Riverbanks Zoo & Garden is fabulous! We absolutely love it here and have been visiting regularly for 10+ years. The animal variety is second to none. The layout of the zoo flows very nice to ensure you can enjoy each stop to see all that it offers during your visits. The staff do a great job of keeping the zoo very clean and safe. They are very, attentive, and provide excellent service every time we are there. The expansions keep coming and continue improving and evolving this Zoo into one of the best visits you and your family can make. If I was going to provide a critique, I would recommend more fans through out the park. South Carolina (especially in the midlands) can get very hot and humid during the summer months and that heat can make visiting the park a less than pleasant experience if you are not use to the heat down here (heck even if you are 😂). More fans through out the park would add to the already amazing atmosphere and help create some more much needed cool zones through out. One last add. Please visit during the Halloween and Christmas events. They are fantastic and highly recommended. For adults the Brew at the Zoo is one of the best attractions around. Enjoy!

This was an amazing experience! The $5 parking is worth it if you are wanting to go to the botanical gardens/splash pad first or last on your visit. The prices were fair for adults at $26 for how big of a zoo it is! There were some of every animal including giraffes you can feed, a kangaroo exhibit you can walk through, and sea lions you can stand next to. Animals included monkeys, gorillas, lions, tigers, snakes, birds of all kinds, goats, alpacas, bears, otters, tortoises, penguins, tropical fish, jellyfish, sea turtles, koalas, sloths, and so much more. I even tried out the ropes course within the zoo (requires shoes w/ heel strap) which was priced at $7 for non-members. It was a good ropes course for the price! I do recommend having a parent or older sibling go up with a younger child if they're new to ropes courses. The height can be a fear factor and the way the harness is attached to the top of the course can make it harder for smaller kids to reach in order to move around the course. As an adult, it's a fun add-on especially if you're looking for some more thrill with your zoo experience. The botanical gardens were gorgeous! They were located right next to the $5 parking and the tram. Overall, I really enjoyed visiting the Riverbanks Zoo and all of the staff here were polite and happy.

Wild Nights was awesome! Really looked great from the front gate fungi/coral to the animated creatures. Went on Black Friday with family in town for the holidays. Highly recommend buying tickets in advance as another group mentioned it was already sold out when we arrived right after 5pm. The kids loved that the train and carousel were both running. The person at the gate was very helpful as we had multiple ticket purchases across several confirmation emails. Would definitely go again.

A place where families can come and witness animals from around the world in a protected and safe environment. The Riverbanks Zoo rescues animals from around the globe to rehabilitate them and care for them with such love. The zoo is filled with a variety of animals ranging from tigers, lions, gorillas, and birds from all countries. This place is clean, family friendly, and caters to all ages. If you're ever in Columbia, SC, I would definitely recommend this place for a fun family outing. If you wish to take friends, you can purchase yearly passes that give you 4-8 guest passes, depending on your choice of yearly pass.

The zoo is well maintained, clean, and organized. There’s a $5 dollar fee for the parking and they have plenty of parking spaces. You can book in advance “behind the scenes” to pet some of the animals. (Check their website). If you go early in the morning you can feed the giraffes. There are plenty of restrooms around, some of them smell bad and are messy, specially If the zoo is pretty busy. The bird part smells bad but is just the smell of the birds. Just be aware. They rent strollers Gift shop available They have photographers at the entrance with a giant green screen. They have an interactive farm for kids, a carousel, and more. Food and drinks from outside are not allowed.

we love this place! this is my fourth time at the riverbanks zoo, and it's never failed to please. easy access, plenty of parking, affordable ticket prices (I recommend getting the extended bracelet deal, feeding the giraffes is part of it, and it's really worth it). the animals seem to be well taken care of, and if you go earlier in the day, you'll be able to see everyone waking up and hanging out (the otters were especially excited for the sunshine and company). definitely dress comfy and bring plenty of water! there's lots of shade and several drinking fountains, but it was nice to have our own on hand. this was our first time making it up to the gardens, and that was also really worth the trip up. the waterfall splash area is great for the kiddos in the heat. I believe there's a lot on the west side where you can park and the access is much easier for the gardens and play area. all around great time!

The zoo was awesome! There were a lot of nice animals, and the enclosures/habitats were more than adequate for the animals. Healthy animals! My favorite places to visit had the flamingos and the lions. They had a grizzly bear, which I had not seen before. The botanical gardens were nice, as well. Small, but nice. There is a tram that takes you from the zoo to the garden. It took me and my partner about 3.5 hours to do the zoo and the garden.

I visited her in the spring, and it was fantastic. We enjoyed feeding the giraffes. We were able to get up close to the gorillas even though their enclosure is going through renovations. I loved the sea lion exhibit. The aquarium had just recently opened back up and was super crowded. We were not able to check that out, but it looked super nice from the outside. My daughter and nephew loved all the activities this zoo offers. This zoo is very well kept, and the animals looked happy and healthy.

Went this past week with my nieces (1 yo) and they had a blast. There are lots of exhibits and we saw all of them and stayed for about 2 hours total. We were able to see all of the animals except the tiger(s). My nieces especially loved the aquarium and the penguin exhibit. We got to see them performing maintenance/cleaning in one of the aquarium tanks which was pretty cool. Also got to see a couple of young gorillas nursing. I would recommend bringing some bug spray and sunscreen. There’s a lot of tree cover and canopies at exhibits providing shade throughout the park but there are also areas in direct sunlight at many of the exhibits. The park overall was very clean and there was lots to do. Also recommend going during the week/off season as the temperature is cooler so you’re able to see more animals and it is WAY less busy. There were maybe a max of 5 other people at an exhibit with us. Did not see or visit the garden this time, but definitely have plans to visit next time. This was our 2nd time making the trip to this zoo and we will definitely be back!

Beautiful and spacious zoo. There are unique animals that live here, that are not at a typical zoo. Lots of shade to keep you cool while viewing the animals. And very, very clean! The enclosures have lots of space and the animals seemed happy and energetic, compared to other zoos I’ve visited. There are friendly zookeepers posted around the zoo to share interesting information on the animals. They were well informed and were able to answer all the questions we asked. My favorite part was visiting the Kangaroos. You are able to actually go inside the enclosure (while staying on the path) to view the kangaroos from a short distance without any fence or obstruction blocking your view. The experience felt up close, but was a safe distance away. We enjoyed the trek up the trail to the garden through dense trees that felt like it’s own separate space from the zoo. The garden is well taken care of and has a calming atmosphere. We then rode the tram back down the trail where we were brought back to the zoo. It is nice the facility offers the tram at no extra cost. Overall, we had a great time! This is probably my favorite zoo now.

I visited with my kids here during the Christmas holidays. The weather was pleasant. There was no wait line at the ticket counter. The charges for kids and adults are almost the same. It's not very big zoo but there are lots of animals and well maintained. There are more than one lion, tiger, orangutan and many more. There are different animal talk times for more information. With special bands you can go near few animals like giraffe, feed birds and play games. Sometimes the layout gets confusing but it's small enough to trace the steps back. The alligator 🐊 was not there. There are lots of picnic tables. I could go near kangaroo 🦘. Zoo rangers are always nearby and helpful with information or directions. There are many eating outlets. It's a good to spend with kids.

The zoo was pretty big, and had a good selection of animals. Compared to other zoos I've visited, it was ok. Animals were on the smaller size, and the one grizzly bear we saw looked like he had mange (fur was patchy in several places). The plus for me was that you can take the free tram to the botanical gardens which was included in the ticket price. That was my favorite part. Walking through the gardens was a nice outing, and there were places with seating, food, activities, and a splash park for kids. Overall I enjoyed it.

I would recommend getting here EARLY and leaving before 1-2pm. It gets extremely busy after lunch time, but aside from that I had a wonderful time! I had to bring my service dog with me and the staff were respectful and understanding! There are some places you aren’t allowed to go with a service animal but that is understandable and totally fine! Bathrooms were kept clean and smelled fine, there wasn’t trash or debris everywhere. The animals confinements looked clean and well taken care of which was a favorite of mine! I will say it took a while to get our food when we went up to a food truck. This was at lunch time and the place was getting pretty crowded by then. I had an absolute blast here and will definitely come back.

I dropped in unexpectedly, looking to get some steps in. Lots of trails and flora. Many places to sit and take a load off. You can walk from the garden to the zoo, it's only 3/10 mile. Zoo was a bit more crowded, but pretty cool....and they sell beer 😁. Check out Saluda Ruins, BEAUTIFUL walk and an interesting story. I was there for about 2 hours and got in my 10k steps.

Well worth the visit! I went with my wife and 2 kiddos, oldest is 9. We really liked the aquarium with a wide variety of up close exhibits. The ocean exhibit had numerous "Coming Soon" attractions. Note that to ride the carousel or do the climbing wall, you must buy extra tickets like at a carnival, but the prices are not ridiculous. When we went, the carousel cost $2 per ride. We also let our daughter try the high ropes obstacle course. This was another fee ($7 per person) but well worth it. Mom and Dad enjoyed the bridge and trails to the botanical gardens, which was included with the zoo admission. Great family outing!

