Beautiful scenery. Breath-taking views. If you get a chance on a good clear day stay for the sunset. Great trail for kids with benches for little breaks. Lighthouse loop is about 3 km.

😍 Stunning! One of the most Beautiful trails I've ever done. BC's version of Hawaii. Easy, rolling wide path. Suitable for all ages. Many benches and look outs. My favourite hike in Tofino area.

Wonderful hike. Expect various landscapes alongside the coast, and do wear kiking shoes ideally in order to reach every single viewpoint without getting injured. As the trail's name suggests, the path is Wild, but is definitely well worth a visit (and it's free!) ✅ FYI : Pictures from June 2019

Great short hike, easy

One of of the most breathtaking views on the edge of the west coast. This hike is one of the most scenic of all that I've been on. Good easy slopes for the kids to be on, thick dense trees to the right and the Pacific ocean to the left. They even have lots of break away points off the trail so you can explore nature to it's fullest. We stopped at a beach surrounded by a bunch of marine life, tones of small crabs and shell fishes when tides were low.

Words can not express... just spectacular! Enjoy the waves crashing below as you take in the smells and sights of the ocean and forest air. Take all the Artists Loops for full experience. Stop and climb among the rocks looking for hermit crabs and sea urchins (check tide schedules for safety!). This is definitely a stop and take your time hike.

Fabulous trail! Every corner is a treat for your eyes. Can be enjoyed in any weather. Stunning!

It is very beautiful here. It is highly recommended to come and see it. Tofino must-see attractions. There are many marine animals on the rocks, such as sea urchins, starfish, sea anemones, hermit crabs, fish, etc. This sea area is very clean. There are perfect trails for you to watch the ocean, take a leisurely walk, and watch the sunrise and sunset with your family. Killer whales can be seen here ，This is heaven on earth.

We visited in the weekends was not busy maybe cause it cloudy. But still good to walk in the flat trail and to see close the light house. We go down also in the water and pretty interesting to see the rocks and different seaweeds.

If you go to Ucluelet, be sure to stop by. The open sea and the lighthouse are beautiful. If you have time, it would be nice to walk the trail. They say you can often see whales, so bring your binoculars.

It's one of the most beautiful spots in Ucluelet. It was a terrific experience to watch the sea and light house. The sea was a bit rough and was very windy. Really loved the hiking as well.

A beautiful scenic point with a classic lighthouse that’s easily accessible from the nearby parking lot. The Lighthouse Loop Trail connects up and you can hike in either direction, or you can sit and enjoy the views from any of the numerous benches in the immediate vicinity. For the more adventurous, there are challenging rocks surrounding the lighthouse to clamber on. The informative signage explains the historic shipwreck prior to the construction of the lighthouse and the rebuilding of the structure. I ❤️ lighthouses.

Beautiful serene place on wild pacific trail, to sit as enjoy the views in the sun. Free parking right next to the lighthouse, or at different further locations if you feel like hiking here. Several loop trails leading to the lighthouse through the forest are so beautiful!! Pretty easy hike with some slight elevations. Beautiful views from every point along the way.

We two seniors (73 and 78) loved this place. Very accessible. We walked the Lighthouse loop pathway from end to end. Very easy hike, 2.5 km, the pathway is very well groomed. There are several areas where you can step off the pathway, sit on a park bench, and watch the panoramic view. We really enjoyed this hike and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Don't have picture of lighthouse because I took video. But everything about this place is picture perfect. Lots of toilet facilities (important for us ol' gals!). 😀

Beautiful scenery. The fully functional lighthouse is worth seeing and because we happened to be there on a day with dense sea fog the foghorn was also active which added to the experience. The loop trail has a lot of stunning viewpoints. It's a special place to visit!

Well maintained and well marked trail with amazing views of the ocean. Caught an amazing sunset here. At every corner the views just kept getting better and better. We loved the private benches tucked just off the path along the way.

Excellent trail! Very cool scenery: both forest, cliffs and sea views. The lighthouse is small, but it's actually fully functional and guiding ships since 1915! Highly recommend doing the loop trail. It's fairly flat and no mud in sight. Benches and toilets along the way makes for a easy hike.

