The concert was great. Getting there was a nightmare, 40 miles, took 4 hours. We had to walk up 12 flights of stairs, it took over an hour to get out of the parking lot, 3 hours to get home. Baton Rouge is simply not equipped to handle a large event.

We took a tour, I enjoyed the tour and the history. December ,the stadium gets dark early, so we didn't stay outside long. Overall informative, Mike the tiger was beautiful.

I was down here to run in the Billy Cannon 5k. This is definitely worth the registration and some of the wait. The whole experience was very smooth even at packet pick-up. The staff were very helpful in answering questions and providing information about the run. On actual race day the energy was tremendous. The course was laid out well and marked really well to make sure you didn’t make a wrong turn. The finish was awesome. The last stretch you run down the service alley that takes you into the stadium where you are announced as you finish. If you are a runner or starting to run this is a good one for you to start with. There is an awards ceremony and lots of food music and drinks for everyone.

The experience was awesome. Death Valley was awesome. Maybe next time don't put military in the nose bleed seats. We brought the kids and they loved every minute.

I attended a cheerleading awards banquet that was held in Stadium Club South. The accommodations were impressive, the food was really good (probably could’ve used a little more spice, but I get it that they have to appeal to a broader audience) and the views of Tiger Stadium were spectacular. It was extremely cold so I recommend bringing a sweater or something long sleeve.

I went to see the Mississippi State game back in 2022 and the atmosphere was electric! This was my first time seeing an LSU game in person. Hopefully I will go back there in the near future. 🐯

Garth Brooks concert was amazing, but getting out of there was hell and in my opinion a bit dangerous if there was anything ever like the concert in Vegas a few years ago, this is not where you would want to be. It took 3 hours to get to our house that was only 15 min away. Regardless, the sound system was powerful, Garth is a great entertainer and Tiger Stadium was packed to the gills. It was a fun night!

And it is Saturday night in Death Valley!!

An experience unlike anything else in college football!! Our first time here certainly won’t be our last. Can’t wait to bring our kids back to make more memories. Check after market sites for killer deals on tickets.

Being a Tigers fan, wanted to see the stadium while visiting the Baton Rouge area. Was able to get tickets for the tour. Got to see the field area, locker room, and my favorite part, the national championship trophies. Hopefully one of these days I’ll actually get to see a game in the stadium. GO TIGERS!!!

Best experience ever. This was my first home game match and it was really great match because till last round it was unpredictable who is going to win. Thrilling and amusing experience when you sit in the stadium. People cheers alot and hooting for their team. Must visit! My personal recommendation to visit and vibe it!

Always love going to Tiger Stadiulm (AKA Death Valley), especially when the Tigers win!!! It's a beautiful stadium! Tailgating is where all the fun is prior to the game! Don't forget to watch the band head down Victory Road or miss the players arriving.

Cool place but, workers/Attendants are rude and not helpful. Didn't bother to tell us where our seats where when my wife asked, while another patron helped and told us, and then another one got upset with me when I tried to get drinks and they don't take cash, who doesn't take cash??

This place is huge! I don't think there is a bad seat here. We sat in the 600's and had a clear view of the entire field. They had three giant screens you could see from any seat as well. Security was great.. they handled themselves professionally and friendly. The vendors were good, but their prices seemed a bit much for my walet. Getting in was trouble-free, but you'll need any bag you want to carry in to be clear so it can be viewed from a distance. Getting back out to your car was trouble-free. Exiting the area was efficiently guided by the local police and sheriff's departments. If you follow their directions, you'll be back on I-10 in 8 to 10 minutes.. easily.

Absolutely gorgeous! Stunning architecture and stained glass. Wonderfully pleasant employees. Cute gift shop with great Louisiana gifts. I didn't have time to look at the museum much but it looked very well laid out and informative.

The only downside is a lack of parking; I recommend getting here early so you can guarantee a spot. Amazing stained glass upstairs. Downstairs has a very interesting room detailing the history of the various buildings that have been the Louisiana capital. Another interesting room detailing the restoration of this capital building. Also, they have a small alcove in one of the congress rooms upstairs with kids activities; the ones when I went were actually fun. They have a nice gift shop too: I found an awesome brown pelican plush there! Out front off to the side is a box car covered in the coats of arms of all the provinces in France; it's a bit more than that, but I'll let you see what it is for yourself. If you're in Baton Rouge and you're into history, I highly recommend you come here.

Absolutely GORGEOUS architecture & completely free to visit. We stopped in while having lunch downtown. Not a lot of other visitors, & (as long as you don't use a flash) you're able to take as many pictures as you like.

What a beautifully restored building. What a shame they built a new one. So much interesting history on display here. To be able to walk into the house and senate chambers lets you imagine being there. Big display about Huey Long was VERY interesting. Everything is so gorgeous.

A beautiful place that looks like a castle from the outside and is full of history on the inside. There's a wealth of historical information to read and artifacts to examine. Free admission. No parking on-site, but plenty of inexpensive metered parking around.

What an awesome museum! It’s absolutely extraordinary that this historic building is still standing! Just walking up to it felt really cool! The staff was really nice as well and the whole building is so well kept. I think my favorite part was seeing the ceiling mural. The colors and ambiance that it creates is amazing! Best free museum I’ve ever been to!

This is wonderful and historical Louisiana treasure. As soon as you walk in, you will be greeted by the friendly staff. There are physical maps you can use or scan the QR code to your the building. The stained glass ceiling is impeccable so be sure to look up and snap a picture. There is so much history displayed so there will be plenty to see. This is an educational experience the whole family can enjoy. Be sure to check out the governor’s room and the Huey P Long exhibit.

Louisiana's Old State Capitol sits on a hill overlooking the Mississippi River in downtown Baton Rouge. Completed in 1849, the castle-like fortress has been restored to its original grandeur. It houses both traditional and state-of-the-art interactive exhibits and a multi-media film presentation. Audio tours available in English, French, German and Spanish. Free admission. We parked our car at a public parking two blocks away from the museum. The parking cost 10 dollars a day. We walked to see the Mississippi River before entering the Old State Capital. The Capital is beautiful but small. The lady volunteer at the Capital told us about the history of the Capital. The stained glass was beautiful. The staircase was nice. The exhibition rooms were excellent.

What a great spot! There is a video for $2 you can watch while there that should be better advertised, it was wonderful! It gives the history of the building and the evolution of how it came to be, then how it was restored. All of the exhibits were just perfect. I would recommend this for anyone in the area. The museum itself was free. You may have to pay for parking. I can not begin to say properly how beautiful this building is. Just come.

Stopped by to see the old capital building and were impressed with the free museum in the building. Very nice photo gallery of John F Kennedy. Beautiful stained glass ceiling.

Great little museum and self-guided tour of the ship. The tour was very thorough and covered most of the ship. We only had an hour, which was just enough time to get a good look at the ship itself without lingering in any one area too long. I plan to come back another time to look at the museum and take a little more time onboard the Kidd.

So cool you definitely need to check it out! We went on a bad day it's super hot inside the ship! Heat index 115!!! Lots to see lil shop inside was neat! So much to look at!