Free zoo map is available. I was able to see all the animals so close. Was also able to feed a giraffe and brush the goats. They are very cute. Don't forget to get some merchandises too on the way to the parking lot.

I've always loved the zoo, and now I get the joy of taking my girls. I do suggest a membership as it pays for itself and tickets are pricey but it's worth it. We usually take snacks with us and we have the souvenir cups. We love doing boo at the zoo and the lights at the zoo

Such a great place to bring the family to! The kids loved seeing the animals and learning about all them. Love their aquarium area too! So neat to see them all and watch the kids eyes light up with joy over seeing how they live. If you haven’t gone yet I’d strongly suggest going asap!

Beautiful zoo, kept clean, prices are as you'd expect going to any big park these days. Good food variety, as well as snacks, drinks. Tons of animal exhibits, overall great for the fam & everyone! Great parking options.

Took advantage of the last free Friday for this month. First time at the zoo and was not disappointed. Only spent about 2 1/2 hours but really enjoyed. I pretty much stuck to one side of the zoo this time and will explore the other half later on. Highly recommend. The only thing I wish they had was more food options but I’m not complaining because i know how that goes but I went prepared! Took my own food!

Very well put together Zoo and Gardens. There is a lot of various animals to see, such as gorillas, giraffes, kangaroos, grizzly bear, sea lions and so forth. I recommend you bring some water for your walk around this zoo you will be doing a lot of walking especially if you want to walk across the pedestrian bridge. There are a couple different options you can take to get to and from the Zoo side and the Botanical Garden side. One way is taking the Woodland Trail beginning on the garden side. Next would be taking the walking path that runs along the Tram Road it is rather steep. Finally is the Tram with are two Ford Super Duty Pickups with three “wagons” attached behind each pickup it will take you to and from the Zoo side and the Garden side. There however is usually a wait for the Tram. We chose to walk the path along the Tram road. This Zoo was extremely crowded. It is probably best if you try to go on a weekday. We went on a Saturday it was extremely busy. I highly recommend checking out the gift shop and buying a souvenir. This is one of the best Zoos I have been to.

We had a great time,animals were cool food was good and wait times were a bit long on a few things but other wise it was great, it’s very nice and nothing is to far apart so it’s not that bad when walking from place to place extra things were very affordable being 2 dollars a person just so you know the zoo does a coin system kind of so if you want to do an extra and you had 3 people it would 6 dollars with each coin being 1 dollar a piece,extras were very cool with the extras being feeding giraffes,feeding birds and other things. I would recommend getting to the zoo as early as possible because it gets crowded very fast you could get to see more things actually moving and running around and that’s just a few things to keep in mind.

God have us an absolutely perfect day for our visit! It was 75°, partly cloudy, and a gentle breeze. Although it was fairly busy, everyone moved along through all the exhibits quickly. I'd have to say that our group's highlights were feeding the Coconut Lorikeet, walking among the kangaroos, and visiting the botanical garden (took the tram up). It's a great place for kids of all ages. The garden has quite a few play areas of all different themes and many water features. The kids were having a blast in the water activities. They even have a cabana for bathing suit changes. It's a "must see" if you're in the area. We'll be visiting again in the future.

Came to the zoo in the morning. Most animals were out as breakfast was being served to some of the animals. It was pleasant that the weather was cool, so a light coat or long sleeves did the trick. By the time it was 11 a.m., it warmed up. Not very crowded, it was nice to walk through and take some time to see the animals starting their day. Since it was 9:30 am when I got in, not many food/drink places were available until closer to 11, so I purchased a bottle of water from one of the vending machines and kept exploring. If you're looking for a slower pace to venture, I recommend the morning, I enjoyed it.

Riverbank zoo is a all day adventure for the family! I recommend buying tickets online as somedays it's packed here. Always building new and exciting exhibits for the animals. This is definitely a all day trip for all ages. Many many animals to see and multiple locations thay are indoors and cooled when you get too hot. There is also petting zoo areas and small rides like a train and carousel for the little ones. They do sell food and drinks there but they are very very expensive. We bring food and eat it outside on the benches then go back inside.

Riverbanks Zoo is always a fun day for the kids. Even after multiple visits, it never gets old. A great way for the kids to get their energy out. They absolutely love it when Waterfall Junction is open and love the giraffe feeding, too! The grounds and gardens are always beautiful!

This is a great Zoo. Downside is make sure you get the wristbands to actually participate in feeding the 🦒 and doing a good amount of things the kids will want to do. Downside was we didn't see the large tortoise or many monkeys. There were no cats available to view either as a lot of exhibits were being renovated. The food is definitely not great, everything costs so much these days. Expect to spend at least $160 for a few hours and 2 people. Clean, well staffed and easy to find.

Here visiting for the weekend and came on a Friday. Really enjoyed this zoo! I think it is very kid friendly and has a lot of activities for them to do, not just see the animals. We came at a good time (10 am) so most of the animals were pretty active. We enjoyed seeing the reptiles and Gorillas the most. It was definitely busy that day due to many schools having field trips to the zoo. They only really had snacks around the park, which is expected at a zoo. I do recommend doing to Tuskers if you real food while visiting though. We also really enjoyed walking the Garden trails. I highly recommend checking out this zoo!

Other than the number of people, we had a great time. The staff was nice and all the animals were out. Can't wait to go on a weekday and be able to take our time watching the animals.

We got there at 1pm and had enough time to stop by most the exhibits, but many of the animals were sleeping. I'd recommend getting there earlier so you can go back to see the animals you missed on the first round. The zoo itself was not very big, so you can easily make a couple laps. The parking lot was hectic when we got there (1pm on a Saturday), but once we got past the entrance, we found many open spots, while others were fighting for closer parking.

Great museum with multiple levels of interesting exhibits to view. Short historical movies were free for viewing. Great lunch cafe if you’re hungry and gift shop on first floor. Would recommend to others.

I’ve been to the museum multiple times, as I am a local. Which also means I’ve seen many different exhibits featured here. I believe the museum is well known for the massive great white shark hanging in the entrance and can be seen from every level of the museum (4 floors ). While it’s very impressive it’s also very intimidating for younger visitors as well. My most previous trip here was a random Tuesday in April. Total spur of the moment with my 4 year old son, sister and nephew (2 years old). My son thought the giant shark was the coolest thing ever and my nephew couldn’t run away fast enough (he was leashed to his momma and just about pulled her down he ran so fast 😂). After convincing him it wasn’t going to eat him we saw the cool dinosaur exhibit, explored prehistoric times, walked the many different destinations SC has to offer, learned about SC history and saw the planetarium 🪐 they are currently completing renovations on multiple floors, so many of the hands on exhibits and interactive displays were gone. Honestly the 3rd and 4th floors held very little interest for everyone. The museum is geared more towards older kids interested in history. Although it’s a great place to visit, make sure to check the website to see what new exhibits they have and if any are unable to access. In the past they have had some great exhibits, you just have to keep an eye out. All in all, it’s a great place to take friends and family from out of town or a trip to the past on a random Tuesday with your kiddos to reminisce about horse and buggy times, rotary phones, and 1970’s televisions. Definitely a must visit when in South Carolina 💖

What a fun place to discover a little bit about everything. The stars, the sea, the land, technology, people. This museum has it all and everyone at every age is sure to have fun. The is a cafe for snacks, a gift shop, planetarium, and hands on activities throughout. It is four levels of fun. It is handicap accessible and elevators are handy. It is a lot of walking so if you do have mobility issues they have provided benches throughout for a rest.

Although it's showing its age in places (some of the exhibits are 25+ years old) the museum is clearly undergoing a renewal. Many signboards and displays have recent updates, exhibits are being tweaked, new displays are going on. It's true this isn't the state of the art museum it was in the early 90s, but it's still a solid place to pick up on state history and I still love coming here to see what's been updated since my last visit. Watching the changes from one visit to the next in almost real time has been pretty exciting! In good weather, definitely check out the observatory. Even if it's closed due to clouds or rain, they're always happy to have a chat about the telescope and show off pictures they've taken with it, which is extremely cool. The updated space exhibits are also fantastic, as are the telescopes on display and the recent acquisitions hall. Showing its age in places, yes, but like I said it's still definitely worth the visit.

Staff were pretty friendly. I was with a large group of people. I believe there could of been a better explanation of how we could navigate the area. There was construction going on during this time. Like any museum the food in the cafe was over priced for the quality of food. There are 4 floors so be sure to wear comfortable shoes. The hours are work friendly.

The state museum really is a Columbia treasure. I've been going my whole life and now take my kids, ages 6 and 8. They are just now getting to the age where they understand and appreciate what they're seeing. I'd say any younger than 6 it's probably a better idea to check out the children's museum across the street, Edventure. This museum is definitely geared towards ages 7-8 and up, in my opinion. You can easily spend 3-4 hours at the state museum, especially if you stop to read things. There's so much rich history in SC! The planetarium theater is awesome and we've enjoyed the different shows featured over the last year or two. The 4D theater is cool, but if you have a little one scared by sudden noises, feels, etc I'd skip it. Certain films have effects where they may mist you with water, the seat may vibrate, or you may feel some other sensation. So just know that in advance. My Boys love the military exhibits, dinosaurs, and space exploration exhibits the best. There's also a very impressive telescope collection, lots of prehistoric animals, a look at transportation and daily life over the years, life of the early Native Americans, and so much more!

