INCREDIBLE PLACE!!! We (two people in their mid-20s) spent almost 4 hours there. With kids you could easily spend more. MANY hands-on science activities, animals to see, and PLENTY to learn about. Staff INCREDIBLY knowledgeable with questions. A FANTASTIC place to spend a morning :)

Great museum. Two buildings, both two floors and both have aquariums. Loved the touch pools for sting rays and one for starfish, and sea cucumbers. There was also an outdoor section for a wet land exhibit and birds. They also had a large boat that you could explore. Lots of information and interactive exhibits it's. All staff we meet was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend bringing quarters outdoor pond to feed the fish.

Great place for the family! So much to see and do. The museum and aquarium is very interesting. It’s two separate buildings and an outside part. My daughter really enjoyed coming here. Our favorite part was the aquarium/seeing the fish.

Lots to see, inside and out. I personally loved the historical, natural history, environmental displays. My kids really had fun with the interactive displays, and of course the stingrays. Be prepared to have your kids get wet! Most of saltwater area was closed when we were there, unfortunately, so I can't comment on that. From their website, and view from the parking lot I actually thought it would have even more to see and do. But there is plenty the way it is. Cost is fairly high in my opinion, but I'm a cheapskate. No worse than going to a movie, or out to eat for a family. They need to pay the bills too, and you're supporting an educational gem in the process. They periodically have traveling displays that visit to add to the amount you can see and do. We would definitely go again!

Amazing science, natural history, and history museum. Excellent. I've had the privilege to visit the big museums in DC, New York, Chicago and elsewhere, and the Mississippi River Museum punches well above its weight for an establishment located in a small out-of-the-way city. The quality, variety, depth, and curation of all parts of the museum and its grounds are excellent. Well worth the trip!

Great way to spend the day! Our group all had fun (kids aged 3, 6 & 15 + adults) with plenty to explore in each area. The aquarium tanks in both buildings were the favorite of all. The STEM labs had truly engaging & fun activities and the water table was a nice play break. The space is beautifully designed and easy indoor outdoor transition- seemed very wheelchair/stroller friendly. Don’t miss checking out what’s on board the William M. Black 🛳️ we had fun talking about what life on a boat would be like Pleasantly surprised at cafe offering and gift shop 🛍️ The entire staff was kind and welcoming and the space was clean. Despite going on a Summer Saturday and it was busy, it didn’t feel crowded. We will be back again!

Will definitely not get tired of visiting aquariums! Staffs are very approachable and knowledgeable! One of the best aquarium I’ve been too, great service! Their stingrays are very social as well and we definitely enjoy it! They have a large area as well and another building so there’s really too much to see!

Great museum and aquarium. There were a lot of interactive visits for my 2 and 4 yo I clouding two different water tables. There was a free makers space with basic art supplies and a bunch of interesting 3-d printers which were not available for use but neat to see and an informative employee was there to answer questions. Lots of cool animals to see including otters, alligators, snakes, an eel, fish, and raptors. We were there for 2 hours and there was still more to see. We skipped over most of the more adult stuff but there was planeta to read and learn for a more mature audience.

We loved our experience! So much to see and do for all ages. Our kids (5 and 3) had a blast. A lot of educational, interactive and live animals to enjoy. Highly recommend. We can't wait to visit again and check out the 4D theater and pet the sting rays.

Buy tickets in advance and save a couple of dollars to use in their cafe. So much to do and see and touch. This is a real hands-on educational gem. We've been here many times and every time there is something new to explore, and older to re-explore The stingray touch and see tank is always a delight. Be gentle and the stingrays will come back for more touches. The cozy IMax like film theater allows everyone a phenomenal seat. The (at least 3D) films are worth the slight extra cost... Especially film #2 when purchased together with film #1. Marvelously they can both be 4D!! Films change frequently and they're always interesting and educational. Visit both indoor sides and it's outdoor middle. History and the future come alive behind every door and the information might be presented by a person, video, computer, well designed display or some other way. Additionally we met Tom and Becky there. They are wonderful to watch; however, you have to go to know how well they are doing what they otter.

Great place for all ages!! Very large complex, and you have the opportunity to see it over 2 days included in the price of admission. Pet the rays, see the fish, tour the riverboats, see a short 4D film, and explore some science themed exhibits.

The River Museum was not only very educational but all very interactive. As soon as you walk in you’re greeted by the nice attendants in the front. They inform you where certain exhibits are located and what’s located in the other building (as this place is HUGE) . For any pressed penny collectors out there , there is one machine in the main building and one in the second. The second building contains all the salt water fish along with the child play area. My favorite was the otter and the sting rays. On their website they have a live camera to view the otter from 8am- 5 pm along with a live camera to view the Mississippi River. Definitely recommend for all to visit.

A smaller aquarium but still very enjoyable. I loved the otter, the octopus, and the raptures! The boat museum was an added bonus. Even though we went on the day there were many little kids dressed for Halloween, we still enjoyed ourselves. We were able to see everything. The added Halloween decor and band playing made it extra fun!

Great place to go. My kids LOVE petting the sting rays and the sea anemones. There used to be another play area upstairs I thought but I don’t know what happened to it. Your ticket is a 2 day pass, my kids only spent about 2 hours there before they were ready to leave. I have a 6 year old and 8 year old. The boat was put away for the season so that usually takes about 30 minutes and they were too cold to go to the marsh area. But they had a lot of fun. We went the next day to pet the stingrays again and play in the kid area. We were also members with out zoo so we were able to get a discount!

Great place to visit grand kids loved it, indoor and outdoor bits to visit. Outdoor you can wander round the dock and explore the old dredging paddle steamer. Indoors there's the aquarium with fish, alligators touch pools, displays on the Mississippi and it's flood plains. There's a kids discovery area with pools too play in, with an activity room. There's a old line shaft driven machine shop with lathes, planner, grinding and polishing wheels radial drill. In the second building there's more of the story of the Mississippi it's captain's and the natives. There a restaurant with a good clean bathroom. A good gift shop with a good range of bits and bobs. There's offers on the entry prices depending on the mix of the group visiting we got two seniors, two adults and one child in for 109.75 adults are 23.95 seniors 21.95 youth 17.95 under 3 are free

Really well curated museum, fun aquarium. Can easily spend half a day here. Especially if the weather is good--get outdoors!

So much fun! We took our kids for a day adventure and got to see a lot of cool aquatic life we spent about three hours here and there was so much to see!

This was a marvelous family adventure. Everyone learned a lot about engineering, tools, pioneers of innovation, conservation, Native Americans, trades, floods, stingrays, & a lot more!! I encourage everyone to make this visit, so worth it!! We were even able to touch sting rays, starfish, & sea anemones😆😆😆 totally Fantastic experience!!

We had an amazing experience - even as 3 adults with no children in our group. We were very pleasantly surprised by the amount of things to see and do here. Our favorite part was walking around the boat. Highly recommend for families and adults alike

Really enjoyed going and checking out this place. It said it is the world's shortest and steepest, so when I found this, I had to go and ride it. It was worth the 4 dollar round trip. I rode it from the top down and checked out the shops at the bottom.

Fun little tourist stop, worth the time if you like the views of Dubuque. Would probably be even more beautiful when the leaves change. Check the dates of operation, and they only accept cash.

The funicular is a fun way to get from top to bottom of the hill. The ice cream shop at the bottom of the hill is also worth the stop for good treats and cute decorations. Scenic view from the top and the old time feel of the elevator make this a notable stop while visiting Dubuque

Such a neat experience in Dubuque with wonderful views at the top! The trolley is open air, so if it is rainy or cold, or potentially if you have really small children, it may make sense to wait. Really neat to see it in action and ride to the top. And the fares are extremely reasonable (fyi - pay booth is at the top)!