It was good. Respectfully I didn’t touch anything since they had asked us not to but would’ve been nice due to the fact a lot of other ship museums allow you to touch things. Certain area were cut off making the tour shorter. Overall it was alright.

This is an awesome place! The history here is amazing. It's a self guided tour and all you have to do is follow the numbered arrows on the ship. There is a nice gift shop and the museum is in the same building. The staff was absolutely wonderful from the gift shop and on the ship. Elijah was the docent on the ship to help get you started. He was awesome and full of great info about the USS KIDD! I highly recommend going here. Especially if you like WWll history!

Some nice exhibits, including battleship models and explanations of naval warfare in different conflicts, but the main attraction is obviously the USS Kidd itself. The ship is moored just outside the museum, and there's a self guided tour which takes you through many of the ship's compartments and onto many different levels of the deck. You can climb into the seat of some of the 40mm guns and into the "cabins" of the larger 5 inch guns. Really gives you a great insight to what it was like as a sailor or marine in WW2. Admission was about $13 per adult, and we spent approximately two hours in total.

Really cool! Definitely worth you time and my kids are enjoyed it too. You get to walk through the boat and and go up and down and explore. Sitting on the Mississippi River there are amazing views of the river and some bridges. Lots of history here!

Great stop when traveling through Baton Rouge! The staff was so friendly and super helpful. The museum is perfect for any US Military, naval and maritime history buff. The Large model ships were a huge hit with my kiddos. The destroyer was great and my kids just loved exploring it. Beautiful views of the Mississippi. The grounds were very well kept. Fantastic historical experience.

Wonderful piece of history here. So much detail for the size of the museum. The staff was very knowledgeable, helpful and respectful. Great time with the kid here. The conditions they lived and worked in really can humble you.

It's a nice museum if you are interested in the military and history of the US. The USS Kidd is a warship that ha seen so many battles. Going on it was a great experience. There are two items of improvement that cost them one star. First and most important: the place is not wheel accessible. This surprised me. A disabled vet on a wheelchair cannot enjoy this place. 😒 the second problem is lack of guidance and explanation. There was no staff to explain about this amazing warship. I know staff is always a problem. But in 2022, you definitely can use technology to have some multimedia tools for visitors.

Wonderful sight to relive and honor those who served in WWII. The historical record and artifacts are profound, moving and educational. The ship is not only accessible, but in excellent condition. A really eye opener. The grounds on site and museum building are impeccably maintained. We accessed from disembarking on a riverboat cruise. This a a cannot miss experience.

We visited the USS Kidd back in May. The museum portion is great and very informative. Since the Kidd is a destroyer it is tight navigating through the ship for the tour. Just be careful! I could see it being harder to speak to a group about a point in the tour because there’s not a lot of gathering space at each point so you may want several people with the tour info if you have a larger group. The team at the ticket counter / gift shop were really nice! Parking was a little difficult. There is limited parking right in front of the museum but if you miss it and you’re unfamiliar with the area and the one-way streets it’s a bit difficult to circle around back to the museum.

My 4 year old son had a blast! Both in the museum and the USS kid! Recommend it for something fun, educational and interesting for the family.

Great museum. You can explore almost the whole ship, very informative, all staff is great! Limited free parking in front of the museum. We arrived around noon on Saturday and parked with no problem. You can easily explore downtown on foot from here.

Really nice ship tour experience. My 8 and 12 year old liked this better than other ships we have toured because the ship map and tour information make it easy to know what you are looking at. This ship is really well preserved and neat to tour. Public parking lots are nearby and offer pay by plate options.

10/10 recommend! The ship was an amazing experience, we even took our 3 & 1 year old on it (there are latter's you will have to climb down/ up so be aware) and the price to go was a only 14 a piece. Inside the building was lots of cool things to see to!

This is my recommended spot in Baton Rouge. It's been maintained, and I think the condition is good. The inside of the ship is very tight so please be careful.

The museum is worth a stop, lots of information. Ship will be going into dry dock for repairs, worth the stop is she is still in the weather. Beward lots of ladders.

This museum and ship are amazing! Reasonable admission price. Limited parking in front, the nearest lot is more than a block away. The ship is dry docked, but the walkway to it is paved and not covered, so be aware of that on hot days. The ship is not handicap accessible at all. Keep in mind, young and healthy people worked on this ship, so narrow walk ways and steep narrow stairs inside. No air conditioning inside the ship. Inside the museum is amazing. It is air conditioned. Great displays, well laid out and maintained. Employees are friendly. Prices in the gift shop are reasonable. I would recommend the museum for everyone and the ship for those who are in good shape.

We love visiting Mike whenever we're in Baton Rouge. He's very frisky in the morning. LSU has done a great job of creating a beautiful habitat for a tiger.

His habitat is very spacious and clean with plenty of space for him to secluded himself should be choose to. It also allows visitors plenty of space for viewing and getting some good pictures of our beloved LSU Tiger. Geaux Tigers!!

Visiting Mike is always a must if on campus for a game or near campus and able to walk to his enclosure. The Vet students and staff take excellent care of Mike! I went and saw him last weekend for the LSU Auburn game (10/14/2023) and he was enjoying the breeze and shade ❤️

Very nice to see a University with a live mascot. Mike is a rescued tiger. Great place to bring young kids!

Mike the Tiger is a beautiful Bengal Tiger right next to Tiger Stadium. Was pretty cool seeing a full grown tiger on a college campus. Pleasure we got to see Mike VII.

At first, I didn’t believe there will be a living tiger. Now I saw it and I must say it was an amazing experience. I liked the place most and personally feel this is a must see if you are going to Baton Rouge.

A free tiger exhibit?? Where else will you get that?? Thrilling to see a real tiger so up close, and Mike even gave us a show by vomiting out a hairball. Great place to take your kids for a cheap (free) thrill.

Took the family to see Mike and it was a hit! Mike is very active and was right up next to the fence for our entire visit. The enclosure is designed so you can very close and we were able to get great pictures of him. You will never get this close to a tiger in a zoo. Overall it was a great visit and I know the family will want to come back soon.

Mike's habitat is so beautiful, and he looked so healthy!!

If you're in the area, why not?! The LSU campus is beautiful and walking around the stadiums is easy. Mike is easy to find. There are some historical plaques about past "Mikes".

What a great exhibit to visit and see how well LSU has provided a habitat for Mike the Tiger that looks better than many zoos habitats for tigers! I recommend visiting on the weekend when the gates are up and students are not crisscrossing the roads at all times.

Wanted to see LSU and Mike the tiger while in Louisiana. Initially Mike was lying down near his shelter, but eventually he walked around and we got some good views of him.

We stumbled on this museum because it was near our hotel but it was the best discovery of our trip. They have moved building here from all over Louisiana which were built in the 18th and 19th centuries and filled them with authentic furniture and implements. I found each of the 32 buildings fascinating. In addition, they have two exhibit barns that are filled to the rafters with various tools, implements and objects of everyday life. They also have detailed descriptions of life in Louisiana from that era. If you like history and to actually see how people lived and scratched a living from the soil in the early days of Louisiana, then you could not have a better place to explore than this museum. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time because the longer you look the more you see.

