What an amazing way to spend the day! Lots of interesting exhibits representing the history of Canada from its earliest inhabitants to present day. We started on the main floor where the First Nations people exhibit was. Then moved to the second floor which had a variety of items including a whole section dedicated to children’s television programs. The third floor had detailed information about our population expansion from 1867 until present day. We could have stayed there for hours, it was very interesting.

Great museum inside and outside. They have a beautiful native collection. We spent between 2-3 hours and saw almost all of it. I'm not sure it's that much interesting for kids. The garden and view just right outside is beautiful. One of the most beautiful places to enjoy cherry blossom season.

Very interesting museum, I did not get to go through the entire museum because of the time limit. I was distracted by everything I passed and spent too much time on the first floor and had to rush the other floors. I would definitely go back here again next time and try to manage my time better so I could see the entire museum. I'm pretty sure I missed a lot of interesting and amazing displays. 😭

This museum is a must see on Ottawa. It is equally as interesting for adults and children. I would recommend spending at least two hours here. The exhibits chronology go through Candian history and are a great mix of artifacts, videos, and hands on exhibits. Everything is very interactive and it tells a great story of the country. The exhibits also go into individual stories which bring the content to life. Very well done and worth the price of admission.

An amazing museum where you can learn something new every time you visit. They have an awesome children’s area with lots of exploratory and learning activities. My kids love it. They also have an in-house cinema with a super giant screen and comfy reclining seats where you can watch documentary movies. As of May 2023, tickets cost $21 (adults), $16 (students), and $14 (children aged 2-12). Children under 2 don’t need tickets, and you save when you buy a family ticket ($53 for two adults and two kids). If you live around Ottawa or plan to visit often, it’s best to buy annual membership for $65 (a single person) or $125 (two adults and four kids). With the membership, you also get admission to the Canadian War Museum. Plus, if you visit Toronto, your Museum of History membership gives you free access to the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM).

We were able to walk from the Hilton Homewood Downtown suites over to the Museum. We found the museum to be above expectations. The Grand Hall was beautiful and full of Indigenous Totem Polls as well as a walk through interior area full of interesting artifacts and information. There was a truth and reconciliation area which was very powerful and really made us think about how far we need to go to help wrong the past choices. There was just a lovely flow to the whole museum and provided everything we could need. We highly recommend it.

An incredibly beautiful museum — inside out. The collection is magnificent and well structured. You will find the most extensive exhibition of the real totem poles in the world here. The history of Canada from First Nations to XX century is breathtaking. A must-visit venue in Canada, Gatineau, Ottawa. The architect of this masterpiece is a genius!

Very large and interesting, interactive, but still for the kids it was boring after one section in the regular museum part. We all thoroughly enjoyed the kids museum part. It's possible to spend a whole day there easily!

The Canadian Museum of History was the highlight of our trip to the area. The diversity of Indigenous culture represented was more than I expected. It was also amazing to see the inclusion of Indigenous representation from my own community.

This is a fantastic museum for both young and old. I have been as a child when my parents took me and I have not brought my own children here twice, when they were 7 and 5, then again more recently when they were 10 and 8. There is a lot to see and do, and you'll likely get tired before being able to see all of the exhibits, so I would suggest blocking off a full day. The exhibits are very well put together, and while there is lots to read, there are also plenty of interactive activities to keep everyone engaged. Both times that I've been with my kids, there was more then enough to keep them interested without needing to visit the kids section of the museum, which is still worth visiting as there there is still interesting things to see and do there as well. There are IMAX films available, which are great and are screened multiple times throughout the day. There are also rotating special exhibits also available, which are also amazing, but of course time-limited. It's a nice way to see something different though if you go back for another visit. A café is available to purchase food, or you can bring your own lunch/snacks and seating is available. I would highly recommend a visit here. On both recent visits I've had to Ottawa with my family, this has been a highlight.