Very beautiful views and a wonderful experience! Do yourself a favor and start at the bottom. Look for Sweet Memories Ice cream shop. There is no public restroom at the lookout point. Be aware they only accept cash. No cards.

Looking for something different to do on a Sunday afternoon, we packed up the “Twenty-Paws” in the PupBus and headed to Dubuque. A somewhat scenic, hilly drive from Cedar Rapids and only about an hour away and we were there. The Fenelon Elevator Company. I had never heard of it, but my husband had been there many times as a child. (About 50 years ago). Since it was so late in the season, (we went the Sunday in November) we were able to park on the street right next to the station and there was no waiting to get on board. The round trip fare was $4, and you can board from the top or bottom of the hill. The ride is not long, but quite steep. The videos are not shot in slow motion. Since the staff was not too busy, she shared a little history with us before we left. Very friendly! Fun little adventure. Something you could do with the family. Open April to November.

They trolly ride is a historic site. The project started in 1882. If you arrive at the trolly station on the top of the hill which is the south gate, you will have a very good view of the Mississippi River and Illinois and Wisconsin in addition to the two bridges that connect Iowa to those two states. The trolley itself is two dollars For one-way ride and four dollars for round-trip. The trolly car has limited seats— 4 to 6 people can fit comfortably inside it. It travels slow. There’s some wildflowers on the path down the hill but it is mostly grass and trees. It would have been nice if there were more flowers on the path down the hill.

Very cool experience. Would give five stars, but we used the address listed on Google and it gave us the address to the top. Lots of searching and searching we never did find the address to start below, which is what we wanted to do. Another couple there experienced the same thing. Overall, would definitely go again.

Great views! We parked at the bottom of the hill and took a round trip. It's cash only. The little cabins are very cute. It was a nice, slow ride.

I love this elevator! It’s cash only but only $8 for 1 adult and 2 kids. It’s a pretty short ride but is super fun.

It was so cool. I am so glad I did it it was kind of scary when you leave to go down the hill. Even got a picture of the elf. 4.00 dollars round trip we'll worth it.

A cool little cable car. The view from the top is very pretty. It was a nice stop on our way through the area.

We drove to the top station parked up and took the elevator for a round trip just so we could say we had been on it. From the top there's some good views over the city with a platform for photo shoots. We then went and got some shots of the elevator from down the street. The ride only takes a couple of minutes but it's a good novelty ride grand kids loved it. The step into the car at the top may bother some people and due to the angle of the car the steps to the seat are quite high. The fare is cheap so just go and do it.

SUPER cool experience! I didn't know this was here but GLAD we found it! This one-of-a-kind ride up the hill was absolutely worth the wait in line! We got a GREAT view of the city and had fun meeting some new people in the process! I definitely recommended doing this if ever in the Dubuque area!

$4 round trip ride on this historic funicular, located in Dubuque. The attraction holds significance for my family and we’ve been visiting regularly for over 30 years. Hope the 4th Street elevator is around for many years to come.

Unique rail elevator. $2.00 one way or &4.00 round trip. Uses 2 elevators that run in tandem. As one goes down, the other goes up. The middle rail is shared except where it's critical that the cars collide. Very steep. The view at the top is amazing. There may be a line but the wait isn't too long. You can start the rail from top or bottom. Payment is made at the top.

The lady who has worked on both of my visits is super nice! The view is beautiful. The ride itself is smooth. Having gone both ways (starting at the top vs. base), I would recommend riding top to base and then walking around the little shops and even the downtown shops a couple blocks away. Even if just for a ride, do it! $4 round trip can't be beat!

Had a wonderful time! We were traveling through Dubuque, and discovered the Funicular on a painting. A quick Google search helped us find it's location. The trip takes 3 minutes up and another 3 minutes down the hill. Slow, pleasant, no stress, and the views from the top are fantastic! There is a wonderful shopping area surrounding the lower end of the Funicular. Unfortunately, we were on a time schedule, so did not have time to enjoy that area. There is an interesting story about its history, and past owners. Be sure to ask for info!

This is a great park, but I didn't see any reviews that indicated the changes in the winter. Google maps navigated me down to the locks and said I could walk up to Eagle Point. Once I arrived, I could tell that certainly wasn't going to happen, and I had to use the satellite view to figure out how to get myself to the real park. Once I arrived there, I found the gates were locked, apparently they do this in the winter. There is no parking where they lock the gate at the bottom, but using Google satellite view again, I was able to find another parking area further to the North next to a residential area. My guess is the "residents" don't like the traffic and have moved the pin to make it more difficult for citizens to visit. I can't say I blame them. But the park is very beautiful and worth a walk-around in the winter, with good views down to the Mississippi, locks, and boat/train traffic. I hope I can come back in the spring to see this when it is truly alive again.

One of the best parks along the Mississippi. One great feature is the park keeps the bluff clear of brush and trees so the views a superb.

We had a great time walking around all the different areas at Eagle point Park and Dubuque Iowa. You have a great view of the river and there are a lot of nice walking trails. Definitely worth the $1 that you have to spend to get into the park!

I came with a bunch of friends for a walk the first week of December, so you know it was super chilly out there! But the view was so pretty, we got to capture two Eagles which was so nice

We spent the whole day here. There's so many different spots to get out of the car an to explore. So many different parks the views are just amazing. Lots of spots you could rent and have parties there. We enjoyed the fish pond.

Magnificent park with mature trees. The view to the Mississippi river is terrific! I will be back to explore more.

Amazing blufftop park with multiple overlooks high above the mighty Mississippi River. Excellent birding in all seasons, notably Bald Eagles in the winter. Awesome CCC-era park shelters, restrooms, stairs, and other park structures. Truly a treasure to rival most State Parks.

Cost $1 to get in. It's a nice clean park with lots of options for events. Even has a playground for kids. Has just a few view points of the river and the #11 lock and damn. I honestly was more impressed with the river views at the Julian Dubuque Monument.

This is a great place to walk around and have a picnic. They have a variety of shelters that you can pick from. You can reserve the shelters. They have a little pond with Fish koi also called curb. They have a little area that sprays water for small children to get cooled off. They have a number of playgrounds and they also have tennis courts. There is also a bike/walk path from the main road all the way up to the top to Eagle point Park. It cost one dollar to drive into the park.

I had no idea I was headed to a park, I was just looking to get to higher ground for a photo. We came across this park entrance and decided to go in. The cost is a simple $1.00 fee. Driving up we noticed how nice the park actually is. We drove up to what is considered a lookout point. What a beautiful view from here. Very happy its a clear day and that we could take in the views. Plenty of parking, picnic shelters and restrooms available. Enjoyed about an hour watching the birds, boats, people and just admiring the views. It's also know for Eagle Watching which by the way the buzzards are flying around your going to get some great up close views of these eagles.

I love the Jo. Great vibe and atmosphere. I feel like I’m gonna win every time I walk thru the doors. I won once tho. It was great. Good drinks and I think they’re employees upper echelon for this town.

So much fun! Lots of room to move. Super busy but not crowded. The comedian we seen was hilarious. The waitress was incredibly nice. Only downfall is that people can smoke in there, but it's not a deal breaker for me.

This is a very enjoyable casino to attend, especially for those that are with their partners & don’t gamble. Personally, the bathrooms alone make it above and beyond!

Seems kinda worn out. But is well maintained. Bar area seems to be kinda messy. Bartender wasn't unfriendly, but it seemed like we were a bother. I would return

Nice reward system for new players card. Love getting the mailed monthly specials, too many emails to actually look. I like it in writing. Easy parking. Friendly staff. Self serve pop and coffee. I didn't see very many cocktail servers, but I wasn't there very long. A couple different options for food. As long as you can get past the smoke, it's a decent casino.

Overally pretty good! The biggest drawback was the smoking which you can smell basically everywhere (except the tiny non-smoking area). They had a lot of machines, table games, and free soda/water. They also had an area for sports betting. Would love to come back if only I could leave without smelling like an ashtray.

