The museum is a great experience for the entire family. To fully enjoy the entire museum, I would recommend blocking 3-5 hours of your time. The museum does a great job of walking viewers through the entire Pacific War. You'll walk away with a great understanding of all the events. Currently, they limit the number of visitors. I would recommend getting there early or buying tickets in advance.

This is really quite a treasure, especially to be located in a sleepy (relatively speaking) setting like downtown Fredericksburg. A World War II buff could easily spend a whole day or more exploring all the nooks and crannies, but for the more casual tourist I'd suggest allowing 3-4 hours at least. The main building is where you buy your tickets, and has the primary exhibit space that takes you thru the war, with a particular focus on the Pacific theater as one would expect. It's an easy 10 or so minute walk from there down to the "battle zone" exhibits, or you could drive as there seems to be ample (and free by the way) parking in both locations. For us it was a nice walk on a beautiful spring morning, and the payoff was two-fold: one exhibit that included an actual plane from the era and focused on aerial combat; and another that had an actual PT boat from the era and focused on the action at sea. There was also a giant thought-provoking world map on the pavement outside the two indoor exhibits that might help one put into perspective the scale of the conflict and how different nations and areas were impacted. On the walk back to the main building we went thru the Japanese Peace Garden, which is not only lovely but I think meaninful for those who might be in a contemplative mood. There are other memorials on the grounds as well as we worked our way to the side door of the main building. Back inside, all I can say is, there is a lot! And again, the particular focus is the Pacific theater, with motivations of various countries and factions examined in terms of why the war happened and how it unfolded, and as you'd expect quite a number of exhibits on tactics and strategies employed on all sides. I'll leave it at that, and summarize by saying this is an excellent museum that lives up to its title, and if all that holds any appeal whatsoever for you, then I highly recommend it.

This is an incredible museum. This was my second time at the museum. I had visited before but did not get to see the entire museum. This is a well thought out museum with memorabilia displays along with videos and plenty of placards displaying information. Highly recommend for individuals who want to know more about the events leading up to our involvement in this was.

Had a great experience here. The information was imersive with lights and sounds to help better explain conditions and the moment. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to learn more about the war in the pacific. Great for kids and elderly many places to sit and multiple restaurants.

In a word, amazing. If you are wanting a quality museum experience, this is the place to visit. I've always said the soldiers on the European front were heroes, but the soldiers who fought in the Pacific theater were super heroes. This museum does a great service in telling the stories of those who fought and died in those forsaken islands in the middle of nowhere. I would put this museum on the same level as The Smithsonian. The displays are well thought out and contain copious amounts of information. Plan to spend at least 4 hours at the minimum, as there is a vast amount of content to work your way through.

You can't miss this place. They parked a submarine in front. Make sure you give yourself enough time to visit this first-class war museum. There is so much history, so many personal stories, and artifacts that it's best to take your time. It's heart-wrenching and patriotic. There's so much to absorb. It's fascinating. Please go.

The museum is well worth the visit. It’s well designed and easy to get around. They have wheelchairs available for you to use and that’s greatly appreciated. We saved because my kids are students so don’t forget those school ID’s. The only bad news is that the section where the bomb is in display was closed for renovation. Great museum to visit..!

Outstanding presentation. Not enough words. Top notch. Plan on a few hours. Could actually spend a whole day or more for sure. The whole Nimitz story so very interesting. The free live shows really ads to the experience.

I've been here so many times I can't count them. From early childhood (back then known as the Nimitz Museum) right up until post covid. Gets better every time. Super clean. Super great staff. Super displays. Most recently, came here with a group of managers from my work as part of leadership enrichment.

We planned to spend a couple hours here, but the displays are so detailed and there are so many "rooms" to see, we spent the whole day (10 AM to 5 PM). The Japanese Peace Garden is beautiful and thousands of plaques mounted in the stone walls outside are most impressive, Note: Due to water damage from a leaking roof, only half the museum was open, and the entrance fee was reduced. Had the whole museum been available to us, we could not have seen it all in one day.

A walk through history! We parked at the visitors center and walked. Traffic was minimum crossing at the intersection. First, the people who attend this museum are really friendly and personable! Second there's a list of discounts available from Veteran(✅) to senior, to student, AND small children are free! The exhibits are really beautifully designed and presented. We loved taking a peak back in time to when the world was in a dire state. Our whole crew really enjoyed how interactive the whole place was. Lots of visual and audio interaction. The artillery pieces, jeep, tanks and aircraft were great photo ops. Also there's a giant replica of an atomic bomb. Everyone was shocked and wow'd there. Really enjoyable experience. Don't forget to walk down the street to the battlefield and PT boat/aircraft exhibits. Although there was not a re-enactment we still enjoyed getting to see the empty battlefield. I highly recommend anyone with an interest in history or military history attend. Veterans will enjoy.

There's no war museum dedicated to the Pacific theater in the United States better than this. Everything is here, from real WWII jeeps, planes, artillery guns, bombs, submarines, and PT boats to fascinating short documentary films explaining the politics, the major battles, and personalities who dominated the headlines. War history buffs could spend days here and not get bored. But, if that's not you, even a quick 2 hour walk through the meandering galleries, inside and outside, is time well spent. It's amazingly comprehensive and a well planned exhibit.

Emotional - great clear information. Sets the scene historically from 1800s and takes you through Nimitz and WW2 in an understandable way. We spent about hour and a half and would happily have stayed longer if we'd had time. Paid entry so check current prices. You walk through information boards, can push buttons for extra information and words from those involved, lots of exhibits of vehicles, uniforms and so on, including a submarine. Great restroom facilities, directions are marked if you need to rest or visit restroom during the tour. Fascinating and distressing... as is war.

A wonderful tribute to the men and women who served in the Pacific theater of the war. Very easy to get to, parking was free and nearby, and there are some great shops along the main stretch in Fredericksburg to visit once you’re done at the museum. The memory garden with photos and bricks engraved with the names of loved ones was especially moving. It will have been my grandfather’s 100th birthday in a couple of years and I plan on purchasing a brick here to commemorate his service during the war.

We took our sons. My youngest (7) loves anything military. He was very interested in the movies and the military vehicles and aircrafts that were on display. We will definitely come back!

If you have any interest in history, this is an All-Day visit! And a lot of walking! Everything is wheel chair accessible (yay) and most exhibit areas have occasional benches. (I think I sat on every one!) There are many elements to the Museum. -Nimitz's family hotel with a gallery personal to Nimitz in the hotel building. -Geo HW Bush Gallery -- don't let the name mislead you, this is the Main exhibit about the various battles in the Pacific arena during WWII. (Youcan spend a couple of days just reading and watching everything in here!) -Outside -- including the Presidents' Plaza, memorials to pretty much everyone who died in the Pacific war (we didn't see much of this so that's an impression), AND a Japanese Peace Garden (which Most regretfully, we did not see). -The Pacific Combat Zone -- is AMAZING; Is 1.5 BLOCKS AWAY. Negatives - no shuttle between combat zone and hotel/bush complex. -bathrooms few and far between -VERY STEEP hill next to hotel -sooo big Positives -SOO BIG! -Excellent displays -really cool actual PT Boat - Teachers, Military get an extra $2 off! -worth the entry fee

Great museum. I would suggest leaving your entire day open when visiting this museum. Lots of wonderful history, many interactive exhibits, and lots of reading too. If you love history, especially WWII, this is a true gem. Children will enjoy many of the exhibits but will honestly probably become restless before you finish your tour.

Very unexpected. Very good. They have really spent time and energy to make this an excellent exhibit. Well worth an afternoon of your time if you're in the area.

If you are given the chance to go here, take it. This museum is incredible. I left with such a humble heart. The whole experience was very moving and at times surreal. The amount of artifacts they have and the knowledge that was shared was beyond anything I ever expected. We were in here for hours and could have easily spent the day here reading all the stories. It is an inside and outside museum with many things to see. Take it all in.

Something that we heard before, but i did not see the visual impacts. It educates us that today's peace cost is so high, we all should protect what we have gained.