Pretty good roundup of the history of our country from the first native peoples through to today. Covers everything from totem poles to Bob & Doug Mackenzie. Such an odd and interesting shaped building. Lots of volume of space, fewer exhibits than you might expect. Certainly worth seeing if you are in the area. Not many other museums devoted solely to our country.

We used to take the kids years ago and mainly spent our time on the second floor (kids area) which was very nice and very educational. However, we visited recently and decided to also see the third floor (Canadian History) and LOVED it. Frankly, I plan to go back and take my time looking at all the exhibits and historic details... So much to see and read about. The first floor entails exhibits on the early Canadians and Indigenous culture, and unfortunately I did not have the chance to see all of them. Highly recommended and one of the best museums to visit while in Ottawa.

All you need to know is that the only reason The Getty is famous and this magnificent work of architecture and museum is obscure is that LA has the best PR in the world. Enjoy serene views and the best of history at this impressive masterpiece here in Gatineau, Quebec.

Visiting this museum was a truly fascinating experience. The exhibits offer a comprehensive historical journey, spanning from prehistoric times to the modern era, providing a captivating insight into the evolution of human civilization in Canada. Particularly striking were the displays of arts and crafts from the indigenous community, offering a profound and amazing encounter with their rich cultural heritage. We also gained valuable insights into the historical interactions between indigenous groups and early settlers as well. The museum offers a specific section designed for children, although regrettably, we didn't have the time to explore this area. One doesn't have to pay additionally for this section as well. The beautiful building itself adds to the allure, providing a picturesque view of the Ottawa River and lush green surroundings from the Alexandra Bridge. The front yard offers a stunning view of Parliament Hill, although in our case, this view was somewhat spoiled. Another highlight of the visit was the collectible shop, boasting an extensive collection of souvenirs. The prices were reasonable compared to other museums, making it a beneficial stop for those interested in shopping for memorable keepsakes. Additionally, there is a café just outside the premises.

There exhibits are nice but not as interactive as the War museum. We got our tickets to include the childrens museum, which was fun. But i really love the view outside the park and the totem poles.

Beautiful museum. The building itself is stunning. We got free passes from our local library (thank you!). We spent about 2-3 hours there and most of that time was spent on level 1 (which is where our interest is). The 3rd level we went through much quicker. Limited interactive exhibits for children but our kids ages 6 and 8 really enjoyed the museum. Parking cost us $13. We went on a rainy long weekend on a Saturday and it didn’t feel overly busy. Would have liked to spend more time walking around outside. Could easily spend a whole day at this museum. Pack a picnic and sit outside and enjoy the view of parliament.

We enjoyed our visit. Our daughter had a blast at the Canadian Children museum. We did all the other exhibitions. We also loved the Ciné+ , blue whales and the Sea lions.

Informative place to start your adventure in the Gatineau park and surrounding areas. There is an outdoor washroom available and picnic tables. Parking is limited for the popularity of the place. There are restaurants and an ice cream shop within walking distance close by for some food and refreshments.

This is much more than a Park it's kinda a conservation area at the foot of Gatineau Hills. Nice parks and sitting area, Cycling 🚲 trails, Tracking Trails and Walking trails. It's has parking stops every 500 meters. And every site has a completely different face of this huge area. I have explored just 3 spots. Alot to be explored. 1. Welcome Centre....... This offers the best Cycling tracks and Cyclist community. About 10 Km is the next stop. 2. Gatineau Park Visitor Center.......... It has parks and Tracking and Walking Tracks. 4 km is the next stop. 3. MacKenzie King Estate. It has pink lake and the residence of 10th PM of Canada 🇨🇦 He has served 3 different terms 1921-1926, 1926-1930 and then 1935 to 1948. It's has very nice monuments and historic buildings.

The park is beautiful and this visitor centre was very informative with the exhibits. The staff was friendly and helped me find trails to hike in the park.

Nice place to spend a few hours with the kids. The kids museum isn't as big as I was expecting but my kids enjoyed the visit. Kids could play around with a lots of stuff, a mini grocery store, baking pizza and making sushi, it was fun!

