Today, we had a tour of the Capitol Building in Madison, Wisconsin. The tour was awesome, and the tour guide was awesome! It was very interesting, and I learned so much. Street parking was available, and the tour group was small. I highly recommend a visit to this place.

This building is so beautiful. They offer free guided tours and I definitely recommend going on one. Our guide was able to take us to places we didn't know about, told us all kinds of interesting facts, and was really friendly. I had no idea we could go up to the observation tower, or that there was a small museum up there! So much fun for free!

This is an absolutely gorgeous building, I haven't had a single moment I walked into the Capitol Building and it hasn't felt like the first time. The details are all absolutely perfect and if you're able to pet the nose of the Badger outside the Governor's office, please do! They also offer FREE tours during the weekdays along with being able to go up to the observation deck!

We had a lovely afternoon visiting the Capitol building for one of the free tours! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and we saw a ton of badgers along the way! The building is magnificent, especially with the Christmas tree and holiday decorations up! The holiday choir was performing as an added plus. Don’t miss the observation deck under the rotunda for even cooler views!

This place is as gorgeous and interesting to explore as it is important to our state. Marble from floor to ceiling, some imported and not without stories! Take the guided tour and they'll tell you all about it! The capital is extremely impressive, every detail is meticulous. It is a state treasure! Coming in at $7.2 million dollars back in the early 1900s. This is a must see if you are visiting Madison, WI.

I love that you can come in and look around for free. I highly recommend going to the top and taking a look outside. There are stairs leading to the very top after you take an elevator to the 4th floor. Public restrooms available inside as well. During the holiday season they have a beautiful tree lit up with children’s ornaments. It’s beautiful. Definitely worth checking out!

The Capitol building was the most beautiful building that I have seen it was very big and wide, ayo. And the inside of the Capitol was very nice and had lots of pictures of religious images.

Capitol building of Wisconsin state is open from 8 am till evening. Open for public . No entry fee. Architectural work is amazing. Grandeur is visible once you enter inside.Very well maintained and clean interior as well as exterior.

The architecture of this state capitol building is nothing short of impressive! The design of both the exterior and interior was stunning, and the view from the observation deck is excellent! The best place inside the capitol building to stand and take pictures is at the very center right underneath the dome. This is a must see when you’re visiting Madison!

What a unique place! I discovered quite a bit of United States history here. And the paintings are beautifully painted. Lots of architecture to take a look at. And plenty of bathrooms on every floor. If you're looking for a place to sit down, there are leather chairs outside the supreme court courtroom on the second floor, in addition to benches outside the Capitol itself

Free and open to the public. During December there is a big Christmas tree with ornaments from school children throughout the state that is fun to see! The architecture is fantastic.

Insanely beautiful building, gorgeous stone throughout. My family decided to go on the free tour. Our tour guide was absolutely wonderful. My husband uses a wheelchair frequently when going out, and this gentlemen let us know where to go to meet and always made sure we were at the right elevator to rejoin the group. He was very very knowledgeable and informative. The observation deck was outstanding as well, definitely recommended going up there

Several times I've wanted to stop here but just didn't have a lot of time. Finally had a chance to take a stroll around the perimeter. It's an interesting capitol building where you're not quite sure where the front is (maybe there is none). There was some renovation going on but nothing too bad. We were able to find street pay parking immediately but one with a very short time limit.

The state capital building is phenomenal. I enjoyed the magnificent views with an amazing architecture. The ceiling, interior design with huge pillars and with vintage ceiling equipment can't make our eyes even to give a blink

I love this little zoo!! It's on the smaller side, but there are plenty of animals to visit. The updates and expansions they've done over the past few years to the enclosures have been great to see. It's a free zoo, but always still plan to bring a donation, because of course taking care of all these beautiful creatures is not free!

We visited in May before the season started. The zoo wasn't very crowded. Some of the animals were not visible, but it was a nice day for a walk anyway. Depending on the time of year, time of day, feeding schedule, and sleeping times, it's not always possible to see all the animals in most zoos. The Henry Vilas Zoo could perhaps be considered a mid-size zoo, and that is an advantage, making the zoo easy to navigate, and not exhausting to explore. There seem to be plenty of friendly staff assisting visitors and caring for the animals. Visiting the zoo is free, but donations are welcome.

It’s the perfect size zoo. I wish there were more animals but what we did see looked to be enjoying themselves. Grizzlies foraging for bugs. The polar bear was swimming and then rolling in mud. The tiger was taking a nap in the sun. The lions were roaming. The river otter was swimming. I didn’t like seeing that the orangutan was all by itself though. I think some of these animals need company. The carousel is lovely. The gift shop is extremely expensive now but, inflation. All in all this is a nice zoo and it’s free. Parking is free as well. We had fun.

It is amazing how the zoo has changed over the years. No more giraffes, camels, penguins. But they still have a lot of other critters to see. A bottle of water was $5.26. Yikes. Kids still love the zoo but I suggest a nice picnic before going in.

We love coming to this zoo. It's the perfect size for little kids to be able to walk and not get too worn out. It's nice in the winter too, if you bundle up and it's not too cold you can still have a great experience. The lions are often active and roaring. The polar bear is very active and likes to swim. There is a family of 5 otters to see too. We miss being able to go into the monkey and reptile area that has been closed to the public since COVID started. In the summer time the playground is open and is a great place to run around and play.

I was glad to see that they have more animals now, there's more places to eat/snack inside the zoo. Last time we were here(6 yrs) they were doing some construction and they didn't have a lot of animals. We all had a great time. My personal favorite was the tiger. There is no fee to enter the zoo, they just ask for a donation. The parking lot is small so I would recommend going early. You can also park on the street around the park.

Henry Villas Zoo is definitely one of the best zoos in Wisconsin. First of all, it's FREE. Yes, you read that correctly. There's no cover charge. The exhibits are well laid out and there are some pretty unique and amazing creatures here. Our favorites are the orangutan family (and a baby orangutan, she's so adorable!!), Tiger, lions, rhinoceros, giraffe, polar bear, otters, anaconda, and MORE! The park isn't excessively large & is well laid out. There's an amazing kids plaza area (seriously, it's incredible). The store is a must see and definitely purchase some stuff to help them keep up the park and superb animal care.

We always have an absolutely great time at this zoo. There us a wide array of animals, as well as a few buildings with other animals. Wonderful playground and children's zoo. There were lots of baby animals when we went today. Also Joe near the exit at guest services was THE NICEST person ever. My kids loved interacting with him and getting a stamp

Really nice zoo. We went on a weekday and it wasn't too crowded. If recommend going early in order to find parking. The animals seemed well cared for and appeared to have appropriate enrichment and good conditions, as well as places to escape the crowds. I would definitely visit again and enjoyed this zoo significantly more than many of the highly recommended commercialized zoos in the country. The zoo staff were friendly and knowledgeable as well.

Great place to take our animal loving children on vacation! A 4 yr old and a 6 yr old found a lot of things to be joyful about even in the cold of March and the rainy/snowy weather! Great playground, cool art/sculptures, and great animal views!

Nice place to visit during weekend. Lots of animals. Kids will enjoy for sure. There is no entry fee. But you can donate at the entrance for your visit. Rhino, giraffe, tiger and lion were very active during our visit.

If you want to have a nice little walk around a beautiful park with the family and see some animals while doing so this is a great place to go. It's small but quaint with a nice variety of animals and plenty of fun things for your little ones to do. Entrance is free which is another plus. Only issue was parking which is why I gave it a 4 star rating.