What an absolutely overwhelming experience this museum is. We spent nearly 3 hours exploring and only saw maybe half of what there is to see. It has everything from history to science, to amazing planetarium shows that are worth every penny. I can't wait to make it back to Columbia to see the rest!

This museum is AMAZING! 4 floors of soooo much information and exhibits. I got there at 11 thinking I’d be there thinking I’d be there just a couple hours but 4hrs later I was still there enjoying myself. Such a great way to spend a day.

Great place to explore. The building itself is cool. The planetarium is a great experience. Also do the observatory. Impressive telescope and knowledgeable staff. The other displays throughout are fantastic, but there isn't much change. Still, I enjoyed repeated visits. The manually powered submarine model is fascinating. We went this last time for the eclipse. The staff members really make you feel welcome.

Really awesome museum! I highly recommend visiting! Probably plan on showing up earlier in the day if you do plan to go.

My daughter and I had a wonderful time exploring the exhibits. Make sure you plan to spend the entire day as there is a lot to see. My daughter really enjoyed the fossils, space, and habitat exhibits. We visited on a Friday and had very little traffic in the exhibits. There were a handful of other guests and one field trip. Something of note, the bathrooms are being renovated so they are few and far between. We ate lunch at the cafe, which had a small wait but was fair priced.

It is always a great place to take friends and family from out of town. Fun and educational. 4D educational films are available also. The NASA exhibit is really cool.

Ever since I can remember I have loved coming to the museum! I love the exhibits, even the ones they've had for years and years! There's so much to see and do and I learn something new each trip. I'm excited (and also slightly sad) that they are updating some of the older exhibits. I'll miss the old classics but I'm looking forward to whatever is next!

Really enjoyed the museum. The telescopes were some of my favorite things but I really loved seeing a piece of the moon! Really interactive parts and a great mix of science, history, and nature! I would recommend this place to anyone and I would especially encourage checking out one of the shows in the large dome.

Nice, well curated museum. It contains information mostly on South Carolina and it's history and ecology, but there is also a sound and light exhibit.

A nice museum over several floors: 2-3 hours recommended to fully experience the site. Free public WiFi available, free parking, and a cafe on site as well.

You can tell it's built with huge budget. It doesn't have expensive dinosaur bones. However, they managed to make it look interesting and diverse. It definitely shows quality and character

Educational museum. Great promotion on the first Sunday of the month, entry is $1. I'm delighted with the planitarium. You can also visit the 4D cinema. There is a cafe and children's activities.

Wonderful and so full of interesting South Carolina, natural, and technology history (radio, TV, automobile) and earth science that we couldn't finish. Fascinating telescopes, a small cafe, and dioramas too. Great for all ages.

This was a letdown in a lot of ways. The displays were vast spectacles of nothingness. Large dioramas made more to take up space and less about educational content. Many, if not all of the interactive displays were broken or in some state of disrepair.

My son and grandkids live in Irmo. We were visiting from NY and found this museum and planetarium a fantastic place. We arrived for the 1:30pm show and it was OK. But the history in the museum was amazing. We only had a couple of hours to go through the museum but you really need half a day to take eveything in. When we return we will certainly come back again and spend more time.

My first time visiting and I enjoyed walking the grounds of the SC State House. The staff on-site were very friendly and informative. I wish I could of stayed to explore more, but it was a hot day.. and my children were not very thrilled to be walking around in the heat. We will be back though once the weather cools down a bit.

Definitely recommend a stop here. There is also a parking garage near by and a short walk to the main street area as well. We spent a solid hour just outside walking around the grounds. Very beautiful building and interesting history here. Lots of it. The stairs and view outside is worth going to view alone. When facing the building from main street the original building was a little to the right until it was burnt down in a war. The city was great to view and enjoy for the bringing in of the new year. The fireworks were great and wonderful to watch from the middle of main street and the oldest streets in the city.

Beautiful state capital. The grounds and all the history present is wonderful. So proud that the South Carolina state capital counties to honor the citizens of its past . Beautiful Confederate monuments on grounds. Love showing my family our countries history. Great job !

Highlight of my Columbia visit. Awesome grounds very well kept. Nice statuary and interesting stories about origins and age of trees planted. The capital building itself had great architecture and artwork. Stained glass windows were awesome pictures cant do justice. Lawmakers were not in session so we could look anywhere there wasn't a locked door. Well worth visit. Don,t bring any knives, guard took my swiss army and held it at guard station til done looking around, nice polite man too.

Visited the State House on Saturday after visiting the Soda City Market a block away. The security guard was very friendly & courteous. We removed our personal belongings to be x-rayed & walked through the metal detector without issue. We did not take the free tour, but wandered around on our own. 3 floors & not all rooms are open. There’s a gift shop on exit. Make sure you walk around the grounds outside. Very nice state house.

By far South Carolina State Capital grounds were the prettiest we’ve seen out of 30+ Capitals that we’ve been to 🏢⛪️ 🌸🌼🌺🌷

I live nearby to the State house itself. We generally go for walks there. The state house is a tourist attraction which show cases the African American history. It’s a must see place for everyone who visits Columbia, South Carolina. They have great architecture and have statues of important personnel. Also, the place is well lit for Christmas. It is Located in downtown Columbia, Visitors can take free guided and self-guided tours of the South Carolina State House. It is open Mon-Sat until 5pm

Exquisite architecture, paintings, history and workmanship at this state house. Beautiful grounds. Statues and monuments outside. Inside there is a very nice gift shop. You can take a guided tour or if you have watched the interesting and detailed video on the dot gov site, you will have gotten a good background on the state house, so that you can tour yourself with a sufficient understanding of the place.

The South Carolina capitol was quite busy and festive. We had to wait our turn to take a photo with the huge Christmas tree. There were other festive displays that people were taking pictures with. There is a parking lot across the street that wasn't busy and offered metered parking.

The grounds of the State House and the building itself are worth a visit. Both are impressive and filled with history, but we really like walking around the grounds. There is a scavenger hunt sheet and map on their website that can be downloaded, and it is filled with interesting facts about the monuments and gardens. There is a lot to see here. If you visit on the weekends, there are usually parking spaces on Sumter Street right next to the grounds available.

Had a good time at the State House on yesterday. Received a tour around some parts of the building. I will tell you to wear good shoes. I got my exercise in yesterday!! There are soo many stairs to climb. My legs are screaming today. Great experience if you get a chance to stop by.

Absolutely amazing to see the architectural beauty this building has to offer. Off street parking and easy to walk around the property to explore the area. If you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth a visit.

The state house is open for the public. You can enter from the left side of the building just go through the security check. There is guided tour or you can just go around with the pamphlet. The three storey building is a magnificent piece of art. Kids were super excited to see the inside and got to take lots of pictures too. Definitely worth visiting if you are around the area.

Beautiful state house - arrived too late to get to see the inside on this trip although I’ve been in previously. Can spend a solid hour looking at the various monuments and beautiful landscaping surrounding the building. Kids loved running up and down the steps.

Got a degree in 2019 via the “Palmetto College.” Life appeared good. The covid mess shut down everything as I started looking for jobs! Still having hope in my college degree, I started to look for jobs after the extreme covid mess calmed down…no jobs hire college students now. I went to school for nothing!!! I even called to see if the Palmetto College degree even had value, to see if I actually had a degree. So now I owe money on garbage, college landfill garbage. I am academically advanced to flip burgers. Don’t go to college. Don’t. USC has no regard for graduates. Handshake? Garbage. Don’t offer regional campuses when the regions don’t even network with regional area jobs. I am #!%~ing mad! I regret my years in college. I could have rotted without my degree and degree debt. Oh, and don’t expect to afford payments on 10 dollars hourly. So, anyone stay away!!!!! Don’t go. What an absolute shame!!!!

Quiet and good place to focus on your school away from other busy cities. There are great teachers who are willing to help you if you ask. A lot services are provided by the school to help students with their school and social work. It get boring sometimes because it is a small city but overall there are a lot of activities to do

Couldn’t be more disappointed to a university which sent an offer message, and as late as two days afterwards told me that it was a “clerical error.” Even worse, after the declination, the migration office sent me messages of congratulations and guidance on how to get a VISA in order to study there. Wow, what an unforgettable series of nightmares!

L, this university is filled with Mold. I couldn’t focus with the train horns always going off. Some professors like to manipulate our thinking into being in a “I’m poor” mindset. One professor was so old and skinny and he chucked a white board eraser across the room when a student asked a ‘boring’ question. They also don’t put enough care into engineering students: how are engineering students supposed to maintain a certain gpa within a scholar program in which people could take other easier majors and have it easy until later in life. But to just exist here it felt like 20 years in the past. Everything is old. The way things run are outdated and don’t make sense. About half the buildings and student housing need to be condemned. The city is a disaster of a mess. Parking is impossible when the whole city has to park somewhere too. I don’t have any hopes for this university succeeding in creating future students of America.