This is good for younger kids - I'd say younger than 5. It does have lots of 'spots' but at the same time it is smaller so doesn't take a whole day. It's crowded and lots of kids running around.. plan to combine this with an IMAX movie which is included in this ticket price. Parking is available however it's a windy and odd shaped spaces lot... Bring your smaller vehicle if you can

Awesome place for kids. My daughter loved this place!! We stopped for only few hours on our trip to Ottawa but that wasn't enough time to spend at this place. So much to do inside for the kids. Staff is just amazing and very friendly with kids. Clean washrooms for changing kids also! Overall this place deserves all the stars.

Amazing children's area for learning and playing, my toddler had so much fun here! And the worldly theme made me feel like I was traveling too.

It’s a great place. It’s a museum for children. I wouldn’t cold it a children’s museum in the way we know them, this is more a museum that it’s meant to allow kids to explore, play and engage in history. I think it’s a great concept. I think it’s not for every kid. They can get easily bored since there aren’t very high energy play. It’s very interesting nonetheless. I do think is quite small. I expected more. But again, great concept

If you have young kids, the Children's Museum is fantastic. There's so much variety of shapes, colours, and activities all built into the series of buildings and structures representing many different countries and regions. The buildings are kid-sized, so watch your head if you are over 6' tall. We tried taking them into the rest of the Museum of History, but that lasted maybe 15 minutes before they wanted to go back to the Children's Museum.

Very cool experience. The entire museum was cool for my 3 year old (history of cartoons was the special exhibit). Well thought out museum and the experience was top notch for all ages.

My son (20 months) and I had a fantastic time. The museum had tons of activities for him, we will definitely need a second visit to try everything. My only feedback would be that it would be nice to have "toddler times" for younger visitors because the bigger kids nearly trampled him a few times! With that said, going early in the morning gave us about an hour without school groups. :)

Nice place for kids. Very chaotic and noisy in a cheerful way. Many things to keep little kids busy having fun. Limited options for older kids though. Would love to see some interactive games or scientific building toys added for big kids.

The kids love the Children's Museum. A lot of things to discover as they show different places and cultures. The kids are exploring, making crafts, building blocks, and having a lot of fun.

Starting off with a major hint, Thursdays are FREE!!! Learned that accidentally!!! WOW...what a great area for kids, it is far bigger than the picture indicates! We spent 3 hours!!! And it wasn't enough!!! The kids get engrossed in one of the many activities, and time flies by!!! Plus...incredible staff!!! 👍🏻👍🏻 Been many, many places for kids, and these guys were the best hands down!

My daughter loves this museum so much that we visited Ottawa primarily to visit this. We will probably visit again

Hands-on Children's museum!!! 5 star well deserved. Went there with a 2 & 4 yr. Perfect ages to be a part of the 15 or so different sensory type activities. Fun for the parents or grandparents too. 3 hrs or full day...it's a need to go back again activity place. The only downside is the price to get in...$22 per adult and $17 per child. I'd suggest if planning multiple visits, get the Family membership at $125. Worth it! They offer a discount for parking if a member.

Must see when visiting Ottawa. The ticket includes access to both the history and children museum for everyone in the family. The history museum is extensive while the children museum are fun for kids under 10. The only complain is the parking. It takes a while to get in due to single line. The parking lot is extremely narrow with a lot of poles, and some parking spots are wasted. When leaving the building, there are long line ups at the payment machine too.

Wow! Busy for sure and lots of fun. Went on Remembrance Day - it was free. The kids loved it. That bus has been there forever!

It is a spectacular place for the whole family, very well maintained. The staff is very friendly and guides you when you need it.

There could be some upkeeping that’s done to make it even better (benches, water fountains, lighting posts, picnic tables, etc.) and replacing some of the older fixtures with something that’s not corroded by winter

Jacques-Cartier Park proved to be a winter wonderland during my recent visit. The park offers an array of exhilarating activities like tubing, skating, and snow sculpture, making it a perfect destination for winter fun. The abundance of shows and kid-friendly activities added to the overall enjoyment. Highly recommended! Looking forward to exploring the park's summer offerings, confident it will be filled with fantastic experiences.