This Zoo has a surprisingly good selection of animals and exhibits for a free to public zoo. The weather was a little cool that day, but it seemed to have been favorable to most of the animals, too. I wanted to give it 5 stars because for a free zoo (they do take donations), they do a good job overall with the animals and exhibits. The only thing that seemed it could be better was some basic maintenance here and there, especially with cleaning up the glass on some of the exotic animal exhibits. This is a great little getaway for half a day or so with the family or just anyone who appreciates the animals and nature. I'd love to see what they could do with this place should the city pump some money into the zoo. You'd think with all those taxes in the Madison area, they could put some of it to use for the public by investing in public spaces like the zoo. Overall, I definitely recommend this place, and they have some land and picnic tables out by the parking lots as well, so pack a lunch or snacks it's a great little half day or so getaway.

This zoo is just the right size for a day trip. Very manageable to navigate and see a wide variety of animals. The only place it gets crowded is inside the reptiles exhibit. The primates building is probably the highlight especially if you are able to catch the monkeys playing. I would recommend coming through the back entrance that is on Vilas Park Drive. Much more available parking back there.

I have such great memories of coming here when I was a little toddler and it’s nice to see that the quality of this zoo has stayed consistent. I love how close you can see all of the animals, especially the giraffe. We ate at mickies dairy bar then spent the afternoon here. What a great day!

Very nice layout and decent amount of animals that we saw for the zoo's size. Wished the avian flu outbreak wasn't around which quarantined all their birds but we did get a glimpse of the Flamingos. Recommend for all ages.

Our family has gone here for years. Very clean and so much to do and see. I love the fact that it’s free (we usually like to donate anyways) worth coming and checking it out. It’s one of our favorite Madison spots

My family and I travel quite a bit and have been to many zoo's, with that being said I didn't have high expectations for this zoo - especially since it's free. I was seriously so impressed, it is one of the cleanest zoos I have been to! It's not huge, but it's a perfect size for my kiddos to manage without being exhausted. There's a good variety of animals and all enclosures are well maintained and clean. We had a wonderful time and I would highly recommend it!

Having traveled all over the USA, coming back to Madison has showed me how great this zoo really is. Not only is it free, but it is clean, friendly, and fun for the family. The animals all look happy, healthy, and taken care of with clean enclosures. For a free zoo… this zoo is a must see when you come to Madison!

This zoo is free. Is a smaller zoo. We had fun although not too many active animals. Would be a better option in summer when more activities are open.

KIDS LOVE THIS ZOO! It’s a nice place to look at wild animals in the wilderness. Lots of animals and fun for the little ones. They have carousel, playground and train as part of many other activities. We had a wonderful time here.

Very nice zoo with active, happy animals! It has lots of exhibits, bathrooms, eating areas, and a huge playground area, I also love the goats.

This is a great botanical garden - my family has had a membership for years. We love walking around the outside areas when it's warm, and the indoor conservatory it's great in the winter. Additionally, there are a few times a year when we always stop by: - in the spring/summer they have a butterfly event where they raise butterflies and release them into the conservatory. You can walk around the area full of butterflies, if you're lucky one may land on you! - in December they have their holiday express event, where they put together displays and incorporate model trains from enthusiasts in the area. It's always a ton of fun, and they generally have a search and find page for the kids. This year's holiday express was carnival themed, which was a ton of fun.

Was beautiful. The walk through of the orchids took about 1 hour. Was hot and humid inside because that's the natural habitat for the orchids, so dress in layers that you can remove. The flowers were awesome! There was also some orange trees, trees, berry trees, cocoa trees and other little surprises. We'll worth the price of admission! Check out the many photos!

This botanical gardens is the best!! On Saturday mornings from 10am-12pm the garden is FREE! When you enter the dome, be prepared for your jaw to drop! It is amazing! Tropical trees yielding fruit, birds flying around, quail running around, flowers I've never seen before, koi fish pond, a waterfall and so very much more! We were there in winter, but we're told that in May-ish the outdoor garden walk is stunning!This place will not disappoint!! Definitely a must experience when visiting Madison!

I wish I could give more than 5 stars. These gardens are BEAUTIFUL! Very nice environment outside to walk around, plenty of plants to see as well as wildlife. There are some areas that may be inaccessible for visitors in wheelchairs, but the paths in general are very well kept! Stopping by the Thai gardens is a MUST - stunning architecture and design. Gift shop has fun items as well!

Great place to visit on a pleasant day. The outdoor gardens are free and great for a slow stroll through when the weather is nice. The indoor conservatory is worth the $6 as there are unique and rare plants to observe. You can spend as much or as little time here as you please.

The Thai garden was definitely our favorite part. The black ponds are really cool. Could visualize many spots for wedding of family pictures. The main building has bathrooms, gift shop, water, and vending. The staff is friendly and helpful. Unbelievable this place is no charge , except for the dome, but please donate to keep this good thing going

Given the time of the year I visited it, there wasn’t much to see outside, but it was still nice and peaceful (I would definitely visit again during spring or summer). The bright side was the indoor tropical exhibit, where there are different plants and birds. Don’t forget to visit the rooftop! Free parking.

This place is wonderful! It's well setup walkthrough of trees, flowers and plants. Most have identification on them, it's very educational and pretty. We also saw a baby owl!! Highly recommend a visit👍👍

We had a great time listening to music, walking around, and exploring the gardens both inside & out. It was a special fundraiser that was relaxing and fun. The music was just the right, you could hear each other talking, not to loud. There were little pockets to sit in, with just a few others. They also had a cash bar for drinks. All in all, fun, friends, and helping raise money for a worthy cause.

Went here to a rare second bloom. It just so happens I was in town. It only blooms 4 to 5 times in its 40-year life span. The Garden itself is free to get into. Beautiful day to enjoy some nice flora. Nice little gift shop that is worth checking out to grab something to remember the trip.

Flowers are in full bloom and the Blooming Butterfly located inside the Blotz Conservatory was a big hit with visitors, young and old. Olbrich Botanical Gardens is a 16 acre outdoor botanical garden and 10,000-square-foot conservatory in Madison, Wisconsin. Founded in 1952 and named for its founder, Michael Olbrich, the gardens are owned and operated jointly by the City of Madison Parks and the non-profit Olbrich Botanical Society.

The information desk representative was an exceptional gentleman and very informative/helpful. Great place for family’s and tourists to see a beautiful garden. I was able to get a lot of amazing photos of the plants and they put a lot of love and effort into their establishment. I would say be warned as one of the younger female staff looked tired/bored and seemed to have a tiny bit of an attitude when I asked her a question. Beyond that, some people I had the displeasure of crossing paths with seemed to be bothered with people taking photos, when the website actually encourages you to bring your camera for memorable photos. It seems like some of the visitors here think they are above other people and incredibly snobby. No fault of the staff but would just recommend to watch out for the rude pretentious people that visit this establishment. If you can ignore people acting a little weird/rude, this place is an absolute gem. Outside garden are free, the conservatory was $6/person. Great value and great memories!

We only had time for a quick visit in January so we spent about 30 minutes in the conservatory and did not get to walk outside. They conservatory was great! It's such a peaceful atmosphere. It's very relaxing to look at plants, hear the birds and waterfalls, and feel the tropical climate. A little smaller than other similar places we've visited, but still enough to see. The birds were a great touch. We got to see a quail poke around and the canaries were quite vocal. You can also see a few koi in the water. Many orchids and bromeliads and other interesting plants with great color.

A scheduled stop on a road trip with my son back in 2022. First, this place was a lot bigger than I had expected! We visited in early June and unfortunately, it was too early for the flowers. There were some but not many in bloom yet. That was a bummer. However, the weather was beautiful and we wanted to see the Thai Pavilion and Conservatory. Well, we got handed our second strike and the Conservatory was booked for a wedding and closed to the public. On a positive note, it saved us the cost of entry because the grounds were free to enter. So, we walked the park grounds and took pics of the few flowers we did see and made our way to the Thai Pavilion. Wow! The pavilion is spectacular! It shines in the sun like a palace! We got some great photos of it. We walked through some of the trails in the park but came to the realization that the flowers just aren't going to bloom for us and decided to go. The park is beautiful and I'm sure the Conservatory is great. I bet July & August are the best times to visit. All the flowers would be in bloom by then. I highly recommend this place!