Visited late October 2023. No problem finding parking near the coast guard facility “Wild pacific trail” lot, just before sunset. Visitors can’t actually walk around the lighthouse; it’s gated off, presumably for safety as the lighthouse apparently gets battered by winter waves. However, it’s a nice area to hike around and watch the sunset. There are a few interpretive displays and a structure (the former keeper’s residence?) under development, apparently to become a visitor center.

Nice comfortable walk on lighthouse loop. The numerous vantage areas to take in the scenery, Ucluelet did a fantastic job. Trails were well maintained. A must see in any weather.

I recently went on the Lighthouse Trail, which is part of the Wild Pacific Trail, and I must say it was an amazing experience. The hike began with a beautiful walk through the rainforest, which provided some great views of the coast. One of the best things about the Lighthouse Trail is that there are so many different viewing spots along the way. At each stop, I was treated to stunning views of the surrounding nature, and I was really impressed by the stunning scenery all around. Furthermore, the local flora and fauna are well-preserved, and there are many signs providing useful information about the plants and animals inhabiting the area. It was really interesting to learn more about the local ecosystem and the diverse range of creatures that call this place home. The trail takes about 90 minutes to complete, with the highlight being the lighthouse situated in the middle of the hike. While you can't actually access the lighthouse, you can still appreciate it from a distance and admire its beauty. Overall, I highly recommend the Lighthouse Trail for anyone looking for a beautiful hike in nature. The combination of forests and sea is absolutely perfect. So, if you're in the area, be sure to give this trail a try - you won't be disappointed!

See the colourful diversity of the local ocean life — without having to snorkel! Absolutely stunning—so many fascinating species! HINT: look closely and wait for a tiny bit— camouflaged life appears right in front of your eyes! The truly interesting life is small and can go unnoticed. (This is not for profit—important to support them with your visit. Staff are knowledgeable and super friendly!)

MUST SEE if you are visiting Tofino or Ucluelet. Take your sweet time when you visit. The more you look, the more you’ll see. Super impressed with the variety of marine life here, and I love the sustainable catch and release concept. Super helpful staff too. :) We’ll be back every time we visit now, especially knowing the marine life gets switched up seasonally.

I did not know about this quaint little aquarium till last September. Walking along the board walk one stumbles on charming surprises which this aquarium is. If you have kids this is great for them. They will be able to see the wonders of our local water from starfish to urchins and small fish. This is no big city aquarium and there's no big city price tag. One of the most interesting tanks was one that has been untouched for a decade but it is fed by the local ocean waters. Over those years you get to see what has settled and thrived in that tank.

The Aquarium uses specimens that are collected and released each season for study and display, their water supply is a direct exchange from the harbor giving the animals the most natural environment they can indoors. The staff are super friendly and love nerding out sharing their knowledge and i learned a lot of stuff. well worth the price of admission.

The Ucluelet Aquarium is inspiring and that word is not enough to give full measure to this treasure of learning it is, located in the stunning ocean village of Ucluelet aka Ukee on Vancouver Island’s Wild West coast. Its unique catch-and release micro aquarium collects sea animals from local waters in the early months of the year, then returning them back to their ocean home at the end of the March to November season, giving visitors who live on land a nine- month window to learn about their fellow creatures: It also does outreach programmes on the impact of waste on the ocean’s health and other important issues. It is dependent of volunteers and donations. It has recently added a big cedar fish facade to its delightful building , and linked it to a donation program where, if one donates 200$ plus one can get a cedar fish scale shingle inscribed. I got one to honour my ocean-loving son and his family of four., expressing gratitude to them for their care. It is a great gift, and a great way to donate to this Ukee gem. Posted by S Fuller

Absolutely wonderful. This is a catch and release aquarium. All of the visitors are returned to the wild once a year. All exhibits are of local creatures. Bay water is circulated through the tanks. Great docents. Very educational. Some touch tanks. Extremely well done.

Great place for some oceanside education. Great display of local marine life. Employees seem passionate about their work which helps with the atmosphere. Short loop with lots of little details. The catch and release program is a great way to keep the place seasonally new!!

Great aquarium! It looks small from the outside but there was a lot packed in there! Tons of awesome sea creatures to see and to learn about! My favourite was the octopus, we could watch it swim around and change colours!

Unique aquarium! I love that it is a "catch and release" centre returning all of its exhibits of local marine life back to the bay at the end of the season. The staff are friendly and informative, and the touch tanks are interesting. Definitely worth visiting!