I love this place. They have bowling here also on the third floor. They are kind of slow when trying to order food and drinks, dew to them being under staff. But you will love this place. If you're here, please check out their sky deck it's a beautiful site during the spring and summer months.

It says no smoking on the doors, but there is definitely smoking inside. It is a casino. I recommend it...I'd had given Diamond Jo a better review if I won any money- kidding, the smoke give it a 4 vs 5. There are a variety of games, both machines and tables- penny slots to high rollers area! It is an easy and safe walk from Hotel Julien and the immediate surrounding area.

We were looking forward to two evenings at this casino. We couldn't stand another minute due to the smoke. It was so disappointing that the no smoking section was like a closet. We need a shower! Not only will We not be coming back tomorrow...we'll never be coming back. Hoping to get home without lung cancer.

Staff and service were great! Very enjoyable time at the Ally Cat. Rented for a small Birthday party. Perfect venue especially for kids.

Rented the alley cat area of cherry lanes for our daughter and everyone had a great time. Pizza was expensive for what you got, but the cosmic bowling was fun.

Boyd Rewards staff was excellent, very friendly, and helpful. One even put off taking a break so my wife and I could both get signed up quickly. Casino is clean and very well maintained. My only complaint is that the cocktail waitress went by the blackjack table so fast I didn't even have time to blurt out an order.

Overall, a regrettable experience. This place will lure you in and suck you dry with no remorse or about you or your family.

Had a blast. The employees were nice and there's complimentary sodas and coffee. My partner won on the big wheel of fortune game. You can smoke here and there's tons of ventilation so it doesn't smell bad. Lots of parking and some of my favorite 25 cent games. Real old spinner slot machine. Triple diamond etc!!!

We came for a comedy show. The only complaint I had was the chairs were put together side by side so we had no arm room. Good thing comedy shows aren't too long or would have been extremely uncomfortable. They really pack you in there.

Super big. The only downfall is that the ventilation doesn't seem super great. As a former smoker and my husband being a current smoker, we both thought it was very strong. Otherwise, we had a lot of fun.

Being a local girl, I may be considered a regular, since I visit "the Jo" for a variety of reasons. We saw the Mavericks in the Moon Bar on my birthday, among other big name bands and local favorites as well, over the years. The Filament restaurant is the only venue open late enough for the cast and crew of our theater company to grab a bite to eat after a show. I've played my fair share of slots while visiting the Jo, as well, and can reasonably estimate that I've won more cash than I've spent here in total. I once had a medical emergency that required quick response and I'm grateful to be able to say the staff and attending employees performed far and above what anyone could expect, in the prompt care I was given. Thank you again for prioritizing your guests and attending to their needs in such a kind yet professional manner. I would be inclined to agree with anyone who says the Diamond Jo never disappoints when it comes to premier entertainment event centers.

Pretty place but was just out of season for the followers. The garden still is beautiful and has great variety of trees

Attended a wedding shower today and was thoroughly impressed with the grounds. The garden was well taken care of by VOLUNTEERS. The Koi Fish pond is very large as are the fish, and there are lots of fish. The grandkids were able to feed them with boughten pellets. We were probably 2 week early from seeing everything bloom. Lots to see anytime of the year.

A wonderful garden that is meticulously maintained by a veritable volunteer army, whose love of the place shows. It could be the best Botanical Garden in America, the only one that comes close is the International Peace Garden in North Dakota. Free parking, free admittance. A nice little gift shop and a free little library. This place is awesome and worth checking out. Excellent work by the volunteers, the place is immaculate. Do yourself a favor and spend the afternoon strolling around the place. There are picnic tables, a playground and trails to walk or bike just outside of the garden proper.

Beautiful gardens! If the weather is nice, you could spend the whole day here! This garden is immaculately maintained and also included educational tidbits about different plant varieties along the way. Also, if you stop by the store, you can buy fish food (super affordable) to feed the koi in the Japanese garden. The pellets come in plastic bags so you don't have to get your hands dirty and you can deposit them afterward to be re-used. All in all, a great place to visit if you have some time traveling through - or a good spot to host an event if you're local!

Found this o line during a family vacation. Beautiful flowers, trees and waterfalls as well as a key pond where you can buy food to feed them. Great for the kids. Beautiful garden for weddings and other celebrations. There is no food there so, I would advise to eat before or after.

This place has a nice layout. There's a lot more to see and enjoy than just the trees and flowers. There's waterfalls, a big koi fish pond, statues & art structures, fountains, herb garden, fruit trees, cacti, and berry bushes. The visitor center is also a gift shop. They have nice souvenirs and locally-produced chocolates for sale. Parking is free.

It's not a huge place, but we spent three pleasant hours on a hot day looking at flowers and other plants and trees. The highlight is the Japanese Garden pond and waterfall. We sat on a bench in the shade near the waterfall and just relaxed and watched people walk by, koi in the pond and a heron. Friendly volunteer staff and gardeners, too.

This is a hidden Dubuque treasure!!! Located in an unassuming area of the NW Arterial is a beautifully tended collection of gardens that provide a sense of calm and tranquility. They even have music and food trucks on Sundays.

What a great place to take a stroll, spend some quiet time with family and friends. As a new mom, it was a great place to take my little one that wasn't crowded, we could go at our own pace, and take many photos! The arboretum is managed by over 300 volunteers year round!

This is a beautiful arboretum. We had visited once before in September and most recently in mid-June. June is better, for obvious reasons (early June might be better yet next time we come). The volunteer staff are friendly and informative. The gardens are well maintained and contain a large variety of well-manicured plants and flowers. There are some trails to hike/walk. It is definitely worth a visit (and even a drive—we live 2 hours away).

What a gem of a place! Visiting Dubuque, my husband and I wanted to get outside and enjoy the weather. Found this place on google and it looked like a great spot to get some steps in and enjoy some beautiful scenery. I couldn't believe it was free admission! What a gift to offer your locals and I hope in turn they continue to support and patron this lovely garden. Favorites were the herb garden, hydrangea garden, and the shade garden with all the beautiful hostas. If I lived in the area this would be somewhere I'd frequent often.

Walked the 6 mile Eagle Scout loop this morning. It was well maintained 2-track. The grassy portions were mowed. Mid-August morning and no mosquitoes. Beautiful scenery.

Nice trailhead with maps and signals and there is also a few picnic tables. Parking is enough for about 15 cars or so

Mines of strange? Great place as usual but.....Took my 12 year old son fishing there today and everything was great except the boudoir photo shoot taking place next to us. We were there fishing and this lady and photographer show up and she strips down into a sheer "cat suit" and begins posing provocatively as the photographer tells her to crawl like a cat. Im all about self expression and to each their own but not in front of my 12 year old. Needless to say, we walked away. She later apologized which tells me she knew it was inappropriate...so they could've at least given me a heads up. Never a dull moment in good ol Dubuque.

A Dubuque must-see (more like must-experience) for the nature lovers, fitness-minded, exploratory, history buffs, and the bring the kids, too! Walking trails, barbeque pits, an educational center, canoe launch, decent fishing... All easily accessible. What are you waiting for? Get off your duffs and go see it!

One of my favorite places in Dubuque!! Eagle scout trail rocks!!

Nice place located right next to our hotel. Kinda familiar games with a few of our favorites nesteled in-between some oldies. The bartenders were both friendly and attentive and the drinks were reasonably priced. No big payouts.... however, we played for a long time and didn't lose much either. In the end we came out a little ahead which is more than most can say. We'll return the next time we come through Dubuque and try again.

The concerts they manage to get to the area are somewhat unbelievable. The Q Showroom is an absolutely great venue. I think they only sell 600 tickets, you are up close and personal to the stage from pretty much anyplace in the room. Good food reasonably priced. My only complaint is the restaurant should stay open later so you could eat there after the shows.