I enjoyed coming here with my family even during the fall time. it was our first time coming here. We loved the tropical green house and walking around. I give this a 5 star for the sweet ladies who helped my father who was hard time walking. they were so helpful and accommodating. I would love to come back during the summer time!

The Orchid Escape exhibition is the best! I love the tropical setting and dinosaur theme, the gorgeous flowers and plants, and the friendly animals. 10/10 best experience for friends, family, and lovers 🦕🌴

The Gardens had a beautiful orchid show when we visited in the Conservatory. The outside gardens were still a nice walk even in February.

The gardens were a breath of fresh air to walk through and get to learn about some of the plants and flowers. A great activity to do with family. The light displays are always so pretty too.

Is it possible to give more than 5 stars? This place is drop dead gorgeous and the entrance fee is paltry. I came well past the prime season and they still had great things for me to see. I spent 2.5 hours here.

I like this downtown restaurant. On State St, about a block from the Capitol Square. I loved the dark atmosphere. Cool jazz music playing. Besides not being very loud in there, the booths help make it easy to have a conversation. The rough brick wall also helps to break up any noise. Our server was very friendly and the timing of her check-ins was good. First off, I liked the bread. Besides being complementary, each piece was crunchy on one side and warm & buttery on the other. The roasted mushroom crostini was a great way to start the meals. It was crunchy chewy, with the expected sweetness from the cheese and glaze. My salmon crunchy outside and soft moist inside. The garlic lemon sauce was a great added flavor. The shrimp scampi also tasted great, although a bit too heavy on the garlic. The Bliss Burger was a tasty burger dripping with juicy goodness. The accompanying fries tasted just McDonald's fries, but a little less salty. The meat in the Ziti with Ragu was a nice combo of hearty meat with soft tender tasty ziti. The waitress passed by with plates of desserts that looked real good, but we were just too full. ....Next time. Overall, I really liked this upscale city tavern.

Good spot if you're too drunk to care what you eat and your favorite cocktail ingredient is simple syrup. We kept it simple and ordered burgers. His came under cooked and mine came without the $3.50 bacon addition and any toppings whatsoever. Once the bacon came, it was two inches long seared on one side and completely raw on the other. The manager seemed intoxicated, but was nice enough. He offered to comp the burger, which is why I offered three stars. My friends all had similar stories, so I felt the need to write a review.

Stopped in after a show at the Overture Center on a Friday night. We got there just after the kitchen was closed so can't speak to the food. The drinks we ordered were both mediocre for the price. One was flavorless the other was basically just dominated by the shake of spice put on top. We sat at the bar where you'd expect good service in a fairly empty restaurant, but instead I would describe it as subpar. I sat with an empty drink for more than enough time that I might have ordered a second drink that might have redeemed the place, but instead gave up and just got the check. With a location so close to the square and Overture Center this place really seems to miss the opportunity as a late night stop. Definitely better options close by.

While visiting from out of town, I decided to take my wife here for her birthday. Man! This was some of the most delicious, tastiest, visually pleasant food I've had in Madison. The salmon alone is now in my top 3 all-time. The lamb chops were grilled tender to perfection. But the highlight of the night was the mushroom crostini appetizer. We have never tasted a mushroom dish with such unbelievable blends of flavor at any restaurant in life! Take a look at my photos, and you be the judge.

We went to 107 State for dinner before Overture event(5:30p.m.). Staff was great. Appetizer was good. Burgers were awful. My cheeseburger was ordered medium rare-it was a well done hockey puck . Both burgers were. This was burger week!!! I was offered a remake. I said no as we did have an event to attend. We were given $ off. Thank you. Please clean and deodorize your bathrooms. There seems to be some sort of sewage issue.

I like the troll vibe of the restaurant. I ordered the grandpa root beer, salt and pepper chicken wings and the sirloin “frites” the wings are good and my steak could have been a little more cook but it was good too and the service was good.

Went in here once on a whim. While looking at the menu outside, someone walking in said "it's great, try it." So we did, and now have gone 3 times and will continue to do so. Excellent food, tasty cocktails, and friendly service!

Don't make a mistake, make a reservation instead. We're so glad we did with the event at the overture we were not aware of. Our experience was amazing. Cocktails: -Espresso Martini - perfect compliment of bitter coffee and sweet -Glass of recommended Red - wife enjoyed 2 glasses -House Signature Manhattan - always a fan of big rock + presentation Appetizer: -Roasted Mushroom Crostini - loved every bite -Caesar Salad - healthy portion with hint of anchovy Main: -Fettuccini ala Scampi: I scouted this item out ahead of time, and was the perfect marriage of lemon, garlic, and butter. Shrimp cooked perfectly. -Mushroom Ragu: This was another recommendation from our server, Jen. A combination of shiitake, baby bella, and oyster. My wife loves mushrooms so this was an absolute hit. -Grilled Lamb Chops: We were craving pasta but could not pass up this dish. Super tender bone-in lamb complimented with Green Beans with a garlic butter finish. You cannot go wrong! Overall, we finished our cocktails at the bar and held a friendly conversation with the staff before we took off. Everything was great, loved the intimate setting. Compliments to Nate, Jen, Kitchen + Bar Staff!

A nice place with good cocktails and very good food. The service could have been a bit better but wasn't bad. Would go again and recommend for sure.

I LOVE this place! The last restaurant iterations in this space have been truly lacking, so I was very dubious about the new joint. However, my fears were QUICKLY assuaged. This place ROCKS! The burgers and steak are delicious. (I haven't had the pasta, but it looks great too!). And don't miss the cheesecake! It took me several visits to give in, and I was mad at myself for not eating it before! The staff are all really great and friendly and make this place feel very, very welcoming! Update: I have ordered several pastas, and they are as delicious as I hoped. Every one! Recommend everything from this place!

If i could give more stars, I would. I arrived in a wheelchair. My friend was having trouble pushing me through the door. One of the employees rushed to the door to help me. With her help, the door was easy. They seated us immediately. We ordered drinks and an appetizer, mushroom crustini. The toast had crunch, the topping was creamy, and the mushrooms were plentiful. We ordered dinner; Steak Frites and Shrimp Scampi. The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the fries were amazing! Everything was seasoned to perfection; spice but not overpowering. Delicious! I'll be back soon!

It would only take a blink to miss 107 State, but recommend keeping your eyes open to try this cozy little spot on State Street. Reservations are highly recommended if you want a table (we ended up sitting at the bar). My wife had tonight's special, Fusilli Brisket (on the regular menu with lamb) which was a delicious and tender combination. I had The Old Fashioned burger which was cooked to perfection and also delicious! I also added the bacon to mine, which calling it bacon is such and statement, it is really a burger sized slab of pork belly (which was amazing! ) The staff was friendly and attentive, and overall a welcoming little spot almost hidden on State.

Discovered this place just walking down the street looking for a place to eat. Signage is horrible but everything else is A++. Great food, cozy atmosphere and fantastic service! Will definitely be going back.