A great look into the past!! A lot of artifacts on display along with a multiple 18th century buildings outside on the grounds.

Yesterday morning we visited the LSU Rural Life Museum in Baton Rouge. Notice quilts hanging above. We especially enjoyed the Barn, an interior warehouse, exhibiting the life of working people on a 19th-century plantation, with much focus on the lives of enslaved persons. There is a large collection of farming equipment, tools, furnishings and utensils. The rose gardens were in full bloom.

Such a cool place. We loved seeing all this place has to offer. Even my kids were into it. They learned alot about many different things but their favorite thing was the jail house! We'll definitely come back for demonstration and harvest. This place is a hidden gem.

The buildings and grounds are a gorgeous walk. Some brought in from other parts of Louisiana. Honestly, there are so many artifacts in the main set of museum buildings that you just get overwhelmed. Take your time. Come multiple times. There is so much to take in. Being from a northern state, sugar production, for one, is a very foreign product so it is fascinating to understand the history.

First time ever to visit my granddaughter was there on a field trip, I was invited brought back alot of childhood memories! Alot of nostalgic things, the staff was excellent and I never knew until that day the place existed! Different but informative! Try it out you might be surprised! 😍😉🤔

Many relics from the industrial revolution era. A fascinating collection of frontier architecture, tools, and culture. You can spend a couple hours roaming the gardens, which are beautiful and have many paths, and rustic buildings. It’s a bit pricy though for a university affiliated exhibit.

This was a gem in the middle of the city. Beautiful gardens, a park for kids, trails, and the museum. The grandkids enjoyed it!! So did we!

Bought a tix for both the Rural Life Museum and the Gardens. I was the first there and it was very calm and peaceful. Circa 1850, the house and various buildings, including slave quarters, were very interesting. The Gardens were beautiful even with a storm coming that cut the visit short.

I thought it was a beautiful clean casino, no smoking inside. They provide a smoking section with machines in a semi outdoor but heated area... But it was over crowded... I did win 300$ which made me happy. The casino had a large floor with lots of table games and even more slots. They had lots going on that weekend a band and all kinds of people there... No complaints here...

Couples Night! Reservations for 8:15... we sat promptly! Evan was our server who greeted us promptly and professionally. Evan was particularly knowledgeable of the menu as well as wine selection. The atmosphere set us up for easy conversation and laughter. The night was enjoyable the experience was memorable.

I was extremely impressed with this hotel. The rooms were super clean, the staff was amazing. The girl who brought my food I ordered was new, and was very nice. She went above and beyond. The front desk staff was really nice. I felt welcomed and they made me feel more than invited to come back. The food was also excellent. Very quiet at night. The beds were comfortable. I truly enjoyed the whole experience. I'll be back for sure❤️❤️

This is a beautiful location in a perfect spot. The area is clean. The inside is clean on and off the floor. They offer a variety of slots considering it’s a smaller casino floor. They have tables as well. I love that they are able to open and allow outside air flow in. The rooms seem to be a little outdated. I wish they were more modern. However, I’ll take a clean room over that any day! The Hotel staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Very accommodating! Most of security was friendly (except for a few).

This was the turn around point for me. Made it to the Casino and needed some water. Instead of being treated rudely the Valet attendant was very helpful in telling me that I could get some water from the VIP lounge. 😁😁 When I went in the young lady at the check in desk was so awesome to point me in the right direction and didn’t say anything to me about bringing my bike into the hotel lobby area. I really appreciate the kindness of these individuals. The attendant saw me before I rolled away and asked if I had found the water. This is hospitality at its finest. I wasn’t a guest yet was treated better than a guest. I look forward to visiting again soon.

If you enjoy 5 cent or penny slots, then they have plenty of those. Love the fact the restaurant is next door. Food and Service was fast and delicious. The rooms and showers were very spacious. I dropped it 1 star because the room and bed sheets smelled like smoke. Along with limited 25-cent slots. Overall, family and I had a good time. It was a great roller-coaster of wins and lost.

Great place to come and relax. Service is fantastic and great feel. Only down is that they do not have mini fridge. They have several places to eat and drink. I come here often and enjoy myself every time!

With this being the first and only casino I’ve been to, the experience was fun and exciting!! The machines are easy to understand and the atmosphere is almost relaxing!! Update: I also love the back porch 🩷

Hotel is nice, room is clean. Staff was friendly, pool was amazing. Was really hard to get a drink at casino, other then that over all 4 star. Only lost a star because hard to find a drink while having fun.

Went during the holidays (27th) and it was perfect! No crowds, clean rooms, and my favorite feature was the necessity for a key certain floors- it prevents unwanted characters and gives peace of mind from theft. Also the sports restaurant inside had super inviting staff and delicious food. I ate the Spivey honey chicken burger and it was delicious. Overall it’s a very relaxing stay

Great place to gamble, spend some money and eat. Very clean abs and everyone is nice. Cheri was great to talk to and very helpful. We'll be back.

This place is usually great. However, this time we had friends from Germany with us. One was picked out of the blue, the second time going into the gambling area, to be carded. Turns out, although 29 years old, a German ID is good enough to be served alcohol at the restaurant and in the casino, but not good enough to reenter. FYI, if you bring people from out of the country, they need their passport with them at L'Auberge.

I enjoyed a night out with my wife, my son and daughter in-law. All you can eat steamed King Crabs. My son and I ordered from the menu. We had the ribs, brisket and pulled pork. All were tender and very tasty. The macaroni and cheese (gouda) was delicious, and the baked beans also. Try the crabs, or order from the menu, you won't be disappointed.

We spent a long weekend there! It was great. The food options were FANTASTIC! I highly recommend Johnny Sanchez for breakfast and Drago's for dinner. The casino was nice, lots of slots and table games. The staff every where we went was AMAZING!!! They were all so nice ans hard working. The room was nice although it did show it's age a little but it was still nice. I'd definitely go back.

I enjoy attending conferences at L'Auberge, and this visit did not disappoint. I attended a conference called Curate. It was fantastic, and the food choices were better than any conference food I've ever had. The quality of the conference and the food was superb.

I dare you and pay( for 3 days) $700 for this room at this “ luxury hotel” thank God I got my money back after I told the hotel manager if he would bring his family to this room. I will let the pictures say it all.

The newer casino in town and it is large and beautiful! We went for a concert and the venue is small and intimate, not a bad seat in the house. They have everything imaginable for gambling. Played craps and baccarat. Only bad thing was $25 minimums (in my opinion). I’m not sure if it was like that just for the night or if it’s always that high. Would go again!

Had dinner at Red Lotus. Food was good but not great. Very good service.

Of course I have to run this one back! My husband participated in the black jack tournament & although he didn’t win, our Host made us feel like royalty as usual. We enjoyed a very pleasant dinner with Macon. He is always attentive & makes a great effort to go above & beyond! Thank you, Macon, for making this stay just as enjoyable as the last.