We had a one of a kind experience in the Enchanted Rock park. The park offers a variety of hiking trails in varying degrees of difficulty. You can choose between an easy loop trail around the huge rocks, two trails which require some moderate climbing every once in a while, that will take you between the rocks, and of course the trail to the top of the Enchanted Rock. The climb up was surprisingly not that difficult. There are plenty of beautiful spots to stop on the way up. Take your time to admire the changing views from different heights, as well as the surprisingly rich vegetation that still flourishes within the cracks and shallow holes in the rock. There is still a lot of running water from all over the rock. Due to the hot temperatures, it's best to arrive early and climb up first thing when the weather is still pleasant. Take a long walk around the top of the rock and explore the whole summit. Don't forget to take plenty of water, sun screen and insect repellent.

Visited 4/29/23, a Saturday. BUY DAY PASS/MAKE RESERVATION IN ADVANCE! This is a popular place and you don’t want to miss it. Park attendants were friendly and helpful. Parking near summit trail filled up fast. Recommend summit trail, Turkey pass and Echo canyon trails. We visited on a breezy day….At the top of Enchanted Rock the wind about knocked us over. If it’s going to be a hot day hike the summit trail early and take plenty of water. Recommend bringing a cooler/basket of food for a picnic. No restaurants/fast food nearby. There was a shaved ice truck near the entrance to summit trail and a snack stand that was closed when we were there. Lots of picnic places available and there was a playground down a ways from the summit trail entrance for children. Such a beautiful area. Wildflowers were still abundant when we visited. Views are spectacular. Well worth the time and effort to go see!!

Very unique experience. We had a great time. The hike up the summit is pretty steep. Make sure to wear good shoes and bring plenty of water. There are no guard rails or safety measures in place so you hike at your own risk. Beautiful views from the top.

Enchanted Rock is a beautiful place to visit. Make sure to make your reservations in advance in order to get in. Hiking the summit trail is short but steep. The views are stunning from the top. There are multiple trails to hike around it as well. A couple of primitive campgrounds too. You can settle down among tons of people and still find solice amongst the rocks.

Plenty to see and do here on multiple hiking trails. The Summit Trail to the top is a leg-burner at times but well worth the half-mile effort. Take your time to enjoy the views and the rock formation itself and you'll be able to make it. We also did the Loop Trail, which is about 4.6 miles around the outside of the Granite Dome and it offers various views of the dome from different angles, which was neat to see. Several other trails offer different experiences, too, but we'll have to check those out another day. This is a park we'll go back to. Note that you need reservations for timed entry and weekends are way busier than weekdays. Also, there is rustic camping available both near the parking lot and off of the hiking trails. Bring plenty of water because there is little shade anywhere. There are vault toilets along the Loop Trail. Also, watch for snakes, we had a rattler on the Loop Trail when we went. Plenty of parking but RVs would have a tough time maneuvering to anything but the half-dozen spots in the RV lot. Also note the closest gas is about 18 miles away in Fredericksburg, and there is little to no cell service in much of the park (for Verizon and T-Mobile).

So, I did this today and boy, was it fun! I also enjoyed the short drive from Austin to Enchanted Rock. Tons of great places to stop and take pics of. I would highly recommend if you just want to get away for the day. I didn’t purchase a pass online which I know you can. The cost was $8 just for myself. The lady that took my credit card was really helpful in making sure that I was prepared and she even stated that I will need more than one water for the hike. Well, I blew her off because I know everything. Wrong! I def needed another bottle of water because it’s def a nice hike. I was able to stretch my one bottle of water out but I thought I was going to die. I admit it. She said that at least one person a day doesn’t heed their advice and they end up having to rescue. Thankfully, that person was not me today. I even went back and told her she was right and I should have listened. So, my point is PLEASE TAKE AMPLE AMOIBT OF WATER AND NOT JUST ONE BOTTLE! The trails are marked and well kept. They will give you a map at the beginning and it is very well laid out. It took me a while to get to the top because I stopped along the way and snapped some photos and took in the scenery. Def zero shade so take your time if it’s 100 like today. One couple got engaged and I took their pic so congrats to them! I also thought that I was going to be able to walk straight up and the. back down the other side of the rock however, that is not the case that I could tell. There is a steep drop so that’s def not a good idea. Pretty pictures, no crowds, very serene on the way up and at the top. Highly recommend!

Great park, fun geology considering central Texas. The summit trail is short and quick, with steeper elevation change in the first half than second. Trail markings are great and reflective for night hikes, but are only halfway up the rock, so be sure to note the direction of your car park so you can find the trail at night. Apart from the summit trail, there are several other intersecting trails. We will be back in the cooler months to explore the 4mile loop trail which is pet friendly. Excellent dark sky for stargazing and milky way chasing.

Enchanted Rock is the name of this State Park. It really is an Enchanted and unique place to explore. The main attraction is the largest of the granite rocks rising up from the ground called...Enchanted Rock. Multiple legends abound about this place. You can hike to the top and look for yourself. The hike seems daunting, but if you take your time and rest and catch your breath, it is doable. Once you crest the curve of the rock, going up, it levels off at the top and you have a magnificent, unobstructed view. We went in the evening time when the sun was going down and it was beautiful. Walk slowly coming down. It looks really steep on the descent, but if you use a serpentine approach to walking down, it is much better. Although the summit trail, is the most popular, there are other trails to explore as well. The Loop trail is the only trail open after dark and just till 10 pm. We walked along this for a short time. It was overcast, so we really couldn't see any stars out. There is also camping available here. We love it each time we come here and usually can't wait to come back and explore more.

Absolutely beautiful hike on an overcast day that threatened rain at a few points. On the **fantastic** park ranger's suggestion, I first did the Summit Hike to get ahead of any rain and do the hardest elevation on fresh legs, then completed the Loop trail afterwards. There are bathrooms along the back stretch in case you're worried about the length and you get to see quartz deposits, close ups of other formations, more look out points, and beautiful flowers this time of year. Highly recommend it, of course with sunscreen, water, and maybe a snack! No cell service for a bit of it, fyi.

This was my fourth time to Enchanted Rock, first time bringing our kids. We felt they were finally old enough, 7 and 10. We saw several families with littles, and I just wouldn’t recommend it if you want to hike the summit. This however is such a beautiful park, wonderfully kept, clean, I love it! I will say though, plan ahead, go online and reserve. We went the week of spring break and we reserved the 30 days ahead (they won’t let you reserve more than 30 days ahead), but there were people getting turned away who were trying to walk in. Plan ahead. Bring water. It’s windy at the summit, so bring a jacket. Other than that, enjoy one of the most incredible natural features of central Texas!

One of the best state park experiences I have had! The terrain was beautiful with a lot if amazing rock formations. There is a variety of plants and wildlife, including foxes and cactus. Amazing place to explore. Summit Trail was my favorite trail, containing some of the best formations and views, both towards and at the peak. Prepare to bring hiking shoes however, as the terrain can get very steep and dangerous for those that are unprepared. Try to come on a non-cloudy night, as stars looked beautiful! The campsite was relatively spacious, equipped with hooks to hang trash bags, trees, fire pit, and clean tables/benches. The tables were shaded with a canopy. There was good distance between campsites with minimal litter. There was not much noise from other campsites and rangers were not over-bearing. Only issues were that the faucets were close to the parking lots which was a bit of a walk from the site. Not too bad, but without proper lighting, it was a bit inconvenient. Overall great experience and would be worth to come again!

Excellent park to visit and let the kids run around on the massive granite. Hike up to Summit was relatively easy and fresh because after the initial trail, there was a good bit of freedom to roam anywhere all over the huge uplifted granite (aka the Llano Uplift) and the surface was easy to walk on. The geology insight is very impressive. The view at the top was spectacular and would be awesome at sunrise or sunset. Good birding at the picnic areas.

This was an experience! Let me start off with the positives once you make it to the top it’s worth it, totally - just stunning. The restrooms are clean and their was plenty of parking. What I was not prepared for was the physical challenge, the hike is advertised as moderately challenging and it was Very challenging, I am an active person and the continual incline was something my legs and mind were not prepared for. I wanted to warn anyone, please be safe and try to prep your body beforehand : proper conditioning, hydration, nourishment and please bring plenty of water. There is zero shade all the way up and down, proper shoes are a must as well for safety.

I’m here from NC, and while visiting family, my brother brought me to this amazing park so I could get in some trail running. We paid $8 each for a Day Pass, which I thought was reasonable. While my brother climbed the Summit, I ran the big Loop trail around the park’s circumference. It’s about 4.6 miles long. It’s well marked and the sandy type path was easy to run on. The views are amazing and I stopped several times to take photos and video because it was so breathtaking! There’s plenty of restrooms along the trail as well. It was super cold today (11°) so I didn’t bring along water. I would recommend it if you run this place or hike it in the hotter summer months. They also have camping sites and rock climbing available here.