I feel the Gatineau side of the Ottawa River doesn’t get as much recognition as Ottawa. The views are actually better from this perspective due to being able to see the skyline of Ottawa. Jacques Cartier Park is a great space for that. Lately though it’s been off limits due to the maintenance requirements. Once open again it will be a pleasant space to enjoy and take in the environment. 👍☺️

Had a view of rideau falls and had a picnic. Although there was no playground for kids or we couldn't find it. There is 2 hour free parking available. And photos in Google maps are from old events that happened way back don't get fooled by it.

It's free, but no free parking unless you go to the tourist information kiosk as you arrive in Gatineau to get a free parking pass. This pass allows you to park on side streets where there is normally a 1 hour parking limit for as like as you like. We parked on Marston St. Enjoy!

My family and I went to this park to enjoy the winterlude festival. There were so many activities and it was lovely to be present there. The snow tubing was worth the wait and that was my first winter activity. Volunteers are doing a great job! Keeep it up guys. Wait time for each activity is bit longer other than that it was great. Music was fun too and I played drums kinda thingy with two twins who were playing it. Such an amazing experience!!!!

My favorite park in Ottawa. Spring and fall bring the best mushroom harvest in Ottawa. Relax with whitetail deer. Wild Turkey everywhere. The biggest Alqonqin sediment in Canada. Great carp fishing. And a spitaculer wooden ship wreck.

A beautiful park to visit. We enjoyed walking at voyagers pathway enjoying the scenery of Ottawa River and Ottawa from the side of Quebec. The river taxi ride was an amazing experience.

There is a very small parking area and when there is any event or festival happening there is no spot for parking or nearby places. It's better if you come here by public transport or by taxi there are many winter activities that you can enjoy

We went there for Winterlude festival. Very well organised. So many fun activities to do. Must try is the Snow Tubing. You can also enjoy the live music with lots of hot food and coffee. Great place for kids. I would recommend going there on weekdays as it is difficult to find near by parking for weekends.

Great activities for Winterlude 2024. The kids had a blast and the wait times were reasonable. There were food trucks and porta-potties on site and everything was clean. Only negative was lack of parking, but that's pretty much par for the course around that area.

Winterlude at Jacques Cartier park is best for kids, so many games and entertainment to spend an amazing day outdoors with the family in winter..

Beautiful and quaint estate with rich history. There are trails with a lake and ruins located behind the estate too. The garden is very peaceful and colorful in the summer. You can go inside the estate and tour it yourself for free. The staff here were extremely friendly and helpful.

Beautiful gardens well maintained. An old style country home with ruins throughout the well maintained gardens. Home once belonged to Canada's Prime Minister. Easy walk around the grounds for all to enjoy. Winston Churchill visited so should you!

Was good to do The Waterfall walk in Gatineau Park, which links to the Lauriault trail that goes to the Estate. This trail brings you out on part of the large front lawn of the Estate.

It’s a nice place to chill. You can bring with u ur own food. Relaxing place and peaceful. There is a clean WC. Walking distance from car parking 5 minutes. Then you can hike down a lake (7 minutes) by going to the right. Or you can go to the left (20 minutes) and you reach a waterfall - great hiking with some ups and downs.

Simply beautiful! Plan an entire afternoon or a short visit, either way you will not be disappointed! Has absolutely beautiful colors in the fall! If you plan to visit the waterfall make sure to bring appropriate hiking gear it is a steep climb down the final stretch to the waterfall!

Beautiful place with strong spirit of that time. Flowers around the place make you want to sit there all day long. And from June 22 you can go there for free every weekend by bus, so you can enjoy the place even if you don't have car.