Service was terrible, and it took our server ages between visits to our table. Appetizers were brought out concurrently with entrees—just what everyone wants, to let their food get cold while eating their salad. Spaghetti was mediocre, with way too much cheese, but others at our table did enjoy their entrees, so I’ll bump the food bit of the rating a smidge. The wings were quite good though, even if the sauce left something to be desired. The night ended with a large bill that the server awkwardly danced around trying to figure out who to give it to, which is definitely on us for not asking for separate checks upfront, but as it becomes more the norm to ask how to handle the check in a larger, varied group, it just was a tad disappointing—and this, like everything else, took the server way too long both to bring and take payment. And then there’s the credit card surcharge. I get it, the fees are high from the card processors. But it’s part of doing business. In a world that is increasingly more “touchless”, expecting normal people to just have $300+ in cash is a bit unrealistic, and it’s not safe to let one’s debit card leave their sight. Everything should always be purchased on credit.

Beautiful historic building with great architectural features. Meeting rooms and halls available as well as several different dining options. You can also obtain your badger gear from a gift shop.

Truly unique spot for any college campus. Attracts many non students. They had open mic on the Wednesday eve I was here. Many many seating spots outside with their colorful chairs and tables.

The view is absolutely breathtaking. Reasonable prices on excellent Wisconsin beers, many of them local. Food was reminiscent of stadium food, which made me think of fall football games. Saw many dogs, which makes me happy and I will definitely have to bring mine along next time I go. The sunset definitely made the experience memorable.

The Union is part of my morning exercise routine, when I can walk outdoors. Always a welcoming place with a great view.

Sweet water front views, plenty of food options and beer. Music almost every night during warm season. Great hiking around to picnic point about 4 miles round trip from a Union Terrace. Also seating available for you to enjoy outdoors.

Frankly, I don’t know too many places better during summer time than the terrace. A pitcher and beer and Babcock ice cream are must. The place is even better when there is live music.

The best place in Madison! This time it was bursting with students. The food line was a little long, but the beer wasn't. Stop by and bring your masks.

I have been continually disappointed by this location. No matter what I order, whether it's busy or dead, the baristas never fill the drink to the top. It's very frustrating given the money you pay to size up. What's even worse is you see they leave extra in the mixing cups and throw it out while it is very clear your drink is not filled to size. I should not have to be adding my own water/milk, etc. after receiving my drink. Honestly it's getting ridiculous at this point. Though the drinks are hit or miss, the staff is always super friendly and greets you when you come in and wishes you well on your way out. They are consistently exceptional. The inside has plenty of seating and is always clean. Paid street parking and paid parking garages around nearby. Free parking for longer than 1 or 2 hours is a half a mile away at best. There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. This location is wheelchair accessible.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE, employee Rodrick slapped my rear with a broom. Unsanitary. Lost my business TODAY. Would have been five stars if not for the APPALLING behaviour by this "man".

Very rude. We came in 10 min before close. We all ordered except my mom, she told the employees she was waiting to see what my drink tasted like to get an idea of what she wanted... so after a minute of waiting the employee looks at my mom and says "You have 2 minutes, you better make up your mind what you want *tapping on her head*". That is rude. We were polite, communicative and the paying customers. Not only that but my medium drink was missing like a full inch of liquid...which hasn't ever happened in a starbucks before. This is rude and unprofessional, I get We came in 10 min before close. But the lack of professionalism and customer service is appalling. No smiles, and at 7 one of the employees outwardly said 'that's it! No more people'!!! Absolutely rude and I will not be going back here again.

When all downtown restaurants were fully booked and no takeout options even offered, had to resort to Starbucks for a bite. The tomato and cheese with pesto sandwich was pretty good.

I am not the biggest fan of Starbucks in general. However, when I quickly stopped by Alex was absolutely efficient and provided perfect service.

Came in for coffee. My grandson was with and they were rude because he was listen to his iPad and they said if we want to stay in here turn it down. It wasn't even loud. Very rude employees and when we left they were rolling there eyes and shaking there heads. If I worked there these employees would no longer be working there.

This is my favorite Starbucks to use but this week I have gone twice in the morning around 6-630 and it hasnt been open. I am not sure if this is due to staff or if hours were changed but not posted? Hopefully this changes!

Kind staff, but the mobile ordering experience is not ok. Waited 50+ minutes for a mobile order. They told us someone must've grabbed it, but we were standing there paying attention the entire time. Watched at least 20 people enter the store, wait in line, and still get their drinks before us. Clearly they prioritized people who ordered at the counter over mobile orders. Others waiting for a mobile order had the same experience. Not the staff's fault, everybody was very nice, but something is very wrong with the ordering system at this location. If you go here at a busy time, just wait in line and place your order at the counter. It'll still be 10-15 minutes but that's the best option.

I don't like this Starbucks very much. I like that they offered free bathrooms and free water to people. I like how this place opens early, at 5:30 am. I feel that the breakfast and bakery items are overpriced for their quality. Their tea is way too sweet. Management is not welcoming or friendly. This place attracts the homeless crowds. This is not a kid-friendly place. Manager and employee have been passive- aggressive and manipulative with me. This place is not welcoming to everyone. I am glad that there was at one employee that was nice to me. When I drank the ice water, my lips burned and my tongue went numb. I also am a Starbucks rewards member. Only one employee that works that actually engages in that facet of the business. Also, a lot of times, the one and only available bathroom is amess. Oftentimes there is cum all over the floor tile

Beautiful view and conveniently right in front of the capitol!!! Downtown shop with great coffee. busy place with nice staff. Had a long steady line almost out the door but still efficiently got orders done quickly. what this store does is what the one in navy pier needs. sketchy individuals in here but not to buy anything.. otherwise great Madison is a beautiful city!!!

There’s not a ton of seating, but it’s super nice that they don’t use bathroom keys! I’ve been to this location a few times now, and some of these times were to only use the toilet. The staff appears to be having fun while getting the job done, and they’re in such a great mood. Overall if you can find a seat, it’s a pretty nice Starbucks, especially if you can get a seat by the window facing the square!

Location on corner by square facing the capitol. Can get very busy. Triangular shaped store inside. Full service Starbucks with very nice staff. Order was prompt despite the line. Be wary of sometimes aggressive panhandlers out front.

Great atmosphere, the fans really back the Badgers and the students add another level to the overall intensity. Easy to get in and out of the stadium. The stands are typically packed, so prepare to be seated shoulder-to-shoulder with your neighbors. The washroom lines were not too brutal, plenty of choices at the concessions. As of this posting, alcohol is not sold within the stadium.

The vibe is amazing, all the fans all hyped up. It does have bleacher seating, but of the season ticket holders pay extra, there are cushions and back attached to the the bleacher(makes it more comfortable). Best advice I can give……eat before going.

Didn't make it inside during my summer visit, but it gave me all the feels of a fall Saturday afternoon. The stadium is in the heart of Madison with Camp Randall Park flanking one of its sides.

Absolutely fantastic. Very nostalgic feeling. It was super cool to be able at the time to walk on the field and stand on the 50 yard line. Very cool experience. I'll never forget this one.

May 13, 2023 Quick entry for Spring 2023 graduation ceremony. We did get here about 10:45. I was only asked if I had a purse. Did see others with purses or bags slightly larger than the recommended. Blankets, stadium cushions and seats are allowed. (Wish I would have brought something to sit on; these seats are uncomfortable metal). Plenty of programs available.There was plenty of seating available. There may be a separate section for wheelchair accessible, which I believe contact with the Chancellor office prior to graduation will help access that.We were able to get in under cover (in case of rain or blazing sun). Very festive atmosphere!! These students are excited and proud as everyone should be!! If you deem this review helpful, please give it a 👍.

Great venue, shockingly no alcohol in the stadium. In Wisconsin lol. But it’s an outstanding place to visit, only complaint I have is the lack of traffic control after games. It takes FOREVER to get out of the city! You can’t just rely on traffic lights when 80,000 people are leaving and foot traffic is blocking streets as well. Very poorly planned.

I'd say this is one of the top 3 college stadiums in the land. Amazing history, great atmosphere, and at the middle of 3 different neighborhoods all which offer uniquely different things.