While visiting Austin Texas, I searched for challenging areas to hike and to witness a beautiful sunset. Enchanted Rock was one of the top three places so I scheduled a day to go that was clear and dry. About an hour and a half away from Austin is Enchanted Rock. The drive was pretty easy and made it there well before sunset. I arrived, pulled over next to the ranger station and paid for my reserved spot. It's always good to reserve a spot here when going to the park. It was January when I visited so it wasn't bad at all. Summer could be a different story. Keep in mind to bring water no matter what time of year you come. Summer obviously bring more. I read reviews that it was a challenging climb. There are some areas where it is a high Rocky step but the remainder of the climb is easier. Overall this reasonably fit 52 year old made it up to the top in about 25 minutes stopping to take a couple pictures along the way. If I would have known that going in I probably would have taken some of the lower trails at the base of the rock before trekking upwards towards the top. Once you are at the top, the vastness of this Park is nothing less than astonishing. I truly appreciated the view and nearby 18ft boulders that I've been standing for probably millions of years. Unfortunately there was very little cloud covers to the sunset wasn't as dramatic as I would have hoped but it was beautiful nonetheless. The ranger said to make your way down no later than 6:15. Once the sunset there is complete darkness so going down is a bit tricky but if you bring a flashlight you will be okay. There were actually people coming up as I was going down at 6:00. Unless you are camping overnight you need to leave the park at 8:00. I would have stayed longer for the stargazing but it was pretty windy that night. Enchanted Rock Park is also classified as a dark sky area so stargazing is breathtaking. You can actually see the Milky way! Would definitely return if I'm ever in TX again

More beautiful than you can imagine!!! Fun for all ages! Bring a hat or head covering as it's very windy at the top. Don't skip the hike around Enchanted Rock! It's a beautiful meandering hike with flowers, butterflies, and birds.

Enchanted Rock was a great hiking experience for our family today! The big climb up the rock was challenging but easily worth it. We had amazing sightseeing from the top in every direction. After our trip to the top, we hiked around several of the loop trails visiting lakes, streams, and other gorgeous viewpoints. You MUST buy a state park reservation to get in, it easy, just plan ahead. Parking and bathrooms were great, the park ranger who greeted us was friendly and helpful.

This is a very steep climb! So make sure you are prepared to take it slow if need be. I would recommend bringing a lot of water to stay hydrated, some shoes with good tread, a hat and sun glasses, and sunblock!

Enchanted Rock State Park provided an unforgettable family hiking experience! The friendly and helpful park staff made the start smooth and enjoyable. The hike encompassed various terrains - from walking alongside a river to navigating brush and steeper sections. Even with those challenges, it was manageable for our kids. The trail offered scenic views, especially passing by large boulders that were perfect for memorable photos. Reaching the summit was rewarding. Encountering kids exploring cave systems added an extra layer of excitement. A place full of adventure and exploration, offering an abundance of opportunities to discover!

Great endurance hike up the big rock. Didn’t get to any of the back side trails but we roamed around the rocks and trails on it. Be careful how you climb down if going down the sides as it can be steep in places. The ranger in the office was informative and really helpful in buying some items from the shop.

Enchanted Rock is the largest pink granite monadnock in the United States, standing at 425 feet tall. It offers a short, yet enjoyable and challenging hike, with the summit trail being moderately difficult. However, once you reach the top, you'll be rewarded with an amazing view of the surrounding area. It's important to bring plenty of water bottles and a towel, as there are no restrooms or water sources available on the trail. Please exercise caution while climbing the rock.

this was my first state park visit ever and i loved it top to bottom! easy to locate, park, shop etc. the hike itself is so beautiful. not difficult but kinda vertigo-y since there’s no tree cover to stop you from seeing drops 😅 i was truly enchanted!

Monday, March 11, 2024 my wife and I went to climb the Enchanted Rock. For us it was a challenge but it was worth it. The view at the top is amazing, you look around it's like watching a Western movie. It's great for families and friends. I recommend it.

Simply a magical place. Do yourself a favor, and go in late September, to early October when the Monarch butterflies flock to their gardens. Its a breathtaking spectacle to behold. Lots to do there, great place for a family day. Food is a bit lackluster and pricey, but a nice option. Wine bar is a lot of fun, and the grounds are wonderful.

This was such a great place to visit. So many cool things to buy and so many seeds to try and grow yourself. We loved that we could walk to the butterfly section and enjoy the butterfly, flowers, bees, and the humming birds. We also did the sweet wine test which cost 15 for 4 tastings. The place was very nice and the lady serving us really gave us a good amount of info about she was serving us. This is a great place to take the kids and let them get a little tired running around. Will definitely be coming back.

4/5/2024 This is my kind of place. They had a lot of nice things to look at. It was a beautiful day to walk around the farm. There were a lot of people here and the staff was friendly. I didn't buy anything though because the prices were more than I wanted to pay. Four stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Went right in the middle of prime wildflower season and there were no flowers of note on the walking path. An adjacent field was filled with bluebonnets but you had to drive there and park on the side of the road. Then try to take photos through a barbed wire fence. Huge, cute gift shop with wildflower seeds was the best part.

We had the BEST time here today! Our wine tasting host was awesome and it’s one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been!!! 10/10! Wine and atmosphere was incredible. (Also the ice-cream was to die for!) I wish I could come back here everyday! (That being said I live out of state and would love to be able to keep up with this place... I was trying to find an Instagram and could not... that would be so cool!)

A wonderful place to visit, they have live music and the ambiance is really good. Do try the wine tasting there, and meet Marla, who's the attendee she will help you with various information as well regarding various types of wines. She is a really sweetheart 💕 10 on 10 to her. Its vintage style and decor are with the help of a barrel. The farm has a huge range of wild flowers and various types of butterflies 🦋 and planting decor and equipment. Even try peach ice cream 🍦 it's delicious 😋

This place is truly enchanting. I highly recommend visiting this place with lot of butterflies and it's an awe-inspiring sight. There are plenty of activities to engage in, making it an ideal destination for a memorable family day. Additionally, I must mention the delightful cone ice cream they offer, specifically the vanilla and peach flavors. It is a scrumptious combination that will surely satisfy your sweet tooth. Furthermore, their vegetable salad is perfect—fresh, crisp, and bursting with flavors. It's a refreshing option that complements the ice cream beautifully.

It was a little small but super cute! The walking paths are all gravel so be careful. It had some cute photo opportunities. The shops are full of interesting stuff and the people were nice. The plant shop was my favorite! It's a great place to grab some family photos for free.

I love how there’s just a little bit of everything here! It’s so peaceful walking through the flower garden and the shops had so much to look at. They have an outdoor garden for those wanting a plant to take home, as well as seeds with a detailed description of how to plant to keep them alive. We also did wine tasting, and their wine is a little on the dry side, but delicious! Their sangria is amazing and I loved the sampling of their wines. A great place for families or for a girl’s trip.

Wildseed Farms offers a little of everything. Their most famous part is their wonderful gardens. In spring you'll find literal fields of blue bonnets and red poppy. The herbs and flowers for sale are full and lovely. There is a restaurant and wine bar insides, as well as a gift shop. This is really a venue that the entire family can enjoy.

Absolutely amazing place! It has a very unique charm about it, the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The scenery is unbeatable. Stunning. This was our first experience at a winery and it was perfect. Will definitely come back again.

We have been visiting Wildseed Farm for at least the past 5 years now. It never disappoints. Our granddaughter loves the 🦋 garden and all the yard art and spinners. Their snacks and sandwiches are delicious and the variety at the gift shop is awesome. I always find something unique. They have added a wine tasting room but we have not had the opportunity to attend those events. The staff are always very friendly and attentive and the grounds are clean and neat. Lots of parking. Oh yeah, you can purchase plants for your 🏡 garden.

Stopped in for wine tasting at wild seed farms and it far exceeded any expectations. Wild Seed Farms went beyond the perfect wine tasting setting which is very intimate, formal wine room. See the picture below with a great list of wines for tasting. You also have the experience of walking the farms and seeing all of the wonderful flowers, butterfly fields and just beautiful scenery set here at this very quaint, but sophisticated establishment. This is a must stop for anyone touring the fredericksburg area looking for a great wine tasting experience with so much more. They have a large in store retail center selling everything from yard art, seeds, flowers, plants and artwork. And on just a closing note thier wine was pretty good too. 5 stars and a round of applause 👏 🙌.