Nice place to visit. especially people intrested in hiking the trails are good to visit. bother morside/kingside place are free to visit and staff can give you tour even if ur the only person at that time. washrooms available on site. parking is $10/3hr (I guess $2 for half hour or so). Gatineau parkway is open only Wednesday and weekends. so don't get sad if you visit estate on weekday. Just keep going forward down the road (sign board is correct), take a left on chemin swamp and then right on chemin Barnes and then left again with the sign of parking. this route isn't on Google maps but it goes through private property common roads. Even though you change to this route the Google maps still won't show you this route you kinda have to figure it out.

What a lovely national estate and park! We had originally wanted to go hiking in Gatineau Park before realizing the lots were full. We found this nearby and it was such a wonderful find! A wonderful blend of nature, and history! There are two main areas to visit here: the cottage area and the actual house. Both are by the lake and a short walk away. The historic buildings have been maintained and many are open to come inside and take a look. We loved learning about the history of the place and glad it's open to the public to explore. The house area includes a sitting area outside for lunch, a gorgeous garden which includes the ruins that were built as part of the landscape. A short stroll from the house also takes you to the Abbey ruins. A great place to spend the day and there's plenty of green space to have a picnic and enjoy the outdoors! There's also a hike to the waterfall, which wasn't that spectacular to set expectations. A good hike nonetheless to explore the grounds.

This is a wonderful place to visit and only about 25 minutes from downtown ottawa. This is a nice mix of visiting a country estate, hiking in beautiful woods, and a great history lesson. You get to walk in the footsteps of this former prime minister, as well as visiting world leaders like Winston Churchill and George VI. Parking is $6 but you can stay as long as you would like. The hike to the waterfall is very scenic and not too arduous.

It is amazing to know prime minister William Mackenzie King. He has definitely had a good connection with the nature. You can also see the transition from simpler life when he bought the first two acres to the newest resort. The information provided on the placards show some less known aspects of his life. It was amusing to know the effect of the death of his family members and his belief in the afterlife.

Nice scenic estate that connects nicely to the Waterfall trail. Good place for outdoorsy kids to go for a walk. Always see engagement or wedding photoshoots here.

Wonderful time capsule. I only wish the ground floor of the main house were reconstituted to its state when the late PM was in residence. The guides were so informative and friendly! I am already excited for my next visit!

Definitely worth the stop. Lots of history. The house guest house and gardens are absolutely beautiful. The ruins of sort were really cool. The history behind them is even more interesting. We did the hike down to Mckenzie King Waterfalls. They are nice but nothing too crazy.

Small and the water is not very clean. Nice set up, kids area lots of parking . Close rot the city few trails that are boring. I didn’t really like it much the beach is small .

Nice and relaxing spot. Signs say no dogs yet online it says dogs are allowed. No idea which is which.

Indoor bathrooms during the day, outdoor shower for rinsing, great place for the kids and there is a few barbecues available so bring your brickets.

Beautiful park. In winter it is amazing. You can rent winter equipment with the library card.

Great place for an early morning hike. Lots of birds and flowers to check out.

Beautiful scenery. Great paths to walk. Go and enjoy.

Peaceful surroundings. Clean lake with soft sand. The facilities are new and well equipped. Free rentals of canoes, kayaks and pedalos for card carrying locals. I try to come here every weekend in the summer. We’ve seen deer, eagles, birds, frogs, lily pads, and dragonflies. Life guards monitor lake, and bbq areas have charcoal pits available. Super family friendly. ❤️❤️❤️

We visited the place twice, two days apart. We loved the trails, both O/T1/T2 with hills fun for kids to tackle, and a long loop on E, which is mostly flat. The rental gear was comfortable and the staff was very friendly.

Beautiful, well maintained trails for walking, snowshoeing, fatbiking or skiing. Even on weekends it isn't overly busy.

Free activities with city Gatineau Access Card. Prices included in one of my attached pictures. Clean place. Lots of parking. Great indications with maps can be found all over the different sites.