I love that it doesn't smell like cigarette smoke! Room was good, beautiful shower. Like that checkout is at 11am. Can't wait til the pool is open. Breakfast at the Sports restaurant was great and priced right.

Casino was nice, rooms were okay too. View was spectacular from our room. only complain is they don’t provide lotion,shower cap, shower gel or soap, it was just shampoo conditioner. Room were expensive yet missing most common things.

I had a great time but it was shut down because of weather but it wasn't their fault but I still had a great time and we got free passes for our inconvenience for our next vist

Horrible! Arrived to the park with my family to buy tickets, attendant was not friendly and stressed out stating that they were severely short staffed today and only 2 slides and the wave pool was open. Also stated that as staff come to work, more attractions would open. Charged $25 per person due to only 5 attractions available. The park appearance is old and run down and definitely in need of renovations! Most of the park is shut down. After waiting 20 minutes in line to ride 1 of the two slides that was open the ground supervision shut the slides down without explanation. I mean it was terrible. Blue Bayou was a waste of time & money. I would like to have my money reimbursed due to extremely low level customer service and misleading advertising! I would not recommend this place to anyone. #disappointed

Before they open for 2023, I’d like to warn those that are excited .DO NOT get a season pass right out the gate . In 2021, post COVID, we attempted to get season passes as we were excited to get back to Blue Bayou . It was so understaffed (rumor is that the owners have always been cheap, therefore there is no staff) most of the entire park was shut down all year and a select few rides were up Every. Single. Time. We went . Fast forward to 2022, we tried them again; and again most of the park was not functioning . Call before you make the drive to see what is up and running . We paid for season passes for the whole family and blue bayou is just not what it used to be, definitely not worth the money . We were very disappointed . I hope they make some changes soon, or idk how they will stay in business . I enjoyed Blue Bayou as a child so much! I wanted the same for my children.. They have to do better than what they’ve been doing .

Welp, half of the original park is shutdown (Dixie Landing). So you can forget about roller coasters. Blue Bayou is ok. Needs a serious face-lift, though. Looks old. All the colors of the plastics are faded. The double-headed snake slide has a few rough spots, scuffing up your back on the way out. The food is not good here and very expensive. But, the slides with rafts are very fun. Fits 4 people. Wave pool is nice. Weak waves. More like swells. Ground feels like its on 🔥. Wear flip flops or crocs. No food or beverages are allowed through the entry gate. You have to buy their stuff. $10 locker fee. Smoking deck area for smokers. All in all, it's totally worth coming!

I haven’t been here since 2013 but I remembered that this place kept a 50 y/o chimp in a really small enclosure, without proper bedding and space for years until it died recently. I also knew a few people who worked here and they were very underpaid …. The owner really just needs to retire

This is the same deplorable place that kept a lone chimpanzee named Candy in a corn-cob pen for decades. Despite the pleas of countless people to the owner to move this despondent, keenly intelligent, self-aware chimpanzee to a lush sanctuary, the owner refused. Candy died without the comfort of other chimpanzees. My family wouldn't step foot in this place.

Don’t go here .. half the rides were closed all summer (‘22) yet the prices are the same. The ones that are open you can hardly use because no one is working that ride at the time, so you’re just standing there. They don’t tell you anything until after you pay. Pretty sure they plan to shut down for good, very soon, but figure they may as well take what money they can get, no matter how the customers are treated. Doesn’t matter if we don’t return or weren’t satisfied because they will be closed and they’ve already taken our money 🤷🏻‍♀️

Absolutely horrible customer service. Every manager I spoke to was disgustingly rude and they completely ignored the situation. We came early in the day but there was rain and we were told to come back. When we did, we paid the 200 for the four of us and went inside. We were at the park for 10 minutes before they shut down again and we were refused any sort of refund. They literally stole 200 dollars from us on my girlfriends BIRTHDAY. They offered us four tickets to come back but they were only valid for THEEE HOURS. We live an hour away so it would be completely useless. Not to mention the money they stole was worth an entire day not only three hours! Absolutely disgusting business.

$50 Tickets when only 7 slides are open and no dixie landin is a complete joke; don’t even waste your time. you’d think if they didn’t have staff to cover the entire park they’d at least have a discount on ticket prices. this park used to be so good i don’t know how they went downhill so fast

Most of the attractions were close so we got a small discount. The kids part was fun. It sucks you can only go around the lazy river once unless you purchase a floater. Which they were out.

Great water park, lots to do, fun for all ages. I went opening day this year, credit card machine was down but they got us through! Only recommendation is that they put some cover over the eye bolts sticking out of the ground in the first sled slide area. Food lines could use some assistance.

We Love our weekly trip to Blue Bayou!!! They are very accommodating and allow us to bring in fruit and veggies for us to have healthy snacks too! They have plenty of places to have lunch at and they staff are very friendly. I do wish that they had more bathrooms at the front of the park but that’s ok. My kid loves the rides and even said that he enjoys them almost as much as Disney rides;) the park is Very clean. The water is clean.

Pretty big water park. The lazy river is a little too shallow. You can only go around once with the park provided tubes. And you have to ride in/on the tube. No free swimmers. The wave pool was being worked on and closed. It had some nasty brown stuff all in the shallow end and some workers were trying to suck some stuff out of the deep end. That’s kind of a disappointment. We came down from Jackson, MS with a Girl Scout troop. No way to get your group inside until all are there. Seems like you could have some sort of will call to help speed this part along. We read the lemonade was good so we got some. And yes it’s good. Cost 4 tickets (4 dollars). But seems reasonable for park food.

We were there yesterday until 5:30P all the way from NOLA (Westwego, LA). 2 of us out of 4 enjoyed the water park rides, the food was good, and we also enjoyed the wave pool. But my main recommendations are having all your concession stands or food restaurants should consider giving receipts of the items purchased via customers email. This way we can save the energy, the trees for the habitats and for our oxygen, the atmosphere, and pollution. And all the rides stairs are getting cracked (need to repaired), need fresh paint job on the stairs, railings, and the water rides itself. Also the race ride with the black number sign (see picture below)- the red color circle is in the picture is what I'm talking about (that circled sign needs to be repaired and make it work). The tickets for the food (sno-cones, and etc.), it needs to stopped! That's a lot of paper being wasted and all. Something that will not waste paper should be taken place to buy snow cones and what not.

They are improving and should have more content in future but right now many of the animals aren't there. The worse part is the signage, can't tell what any animal is because they don't have any signs or the sign is still in the old cage they used to be in. For the price it's fun to visit and you can be through entire zoo in 1.5 hrs

We enjoyed this zoo and took our time. Lots of construction going on but still lots to see. Bathrooms were clean and well stocked. One of the employees told us that the front entrance will be done by summer and one more of the animals exhibit will be open by late spring or summer. It was clean and if you have kids, there is a playground and petting zoo, we enjoyed petting some animals. We loved this zoo. Only 4 stars because of the construction. But an excellent zoo. The gift shop is reasonably priced and well stocked with lots of choices. We will be back. We bought a 16 ounce drink for 4 dollars. Some of the other items were reasonably priced. We recently went to another zoo in another state and paid $8 dollars a drink! Wonderful Zoo. We went on a Wednesday at 2pm and only paid $1.50, it’s a special price between 2-4 on Wednesday.