Positive: Outdoors concert area is great, and you can bring your own chairs so you don’t have to stand the entire time. It was confusing for a first timer but once we figured out how to get our drink tickets we were having a good time! Negative: It’s a casino with carpet floors, so it smells like cigarettes. You can’t bring your kids to have lunch with grandma at the casino even if they’re accompanied by their parents. It’s the only casino I’ve left without making money- so seems unlucky to me!

I called in advance to check if they had over night truck parking. They said yes as long as they weren’t having an event that night. One of the quietest places I have stayed. Truck parking is on the back side. If you are going to the casino it is a little walk but I did see a shuttle drive around. I would call to verify that because I’m not 100%.

Blares music into the parking lot all night for the benefit of ten cars. Despite this attempt to make sure that no one in the hotel next door is able to sleep the place still looks like the physical embodiment of major depression. Do not recommend.

I would have given five stars, but most of the restaurants were closed. The casino is broken into different sections. It would be nice to separate smokers and non smokers. There's a free drink station with soda, coffee, and tea which was nice. Very clean. Machines aren't too bad hitting payouts. Attached to the Hilton Garden Inn. Nice place.

Lost money at Diamond Jo Casino so we decided to come here. Boy, are we glad we did! The slots were much looser and fun to play. Hats off to the casino for not taking the shortsighted vision that many other casinos do to recoup their losses from Covid. This is the smarter play to have slot machines that actually pay out occasionally because it keeps people gambling rather than becoming dismayed, and quit. The layout of the casino is spacious. We didn’t interact with the staff a lot, but they seemed friendly. The whole area was clean. They had a pretty good variety of slot machines; we didn’t play any table games. This is our new favorite casino when we’re in the area.

I have never met such nice people ! My husband was lucky enough to get a hand pay and they waited on him in good time! I love the girls who wait on us for drinks, and the best part, I lost my husband, and they very graciously helped me find him. You are so lucky to have employees like you have!

For the last several years .The machines seam not to pay out like they did years ago..it's hard to get into the bonus. And when you do. You get very little winnings.. it was alot better when I first started coming . When it was greyhound park casino ... I love the triple diamonds. When you used coins. Now it just takes your money. Because it's been all remodeled. And has many more machines that just eat your $$$. I don't even know why I keep going back. .probably because I get out of the house for me time. And play real slots. At the casino Then on my phone. . Very unsatisfied of the way the machines are built anymore. Just to take people's money. Guess I should stop 🛑 going and let hubby go by himself. . He seems to have better luck. And I'm just wasting the money away. NOT LUCKY 🍀 ANYMORE. .. VERY UNSATISFIED

Fun place went there on the last snow storm day. Had the most fun I have ever had at a casino sat with a friend for two hours and turned 20 Into 250. 11/2023 update, went today and omg place is completely everything is upstairs and construction has start, tonight no friend joining me but turned a 20 in to 1200

First thing you will notice is the smell, stinks of smoke they could to better with the ventilation. Machines are very tight no payouts. Don’t expect to have fun, you will be cut off from drinking if you cheer at the craps table.

The best part of this casino is the bar by the slots. $4 drinks and you get more than most bars would give you. They have a good selection of machines to choose from, I really liked that they had tons of pennie slots. Although this is a smoking casino, most are, it did not smell horribly of smoke, which I appreciated. The service was friendly and fast and the building and grounds were modern, young and clean. I did not eat at the restaurant as it was close and is most of the time due to Covid. There is a hotel attached which looked nice, there is a restaurant attached to that which looked yummy. I will say that the casino is really small and wish there was more “stuff” to do or more restaurants to choose from. They do have a theater as well.

One of the better value casinos I've been to in a long time. They have pretty low limits, cheap drinks, and a friendly staff. Only wished they had a few more tables open when it gets busier

Great place to see a concert. Very small, intimate venue that is easy access. We stayed at the attached Hilton so never having to go outside is a big plus!

It’s a casino. Either your winning or your not. Very nice. I guess I went at a better time because it wasn’t all that busy. I prefer less noisy casinos so it was good for me. I’ll be back.

Pretty nice venue, beer tent lines are a bit long, at least early in the evening. Not nearly enough parking, but luckily, they don’t tag you for parking in a “improper“ kind of parking place… and no you’ll need to be patient if you stay till the end of the show as there’s pretty much only one way out!

This is not a venue I would ever recommend for seeing a show. Zero traffic management, people jumping curbs and parking all over the lawn and places that weren't even parking. Security was a bunch of local elderly folk in t shirts and also be forewarned you will be standing out on a blacktop parking lot fenced off for show. Upside Jelly Roll and crew put on an amazing performance!

All gambling has been .moved upstairs. Anyone with a walker or wheelchair may have difficulty using the ramp. The machines were extremely tight. Have never won here! We will never return. Diamond Jo is far better!!!!!!

There is a decent variety of slots. I find it a tad tight for my liking, and comps are on the low end. I look forward to when they're done with the remodeling.

Had a good night at the casino. It's going for an update. Building is going thru a make over, looks to continue into 2025. Tables and slots. Food was good, service was a little slow, but it was ok to sit for a bit.

We visited the Q for NFL Wild Card weekend. Extremely upset Saturday night to learn that they didn’t have Peacock network for game and had to watch it in room on laptop. For a casino who is big on advertising their great Sportsbook, and are willing to take all your betting money but not shell out $6.99 to watch a game was very disappointing. The casino is condensed due to renovation which made the smoke that much worse than normal.

The casino is a three star casino inside looks wise. The slots are as tight as can be at any casino. The game selection is limited. The promotions are laughably small. But the dealers are decent. All in all not a good place to go more than once

Great perk: free coffee and soft drinks! Not all casinos have that. Also, very engaging and helpful staff. Shout out to the Craps dealers teaching me how to play!

Looks nice but super smokey. Left my clothes smelling and eyes burning. Hopefully with the remodel they add some air filtration. Would keep me there longer.

This is our favorite winery and is always a stop when we visit anywhere close enough to drop in. They are generally pretty busy and today was no exception. It was a super hot afternoon and they were hosting a wedding at their even location located close by. The servers still did their best to accommodate us and we forgave them for the time it took to get our drinks based upon the number of people there. The wine as usual was delicious and affordably priced when we purchased several bottles before leaving.. Many wines to choose from guaranteed to satisfy any palette you may have.

Super friendly staff. Great prices and selection of wines. Food items available as well. Cozy and relaxed environment. Beautiful building.

First time visitors. The ambience and service were great! We stayed inside as it was too cold to go out! I am not a big drinker, but found the Sangria wine to be my favorite! Bottle pricing was great! It was a perfect location- wine for me, beer for the husband, and a menu! The bruschetta wasn't my favorite, but a plentiful snack that we finished. There seemed to be seasoning that tasted more Italian herb vs fresh basil, garlic, and balsamic per the usual. We will definitely go back and recommend fully!

Great food and friendly staff. Did a flight of wine and got a sample of a wine they are bottling today. Bought 3 bottles of it for gifts. Such a unique building and history. Will make this a regular stop. Had the best potatoe salad if my life.

Pop me a star, dude! Really nice bar with a small museum section in the entry hallway about the history of the brewing operations at this historic location. This place has a pleasant, comfortable feel to it, provided by the surroundings and the staff. One suggestion: more coat racks.

Great experience great food, beer and wine. The Hummus platter is outstanding! Almost as good as the Gold Star Ale. Speaking of gold stars, I would like to give one each to Lizzie and Hope they took wonderful care of us.

The staff was fabulous and gave great recommendations for places to see and restaurants and bars to go to. The beer was fantastic and the music and atmosphere was relaxing and enjoyable. Highly recommended!!!

