Still the hotest coolest time in Texas. Haven't been to the original in probably 10 years. So long that my son barely remembers and asked if we could visit. A lot has changed - digital codes to access the lockers instead of a key on a wristband, Google and Apple Pay instead of a wristband of plastic "splash cash" to buy food and drinks. Yet, much remains the same - free parking, the ability to bring in your own cooler of food and drinks, and more water rides and play areas than you can shake a stick at. I've read recent reviews complaining about rides and unfriendly staff this summer and lamenting the new ownership. This was not our experience. There were a few things that weren't operating, which was annoying in cases. However, our experience with the staff was as friendly as it has always been. It's still a great place to spend cooling off during the hot Summer days.

Schlitterbahn is a "must" for hot Texas summer. There are plenty of things to do and you need at least one day for each park to see and try most of the rides.

First time here. Lines were kinda long for rides but moved steady. Drinks were good and cold. The lazy river with the tubes was awesome and only 3 ft deep however the waves are forceful to propel us forward but can take a small child fast from his family so be careful with small children. I'm planning another trip already because I want to definitely go back.

Beautiful place along the Comal River. Rides for all ages and pools to hang out in if you don’t like lines. It was clean and had plenty of tables. Although many of kids employed around the park seemed clueless, there were lifeguards everywhere and they appeared to be well trained and friendly.

So much fun for all ages. I’m pregnant so couldn’t ride too many rides but we still had fun. The Kristal River was awesome. Kids loved the Falls and the kiddie area in the original park.

We started this trip with an excited experience but turned out with little disappointment. Trust me its not to ruin your holiday mood but to consider these points to make your trip planning better. And these points mainly applicable if you visiting on a weekend/holiday where heavy crowd is expected. Visited on a weekend morning. Arrived around 10am but it was around crowded that time with all parking slots filled up. Now we had to book in premium parking Secondly no shade for entrance crowd for security clearance, lot of people with kids are standing under hot sun. Wish management does something for crowd management or atleast an shade. Secondly every ride gets super busy/crowded and wait time gets multi folded. As well interacted with multiple people, at max you can do 3/4 rides in a park out of 2 parks Its better you get 2 day pass if plan to visit both the parks. Better suggested to visit on weekday or non crowded days for better enjoyment, a personal suggestion

Loved this place. After hearing about the best barbecue being in Texas....I tried a few places that were no better than new York. This place was amazing though..... delicious mesquite flavored food.....great sides...super friendly staff. I loved your food and would recommend it to anyone.

It was a lot of fun. However the blast pass needs huge improvements. The wait times are not consistent with actual wait times. It showed 150min wait on the watch, while there was only 45min wait. But other than that, it was a lot of fun.

Nice facility. Great rides. Entry fees are a bit outrageous 2 adults. 1x16 yo, 1x15 yo, 1x13 yo, 1x11 yo. $575. Never again! And. Do NOT get your food or refreshments at the Lagoon Grill. Extensive, unwarranted wait. Otherwise. Super Nice water park.

Note: we are Season ticket holders. This water park is a great experience for me and my family. We have children ages: 18, 16, 13, 6 & 2. There are a lot of shaded areas, lockers, picnic tables, tubes, soda/icee locations, restaurants, etc. As a season ticket holder you can bring in a cooler (27” x 16”) which is great. You can bring in your own personal bottle and you can fill it up with water. I’ve found the staff to be friendly despite being in the hot Texas sun all day. If you want close free parking come early. I look forward to going back!

I went on a Saturday with my family. Very beautiful, clean and family friendly water park. Water tube rides aka lazy rivers had different themed courses and thrill levels. Water slides were enjoyable. There were long lines but they were fast moving. Every ride we went were worth the wait and money. We were able enjoy it more than once. Definitely recommend. ❤️

Seems very disorganized. Got there right as they opened but in order to get the blast pass that was paid for online, you have to go to the main entrance and wait in line to receive the wrist bands (for us it took almost 30 minutes of waiting) which seems so counterproductive. The blast pass is like a reservation and you can only make one reservation for a ride at a time. I get that it’s probably meant to not abuse the privilege but we were only able to utilize it on 4 rides the entire day. There needs to be so much more signage around the parks in general, it’s so easy to not know what you’re doing or where you’re going unless you are a seasoned member. Also, asking for directions or how to get somewhere you could get 4 different answers from 4 different employees. Just disorganized. Also, we brought several beach towels, there’s really no need if it’s hot outside. We dried off before we even made it to the shuttle because it was so hot. Also, water shoes/socks are a must! If you have older kids make sure you’re starting at the right park, we started at the wrong park which seemed to be geared more toward younger kids.

Thank you Schlitterbahn for the best summer! Buying a season pass was well worth it. I was there all summer having a blast. The negative is a blast pass is a must if you wanna have fun. The lines are too long!

Great time for the family. Love the free parking and bring your own food and drinks option available. Highly recommend to wear water shoes . Plenty natural shades in picnic areas.They force you to get off at the end, which is reasonable. Line for this was about 30 minutes. Line to get into the wave pool area was longer (can't just walk into the wave pool area anymore). No line to get into the lazy river in the kids area.

By far our favorite visit this summer!! A little disappointed with the lack of organization trying to buy the meal passes for the day. It took an hour and repeated visits to get our correct meals. It was 107 degrees the day we would hear a lot of people had the same issue with being able to refill their drink cups. It is so important to stay hydrated with this heat. There should be more stations available to accommodate. Two people passed out from dehydration. That being said, we had a blast. We loved both parks and all of the fun rides. We took the tram to the original park and fell in love with the wave pool. It was a BLAST!!!! We hope to be able to go again!

We had so much fun! I grew up in San Antonio, but live near Dallas. It was so exciting to bring my kids back and to see all that has changed since I was last here in the late '90's. We stayed ALL day and could've spent a few more days. The Falls was, by far, everyone's favorite ride, but the classic, Raging River, was still amazing. We can't wait to come back!

Beautiful park... you gotta go see Founder's Oak. There are places to picnic, places to hike, a mini train to ride for children, paddle boats, and plenty of beautiful nature to see. If you are bored then maybe you're boring! No... come on... I didn't mean that to be mean! You just gotta look a little closer at the beauty! Keep the place clean and have fun!

Very family friendly park. There are activities for folks of all ages and age appropiate playgrounds. Great in the morning if you are looking for a low impact cardio.

This park pleasantly surprised. Initially hailing from a place of remarkable beauty and awe, I was astounded upon arriving at this park with my family. The weather was ideal, with an unblemished sky. The ducks were inviting and friendly. I highly recommend this park to anyone seeking to enjoy the outdoors without venturing too far. The water is shallow, and the variety of trees is magnificent. We will undoubtedly return.

This park is phenomenal. I went with youth from my church in North Texas, partnering with a local church, Epic Life New Braunfels. We did several hours of service work in the park. We really loved the music features in the park as well as the historical features. I was stunned at how many people were in the park in the afternoon. It was great to see so many people there enjoying the park.

Great park. Perfect for picnics, birthday parties, and chilling out with family and friends. Huge playground, wading pool, and nice hiking trail, Panther Canyon Trail, at the far side park adjacent to wading pool. We hope you enjoy the park as much as we did.

What a fabulous park! I highly recommend this place. The trees are gorgeous and big. The springs are interesting. You can swim or fish, picnic or hike.

Great park. Well maintained and clean. We stayed around the playground area for the most part and the equipment was really nice and clean. There are several separate areas of swings, small children (3-5 years old) play structures, larger children structures, etc. Most of them have the nice rubber floor that kids won’t hurt themselves on. The play structures are all in very shaded areas which makes playing there very pleasant. Great place to bring kids of all ages.

We went as a day trip during spring break. The kids had so much fun and all the activities were very inexpensive. Great spot to take the kids for putt putt golf, a train ride, paddle boating, and to play at the park. We even saw several deer roaming free on the golf course while we were driving around.

