Really nice waterfall view from the top, there are many signs indicating not to hike down as it is very dangerous conditions and steep. Speaking to a local merchant there he had mentioned that just last week someone had passed away slipping while trying to climb down. I had looked up some news articles and it indeed did happen. Please be careful! An amazing picture isn't worth your life especially if you don't make it to share it...

Nice sized falls compared to the ones on oahu where I live-but basically you just drive up on the ridge and there is no parking lot just a turn around area to park at and have to view from far away on the road.. but still happy we went to see it! 🥰🩵🤍 was very pretty !

This was a more difficult hike for some. Still worth it. Definitely swim in the water then hike to the left to walk behind the falls.

Beautiful views. Roads are a tight wind down, especially as you get closer to the falls so drive slowly/carefully. The parking lot is small so there can be a wait if there are many people. We only had to wait about two minutes to park and had no issues with leaving. Worth it for the view if you’re in the area.

The parking is not big, so I recommend go early. If you go just for the view, it's okey, if you go down to the fall, that's amazing. There are signs not to go down, but if you want, there is a trail before the view point. That trail separates in two, the left one is easier. Both are tough, wet and slippery, with ropes to go down and up.

DO NOT HIKE HERE. The trails are closed for a reason. Flash floods and landslides are common and many people have died trying. It's not worth it when there are safer waterfalls to hike to. Please listen and respect the local people and government. It's pretty to view from the top and a $1000 fine if you hike

Probably the best view on the island. Hiked it early on a Sunday morning and had the entire falls to ourselves. Parking is available at the beginning of the hike. Just drive to the falls like google maps suggests. You get a decent view from the road looking down which is tagged to my post. If you’re a little more adventurous and want to hike down to the actual falls here’s what to do: start by looking at the beautiful falls. That beautiful rock wall in front of you… jump over it. There is a trail on the other side. Turn right and walk away from the falls until you find a chain link fence. People used to crawl under this but they’ve closed it recently. Once you reach the fence, keep going along the fence until you reach a little drain area (maybe 10m). This is where people used to go under the fence. Follow the drain down and you should see a path and some ropes. Once you start it’s a very short hike down. 15-20 minutes. You can’t get lost. WARNING: it’s very steep. Use the right shoes and be careful. Take it SLOW. It’s so short you don’t need to rush. I slipped and cut my leg pretty deep and it definitely tainted the experience. Highly recommend but be careful! Enjoy!

Absolutely beautiful fall wow!!! Right off the road and you’ll need to bypass the fence and climb down to the bottom. It’s a literal climb down so take your time and be patient. The views and the swimming at the bottom are totally worth it 👍👍’s @nothin_but_views

Wasn’t in its prettiest state, but it was one whole fall and it was pretty dirty. I still enjoyed watching it. The scenery totally makes up for it.

Easy to get there but parking is minimal if busy which it wasn't that day. The trail to walk down was closed but still amazing views of the duel water falls from above. Worth the quick drive for awesome views.

Parking is tight. But the good news is you are likely to spend about 10 minutes or less looking at the waterfall. Didn’t see any official trail to get closer and/or better views. Snap a few photos and move on.

While visiting Kauai my son and wife did not want to do any long hikes to look at waterfalls, we decided to go take a look at this one. Very easy to get to. The view of the falls is somewhat limited if you stay in the observation area. Parking was easy and quick

We squeezed this absolutely beautiful waterfall in during the very last minutes of our vacation, right before heading to the airport to turn in our rental vehicle and check in for our flight. We were both very glad that we did even though it was getting dark quickly, and the road was very narrow with lots of sharp curves.

Underwhelming. Access to the bottom is fenced off. There isn't much to do. 5 minutes stop is more than enough.

Falls are pretty, but there are no trails to walk up to the falls. Just drive-up, get out of the car, and head back.

Wonderful experience! We took our two year old and four year old so we wanted something that was going to keep them entertained and wasn't too long or too short! Rick was great! He was very informative about the plantation, island, and added humor into the tour for the adults! He was interactive with the guests and made the tour feel like you were just on a little trip with a good friend telling you about the area. You could tell He genuinely cares for the animals, especially April! The kids loved feeding the animals and got to try a fresh orange!