Always a wonderful place to visit in the Spring! My family and I have been going here since they opened in 1997 and it never disappoints. Beautiful flowers, gardens, gifts, and now a winery! It's the perfect day trip to escape the crowds in Austin and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Love this place!! Me and a group of friends came here for a bachelorette party and had such a wonderful time. There’s so much to do here, I feel like there’s something for everyone. We did a guided sweet wine tasting and all the pours were so good, highly recommend the sangrias. The pretzels and charcuterie board were yummy and paired perfectly. Sean was our waiter and was so attentive and accommodating when we wanted to take home some bottles after we walked the trail. The wine tasting room is gorgeous, very inviting and the live music was such a vibe too. The wildflower trail is lovely! We came in late March and the blooms were stunning. Great for pictures and to just take in the nature. Thank you Wildseed Farms for making our visit so memorable! P.S. Co-signing the other reviews saying to get the peach ice cream 😋

I came for seeds and ended up wine tasting!!! Needless to say I killed two birds with one stone. Beautiful plants and very tasty wine. Hated the live music. Please consider finding someone else that was a mood killer. Every thing else was great!

Did a wine tasting. Service was (5 star) wonderful!!! However, the majority of wines were not to our favorites (why rated it a 4 star). The sangrias were good (both white and red)!!! We purchased the red to take home. 😀🍷 The flowers were pretty.

We are never disappointed at Grape Creek. We get lucky enough to get Josh as our wine steward most of the time. He's fantastic. Always has great recommendations, he is on point with his descriptions of the wines and he has great cat stories!!!!

Visited Grape Creek for tasting, wine tour and lunch. End of harvest time. Tour included barrel tasting comparing three different oak barrels, tour of cruising pad and tasting room. Lunch on patio - booked day before. Pizza and salad all very fresh. Tasting ambassador Kalene L. was so knowledgeable and helpful through the tasting process! Definitely the highlight of the tour. Highly recommended if visiting this area (way better than Signor)

Awesome experience as always. Sat on the patio sand enjoyed some great wine and the cheese n meat plate from the small bites menu. Joshua Stafford did an excellent job in making us feel welcomed and even helped us in expanding our membership to the Owners Club.

Lovely place to learn a bit about wine making while sipping wine from different type of oak barrels. The staffs are nice and knowledgeable. Tastings are fun with a good variety of selections offered. Vineyard itself is beautifully arranged and fun to walk around. Perfect day trip destination from Austin!

I took my husband to this vineyard on his birthday to experience wine tasting and he absolutely loved it. It was a nice vineyard located on the hill country. Wine collections were so good and authentic. Our host treated us well and it was a fun experience. If you want their wine to be delivered home on a regular basis, they do have membership plans. PS - Wine tasting experience cost is $30 per person.

We have been members here for almost a year. We decided to join because of the exceptional wines, the amazing food (Stouts Restaurant), and the scenery. I highly recommend taking the wine tour. It's fun and educational. The only criticism I have is the process of picking up wine, sitting and enjoying wine, eating, and/ or doing tastings is very inconvenient. Even with an appointment, the greeters are not very welcoming. They don't even bother to greet you. They are, in my opinion, and the opinion of guest who have accompanied us, are quite rude. I wish they were more welcoming, especially seeing that we travel a long way to come here. If it wasn't for the great wine, we would probably not be members because of the way we are greeted every time we visit. Other than that, this is a beautiful vineyard with amazing wines!

I visited Grape Creek Vineyards this past weekend with my Mom, grandma and Aunt for my birthday had had an amazing experience. The wine tour and wine tasting was very educational and Samantha was extremely knowledgeable and made a great impression on us. Thank you to the entire Grape Creek team for a memorable day.

What a great experience! My husband and I did the taste and tour this weekend. It was educational, fun, and delicious! Shoutouts to our driver, Cam, our winery guide, Monica, and Laurie our wine server at the end of the t&t! We did become members and visited the patio for our free glass today and had a delicious artichoke dip and hummus plate. Josh on the patio was a great wine steward too!

The guy at our front entrance gave us a warm greeting! He helped me pick out wine and shared a little tip on how to store it: the cork needs to stay wet to prevent the wine from oxidizing, so keep your wine tilted. The inside of the building was very clean and classy, reminding me of a fine dining restaurant. The customer service was excellent; they retrieved the wine quickly, and I was able to get in and out in under 10 minutes. Despite not drinking myself, I bought the wine as gifts, and I'm sure my friends will love it! Additionally, both the restrooms and the outdoor walking area were nice and clean. I highly recommend visiting here!

We loved taking the tour of Grape Creek Vineyard. Laurie, our tour guide was amazing. She was knowledgeable about how the wine is made, answered All of our questions, and was fun. We were the last tour of the day and Laurie was at the top of her game, sharing information, talking personally with each couple, etc. It was a great experience. The rest of the staff in the main building were also courteous and helpful. The grounds are beautiful. We were so impressed that we joined the wine club. Will definitely be coming back often.

We did the wine tour and tasting and had such a great time! There are so many wineries to visit in the Fredericksburg area but this one is highly rated for good reason. They grow most of their grapes on the grounds and you can’t find their wine in stores. You can definitely taste the difference in the tastings. Definitely recommend if you are in the area. Do keep in mind that they are super strict about time. We called ahead to let them know we would be 5 to 10 mins late and they had to shift us to a later tour.

This was our very first vineyard and wine tasting experience and Laurie was so knowledgeable and helpful in selecting our tastings. We elected to join the Members Club and had a lovely afternoon enjoying our wine selection and small bites. Looking forward to coming back!

Kalene was our wine tasting expert and not only was she so sweet, she suggested such wonderful wines by asking the perfect questions to hone in on one's she new I would like! She was so knowledgeable in helping us pick our wines according to our preferences and palate and had such a great rapport with us that we became members. Visit and ask for Eve if you go over to Grape Creek Vineyards. We were so pleased we went back the next day for lunch and more wine.

aw Reckless Kelly there on 10/21. Band was great and so was the venue. Crowd was a little rowdy, but look at the entertainment. Full bar and clean restrooms. Over all a clean establishment. If the show was right, I'll go there again. Only negative thing was that Reckless Kelly's lead in act was not good.

Went to see A tribute to Motown, and it was absolutely fantastic. Very talented performers, who got people up and dancing in no time (though you can stay seated if you so desire) Friendly staff and great atmosphere.

Awesome place, never knew of the place. Awesome Led Zeppelin cover band. Other cover bands come soon, if you're in town you have to look this place up. Also nice little bar.

My boyfriend and I checked out the Rockbox Theater for an Elton John tribute night as we are big Elton John fans. The concert was awesome, and I couldn't believe how reasonably priced everything was. My boyfriend and I still talk about how impressed we were with the quality of artists that night. We will definitely check out the theater the next time we are in Fredericksburg!

The staff/ owners were friendly and helpful. The seating was great and the tribute musicians for Woodstock Daze were absolutely outstanding. The parking was a bit of a mess, but other than that I would recommend this establishment and would visit again.

Saw Rodney Crowell, great show, super helpful people, strong drinks, no annoying drunk teenagers, no smoking, even better no vaping! Check it out you’ll like it! Luckenbach, Floores, Gruene Hall are all great, but being shoulder to shoulder with the masses gets old. This was not that!

Fredericksburg's Rockbox Theater is awesome! The sound and lights really impressed me. Seats are very comfy, and staff is very helpful in finding your seat. Located 99 steps off Main St. 5 stars 🌟

Our seats were in Row G, and I could not see the performance. Either the performer needs to be on a higher platform or the seats need to be elevated on a better slope. I was glad when they showed him on the screen, but for that small of a venue, I would expect to be able to see the performer. I wish I had not bought tickets to see the Elvis performance because I am sure I will not be able to see him.

Up from South Padre Island, We needed a pause for the cause! The Fburg never let's us down. We've seen numerous shows here @ the Rockbox throughout the years. Once again, the sound and lighting were spot on! The band was stellar to say the least! We've grown accustomed to awesome performances at this incredible venue. Needless to say, once again, they didn't disappoint. My 87-year-old father had a fantastic experience! Sure wish South Padre Island had this level of entertainment. Once again, the Hill County will have to do.... Plotted. Scouts Screening!