Wonderful park! I have visited it often. It does get quite busy on weekends, so I prefer to go during weekdays. Has a nice trail to walk too, although the last portion can be a little unclear if you don’t already know the correct path.

Landa Park has long been one of my favorite parks. This park is huge. You can see the river in several different spots, including where it springs up from underground. You can rent paddle boats and ride a small train. You can rent picnic tables. Or simply walk around or hike some of the trails. Its a beautiful place to exist in nature. You will probably see deer. Check out the tiny salt pepper historic mine as well. There are bathrooms thankfully.

It's a great place for a family picnic. The setting is fantastic, the tables were clean, the ablutions were good. The train ride was fun, and we even managed to catch a fish 😁

So beautiful. If I hadn't just got my MBB procedure, it would have been much more enjoyable. I plan on going back once I am in complete healing. There is so much to see.

One of the beautiful landmarks in Texas especially close to the birth place of Comal river. They have toy train,duck pond and short walking area along the river. Suggested time is to visit during evenings/weekends.HappyVisiting

This park is amazing, full of beautiful trees with one amazing old oak tree that if it could talk would definitely tell you the whole history of the area. They have picnic tables with grills all over the park, all under a canopy of tree shade. There is a train that you can hop on for a small fee that goes all around the whole park. They have paddle boats, bountiful walking trails, and hiking trails. The park is nature at its finest. The park is definitely one of the crown jewels of New Braunfels. It is maintained immaculately, clean everywhere you look at. The hiking trail is really fun about 2 miles round trip with lots of sub trails that you can venture off of the main trail. Very serene and peaceful is the only way to describe this park. It should be a must see for anyone visiting the New Braunfels area.

New Braunfels TX has no shortness of parks and water activities Landa parks has something for everyone even a miniature train that you can ride around the park. It has wonderful paved and unpaved trails. It has beautiful places to photo. Walking along the many parts that have water and the bridges that connect this well laid out park is wonderful. When the weather is warm I really suggest a picnic lunch near any of the many spots. Many spots have ducks floating around. It was not busy when we went there but understand it can get a little crowded during holidays. My GPS kept leading us in the wrong direction so watch for the clear marked signs on the posts or use the map on your phone or the old fashion paper map. We spent several hours walking the easy trails. New Braunfels has done a great job keeping this park up. Dog are permitted if on a lease. One thing to be aware of is the parking fees so check ahead as they do not all take money. When we went in December I called to find out they do not charge in the winter months but unless you want to electronic pay give the park a call. I hope you give this park a visit we certainly want to return. Hats off to all the workers that keep this park in top shelf condition

What an absolutely beautiful park. The river is crystal clear and beautiful and there are lots of paved trails to walk on, clean bathrooms with toilet paper. Haha and absolute gem of Central Texas!

Beautiful park and lots of things to do with family. My kids didn't want to leave since they were having so much fun in the playgrounds. Perfect for walking and enjoying the nice view, nature and weather. I loved it. We saw lots of deers in the area too, what a wonderful day!

Gorgeous and fun! So much to do with kids. We went for a walk, trem ride, many playgrounds, amazing views… This is a must go!!! Hubby, kids, dog and I had lots of fun.

Beautiful place with a lot of things to do. Nice gardens with wading pools, open spaces, a load of playgrounds and an inexpensive train ride for kids. Certain parking lots and roads are restricted for cars during the weekends and holidays, which makes sense for safety reasons since there are so many people near the play area. The trails are big too. Perfect place for a jog or a day out with friends & family.

Hi there - This post will serve as informational. Yesterday April 30, we went tubing. Had such as blast.... but for the first time my tube flipped over on the first chute. I am a decent/okay swimmer (never really had any emergency situation to rate otherwise) and didn't wear a life jacket There is a whirlpool current that sucked me down while my tube flipped over my head. It was really hard to get out and it became very real to me that I could have drowned. I tried to fight the current (or tried to stand rather) and that part of the river is soooo deep you can't land unless the current pushes you towards the steps. Very dangerous. Please wear a life jacket...(especially for the kids) I will be next time and I'm 38 years old. Last time I went I had no issues and i had my little yorkie with me. He could have easily drowned. I was completely unsuspecting because we didn't flip over. Take my story yall and tell everybody...please wear a life jacket!

It is wonderful. A Pharmacist I work with told me about the River in New Braunfels where him and his wife, also an R.N. would take their children on vacation and this was one of the site seeing places. Great for family tubing and such clear Spring Water. Right here in Texas with the most Spring Feed Rivers of all States in The United States. Known Fact. Spend the day on, the river plus area goes by a park so you can have family tow lunch too and have lunch in a picnic table and finish the lovely excursion of the river afterwards. Plus do not forget sun blocker for your children and yourselves. Rental tub places available & sold with return vehicles available to parking lots.. Many wonderful Rental Homes in the area as is Hotels.

Water was low but we still had fun. Call local places to check safe swimming levels.

My favorite river in Texas. Follow the rules of the river or risk a ticket... No Styrofoam, no glass, no cans or disposable water bottles. Gotta get a little creative to bring drinks along. Wear shoes too, you'll regret going barefoot or in flip flops unless you tie them to your tube

This place is amazing i love it, the water is cold cold but for this hot weather its perfect to have a river like this one, usually pack, really difficult to find a parking spot you have a lot of options to rent tubes, although be careful cuz the police is usually checking your ice chest to see if you have alcohol or beer bottles glass, so i recommend if you do want to bring alcohol put it in different containers cups!

This place would be amazing but if you go on the wrong day be prepared to be bumping elbows with a thousand other tubers. Park rangers are helpful and friendly. Make sure to bring LOTS of sunscreen. Parking is a nightmare so be prepared to wait FOREVER for a good spot or walk a mile or more.

Nice. Many chutes. First one is rather scary to me. I flipped and lost my glasses. Rest was calm.

The comal river is named the shortest longest river on Google of you look it up.. There are 3-4 chutes on the river.. You are able to BBQ off the river at local condos.. And you're able bring your drinks onto the river and enjoy the scenery of deer and ducks. There are also different tubing companies in surrounding areas to help you choose what options are best for you. I live in Houston so this is the closet peaceful getaway ever. I'll see y'all again Summer 2019❤️😘

Had so much fun even though it rained on us when we got there. But worth the trip especially if you go early with water shoes and your own tube. We had a blast definitely a memorable 1/2 week we have spent in NB. Still more for us to explore maybe next time….

The river is awesome especially on a hot day. I will say the pricing for tubing is a bit steep and they are strict about certain rules, but as long as you follow them, you’ll have a relaxing and fun experience.

Scuba here is awesome, as a free diver its cool to see all the fish underwater and play with crawdads in the grass, clear water 80% of the time, fun shoots to slide down, beware though anyone under the age of 10 or not great swimmer should wear a vest!!! Cant stress enough, people have drown here. Be causious, no plastic, glass, or cans.

You really can’t go wrong with a float down the 72 degrees year around water! Get on the river early to beat the crowds and heat during the summer. No glass, cans, or plastic bottles allowed on the river.

We loved this river tubing experience and will definitely be back! The river was pleasantly fun, and the scenery was so calming and serene. There are multiple river chutes that are like small water slides and are really exciting! The river was not too deep, and there is a public exit. There are signs to guide you there. If you park at the public parking, it will be 1/2 mile to walk back, which isn't too bad at all! This is our new favorite river to tube at. Make sure to bring your own personal water jugs and tube. There is a charge to park if you decide to park in the public parking area, or you can also decide to park along the outside where there is no fee.

This place is so much fun. My 4yo and 2yo both loved it, especially feeding the goats and llama at the petting zoo. Being the first week of August, it was really really hot and dry, so most of the bigger animals were secluded in the shade. We will be back to visit during a cooler time of year. One area is currently under construction, but the whole place was wheelchair/stroller friendly. The staff was very friendly and attentive when my niece got stung by a bee. Overall, it was a great experience.