This is a beautiful Zoo in a great town. Even though they are under construction you can tell that when they're finished this is going to be a really phenomenal place. I know that it might take what seems like a long time for some for it to come to fruition but in my opinion zoos are always upgrading, building, changing and modernizing. That's a good thing. They're making it a better place for the animals in the long term. I enjoyed it here and I'm really looking forward to what they do with it in the future.

At our recent trip to the Zoo-lights we had a blast. The zoo was quiet and easy to navigate at night. There are many new and exciting things coming to the zoo that I look forward to bringing my child to in the near future. While under work the zoo still was a pleasurable experience, there were signs up and project boards explaining the ongoing work. The zoo is also a sensory safe place, staff was quite friendly and engaging.

Construction didn't damper my fun. Doesn't hurt that as an apology for it, guests are given free passes that don't expire till December at the gate. This zoo is big & cheap! We visited around 10:30am to 12pm, bought tickets, food, and souvenirs altogether for under $40 for 2 people. Weather was good, the animals where out and active.

The zoo is under a lot of construction at this time, but I know when it's all completed, it will be amazing to visit. A lot of the exhibits were closed due to the construction, so it seemed like a waste of time to visit, but my son had a good time despite it all. The new pygmy hippo exhibit added some nice shade to a long walk and was nicely done. The price is very affordable compared to other zoos in the southeast. The cafés don't have a lot of variety when it comes to food, so I suggest going to get something elsewhere or packing some healthy snacks and sandwiches.

It was so nice! I went bt myself on a Wednesday right as they opened. Absolutely love it! It was so neat seeing all the animals especially the pygmy hippos and the otters ♥️ not too many ppl here just a group here and there with lil ones. Nice peaceful relaxing day 😌

There was a lot of construction going on so part of the zoo was closed. They gave us free tickets for a later date because of all the construction. Even with the construction this was a decent zoo. Quite a few animals. Decent enclosures. The staff and volunteers we interacted with were friendly. Great place to get steps in. I LOVED that they had sunscreen stations. All zoos should implement this.

Great price for a good size zoo. This zoo offered much more than I anticipated especially with its price point of $8 for an Adult. The frozen slushie I ordered was perfect for the extremely hot day as well especially while walking through the zoo. There was a lot of construction going on so it looks like the zoo will be even greater than what it currently is in the future. Definitely a great spot for any kid of any age.

I want to preface that this review is based on a visit on April 30th, 2023 while the zoo is in the middle of construction. I've been a zoo member for years and have not been in several months due to the construction. On this trip we made it through what was available and back to our car in under half an hour. I've heard from other guests that they are giving out tickets for a return later in the year, but realistically it just seems like they would be better off closing the zoo for 6 months to allow crews to work more efficiently with a couple of fund raisers here and there to show off progress. I overheard a family frustrated about the fact that they had driven over an hour to visit the zoo that day and had planned their weekend around it. I hope to have a better review after construction is over, but until then I can't really recommend a visit.

Great place to get up close to incredible animals!!! Some construction but you can still find plenty to do and see! Loved it!

A nice activity to do. The zoo is not as busy or packed. A little smaller but contains a good variety and the main animals you usually go to see. When I visited their was construction, so I did not get the full experience. The pricing was cheap. I would recommend to go check it out and give it a try. I will look forward to going again after everything is finished.

Lots of construction still going on. Only a handful of exhibits open, the petting zoo and the aquarium are still open. Kids were not thrilled with all of the extra walking to get back around to certain areas but it’s to be expected with all the new things they are trying to build.

I love this zoo. It's so clean. The girl who checked everyone in was very nice. And super fast. I love how you can see all the animals without having to struggle.

Fun time at the Zoo. All the animals were active. Great place for kids. Good exercise walking.. Would have rated it 5 stars but some of the animal areas were closed for remodeling. The best part is they give you tickets to reuse before Dec, 31th A free trip later this year.

Cute zoo. Undergoing renovations, so no zoo train, and about half the exhibits are closed. Employees are friendly. Children were chasing the peacocks and no one was really stopping them.

Overall a great zoo. Prefer to come here over New Orleans. It's had a lot of construction going on and as a result a lot of closed exhibits but we have an annual pass for the kids and on the plus side, it always feels new when we come back every few months and a rebuilt exhibit is open. Good way to spend the middle of the day on a weekend and get the kids away from the screen.

Still parts under construction, but lots of animals to visit. Not crowded, easy to navigate either a wheelchair. Clean and friendly place.

So I didn’t go to school here or anything. Just went to a football game and walked around campus. I love a good university campus. This one has some very cool buildings and southern charm. Highly recommend a football game too!

I waited 3 weeks to get a phone call from an admission counselor on a master's program, and 5 minutes before I was supposed to get the phone call they canceled it by email with no explanation. When I called the main line and pushed the number for graduate admissions. They couldn't even transfer me to the correct department so I could actually put a complaint in. This school is horrible. I am literally in the mountain time zone and waited 3 weeks. I could have driven 5 seconds from my house and got all the answers I needed from another school that's right around the corner, but I wanted to go to LSU. I will never give a penny or a second of my time to LSU. Apparently they don't care whether they have students or not because they don't even have the time to call people for a 15 minute conversation. I literally had one question to ask and now they've lost a student forever! Go anywhere else and you will get better service and a degree that will give you the same job.

LSU is a beautiful place and this is where I finished my first masters in engineering. II had always feel like my heart is attached to LSU Tigers. I went back after nine years for a visit and was taken by how much the university has changed and her beautiful is the new Patrick Taylor hall, and the school of engineering long life Tigers!

Are you recovering from Louisiana education? I think we get better, but it gets worse. As an LSU GDI, I would say no matter where you go, there you are. The more things change, the more they seem the same. Where's the golden ticket?? The creamy nugget inside? You can change your appearance and your attitude, the rest is very hard to change. It was an opportunity that didn't quite pan out, but most of the problems in our lives are of our own making. I can live with it.

Gorgeous campus. Went to see Mike and he was such a handsome boy, posing and moving around for everyone to see. Definitely came at the right time!

If I could give zero stars, I would. 0/10, not accessible in the slightest. I visited the Shaver Theatre for a school field trip today and navigating the campus was a terrible experience I’d like to never have again. There were barely any ramps, and going up and down stairs with my walker was awful. I know LSU has a wonderful educational program, however, they need to improve their disability office as well as their accessibility for disabled students who used wheelchairs, walkers, or other mobility aids.

Of all the schools we're looking at, this has been one of the best so far! The campus is beautiful and lively. She was very happy with the destination LSU event today! I'm thinking that May 1st will be an interesting day for decision day! LSU is definitely on the top of the list! 💯

Big campus , good atmosphere they offer alot but with the amount of students I believe they may need more staff support to actuallybe able to give what they offer. Students can sort after the help but the time of respond is not good especially in academic help. Academic advisors , Councilors are not good.