We were so lucky to be staying right beside the Ucluelet Aquarium, and made it a priority to visit! The staff was all very friendly and knowledgeable , and were working hard the whole time we were there. We absolutely loved all of the indigenous species, and the beautifully decorated and well-kept tanks and enclosures. We learned a lot about local sea life, and enjoyed our time immensely. Photos don’t do justice - make sure you check out this gem for yourself!

The best part of this aquarium is that they have local fauna, they have this innovative catch-&-release system, that every 6 months release the animals they have at the moment, you can touch some species, the staff is really friendly and wise, the place is small compared to other aquariums i had visited but… is totally worth it to visit!, the place and the conditions of all the animals and plants is great, definitely i’ll come back!

An awesome catch-and-release aquarium that has a new assortment of specimens on display each season. Friendly and knowledgeable staff that are happy to explain the variety of species on display. There is also a small gift shop with some really cool stickers, postcards, T-shirts and books.

Visited in April 2023. This was such a unique little aquarium! Love that it is catch-and-release - and all local animals/specimens. The open tanks are very cool and there are some which allow you to touch. We also really enjoyed the educational panels throughout the aquarium, and appreciated the focus on conservation.

Great place to bring kids and learn about the sea life in this coast, and it helps with conservation of wild life. The staff is very friendly and attentive helping and answering questions. There is a very friendly octopus and has a touch and feel experience as you can touch sertain animas around the aquarium. Lovely.

As a first-time visitor to the Ucluelet Aquarium, I was thoroughly impressed by the wide range of marine life on display and the dedication of the staff to educating visitors about the importance of conserving our oceans. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was captivated by the vibrant colors and diverse species of fish, invertebrates, and marine mammals. The aquarium's exhibits are well-designed and informative, providing visitors with a wealth of knowledge about the local marine ecosystem. I was particularly impressed by the aquarium's touch pool, where I was able to get up close and personal with some of the creatures that call the Pacific Ocean home. The staff were incredibly friendly answering all of my questions and providing fascinating insights into the lives of these animals. In addition to the exhibits, the aquarium also offers a variety of educational programs and events. The Aquarium are all for the importance of protecting our oceans. Overall, my visit to the Ucluelet Aquarium was a great experience. I was left with a renewed appreciation for the importance of protecting our oceans. I highly recommend this aquarium to anyone visiting Ucluelet.

Clean and lots of information. Tons of parking, conveniently located at the entrance to pacific rim park, right between Ucluelet and Tofino.

We were proudly told all the locations that were closed after I asked for special events. It was like pulling teeth. Dark dinghy place. No significant merchandise for sale. Rather off putting than welcoming. A missed opportunity for the community.

Visited late October 2023. The visitor center is just okay, there isn’t much in terms of interpretive displays. The staff guy was friendly and helpful and provided some maps and suggestions, but this place is perhaps a 10 min stop at most. There is a small gift shop section with a few shirts, books, etc.

Nice spot for a bathroom break! Safe location to put your car if you want to carpool somewhere for a bit.

We arrived just before closing, but the fellow there was happy to help us find the information we needed and gave us some great suggestions for how to enjoy our weekend in the area even though the weather was predicted to be unfavorable.

Gateway to the West Coast. Although closed this time, they offer some souvenirs, lots of info and you can buy your parking pass here. If you've never been to the Coast, drop in on your way out to get information on all of the things to do.

A must-stop if it's your first time in Tofino and even if it's not. Grab invaluable info, get on the money advice and current up to the minute info about closures, hazards, and opportunities. Really knowledgeable locals staff the place. Otherwise just grab a brochure and use the washrooms.

This facility once had a very good exhibition. Restaurant with beach and sunset views used to be top class, high rated. Unfortunately, since management transferred to First Nations, essentially abandoned.

The beach adjacent to the visitor center is a great place to come and relax and take in the views of the ocean. We were here for a sunset on our last visit and will never forget the awesome views. Definitely a place to discover if you're visiting florencia beach.

So I've read some of the reviews on here about the place looking abandoned. This is not true, they are in the middle of a Reno and should hopefully have the place open and running shortly. The views and the beachs are so beautiful, I would highly recommend to anyone thinking about checking out Florence beach to also check out Kwisitis visitor center. Oh, lastly, your in Pacific rim park so please be aware of wild life as there are bears, wolfs and all sorts of wild life.