Great place to visit while at Fredericksburg highly recommend a smaller exibit but it shows the complete history of Chester Nimitz. I really enjoyed the interactive portions of the exibit as well as videos they had playing.

Very well put together museum with lots of history and historical artifacts to look at. Went there specifically to see a Japanese flag my father captured while retaking the Falkland Islands back that was signed by the platoon, but it wasn't on display. Was told to call ahead next time for a meeting with the curator and see the flag. At any rate, it's a very nice museum with lots to look at. A very extensive gift shop, and lots to see outside. Definitely a "must see" when you go to Fredericksburg TX.

Great place to visit in a small town. Huge collection of war memorabilia. Everything you need to know about the Pacific War is right there on video or plaques. Brought the kids and they loved it to.

2023.02.15 This was sadly unbelievable how I was taken back in time for most wars all over the world; not just the USA's. I could not have learned all these facts in history class, high school, or college. Every kid needs to see these videos! This museum was wonderfully put together and organized. I enjoyed the interaction the museum offered. The recorded legacy of Admiral Nimitz reminded me of the "greatest generation ever known." What a playbook! Whom do we see in 2023 that follows those morals and ethics? This review also includes the Bush museum. I saw a little Japanese 2 man mini-sub there. When and where will we see that??

Wonderful experience. The museum chronicles the war in the Pacific from its origins to the surrender. The exhibits are wonderful and I have never seen a museum like it. Worth a 4 drive

The smallest branch of the Pacific War Museum, the Nimitz Gallery is a nice way to pass along some history while also honoring one of America's greatest war heroes and military mind. Admiral Nimitz was originally from Fredericksburg, so it's appropriate that he would be honored and memorialized in this way. Also, part of the museum sits on the land that was at one time the location of the Nimitz Hotel, which was built and owned by Admiral Nimitz's father. I certainly learned a lot about this great American, and icon of the Navy . (Go Army-Beat Navy!)...sorry, I had to. Regardless of my military academy football allegiance, I enjoyed the Nimitz Gallery. Another wealth of historical knowledge. 👍

Entrance to the Admiral Nimitz Gallery is included with the ticket to the Pacific War Museum. Located in the Historic Nimitz Hotel built in 1855. Beautiful historic building and statue of Admiral Chester W. Nimitz. Unfortunately we didn't have the time to spend at all the war museums. Without a doubt we're planning on another trip to Fredericksburg to spend in the museums.

When we bought our tickets for the Museum of the Pacific War, it came with this gallery, the George H. W. Bush Gallery, and the Pacific Combat Zone, as well as the Memorial Courtyard and Japanese Garden of Peace. I did a separate review of the Museum. We absolutely loved the plaza and the gardens. They were beautiful. Everything is very well done. You can easily spend a whole day here if you love history. I can’t recommend this whole experience enough. Please take the time to work it in your schedule!

Wear some comfy shoes for lots of walking. Plenty af benches for taking a break made my 70 year old legs happy. It's a huge place so seeing it all in one visit would be a challenge. Very interesting museum chocked full of wartime artifacts.

Was incredibly interesting to come see the museum for the Admiral my old ship was named after.

We came in December when it was about 75°F and we didn't stay until dusk. So, we didn't see any bats. One of the employees said that most bats already migrated south. We enjoyed a pleasant but short hike. The main trail was not difficult for the average hiking enthusiast, but there were some other trails with varying degrees of difficulty that we didn't try. The steepest part was climbing up and down the stairs leading to the view of the tunnel.

My son even gave me a "good job mom!" As he came up from the lower area! Our guide on top was very knowledgeable and entertaining! Thanks for a great experience! Side note. You gotta get the walking stick medals! I'm trying to see all 89 parks in 5 yrs and I can't stand it that one of the best experiences isn't represented on my stick!

You certainly, absolutely, know when you are near the opening of the bat cave. Not like the hidden one in batman episodes. It's a 2D event with a cool site and smell.

Old Tunnel State Park is the smallest State Park in Texas but don't let that stop you from visiting. The major draw here is the Mexican Freetail Bats that are inside the tunnel.... We visited this park the 1st day of January 2022 and we still still saw bats even though technically its Winter... When you look down the tunnel focus on the light on the other end and you will see that's flying back-and-forth across... You could probably see them if you zoom in with your camera but you will see them extremely up close if you use a good pair of binoculars... If the bats fly out around sunset... The trail closes at 5 PM.. If that's to allow the bats to fly out freely without disruptions from people.. The tunnel was once used as a train route from Fredericksburg to San Antonio... Once it was no longer needed, the rails were pulled up and the bats moved in soon after.. Millions of them...

Such a fun night. We sat up top because the "below section" was full. Tbh I didn't know there were sections so whatever. We saw the bats from north flying over and the bats coming out of the tunnel! Very fun. FREAKIN BATS! It's not far and so much less crowded than Austin, we will come back for sure.

Very nice park, wish I had time to stay for the bats. There's a beautiful viewing area to watch the bats from. I'm sure this is a great spot in the evenings. If you're in the area, got to check it out.

Small park but a nice little loop trail and the big attraction of the old railroad tunnel that is home to bats. Even during the day, train your binoculars on the tunnel entrance and you'll see bats flying around (during the right season). It's a free park but you need to get tickets in advance to stay after 5 p.m. to see the bat emergence (May through August).

We had an excellent experience here. Made reservations for the lower deck viewing (recommended) in advance on the state park website. Enjoyed the background provided by the volunteer who was with us for the viewing. Such an incredible experience to watch 3 million bats emerge from this 1913 tunnel. My photo of blurs does not begin to do the emergence justice. Totally worth the time to get out to see them. They'll be leaving soon for warmer areas south, but highly recommended for visitors of all ages.

Because of the recent weather, the bats were not coming out until after dark, so we couldn't have seen them if we'd stayed. However, the ranger on duty knew everything there was to know about bats and could answer any questions you might ask. The park is open with no entrance fee during the day for hiking.

It was such a fun experience. I came earlier in the day and walked the trail. It was kinda short but it was definitely worth doing. There's a bridge in front of the tunnel and I was able to see the bats moving around inside. Once it closed, I attended the bat viewing in the lower section and wow seeing that many bats come out at the same time was so cool. My only possible gripe is that they no longer have a store and I was unable to get a hiking medallion for this park.

Very interesting presentation and, while the actual number of bats is down due to the heat and drought, it was still awesome inspiring to watch the 1000s of bats leave for their nightly feeding. If you can't get tickets for the lower level, go anyway! The upper level viewing is quite a sight as well.

What an awesome experience! We went Saturday evenings. We arrived at 8:30pm & had lower viewing area tickets. Yes, you need to purchase your tickets beforehand. They don't sell them at the site. Buy them early, they tend to sell out. His presentation was very informative. I recommend getting there earlier, like 45 min before they may take off. He was already speaking when we arrived & most of the seats were gone. Unfortunately, due to recent rains, the bats didn't come out until after sundown, but the ranger had a red light he used to illuminate the bats every now and then. It blew my mind how long it took for them to emerge & the tornado pattern they used to do it. They started coming out at 9:06pm. No flashlights or camera flashes. The rangers will explain why in their presentation. If you can, go during a dry spell. They'll come out earlier because they have to fly further to find food. That way you'll maybe get to see the bats with the sun still up. That would have been nice, but we still really enjoyed & recommend this experience. Oh, there isn't a restroom here. Also, go eat at the Alamo Springs Cafe beforehand (and use their restroom). Its right next door. Their burgers are spectacular!

Really simple and easy trail. The sounds of all the birds chirping is really soothing. I would recommend watching all the bats come out of the tunnel at night, make sure you make your reservation online though.

The trail is steep and very rough, but most areas have a firm rail and plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view. Lots of information posts. We were the only people there, and it was so quiet that you could hear the wind in the trees and all the birds.

This is the smallest park in the Texas State Park system at 16 acres. It was fun to walk on the trail and look at the tunnel, looking forward to coming when the bats return. Plenty of places to sit, the trail is steep and there are stairs, if you struggle with walking this is not the place for you, sorry.