It was my first Badgers game and it was phenomenal. The weather was atrocious, wet and cold, but we all had a blast. I brought my son and my mom, in a wheelchair, and we were able to upgrade to the new wheelchair seating. 6 rows up from the end zone!! Everlast was there that day as a surprise as well. Doing the Jump Around was worth the wait. I can't wait to come back!

Go Badgers (highschool!!)!!!! Easy to find seats, staff was quick to steer in the right direction, west side gets to see the sunset-ish but stays in shade- cold.. prepare for it, East gets morning sun. LOVE THE STADIUM & ALL IT OFFERS. Clean & ready for fun.

Hey, you ever been to Camp Randall Stadium? I walk in, and it's like a tornado of drunk energy. These kids, they're yelling, singing, and doing flips in the stands like they just found out they can't get hangovers yet. And after the third quarter, it's like a 90's disco party but the only song the DJ has is "Jump Around." And jumpin' is what they be doin'. But here's the kicker, folks. You can't even buy alcohol in the stadium, yet somehow, everyone's ripped! It's like they're smuggling flasks in their underwear or something. I haven't seen this many inebriated people since my last family reunion. So, if you want to dive headfirst into a place where sports meets pandemonium, and common sense takes a backseat, check out Camp Randall Stadium. Bring your detective skills to find out how everyone's getting so lit, because you're in for a wild ride, folks!

We enjoyed our trip and time at the stadium, even though our team didn't win. Fans that we encountered were great!

Awesome field. They have a very nice gift shop and cool memorabilia in the halls. The concession stands are fast. Always a good time here.

Not enough room to get out of bleacher seats to use restroom or go to concessions, overpriced water and hot chocolate. Tap pay doesn't work in w section. There are some red cushion seats but not in all areas and if you have wider hips you won't be comfortable. Even if you don't have those seats you are squished. Traffic is not well controlled by any sort of law enforcement pre or post game. The band was the highlight in our eyes as the team didn't play well that day.

Second time ever been there and loved it. It would have been a lot better if it wasn't so hot when I went to the game. But all in all still had a blast

My A Cappella group through UW-Madison held our Winter concert at the Monona Terrace lecture hall, and we could not possibly speak more highly of this venue. We had an incredible experience working with the team. The sound and lighting professionals were so kind and helpful, and we could not have asked for better people to work with. Amanda, the sales manager that assisted us throughout the entire booking and concert experience, was an absolute joy to work with. The venue was affordable on a student-run organization budget, and we are ecstatic to hopefully return next year!

Love this place. However, the parking ramp is definitely in need of some love and the outdoor elevator was not working. It is definitely the perfect venue for the art and craft fair I participated in this past weekend. Have been part of this fair for over 30 years. Glad it is still going strong.

Located in the town of Madison, Monona Terrace is a beautifully curved convention center designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, a master of modern architecture. Like the the Guggenheim Museum in New York City, which was also designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, the curving beauty of the building is enhanced by the morning sunlight from Lake Monona in front of it. If you are ever in the Madison area, I highly recommend you visit.

This is a must stop for Frank Lloyd Wright fans. The amount of detail that go into the architecture is amazing. We didn’t have enough time for the tour because they were having event going on. The cafe on the rooftop was nice. You can easily spend a couple hours just browsing around the building.

Monona Terrace was a great choice for our wedding ceremony and reception! It was more affordable than other venues in downtown Madison. The view was unparalleled - our ceremony was on the rooftop and our reception was in Community Terrace, which both had gorgeous views of Lake Monona. The food was delicious! Staff did most of the cleanup, and we just picked up our stuff from the loading dock the next day!

I went for a food show, unfortunately they had booked a couple of other events at the same time. The combinations were great inside the building. Unfortunately there was no parking. I had to park in the employee parking and walk 4 flights of stairs to get inside. I have a few medical conditions that make it hard to do stairs. So I wasn't happy about that. Otherwise it was a nice place.

Monona Terrace and its abundance of gingko trees is well worth a visit, either on an indoor tour or views from the rooftop terrace. It is easily visited by motor vehicle, cycling or walking. Along the Lake Monona shore, there is a bike and footpath, and surprisingly, it also has a bike elevator to take you from the level sidewalks of the state Capitol up or down to the shoreline paths.

I was hesitant to try an unknown event advertised on social media but am glad we did. The musicians were talented and personable and their musical interpretations creative. The candles glowed and added great atmosphere. We loved the singalong at the end. I will look for future events!

Monona Terrace was the first choice of venue for our wedding, and it was the best choice. Apart from being an iconic Frank Lloyd Wright building that can be seen from most places in Madison, the Monona Terrace team were very professional and organized in helping set up our wedding day. From the tasting (which was very well executed) to the rehearsal to the actual wedding day, Marcia Terrones (our wedding manager) was friendly, courteous and accommodating of our many questions and requests. We were married at the Community Terrace which is a lovely room with sweeping views of Lake Monona. The setup and breakdown was seamless, and we didn’t have to do much to the room to make it look good. A big plus of the Monona Terrace is their in-house catering, and they are experts in this field. From the hors d’œuvres to the drinks to the main course, everything was very delicious. They also packed up any main courses that weren’t eaten by the guests, which I appreciated as we hate food waste. We attended the Candlelight concert at Monona Terrace featuring Vivaldi's Four Seasons. It was a magical experience in an intimate setting with fantastic musicians! Go to one of these concerts if you get the chance!

I didn't want it to end - so beautiful. I really liked the musicians' commentary and interaction with the audience. You don’t usually get that so much at the symphony performances.

The string quartet was incredible, loved their interactions with the audience too. The arrangements of Taylor’s songs were impressive, and the way they emulated the percussion with their stringed instruments was amazing. Would high recommend!

Very large campus, with I believe 35k students on average. The campus and it's buildings are very nice. Luckily, I visited before school started, so it wasn't busy at all. University of Wisconsin-Madison even has it's own ice cream shop! I believe that UWM runs it's own dairy. The path by the lake is also very beautiful, and I would recommend walking there. My only complaint is that everything seems to be very spread out, but that's a good way to get steps.

Just look up Madeline Krasno monkey cranial procedure. Animal experimentation is torture. Will not attend ever. Bad area too. High crime on campus.

Just got back from a trek through the luscious Madison streets and had a lovely time. Not only was the campus delightful, but so was the food. My only gripe with the campus was the bone-chilling wind that occasionally swept through the buildings. Overall a great place for a college.

Affordable and dependable are true claims on their site. Felt good to hire hard-working college students. They were professional--arrived promptly, were polite, explained removal expectations clearly, made billing easy, gave me a discount for having my neighbors drive and walk done, were flexible working around City road construction, and followed up with me to ensure customer satisfaction. Outstanding!

Great school. The safest school. Beautiful lakeshore. Academic quality is very high. Very strong for sociology, psychology, education, biochem, chem, chem eng., etc. Good place for raising kids on campus for grad students. Strong sports, football, basketball, hockey, etc. Very very gentle people on and off campus. Nice city full of highly educated people. Best campus for bike riding. Top hospitals. One of the best places to live too.

You to be a medicine is a terrific campus with a great feel and an unbelievable academic reputation. Check out the physical education teacher education program while you’re there. One of the best secrets in the country.

The best university for undergraduate education in US. Very nice libraries and around 24 libraries in number in Madison campus for students .The laboratories are really wonderful. Teachers are great academicians. They are really great and helpful to their students. Department of Psychology is class apart.

Not only do they allow students to participate in full on social and public RACISM! this school does nothing to protect students of color! Don’t be apart of bigotry that is clearly FUNDED into this school since no one can take any type of action to this matter. The president of this school is wack and prob doesn’t like black people enough to do anything about it. Sad times

This college is so neat! The campus is so pretty along the lake with all sorts of activities. There’s so many cool building and academic centers for students like me to research topics. I only toured it for 30 min but it has wonderful nature and lots of resources in the capitol Madison!!