Just passed through whilst visiting Columbia, and I was quite impressed. The trees were outstanding and tall, the buildings were old but still looked good, and there was a fairly distinctive campus feel despite being in a rather large city. The palmettos make the campus much nicer and southern-feeling, and the various live oaks around campus give a very “Old South” feel. Cannot attest to the academics, though I did see a lot of “frat boy-types” and wondered if this school has that type of culture. The few people I chatted with were very nice and welcoming, and I would recommend visit the McKissick Museum or other places around here to get a sense of the culture and history of the school. G(oh) Cocks! Cheers.

Fantastic campus setting. First time visit and was impressed with the architecture and upkeep of the entire area. It will be a great 1st year experience for my son.

Amazing first college experience wish I could go back every day

It's definitely a Beautiful place, GORGEOUS campus, with loyal faculty, staff, professors, teachers, administrators, security, coaches, players, and a host of students with smiling faces everywhere. One of the biggest school in the state of South Carolina and most definitely one of my favorite schools.

We had so much fun spending the day at this museum. This museum is a great way for kids to learn through play. Lots of hands on activities. The ladies working in the science area were so sweet. They were helping my boys learn about circuitry. I was very impressed with how they took the time to interact with my kids. We will definitely plan another trip here.

We enjoyed our visit at Edventures. There were lots of okay areas for my 5 year old and 1 year old. There were also scheduled activities throughout the day outside the museum exhibits such as an art and cooking activity which my 5 year old enjoyed. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Only downside I would say is there's no working dine in venue at the moment.

A great experience. My son loved it he went wild from the fire fighter truck, to the publix marketplace, to upstairs in the aircraft & spaceship! Not bad in price & the wait was kinda not bad too I really didn't think it was gonna be alot of people/kids, went on a Saturday so it was kids all ages everywhere lol

Nice little science museum with some fun activities. Not amazing for a full day but okay for a couple hours. I would become a member if we lived closer to make the price worth it. Eddie is a neat exhibit and is designed for climbing with a slide too. Upstairs the craft area has potential but depends on what other kids have already been through.

Overall it is absolutely amazing but we came on a Tues at 9 am from outta town and there was some kind of camp. So Many kids from the camp using all the activity areas that my kids couldn't really enjoy anything here. Now we did notice other groups here in a field trip and those kids took turns and my kids were able to play with those groups. But that actual edvventure camp go-ers made it not as enjoyable as it could have been. We will definitely be back, but hopefully not when they have camps inside the building.

Showed up at noon on a Friday. A lot of people, but parking was fine and accessible. Lots of stuff for the kids, they had endless fun. Family rooms to change babies in. Only negative is no cafeteria and gift shop is small. Staff is professional and polite and cost is cheap. Would definitely come back!

My 9 year old daughter loves it. Fun place to go, lots of craft areas and things to do. Educational but fun. I even got to make attire to go to a Carolina Panthers game.

This place is amazing! A great little way to spend some time letting kids run around, explore and learn. My son is 6 yrs old and autistic, he loved it and can't wait to go back. So many things for them to climb on and touch. Children on state assistance also get a discounted rate on admission.

Fun place but so DIRTY. All the play equipment is covered in dust. My throat literally started burning after about an hour from all the dust. The stairs to the newsroom look like they’ve never been vacuumed. Eddie looks like he’s never been touched with any cleaning product. It’s disgusting. Lots of exhibits were out of order, broken or didn’t have the materials needed. Also, the bathroom doors by the kitchen were propped open and when we walked by we saw a man using a urinal!! We immediately went to the front desk and told them you can see people using the bathroom with the door open. When we went back to use the restroom 30 minutes later, the door was still left open and the tribal was totally visible. Why anyone thinks that an appropriate to leave the door open and expose kids to that is beyond me. Also, lots of the restrooms (including the family one!!) were out of order and didn’t have soap. The museum has great potential but it needs someone to manage it and clean it.

The kids always have a great time. Lots of things to do. My granddaughters was there with her class on a field trip and she loved the class they had for the students. The only thing is I wish they had a functional cafeteria. Just something small and quick would be great.

Great Family Adventure at Edventure. The kids climbed through the insides of a giant child / playground - how cool!! From fire engines to airplanes to grocery stores to TV studios, this is the place for imaginary play. I appreciate too that they gave a military discount. Be sure to ask.

Love this museum! Had family visit from out of town and their children loved it! At the time, it was busy and crowded due to various schools (field trips) and families. Admission is affordable and they do provide wrist bands for safety reasons. However, there was still plenty to do and see. You have two levels in the building for play along with outside activities as well. Multiple activities for any child at any level. They have: a garden, supermarket, tractor, fire truck, topics on fire safety, huge Lego blocks, a library area, Big Eddie, cockpit of an airplane, space exploration and so much more. There is a gift shop inside and prices are reasonable. No food inside, but there are various restaurants downtown and if you like McDonald's that's practically right next door. Parking lot is a good size and I was able to find a spot on such a busy day. This is a great spot for children to be educated, investigative, explore, and play.

None of the hand sanitizer was working or wasn’t filled. The news room was gross. The smaller toy items looked to not be wiped down in a while in the other areas. It was pretty busy and I’m a little concerned my 2 year old is going to get sick because of the unsanitary conditions. I will say she had a lot of fun. We spent 2 hours there and I was happy she was having fun. The lady in the backyard area (3 and under room) was very friendly and interacted with the kids to get them engaged. That was refreshing to see. There is staff standing around to help you if you need it. Would give it 5 stars if it was cleaner and better maintained.

My baby girl saw this place while watching Blippi and it's local so we set out to go. Arriving around 11am on a Saturday. It was a small crowd already there but not too bad. At first she was real timid and clingy. As we got through the airplane section she loosened up a bit. The longer we stayed the more comfortable she got. Her highlights were the Publix and the Firetruck! As it got into the afternoon a bunch of people were in there. It became almost theme park like. We left but plan on getting the year passes and will visit early to maximize on fun time while on site. 10/10 recommend

Ok, first, I want to say, go early in the morning, not mid day like we did. I took my niece and sister to the museum, it was a fun time, or that's what I'd like to say, if you could ignore or get away from the field trip crowds; let's just say, they were kids from hell, running all over the place, climbing on things, trying to break things, and so on, so forth. This is mainly due to the teachers and volunteer parents dealing with what seemed like 10 kids per person; and they barely cared to watch or try and control their wild freakouts, they let them do as they pleased, without a care of where they went. It's like all they cared about was to have the correct head count at the end of the trip. They didn't care how they acted, where they ran too, even allowing running out of sight of whos watching them, even near open easy to climb in water areas. This was an accident waiting to happen cause the kids climbed up and down the obstacles, hiding in places that were off limits to patrians, go every which way, that seemed like it had no supervision. If you know your school's having a trip here and you're able to be a volunteer chaperone for your kids' class, please do, cause if you let your kids go with these unatentive people watching them, don't be surprised somone gets hurt.

Same as I remember, my grandson had a blast. Lots of hand on learning at its best. Adventurous Adventures in learning both inside and out. Do take note they are closed on Tuesday. **SNAP holders get in for $3.00 a person.

This Is a very nice, educational, and huge kids park. The Facility is clean and well organized and there are many patrons that are walking around wiling to help you if you need help. It’s is highly Recommended to arrive right at the opening and not an hour later, because everyone arrives an hour after the opening. I enjoyed our visit to this place and there are plenty of or parking for cars.

So we're from Texas. Only visiting family here and my little guy saw the blippi episode with this place so we wanted to come see it for ourselves. Very interactive and fun for all ages. I have 4 stars because there was no hand sanitizer at any of the different stations and only one sink worked in the bathroom near the front door.

It's a lot of fun for kids, good price. There was no open cafe on site. If you want to have a snack/lunch , bring your food.

This is a great place to visit. It can be very busy, but worth the wait . There a little bit for everyone to learn and play . There even a area for much younger children. Arts and crafts .

For any homeschooling parents, this place is great to take your kids for lessons. This building is huge and offers a large variety of things to have fun while learning. Here’s a few of our favorites from our visit. The farm area shows kids how to milk a cow, process of getting milk from the farm to the store, & picking crops. You also have a fire station that shows you the life of a firefighter as well as teaching fire safety. The 40ft tall boy has stairs behind him to reach various play areas to learn about the inside of our bodies. There are multiple airplanes and a simulation to help kids learn about becoming a pilot. They also have a large crafting area that allows kids to use their imaginations to create anything they’d like. Bring a small bag if you’d like to take their crafts home with you. Makes things easier as they explore the rest of the museum. Overall this is a well maintained, clean children’s museum and is well worth the trip to visit.

It's a great Riverwalk, it's a lot longer than just here you have to research it. I think I read it followed a canal I believe and it travels through a lot of SC communities. Very well done!

Nice place to go birding and walking. Restrooms near the bridge. Has an exercise area and overlooks. Bring a hammock and use their stands! Felt safe!