We visited on an early Sunday morning. The line was not too long. When we left, however, the line was super long to get in. My daughter had a good time looking at all the animals. I enjoyed all the chickens and roosters walking freely. The feed for the goats is 5 dollars. I do wish they had the option of having a bottle with milk too. I was surprised to see lions, a jaguar, panther, camels and other large animals there too. I thought they only had snakes and peeting animals. Although I did like seeing the larger animals (like lions) up close I cant help but feel bad for them at the same time.

We loved this snake farm zoo, it’s very nice place to go if you love snakes, wild and farm animals and you can feed them as well. Very friendly, well informed people, clean and quite zoo. We didn’t buy the tickets before, no line and it was Easter holiday. You can buy for additional cost some food to feed animals, 5$ cup, happy animals and happy kids! Free shows with animals every 30 min. Absolutely recommended.

This zoo is awesome for kids! I brought my family and we were not disappointed. Lots of snakes and reptiles when you first walk in, and lots of animals when you go out the back. When I was there they had staff showing animals in a sort of class setting which I thought was awesome, and the kids loved the petting zoo. Only thing I didn’t like about the place was that they have a snow cone/frozen ice place in the back and it is completely overtaken by bees, but besides that it easily earns 5 starts!

Great experience took our 19 month old and we had a blast. I have never been so close to the animals at any other zoo. The petting zoo was especially fun with goats and the llama. The snake walk was nice as well. A vast array of reptiles in clean well kept cages. We will be back for sure. Better than Austin zoo by far.

The best Zoo I've been to. And I've been to the San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas zoos. They have larger animals like wolf's, lions, crocodiles, and buffalo. And my favorite the capibara. They're missing large animals like gorillas, chimps, elephants, rhino's, hippos, bears, and giraffes. For $20 I got to see the animals up close and visit the petting zoo area. Amazing place to bring your kids. The gift shop was great too.

I have passed the 35 Snake Farm for years on I-35. It’s always stood out like a sore thumb and appeared to be a random small roadside attraction that made me chuckle a little bit when passing based off the pure randomness of it. I decided one day to give it a shot and I was very surprised! This “snake farm” small zoo is very well run and surprisingly feels bigger than what it appears from the road side. The habitats seem very well kept and the paths to get to everything were spacious. It was of course interesting to see all the snakes but our family really enjoyed seeing the bison and feeding the free roaming chickens and peacocks. I was worried that this might be like Tiger King but the staff seemed overall very friendly an engaged with everything going on. If you get the chance I people definitely recommend making the stop and checking it out. My family ended up spending 3 hours here and will be back again!

This place has grown a lot. I was unaware of the additions and was not disappointed. The wolf was in distress, the lion depressed, and the little fox was clawing at the door. You can see the fox's claw marks. As an adult, it was hard to enjoy seeing all that, but the children enjoyed seeing and feeding the animals.

This place is so cute. It's kinda small but it has a lot of potential. Tons of snakes and different animals. Lions, hyenas, jaguars, and even wolves. I would definitely bring the family. Kids would be excited about this place!

If you love snakes and exotic animals/big cats, then this is the place to go. Private family owned zoo that specializes in snakes (obviously), but also has other animals in their outdoor area, birds, lions, Jaguar, black panther, bison, hyenas, alligators, zebras, lemurs and more. There are chickens and peacocks wandering freely outside as well. All the money you spend goes directly to support the zoo, they don't receive any state funding. They have a breeding program that helps requirements endangered species in partnership with other zoos, like the San Antonio zoo. They were featured on dirty jobs, so you can look that up to get an inside peak on what they do there. There are periodical presentations around the park with various animals, a petting zoo where you can feed the animals, live feeding of the hyenas, wolves and lions as well as personal one on one interactions with the animals, that one you have to pay for. Very interesting little zoo that has more to offer than you would think for a small place on the side of the highway. They told us that they just acquired another sizeable chunk of land to expand the zoo, so more stuff coming in the near future.

Small zoo but it's just perfect for visiting in the hot summer. Most of the outside is shaded. I love the free roaming roosters and peacocks. What I liked most is that all the animals were out so we didn't miss any of them.

Totally adorable little zoo! So much to see, learn and do! I loved the encounters. We had the Capybaras, Red Ruffed Lemur and Burmese Python. Kevin and Skyler were 2 of the animal hosts and they were wonderful. They really love those animals. Everyone was helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. I’ve lived in Texas forever and have seen the signs for this place for years but never had went. I’m so glad we finally did.

We were delighted to stumble across this hidden gem in the San Antonio/Comal County area. My family and I frequent a lot of parks, zoos, museums, resorts, etc., so we're familiar with the industry/terrain of "family-friendly" fun. The line moved a little slow to get us in the doors but we eventually got in and got our tickets for entry; perhaps there are online tickets I could have purchased ahead of time? Disappointed at how high the costs were to enter; I believe it was around $30 per person? I understand the cost of running an establishment of this nature but for a family of four, that's $120 (maybe higher) plus tax? Plus gift shop, food to feed the animals, snacks/drinks, etc.; too high. There is, however, a great selection of snakes and animals to learn about. The place makes for a real educational experience. The kids and entire family had a great time with how close we were able to get to the exhibits/animals, the variety of species, and the petting/feeding zones. More restrooms are an absolute must and non-negotiable for how many people frequent the zoo; there are outdoor port-a-potties, but in this heat, who could stand being in there for more than 10 seconds? Way too hot for that. Overall, good but not great due to costs and restrooms. Let us know when you want us back and we'll try to have a better experience.

Wonderful time at the snake farm zoo! Lots of gorgeous snakes and even many unexpected animals like white lions and hyenas! We also got to pet Simon, a rather large python who was every sweet. Would absolutely recommend. We got there around 2 on a Monday and there were not many people there but after about 3p the families really came in! Tickets were a little cheaper in person at $20 per adult and the feed cups for the petting zoo were $5 each (definitely recommend).

Was quaint and small enough to enjoy in a personal way. They don't rush you, and you stay as long as you like. The variety of snakes is incredible. It is an opportunity to learn so much about snakes. The zoo animals are beautiful, and petting zoo is very entertaining. Adults and children will enjoy.

Fun family adventure! The staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable about all the animals. They have events every half hour, from feedings to general education shows. You can interact with the bisons, a baby alligator, goats, baby cows, a lama/alpaca, chickens, capybaras, pigs, and a snake. There are animal encounters you can purchase. We chose the fox one, and we all got to take turns sitting with the fox on our lap and petting him (Joe). We bombard the handler with questions, and she knew all the answers. Was a very educated and fun experience! They even have a snack truck on the lot where you can get beer! I will admit, I've driven past that building at least 50 times over the past 20 years, and I never knew they had more than snakes. I think it's a common misconception. The eyes skip right over the "Animal World" and only focus on "Snake Farm". I will definitely make my way back there again. It would be a fun adventure to bring visiting family and friends.

This was a nice little zoo at which to spend an afternoon. For $20/person, we definitely got our money's worth! My family and I were visiting from Southern California, and we don't have many zoos like this around. As soon as you walk through the front door YOU ARE IN IT! Snakes and lizards to the left and right! They even had an anaconda and a black mamba! The staff are all very nice and helpful, and they make announcements for all guests to know when a particular animal was going to be fed so that you can join and, depending on the animal, participate! I highly recommend that you visit this place!

I had a very fun experiencing getting to feed and interact with all of the animals! It’s a nice place to check out with friends and family. There’s also a lot of information regarding where the animals are from, what they like to eat, etc. Definitely make time to spend a couple of hours here as there is a lot to see and do.