We had a great time enjoying a wine tasting before dinner and sitting out by the water. We also took home a couple bottles of wine.

service was ok. Live music was excellent. Pizza was out of the first two I wanted, third came out burnt to a crisp. wine selection limited and almost all sweet wines which I cannot drink. They did have wine I could drink. just limited in selection.

Went for the beer. Fair imitation of the original Dubuque Star beer that my dad drank. Very tasty appetizers, try the charcuterie and the egg rolls. Nice setting and friendly staff.

Absolutely beautiful cave that is very well preserved. It is a challenge to find a living cave with intact formations. The tour guide is insanely knowledgeable and passionate about his job. Took us about 45 minutes to get through a tour without many questions during. Although, he is more than happy to talk after the tour as well. Got lots of great tips for local spots to check out. People are complaining in the reviews about low clearance. What did you expect? It's a cave, caves are not ADA compliant. Also, $20 is a steal to be allowed access to this federally protected cave system.

This was my second time going. It has really expanded since I went last. Not a lot of gifts left but it was one of the last days, so if you want gifts I would go in the summer when they reopen. The tour guide was great lots of interesting facts about the cave. Didnt give much time to take pics and really look. Would recommend to wear hiking boots just in case there is water, and a hoodie if you get cold easily. It does get tight at times so if you're claustrophobic, it might be a challenge.

Terrific place to go visit on a hot, sweltering day in late July. The tour guide (self described nerd) was one the most engaging and knowledgeable guides that I've had in comparison to other caves we've visited around the country. Beautiful formations, not as grand and magnificent as those I've seen in caves out in SD and other western states but a wonderful surprise to find here in Iowa. The path was mostly paved and level, can't get away from wet floors though. Great little stop and visit just south of Dubuque.

Thank you to our tour guide for a great cave tour! We came to see the unique geology of the area and were not disappointed! I've toured a few caves in Iowa and this one has the best geologic features. The cave also has a nice gift shop. Definitely recommend to any other geology clubs looking to see the geology of Iowa!

Amazing Cave!! Must see!! Awesome tour guide, Andy! About an hour tour, educational. Have to walk up and down stairs, narrow pathways, but it is an easy walk. Not ADA accessible due to the nature of caves. $20/adult. Website has accurate information on tour times. Worth every penny and mile to drive there!

I've been to many caves and caverns and it was worth the visit. I did enjoy it but I do think the group size is kinda large. I understand wanting to squeeze as many as possible for profit however it does make for an uncomfortable tour. Also since we are still in covid time and they are not using mask requirements it was way to many people in one group in an area we are all huddle into.

A fun cave tour that takes around 45 minutes. The kids really enjoyed looking at all the crystal formations as well as panning for gems. Some areas of the tunnels are narrow with low ceilings. You will need to feel comfortable walking sideways and stooped at times. The tour guide made the tour fun and informative as well.

This cave was fantastic and I'll be back again. The guide was wonderful and the cave is beautiful.

The place a great the people super friendly and nice.. the lady inside the shop was super nice and let my daughter use a sweater cause it's little chilly in the cave.. Andy our tour guide was the best very informative and fun and interactive with kids and adults. Couldn't have asked for a better tour..

I liked the guide who explained everything in detail and interestingly. It was interesting to see the mine from the inside. A wonderful store with many varieties of natural minerals.

Not sure I would call this place Crystal Lake Cave as there is no lake in the cave. It's just a big puddle. I feel the cost of $20 bucks is a bit over priced. We were at the back of our group and everything the tour guide pointed out we never got to see what the guide was showing or explaining. We had maybe 15 people. I feel they need to lower the amount of people for each tour and offer more of them. This was you can see what the guide is showing you. There are some small passageways and low clearance parts. So watch you head and leave your purse in the car. Parking is where ever you can find it as there is no true parking lot.

It was absolutely amazing. We learned a lot about the crystals. Definitely a must go to place. My child enjoyed the tour as well. The staff we so friendly.

Stayed around the Main Streets of galena. Decided to give this activity a try. Took about 15 minutes for the next tour to start. And the tour takes about 1 hour very cool inside you won’t be disappointed. I would advise to wear hiking boots or shoes you don’t mind getting dirty/wet. We had a young lady doing the tour for us. She was very knowledgeable. Best to call and ask when the next tour will start so you won’t have to wait that long there. It’s 20 dollars per adult. And bring a flash light too. The temperature nice and chilly down there too. Had a blast. I would do it again. The pictures don’t do any justice better to see it in person you won’t be disappointed!

We really enjoyed this cave tour! We’ve been to multiple different caves in different states and this is one we would recommend. It wasn’t too far from downtown, there’s a small parking lot otherwise the cars line the gravel road entrance. There were outdoor bathrooms and a few picnic tables. It was $20 per adult for the tour. We went on the weekend and had to wait for 1 group to go ahead us so it was about a 30 min wait. The tour was about an hour and we were in a group of 19. Our guide Stephanie was great she was nice, very informative and talked loudly. She also really included the kids in the group. There are about 30 steps you have to do to get in and out of the cave which wasn’t bad at all compared to some we have been to. Some walkways can be pretty narrow and low where you have to duck to not hit your head. The caves were wet when we went and had a few puddles so I would recommend tennis shoes and a sweatshirt since it’s 52 degrees. There were the most crystal formations we’ve seen, a few new formations or special to this cave, and tons of stalagmites and stalactites! There is the crystal lake body of water down there which is cool and they have nicknames for a lot of the formations. The gift shop had the typical souvenirs you would normally see.

We had a fun time at Grand Harbor Resort and Waterpark. The rooms was not as clean as I thought they would be. Crumbs in the chair and sleeper sofa. Everything seemed to be a little dated. Two elevators for all the floors made breakfast and checkout a nightmare. Most of the arcade games was out of service. The gym area was nice, clean and sanitized. The children's activity area was also a nice place for the kids to play games and do activities.

Took our 3 grandchildren there for the weekend. During reservations, they told my son we could check in at 12:00. We got there, with 3 young children at 12:00, was told we couldn’t check in until 2. Went to nearby restaurant until 2. Went back and was told we couldn’t check in until 4! Found ONE friendly person in the whole place, that was the lady at the gift desk. Everyone else needs classes on customer communication. Especially the check in lady with braids, very unfriendly. Even the man in the arcade was nasty. If you hate dealing with people, that’s probably not a good job for you. We rented 2 rooms and spent a great deal of money, would expect, at least, mutual respect. They need one more set of elevators, or even 2 sets. The employees should understand that the people staying there are how they get paid, and should make every effort to assure they enjoy their visit. I’m sure dealing with people and children all day can be trying, but that is the job they chose. Maybe you might think our personalities just clashed, but while in line, we watched them treat every person the same way we were treated.

I would like to preface this review by saying that we live in Northern IL so we do most of our waterpark stays at The Wilderness in the Wisconsin Dells. Perhaps our expectations were set too high. We arrived at the hotel and were checked in by a woman who seemed to just be going through the motions. She was not overly nice, but not rude either. We got to our room to find macaroni and potatoe salad, among other things, in the refrigerator which was turned so that it was not cold. You can imagine that smell. We walk into the bathroom and the toilet had pee all over it and there was hair in the bathtub. My husband went down to speak with someone and they did put us in a different room, but he said she was not overly apologetic and seemed annoyed. We get to our new room which was cleaner, however, we did find a half-eaten oreo under the desk and garbage and batteries behind the nightstand. The beds seemed to be clean and I will say the pillows were comfortable. The room was extremely basic with the bare minimum and very dated artwork. One lamp didn't work. The sink didnt drain. There was no pressure in the shower. It took 5 minutes to get hot water out of the faucet. The waterpark was decent. The water was warm enough and appeared to be clean. One pool was roped off. The structures were rusty and appeared old and needing updating. The lifeguards seemed like they'd rather be anywhere else and did not appear to be attentive at all. Also, I don't feel there was enough of them. There is a snack shack in the waterpark but it only accepts cash. Not sure how many people bring cash down to the pool with them, but we certainly don't. That was frustrating. Overall, I would never stay here again and would tell anyone I know to avoid it.