The trail is very nice and maintained, it was very busy this Saturday morning. You will find plenty of spots to hang your hammocks, it is the perfect spot to relax and read a book. Plenty of opportunity to see some wildlife (lots of turtles). Bathrooms are available & clean! So bring your running shoes, bike, or even your fishing gear and enjoy a day by the river. ☀️

The best river park in this city. Unlike the other river parks nearby, it does not have a stinky smell. Beautiful and well maintained. You can see turtles, bird nests there.

This is a great walk that is well maintained. There’s a misting station which is great if you came to workout or just when it’s really hot. The whole way is paved so you can easily bring a stroller or bikes. There’s lots of benches and tables along the way

Just a beautiful and peaceful place to walk or relax. Trails are mostly clean of debris, everyone is friendly, plenty of parking. Morning are best in summer before heat kicks in. Get out and embrace this 2.5 mile walk one way, 5 mile round trip. You may see occasionally a Gator and plenty of Turtles. Stay blessed

This is a great easy walking or biking trail. You can walk for miles. It is busy on Saturdays, but Sundays in the evening are great for biking. There is a grassy area with places to set up hammocks or sit by the river.

Relaxing & beautiful, relatively flat (1small hill), paved place to run. They have a lot of places to sit (benches, picnic tables) along the trail & trails off the trail so if you needed to sit, you can. I didn't see any restrooms along the trail before I hit 2.5 miles but I did see a sign close to the beginning of the trail that said use porta potties at the beginning of the trail... so if you have to use the restroom before 2.5 you may be screwed but maybe they are fixing it. They have signs posted about the wildlife so be mindful of that. I enjoyed my run out here. Did 2.5 down until I got to the huge dam then turned around. Im sure I could've kept going but not sure how much more. It was perfect for my workout though. I went around 0830, there were quite a few people out but everyone stayed to themselves. There were people with strollers, runners, walkers, people on bikes and scooters. Every one was respectful. Did see one person (out of maybe 30 people during my 50 mins) with their dog not on a leash though. Not too bad but I hate that lol I wouldn't recommend doing this path at night, I'm not sure how the lighting is but it's too many ditches, tree and debris next to the path and bridges you have to go under for me. There are also paths from the woods people were coming out of, so yeah. It was very clean, didn't see any trash along the path, easy to find parking and the trail. I would recommend this trail for running, biking, walking, etc.

This is a really nice park. If you are in the area, it is a great place to kill time and experience the outdoors in Columbia SC. There are plenty of places to walk, hike and even an outdoor fitness area. Dogs are everywhere and it is really clean. There are many different rivers and ponds in the area and the walkways are clean and paved. It's beautiful and I enjoyed the afternoon here with my son

Excellent place for families and people who enjoy the outdoors. Very nice walking trail. Handicap accessible in some areas. Might be challenging to get close to the canal near the turtles. Great views. The telescope vision Midway through the canal walk I think was our favorite section of the trail. Pedestrian traffic, I would say was moderate.

This was a really nice place to walk by myself. I took a lot of nice photos and enjoyed the beautiful fall weather. The bridges, canal, trees with Spanish moss, and river were so beautiful.

This museum is 2 floors. The bottom floor has a temporary exhibit, and the second floor has the museum's permanent collection. The second floor is interesting, as they categorized it by theme (not time period). There are 20 small rooms, so some of the room's themes feel a little random, but it has a variety of pieces in each room. The cost of an adult admission is $10, with discounted entry for military and students. The staff here was very nice. I spent almost 2 hours here.

A wonderfully curated museum with plenty of helpful and knowledgeable staff. The bottom floor features rotating galleries while the top floor houses the permanent pieces. The open floor plan along with the provided map makes transitioning from the different themes easy. Overall a very enjoyable experience and will definitely be going back.

If you're looking for an atmospheric stroll through centuries of art and art history, this is the place. The exhibits are thoughtfully planned and curated, each gallery bleeding perfectly into the next. They have art and relics through the ages, everything from photography and paintings to pottery and glasswork. The staff is awesomely kind and love what they work around, and it shows! The entrance fee is affordable, and they're always having awe-inspiring events. These photos are from their Blossom Exhibition, where they had local florists come in, choose a piece that spoke to them, and make an arrangement to accompany it. They also had a tea party with pastries and crafts, it was beyond fun!

I had a wonderful time because they have such a extensive group of displays and items from their own collection. African American art and traditional American art and there was some civil rights and related items. There was a wonderful spectacular piece by Severin Roesen. I thoroughly enjoyed touring the galleries. I didn't get to see everything so I'm going to have to go back again.

Beautiful museum. Visited from Charlotte to attend an event there part of the food and wine festival. A cocktail competition, and it included museum admission. Really enjoyed seeing all of the beautiful artwork.

This was the first time I had ever been here It is in downtown Columbia. The grounds as you approach is nice. I wish I’d taken a picture. But it was raining and we hurried in. But there are tables and a fountain and a sculpture or two. Inside it is two floors. Stairs as well as elevator. Bathrooms on both floors. I think that the bottom floor is a changing gallery why the upper floor hosts things that the museum owns with may be a hall exhibit that changes. There’s an interactive room also. Which was cool but not supplied with the brushes and paper at every station. There is a place where you can sit in this room as well Upstairs there are seats around. As well as little pop up stools you can carry with you if you want sit and admire the art. The first Thursday of the money is free admission. There are also, first come first serve, lockers. For free. We really enjoyed ourselves and would definitely go back

The entrance of this place looks exhilarating, like a warm welcome for guests. There are two main floors, the first one has the Alexander clothing based stuff which is a nice touch on people who enjoy fashion and the second has specific themes geared towards whatever you prefer.

What an incredible find. Decided to go here instead of touring a couple historic homes on our last day visiting Columbia. So glad that we did. Such an amazing collection of art! The highlight for me was the Monet.

This was a great and relaxing experience. You never realize how a piece of art can give you so many emotions. I was lucky enough to see some pieces from Rodin, but what brought me joy and peace was the light boxes from Aniya. Truly need to see these exhibits and so much more.

Nice little attraction in downtown Columbia. The museum isn’t that big, but has a good variety of art on display. Ticket prices are cheap, and the museum is near other restaurants and things to do. Would probably keep you entertained for an hour or few, depends on your pace and whether or not you take your time and read and really observe everything. It is kid friendly as well.

I am always impressed with the art museum’s first floor installations. They always showcase an amazing talent from SC that I have never heard of. It’s worth visiting the museum 3-4 times a year to see this floor alone. They take special attention to inform and honor so many different cultural voices and stories from our state.

Columbia Museum of Art is a great Regional Art Museum. They have often some great exhibits, and on Loan Art from some of the top Museums anywhere. The types of art here range from the 15th Century to Modern Art. Staff is very welcoming and friendly. Cost is only $10 for an Adult which is a bargain!

Currently the first floor exhibits are closed. So only second floor and black history is open. It was nice to look around. Not super big. It took about 30 minutes to look around. Staffs were very kind!

My experience at the Columbia Museum of Art was wonderful, very knowledgeable. A tour guide is excellent to have when visiting an exhibition. Very enlightening experience, I would highly recommend going to see an exhibit that interest you and you'll be pleasantly surprised about how much more you will learn.

An absolutely beautiful museum!! A must see if you love art, they are spaced out perfectly with info right next to it to know the age of the artist, of the art itself and some history to make you think about the art from the time period. There’s paintings, sculptures, pottery and even current fashion from a top designer to bring it all together to truly make it worthwhile. I took 2.5 hours walking around and had my husband in awe when I showed him the photos! Highly recommend stopping in if you come to Columbia!

Fantastic art museum is a must stop for art lovers and culture lovers alike. Excellent selection of art and objects from 500bc to today. Changing exhibits on the ground floor. You should go and take your time and enjoy some culture and talent.

My gosh this place is wonderful! They have paintings rivaling big city museums. Around every corner was something stunning. This place is worth the drive too. I left feeling I just enriched my life 10-fold.

Absolutely loved my visit. Such a wonderful mix of works from the Ancient Era to the Modern Era. Andy Warhol, a portrait of George Washington, paintings from the Renaissance period. Worth every penny I spent on admission. Strongly recommend you visiting if you’re in the area or driving through.

$5 day use pass. Plenty of picnic shelters & paved trails for walking & running. Saw couple bicycles. Views of the Saluda river. Two entrances - East & West. The East entrance has the soccer fields & tennis courts. The park has 2 education/visitor centers. The river center was closed. Nice park to spend the afternoon walking along the river.

I'm unsure if there is a charge to enter, it is managed by the State. When I visited I was with a field trip. They have a variety of activities like dog parks, splash pad, boat landings and trails. There are very scenic views in the different trails one can walk. It also has a lot of Pokémon stops for those who want to walk and play.

Well $5 admission is blah. The sprawling facilities they have certainly justify that fee, just not my style. Took the road bike around a really good mix of paved trails and roadways. Walked along the Saluda River and got some great photos. Definitely going to have to break out the kayak and fish it for trout.