A fun tour of the plantation and all of the fruits grown. It was interesting to see and hear how they manage their passel of hogs. People had fun feeding the hogs tortillas and carrots for the horses. The train has been lovingly restored and has beautiful paneling inside.

Open air cars that are pulled with a diesel-electric engine through farm and livestock areas of the plantation. Comfortable seating on the train. The conductor describes everything you pass by as he feeds the livestock with tortillas. Restaurant, candy store, clothing, and artwork are available in the plantation house. A great location on Kauai to visit that dosen't take all day. Very family friendly and fun for all.

If you have a good all terrain stroller I would bring it with you it makes the trip easier with small kiddos. Went with my 2yo and 4 1/2 yo and Highly recommend. Kai (hope I’m spelling correctly) was super knowledgeable. The 4 hours went fast and the lunch was the best salad I have had on island. Loved everything about it.

This was a great learning activity if you want to get to know the island of Kauai, its history and the flora and fauna. The tour train is also a fun treat for kids and adults alike. I recommend taking this trip at the beginning of your vacation, as it may inspire your luau experiences and other fun things to do on the island.

What a fun experience and great tour guide and engineer! We loved to feed the animals and hear about the crops grown on the plantation. Loved hearing the history and current use of the plantation! Would really have loved for the old mansion to be a tour and not a variety of gift shops, but at least they identified each room as what it had been at the time it was used as a home. It was stunning and spacious and I can only imagine how luxurious it was when it was a family home.

Awesome tour. Highly recommended. Kai was our guide for the 3.5 hour tour! He was very knowledgeable and friendly. Bring a bag with you on this tour, depending on the season, you get to sample all different varieties of fruits and take some with you as well! Lunch was great, we chose two different things so we could share. Fresh catch sandwich was awesome. If you come to Kauai definitely add this to you to do list. Priced very good with everything you get on this trip! Mahalo Kai!!

A fun and scenic tour around a plantation. The guide was friendly and very well informed, the train was rustic, but comfortable. Excellent thing to do with children. They also have a very nice dining establishment and some great drinks for adults and children.

Highly recommend this for solo travelers, couples, families with kids and anybody! We did the train ride with nature walk that entails sampling fruits on the farm, petting animals, guided by a tour guide (Kai was AWESOME!!!), learning a bit about history, and a delicious lunch all included! I have to say our tour guide Kai elevated this tour. Probably one of the best tour guides ever - he was enterprising, interesting, knowledgable, well-spoken and shared lot of beautiful tidbits about the magical land we were in. We got to taste Lychees, Oranges, Oranges, Coconuts, Pineapples, sugarcanes in the farm. Bit disappointed some fruits were out of season so we couldn't sample all fruits. The walk through the farm is 2.5-3mi and can be a bit exhausting so stay hydrated and eat lot of fruits from the farm. The train ride is fun - you get to see the beautiful plantation. This tour includes lunch from their local restaurant (Gaylord) and is fresh/delicious. Overall a great way spend half a day!

Lots of parking catching the first train ride of the day. They should make it obvious that you have to go inside to get a paper ticket for your reservation. 40 minutes went by quickly and it gets really crowded for the size of the small gift shop. Tour guide was decent with the history and dad jokes. We might have missed if they sold the fruit that they grow on site.

The train ride at the plantation was an amazing experience for my family. We did the train ride with lunch and a plantation hike. Our guide Paul was amazing and very knowledgeable about the island. He was as entertaining as he was knowledgeable! His island stories were the best. It's a great experience that kauai has to offer. Take advantage of it!

We booked 3 separate excursions and this was by far my favorite. I recommend doing the nature walk tour with train ride. Well worth it. Kai was our guide. Super knowledgeable and friendly. I recommend going towards the beginning of your trip rather than the tail end as they let you pick fruit to take home. And I tell ya the fruit is delicious!!!!

Sugar cane plantation home, restaurant, gift shops, and train ride. We visited this quaint train ride location in Kauai. Enjoyed the beautiful grounds, historical background, and 45-minute train ride around the Wilcox family planation. Plenty of parking out front and gift shop was fun to browse in. Train ride took you around the perimeter of the planation, and the conductor spoke about the history of the land, the current crops they grow now, and the animals they raise. We stopped for about 10 minutes to feed the horses, goats, and pigs. This was an enjoyable activity for our rainy day excursions. Ticket prices were reasonable, Adults, Children, Seniors, and Military. Restrooms and ATM on site also.