This is a nice little zoo! It's expanded greatly over the last couple decades from a little roadside attraction to a full fledged and accredited zoo, which is great to see. The place is kept in great condition, and the animals all were active and in good health. The staff were all well informed and friendly, and the different live shows and experiences made for a very enjoyable experience. I personally did the fennec fox experience, and got to spend some time petting Joe, an adorable fennec fox that was super soft to the touch! They have plenty of shade in the outdoor areas with covered pathways, so you're not going to be in the sun all the time, which is nice. The place has been undergoing renovations, too, and the habitats for the animals, and pathways for the humans, look better than ever! While I very much enjoyed my time here, I do have two complaints I hope this place works on in the future. A lack of bathrooms and food/water. There's a single bathroom, and several port-a-potties in one corner of the facility, and the only food was some bottles of soda and water with a water fountain at the front desk, and an ice cream truck in the back. A full fledged snack bar and expanded restroom facilities would help to make this place even better than it already is.

Great place to come and relax, especially during feeding time. I come here at least twice a week after work just to clear my head before I go home to the wife and kids. The prawn enchiladas at the gift shop are pretty good too, albeit a little on the spicy side. Clean bathrooms as well.

This place was a lot of fun! The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable! There were way more animals than I was expecting and the parking was adequate and free! I will say that I think you get a better experience earlier in the day, by midday the animals were definitely losing interest and weren't as engaging as they were earlier. My only complaint is that they only provide enrichment for the large animals "at least 2x a week" and many of the animals were really bored and did not look happy.

Such a fun place for the family! A wide variety of animals and several great encounter options. We would definitely visit again.

I was disappointed to see many enclosures closed and empty. A lot is under construction and they are still charging full price. I went at noon during a week day and I don’t feel I got all my moneys worth. But we still enjoyed learning about the few animals that were there. Sad to see the panthers missing.

To begin with we got an email 48 hours before we left saying we didn’t book a cabana or table with our tent did we want to (none were available). This was probably our fault but upon booking there are two spots to click book now and book your all inclusive glamping site. Well we saw that near the book now it said it didn’t come with the cabana during the day so we choose the all inclusive option…. Well… again might be our stupidity or their website being misleading not sure. Anyways after that we arrive (after hours) and our tent is open and unlocked with no lock in sight. We called whomever answered the after hours said it should be somewhere unsure where but it is fine. We crash! In the morning call again no lock but it is 10am we have to leave our site so our tent with all belongings had to be unlocked all day with others in the cabana area. Also, the water next to the tent wouldn’t stop dripping out tent wouldn’t zip over there so we had a nice puddle in the morning. Don’t get me wrong the property is great. The tents were dirty… but it is the outdoors. The staff that we saw were very friendly and helpful. But it is just frustrating when things aren’t what a website makes it seem to be. We still had fun! Just disappointed.

Firstly, I DID NOT FEEL SAFE! No was was there to check us in. The customer service is BELOW SUB PAR. The systems had an erron on their end that allowed us to book for virtually free. There was no reception to call out. When we finally received reception there was no one on the other end of the line to answer. Not even the EMERGENCY LINE. This place is a joke. Prior to wasting 2 hours of my time driving heren I called and asked about the glitch. I was told that the location was just reopened & that everything would be running as usual. I asked if the facility would be staffed & I was told that it would be FULLY STAFFED. Upon arriving there was NO ONE ON GROUNDS. There was no way to contact anyone. It's a laughing matter at his point. The website was not up-to-date which created an error on their end. However, having NO STAFF on SITE after being told that it would be FULLY STAFFED is unacceptable. I was later told that I was sent and email about self-check in! WOW! NEVER did I receive that! I received 4 emails & non said anything about self-check in! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION to anyone!

Super chill riverside spot on the Guadalupe! We booked for some birthdays, and the staff was super helpful. We ran over our time a bit and they didn't fuss at us at all. Nice cabanas, nice tents, everything is clean, not trashy. Electricity and water spigots at the cabanas, plenty of grilling space. They sell charcoal on site. Highly recommend this or their San Marcos River location.

We rented a cabana by the river for our family and it was a BLAST. The shuttle driver (I think his name was Greg) was so fun. He was friendly and gave us lots of useful information on floating. We rented our tubes and floated the river which took about 3 hours. The water was a little low in some spots but that’s not their fault. We were relaxing listening to music so it wasn’t an issue for us. The cabana had a hammock which was nice to lay in and relax. There was electricity and plenty of space. Definitely planning a return trip!!

This place is great if you are looking for a family tent with mattresses up off the ground. It is not clamping like in the magazines with cowhide rugs and bedside lamps. It had recently rained so there was water by the door inside and the tent had not been swept out. Just a few leaves. The cabanas are nice with nice outdoor furniture, a bar, fire pit, picnic table, fan, light, and electricity. Everything is close together. 6 feet or so. We enjoy taking and sharing food with our neighbors - families with kids. Luck of the draw on who your neighbors will be. Or how loud they will be. Bathroom fine while we were there. The area is well lit so bring eye masks. There in early April - no bugs.

1st time at Sons Guadalupe....I was pleasantly surprised how beautiful the island is....plenty of places to sit ...in and out of the water. Brandon, Omar and Matt were very helpful and very Pleasant to chat with🤣👍!! The guest around us were also very friendly 😀. I will definitely be checking out SONS other 🏝 soon!! Oh, the General Store down the road was closed...so, good thing we brought all we needed😊 ENJOY THE PICTURES 😉

We actually didn’t stay here this past weekend, but as we were going down River Road, we ran out of gas. We were quite a ways from the closest gas station & their manager, Felicity, offered to drive us to the gas station. She spent 1 hour of her time helping us & was so sweet about it. We were so grateful and relieved for the help. Thank you so much for being so kind! If anyone is looking for a great accommodation with genuinely sweet staff, stay at Son’s Guadalupe!

Many reasons of why I don’t recommend. Mold all over the tipis and Matress, bathroom trailer was beyond dirty. Clogged sinks, shower products left on shower and trashed not emptied from Friday night all the way to when we check out Sunday morning. Also tipis have no heater only a/c, so bring your own if it still gets cold during the season you are traveling. And at least with Verizon no cell phone reception, and the wifii is only on the main bldg.

We got a table in the water. It was such a great experience. The picnic table was covered by a canopy, and the water temp was great. This is our new fav place and we can't wait to come back soon!!!

I just learned today that we got majorly ripped off via pricing on the Covered table area ON the river. we ordered the space over the phone, paid $150 and I come to the website to book for my next adventure because I really liked the spot and saw that online price was around $50... I loved the spot we had, and was planning my next family vacation to bring about 14 or so of us, but seeing how I got ripped off on the price over the phone.... You wont be seeing business from us again.

Horrible! Tents lined up 5 inches apart next to port a potties. Unorganized. Huge groups of people took over our “river tables” that we rented and no one did anything about it. Pictures online looked great but looked nothing like the pictures upon arrival. Worst last minute trip ever.

Son’s Island Guadalupe was awesome. We spent Easter Sunday with the family and the guy working that Sunday was so nice and helpful. The bathroom/showers were so clean and the property was incredible. Will definitely be visiting again!

Wonderful place on river road does have cell phone reception. Matt runs the place. He went well above and beyond the call to work out any issues. I made some good memories.

Worst staycation experience ever 👎🏻 my husband & I are by no means wealthy but we had saved up to go stay somewhere for Father’s Day weekend just to end up feeling like we got SCAMED out of $400 !! We arrived Saturday afternoon to what was supposed to be a glamping tent (Very deceptive description) & cabana, there was personal belongings in our tent & a full group of drunk adults in our cabana. We were told this happens all the time & our cabana had been double booked, the young man that works on the property tried his best to be helpful but we were told other than a picnic table in the water there was nothing that could be done. As the day went of it was extremely irritating as the tent & cabana on either side of us was vacant, we were worried all day our personal belongings in our tent would be messed with by the group in our cabana as they were mad that we had bothered them. I am so disappointed by everything about this trip & to not only pay $400 for something that we didn’t even get to enjoy but all of the amenities listed on their website are complete lies !!! There is no live music (the live music is 5miles away) there were no pool tables or anything we thought we were going to be able to do. Do NOT waste your money there are so many other exceptional places to stay on River Road & Son’s Guadalupe is NOT one of them.