Everyone should experience at least one football game in Tiger Stadium (Death Valley) in their lifetime. If it could be a Saturday night game, even more magical.

Firstly, I am not politician, especially not a Democrat. However, our President is our President. The schools disrespect toward the President and his wife is disheartening. I teach my children to honor and pray for the President because they have to carry a heavy load. I also teach them to forgive when people make mistakes. Accusing the Presidents wife of being racist simply because she showed her expression of like toward Iowa shows a sign of temper and bad judgment. Denying a trip to the Whitehouse sends a bad message of hate to the younger generation. Especially when she apologized, which I don't think she should have had to. But since she did, the trip should've been made. Think of the girls years down the road that'll think back how they missed that opportunity. It's an honor. This crazy world calls good evil and evil good. I'm sad the school didn't stand for the right thing. Pray for your President whether you voted for him or not and forgive!

This is a fantastic campus. My daughter is currently a sophomore here studying Chemistry. The residential apartments are beautiful, modern and up-to-date. Excellent safety is exhibited all around campus. She is my only child and I feel extremely blessed to have her apart of the Tiger family🐅🐅🐅🐅🐅

I had a terrific time at Tiger Stadium. Beautiful venue to watch an SEC football game. Always the gracious hosts, they allowed the Bulldogs to set the single game record for passing yards on the way to a 44-34 victory.

Super nice museum. Interactive, well organized, many videos, nice decor, on two floors. Really impressed by the quality of the exhibits but really disappointed with the absence of French, including in sections on Acadie, Cajuns and Creoles. There is even a survey about French context…which was weird because there is none. We are fully bilingual so not an issue but how can you pretend to be inclusive and respectful for the Acadian culture, and Cajuns and Creoles when everything is in English (also in light of the fact that French was banned from school). A few symbolic signs would have helped a lot. But it is a great museum and it was free on the day we visited.

Very nice museum located close to the capital building. Lots of displays on local and state history . It's very cool Marty graw displays as well. Worth stopping to learn some history of the area

Visited this local museum with my children. While there we took photos. One photos was used in The Advocate Newspaper to my surprise on the next Saturday. The scenery is spectacular. My daughter snapped multiple pictures to commemorate my 40th Solar Return.

What a great place to spend a hot Saturday afternoon. The museum is absolutely wonderful it depicts the scenes of Louisiana with such accuracy and in such detail absolutely beautiful displays unfortunately the crowds were far too small for such a gem in the heart of our city.

This museum was beautiful! The curator is great and knowledgeable. It’s a great place to take students as there is no fee for schools. I went for a professional development. If you’re not standing with a school, check the prices for tickets.

Beautiful warm sunny January spring day. Flowers blooming, live oaks, dead pines. Peaceful but a constant hum from the highway.

How did I not know about this state run museum before? I was looking at things to do in Baton Rouge and this came up. Other places nearby seemed more popular, like everyone goes to the more popular places. Reasonable admission prices. I came on the last day of the rotating display that was the DC Mardi Gras. Amazing. Just so much to look at! Come! Take a look around! You won't regret it.

This was a pretty cool museum! I love reading & seeing the History of my birth State! I would suggest to add this stop on your adventures!

This place is really a hidden gem. The exhibits are incredibly well done. Lots of color, facts, could easily spend four to five hours in here if you wanted to read and do everything. We spent about an hour and a half on the first floor and an hour on the second floor. We basically grazed the second floor because we were starving, but that just means I get to go again! The mythology exhibit was fantastic, as well. That also took a while to go through.

A great place to host functions from public forums to wedding receptions, with the state's capitol building in close view and access. Marvelous!

What a great museum! Well organized, gives you a concise history, regional highlights, lots of info on the various cultures that make up Louisiana. The second floor is full of music and cultural exhibits.

One of the best cheese burgers and fried shrimp I’ve ever had in my life. The burger was so delicious, you could tell that the meat was fresh and it was juicy. Shrimps were well seasoned and cooked crispy. I’ll visit there again next time I’m in Baton Rouge.

Visited this place for first time located on one of the busiest Streets in downtown Baton Rouge. I ordered the Burger and fry combo, because I'm always looking for a good burger joint; guess I'm just down-home American. This place appeared to only have two employees: a cook and cashier. The meal was nothing special, pretty much something I could done better myself at home. The fries were seasoned well. I wanted to add a salad but lettuce was not Romaine; in addition to lacking variety in toppings. Although I requested Dine-In, the meal was provided in a to-go styrofoam tray which appear to be standard. I guess this place is good for those on the go and have few options. After inquiring, I was notified that the menu provided to me was not accurate pricing so I personally made changes on sheet provided to me. This place appear to try making a quick buck for charging a "pretty penny" for simple meals. On top of that, when the cashier attempted to assist with menu; the cook interrupted her and said help him in back when the restaurant had nothing but one order. I felt this was rude and disrespectful to a customer. Also, I overheard the cook insulting a customer about whether or not it was their first time dining at that place. I will not return to this place. Not worth my money nor do I support bigotry, poor customer service and/or ill-mannered employees-people.

I have given this place so many chances, but I’m learning it must not be somewhere I need to eat. It’s so convenient because I work downtown, but today was my last time sadly. When someone orders a meal that rings up to $21 for lunch, they want to at least be satisfied. I finally decided to try the oyster Poboy because I heard it’s good and maybe it is… just not mine today. First, the oysters were cold and tasted like the grease that may not have been changed. Then, there was more lettuce on my sandwich than oysters and that’s simply unfair for the price. Maybe others have better luck with this place🥴

I ate here with my son and daughter after touring the USS Kidd. He and I had catfish/shrimp platter and it was great. Huge catfish fillet. Fries good, too. I assume this is a local favorite because how else could it survive? It’s not dressed up to pull in tourists. Just simple little diner. We started walking toward the old Capitol to find a place to eat when we passed two ladies who were enjoying their meal. They recommended it. This is a great catfish place. Loved the platter it was hot crisp battered and boneless. They do have Eat in but I got it to go. They also have lovely tarter sauce

My first time eating here but it most definitely will not be my last. It’s a local spot with great fried food seafood. It’s a gem in the heart of downtown.

[Hidden Gem] In my opinion, this is the best restaurant downtown. This restaurant is reasonably priced and good authentic Louisiana cuisine. You can get a meal combo of fried catfish or shrimp salads, sandwiches, poboys or seafood platters for around 15$. Food is great and staff is friendly and food should check it out!

Awesome awesome awesome that is the only word to describe this a little hidden gem in the downtown area! The shrimp is fresh and the burger was spot on. You can definitely tell this is a mom and pop shop with all the right stuff.

Bad customer service. I placed an order for pickup during lunch time and they said they didn’t receive my order cause their device was on airplane mode. I then asked them if they could make the order while i was there and they kept saying that i would have to redo my WHOLE order. Mind you i had already paid with my card online so the order was paid for. I then showed them I already paid for it I just needed them to fix the order. They refused to fix it and said that I couldn’t get.a refund without contacting the company i placed the order through . I didn’t need a refund i just wanted my food. The lady at the register and the man at the back continued to argue with me that they was not going to make it even though I showed them that the order was placed and ready to pick up. I will not ever be returning there food is overpriced anyway and i wasn’t the only one there who had an issue with the service. They need to do better!