Grand Harbor is a wonderful place to visit. The rooms were a little dated, but our 3 yr old loved the pool! Great time for families. I recommend booking and making a memory today.

My husband and I used Grand Harbor to book the room block for our wedding. Initially getting ahold of them and working with them to get the room block set was very easy. My husband got everything in order, and was told the contract would be emailed the next day once they were able to finalize everything. The next day we did not receive an email. We didn't worry and decided to give it until the end of the week. When we didn't have it we decided to call the following Monday. My husband left a message, and never got a call back. He continued to call multiple times during the coming 6 weeks, and still did not get a response. We went in person to ask about the contract. The woman we talked to was rude, and cut us off multiple times while we were talking. We were told the woman we needed to talk to would be in at 2 the next day and would call us back. Around 4 that day my fiance called back, left a message and never got a call back. I had vented to my aunt about my frustrations, and she offered to call. It took her a total of 3 days to get a response, work out the specifics of the block, finalize the contract, and receive it in her email. She was told Grand Harbor was unable to send the contract to either of our emails. They did have our phone numbers, and never contacted either of us to relay this information. When we returned our contract and guests were able to book a room my mom called to book hers. She was given a total cost that was $10 more than our rate in the contract. I called them to ask about the price and make sure we had the correct info to tell our guests, and I also planned to book our room at this time also. I felt the woman I talked to at this point was rude also. After asking about the price of the room block and not getting an answer (which I understand is not necessarily her fault as all rooms were in the block at $10 more than the agreed upon price) she hung up on me without asking if she could help with anything else or saying goodbye. I then reached out to them on their website about the service I had received up to this point. Their website said someone would contact me within 2 business days, which never happened. They must have received the email though, because the prices on the rooms changed to reflect the contracted price. As for the actual stay, it went great. The guy who checked us in was incredibly polite and accommodating. The rooms were clean and the perfect amount of space.

overall the experience was just okay. could have been better but could have been worse. so here are the pros and cons I came up with pro: - cheaper than some other water parks especially during spring break - rooms were spacious with mini fridge and the ac/ heat worked well - people at front desk friendly - cool arcade area - room service was very fast (needed more towels and a bedding change from a toddler accident) - continental breakfast was great! good set up and food. staff was constantly replenishing - can get 2 day pass tickets for discounted rate for the River Museum and Aquarium when booking hotel room and it was well worth the price and in walking distance (so much fun!) cons: - not enough elevators- especially during the check in/out times and same ones were used for services for the hotel so even more crowded with carts - water park very rusty and floors very rough at bottom of pools - life guards acted like they hated their jobs and were annoyed by people - told not to use the hotel room towels at the pool but the towels were empty at the pool so we had no towels -had a hotel room listed for 4 people but only 2 towels provided for showering - room was not thoroughly cleaned - used shower gel and soap (with hair on it) was left in the shower and the sink soap tray had soap residue all over it with newly wrapped soap on top of it (just not cleaned well) - hole in the bottom corner of the hotel room door - big enough to see in and out of the room (and a big crack in the door - rm 330)

I only had two days availability so what better way to enjoy it than taking a short road trip (700 miles round trip) and a dip in a family friendly Waterpark? The hotel staff were friendly, we saved a bunch by going here instead of Great Wolf Lodge and have nothing but great things to say of the staff, their attentiveness and the attractions in the area. My only qualm is that the continental breakfast was somewhat lacking. It would have been nice to have a choice including waffles, muffins, pastries and fruit other than apples and oranges. Otherwise a fantastic stay.

This was an extremely disappointing overnight stay. Should have been prepared when we viewed the door to our room, which appeared to have been kicked in at some point. There was no safety lock on the door. The room was very dated and drab, no night stand on the left hand side, the coffee table was dented and scarred, we had outlets that did not function, no USB ports. The curtains were dirty looking and the windows were filthy. The in room coffee was little more than colored water. For the weekend price, I will stay at the Julien next time I visit Dubuque. Of note, the staff was pleasant and helpful.

River view is nice, staff was friendly, hotel was overall clean. However maintenance and updates are very much lacking, room furniture has “wear and tear” and water park is quite neglected. Great hotel concept overall with waterpark, restaurant, and river walk.

My kids really enjoyed the hotel!! The most amazing staff!! Pros: - kids zone that the really liked going to when they were over swimming - arcade - multiple slides and pool area was really nice - awesome life guards!! Make sure kids are behaving - close to everything around (museum is a 7 min walk and you pay for 2day pass) - restaurant in hotel Cons: - only 2 elevators, checkout I waited for the 3 time for the elevator before there was space, I was on the 3rd floor - lots of damage done to the walls, holes in drywall - second night had a high ringing noice coming from the bathroom, kept me up until 12:00, front desk had maintenance come but it start and stop ( biggest reason for the 3 stars) because I woke up exhausted and then had to drive 4 hr

This place was clean but definitely needs some upkeep. Our couch was torn on the arm and the cushions were flattened. Stain on the counter by the microwave, a lot of worn wood on desk and coffee table. When we got in our room the faucet in the tub was dripping and the stopper was closed so the tub had a couple of inches of water standing in the tub. They must have put new keypads on the doors so the safety latch was non existent so no safety in our room. The luggage trolleys were falling apart.

Rooms was not up to part. Dirty sheets and tub was not cleaned. No hot water. Rooms definitely too hot. Water park great for kids. Breakfast was the best part. I would say from rooms and water park, that the staff are lazy but them two breakfast peoples are amazing. Especially the young lady. She’s a hard worker and is dedicated to her job. I don’t know how one person can keep the breakfast area cleaned and stock how she was doing. If I was you guys, I’ll put her in housekeeping. If she can maintain over a hundred peoples. I know she will clean the hell out of some room. I don’t know her name but kudos to you girlfriend!

First visit to Grand Harbor Resort and Water Park. Location by Mississippi River. We were with our daughter, her husband and 2 granddaughters.They had a great time at the water park. Very fun place for young kids and adults as well. Fun water slides and climbing stations with water dumping from a giant bucket. The slide tunnel was pitch dark and fast. The park staff were very happy to answer you're questions. Safety was their top priority as they made sure there was no running and had a watchful eye on the water as well for any trouble. Nice rooms and great breakfast. Fun time.

Overall a pretty good place to take the kiddos. Been to umpteen birthday parties in the water park area and the kids always seem to have a great time!!! They have a huge play structure that is good for little kids that are non-swimmers that has a giant bucket of water that dumps over everything every couple of minutes. It is also a heck of a lot warmer in the pool area than a few years ago, so it’s a good place in the winter too!

Overpriced. Good location, fun water park of you have time. Rooms equal to a Days inn/holiday inn which would be half the price. No bathroom fan. Thin cheap, old blankets. Terrible coffee. No flavored coffee creamers. Expensive.

Excellent location, the rooms were pretty clean but had a little wear and tear. The location is excellent. Right next to the museum (a great stop) and away from the business yet close enough to walk all around historic downtown. A great river view as well!

Called in the morning of check in to see if we could check in early, was told to call back between 12-1. Called back, was told to call back at 2. Called back and as she was pulling up my name started to say it’s ready, but quickly changed to “your room is still not ready”! As of now, this will probably be the Last & Only time we’ll use this hotel!! After reading other reviews, normal check in is at 4 and water activities stop at 7 on a Sunday! What a complete rip off if that’s the case!! It’s 2:30 and we’re still sitting in the parking lot watching multiple others that have taken suitcases in and not came back out!