We had gotten invited to a gathering here, river access was awesome, tables and chairs in the water to enjoy the cool water, the cabanas are greatly built with palm tree branches. Water is flowing nicely, but trash like leaves and sticks get caught in the chairs but not a big deal. Parking is limited. You need to check in at the red bldg before driving down to the cabanas.

My sister arranged a gathering with some coworkers here and it was all of our first time. Both parking lot and the river were easily accessible from our hut. It was very hot so the fans helped to cool you off if you weren't sitting in the river. Overall, had an amazing time and hope to come back again!

I reserved a covered in-water picnic table with 6 chairs, I liked that we did not have to pack our own table chairs and canopy. First of all the water was Great and low enough that it was perfect for my kids, it was also great for tubing. Check-in was Fast and Easy as long as you fill out the online forms ahead of checkin. The only thing that can improve is having the chairs set up with the picnic table, I had to dig up 3 of the chairs from the water and rinse them off because they were covered with mud from laying at the bottom of the water. Other than that we had a great time we also had family members that rented a pavilion. The pavilion was great with electricity, water, and had plenty of seating and lighting at sundown.

Went here with the family and enjoyed our hot summer day in the gazebo with food and booze. Took our tubes out there and the kids enjoyed the river. It was shallow in enough places to walk up or down stream. It was easy to get my handicapped brother into the gazebo and down to the river to enjoy a soak. So relaxing, he ended up taking a nap! Easy check in, did not feel crowded with others, and perfect place to beat the TX heat.

Fantastic little hidden gem of a Children's Mueseum! Obviously very kid friendly, & the staff is great! My son loves coming here frequently as he has been brought by my wife alot but today I got to come aswell and found a great place for kids much bigger than I thought. I will definitely bring the kids back more especially once my 10 month old becomes more mobile aswell! We are also going to look into a membership since we are coming so frequently.

Had a blast at a family friends’ kiddos bday party! So much to offer toddlers, wish it was a bit closer as I do not live in NB but SA isn’t too bad of a drive. We will definitely return.

Great for toddlers. There were so many activities for them to do. We only got to explore half the museum. I enjoy that it was all on one level making it easier for me to watch my two kids under 3. The outdoor area has a lot of water tables and a giant climbing structure. Clean and wonderful environment for the kids.

I visited with my 2 year old grandson and he had the best time! There are multiple areas to play and explore, both indoor and outdoor. There were large foam building blocks, areas to climb along with a slide, and several hands on water activities. Indoors, there are multiple rooms such as a grocery store, play kitchen, medical clinic, train set, painting room, and an area with wind tunnels (all the kids really enjoy that one!) It was very clean, friendly staff, well priced ($8). We will definitely be going again and may even purchase an annual membership.

Got the membership after our 1st visit. My 2yo loves it and they have a variety of activities the kids can get involved in. I love how it displays a miniature of our everyday activities. Toys are tailored for kids and with kids in mind. I've seen a lot of hither parties there as well. Cool place

We love McKenna! My kiddos have been coming here since they could walk and they love it! They have multiple areas for imaginative play, a house, hospital, grocery store, camp site, space ship, and many more! They have arts and crafts that change every week. They have an amazing outdoor water table that the kids love. It's a beautiful museum sure to entertain!

Cute small children’s museum! Inexpensive and not too crowded, my kiddos loved it here. Definitely a good place for your kids to have fun.

Lots of stuff to do for kids under 6, not sure if older kids would be entertained. Very well kept up and clean for as many kids that are there. Both inside and outside activities.

This place isn't really ever crowded, except for there was a field trip when I went there but other than there's always room for everyone to have fun and it is so well designed for kids to have lots of fun. I recommend this place for kids who are bored, or parents who need a break. No need to worry about anything, your child will most likely go to a different area every now and again so you can keep an eye on them without any worries.

Lots of fun activities and even a Cafe to eat at. Prices are a little steep for just a sandwich and soup, but the price for entrance to the museum is well worth it.

Such a wonderful place for kids. Smaller than I expected but the perfect size for kids under 5. I did see older kids there, however, I have a little under 2 so that's my limited perspective. Our little was a tad too short still for some things like the grocery store but still enjoyed walking around. The kitchen, ER center, NASA space section, and the air tubes were a hit. They did a cute 'Toddler Tuesday' event where the littles made bunny bait. Mine focused on eating it all but hey, whatever makes them happy. The space walk is pitch black so beware if any littles are grappling with the dark, but a very cool experience. The campfire area is adorable and the outdoor play is a nice touch with a massive water table. Having a Tot spot was great, tough when kids over 3 enter but most parents are on top of their kids there. Our little had a blast at every turn, mainly wanting to play in the little kitchen/house corner. There were two field trips so it was more crowded than normal for a Tuesday morning but to be expected. Once those kids cleared out it was so nice to have it all to ourselves. We definitely want to go back, not sure if the adults had more fun or the kid but willing to reevaluate with another trip. No discounts on tickets for any age, no senior discounts for grandparents. I believe littles under 1 are free. Really a great deal at $8 pp.

Definitely more fun for the younger kids, but our teenagers also had fun hanging out. It is not a big footprint and is a well thought out design. It is easy to see most of the museum so the kids can run around without worrying that you lost someone. They have leaned into the role-play aspect as there are areas to be an astronaut, camper, doctor, grocer, banker, etc. We also liked that the toddler area is in the middle, so you can let the littlest guests play with supervision while the older guests can explore safely.

After a couple of months of attempting to resolve over the phone and email, I am left with leaving a review. I was hoping the museum would make this right. We had a birthday party for my daughter in July. Before I get to that, I’d like to add that they do not accommodate requests for children that have medically documented allergies regarding other food options for parties. It’s pizza and pizza only. They do not allow you to bring in alternatives. Only cake or cupcakes. No veggies, no labeled fruits snacks, nothing. I went back and counted our guests from photos taken at the party. We were charged for extra guests over the allotted amount. I asked before hand regarding a list or taking names. It was not clearly communicated how this would work. I am certain that the other parties guests were being checked in under ours. Causing the additional charge. As a parent hosting, you’re supposed to have access to help. They assign you a person to the room. This individual would disappear and reappear past the time she said she would be. It made it very chaotic with trying to get things organized and set up. There are carts you are supposed to have access to. The other party was allowed to use all carts, leaving us with none. I am expecting and the museum thought it was suffice to tell me that they cannot guarantee carts will be available for use. They also did not have staff help me with loading. Ultimately, my daughter had fun with her friends. Had I known I would be doing everything on my own without the resource’s advertised to me, I would have paid the extra money for a different venue. Due to management/directors response, we will not return to the museum. Photo added so you know this is a legit review and that we did in fact rent the space.

Super fun place for the kids to go and explore all different sections of the misused. My daughter’s favorite part was going in the dark room and seeing all the stars.

Amazing place for kids!! If you catch it at the right times you can have it all to yourself but it can be very busy at times. Especially weekends and field trip days but that is expected! So many cool things for our little explorers to use their expanding minds and imaginations.

Very good value for the price. . Seemed a little smaller than other children's museum I've been to but still so much packed into the space.

We took our 2 year old granddaughter, and she had the best time, was affordable and fun for everyone!

Love the atmosphere of this place! My boyfriend and I stopped by on a weekend trip to canyon lake in October and had a wonderful time. Would definitely be hot during the summer, as it was all outside, but was pleasant the time we went. Everybody was very friendly and the owners loved to share the history of their wines, which I loved! There was also a brick oven pizza place there for the day; pizza was amazing! Would love to visit again if back in town!

Best vineyard I have ever been to! The service was fantastic and incredibly knowledgeable about each wine we tasted. I am typically not a fan of red wine (prefer sweeter wines) but all of their reds were incredible and smooth. They change out their wines often so there is always something new. We will definitely be going back!

Love the staff! They have many events for their members where they make you feel like family. Wines are good and reasonably priced. The property is beautiful, very inviting "backyard" vibe, makes you feel at home.