Cute train ride, a Good narrative about the ranch but no more pineapples, no more sugarcane, it sounds like they're trying to find a viable crop to raise but it's mostly agri-tourism.

We had so much fun on the Plantation Railway! Even the guys in our group enjoyed it (we originally planned that just the girls would go, but the guys joined us & they were glad they did). The conductor & narrator were both very friendly and fun. It was very interesting hearing about the different fruit trees and vegetation on the island. Halfway through the train ride, we stopped to feed pigs, chickens, cows, and a horse. It was so much fun! The cows were hilarious & would open their mouth wide for you to drop the food right in their mouths. You should go on the train! It is such a great value!

What a fun way to spend the morning! Our three year old enjoyed riding the train and feeding the animals, especially the horse, who was so kind and gentle with all the folks petting and it and giving it food. We did not check in 15 minutes prior to departure as recommended and received a phone call as we were pulling into the parking lot to confirm whether we would be there soon. Even though we boarded with a few minutes to spare, it's nice that the company cared to make sure that everyone was on board prior to departure.

Did the hiking expedition/rail/lunch... Very informative. Learned a lot of history, had a great lunch, tasted various fruits and of course got to me the animals. Thanks to Paul, Rick and Dan for the fun day!

Gorgeous beach just a few blocks from the Nawiliwili Bay cruise terminal. And as an added bonus, it is home to must-do Duke's Kauai!

The small Kalapaki Beach lies in the small arc at the Nawiliwilli Bay. At the western end of the beach is the starting point of the famous Ironman of Hawaii. There, the first discipline, swimming, begins. When strolling on the beach, if the waves allow it, you can watch the surfers.

Nice beach to hang out. Good for surfing. We were here on a windy day and had lots of sand blowing on us on the beach area. There is a grassy area to hang out on though. The nearby hotel has a good restaurant to eat at.

Sheltered Beach in harbor area. Nice sand to lounge in with beautiful views. Nice place to go for a walk, a swim, or take a nap.

I love that I can call this beach my playground. You have waves if you want to surf, hydrofoil, or boogie board...you have flat if you want to paddle board. Beautiful views, a swimmable beach...Dukes Kauai right there #epic

It was such a beautiful beach. Easy to walk to from the docked cruise ship. It was about a 10 minute walk and is near lots of places to eat. It was surprisingly uncrowded.

We stayed at an air bnb condo on the bay for our honeymoon and it was perfect. Nice walk down to one of the best family friendly beaches on Kauai. Plenty of great shopping, dining, and rentals all right there. Great spot for spotting rainbows too!

Great large sandy beach, the local place rents chairs umbrella kayak and snorkel for cruise passengers for 99 bucks only. Restrooms and foot wash nearby. Nice grass area is also available

Food us pretty good, considering they have to feed a lot of people. The dancers seemed more Tahiti style than Hawaiian. In a covered venue so don't worry about the weather. Unlimited drinks, but family atmosphere. It's a good time and the price is better than some of the other luaus.

We did the safari rum tour and it was amazing! The staff are funny and take the time to get to know everyone! The grounds are beautiful and there is so much to see. Definitely worth it if you have time!

Enjoyed the Luau experience. The production and dancers were great! Really liked the shopping experience and the drinks. I didn't rate it a 5 stars because the food was not good, though it was a nice selection. The check in and seating was also very organized.I would definitely recommend this experience to all.

Food was good but the performers were amazing; best fire dancer I've ever seen. Such a beautiful piece of history they told and what a beautiful way to tell it. And the servers (big props) were incredibly helpful, kind, and attentive. Would definitely recommend.

The family LOVED it (kids ages 3-13)! We took a train ride tour around the plantation and farm. There are farm animals for feeding and petting at the halfway point. The animals are so cute and friendly. You chuck the appropriate and provided food out to them, and they are right along the fence line ready for more. The tour lasted around 45-60 minutes, perfect for the kids' attention and heat threshold. The train has two enclosed carts and one open air. I suggest getting there a little early (20 minutes). You'll want to be in the open-air cart. The train station is equipped with a wheelchair lift adapter. There are restrooms and a gift shop.