Great park for any number of outdoor activities. I really enjoyed walking the new trail now that the storm system construction is completed. Can’t wait to bring the kiddos here in the summer.

I started going to this park mainly because of the dog park. However, they have much more to offer that I still need to explore. My pack of huskies love it here! They love running freely in the 2 acre park. There are plenty of toys and balls for them to play with, two doggie pools, a water hose, a sandbox, benches, some agility course equipment, buckets and a hydrant for water, and a gazebo for owners to sit under. There are plenty of shaded areas for dogs to run around in as well. It also gives me peace of mind knowing that all dogs must be fully vaccinated to have access to the park. The park is secure with a passcode for that purpose. We really enjoy our visits and I can't wait to explore more activities at Saluda Shoals!

Lovely park with a variety of facilities. Playground, paved trails, river access, dog park, picnic shelters with grills, multiple restrooms with water fountains, splash pad, kayak and boat launch, business and event center, nature and environmental information center, bird garden, and a large deck with strung lighting. Dogs are allowed on trails on leash.

Touch a truck event at the St Andrews entrance. Lots of fun for the little ones. I would recommend trying to go early if they do it again, as the giveaways run out. Great value for a 5$ parking fee.

The Christmas lights were gorgeous and will bring out the kid in you. Definitely a new holiday tradition!

Great park, for toddlers and all ages. We took our toddler there, and he loved it. It's a huge park with a section called Leo's Landing, which is the place that kids mostly love. It has numerous structures, rides slides. It also has a small zip-line for ages 5 to 10 years. It even has a small place to sit back and read a book, with a selection of shared books in an owl shaped shelf. It also has a splash pad that would open this weekend, we still went to see it. It's a great place for kids n parents to hang out.

Perfect stop along hwy 26 on our way from FL… well worth it ; kiddos stretched their legs and had a blast we came here 30 minutes until closing and still was worthwhile. Beautiful thoughtful play equipment some is adaptive for wheelchairs. Lots of benches fun features , music stations , educational pieces. I loved how they incorporated wild life and lots of tadpoles , croaking frogs , singing birds.

Nice shirt drive from downtown Columbia. It's a nice mix of urban features mixed in with natural features. Three drawbacks were gas powered blowers constantly going, and the river trail is not exactly along the river., it's inland. You have to take side trails to get to the river. And of course the siren, which we expected. We just would have liked a little more peace. Nice park overall though.

Lots to do throughout & so much fun for families, especially on warm sunny days. There’s a huge all inclusive playground called Leo’s Landing, a second covered playground next to the splash pad, a dog park, Saluda river access, walking trails, picnic areas, etc etc etc!

Went with the family to see the Christmas lights. What beautiful displays! And So worth the entry fee! We all loved it! Will definitely go back next year!

I attended the Clemson vs USC game! The facility was adequate. The game was awesome! Some of the USC fans were too intoxicated and belligerent. But overall it was a good experience.

Great football venue! Band was awesome the student section was rocking! The Sandstorm rocks. All around great experience.

Williams-Brice Stadium is home to the South Carolina Gamecocks football program. It may not be the faniest stadium out there... or in the nicest city... or in the nicest part of town... BUT it is an incredible environment to in which to watch a college football game! I highly recommend the experience to any college sports fans.

There's not another stadium like it! The lights, the crowd, the food, the people. Pretty clean restrooms. Elevators if needed. It's a whole vibe. Let's Gooo Gamecocks. FEELS LIKE HOME EVERY TIME!!!

Good place to see a game. The only downside is the distance from campus and the need to ride shuttle buses to the stadium

Great memories here. Just waiting for the time when we get back to going 11-1 during the regular season. I will never forget being in the student section shaking the whole area jumping up and down going deaf by how loud it gets in the stadium…. under a Carolina sky.

Great stadium with an enthusiastic crowd at the spring football game. Concessions have pricey food options, but are tasty. Traffic leaving the stadium is horrible.

GO COCKS!!! I wish they would figure out a better parking system when leaving the games. We did not park far from the stadium and it took us 2 hours to get out of the parking lot. Also... Horseshoe Club should have better selections for food. And condiments. My bf was upset that he could not get a pack of mayo to put on his $8 Chicken sandwich.

My family & I went to our first USC game. The children had a blast. The energy was high during the whole game. Football brings everyone together!

We had a great experience at the USC~MsSt game on Saturday 9/23. Great atmosphere. Then I lost my truck key leaving the stadium. On Sunday morning a kind gentleman in the office described the key/lanyard that was turned in and waited for us to arrive. He was very kind.

Enjoyed tailgating, walking through the new Gamecock Village, then heading to the USC vs Kentucky game. Traffic was well organized, I felt safe among the massive crowd, and the pregame, & light show where the perks. Seating is tight, food and drinks (water) inside the stadium is expensive. Traffic leaving was seem-less. Great time

If you haven’t been to a Carolina home game, WHY NOT!? It’s more than just football, it’s a whole new feeling unlike anything else, and a fantastic one at that.

Nice parking/tailgating areas (need more porta potties though), all seats have backs, this is awesome & there's no need to carry portable stadium/bleacher seats, & the seating areas were clean. They do serve alcoholic beverages & a good variety of other concessions, but they're pricey (pretty comparable to other stadiums). The breezeway was packed with extremely long lines for said concessions & for the bathrooms. They def need addional 🚻, as my husband had to wait over 10 mins in line during the early 2nd quarter, which is usually a slow time for bio breaks during games. The traffic routing on the way out led to excessively long traffic jams (over an hour just sitting after getting out of the stadium area itself, even though we left after most folks had cleared out). Could use some better planning there.

I had the experience of attending USC Coach Curtis Frye's retirement party here. It was wonderful! The University of South Carolina has a really nice campus and the staff at the event was great.

Went to see the South Carolina Gamecocks defeat Texas A&M last night at Williams-Brice Stadium and it was a GREAT time! The stadium is beautiful and the fans are super nice. Both teams played well but the Gamecocks prevailed and it was a very thrilling game to attend! It was my first time at a Gamecocks game but won't be my last. Congrats to the fans, players, coaches and administration on a great stadium experience and game!

Attended the Reba concert here, the concert was fantastic. The venue was good. The seats were comfortable. Lines to get in, order concessions, and for the bathroom were very long and moved slowly but this was expected. Parking was decently close to the venue, affordably priced and clearly marked.

Really enjoyed seeing the Lady Gamecocks play today and continue their undefeated streak. Comfortable arena with a great selection of food and drink options. The only downside is that if you are sitting in the top 5-8 rows it’s like you are in a different arena. There are no speakers pointed in your direction so you can’t hear the PA announcer that well. Other than that it’s a great place to come to an event. Came back for graduation a few months later and got to see #dawnstaley make a cameo appearance to support one of her graduating players.

Great location to see a concert or basketball game. Last trip was for a concert to see Elton John and it was fantastic. Easy parking close by making it an easy walk to and from. Arena is laid out to be able to find your seats with no problems.

We’ve attended many events at this establishment. From music concerts, to graduations. Every year we attend the monster trucks. Our first time attending not gonna lie, we were a little iffy about the space provided but also pleasantly surprised that it was a good show and all-around good entertainment. The kids loved it they weren’t scared, it was a little loud, but they do offer headphones obviously you have to pay for them. the live dinosaurs we just attended. The little bit of show that I did get to watch, was very entertaining. You were up close and personal with “ live dinosaurs”. My four-year-old (who I thought was gonna be a paleontologist one day since he can name all the dinosaurs) was terrified of the trex so we only got to watch a few minutes of the show before we had to walk out but my older son (13 yo) loved it he said it was the best, and he would love to see it again, as would I 😆 We will continue attending sport’s events and live entertainment as it’s a great time for the entire family!

Lots of convenient parking (no pun intended) & great place for a concert! Attended the Imagine Dragons concert there on 2/12/22 with our single-digit son. Clean bathrooms, lots of food & drink (alcohol or not) vendors, and the music thundered through the entire place.

Kick-off concert for "James Taylor and his All-star Band" 2022 tour. Well produced show with 13 talented and accomplished musicians on stage. James brought the house down with crowd favorites. So, we're recently new South Carolinians and this concert was a good ending to a three day exploratory visit to our new state's capital city. Colonial Life Arena feels new. There's plenty of parking $20. Security in was efficient with bag restrictions. They had an express entry for folks without bags. Food and beer is available and we enjoyed our meals. There were lines when you would expect them but they moved quickly. Inside, there are no structural hindrances and no bad seats. Seats are comfortable with adequate space. I didn't see any bleachers, all upholstered armchairs. It's pretty easy to move about the seating area. Ventilation is good. Lightning is good. We loved our concert!

Took my girlfriend to see Reba for her birthday. The show was amazing! The only downside was it was extremely hot in the Colonial Life Arena. My girlfriend who is always cold brought a sweater to wear over her blouse and said she wishes she hadn't because it was so hot inside.

It is one of the best college sports venues. Electrifying atmosphere and friendly staff and people. We were guests on the opposing team, but they made us feel at home with their warm and welcoming hospitality.