We loved coming here! My girlfriends and I did a tasting, got a bottle of wine and charcuterie board. It was delicious and the staff was so nice. I will definitely come back with my husband.

I'm a mom and I LOVE that kids aren't allowed here. 99.9% of the places around this area are family friendly so it's nice to have an adult only option that's open during the day time lol I like drinking in peace! My only complaint is I wish they were open later in the evening. It's hard to make it before 6 pm sometimes. Overall, love being a member here! It's always a good time.

We are back! Missed a year due to COVID-19 onset last year! Wine stile good, atmosphere still great, and service still superb! Added a food truck on Sundays! Awesome tasting BBQ! Can’t beat this! We came here for a grape stomping event and had a blast. The grounds are beautiful and the employees are fantastic. We met the owner and his family and they are fantastic people. My wife said their wine is excellent. If you are in the area you should definitely make a stop here, you won't be disappointed.

They were very accommodating and welcomed us even though they prefer reservations. I would love to come back when the vines are growing.

We’ve been coming here for years. The drive from Austin is totally worth it. I love it in summer, sitting in lawn chairs with a cooler full of drinks and snacks. I love it in winter, snuggled up in the car. Even when my kids were little we stayed for the full double feature. It’s easy to get tickets upon arrival even on the weekend.

It was my first visit and the experience was great! It was chilly out, but I love the fact there's a playground because I will definitely be back again and again :) I haven't been to the Drive Inn since the one in San Antonio closed. I love that Stars and Stripes has offered the childhood experience for me again and being able to bring my son. Also, the hotdogs and funnel cake we're delicious. The staff is friendly, and I was greeted with a smile by the cashier. Customer service 5 star.

🎶 Let’s All Go To The Drive-Innnnnn - Let’s All Go To The Drive-Innnnnn 🎶 My ONLY complaint is that the New Braunfels location doesn’t sell the famous Chihuahua Sandwich (like the one in Lubbock) - which is one of my very favorite sandwiches in the whole entire world - and I really just don’t understand why they don’t make it here too, I mean, the Chihuahua could easily become the next big thing, and then right here smack dab in the middle of the San Antonio-Austin corridor of all places(!) - seems like a no-brainer to me and a real lost opportunity!

Best ever. We left a bit early because of the weather in the area but the time there was great! Most people follow instructions about lights and such. They have a cute playground for kids to get out that energy. The restrooms are clean. The restaurant is really cute and was clean when we went. Staff was very nice. Definitely recommend for date nights, family nights, or just all around a good time without having to sit directly next to others.

I’ve been bringing my children here for about 8 years now and they love it! I get a wave of nostalgia watching them live in the moment that I’ve also enjoyed as a child from the 90s. Stars & Stripes is spacious, clean and very convenient. There’s a playground and seating for my littles to play and run around when they lose interest in the screen. Indoor Concession stand with seating, clean restrooms. Trash cans around the parking lot for quick and easy clean up. We enjoy the double feature along with bringing our ice chest filled with snacks and drinks for the family.

We enjoyed this drive in so much!! Everything was such a pleasant experience, staff was friendly and kind. They had to remind others to turn off their lights and lower their hatch backs, while doing so they remained very respectful!! They even got into the Barbie spirit by dressing in hot pink tutus

Fantastic place to see a movie. We saw the double feature. We backed the Suburban up sit in the back to get out of the wind. Don’t forget to bring lawn chairs and a blanket. Bring your own popcorn or snacks but definitely don’t miss out on trying their burgers and hotdogs. They are very tasty and not over priced. You can take the family out and not feel like you are getting robbed. The kids behind the counter are super friendly and courteous too. Bathroom was very clean too. This is a great family venue and American Tradition. It needs to be on your family outing list.

This place was a great time. Friendly staff, clean restrooms, and alot of fun. The snack bar prices were a good value compared to other theaters. I will be see alot more movies here. I recommend everyone check this place out. Reminder, bring an fm speaker to hear the movie sound/ audio if you're watching from a tailgate or lawn chair.

This is a family favorite for us. We love it year round. It’s nice to have the liberty to bring your own food and beverages in with you. But we always hit the concession stand too because the corn fritters are a treat unique to Stars and Stripes. Great place to meet up with large groups.

Friendly staff at the entrance. The drive in is nostalgic. It reminded me of the scene from Grease when they were at the drive in and the opening had the promotion for concessions. The drive in shared their own promotions for concessions and a message of being courteousness while there. It's a great place to take the family or have date night. And a great place to go to with your friends. My first visit was rocky because of some rude audience members that flashed their lights during the movie. But I do hope that it's not the norm all the time. It's still a great place to catch a movie or double feature with nostalgia.

I grew up going to the Drive-In until the one in my city closed. Went to various ones while traveling. I relocated to SATX last year and definitely wanted to come check out Stars and Stripes. Finally made it out and it was awesome. Nothing better than watching a movie wearing pajamas and no shoes with your seat reclined. Will definitely make it a regular occurrence. Next time I will plan better and get dinner.

This is a great place to come and watch a movie. The pricing is very competitive for both the tickets and the movies. The cafe has a lot of dining options and everything we ordered tasted great. The bathrooms were very clean and there was a nice playground outside for the kiddos to play around in. The place is ran well, and brings back nostalgic memories.

Great place for family fun. We get their an hour early so our kids could play on the play ground. Also there food is pretty good and at a great price. But it’s also a plus to bring your own takeout. And for the price it’s a bargain to see the double feature, if you can stay up. They do start very late but it’s definitely worth it. Nice clean facilities.

Wow super cool retro experience! Highly recommend the drive in for the whole family. Even pets!

This was my first time at this drive-in. I went to see the Bob Marley movie. The drive from San Marcos was easy and quick. Easy to find once you exit I-35. Nice well lit sign at night that you can notice. My first impression was that it felt like I was driving into an airfield. A guy took my ticket as I drove through the booth. I was then shown which direction to drive in to see the movie that I paid for. These areas to park are very spacious. The parking spots seem endless. I like listening to the movie through my own cars speakers. I brought my own snacks and drink but there is a great snack bar with low prices. They have popcorn, milkshakes, candy and funnel cakes, and even hamburgers. The bathrooms are located inside the diner you either have to walk to the diner or drive your car there but you will disturb everyone during the movie with your headlights. The only thing I didn't like is there is no one present at the actual theater. No one to ask a question to, or to keep the peace in case someone is being rude. The theater areas themselves are pitch black with no lights except for the screen itself.

This is our go to place for a nostalgic movie nights! Get there early to get the prime spot also to not be a neusence to others who get set up in time. The best thing to do is bring a boom box for audio as the sound comes in FM radio. Also chem lights to guide you once it's dark.

Love the choice of 3 different movies - and double features on the weekend. Really appreciate the many reminders about courtesy for lights and hatches. Projection quality is excellent and detailed.

Excellent wine, we did the 4 wine for 5$ tasting. My favorite was the chard. Beautiful location, the Guadeloupe is a short walk away.

Nice quaint place away from the mob of people visiting Gruene. First time visiting and loved the vibe and wine! They have something for everyone even the sweet tooth like me and Wifey!🤪 definitely have to do the wine tasting for $4! Plus the souvenir glasses for $2 more each! Great bargain! The infused wines were the favorites! Not the strongest but very tasteful! We bought 6 bottles and after leaving wish we bought more! Great service too!

This is our favorite winery in greune! We will be back every chance we get. Excellent pricing for tastings, the wines are fantastic, the owners are super personable, and the staff is very friendly. Definitely worth your next stop!

Fabulous place! Stop in for a glass or a tasting! 4 tastes for $4, keep your glass for an extra $2. Very reasonable prices. Lots of choices if you have wine experience or if you are a novice. My personal favorite is Gewurtztraminer (ask for Girls Are Meaner!) They have ports right now for the holidays. Bathroom on site and a food truck outside. Inside or outside for tasting. Parking on site. Pam is amazing and will help you out!