Nice park/trails and lake. Winter time, XC ski, snowshoeing, walking, ice skating on the lake, and little toboggan/ sledding hill. Summer time, hiking being by water (not certain if swimming in lake is advisable or not) picnic, playground.

One of the best places for a walk or cycle in Gatineau that's not within Gatineau Park. Plenty of easy trails for mountain biking for those with less experience and plenty of walking space, with the chance of encountering deer as you walk. Unfortunately there can be broken glass here and there, and some patches of poison ivy so be mindful of straying off the trails.

Great activities for Winterlude 2024. The kids had a blast and the wait times were reasonable. There were food trucks and porta-potties on site and everything was clean. Only negative was lack of parking, but that's pretty much par for the course around that area.

Beautiful peaceful lake. This is the part you will see on your way to Carbide willson ruins walking the trail to the right side of P11 O'Brien if the official gate to the ruins is closed. It isn't a beach but I saw people swimming in the lake and under the waterfall when we got to the ruins. The other part is the beach that you can access parking at P11 O'Brien as well walking the small trail leading to the beach. You will find washrooms in the parking lot and a change room at the beginning of your walk and more washrooms when you get to the beach. Heads up washrooms weren't that clean and paid parking is 13$ for the day as I remember. It is safe for the children as the water is shallow then starts to get deeper after. Lifeguards are present but you still have to be by your children side if they are so young. Water was super clean and nice. Worth a visit!

IMO, the gem of Gatineau Park. I can’t believe a lake so pristine is so close to Ottawa. It’s about a 60-90 🚲 ride from downtown and the shuttle comes here too I believe. Both O’Brien and Blanchet beaches are awesome and have their own vibe. For 🚲, O’Brien is much easier as you don’t have to go down the rest of Meech Lake Road (that portion is like cycling on the surface of the moon!). The main downside is cellphone reception totally sucks there. You’ll barely get 1 bar (if you’re Rogers anyways).

Such a nice lake to paddle or kayak.. but very, very busy.. good luck getting in and finding parking. It's strange cause it is such a large lake, but once you get in, it's totally worth it

Super unique and beautiful trail that is also dog friendly! The ruins are very cool in the middle of the forest. With exploring and the “hike” takes about 70 minutes total. The area around the ruins can be steep/ slippery so be careful.

Beautiful lake , has a small beach close to the main road. Paid parking is small but enough long trails with lots of uphill and down hill. Be careful some of the secret beaches there are nudist areas so be ready. The trails and lake is beautiful it is in Gatineau park 30 min from Ottawa dt . Old nice towns near by with l Food and ice-cream .

This is my favorite place to go for hiking and swimming. This time we saw bear, he was so busy digging something so he didn't care about people surrounding him.

It is such a beautiful place! There are many paths to walk on and the scenery is just breathtaking! I highly suggest this place!

It is very small park like it has only 4 tabels but nice area . I had a lot of bugs bothers me so if u come bring something to avoid the bugs

Gorgeous park with beautiful views. It has a lot to see, monuments, information and sights. There could be some upkeeping that’s done to make it even better (benches, water fountains, lighting posts, picnic tables, etc.) and replacing some of the older fixtures with something that’s not corroded by winter

Jacques-Cartier Park proved to be a winter wonderland during my recent visit. The park offers an array of exhilarating activities like tubing, skating, and snow sculpture, making it a perfect destination for winter fun. The abundance of shows and kid-friendly activities added to the overall enjoyment. Highly recommended! Looking forward to exploring the park's summer offerings, confident it will be filled with fantastic experiences.

I feel the Gatineau side of the Ottawa River doesn’t get as much recognition as Ottawa. The views are actually better from this perspective due to being able to see the skyline of Ottawa. Jacques Cartier Park is a great space for that. Lately though it’s been off limits due to the maintenance requirements. Once open again it will be a pleasant space to enjoy and take in the environment. 👍☺️

Had a view of rideau falls and had a picnic. Although there was no playground for kids or we couldn't find it. There is 2 hour free parking available. And photos in Google maps are from old events that happened way back don't get fooled by it.