Stunning location on the sandy shores of Wikkaninnish Beach the visitor center is the focal point of the past present and future of west coast British Columbia. I was most impressed with the very strong focus on the Nuu-chah-nulth First Nations people who have called this place home for over 5000 years. Stunning murals, sculptures, artifacts and story boards immerse you in the education. Also the land and marine wildlife educational component of the centre is world class. When the first nations sections added in the whole place rivals any museum. The Visitor Centre guide is very knowledgable and helpful so be sure to chat with them. Lastly don't forget to enjoy the upper viewing rooms looking out across the huge waves of the shoreline and the outer decks as well.

We were just amazed looking at the waves on one stormy day! The visitor centre was closed but the deck is at the perfect place for watching the waves and having a cup of coffee..

Even in storm season it's a beautiful place. The visitors center has a lot of great history, love this area ❤

A hidden gem in the Pacific Rim National Park. Located between Tofino and Ucluelet the Kwisitis Visitor Centre has amazing lookout decks and and indoor viewing area for the super rainy days. There is also a theatre and interpretive area with a variety of displays. The restaurant is open seasonally.

Interesting info centre with basic history of the area and interactive displays for adults. Not a ton of contemporary info about reconciliation, and it would be lovely to have more interactive options for younger kids. Gorgeous beach adjacent, no food services - they're closed atm.

Nice place to come into and look around. Staff gave a great presentation on bears, wolves and cougars. Unfortunately the restaurant and gift shop are no longer open but that makes it feel more genuine and not a tourist trap. Cost for the park is around $15 for a family pass and is good throughout the park until 4pm the next day. The center is free.

This was our favorite out of five hatcheries we visited on Vancouver Island in late September. We did not see a bear (I think we were a little early in the season). But the scenery here is lovely and the hatchery staff very welcoming and happy to answer questions.

what an amazing place! after 2 months traveling everywhere without seeing even one bear, we saw there one big black bear eating fish, and a mother and a cub on the tree. just amazing. they don't charge for the entry, it is by donation which is highly recommended to donate so they could keep with their great work.

Great place to visit to learn about the life cycle of salmon as well as hopefully spotting a bear or two. The guy working there was super friendly, really knowledgeable and took the time out to come and speak with us and explain the workings. He was also always on the lookout for a bear for us and just before we left we lucked out and one appeared out of the bush. Don’t forget to leave a tip if visiting! Due to the change in climate it’s been a difficult few years for anybody in the fisheries industry.

Salmon hatchery. Lucky enough to see a coastal black bear fishing at the waterfall. First-class, super nice and knowledgeable hatchery staff on hand to talk about the salmon and ecosystems.

Bumpy dirt road to get there but well worth it for a chance to see bears in natural habitat. You have to stay within the fenced area for saftety. Plan for multiple visits for sighting. It's very serene and beautiful to nature watch, even if you don't catch the bears at the right time. Limited parking.

Worth the visit and the chance to see bears! We weren’t so lucky in the bear department, but the fish were pretty neat to see and the staff were very informative and kind with any questions we had. It’s a pretty spectacular thing they are doing. Really appreciate the experience and knowledge gained.

An excellent initiative what these people are doing, well explained by some videos you can watch inside. We waited about 30' at the entrance, after its "official" opening time, before the place actually opened. We did not see any bear, it's really a matter of pure luck. But I am guessing it is great when there would be actually one.

Fantastic spot to see bears very close if you are lucky enough to be around when they wander in from the forest to feed from the Salmon from waterfall pools next to the hatchery. Super friendly staff chat to help achieve this and pass time pleasantly..waiting for a bear or two.

This was like a little piece of heaven on earth! What a beautiful spot and so quiet that I got to sit and enjoy myself for quite a while with not another person around-so peaceful and tranquil. Love!

A very scenic lake, lots of space and few people. A very relaxing and chilled day.

A good lake close to the beaches. The clouds coming from the Pacific Ocean normally don’t get there and it’s sunnier and warmer than the beaches. The water is up to waist height for about 100 meters from the shore then it starts to get deeper, making it very safe for kids. The water is super clear and you can see the bottom even in deeper parts of the lake.