Unfortunately the bats came out late so we didn't get the best view. I enjoyed the park rangers informative talk before the bats started exiting. There is a nice short walking trail to enjoy too. Note: you have to buy bat viewing tickets online,

Loved the build of the wooden platforms and stops. Going down to the bat observation area and stairs further, the smell of urine/guano? was overwhelming. The upper trail was not taken because it was not marked clearly.

We missed the bats. They migrated the first part of October. Still a nice park to visit. Beautiful views. Smallest state park in Texas.

Small state park out in the middle of no where but interesting bit of history of the area. Nice trails for those that would like to take a hike. Look's to have a Bat Colney in the tunnel during the spring and summer and there are viewing area's to watch them take off in the evening. There is a Great place to eat right near here that makes awesome burgers. It's worth the drive out if you are in the Fredericksburg area.

It was cool to see all of the bats flying around in the tunnel with the sun lighting up the other side of the tunnel. There are restrooms but they are old school supplemented with porta-potties. It's a short walk down to the bridge and tunnel but a fair climb uphill coming back up.

We hiked through the park in January, only one there. Nice day hike. Unfortunately no dogs allowed. Definitely a tourist hang out during bat season. We've seen plenty of bats while camping and hiking in Utah, so not inclined to come here for the crowds.

This was a charming museum with multiple original buildings to explore. I took my nine year old daughter and she truly enjoyed being able to walk through history and get as close as she could to experiencing what life was. I would highly recommend. Their is a fun detail for children to stay engaged, make sure to ask about Frederick.

Self-guided tour of the grounds. Takes about an hour. Some of the buildings are air conditioned. We enjoyed seeing all of the artifacts in each cabin along with the schoolhouse. I loved that the little garden is tended by local elementary students.

Being of German descent I found this museum particularly interesting. We were greeted by a very nice women with lots of information. Loved the way the buildings were displayed with lots of period items. Stop by and enjoy the walk around and you'll learn a bit about the times.

What a great place! So interesting and a great learning experience. The nice lady who helped my friend and I was the best. She explained how to get the most from the self directed tour. When we got done and came back in she answered some more of our questions. Very informative and interesting. We ended up staying in Fredericksburg longer and explored the town.

We were greeted by two kind and knowledgeable ladies working the front desk. She shared her stories from the rich heritage of Fredericksburg and elaborated on the museum we were about to experience..an experience it was. Well preserved, the establishments we're filled with automated audio narrators which really threw your imagination back in that time. 100% would recommend.

The Pioneer Museum in Fredericksburg, TX offers a charming glimpse of the town during its early days. Complete with furnished homes, an old school house, and even a vegetable garden, touring this place will take you back to another era. A must for anyone interested in history and relics from the past!

Attended Pioneer Days while visiting Fredericksburg. Staff were very nice. Restored homes and shops were great to walk through. Authentic decor and audio explanations. The reenacting was fun to with.

One of my favorite stops while visiting Fredericksburg. Very informative about the first Germans that settled there, hardships they endured, and their living conditions. Workers were very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I would highly recommend stopping to visit museum while traveling there for first time.

I've been to museums all over Texas, and the Pioneer Museum was a unique experience presented in excellence and professionalism. This is an area of history that I was not familiar with, so walking these grounds, through the buildings, and reading the materials gave me a new appreciation for this period and location of history. I would absolutely recommend coming to the Pioneer Museum, and while you're at it, visit one of the local German restaurants for a complete experience.

Monday, March 11, 2024 my wife and I had a wonderful time at the Pioneer Museum. These people in this museum were very nice and willing to explain the history of the United States of America from the 1800's . They would explain and show how things were done in that era. I recommend it.

This is the best way to get in the know on all the history of Fredericksburg. We spent a couple hours walking around and in old buildings. Some of these buildings had recorded stories or information. The way this town was settled was very interesting along with the people that have come from here. This is a great place to visit and a must.

This place has a senior and military discount. Even without the discount it is 12 dollars per. They play a 12 minutes video every 15 minutes or so in one of the building. They have all different buildings you can go look into. It was a great time for me and was worth every single minutes. I don't want to spoil(?) too much of it but all I'll say is it was educational and fun! I'm not really a big museum guy but this one was pretty good and I definitely had a good time.

Excellent place to visit in Fredericksburg, Texas! Lots of original artifacts about four generations of a German pioneer family!

The hubby and I came to visit Fredericksburg during the week when it wasn’t so busy. This was our first stop and I’m so glad we made this our first stop with everything we wanted to see. You’ll be taken back in time to see how the German pioneers lived when they arrived. You can go inside all of the different homes, school, barbershop💈and smoke house. They also have a short video to watch about the history of their arrival to the area, that was interesting to watch. It was a fun and neat experience! They also have a gift shop, bottled water to buy and restrooms. This is a fun and educational experience for all ages!

We loved it even if it was 109 when we walked it. All the history was cool to learn. My 5 and 9 year olds and a blast exploring and looking at all the artifacts. There are 9 buildings to explore. If you have the TX kid passport, you can get it stamped here.

A great place to visit for all ages to enjoy. A lot of important facts about our nations history.

The gentleman working there was very helpful, answered all our questions and gave good advice on what to do that interested us.

Absolutely love visiting Fredericksburg! The Visitor Center is fantastic to visit before exploring the city that is full of so much history and culture.

The person helping visitors was so nice and welcoming. He gave us a map of the city, he highlighted the spots that we were interested in.

Its always worth stopping in the Visitor Center. The staff always knows what's happening in town. We stopped by and the lady working was able to recommend some great city parks to visit as well as events in town.

This place is such a godsend. Free parking, free restrooms which are clean and well kept, cute informational things all around, and a little gift shop! Staff was friendly and helpful, and I got some local German mustard from them (delicious!)

We were able to get lots of ideas and reccomendations on where to go and what to see. They also have very clean public restrooms and lots of parking.

I didn’t know what to do in Fredericksburg so my friend and I decided to stop here. Outside the building, there are big letters that you can take pictures with. There are restrooms and the inside has A LOT of brochures for a variety of activities. If you are tired, there is a little bench you can sit on. There was a nice man named Andy who asked if we needed any help. We told him we wanted indoor activities because of the summer heat. He pulled out a map and highlighted some areas for us. Andy went above and beyond to help us feel welcome.

Great place and the staff is so helpful and nice. Provide great information and is willing awnser your questions.

Girl's night out! We went on the 290 wine bus tour available right the parking space in Inn at Baron's in Fredericksburg TX and it was initially not a great ambiance for the first few wine places we stopped by. But this place had mixture of music and it was good! The dj read the crowd And didn't just play one genre. I'm not a fan of rock and country music which is understandable why majority of the wine places play it but this one played R&B, hip hop, Latina etc music! We had so much fun. Having the Maine Food truck was a bonus (that's another review)

Absolutely cool place to visit. Staff was awesome! Then went downtown and went into the wine tasting room/boutique and she was amazing! Got the shirts, the hat, and the frozen drink! Walk down downtown Fredericksburg and enjoy thier wine and a great atmosphere...and this is coming from a Fat 🐴

Both thumbs up!! The owner and all staff were so welcoming and friendly! The music from the DJ was perfect, everyone danced and had a great time! Loved the store! The drinks were yummy!!! This was my favorite place on the tour and I cannot wait to come back!!

There are so many great wineries in this area, but this has been, by far, the best. From the absolutely amazing staff. The well-priced tasting. Last, but absolutely not least, the amazing wine! We stopped at many wineries but this was our favorite! Definitely will be back here in when passing through.

Great place to let your hair down in a casual atmosphere. Tons of fun. Do the $30 package to get full experience of both wine and beer. Great merchandise and nice service. Brewery was quieter with really cool set up and TVs. Highly recommend!

Nice place. We had delicious sliders from the food truck “Slider Provider” and a couple of frozen wine drinks. The live music was also very good.

Cute little place to hang out for awhile with girlfriends or on a date night! Great atmosphere with live music, love the outside area and the fun vibes from inside. Their sangria is absolutely amazing! We will stop by again when in the area!

Overall decent. But i have to call this business out on ripping you off. They charged us $15 per person to take the golf cart for a 2 minute walk going from the winery to the brewery. There was a promise for a tour of the vineyards but it was a 15 year old kid just driving us from the winery to the brewery with no knowledge of the vineyards whatsoever. Avoid this winery. There are plenty of other wineries in the area with a more enjoyable experience.