Me and my family came in for a uick lunch. The cashier was very polite, the service was quick and so we tipped well . The food however was extremely unappealing. The burgers were dry and had a strange flavor. The fried fish was extremely thin and pretty hard. The fried shrimp was also overcooked and hard. I don't typically leave reviews but,I felt this had to be shared.

I literally want to go back for more while writing this review! I was skeptical at first because it was a ghost town inside but I gave it a go anyway! As soon as me and my mom walked up to the counter, the cashier handed us a plate of shrimp to taste and I knew at that moment, this was a good decision. I had a huge shrimp po boy with fries and a salad. It was soo good and they even gave me an extra box of shrimp! I highly recommend!

The staff in this restaurant is ongoing and that's one thing that I can appreciate. As you never have to worry about the meal tasting differently because two different cooks are preparing. The meals are always fresh hot and deliver with a smile.

i love their butter sm!!!! they let my grandma, brother and i have a sample of the shrimp and it was absolutely amazing(≧∀≦) their fries are very crispy and if a restaurant’s fries are crispy, nine times of ten the food will be amazing too!!! i recommended this place to my friends and told them we’re coming here the next time we go out to eat✌︎('ω')✌︎ the service was great and the people are very nice<33 i highly highly recommend coming downtown to visit and have their amazing food( ^ω^ )

Updated review: Mr. Henry makes the BEST burgers in Baton Rouge! The thickest, cheesiest, meatiest, juiciest most flavorful burger there is. You will not get a better burger or a better value at any other restaurant in town. His burgers easily feed two or one very big eater. He knows all this regulars and is able to catch up while he makes their favorites. Not enough people know about this hidden gem, but the reviews scream it all... Best burger, PERIOD. Both he and his staff are super friendly. He also serves tender, delicious fried fish and succulent fried shrimp. They do close at 3pm week days when the downtown lunch rush dies off, so please swing by your next weekend down the levee and you won't be disappointed! They do stay open late for New Year's eve and Mardi Grad and for most downtown festivals. In the picture that's only about a third of the fries I got, I forgot to take the picture sooner.

The fried oyster is so good. The staffs are also so nice and friendly. She gave us free samples to try (which helped a lot in decision making). Really worth visiting to fill your hungry tummy! 😋

Four of us had lunch here today, looking for a good quick lunch. We were not disappointed! We were greeted by the owner(?) with a sample plate of fried shrimp before we ever even ordered. One taste of these succulent shrimp made my decision. We had two shrimp boxes and two mixed fish/shrimp boxes. Shrimp were fried perfectly and were delicious. Fried fish was crispy outside, flaky inside, cooked to perfection. Fries were awesome, too. The owners/cooks were very friendly and one of the guys went to the back and located some cocktail sauce for us. This place is great! Food and service are both great. Highly recommend! Would definitely eat here again. Wanna try the burger next time. Thanx for the great meal guys! Afterthought....we parked in a paid lot about a block away for $7 or $8 for 2 hours. It was worth it. Street parking nearby is iffy.

We went on a school field trip today to this place. I enjoyed every aspect of it and the tour guides Meiko and the lady were very awesome. They explained everything thoroughly and it was great. The live presentations were awesome. Plan to revisit soon.

Beautiful nature center. They had an outstanding art exhibit when we were there. Kids crafts were available for nominal fee and my grandson had fun crafting. We hiked one of trails which featured a boardwalk over the wetlands, they are restoring native irises to the wetland and the green leaves were visible. We will definitely be back!

Nice way to see the swamp life up close. No tour guide. Lack of info, lots of small animals to look at. Cool gift shop for souvenirs and the art show was nice to see local art on display. Bonus!

Such a wonderful little spot in the middle of the city. The trails are great for kids or older folks. Their visitor center is awesome, too, where you can see lots of local animals! I highly recommend.

Nice area with a large amount of wildlife. This is an easy place to take the kids and is very inexpensive. There are a few boardwalks and trails that you can take, and along them, there are signs that provide some learning opportunities for children. Inside the discovery center they have a number of small aquariums and terrariums with different reptiles along with a few things that the children can pick up and look at.

Nice hiking area. Several trails. Also nice building with restrooms and a reptile exhibit. Small fee to enter. Great turtle pond just outside as well

Enjoyed the day with my oldest daughter, and my youngest who was visiting from Ohio. This was a really good scenic nature walk that was enjoyed by us all. Would definitely return!

Very nice place. Lots of boardwalks and little informational signs along the way. Maybe about a mile of path so it can be a quick walk or you can take your time and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Lots of bird variety and great for kids! The trails are around 1/2 a mile long and are well maintained with minimal slopes. The nature center staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, and I had a great nature walk!

Great way to spend a summer morning with the kids. Super affordable.. around $5 total for me and my two kids. 2 nice raised trails to walk and a great little air conditioned reptile center. The employees are more than willing to interact with the kids and reptiles when time permits. Shaded places for picnics outside next to parking area.

Admission is cheap, the reptile viewing is phenomenal. Nice trails. A cool place for a first time date.

I visited here a few years ago while on vacation in Louisiana. It was so enjoyable walking around and exploring the swampland. I really had a good time and hope to make it back one day.

Family fun, great place for nature lovers and adventure lovers. Although you won't see any alligators in this swamp😦 it still is a tone of fun and very informative. And it's inexpensive!!!

This is a neat little slice of nature in the city. The boardwalk has some great swampy sights, lots of wildlife, cool trees, etc. I wish we had more time to investigate the nature center. The staff was friendly though. And let us explore a bit even though they were closing.

We enjoyed our visit, lots of beautiful art and cool animals. The nature walk was really nice around through the mini swam.

This was the coolest thing ever!! We had so much fun! We got to see so many thing that we never see… because we live in a different state. We say turtle and snakes! We even got to pet one! But there really was no swamp but we still saw dragons flys and butterflies and spiders that we got to saw!

The place has a great atmosphere. It's a pity that you can't enter the house without a guide. We declined it because our English proficiency is weak. The entrance fee is symbolic, but there aren't many exhibits. The main highlight is the owners' house, which has restricted access

I completed a self tour and walk about the premises. It was very interesting to see how plantations looked. It’s a part of history that I’m glad to have finally taken a park into. It was a very positive experience for me. 😌 the property was manicured and well maintained. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. Their gift shop had some very nice and unique items! I recommend everyone visit this place.

My boyfriend and I had a fantastic experience! The tour guide was amazing and gave us so much detail while still making it enjoyable and fun! It was not busy so we got a personal one on one with our tour guide! The gift shop was also great! I’ve been going to college here for 5 years and never even knew this place excited! It’s definitely worth checking out by yourself or with friends and family! ** Please note that there is a difference between self guided and tour guided!! You can’t enter the home without a tour guide! We chose to go with a tour guide. **

The docent, Will, was knowledgeable and made the tour interesting. We were explained to why there are no interior photos allowed, but silly. Would help business.