Tricky footing down to this gorgeous beach. There is a short pullout of parking on lake side but a rocky entrance down. Beautiful sand. Shallow beach you can see the shade change at depth. Very prime for a family gathering

We just got home from staying at the Copper Cabin. It was the best. Cozy and warm upon check in, and it had everything you could ask for. Definitely recommend and will be returning

A cozy private get-away. Beautifully crafted cabin with everything you need and more. We loved the fireplace, the huge copper tub that you can stretch right out in, the private hot tub in the woods, and a quiet porch to enjoy some downtime after a full day of exploring. Close to Ucluelet and Tofino. A ten minute walk to the Florencia and Halfmoon Bay trail head. Well worth the hike to enjoy a beautiful sunset. We loved our stay here!

Very relaxing experience. Place is nicely isolated. Only problem we had was connecting to wifi,but then maybe that was a good thing.

This was by far my favorite trip with my husband. The location was perfect and private. The private hot tub was our favorite, surrounded by trees and we were able to hear sea lions. 10/10 We will be back next year!

Amazing! We stayed in Copper Cabin and enjoyed every minute of it. The customer service is very professional and responsive. We have recommended Florencia Bay Retreat to many of our friends and family. Just can’t say enough good things about it. One recommendation is to bring comfy slippers to wear as the floors are beautiful slate and some areas are not flush as it’s a natural stone. We will be back for sure!!!

Florencia Bay Cottage was an absolute dream. A secluded cabin in the forest, it was a peaceful and relaxing place to recharge. Remote working with views of the rainforest was such a cool experience and the wifi was very fast (no issues connecting or joining meetings). The cottage had everything we needed and all the thoughtful details really set this place apart. Close to the national park, the property is a short walk through the forest to Florencia Bay. Like the cabin, this beach felt secluded and was definitely the quietest beach in the area – highly recommend. We come to Tofino/Ucluelet area often and this is by far our new favourite. Coming home to the hot tub and a bbq after a long surf was the best!

What a sweet little gem Florencio cabin is. Super private property and the hot tub was the absolute perfect way to enjoy our family Christmas getaway.

Just got home from our stay at the Halfmoon Cottage and can’t say enough good things about it. We’ve been to Tofino/ucluelet many many times and this was our fave so far. The hot tub, the loft, this place has it all. and florencia bay was beautiful! Can’t wait to come back soon :)

Great gallery and Mark is a great host. Mark took the time to walk us through his gallery and describe many of the pieces. I learned a lot about west coast art from this visit. We will be back next time we are in Ukee!

Luke is super friendly and obviously loves what he does despite the work it takes to harvest the local ingredients. I've never had such unique spirits and had nothing but regrets that we were flying home with carry-on only. Do yourself a favour and don't miss visiting when you're in Ucluelet. Don't let the off the beaten path location stop you.

What a cool experience in Ucluelet! Everything was locally sourced ! I appreciate Luke’s story of how he got to where he is. That was an awesome tasting very memorable and we will be back!! Super unique tasting gin and vodka we will be enjoying tonight 👌👍🏻 The local liquor store sells different bottles as well that he might not have on hand!!

We enjoyed Luke’s accommodating nature and the floral flavours of the vodka and gin! Ended up taking a bottle of gin home, with zero regrets! He explained to us the technique he’s mastered with the wild yeast that gives the floral features and the numerous berries and flowers he takes the time to forage himself. Great dude that makes great booze! Highly recommend!

Great spirits with a great story behind them. Be sure to stay and chat with Luke about his work when you visit; he built the distillery, cultured the wild yeast, and he forages all the botanicals himself. I also recommend petting Frankie the dog.

Beautiful little cozy beach, deeply hidden in a cove, right in Ucluelet, steps away from free parking located right off the main road, so very safe wildlife wise. Super convenient for a picnic or a quick dog walk.

We sat for a couple of hours here while waiting to check in at our hotel. Tranquil, beautiful. We wondered if it's the local nudist beach as there was one topless gal. Parking is a short walk to the beach which is nicely pebbled. People were swimming (Oct 2nd) and a man fishing, little kids played...a very lovely spot.

This cozy lil nook of a beach has a very tranquil vibe. We explored the rocky area and saw some cute little sea life in the water. This is a great place to go to unwind