Buying tickets in advance is recommended. Else you can always get walk-in as well if they have any availability. For Kilohana Luau Tickets getting way before your trip is required to watch the show else No chance of getting it in the End.

This is a beautiful place. The house has been converted to allow multiple business showcase art, food and a shop and tasting room for Koloa Rum company. There is onsite restaurant and a bar as well. The train tour is awesome as well and shows the estate and the sugar plantation.

We stopped to check out the rum and gift shop. This has handicapped access. Would have liked to do the train... but it was expensive. The Carmel shoppe on site was not. But the place smelled so good we had to pick up a couple of packages of the carmels. You'll see these carmels all over the island. But they had special flavors available, so this is a must stop. There is also a ceramic self pai t studio.it looked interesting and if it's your thing do this early in your trip head over.

They really want you to go on the train ride. You need to buy tickets in advance. We have been told it's fun for kids You get to feed the wild pigs tortillas at some point. There's lots of art exhibits inside the building. The gift shops are rather expensive but are unique to the area. Looks like they do a luau did not see much information about it while walking around. The buildings are interesting to look at they've been restored a bit and look original. It's worth stopping and walking around. Plan to be there for a couple of hours if you're doing the train ride The train rides takes at least an hour. We saw people doing a rum tasting tour. Look interesting. They were selling a $135 bottle next to a $35.99 They have free restrooms in a building between different gift shops

We took part in 2 tastings during our time on the Island. Not only great tasting rum but a fantastic and hilarious experience with Jayne! What a fantastic woman! A must do, great gear in the shop too. Book on early as the tours do fill up

My husband and I came in for a tasting and had the best time. Our bartender was super knowledgeable and had great recipes and recommendations we can’t wait to try! Their rum is killer!

Always a great place to visit! Be sure to make reservations so you can do the tasting, which is free. Then proceed into the store to buy rum, shirts and other goodies. We stayed and had lunch at Gaylord’s, which was delicious!

We stopped in not knowing what to expect and it did not disappoint. The run tasting was free and the gift shop had surprisingly reasonably priced gifts. Other reviews say to stop at the local Costco to save a dime, but it's always best to support local vendors. Plus, compared to other "tourist" spots, the price was worth it.

The rum tasting was a fun experience. We learned some interesting facts and got to try some of the rums. If you've never tried their rums, this is a great way to sample before you buy. The cost was very inexpensive and you are able to buy the rum right next door.

Absolutely stellar tasting experience (while being a bit strict on timing, availability, and rules-y when you show up). Their rums are QUITE good and frankly more enjoyable to sip than any others I can name offhand. I would run directly to a bottle of the spiced if available while I'd enjoy the cacao for a dessert. Can I have the coffee one for breakfast? :D Pro tip, they rotate days for the coffee and the chocolate ones, but the restaurant/bar in the main house have it on their flights, along with the expensive reserve that's mentioned in the tasting. The reserve is ONLY available as part of a tasting. The Mai Tai the bar makes is NOT a pre-mix and is made fresh with orchard ingredients every day (are you kidding me, the best mai tai on the island). Enjoy!

We would highly recommend this place! Make sure to stop in earlier in the day to reserve your spot for the rum tastings! Beautiful galleries and shops all over the plantation with welcoming and friendly staff. There was a clay shop/studio I wish we could have gone to but it closes earlier on the weekends. A safari train for adults as well as a shop for all of your rum needs. There was little information as to how to reserve spots for the tastings so you would have to physically come to their desk and sign up or call in, their website does not allow bookings for any activities.

Wait, What? Free Rum Tasting??? Shut up !!! Yup, it’s true… and I’m giving this place a 5-Star Review, not because it was free, but because it was better than free … it was outstanding!!!! The tasting was conducted by a woman who really knew her product, and the history of commerce in the islands and how they effected the evolution of life in Hawaii and specifically Kauai !!! A must see on your visit to Kauai.