Good place if you want to dance and have a fun time. It would be nice if the wines on the menu had a description of each one, when I asked they just referred to the wall menu with just the names. Service was not the best for my own personal experience that I asked a question to one of the ladies (older lady with mole on her check and glasses) working at the inside bar and she put her hand on my face and walked away. I understand being busy but to treat someone in that manner is unacceptable.

Fun wines and great prices! Wonderful atmosphere.

As someone who isn’t really a “wine person”, I loved this place. Unfortunately it was cold when we visited, so we didn’t get to utilize the outdoor space but it looked beautiful. It wasn’t the typical sit down wine tasting experience, we instead stood at the bar and sampled 5 different wines (only had 6 to choose from). All the wines were relatively sweet and you do get to keep your tasting glasses. The experience cost us $10/ person. They had lots of different bottles for sale that sounded delicious but they didn’t have samples! I think I would have walked away buying more bottles if I could have sampled them first.

Had a girls trip for a friend's bday. We did the 2 wine tastings, think it was $30. The mimosa was the BEST, everything else was meh. There were a lot of ppl there, it seems like this is a good place 2 hang out and enjoy the vibe. We didn't stay long as we had other plans but we will definitely be back!

Always a stop for us when heading from Austin to Fredericksburg! Stopped right when they opened at 11 AM and there were people already waiting to do tastings! Got their famous peach wine on our stop today - sweet but a fave of ours. Perfect place to hang out: tastings of course, frozen drinks, horseshoe game, covered seating and a food truck for eats. Dogs welcome (as you can see by the special water bowls!). One thing we learned this stop: they don’t carry the standard white wines anymore- mostly reds and their fruit wines. They have added silos with seating for private parties which is a great setup. Make this a stop before you visit the many other wineries!

Randomly walked into this place and realized it was on a list of recommendations given to me by a friend. $30pp tasting (4 wines total) Got paired with Robin, who was such a doll! She obviously could talk our ears off about the wines, but what I appreciated was how easy it was to just chat about life. Our wine tasting felt more like catching up with an old friend. As a part of my self guided rosé tour I tried their 2020 Rose of Malbec. It was so different than what I’d been drinking at other vineyards. So smooth, subtle, round mouth feel. I LOVED it! My friend went ahead and signed up for a membership we enjoyed ourselves so much!

Amazing as always! We're long time members but we hadn't been downtown in a while. They now have nice seats for members. Not the lounging seats like before but nice bar seating. Johna Clark was great! We were able to taste some wines we've never had before and she was so knowledgeable. She made our time there so much nicer! Friendly staff, nice relaxing place and great wine made for a great stop!

Beautiful winery. Shout out to Eve who did our wine tasting! She was very knowledgeable and made it a fun experience for our group. Will definitely come back next time we're in Fredericksburg. They welcomed us as walk-ins for the wine tasting, but would recommend a reservation if you're coming on a weekend when it's busier.

Loved the wines, they speak for themselves. Crisp, perfectly bodied, etc. HOWEVER… this review is for the service. I arrived by myself (solo woman) and none of the women working wanted to do a tasting… they all said “it’s your turn” to the next woman who worked there. I felt like nobody wanted to help me… which made me feel like a bother while I was genuinely interested in trying Texas wines for the first time. I did end up buying bottles I liked, but I felt like a burden the whole time. FYI you make your own experience here.

The wine selection at Grape Creek was also noteworthy. With a solid array of wines to complement the meal, we found the perfect pairing for each course. Due to flight delays, we didn’t get to make it out the main tasting room as planned, but lucky for us, Main Street had a tasting room! I cannot commend Mike enough to explaining the wines and other tidbits to us! I loved ALL of the wines we tried, and we tried comparison pairing. The wines were phenomenal! Had I more room in my suitcase, we would have bought many more than we did. Thank you, Mike, for your incredible knowledge and descriptions and suggestions! My fiancé and I went here yesterday to purchase some bottles for New Years and signed up for the membership with Shannon Warner, who was extremely hospitable. Everyone was so welcoming at this location. We arrived before they closed, just to pick up the bottles and signed up for the membership, but Shannon made sure we tasted wine before we left. Utmost customer service, and she even booked a wine tasting for the next day. Next day we went in for a wine tasting and Chelsea McGuff was our tasting ambassador. Chelsea was wonderful and very knowledgeable. She explained every wine she poured thoroughly and her passion for wine was very noticeable. Chelsea made us feel so comfortable. We even purchased a couple of bottles that we weren’t planning to purchase. We are excited for the membership and can’t wait to get our other 6 bottles shipped to us! Grapecreek has one of the best wines I’ve ever tried! Definitely recommend! Wine and customer service here was 10/10. Thank you both!

I stopped into the tasting room on Main to pick up my Heath Sparkling Wine shipment and enjoy a glass. Shannon was absolutely wonderful, and we started talking about an upcoming roadtrip I’m planning for the west coast. She was so sweet to give me recommendations for must see and visit areas, having lived on the west coast. Can’t recommend this place and a membership with them enough!

Michelle was an amazing host! We’ve been Heath members for years and she made some incredible tasting recommendations to help us experience new Invention Vineyards wines that we loved. I was driving through to Kerrville and I was at the light and saw the peak so I had to come see it for myself. I didn't realize it was part of the Painted Churches till afterwards when I looked up the history. So glad I stopped in. Very beautiful.

I’m a wedding photographer and shoot here somewhat often. It’s always a pleasure. Beautiful prayer garden. Has a large hall space for events. Bridal getting ready room. The chapel itself is stunning to shoot inside as well as out. Downtown so parking can be limited with larger groups.

Beautiful! Breathtaking! Priest is so in love with the Eucharist as it is evident by how he smiles in such a beautiful mesmerizing way as his eyes are fixed upon our Lord. You must register online to make a reservation to make sure you have a spot 😉 for mass. They follow very strict safety protocols.

Beautiful old Catholic Church. Not far from the main street. Easily accessible and nice to walk through and see. There is a smaller church located next to it, it was the original church. Very historical and beautiful glass work.

I am not Cristian however the overall ambience and experience is amazing and beautiful. It is totally worth a visit to see the beautiful and breathtaking stained glass windows.

My family and I spent part of our Saturday afternoon here, and it was a pleasant experience. Upon walking in during our reserved wine tasting time, we were promptly seated at our table. This particular winery works on tokens and you place a token at the counter upon ordering your drinks. This winery was a bit less personal compared to surrounding places in that each wine description is all written on their menus at the table versus having someone educate you. We did partake on their food, and their spinach and artichoke dip was amazing! It came out piping hot and was super cheesy. It definitely hit the spot before our dinner reservations later on. We ended up not purchasing any bottles this visit, but we could always visit their branch in Richmond, Texas next time we're in need of a fix.

Beautiful ambiance. Nice trinkets and gifts you can pick up as keepsakes for yourself and or others. A friend had a membership, so we shared a bottle of wine. It was very light, airy and delicious. They had a nice covered patio area with a singer as well who took song request. I would go back to visit again.

What an experience! The wife and I drove to Fredericksburg for a “mini moon” and enjoyed Messina Hof immensely. We choose two separate wine tastings including one of the bread and butter pairing. Joel was very kind - he noticed we had one wine overlapping in our two tastings and recommended an alternative that we loved. We enjoyed it so much we purchased a bottle. Thank you Joel! Highly recommend Messina Hof Hill Country.

Visited three of the top wineries in Fredericksburg area and hands down Missina Hof was the very best. One only sold wine from Oregon the second that was reviewed to be the best needed to teach their staff how to welcome the public. "SO RUDE". Since we weren't CLUB members we were invisible. Then we went to Messina Hof, very welcoming, extremely knowledgeable staff, with a wonderful atmosphere. The wines were excellent and a great value. Will always be on our travel route in Hill County, plus convenient to stock up in Dallas area at Grapevine TX.

A group of my friends came in on Saturday for a 40th birthday celebration. Tiffany was our representative she was very well informed about the wineries history. Which is such an amazing story. She was also very knowledgeable on all the wines and made great suggestions. This place is amazing and has a stunning wine selection. We will definitely be back.

This place has a weird vibe. The host did a bad job at explaining the difference between the two tastings. She said white wines were $18 and re was $28. Of course once we got to the bar that was not correct. The entire staff seems frazzled and confused. There is no flow to things, the staff just pushes around like things aren’t organized well. I love the Messina Hof wines but hated all of the ones I tried and I rarely dislike wines. Outside area was unpleasant. It looked dirty and run down.