Worth the trip to see this. Nice even well kept walking paths throughout so easy to get through. It's free, but no free parking unless you go to the tourist information kiosk as you arrive in Gatineau to get a free parking pass. This pass allows you to park on side streets where there is normally a 1 hour parking limit for as like as you like. We parked on Marston St. Enjoy!

My family and I went to this park to enjoy the winterlude festival. There were so many activities and it was lovely to be present there. The snow tubing was worth the wait and that was my first winter activity. Volunteers are doing a great job! Keeep it up guys. Wait time for each activity is bit longer other than that it was great. Music was fun too and I played drums kinda thingy with two twins who were playing it. Such an amazing experience!!!!

My favorite park in Ottawa. Spring and fall bring the best mushroom harvest in Ottawa. Relax with whitetail deer. Wild Turkey everywhere. The biggest Alqonqin sediment in Canada. Great carp fishing. And a spitaculer wooden ship wreck.

A beautiful park to visit. We enjoyed walking at voyagers pathway enjoying the scenery of Ottawa River and Ottawa from the side of Quebec. The river taxi ride was an amazing experience.

There is a very small parking area and when there is any event or festival happening there is no spot for parking or nearby places. It's better if you come here by public transport or by taxi there are many winter activities that you can enjoy

We went there for Winterlude festival. Very well organised. So many fun activities to do. Must try is the Snow Tubing. You can also enjoy the live music with lots of hot food and coffee. Great place for kids. I would recommend going there on weekdays as it is difficult to find near by parking for weekends.

The best parc I have been to in both gatineau & Ottawa. I actually moved to Aylmer just because my wife loved this place. The restrooms are always clean and the beach is wooow. I walk buy almost every day.

Parc des Cedres is very beautiful, especially for kids since there is many activities from playing swimming riding bicycle playing football etc... The view for Ottawa river is incredible what a great relaxation.

Absolutely the best place to take pics of the sunsets. There is a public restroom in a building near the beach area. There are a few picnic tables underneath the trees in the shade. Great when it's hot out. There is a bike/walking path that cuts through the park and is easily assessible for everyone including those with physical challenges. There is a playground nearby for kids of all ages to come and have some fun even structures for parents to interact with their kids. The park offers so much space to come bring everyone and enjoy quality family time together.

Parc des Cèdres is a beautiful park where I love to take walks. It's peaceful and has lovely trees and flowers. Walking there helps me relax and feel happy. If you're looking for a nice place to walk and enjoy nature, I highly recommend Parc des Cèdres.

I’ve lived in Aylmer for a while now and I don’t feel that I visit this area enough. It has plenty to offer throughout the year. Summer time of course is fun when the weather cooperates and you can cross country ski in the winter. Weekends are pretty packed so prepare for that if you plan to visit. The beach isn’t half bad at all. Too bad they didn’t allow food trucks of sorts to set up. It would add some ‘flavour’ to the area ☺️. All in all a nice place to come and chill. 😎

A beautiful place to relax with a great view. You can enjoy your day outing on the beach or paddling/sailing on the river and many other summer activities. It's right on the path of scenic Voyageurs Pathway, makes it very popular for cyclists from all levels.

Small and the water is not very clean. Nice set up, kids area lots of parking . Close rot the city few trails that are boring. I didn’t really like it much the beach is small .

Peaceful surroundings. Clean lake with soft sand. The facilities are new and well equipped. Free rentals of canoes, kayaks and pedalos for card carrying locals. I try to come here every weekend in the summer. We’ve seen deer, eagles, birds, frogs, lily pads, and dragonflies. Life guards monitor lake, and bbq areas have charcoal pits available. Super family friendly. ❤️❤️❤️

We visited the place twice, two days apart. We loved the trails, both O/T1/T2 with hills fun for kids to tackle, and a long loop on E, which is mostly flat. The rental gear was comfortable and the staff was very friendly.