We normally love going here as we enjoy the wines and the staff. We come back every fall for their fantastic ports. We stopped in on Sunday and had our normal awesome experience. The wine was great and the staff were very helpful and pleasant. We returned on Tuesday night and the staff were unpleasant and downright rude in favor of a staff member's family and friends who were there. Hopefully, this was just a once off since we really enjoy coming here every time we come to the New Braunfels area. Would have given a five star except for this last unpleasant experience.

I love sweet, fruity wine, so this is my favorite spot. They have a great tasting (4 samples for $7), and the wine is very reasonably priced. It is the first wine where I can actually TASTE the fruit. They of course have your typical reds and whites if sweet is not your thing. The only downside is the lack of comfortable seating during the hot months. It does tend to get busy, so plan accordingly.

Visited several times in the past and had a good experience. Our visit 6/4, the two ladies at the winery were NOT friendly and not very welcoming. Wine is reasonable priced and the venue is pretty. Rating heavily based on terrible customer service experience.

This place is cozy and the prices are just so inviting. I say that because I’m not a wine enthusiast at all. Haha. Very pleased with their customer service and the Chilean Malbec is fire.

The wine options, service staff, and seating were excellent and definitely worth a future visit. However, as we were loading our kids in the car, a middle-aged woman came over to tell us (while gesturing toward the parking lot exit) that the parking lot is for customers only. Considering we left the wine room about a minute ago, my only response was "Yeah, we just finished." I'm not sure if she was affiliated with the business or not, but it ruined our otherwise pleasant first visit.

Lovely winery with a great deal on tasting. $5 for a tasting of 4 wines (your choice of 30 international wines types made by the winery) what a deal! If you are in Gruene you should stop here. Nice yard for my son to play in while I got to relax.

Well I really wanted to enjoy this place. I ordered 2 wine tastings and left my tab open(they keep your card). I go to purchase two bottles of wine and they can’t find my card. They literally gave my card to another customer when HE closed his tab AND charged me for his tab. I get it mistakes happen however they never even apologized AT ALL!! They took his charges off my card BUT proceeded to charge me for mine. It should’ve been free at the very least for the inconvenience. Again, not one single person behind the bar ever apologized for what happened. Completely irresponsible behavior. Get a better system in place if you’re going to keep people’s cards if they open a tab. If someone had said they were sorry, I wouldn’t even be leaving this review

New owners celebrated their first anniversary of ownership recently. Very personable, and they set up events each Thursday that rotate between Bingo, Karaoke, and Trivia - with fun prizes! Option to Buy in for wine membership is a terrific value, giving you added discounts and benefits, including percentages off, birthday deals, and $10 when you refer another to membership. We tried variations of wines. My favorite was the Pinot Grigio. Our table taste tested Watermelon White Merlot, Texas Rose, Raspberry White Zinfandel, Peach Chardonnay, lil' Cranberry, Acai Cabernet and there are so many more options, both fruit based and others. The Pinots were my favorite. The Winery of the Gruene is a great place to hang, or celebrate a birthday (like I did 2 years ago) or college graduates, like we did this year. Indoor and outdoor options, light fare to keep you sober while you have tastings, and walking distance from all things wonderful about Gruene, Texas. Highly recommend, you will find at least 1 or 2 wines that you loved and take home!

The Winery on the Gruene is a nice little winery. They offer a good selection of wines for tasting and of course available to purchase. If you like dessert oriented Port wines the selection and flavors they offer was truly spectacular.

Amazingly delicious wine selection with plenty of variety!! There are a ton to choose from with something for everyone! My husband and I differ in wine tastes, but we each found a wine we loved! Plenty of outdoor seating too! The staff is super helpful and full of knowledge.

Great tubing experience. It’s at the start of the river with easy access to get into the river. The tubs had bottoms but they don’t have a head rest option which would be great. Over all I would use them again.

Had a blast at Landa Falls tubing this July 4th! Water was nice and fresh and cool. Definitely recommend getting a tube with a bottom so you can keep your sunscreen and water bottles at the bottom without worrying about holding them the entire time. Fun for the whole family and a great way to cool off from the heat! $20 for a weekday and $25 for weekend or holiday. Our shuttle driver was so nice!

We checked in around noon. Pumped our own tubes which saves you money and time - I suggest bringing your own tubes as it's convenient! At first we waited over an hour due to a shortage in tubes, but surprisingly that hour went by super fast with the company of mine and also the people around - very friendly! The river was nice. Some spots were mesmerizing. We stayed on the river for about four hours!! The tube chutes were a fun surprise. They had complimentary shuttle service in which we put our tubes in a bed of the van and hopped in!

Always a delightful experience. They are right on the entrance so it's easy to enter the river. The shuttle back has AC and runs frequently. Lots of stops to rest and swim. Took us about 3.5-4 hours! We will be back again next year. Happy floating!

Absolute favorite place to float the Comal River. Parking is never a hassle and they have easy access to the river. They are the longest and most enjoyable float.

A wonderful, peaceful and perfect place to spend with family and friends. We came down on April 24th. No crowds! Great time to come! We used Texas Tubes. Great service! Staff was very nice and our bus driver Mr. Gillcrease was fun to talk to! Have been many times and look forward to coming back! We also stayed in our RV in their park. Right on the river! Beautiful!

We had a BLAST! We always ONLY use @LandaFalls they are the longest river ride on Comal. Sister had brought some friends who moved from Ohio, so it was their 1st time, and they had a great time. Our 3 year & 7 year old grandson's a an awesome time as well.

The longest float on the Comal is a great choice because of the great price, ease of check-in, great tubes, and long relaxing ride! We traveled with a group of 7 and got an extra tube for our cooler and two kayak/wet bags we brought for valuables/snacks. I picked Landa Falls because the price was the same or better than all the other places and it had the longest float of all of them. This was a solid 3.5 hour float in early July while the water was moving very slow. It will take you longer to get to the first water chute (which is the biggest), but there is a park you can stop at to reapply sunscreen and jump in from the steps or wall for a little bit in the shade. You park across the street from the retention pond/damn area and Wurstfest area. You then walk across the street and into the Wurstfest area and there is a sign to take you down to the check-in and tube storage area. We put our sunscreen on here because it was shaded and after we checked in. Then get your tubes, hop in the water and float. When you get to the end of the float you exit where the final exit stairs are and then need to walk about a block down the street to the designated Landa Falls area for shuttle pick up. This was really clear for us and the 15 other people who were also from Landa falls, but once one of us saw the sign we directed everyone to the correct waiting area. You will cross the street from the take out area and stand along the street very near to Schlitterbahn east. Overall great company and great experience!

Landa Falls made many improvements since the last time we were here. It's absolutely beautiful. The only thing I didn't like was the wait time to get in the river. They did have a waiting area near the water that was nice, but we were ready to float right away like we used to be able to do. All that aside, we had a wonderful time!!

Great place to rent tubes. Parking was close and the price was reasonable. Float time is longer too. The staff were super nice and helpful. The ride back after float was prompt and comfortable. We will definitely come back here for our next float down the river.

It is a nice ride down the river. It takes you less than 3 hours to get to the end of the ride if you take it from here. Just be sure to use sunblock or you will regret it. You might find that guy with the loud music during the ride.

A really lovely little stop off and a great place to pop in to. It will occupy about 30minutes with kids or longer perhaps without. There is so much history crammed in here and the volunteer that ran it on the day we were visiting was excellent.

Very small Museum not much to see. Can blow past it within a few minutes. It was amazing seeing how big trains are up close. Also, it's free with a suggested donation of $3.

Nice little museum. Kids are encouraged to interact with the exhibits. The two guys running the museum loved to talk trains.

A worthwhile stop in downtown New Braunfels, if you like trains. If you love trains, then stop for sure.