One of the great land grant Universities. Buckle up and learn stuff. If at some point you are not confused, frustrated or having your feelings hurt, you are not getting your moneys worth but you will for sure come out the other end stronger, more mature, more knowledgeable, more rational, more sensative, and better able to discern truth and to wade through the viscicitudes of life.

I love uw Madison. Every is so good here. Affordable tuition and living expenses. Rich resources for FREE! Convenient living. Located in an urban with everything essential but is away from the noisy metropolis. All courses are of great quality and the instructors really want to teach you something. People, no matter native or not are all friendly. It’s like a big family. It’s a so underrated university! Miss my time there..

This is the most amazing school. Top notch academics. Great City. Incredible location. Nice people. Winning athletic program. Tons of great restaurants in town. The beautiful capital is just a quick walk up State Street. The weekly Farmer's Market is truly the best in the country. You have to to the fried cheese booth, and Stella's Spicy Cheese Bread. OMG!!! THE BEST EVER. Plus the school is located on the beautiful Lake Mendota. You can't beat this place.

I know nothing of the educational , but from a pure campus standpoint, it has some attractive buildings (and also some very ugly ones, as most campuses do that did any construction in the 70s), it has a nice lakefront, and proximity to a large number of good restaurants in a great mid-sized city.

Union South, at the University of Wisconsin, is the place to be prior to UW home football games. The marching band makes an arrival about an hour before kickoff and showcases the incredible talents of one the country's best college bands. Enjoy a New Glarus Spotted Cow beer and loaded brat and you'll think you're in heaven. Well, maybe it's just Madison, but it's about as perfect it is gets. Then join the band for short march under the Camp Randall arch for a nostalgic walk into the home of the Badgers.

Beautiful campus with magnificent lake views adjacent along one side. There is a visitor center near the quad and the Union Terrace is a must see - enjoy a hot coffee while taking in beautiful views of the lake. State Street which runs from the campus up to the capitol building is also bustling with all sorts of interesting little bistros and student shops.

I do not go to this school, nor do I even live in WI. I am visiting and thinking about transferring. My point is that all I am rating on right now is what I saw and explored - mixed with how we were treated by other students and staff. Had a great experience. The buildings are absolutely gorgeous and they have a really cool little alley with food carts. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and helpful. We were approached twice by people who could tell we were clearly lost!! HA. I appreciated that very much. Only 4 because I don't know how the actual classes or professors are there (yet?).

Watched the NCAA woman's Volleyball game tonight and as always Badgers crushed the opponents! Love the field house and the energy the crowd brings. Experience a game if you can

3rd generation UW grad with son enrolled as 4th generation. I had a positive undergraduate experience in the early 90s. Grandfathers on both sides graduated in 1930s and parents in 60s. On Wisconsin!

Fun day. We went in April with 10 & 7 year old. Rooftop and outside areas were too cold to use. A warmer day may have made the experience better. Kids definitely had a good time. Took about 2 hours. Several areas were a little too young for my 10 year old. Staff was kind and helpful.

It’s a touch on the expensive side if you’re just doing a day visit ($36 for 2 adults and 1 child); however in my opinion it’s worth every penny if you stay a few hours or more. The main area is pretty good size and 2.5 floors. There’s lots to do there with a few large playground type areas. I was disappointed at first until I realized (because it’s not very well marked) that there’s a great rooftop area and of course the ground level playground. When you add those in- along with a craft room for slowing down between runs- the place is an excellent overall experience. Plenty of bathrooms and some shared coats if you’re visiting in the winter like we did. Fun place- kid was happy!

Best time ever! My kids, 14 b, 7 b, & 4 g had so much fun. We are located in Milwaukee and frequent the museums here but there was so much life in Madison's Children's Museum! We loved all of the creativity and the fact that wherever you went you found something cool. I'm a 38-year-old adult and I thoroughly enjoyed myself lol. We so appreciate it all the hard work that was put into that building!

Decent place for kids to go see and play. I believe they could have made the place more bigger and have more things to see.

We go to a lot of children's museums and the Madison Children's Museum is special. Big spaces inside, lots of upcycled and sustainably sourced materials with natural non toxic materials (learned this on a special tour tonight). During the pandemic, they replaced a parking lot space with a beautiful climbing area, plantings, and a historic cabin that the kids can explore. One of the best and most aesthetically appealing play areas I've ever seen. There's a rooftop garden with a small waterfall and pond, with chickens, bunnies, and an exploration center with turtles, some fish, and a worm farm. Also some beautiful views of the lake and the State Capital building. Check out some of the pictures I posted - they do a better job of showing off what's there than words do. The museum offers lots of programs throughout the year, do check out their website if you're looking for a fun, educational excursion for your kids. And the art center has someone to craft for all ages, every day.

There was SO much to see and do my 3 year old was a little overwhelmed on our first visit, but the young kids are (5 and under) was perfect for her. That and the outdoor playground were great. I loved that there were so many nursing rooms! This one was a whole room in the 5 and under area. There were even quiet things for kids to play with while you nurse baby!

Don't miss this place! Guys if you have little kids you need to check this out! It's worth every penny! I went with my daughter she 8 years old ticket is $12 for her and $12 for me. We been there on Sat. since noon and no line to wait staff is very nice. Facilities is clean, restroom is clean... Ton of things to do and explore! Also things that they're can learned... In door and out door play ground in one place such an amazing fun place for kids with tiny budget. Totally satisfy and recommend!

This place is very well thought out and a sensory overload of fun, interesting, and interactive things!! There is a small "pay your own price" meals in a sitting area. Staff was great and had geckos and chickens to pet. Overall a great time and easily spent 2 hours exploring, learning, and playing!

This place is amazing, our kids did not want to leave! There are so many activities for lots of different ages, and crafts projects that you could make and take with you, I would highly recommend it. Our kids were four and eight when we went, and they were both completely engrossed.

I absolutely love this children’s museum! The art studio classes are fantastic and my kids could spend the entire day here. There’s something for everyone and art area caters to both adults and children. I highly recommend visiting!

My daughter and I took a mini mom and daughter trip to Madison. The fact that entrance fee is affordable was a plus but my daughter had so much fun playing and learning. I suggest taking a look at their calendar because they have activities throughout the day. We can't wait to revisit so she can enjoy their outside activities.

Buy the tickets online ahead of time. It’s just easier. This place is a great for all kiddos! 4 floors of activities, the rooftop animals are great, our little one loved the water room and spent most of the time there. The crafts floor with paint walls, coloring, cleaning, and various other crafts is a game winner. We spent hours there and I know we still didn’t see everything they had to offer. The price is decent. Being a member pays off too.

Huge and so much to do! They even have a 5 & under area that my son loved because there weren't so many big kids (he's a little shy). The rooftop had activities and live animals too!

I haven't been here in ages! What a cool way to spend a Sunday, no matter your age. And State Street right here to stroll down for lunch, GOT IT!! I suggest taking the stairs to discover a new way to get up or down ☺️......... Good luck and have fun.

As a family who travels a lot and goes to many children's museums, this museum was one of the best ones I've been to! They had amazing hands-on activities and exhibits. Our favorite sections were the art studio, the playground, and they had the most amazing interactive rooftop garden! I would highly highly recommend! The floor plan is easy to follow, The bathrooms were clean and accessible, and the staff was very friendly! They also participate in the museums for all program and have lots of low income or new mom price reduced tickets.