Took a spur of the moment trip with our 2 girls, 4 and 6. Big breakfast area with decent selection, fun pool area with cheap drinks, and rooms were cheap too compared to other places with a waterpark! Staff in the waterpark area were great! We will do this again.

Great indoor waterpark close to home. Nice layout that allows you to keep an eye on the kids. Big hot tub for relaxing parents. Water temperatures all around are very pleasant. Not a huge Waterpark, but big enough to keep the kids entertained. Rooms are nothing fancy, but have all the necessities and are clean.

Our bed spreads were dirty as soon as we checked in. All desk people was just to busy to talk to you and some acted Like they didn't want to hear it. Our lamps in room kept going off on their own and wouldn't turn back on and the chair seat ( omg)... When checked out lady was on phone said just leave key amd complaint card with her then said that's all she need now have a nice day . But the Waterpark was good except lockers kept freezing up that I always had to get help to get in it but Waterpark was good and some area water was nice and warm . To many outside people tho not really enough room for people from hotel itself.

This place is definitely showing its age. The elevators are slow for the volume of guests, and there are no central emergency stairs. The water park was nice but obviously there's a lot of rust in places. The room was ok. The shower was terrible. Most of the water was going out of the diverter, so there was no pressure. The water only came out of the head about a foot, so you had to stand right under it. Even after i complained, nothing happened.

Hotel is a bit run down, and the staff wasn’t the friendliest. We paid for an upgraded room, and got one with a view of the roof. We were told rooms were assigned in the morning, and even though the hotel was 1/3 full, we couldn’t switch. Waterpark closed at 4, which we knew, but didn’t open back up for three days. Possibly for maintenance, but nobody said why. Maybe the waterpark would have changed our minds, but we wouldn’t recommend this hotel. The only really positive thing that happened was the bartender recommending an awesome place called Backpocket. It was an old school brewery/arcade, and we had a blast there. It was only a few minutes from the hotel. His recommendation was the saving grace of the night, so kudos to him! For the money, I would choose a different hotel next time.

We (wife, 2 children, and me) stayed here during our winter break. I'm kind of surprised when looking at some of the reviews that this place sits at a 3.8 to 3.9. We really enjoyed it. It was very reasonably priced each night. The water park isn't massive but it's all you really need if you have younger children (our 6 year old had fun). If you like Wis Dells (we like Great Wolfe Lodge) this water park is smaller --> it has a "water jungle gym", kiddie pool area, 2 body slides, 1 tube slide, lazy river, 2 hot tubs, and a pool. It was busy but I never felt uncomfortable with too many people. The resort offers free breakfast but that's a "madhouse" down there each morning so you might be best off sending a family member down really early (when it opens) to get food for the family & eat in the room. Additionally, the room we had was completely fine --> room was clean, good sleeping accommodations. The only complaint(s) I would have are --> the WiFi is trash (I just used my mobile hot spot on my phone) & for whatever reason local fox (I wanted to watch a bowl game) wasn't actually on the list of TV channels. Additionally, if you're in to some gambling, Diamond Jo Casino is right across the street. I popped in there each morning to place some wagers which was a nice bonus as well. We also went to the National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium --> it's right down the street. That too was good. Lastly, we went to 7 hills brewing company for beer/dinner (great food and good beer) and Dimensional Brewing (fun beer types and good food). We will be back here next year --> it's a perfect middle point for our family and our family members that live in Minnesota

We just spent the last 3 days at Grand Harbor Resort for Special Olympics Iowa Winter Games and it was the absolute best time. The staff was all amazing, catering to all our needs, going above and beyond daily. The rooms were warm and cozy, and extra clean. We will definitely be back as a family.

My family came to swim over the weekend. We were very shocked at how bad the waterpark had gone downhill. First, we were immediately overwhelmed with how strong the chlorine was. The hot tubs were the worst. Our eyes hurt so bad by the end of our visit. My daughter even had severe chlorine rash on her thighs later in the day. Secondly, I'm surprised no one has severely hurt themselves on the playground and / or surrounding areas on the playground. The amount of rust is just so bad. Some water features have been duct taped closed. The pool bottoms are all very rough and cut up our legs and feet. The bathrooms were very cold. BUT the showers were clean, had nice pressure, and were warm! The check-in lady was very nice and the kids had a good time. They don't see the things like we do. I just wish they'd take the time to do some maintenance. Re-doing or replacing the playground part would be the biggest upgrade.

Not great. This place has unfortunately gone downhill and needs some major TLC. Our room wasn’t the best. The secondary lock was busted off of our door. No way to stop the door from being opened. The waterpark is in desperate need of maintenance. Both of our kids ended up with reactions on their skin from the amount of chemicals in the water. The breakfast was not great and the situation with the elevators is bad. We ended up using the maintaince stairway, which stunk, to leave the hotel. And don’t waste your money in the arcade. I don’t think I would go back and I wouldn’t recommend staying here. I give it a 4/10.

My family and I had a great time at this winery. It has the most stunning views from all levels of the building and property. But the best view is all the way at the top looking out over the valley. They have great wines that will please any palette from very dry to very sweet. They have wine flights and great pizzas to compliment.

Fantastic red wines and an excellent 06 Frontenac!! Pizza is so tasty and fresh. Bring to your attention the bird droppings all over the back deck and tables. Power washer in the morning will do the trick. Thank you Charles

We were in the area for a fall leaf "tour." I think we were about a week early as there was still quite a bit of green. We got a couple of flights for tasting - Nothing really stood out for us, but wines were good. We'll have to plan on coming back to try some more. We got the carnivore pizza and the Margherita. Both were excellent! Wish they delivered!

Who knew a winery would have such great pizza! Wood fired and tasty . Crust was crisp but chewy. The views here are amazing and the wine was great , we bought several bottles to take home. If we are in the area we will be back for sure . Great date spot as well !

Park Farm Winery is a hidden gem found in the beautiful countryside 10 miles outside of Dubuque. Kristen, greeted us with a smile and bubbling personality. We enjoyed wine tasting in the main dining room on the first floor which was welcoming and beautifully decorated. We were then escorted up to the third floor where a room for about 10 to 12 people awaited us. The view of the vineyard was spectacular with the rolling hills bustling up to Farm land. The "wood fired" Pizzas were delicious along with the wine. I will be back for some delicious wine, food, and music this summer. Highly recommend checking this gem out!

Very nice winery set in a beautiful location just outside of Doubouqe. Really enjoyed the drive and scenery on the drive there. Huge outdoor and indoor seating areas. Really enjoyed our pizza and wine tasting. Loved their sweet reds and fruit wines. Would suggest a larger tasting area. I felt rushed and the staff looked overwhelmed. People who were already seated came to the tasting area for beverages and it gets really crowded. Otherwise a great spot!

Great vineyard with restaurant venue for small parties, wedding and get together. Food was tasty, venue is clean and neat and restrooms were clean. Food pictures included are there coal-fired pizza special. Plenty of great views and friendly staff. Definitely recommend.

What a special spot overlooking a peaceful Iowa river valley. We're here at the first of October as the fall colors are starting to come in. Positively beautiful. The wines and fire grilled pizzas are a wonderful blend to sit out on the back deck and take in the scenery.

The best United Methodist Church in Dubuque, in my opinion. The Tiffany Window tours are an attraction, if you're vacationing in Dubuque. A very welcoming church if you just want to visit, or if you want to attend service some Sunday. I'm not a member of this church, but I have visited.

Beautiful stain glass windows.

The congregation is welcoming, and the church does a great job at working to include various ages in their worship. They’ve done a free community meal for several years every Saturday evening, which a large group of community members depend upon for food security. The building is also historic and the Tiffany Glass windows are amazing to see in person. (Note: There is an elevator in the back of the building, but staff need to be contacted to operate it.)

This church is exceptionally beautiful. The Tiffany Stained glass windows are beyond Gorgeous. A must stop.