Nice display of a few left ruins of that era, but I do wish they had more history on the actual slaves and not so much focus on the house itself but a nice priced bargain nonetheless.

We visited Magnolia Mound Plantation on a weekend in June, 2023. We decided to take a guided took, because we feel you get so much more out of it. Although we had to wait a bit since they only do the tours on the hour. So we walked around a bit before an took some pictures. Then we gathered with others to take the tour or the house and kitchen. It lasted an hour and was informative. We were able to get an insight into life back then. The tour told us and showed us things we would have missed if we went it alone. We could ask questions and such. I felt it was a good time spent. I would recommend visiting, but definitely take the guided tour. The visitors center has a nice gift shop with actual decent items. The have rest rooms and a model display of the plantation back in the day. The price ran between $9-12 per adult. So it wasn't overly expensive either. And they give you a nice little fan with the map of the plantation on it. So you can stay cool and have a map all in one item. Then take it with you for use later. Such a deal:)

I did the self guided tour for the kids & I. It was five dollars per person, you got a map that had markers that showed where everything on the grounds were located. The lady in the gift shop was very welcoming & also gave me some suggestions on other things to do since I told her I wasn't from around here. It's always interesting to me to see our history & to drop a little unknown knowledge on the kids. If you're in the area stop by no reservations needed. Guided tours are every 45 minutes, I believe that's what was stated.

This was a very beautiful place, loved the educational experience with my daughter. She enjoyed herself as well.

Advertised business opening hour is 10am. We arrived at 10:05 and no staff present. A staff member in the gift shop finally arrived at 10:20. She was not welcoming nor friendly. Very standoffish behavior and seemed genuinely aggravated we were there as we walked in. Not worth waiting and spending money on the next tour at 11am with such a negative first impression. Such a shame because we were very interested in learning of the mourning customs.

The diorama in back of the Gift Shop showing what the property once looked like was pretty cool. They have a cat (named Creole) who lives in the gift shop; she's very friendly and likes being petted. Nice array of gift shop items too. I took the self-guided tour for $3, I feel like it was easily worth it. I was a bit disappointed that they turned one of the houses on the property into an administrative building. Then the slave quarters were closed (I opened them and took a peek anyway), and I could only look through the windows at the Overseer's House and the Main House--the glare made it impossible to see anything, I really should have paid more and took the tour. It was nice to look through the Kitchen and Vegetable garden though; it's a real, functioning garden too! Don't do what I did; take the tour so you can enjoy the full experience!

Greatest place to watch college baseball I have never seen the box packed like it was tonight LSU playing Tennessee and we still got to watch the girls basketball play in the final four. We will be going back in a couple of weeks to watch LSU and Kentucky can't wait!

This was our family's first time at an LSU Baseball game and it was amazing! Traffic ran smoothly, plenty of free parking, and food prices were reasonable. I won these sweet tickets at work raffle. Never did I think we would be behind Home Plate and witness 3 Home Runs!!!

We had a great time at the museum today. Today was Dino day. We enjoyed all of the exhibits. We learned some new things and got a lot of goodies. This was an awesome event. We enjoyed our movie in the planetarium.

An amazing facility! Great for kids! I was allowed to host a book signing at the facility. Over 880 people visited on Free First Sundays. Books were given away; music was performed! Trust me this is great family fun on a Sunday!

Went with my son’s school for a field trip and the staff were amazing. All very helpful, organized and seemed to really enjoy seeing the kids there. We will be going back as a family soon to see the exhibits that we didn’t get to see. I enjoyed the morning with the kids and our class had fun!

What a fun spot for children, young teens, and adults. There was no wait to get in and there's something for everyone. I attended an event for Dr. Rani Whitfield who DJ'd, along with Southern Univ. band members, SU Cheerleaders, the symphonic group, Rodney Harris and others performed. But while there I visited many of the exhibits and rooms. It was my first visit as I live out of town, but I highly recommend visiting this gem!

My fourth grader went on a school field trip here. Pretty fun they even did an experiment on electricity with lemons interesting

This is a wonderful museum and the planetarium was a great experience for the kids and adults. Great for small groups. Visit the gift shop where they sell beautiful souvenirs. Great view of the Mississippi!

I have been a patron of LASM for more than 15 years. My kids have outgrown the museum, but I have plenty of family members with little ones, so I still patronize the museum. I love the art, exhibits, discovery play room, and the planetarium. The first Sunday of the month is free for the entire family. It is one of the best family-friendly activities in town for those who like to learn and play.

I will say that this is the first time I’ve been disappointed visiting a museum. I mean $15 to see what? No wonder the place was a ghost town. We were barely there for 30 minutes. The exhibits were bare and even the best exhibit, the Egyptian exhibit, was underwhelming. The place stated that you’re not allowed to take photos or videos of the mummy there but sorry, we’re getting the most out of that $15 we spent there! This museum should either be free or $5 at maximum. I’ve paid $10 for way larger museums but this isn’t it. As a Louisiana native, this was unacceptable. I felt bad that my mom didn’t have a good time. Your money will be well spent at one of the neighboring museums such as the USS Kidd. That would be my suggestion, go elsewhere and save your money 💯

Was looking to kill a little time and hoping to learn more about the city and it's historical past. The museum is a converted train station right on the river. I asked the staff at the check in desk for their recommendation on the best way to see the museum and any must sees and they basically just shrugged their shoulders and could not have been less interested in my questions. They handed me a map which did not detail what any of the exhibits were aside from the Egypt one, but was literally just a map of the building; not much help at all. I wandered around and enjoyed the exhibits but there didn't really seem to be any rhyme or reason for what was in each room; there was no cohesion. The planetarium offered a show each hour and while I didn't have an opportunity to take a show in, the attendant at the entrance of the planetarium was very informative and enthusiastic! Next time I will definitely partake. Overall, not a bad value for $15, especially if you're looking to kill a little bit of time (like I was 😉).

We had a great time here with the whole family. My little one LOVED the Sesame Street planetarium show and everyone loved the children’s section. We are looking forward to visiting again when the renovations are done. And I hope the museum will figure out a way to make ticket prices accessible to all!

Let me start by saying I have fond memories of this museum as a child. I returned 20 years later with my kids and I found that a lot of the exhibits had not been updated. That's not to say that they weren't fun, but I do think that this place could use a major renovation. In that same vein, there were several areas that were closed, some of which were undergoing extensive renovation. I look forward to seeing what ends up happening because this place has immense potential given its location and roots. One other concern I had was the planetarium. The theater is awesome but I do think that the images are kind of blurry and not calibrated for the actual dome for some of the shows. Also, the shows were sort of boring and lackluster. Again, it has the potential to be awesome but needs to be tweaked with a bit better selection of shows. Overall, I would definitely recommend this at least for young kids, especially after the renovations are done.

Excellent rooms for children, but the exhibition is too small. I think the price is too expensive for this museum.