The Eagles put on a spectacular show at the Colonial Life Centre on Thursday night. The band played a three-hour set that included all of their biggest hits, from "Hotel California" and "Take It Easy" to "Lyin' Eyes" and "Desperado." The crowd was on their feet the entire time, singing along and dancing to the music. The band's sound was incredible. They sounded just as good live as they do on their albums. The vocals were perfect, the harmonies were tight, and the instrumentals were spot-on. The band also put on a great visual show. The stage was set up with a large screen that displayed images and videos that complemented the music. The Eagles are a legendary band, and they showed why they are still one of the biggest bands in the world. They put on a show that was both musically and visually stunning. If you have the chance to see them live, I highly recommend it.

Always a great time! Staff are all helpful and kind. Restrooms relatively clean for packed shows. Lines are rarely a long wait for canteen etc. Also, I have food sensitivities and the girl that helped me was AWESOME about it!

What a fantastic sports venue! Such a nice arena. And I'm not just saying that because I'm a Gamecock. It's definitely a nice place. Was able to enjoy the McGuire area last game and that was a real treat.

We went here for Cheerleading state championships and it was phenomenal. The arena is super clean and staff is friendly and great. Plenty of seating as well as restrooms and a good verity of food places. The only downfall to this arena is there was no cup holders so it made it a little challenging with the children and drinks.

This was my first visit to the arena for a USC basketball showcase event. Very easy to park and walk to the arena. Make sure to bring a clear bag/purse for anything you want to bring as you enter through security. Very easy to get around once inside and plenty of food and restrooms. Any seat in the arena really would be good seats in my opinion. A fun night and hope to be back for another event!

Sam Hunt and Brett young in concert, along with Lilly Rose fantastic. Great price even better concert! A ton of people fit in this building. The high seats are not bad if you're not scared of heights.

Went to see Katt Williams. The seating is confusing, and we followed the signs and were still in the wrong area 4 times because of how we needed to access the seats. Close to parking deck, though, and I was happy about that. 11,000 seats all sold out, and we had a great time. We sat in upper back directly in front of the stage, not bad seating, but it would be nice if the screens they had were larger.

This was my second time with the grands at monster Jam, the Arena was located near major interstates, restaurants and beautiful site-seeing buildings. I recommend you visit and enjoy the ambiance.

I attended the Blues is Alright tour and really enjoyed myself. The staff was courteous and went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. I’m Handicapped and they have elevators to use if you cannot walk up the stairs & etc. The young elevator operator that took me up and down was a very nice guy and did his job very professionally!!

I went to the Ace's Pre Season game with my daughter we had a great time.

This park has a nice campground. Only 9 sites are full hookup though. They have a great trail for running. It's a loop through the woods. About 3.5 miles long. Good surface and mostly shaded. And you can easily add running to & from campsite to get 5 miles -- or obviously whatever distance you want if you keep running around the loop. Nice lake with ducks & kayak & SUP rentals.

This park is absolutely breathtaking. The trails are well marked with ample space for everyone coming in different directions. Plenty to do off the trails from fishing, to canoes, volleyball space and picnic shelters scattered throughout. My family and I have such a great time being together here.

Even snow couldn't keep us from having a great time! Great State Park in the middle of the state. Easy access to shopping and attractions, just off the interstate. Turn off Two-Notch and experience a wilderness setting in the heart of Columbia. Walking trails, paddle boats and amazing Rangers await!

This park was truly beautiful and we didn't even walk the entire thing. The water was very pretty to look at and we almost rented a paddle boat but it was a little chilly. The waterfalls we saw were so nice to just sit and listen to. It was very peaceful and not crowded. Parking was ample however it was a little annoying that we had to pay to get in. The only thing missing was definitely more swings to sit in to look at the water. There was only one and a lady was sitting in it for over the hour that we were there. Will definitely be back and recommend it to anyone visiting. Our first park visit was Finlay park so needless to say, the bar was almost non-existent when it came to finding a nice park, but we were very pleased with our visit.

Lemme start with the negative; $6 fee and the only drinking water available is from spigots, mind you they sell drinks and have soda machines… The trails around the park are few, but well maintained and heavily shaded. There are sprawling picnic areas, a playground, restrooms and a few small pavilions. They do offer some watercraft rentals; fishing is also permitted. My favorite part was the tiny dams that drain out of the lake.

Beautiful place, so much to do. Fishing and boating on the lake, camping, nice trails to hike on. Also a playground and splash pad for the kids to cool down on.

Sesquicentennial is a nice park with a featured lake and easy trails. Its set up nicely for family activities and was quite busy on a sunny warm day in January. First thing I noticed was the smell of a pine forest. We took the guided first day hike on the trail looping around the lake. It’s flat and easy about 2 miles. There is a longer cycling loop which I believe is pretty sandy in parts. There are a variety of boats to use on the lake and a nostalgic boat house. Also a dog park on the way into the park. Nicely set for urban folks living around the park and outside visitors.

We have camped at Sesquicentennial State Park twice. The first time was loop 2, and the second in site 27, loop 1. Both trips have been really nice. The sites are shaded with large pines. The sites are pretty flat, requiring only a little side-to-side leveling. The park is maintained well and has lots to do. There’s hiking, biking, playgrounds, a splash pad, kayaks/canoes/pedal boats for rent for only $5/hr. There are about 10 sites with full hookups and the rest have water and 30 or 50 amp electricity. I think loop 1 has 30/50 amp and loop 2 is just 30 amp. Don’t quote me on that, I’m going off info I saw on the camp site information board. There’s good water pressure and the water tastes good. I’m pretty sure it is city water as the park is in Columbia, SC. I took off 1 star because there aren’t more sites with sewer. There’s a dump station east to access on your way out of the campground. Verizon has decent service here with me getting 2-3 bars of 5G.

Beautiful park, well maintained. It has different terrain, some paths have gravel, sand and dirt. It is dog friendly, you can kayak and fish. You cannot swim here, this is something the park does not allow, in consideration for your safety. It also has playgrounds for children and picnic tables, restrooms that are maintained. The walking paths are nice and wide.

This is a wonderful and large park inside the forest and near a large lake. The park is very well maintained. very clean, the roads and paths for pedestrians are very neat. There are a lot of gazebos and there is a free towlet. There are also parking lots for mobile homes. per month. Entrance to the park is paid starting from 6 years old, for adults the price is $ 6 for children $ 3. There are bike roads and trails for those who like to walk. In short, I advise everyone, it was very good despite the rain.

Nice state park in the Columbia area. There is a $6 entry fee per adult and $3.50 for kids. I ended up buying the SC state park yearly pass as I could apply today's entry fee. It has a nice 2 mile mostly shaded path around the lake and through the woods. There was a nice camp/ souvenir shop where one can also rent boats to take on the lake. We cooled down at the splash park after our hike. There is also camping available. It's a nice space and feels safe.

Honestly, this is one of the most comforting parks I've ever been to. Beautiful views, nice trails, plenty of picture opportunities, and there's labels on the trails that are color coded so you don't get lost. There's a splash pad and a dog park too I believe. It's definitely a decent size and plenty of room for activities to do with family overall.

Nice and quiet except for the highway noise. There is a need for updating the entrance to the campground and the road through the campground. For bigger units it is very difficult to get in and drive through, 38'+, trees are close to road and curves, it's tight getting in the entrance and into the dump station. All the ranges and hosts are very nice and helpful. The Lake, trails, boat rentals and playgrounds are also nice. If you want to use the Very Large and nice dog park make sure you go online and have all the forms and fees done.

Camped at Sesqui in Mid-March 2024. Gate attendant had my information, super friendly and laid back. I felt like a regular despite coming in for my first trip. Superb. Site was lovely and the campground well suited to my preferences. Restrooms very clean, nice hot showers, basically had half the loop to myself on a school year, week night. Great walking trail along the lake, locals were out in the park, very good atmosphere. Lake area was beautiful. This park shows the hallmarks of a well managed, well staffed, gem - that is 25 minutes from downtown. Thanks for a great stay.

We stayed one night on our way north. Once we pulled through the entrance, it was easy to forget you were in a city. Cute signs greeted us as we drove to the office. Not having a reservation, the park office staff member happily wrote down the sites available for the night and told us to drive through and pick the one that suited us best. We could come back once we unhooked and settled in. The sites were packed gravel, spacious, level, and clearly marked regarding sewer access. The roads were well maintained with trees cut back from the edges making it large rig friendly. A park worker was filling pot holes while we walked our dog. Dogs are allowed on a six foot leash. The splash pad was closed but I imagine it’s a big hit in the summer time. Plenty of hiking and biking paths along with water equipment rental. We will definitely add it to our list of favorites to return to in the future. Hubby added: easy and close access to the interstate.

Very nice state park built by the CCC. RV campground is on gravel roadways as are the pads. Very nice trails around the lake.

Gorgeous park, especially now that it’s fall. Very clean, with a playground in the shade and shelters. Perfect for families. It’s dog-friendly! It’s very obvious that locals love this park - there were lots of people there on a warm, fall day. We were passing by on our way to NC and stopped there to walk out dog. I was pleasantly surprised by how cute the park is. Entrance fee is $6 per adult and $3.5 per child.