Beyond beautiful. The windows/door panels are a must see. The narration provided related to the history of the glass was wonderful and so in-depth in the rich history of Tiffany and his work. A true highlight to our Mississippi cruise on the Riverboat Twilight with JAG Mororcoach tour. Wonderful package.

So I only went there as a tourist to see the stained glass windows, and they are beautiful. They had a guide to tell everyone about their history, and we even got to hear the organ. Wonderful experience.

Very very short walk for an amazing view! Family friendly for all ages. To get to the best spot for photos is a few steps downhill. But this is at the very end of the walk and can be avoided.

Great viewpoint. From here you can see a beautiful panorama of the Mississippi River. In addition to the views, you can also admire wild animals and birds.

Loved the walk down to the river, it was a nice little hike, some cool history, and a beautiful place to stop. I'm glad we decided to stop here on our travels!

There are some really great views of the Mississippi from here. You can park at the lower parking area and walk up (20-30 mins with stops) OR you can park at the upper area and have a very short walk of only about a few minutes. If you park at the upper area I *believe* it is an accessible path to the tower and lookout. There is a picnic area off to the side. You'll of course see incredible views of the Mississippi. There are a couple of those things you can look through that are free of charge. This is definitely a worthwhile stop.

The Dubuque Monument was great to see. Loved the history with scenic views of the Mississippi River and Dubuque. I hiked from the nature center (1.5 miles one way) and was beautiful. You can also drive up close to the Monument and there is plenty of parking available.

Great views of the Mississippi and Dubuque. Be sure to check out the many hiking trails in the park. Many of them are spectacular.

As a place listed on the National Register of Historic places, we dropped by when we crossed the Mississippi to Iowa. We visited the monument where lies resting place of the city’s earliest settler. The overlook was the most beautiful sight, very serene! It wasn’t very crowded and it was interesting to read the history behind the place!

Great experience I love nature and Mines of Spain is just gorgeous...we all got bite by insects and spiders but that's okay,I just feel like snow white sometimes because I can be closer to deer's squirrels and bunnies, 😁

A beautiful view overlooking the Mississippi River and Mines of Spain park just west of Dubuque. A simple stop off the highway with great hiking a magical forest and wonderfully quiet. Perfect for families.

The service was excellent! The prices were great! Breadsticks were delicious. Pizza was delicious, but I wasn't a big fan of the cheese.

Had been hiking all afternoon at The Mines of Spain area and hunger called. A quick search for nearby option and I was disappointed to see so many Nation brand Fast Food franchises. Shot Tower Inn popped in while scrolling and it was close. Amazing wait staff!!! Can't say enough about how social and friendly they were and generally happy we arrived. Hand made pizza is a main specialty and it was pretty good and not much of a wait. They also serve black Angus burgers and a few other "starters" and salads... Nice place, $$, plenty of parking and seating.

This place was recommended by somebody at the dog show I was coming from. I pass through Dubuque frequently, so I thought I would stop this trip. I was super disappointed in the Pizza. It was...dry. The crust was fine, it hardly had any sauce, it had a little bit of cheese, and the sausage look like it was precooked and sprinkled on top. Every time I tried to take a bite it would just fall off all over the place. I'm still picking it out of my vehicle. Looks like it had great atmosphere.

Their pizza was alright, good price. But the fried ice cream was incredible. Well worth the stop. Our server was friendly and amazing as well. There was also a lot of stuff on the walls and shelves the was interesting to look at.

I cant believe I was served this. This chicken.. if it was chicken.. was hard and rubber like. The entire salad contained this chicken like substance?? We will be tossing this and our extremely salty soup. It was completely unedible. Very dissapointing. Waste of money and hopes 😒 Will be boycotting this place.

The food was not great. Tried the nachos with chicken and the meatball sub. Never again. The meat in the sub definitely wasn't in a ball, more like meat mush. The worst part was getting charged $5.14 for a fountain pop. Really??? I should have just had a beer, but I'm sure that would have been overpriced, too.

We decided to eat there for the pizza. Good crust and flavor but canned mushrooms rather than fresh. Pretty decent overall and fair menu prices. We received the bill and got surprised by the now famous "credit card fee" It was NOT posted on their door. I emailed the manager. He promised to refund it and NEVER followed through on his promise! Raise your price if you can not afford credit cards as this is the way most people pay. Go out of business if you can not afford to take the forms of payment people use. Corporate places do not pull this trick. It leaves a sour taste and memory of the experience. Enjoy your couple bucks of "fees" at the expense of losing repeat customers!

I use to give this place a 5 star rating had my baby shower here 16 years ago... haven't had it in a while thought it would be a nice change up... I ordered my favorite the spaghetti.. it was super bland , the mushrooms looked like they took a can and just dumped them on didn't even warm them and there was no sauce more tomato paste with hamburger ... the only thing that had flavor was the meatball... my husband sandwhich also bland taste like the meat you would use on an open face sandwich with no flavor. Very disappointed for the price I paid.

I’m not from Dubuque so I don’t know where STI sits in the realm of pizza joints in town. It’s been around awhile so I thought I’d give it a try. I’m also familiar with Shakeys Pizza and heard it was similar here or maybe the same recipe or something. First thing I noticed is how dated the place is. I like old school but in the restaurant biz a little spruce up from time to time can make the food seem better. Or maybe the dark wood and hard to see lighting is on purpose😳. You have to do some studying before you seat yourself as the place is layed out with areas that have a server and areas that don’t. I had to return to this sign twice to get my bearings straight. In my experiences places that have quirky guidelines tend to have issues in different aspects of their business. After locating a table a server dropped of a lunch menu and returned so after for my order. Small 2 topping pizza and a soda. All though busy for lunch my server was exceptional and did everything with genuine friendliness…..I think? Within five minutes my pizza arrived. How did they do that as their was no brick oven I noticed. The pizza was ok for being flashed cooked. Not hot nor cold just hanging in the lukewarm range. Toppings were good but the beef had that look that it was sprinkled on late on the process. The crust did have that Shakeys unique taste and feel. The sauce was sweet and my mind wandered to fast food pizza to P Hut, L Caesar’s or Chuck e Cheese. I’d maybe come back but their just wasn’t anything that stood out to keep from just trying somewhere else. My score card: Service A Food B- Ambience C

We had a pretty positive experience, staff is friendly, food was really, place was clean and decor was inviting. Wings an pizza were both very tasty and hot. Crust is different from what I’ve had before but I liked it. Wife had the fish sandwich and she liked it. Nice job!

Beautiful and peaceful, and must-do in Dubuque. Lovely art, great views of the shot tower and the river, obviously, with little beaches to stand right at the riverfront (no wading or swimming allowed but we had a good play). Vultures flying around when we were there which added to the atmosphere! Stone Creek Winery at the end of the walk and a highlight for us.

A great place for a short walk most times of the year!! It is beautifully done with nice pavings, plants, and great views of the river!!! You also can get great views of the Julien Dubuque Bridge and the train bridge to Illinois! If you’re lucky you can see them turn the train bridge for passing barges! The walk also has many outdoor sculptures that change out every year or so.

Loved this place! The art on the walk trails are beautiful. Best of all was how pet friendly they were and having a glass of wine at Stone Cliff Winery with my Sampson and his new paw friend.

Great place to spend some time sightseeing with great views of the Mississippi River.

Very peaceful and calming. There are benches along the path to sit, relax and watch the activity on the river. Low impact, non stressful walking path along the river.

I've been coming here for years. There's always art along the route and they change the art to keep it looking fresh in my opinion. It's a great place to walk and release the stress of everyday life. Most of the timepeople are nice and quiet unless theres a wedding but they are still nice, there are some people who mess around and sometimes they use drugs (mostly marijuana) but that's normally on the north side past the train tracks. Whenever I come to town I'll stop here for sure. If your into Pokémon Go there are a bunch of gyms and stops.