March 13th we all stopped in for a spring break getaway and the kids just ran wild. Place is great, plan to spend some time here 👍 we will be back

I came with a 3 and 8 year old. My 8 year old still had a great time even though a lot of the stuff is geared towards little kids. Their favorites were the window painting stations, the playground, and the chicken on the roof. I'd absolutely come back.

very surreal place in the center of the city with limited space but creative design and use of the space. including the wonderland as a real wonderland for kids (surrounded by all these high/tall buildings around but yet well preserved for kids). the roof garden took my breath away. I'll design something similar in my backyard.

Not big on contemporary wing, but an awesome collection of ancient pieces. Loved amphora and roman era coins; Greek and Egyptian items. Landscapes and other beautiful paintings from 15th to 18th centuries, much more. Highly recommended.

A fantastic yet free art museum nestled into the campus of UW Madison. Can easy cover the entire museum in 3-4 hours if you enjoy reading all the plaques next to the pieces. This museum is full of local to international thought-provoking works and houses rotating exhibits. Intersectional representation was noticed and appreciated. Staff were friendly and the museum was spotlessly clean.

The Chazen Art Museum is a great idea for a free date, over multiple days! It is impossible to see everything in an hour, so make sure you can accommodate to that!

Enjoyable collection of transcultural material objects. Three stories of work. I will probably visit again. I'd recommend spending at least an afternoon.

Possibly more apt as part of a science museum Oldenburg's 'Soft Screw' Sculpture is disintegrating over time, almost 40 years later, as seen at the tip of the sculpture. For scale, the length of the screw (shown in the image) is approximately one foot. The material used, Elastomeric Urethane, was originally envisioned to last "forever". Implications for such degradations extend well beyond the arts as this material type, and similar variants, has been used as, for example, an electrical insulator. Interesting, thought provoking place well worth a visit.

Wonderful Free Museum. The African American art exhibit was beautiful, emotional and inspiring- I’m glad to see this exhibit featured. I would plan an hour to walk through the whole museum, up to two hours if you are reading every artist statement. There is an elevator.

even after traveling all over the country and the world it still amazes me the amount of masterpieces in this free art museum. definitely one of my favorites, always has a lot of rotating peices. check this one out

Loved this collection. Really loved the Grandma Moses painting on the third floor. Even the design of the building with letting natural light in is pretty amazing.

the collections were not bad. some are full of emotions although I disagree w. above all, it's a free art museum which can free your mind for a bit, with well-structured space for anyone- to take a break/rest.

Love, love love this museum! Very accessible to students. There is a locker room to store your food and belongings before going to view the exhibitions. The museum also hosts a lot of community-centered events. Will recommend donating using the donation boxes across the museum.

What a beautiful place to experience some truly amazing art pieces. There was an exhibit on book art (graphic design love-fest) that I really enjoyed. The museum itself is a visual treat and add some beautiful pieces (check out my pics) and you have a must visit experience when you're in Madison. Oh, and it's free so make sure to schedule a visit! The third floor was closed when I visited but I could look up and see some huge canvases. Maybe next time it'll be fully functional.

Currently (Nov 2022), this museum has a large exhibit examining the racial inequality that many POC experience both on campus at UW and around the city of Madison (alongside the displacement and genocide of the natives that held this land). The top floors have further exhibits with a diverse curation of art (both in style and topics). I love.

Super, super amazing place to go on a field trip! The guide was informative, humorous, and natural. The displays were accurate, as well as incredible to admire.

I try to visit as many museums as possible when I travel, and I was not expecting to see a lot at such a "small" museum compared to the other places I've been, but boy was I wrong! Not only do they have a lot of exhibits spanning every war, but the amount of information you can take in and explore is very impressive! There were a bunch of kids there doing a scavenger hunt where they had to find answers to questions by going around and reading about each war throughout the exhibits. If you have even just an hour to spare I definitely recommend coming here, especially since it's free

This is a top notch exhibition! And, it was free admission! I had a wonderful time learning about the Civil War through a lifelike exhibition of men in uniform, in exhibits which make the experience come to life! The pictures, the stories, the personal artifacts, the medical tools and the ammunition examples! Wow! What an experience! This exhibition moved you through the succession of various wars with an emphasis of the role Wisconsin played in each. There were scenes set up that gave you a real experience of what it might have been like to see that bomber plane overhead, or be in the snow-covered landscape with what they had for provisions. There were model ships to depict how they contributed to the wartime efforts. Pictures of women's contributions, the multitude of soldiers Wisconsin sent into battle. From historical to more recent wars, every part of this museum touches your heart, offers a peak into the action and leaves you with a deep sense of both pride in the people that fought for our freedoms and a tenderness for those who lost their lives for ours. This museum is a must experience in Madison, WI. Additionally, the location directly across from our state's capitol, adds a unique aspect!

A very nice, free museum that is simple and to the point. I enjoyed browsing the war artifacts and the models of tanks and airplanes. The Veterans Museum also has very fun interactive exhibits, ranging from looking up potential relatives that served in the Civil War to hearing the war stories of WWII veterans. I definitely enjoyed this museum and I would definitely be back!

Amazing place! Such a walk through military history. So sad the photos we had from Hiroshima but amazing the fliers and pamphlets that were there from both sides of the war. Just amazing us history

A very impressive museum with finely crafted, life size war zone recreations and displays! Very appealing and educative for every age! All displays highlight almost all the US military engagements from the time of American civil war until the Vietnam war! Many of the original equipments including a combat aircraft and a helicopter on display.

Lots of interesting exhibits. Of course this old submariner was drawn to the fully functional periscope. Was a great exhibit. Highly recommend it.

Our school group has been here twice now and it has been great! Our tour guide was highly knowledgeable and engaged well with the students. So many cool stories of Veterans from Wisconsin.

I drove from out of town to spend the day running through the arboretum trails. I was disappointed in the condition of the trails. J4-J5 trail was closed. Many of the wooded trails J2-L8 were old cracked concrete that was not a pleasure to run on. Other dirt trails had large tire ruts from service vehicles. C3-C4-C6-B8 was large road gravel, very uncomfortable to walk on. No sidewalk on main drive either. I happened to find the Southwest Commuter Path which was quite nice albeit a little narrower than I am used too.

Very surprised this place doesn't get more attention, so much beautiful and vast land to explore! Well managed and seen after.

Great trails and hiking place. Very crowded on weekends. Parking gets filled quickly on Sundays. Lot of pedestrian and bikers drive carefully and also the visitor center closes at 4 pm.

I’ve been going here for hikes since I was little with my family and every year we come back in awe of how beautiful and calming it is. And it’s the perfect spot to go if you want to take family pictures! 100% recommend going!

The perfect place for walks and being in nature! The arboretum is stunning with all the nature and ample walking space. There are numerous walking trails. It is also perfect for riding a bike! It's also perfect to bring your kids and go explore.

Love love love driving around the arboretum! It is such a peaceful and calming place to be. It is usually very quiet and there are so many walking trails. The grounds open from 4:00am to 10:00pm daily. And there are trail guides for people to go through. Totally recommend this place as a must-see and experience in Madison!

Incredible arboretum. Walking through the prairies was absolutely magical. So many beautiful flowers, grasses, and insects. The colors were incredible, the paths were nice to follow, and there were good signs around. The pond had such an amazing variety of colorful dragonflies. I would come here again in a heartbeat and explore more of it. So nice on a summer day. Walking through the pines was nice and cool even though it was a pretty hot day.

A beautiful place to get ticks while enjoying a walk. I loved picking morels (though the “other” mushrooms I know from Amsterdam seem not to grow there). Random people say hello when meeting on trails, for some reason they didn’t like me answering “I don’t know you pal”. But nice place really.