Beautiful state park, we visited on New years day and it was extremely crowded. I would imagine being so close to Columbia that this is the city folks daytrip getaway. Several trails, play grounds, picnic areas, restrooms, lake with rentals, and a great park office/shop. I'm assuming these are Angel Oaks like around Charleston, they're beautiful and a natural playground for the kids.

This park was absolutely fantastic. Long trails are awesome and this one had trails all over. Definitely stop in whenever you are in the area.

Cool piece of street art and who does not love one of these 'worlds largest' items! It's located at the side of the road and the whole of this area felt a bit sketchy to be honest. Parking is limited nearby and there is not much in this area apart from the Hydrant itself. It seems years ago there was a water feature stroke element but this is now broken on the sculpture. Also check out the mural nearby.

We were in the midst of a 15 hour trip. This was right about in the middle so we stopped to see it. It was about 5-10 minutes off whatever the main highway was. It’s pretty neat. Of course it isn’t super thrilling, but I don’t know what the other reviewers expected from a piece of art. It was super cool and different from anything else I had ever seen. It’s in the middle of a parking lot. Even better, it’s free and it was worth getting out of the car to stretch my legs around it. Also, across the parking lot was a pretty nifty mural.

What a cool place to visit! A fun roadside attraction in Columbia to stretch your legs on a road trip. It isn’t difficult to find as it does stand out! This destination is not far from highways. The sculpture is surrounded by parking lots for easy parking. Have a great time on your visit!

The parking lot is convenient and you can pay via text. The hydrant statue is quite unique but don't just stop here! There are beautiful historic houses and churches just down the street.

Just a random fire hydrant sculpture in the middle of downtown. Good photo opportunity, but nothing more. Also, it was hard to find parking and it’s surrounded my business. There are lots of cool murals around.

Silliness in street art. Large parking lot fixture with the Tunnel Vision mural nearby in same parking lot. Two for one. Just a giant hydrant that you can touch across the silly fence with silly signs.

This is the first time I have been at a "world's largest" thing. It would be very nice if they gave it a better surround-not just traffic walls and chain link fence. The mural in the same lot is incredible as well.

This is free public art installation by South Carolinian artist "Blue Sky". This would be a fun little stop if you have little kids is it promotes some wonder and fun conversations. According to Atlas obscura it weighs 675,000 pounds and was built to withstand a hurricane even though it was designed to look as though it had been hit by a giant car. Paid parking is available in the "Busted Plug Plaza" and on the street in front of it. Great open space. Attracted a lot of houseless folks (visited in Feb) and the water features were dry. Probably a great place to provide some cover and resting area for those needing it.

Very well kept grass. Water fountain and pond looked clean. There were a lot of homeless/sketchy people around. I also saw a tent set up for someone. Could be a great park.

Very disappointing. I hadn’t been in years. Don’t make it downtown too often. I remember first moving to SC this was my place to come. I had my two nephews for a week. Age two and Three. It felt very unsafe. The homeless population has made this their home. Imaging trying keep up with a two and three year old running with this many homeless people around. The walk ways to the non-working Fountain were over rubbed with shrubs and trees. Outside of that trash and old cloths everywhere. And the Fountain must have been down for a long time, because under the fountain there is now a fire pit. I hope that during peak season, it looks better than this! Maybe I caught it in off season.

Honestly it was really disappointing. Super gross, over grown, and just flat trashy. I didn't want to touch anything much less my kids. And then we were harassed by a crazy homeless lady the whole time. Just not what I remembered as a kid. Besides the one park, I don't suggest going at all.

This place is not what it used to be. It used to be so beautiful and mesmerizing looking at the light up waterfall and exploring the trails around it. Now, I haven't seen the waterfall be operated in years. It needs better maintenance. Very trashy and dirty feel. There are a lot of homeless people here. The place has lost its glow. I was fortunate to visit this park in it's prime days.

I believe they're about to start the process of doing a total makeover, which is greatly needed. It looks like it hadn't been maintained for a while. There's a great population of homeless people. There are no benches near the playground. Can't wait to see the makeover which is much needed.

I used to love exercising but walk the paved path around the park. Not now. The fountain has been turned off the water in the pool is green and polluted, paths have been blocked off, the grounds are overgrown in places and the bathrooms are closed permanently. If some one would like to witness to or feed the homeless, this would be a great place to do it.

2 stars for layout and the potential view No stars because there is sooo many homeless. I was approached by 3 guys asking to use my phone to find out where his brother is. Um no, not going to happen. There was packs of homeless people all over. There is no fountain / waterfall, there is trash everywhere needs TLC on paths and steps (dangerous) You don't see homeless ones in my pictures because I tried to hide the Debbie downer points.

This is a great downtown park that has undergone many changes throughout the years. There used to be a beautiful waterfall but that area is overgrown and shut down. Once that area is clean back up this will definitely be a five-star Park but in the meantime it only gets 3 stars. The playground is amazing and a wonderful place to spend at least an hour or two.

I wanted to update my review. To be announced after they complete the renovations and I see if the homeless people take the park back over. I'm praying they have dispersed to receive mental or drug addiction help and have all gotten relocated to be out of the weather and have a more productive life. I do see some have moved to the memorial across the street but I'm not sure where the rest have gone. Good job Columbia for finally taking back Finley Park and I can't wait to see the finished results. I give this park a one for accommodating the homeless people. There are no water fountains or waterfalls. This park is trash and it's sad that it's sitting right in the middle of downtown Columbia for anyone who is visiting to see. The best part of this park is getting to see the homeless people sleeping on their mats and their belonging surrounding them. Anyone want to get mugged, visit this park. It saddens me I've lived here all my life in this park has turned to trash in our town is letting it happen. Do better City of Columbia. We want our park back.

Playground equipment gone, fountains are totally trashed and park was overrun with homeless. Found this place using google trip planner and was really disappointed. Might be nice for walking I guess, they trail was still in useable shape. Really surprised considering it's like two blocks from the state house.

The park is nice looking unfortunately the fountains where not workings and to be honest it’s the main attraction of the park. So sad and disappointed we couldn’t see the fountains working. At least I got some nice pictures from the skyline.

Cool mural on the side of a building. You can walk up to it, but it is in a gated parking lot. The giant fire hydrant is located on the same street corner.

Both exhibits were so incredibly informative and interesting. The interactive parts of the exhibit help with keeping the attention of younger children. I love that they used artifacts and pictures from our state to help make the narrative hit closer to home. It made the effect so much more impact full.

This held a lot of artifacts in a stunning and easy to walk about display. Many different Confederate flags, Confederate Uniforms and weapons, as well as workers and leadership during that time. Good place to just understand history.

Quite possibly the best military museum I have been to! Mostly relics from the Daughters of the Confederacy, with a few items from WWI, WWII, and Operation Iraqi Freedom, as well as an entire exhibit on Vietnam. Joe greeted us at the door, and was very passionate and knowledgeable about the exhibits. Would definitely recommend and go back!

My husband and I had an awesome time, we learned even more about the history of South Carolina and American history, I recommend that you show up early because it takes a good while to go through the museum and read the things posted about this history.

The SC State Museum is definitely a "must see" for everyone, no matter the age! From the Planetarium to the amazing Civil War section! It was a site to see. I've lived in SC all my life and this was my first visit. I will definitely go back. Very proud of my state museum!

Yes, I did view this exhibit set up in the SC State Museum just before the entrance to this additional museum. I did not have time to enter this additional museum on this day. However I did get to visit it for free one day last year. OMG it was so good: Incredibly and immacurately researched and displayed items of immense historical importance regarding the most controversial state in the union. That was not even a complete sentence(!) Holy Cow, from my personal experience it was 'mind blowing.' I spent most all of my adult life performing for the very same societal types of the very same aristocracy documented and displayed here! Fashion was King! The "times" were no different then than now. I write this in 2023. Can we sum it up simply with the line "pomp and circumstance?" I believe we shall.....except I do give a damn ; ) Get your history here. And then follow your heart from there. That has always served me well. Nothing like a little TLC.

Great museum. They present the facts as is and don't change them to suit someone's views. I don't agree with their evolutionary standing and the times they give for early times (such as 1 million yrs ago). For more modern things (400-Current yes. Ago) they are 100% truthful.

Undoubtedly a great place to visit with so many artifacts and information on history. Everything was clean and they had restrooms available to the public. The gift shop was vast, albeit a little pricey- but thats to expected at most places like this. Overall just an awesome museum, and I plan to visit again if I am ever back in the area.

As a cache of historical relics I would give this 5*. However I couldn't help but feel they were presented in a way to almost venerate the Confederacy. I found the neutral tone that was taken rather troubling. Traitors fighting for the right to own humans should not be held in a neutral tone.

Excellent museum hidden down the hall from the South Carolina State Museum (which is also worth visiting). James Bryant at the front desk was a wealth of information and his love of history shown through. The room with photographs of soldiers from the Revolutionary War were amazing. Hopefully the owner of the photographers will allow them to stay for more visitors to view. I highly recommend a visit to this museum