We were staying in San Antonio and decided to drive over to New Braunfels for the day. We went to the railroad museum as it opens at noon and really enjoyed it. They have a lot of memorabulia concerning the railroad as well as a scale model railroad that they will run for you. They also have an old steam engine and dining car. If you like trains this is worth a visit. They asked for a $3.00 donation per person which was very reasonable.

Perfect outing for the kids! Great field trip for homeschoolers! It was very educational!! Can't wait to go pm Kids Fun Day!°

Went into a small room that had a lot of information and photos. When you went into the miniature train room, the lady had 6 trains running around an entire city, which filled up the room. Outside, they had real train components that u could walk through. An engine, baggage compartment, dining car and caboose. They only asked 4 a 3 dollar donation. On certain days, we are set aside 4 kids to run certain things

Very interesting. It is a free admission but you can leave a donation if you like. There is a dining cart. There is also a very nice display of little toy trains going around thru tunnels, crossing the road and passing thru a little town. There is also little toy trains for sale.

Freindly guides. There's a large dining car, a caboose and a room with a massive model train set with village built over time by a local train enthusiast club...a must see!

Ok for young children and someone to explain items to them. Boring for senior adults. Most items not labeled as to what they are. Can spend about 45 minutes here if you read all the plaques. $8 entry

This museum tells a detailed history of the settlement of Texas arraigned by German nobility in the mid 1800’s. There is an amazing collection of artifacts that were saved and donated by the German population. The lobby has a nice explanation of the evolution of the major oil companies. There is a short film that introduces the immigration process. There is a small, city like old town to walk through. The highlight to me is the age, conditions, and variety of artifacts. Cost is $ 8 for adults.

The Sophienburg museum provides an interesting background on the history and experience of German settlers in the region. Exhibits range from the vessels they came in to life in town. Movies provide additional detail on how and why they came and their influence on modern day education. Allow 45-60 minutes to take it all in. Excellent value if you're interested in regional history.

My husband and I visited the museum and found it to be a really well done collection of artifacts. We spent about an hour going through the museum and the gift shop. The staff there was very friendly and provided helpful information. We are really glad we went.

Great Museum of the settlement of New Braunfels. Clean and well-organized, some video presentations, wonderful intro background by docent before self tour. 90 minutes gave our group a wonderful overview of New Braunfels in the 1800's. Highly recommend!

A smaller Museum offering a clear glimpse into past local Germanic history. Unusual items have created this Museum, well worth meandering through & reading about it all. Prince Carl of Old Braunfels in Germany arrived here to create this town of New Braunfels. Dont firget to visit " Sophie's Shop," their German gift Shop. Enjoy the photos.

You must go into Sophie's gift shop it is amazing. It has holiday themed items, as well as great day to day items. The young lady that runs the gift shop is very helpful and obviously takes pride in her work.

Spent 45 minutes hear reading all their signage. Many, many items unidentified in their exhibits. Tickets are $8 each. Ok for young people to learn history, but not much fun for us seniors.

At first I had second thoughts that it will be boring but I'm glad I went. I loved everything about the ancestors of new braunfels. Since I'm from Germany, it was a huge pleasure to see all the old pieces!!!

What a surprisingly comprehensive cultural history museum! Really brings historical New Braunfels to life! Very warm, knowledgeable staff welcomed us today.

This was our 1st time here, which was very interesting and very nicely set up. If you like history, especially of this town of why and how it came to be, this will answer your questions. They have a lot of old artifacts it's small yet full of a lot of interesting information. How this Prince Carl Solms-Braunfels came to be and why it is New Braunfels. The staff is very knowledgeable and very friendly. Be nice to go, at least so you know the history of New Braunfels.

The museum was laid out in a very interesting way, by sections of their lives. A very sophisticated and cultural life for being transported from city to country living.

What a cute museum! We enjoyed learning about the city of NB and its rich German history. The murals around town make a lot more sense if you understand the story behind them!

Never knew that a German Prince was responsible for the immigration and development of German cities in the New Braunfels area of Texas. An interesting museum and the staff is very proud of its heritage.

The history of the founding of New Braunfels is very well documented with fun and informative displays of artifacts from life in the 1800's. Helpful and knowledgeable staff are willing to answer questions.

This museum is wonderful. While it's not a large museum there is a lot to see and take in. I would have loved to spend more time but we were meeting a friend and could only spend 45 minutes. At $8 I think it's an extremely good value. It's a nice place to escape from heat and crowds and learn some history of New Braunfels! The amount of detail put into this museum was appreciated and not lost on us! My only negative is that the employees were not friendly at all. I had read reviews about how helpful and nice they are. That was not our experience. The gift shop was wonderful but the woman behind the register literally didn't acknowledge us. Disappointing but definitely not enough to deter us from coming back or recommending it.

I went on the weekend while it's free. Definitely cool to learn about New Braunfels and it's founding, even though I'm not even from New Braunfels.

Prince Solms Park pre-dates Schlitterbahn New Braunfels by 3 years. So if you like simplicity and nature without all the man-made bells and whistles, this a decent place.

$2 to tube on weekends over the summer. Free to put in during the weekday. You must pay to park there for the day(8am-7pm). Park has tennis courts and disc golf as well as tube chute rental $7 or tubing down the Comal river $2 weekends and free weekdays. You can put in to tube further up the river for free, if you bring your own tubes and don’t want to pay for parking. This requires a half mile walk, though just to put in. Tube from chute/Prince Solms Park to last free exit 1.5 hour float when river is flowing fast. Walk back to park isn’t bad but will take 20 minutes on shaded sidewalk. No shuttle from river exit to park where you left vehicle.

This was my first tubing experience, and it was SO GREAT! loved the shoots, and then the relaxing float. The best of everything!

Awesome Park and River float. We have been going to this place for years. Each year it is awesome and relaxing. For the most part everyone is respectful. Don’t forget the sunscreen and bug spray. Don’t drive stakes into the ground to hold down pop ups. There is underground tubing for an irrigation system. Get there early to get a picnic table, during the week they are free. On the weekends and holidays there is a fee. The canopy trees offer good shade. Life jackets are available for children’s use. The walk from the exit of the river float to the entrance is not that far, an easy walk. To pay for parking is simple if you download the App. Remember to bring an air pump to inflate your tubes. The bathrooms are fairly clean.

This place would be so much cooler if I didn’t feel like it was a financial racket designed to somehow charge people for parking AND entrance into a river. Beware, the parking is $21 and only lasts until 7pm plus the place is swarming with children and park rangers. My suggestion would be to find a much friendlier place to enter the river.

Went there today March 12th . Was not too crowded. The weather was overcast and windy. Water level and flow was strong.

Love the falls at the park. First time there recently and it is nicely laid out. Always wear a life jacket if your a poor swimmer my daughter is alive today because she wore one. The set up is simple and large. Careful going down the chutes so you don't fall out. Plenty of river bank to rest on and enjoy the weather. Best hours are after 7pm when only the locals come out to play.

Great park to visit. The water does have a lot of algae in the river but it's beautiful. I definitely will not swim in the water. But many people do. It truly is pretty deep so make sure if you have kids with you they can swim.

Great place to float and enjoy the cold refreshing water! You can bring your own toobs and put in at Prince Solms then float for a few hours to the last free exit and it is only a 10-15 walk back to prince solms!

The weather was warm and so was the water. It has few fun drops but otherwise a slow flat ride.

Come early and bring your patience. Parking is a nightmare but the float is worth it. We park one vehicle here and another at the end of the Public float exit so transport is easy. We paid $2 per person. No military discount and the Wristbands are strictly enforced by the police who are waiting at the inside of the entrance gate. Bring waterproof bags that can be tied down to you or your Tube and Make sure to leave lots of air so if you do lose it, it floats. I saw at least 3 people lose their car keys and cell phones while we floated.

Be very careful on the tube chute. The beauty can be dangerous. Parking is $30+ between May 1st through Labor Day.

Love this place gets better every time we go. Tubing the river is always great it's clean people here are cool and laid back it's awesome. My family and I hit this place up as often as we can it's summer everyone needs a good cool dip in the water