Pedaling through the Arboretum was a pleasant way to go to and from classes at UW in the 1960s and 70s. I now visit and hike many of the trails as well, plus walking through the Gardens at various times to see how things change as the seasons pass. 2023 Update: I hiked the trails through the Curtis Prairie and Leopold Pines recently, an area that I've overlooked for too long. The Leopold Pines was a particularly serene area. I also finally observed the tunnel under the Beltline connecting the southern section of the Arboretum to the rest. All trails are well-marked with posts at intersections so be sure to pick up a copy of the Trail Map before hiking. October sights: In late October, the Arboretum's Black Tupelo, aka Carolyn, just outside the Visitor Center, is spectacular. October is also the month when Arboretum guides lead hikes from the Visitor Center to the "Lost City," a Madison WI failed real estate venture that would have changed the Arboretum for the worse, had it succeeded. The tour takes visitors along "Capitol Ave" to the ruins of a foundation of one of the early 1900s homes in the failed development. Fair warning, tours of the Lost City fill quickly.

Absolutely beautiful grounds and trails! We loved seeing the magnolias in bloom and walking the boardwalk. The Children’s Activity Area is fabulous for wiggly explorers!

I stumbled across the history of the arboretum while in town on vacation. I figured it was worth a hike, and I was not disappointed. We did the trails north and northeast of the visitor center with the Native American effigy mounds and ponds/wetlands. We spotted a small group of turkeys, a fawn, and even spotted a coyote. The trails were clean. The upland forest near the mounds is dominated by old oaks and hickories, with an understory of maples. It created really gorgeous fall colors. The prairie was beautiful as well with its fall oranges, yellows, and reds. Can’t wait to come back!

An intact, well preserved 1200 year-old canoe with net sinkers in the hull, was discovered in 27 ft deep area, and recovered for preservation . I can hardly wait to see it in 2023.

Wonderful place to go for a walk during winter. It took about half an hour to walk from the picnic point to the union terrace.

The lake was frozen for the whole winter ❄️ People can walk on it, and even play hockey 🏒✨

This is a fairly nice lake overall, but the amount of motorized traffic during the day, especially on weekends, makes it nearly impossible to use a canoe or kayak without spending most of one's time turning into big wakes. Fishing is solid, and one can catch nearly every warm water species. I like to fish for smallmouth along the University shore, Picnic Point, and Governor's Island areas. Most of the boat launches are very good, but the main drawback is how bad the water quality gets, especially during the two main algae blooms each summer.

We love the Duck Pond. The Duck Blind might be the best deal in town with all you can eat and drink during the baseball game. Their promo team does a great job each summer with the theme nights (like bark at the park!).

Fun game nice stadium, and got to watch some players from home. (Long Island) no bad seats in the place everyone very friendly. Great family event.

So much fun. They've added many activities for the kids. No cash, card only. N/A beer available. Fun for the whole family of all ages.

My family and I were taking a walk at Warner Park and the Mallards 🦆 gates were open so we walked up there to look around and 3 workers rudely stopped my kids and I as we were just looking and all 3 of the workers asked rudely could we help you? My kids are mixed but if it was a preppy white family, they wouldn’t have said anything to them. Racist!!!! I thought the Mallards 🦆 were kid friendly so we could just look but apparently not to my family! So, please do not support the Mallards 🦆, they are RACIST!

Home of the Madison Mallards! All of the off season updates have made the ballpark even more enjoyable with new and improved food offerings. The ballpark includes a kid zone to help tire out the little ones, a team shop to grab all of your merchandise and several food stands. There is a large parking lot but it is always easier to find a spot if you get there early. It is the cleanest ballpark I have ever visited which is a nice change. But really what is better than a ballgame and a hot dog?

My friends and I had a blast at the Madison Mallards game tonight! Overall, it was a great experience, especially because the team came out victorious. We indulged in some food as well, which, though a little pricey, was what you'd expect at a ballpark. The BBQ on site was absolutely delicious, it’s provided by Beef Butter BBQ so you know it's good! However, there were a couple of downsides. Firstly, it would be awesome if they added fries as an option at the BBQ place. That would complete the meal perfectly. Secondly, the green metal chairs were a tad narrow for my comfort. It would be fantastic if they offered some wider seating options or even chairs without armrests. But hey, these minor issues didn't overshadow the fun we had. Can't wait to catch another game at Madison Mallards!

It's always fun at the ole ballpark, but the Madison Mallards make any game exciting. The day starts with Maynard the Mallard ziplining in, all kinds of between inning fun and some nights the bat dogs coming out to get the bats. Reasonably priced entertainment for the whole family!

Duck blind was tons of fun! They cut the beer off after 2 1/2 hours though, which we weren’t aware of. However, a fun evening at the ballpark, and good baseball!

The seating in the Arch Solar Suite was awesome. Food was great along with a variety of drinks. The staff was super friendly and helpful.

Always fun at the Mallard's games. We were in the Budweiser Deck. Food was great and a good selection of Craft Beer. Fireworks 🎆✨ topped off a fun night.

The stadium is very well-managed. It's very clean with lots of food options. It gives me a small-town feel in a big city.

This is a great ballpark. The parking is free. The atmosphere is very nice for the family and kids and adults who want to enjoy a game with an adult beverage. They have little events going on the field between innings making it great fun for kids. They have large air-filled baseballs that the kids can tap around in the stands, they do a shirt toss, and many other fun things for the kids. The music playing between innings is also great. For $41 you can purchase "Duck Blind" seating which includes all food and drinks (included many varieties of beer). Mixed drinks are $3 per drink. It isn't assigned seating so get there early to reserve a group of tables and chairs. It fills up on the weekends. Great fun. Excellent price! I would go again for sure.

The Duck Blind general admission is a great deal. All you can eat beer, soda, and beer.

One of my favorite things to do in Madison in the summer. Work events or just a night out to catch a game fun for all. The Duck Blind is fantastic value or just sit in the stands and hope for the beer batter to strike out! Oh yeah and the baseball ⚾ is good too!(always forget that part!! 😃)

Highly recommend watching a wrestling event at the Kohl Center! This was a first time visit for my family. I was also an awesome opportunity for my son to watch his cousin wrestle state. I can't wait to return for a different sporting event.

Great venue. Comfortable seats and easy to navigate concourse. Food is all very good too! Way closer to downtown square than you think. Don't get ripped off by $50 parking. Go to Capitol Square South garage and pay $10 flat fee on weekends (less for a weeknight game) and take a 15-minute stroll down Mifflin Street!!

My daughter's and I went to our first UW Volleyball game and it was so awesome for it to be at the Kohl Center and not the UW Field House. Even though the Lady Badgers lost to Florida, lifetime memories were made, and we are part of history with the NCAA record attendance. There's not a bad seat anywhere. Concessions are basic but it fills the hole.

1st time I've been to Kohl Center for any event. Shania Twain concert there was amazing..thanks to my eldest! We had no trouble finding seats or anything. We got there super early..when the doors finally opened at 6pm things flowed smoothly. Nice experience

Went to the UW Men's Hockey game last night. Great atmosphere. Decent prices at concession stand. And the Badgers beat Notre Dame 2-0. Parking only one block away ($15). Today, 1/6/24, we watched the UW Mens badketball team beat Nebraska by 19 points.

I came to a Womens Basketball game here it was awesome! The experience was really great. Very easy in and out at the arena I was really impressed, easy to find parking too. The facility is SO nice everything is very clean, bathrooms included. I didn't try any food that game but it smelled good. They have a merch store in the arena which was great so I grabbed some stuff there. And I was also impressed with the accessibility of the arena, hallways and doorways were nice and wide and the accessible seating looked great too. Looking forward to coming back for more games!

Super friendly staff. Moved us to better seats due to my knee problems with stairs. Food and beverages are overpriced. Toto and Journey concerts sounded great! Easy to leave and grab an Uber. Great experience, thanks!