I love this location so much! Their general manager Perla is present and friendly and passionate! The staff is so friendly and so knowledgeable it’s both learning and experiencing delicious wine, flavor and personality! The prices are so affordable compared to other wineries who charge double or triple but Messina is still on par or superior to the rest!!!!! #Yum #WineClub #TheBest

Update: Amazing customer service! Perla at the Hill Country location was extremely helpful and accommodating! She reached out to me the same night I was having issues and worked with the Bryan TX location to offer a full refund within 48 hours. Also offered a complimentary wine tasting and tour where she would personally lead us through the vineyard to taste the grapes before they are harvested! All in all, she went above and beyond and did everything in her power to correct the situation. Not to mention, she was super sweet and accommodating on the phone about answering any questions I had and was able to update our party size for the visit no problem. It’s amazing to know that people like her still exist in the world and we’re all super existed to visit! __________ Website is purposely misleading. Completely ruined my Fredericksburg trip. Bought 8 tickets for the harvest festival only to find out the tickets are for the Bryan TX location 3 hours away when hotel and other bookings are all in Fredericksburg. Website allows you to click on the Hill Country Location in which all following prompts to purchase are complexly void of location (thus emphasizing it must be the hill country location you clicked). Every step of the way tries to trick you (ie. Prominently listing all harvest types with the words “hill country harvest festival” besides it). The fact that all harvests take place in Bryan Texas with the exception of the Sept 1-2 harvest is hidden in fine print. I am unenthusiastic about the prospect of getting a refund and the expectant failure of management to take any correcting action. However, I will update if they decide to do the right thing and refund the amount vs. stealing close to $400 when there is ample notice, time, and ability to authorize a refund given the event is still a month away. No refunds for the tickets are emphasized. Now I understand why. I feel extremely scammed and taken advantage by such a money hungry company.

Susan,Perla, Lynn, and Alberto were alll SO AMAZING!!! They sevied our group of 8 and they answered all our questions and helped guide us to making the best wine choices! We all went home with our favorite bottle and will definitely come back again!!

We went to Messina Hoff today. Claudia S. was the most amazing bartender! She educated us so much on the history of different wines and flavor profiles. She truly was so warm and hospitable and made our first time in Fredericksburg amazing.

I have been to this winery several times but the last two times it was closed. There are no times posted on the gate or the door. Today I tried again with no luck still no times posted. There were three employees in side so I knocked but no one would answer. They could have been courteous enough to answer and let me know when they would open. I like their wine but I will not go back!

They have cottages located behind their main building that you can stay at. Not only is this one of the prettiest wineries you'll see on the main drag but you can spend the night here too! Helps if you plan on getting tipsy while tasting wines here cause you just walk to your cottage! They provide a bottle of prosecco in your room with sweets to enjoy. There's a glass door in the back of the cottage with some chairs to sit and enjoy the sights of the unobstructed view of the woods. So beautiful!

Came to celebrate a friend's birthday and we had an amazing time. Great wine and food selections. Tiffany was our server and she was incredibly knowledgeable and quick to ensure my glass was never empty. Thank you Messina and Tiffany for the excellent service and experience, I will be back for sure!!

Went with friends this past Sunday and Perla along with Claudia attended to us. We were on the wine passport and they were very friendly and accommodating and we stayed well beyond closing time. Sorry, ladies! The conversation was going and the wine was good. One of our favorite wineries to visit while in town and we will for sure stop by again.

The wine is great, the membership is awesome, but this location is a bit lackluster. The views are beautiful, but completely silent except for the sound of cars whooshing by on the road right beside it. Between that and the "blah" servers, it was not the best experience. Both servers just seemed like they were bored and inconvenience by us being there. I had an empty glass on the table as they brought the charcuterie board, and she dropped it and ran. I understand it's a week day, but that is the time to shine, not fall flat. Not to mention, I'm pretty sure one of the cheeses on the cheese board was Velveeta 🤢

Appalling and disgusting. Nothing has been cleaned, used glasses, trash everywhere. I’m a wine member and the VIP was the grossest of them all. Extremely disappointing since I came for a special visit with a friend that had never experienced Messina Hof wines. Don’t even get me started on the food “heat lamp” not the elevated wine experience I’ve known Messina hof to have.

We had a wonderful experience here! Our server alberto was very attentive and very acknowledgeable with the wine selection. Im a sweet drinker so they had an amazing selection!Prices were amazing and affordable. Service was amazing we hope to see alberto soon!

Was greeted by the manager saying we were drunk with water bottles in our hands. Carded like we were 21 with hostility. Woukd not recommend if you are on the 290 tours and adding this to a later stop. I am a 31 year old male left feeling disappointed hy the awesome exterior that is attracting people.

The staff is always so friendly, it's a beautiful location, they have a great wine selection! Tasting room is comfortable. Everything is well maintained and clean. Could not recommend highly enough.

They provided 3 selections for wine tasting that you can choose which was great. Sweet and semi sweet, mix of red, rose, white, and red selection. In my opinion they should use measured pour spouts instead of wine disc to make every pour a standard. All pours weren’t equal sometimes less sometimes more. Also, I’m pretty surprised a huge place like this don’t use glasses with printed logo- however, have as a souvenir for sale. Outdoor looks great but when we were there it was too cold to sit out. Overall will say it’s a good place.

If you want to go to a beautiful property and have a wonderful wine tasting experience, this is the place to go! We were here on a Friday afternoon, sat outside and enjoyed the wonderful weather, some fantastic acoustic live music, great pizza from the Pizza Guy and some of the best wine we tasted in the region. To top it off, Caroline was serving our small group and she was just awesome! She was fun with the group, knowledgeable about the wine and just overall, made our experience that much better! I would highly recommend going here!!

Reservation only at a main part of the tasting room. No seats available (although many tables are open) so forced to stand, hard to enjoy tasting. Felt bad for the large amount of people coming in from the walk in only room that came here to try to get seats too, completely overwhelmed. Would recommend Barons Creek for more of a sit down experience to enjoy the tastings.

For me a very tasteful experience with strong wines, Jon our host was very nice too, giving us enough time to enjoy every drop. The setup it's very nice too.

This place is gorgeous and the wine selection is vast. Collin is the man to meet here and gave us an exceptional level of service. We joined the wine club and will be back again soon!

On a visit to the Fredericksburg wineries, my husband and I came across Texas Wine Collective. We went on a weekday and really enjoyed our experience. Dotty introduced us to some great wines and made us feel right at home. We can't wait to return with friends and taste all that the collective produces.

We had the best time at TWC, this was our favorite stop the whole trip and we visited 8 other wineries. A large part of this was the exceptional service by Tamarind and the wine selections were VERY good! Can’t wait to go back with more friends and family!

I'm not a big wine person but absolutely enjoyed my tasting here. We especially loved our tasting host Merryl! She was so kind and helpful! Definitely worth a stop!

This place was amazing. We tried Randy’s Rose wine and it was so good. I usually only drink super sweet wines but I LOVED his. So good and the atmosphere was amazing. Will definitely be coming back here.

We’re so glad to be a part of the TWC wine club family! TWC has fun Club Sunday events for members with great tastings and food pairings. We also get discounts on all the wine during this time. Today we got 30% off 3 additional bottles! My husband and I chose this winery: 1) because they’re dog-friendly and our girls are always welcomed and 2) everyone there is super friendly and inclusive. We always feel welcomed and have a great time each time we visit. What makes it an extra special experience is the live music, food truck, and of course…the wine!!! All the staff there is awesome! We’re especially fond of Bobbi and Stephanie. They’re both super friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and part of the reason we enjoy coming back to visit. They have delicious wines for all tastes! Give ‘em a try, y’all! I guarantee you’ll want to become a member after your first visit.

We had such a wonderful time while we visited this winery. Huge variety and personalized treatment. We will forever remember our time spent here from beginning to end. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and decided to stop here as my husband had seen a video on YouTube and boy he was right. We had so much fun!! Awesome experience we highly recommend.

We had such a great time here! It was one of our stops on our wine tour with Majesty Tours and we loved it! Stephanie M was so kind and attentive - she was my favorite server of the day. Loved the rosé they gave us upon arrival, it was very delicious!