Beautiful, well maintained trails for walking, snowshoeing, fatbiking or skiing. Even on weekends it isn't overly busy.

Nice park/trails and lake. Winter time, XC ski, snowshoeing, walking, ice skating on the lake, and little toboggan/ sledding hill. Summer time, hiking being by water (not certain if swimming in lake is advisable or not) picnic, playground.

One of the best places for a walk or cycle in Gatineau that's not within Gatineau Park. Plenty of easy trails for mountain biking for those with less experience and plenty of walking space, with the chance of encountering deer as you walk. Unfortunately there can be broken glass here and there, and some patches of poison ivy so be mindful of straying off the trails.

I visited many times for conferences and meetings. I feel secure while cycling and stopping there for pit stop, toilet break, taking dihydrogen monoxide (H2O), etc. Also, I had to go there to pay fines for parking violation a couple of times. :(

Free parking on the sidewalk when you drive a white truck. If it fits it sits.

You aren't just paying for the buffet. $45 for all you can eat buffet, plus 3 hours of cabaret entertainment for night out, is pretty reasonable. The servers are also the entertainers. Serving us and changing costumes, dancing and singing. They don't stop from 6pm to 11pm. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. For amateur entertainment, they did a great job and had fabulously powerful voices. This isn't Las Vegas. It's Aylmer. And what a great Saturday gig for theses young entertainers.

Disappointing...I don’t eat seafood but i expected much better in the non-seafood section. Buffet is terrible. Noting is labelled so you don’t know what you’re eating. Choices are limited. The dishes did not look fresh or appetizing. Evething was cold and tasteless. The salad section was pitiful. My husband had the seafood and said it was just ok. The chowder was too salty. Thank goodness the service was excellent and our waitress attentive and helpful. The show was great though and only these 2 things made the money spent on a $50 per person buffet worth it!! Unfortunately if their chef and food does not improve i would not go back nor recommend it. Everyone at our table agreed. Not comparable to the old Ferme Rouge.

Staff was friendly. Can't comment on the show, because we ate before it started. The food took way to long to arrive, considering how quiet the restarting was when we arrived. The rolls were warm on the outside, but cold in the middle. I asked for my prime rib to be rare, and instead of giving me a centre cut, I got a well done end-cap that was medium-well. (A cruise around the buffet before we left revealed something akin to what you'd find at the Mandarin.)

Decent talent for the presenters. Service was slow and buffet VERY overpriced ($45) and food was dissipointing, frozen vegetables, meat server making unprofessional comments, not a lot of food selection, no dessert left over, waiting in line for well over 30 minutes to get to the buffet, no signage for what was at the buffet... Etc. Never wrote a review for a restaurant before, however I felt that people should know before they waste their money at this place.

Firstly I would say that the show was good, I appreciate the work of the performers. Where everything went south was at the sight of the so called 'buffet' which was pathetic to say the least, for the price quoted I have to say the expectation was much higher. Relatively speaking this was the worst buffet I've ate which was being advertized like it is the top of the line. There were other drawbacks such as ventilation in the room and extreme heat, neither was the service very responsive.

This is the second visit in the past year and both times have been totally disgusted with the food. I had the Back Ribs that were actually side ribs, the Baked potato was cold, the baked beans full of salt, paid $7.00 for a bowl of soup that came with not a cracker or roll. The show was super but would not go back to eat there. P.S. the buffet looked like it had been there for days????

Best walks all summer, plenty of decent cafes. Amazing view. Lots of activities happening and large group gatherings warm your heart.

My family went on the Ottawa River: Historic Sightseeing Cruise Had a good time the young man really knows his info and in English and french good job . But they said the 75mins but it was only 45min and the cost of anything to eat was way to much .. Basic hotdog 3.50.Ring pops for the kids is 1.25 each .. So please stop at the doller tree and pick up 5 or more for 1.25. For the price per person was great $26.00and kids under 4 r free that was nice.

It's a beautiful place to visit especially in the summer and it's also nice in the winter.
