. There's a large playground structure for the kids as well to get some energy out.

Tons of green space! Newly paved roads that will be great for rollerblading, lots of benches, picnic tables and shade. Playground is fairly large and located by a large parking lot. Didn't have a chance to go down the dip and up the hill to check out the dog park - next time. 😉