We absolutely loved it! Our rum tasting was awesome. The host was very knowledgeable and explained a lot of history behind everything. He also shared some great recipes that I would love to share, but I will not be sharing the photos of his recipes. I feel that would take away from experiencing it yourself. They have other things to do on the property as well. For instance, restaurants, candy shop (fresh made taffy), boutique shop, art room, and flower shop. They also have a safari rum run ( I would recommend booking at least a week in advance).

Beautiful establishment with nice friendly staff and great gift store. They have a little faux distillery mock display setup. I actually touring places that let you see the actual process. With the tastings tho a little bit disappointing. Depending on what day you go you get a varied selection. Will disclose I am a bit of a rum connoisseur. I’ll take some great rum anytime an aged rum over an aged scotch any day. Their basic rums are ok, the coffee one was pretty good and the chocolate one was fantastic! The one that lacked a bit of luster was their aged rum reserve of 5 years. Their big bottle is $125 and their little 50ml is $15. So I got the small one which I’m glad I did. They did say it had a bourbon taste & they were correct which to their discredit takes away from being a great rum and for that price isn’t where it should be in my opinion. I’ve had quite a few delicious rums aged twice as long that kept their rum distinctness and for about half the price. Neat little setup with a bit of their history but nothing to in depth.

Was just the perfect amount of rum lubrication and history over a 30-minute period to provoke intrigue and send you directly into the adjacent gift shop to make purchases. We signed up for the rum tasting online. We had to check in 15 minutes or so before our scheduled tasting. The gift shop has lots of options for souvenirs and sells the Koloa rum. The tasting was fun and educational. They have different rums on different days of the week. Employees and very friendly and knowledgeable!

The free rum tasting was great! Our guide gave us so much history about the company and information about the rum and every single sample we tried was delicious! So worth doing but do sign up in advance otherwise you may have to wait a bit until the next scheduled tasting time.

A must visit place if you are into rum! They have a tasting room which runs every hour or so during set times which can be booked in advance at the adjacent shop. The rum here is really smooth compared to other rums that I had tried. They don't use any molasses during the process which makes it more tolerable especially for me since I am not really a rum person. You can buy all their different types of rum next door along with other Koloa Rum trinkets. I ended up getting their coffee rum which was my favorite during the tasting. Definitely don't miss out on the experience here if you are visiting Kauai.

Great rum and staff! We showed up a little late to our 10am rum tasting and were thankful that they still took us in. Quick little 25 min tasting, 4-5 samples, definitely worth it. We picked up the chocolate rum, best I’ve tasted. It’s got a dark chocolate taste instead of the typically ultra sweet chocolate rum.

Cannot miss going to the Kauai museum. Admission was $10 and I was happy to see so much history and artifacts from different times- pictured. This is a many room building. There really is only this museum in Kauai other than the Koke’e state park museum which is mostly on birds and plants and is much smaller. I’d really love for this museum to get support and stay funded because it is full of amazing things. The woman in charge of taking admission and is in the gift shop is so kind she was willing to work a list out of recommendations for me and my husband to be sure to go to on our first time trip.

Many Kauai Hawaiian artifacts. Famous surfers of Hawaii exhibit. Very nice gift shop. A lot on the genealogy of the early Hawaiian royalty. They were having a weaving class while I was there. I loved looking at all of the artifacts.

This is a lowkey mellow historical experience. I feel they had a great history maps, artifacts and a great array of gifts for purchase. An awesome history of the sport of surfing!

This should be on everyone's list when they visit the beautiful island. And make no mistake, she is the best island. The two women working were extraordinary. It was clear how much they love the island, and they were happy to share their stories. They really made the whole island visit, honestly. And the museum taught me a lot about the island and its great history. I'm kind of in love with this place.

Museum is most interesting. Story boards tell the history with artifacts about Kauai and Hawaii. First area presents the Hawaiian culture through the ages with much detail on Royalties. Second building explains agriculture development and more modern times. Good section on surfing with pictures and bio of famous surfers. Check website for upcoming events teaching Hawaiian crafts. Nice museum with the history of Kauai. Ranges from natural history through industrial and business development. The first building has royalty history and life of the people during this period. The second building has natural history then moves to industry through the area. Some displays include sports, movies and notable contributions. One to two hours is about the right amount of time. I would have liked a better flow of information rather than very detailed plaques. But in the second building the TV screen allowed for selection of small shows isolating the history of the island such as the growth by volcano etc.

This museum had a lot of great history specific to Kauai and not just Hawaii in general. I loved the regal feather cape and helmet displays, and the rich details of how Kauai was integrated into greater Hawaii.

Quite comprehensive history of Kauai. Separate buildings within the museum, with each complex covering separate sections like ancient history WWII and surfing. A helpful starting point for better knowing the island.

This museum is full of information about the history of Kauai and its people. There are some artifacts, some reproductions of artifacts, and lots and lots of reading. Definitely plan to come during the heat of the day and spend some real time reading the history. Probably not a great museum for kids as there is very little interaction, but good for adults who want some quiet and history! Note: Admissions prices went up in January 2023 to $15 per adult!

A small but well organized museum. It contains a variety of historical artifacts, representative paintings and is full of information from early Hawaiian history up through WW2 and modern surfing champions. I was surprised, however, by how pro-colonial many of the exhibitions were. Not that it's an issue, but I just didn't expect it. I'll grant I made assumptions based on my knowledge of the attitudes of native Americans in reference to European arrivals. I digress. It's a great place to visit for a walk through Hawaiian history and overall really interesting and welcoming.

We had so much fun at the Wednesday weaving and coconut tasting class! The coconut tasting was a special New Year opportunity and we’re so lucky we chanced on it. One of the best destinations in southern Kaua’i for a family activity and a brief reprieve from sun and sand.

For the amount and depth of information and diverse selection of artifacts, this is a great value. Some of the exhibits might feel a bit dated or needing some modern design but it doesn’t take away from the quality info. Great surf history area! Cute gift shop with a nice book selection as well.

One of my favorite sunrise spots that is often directly below incoming flights in the morning. The lighthouse was recently renovated, and you cannot go inside the structure. There are often a few folks fishing near here in the morning as well as the occasional visitor also there for the sunrise. If you are able, please bring a small bag to collect trash when you make the trip here. While not a knock, I feel like there is often a fair amount of paper and plastic trash littered around the lighthouse and will easily clean up/pack out a full shopping bag worth of refuse each time I catch the sunrise here. A fair trade for a visit to this special and secluded spot!

Picturesque location. No easy access so best viewed from a distance. Located right in front of the airport. Needless to say it's not really crowded. If you're on a cruise ship you can't (won't) miss it.

Gorgeous spot. Right on the pathway of flights landing at Lihue. Sad that people litter here. CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELVES! Quick spot to enjoy lunch with a view. Grab some food from Smileys and take a few photos. Not for super low cars- road is rough with lots of potholes and rocks. There was one other couple here otherwise super serene

Lookout has beautiful views of the lighthouse and surrounding area. No entry to the lighthouse. Airplanes do fly low overhead pretty regularly, since the airport is so close. The road is unpaved/rough, with many loose rocks, so if you bring a smaller rental car it may be preferred to park in the parking lot above the access road and walk to the lookout. Less than a 10 minute walk (depending on walking speed). Highly recommend this stop if you are in Kauai.

Beautiful, scenic location! The road is a little bumpy but you can make it in a car. We were the only people there which was very nice because it's not a very big area. The views were incredible. We also met the Lighthouse Cat!

Not very far off the main roads and right at the end of the airport, it is a bit bumpy but we made it fine in a little Chevy Spark. Gorgeous views, planes fly over landing at the adjacent airport occasionally (but you can’t see them land from here unless you get up pretty high). Cannot go up in the lighthouse.

Amazing! The road is in need of repair but we came around this bend in road and the mountains across the bay came into view and took my breath away. Once we made it to lighthouse, which was splendid but had some trash strewn about and you could tell The Homeless had lives there, the view to the north of the cove made me cry because it was so beautiful and rugged and just showed Kauai in all her glory. The blues of the waters were amazing (P.S. we live here and it took more than 15 years to get there, but it was well worth it.)

You can take the dirt road all the way to the light house (we had a small rental) and we were fine. No access into the tower, but a nice little spot to watch the sunset over the napali coast line in the distance.

Great spot for some stunning ocean views! The little walk over is easily navigable and calming. Very safe!

Road directly to the lighthouse is closed. We followed Google maps regardless and parked our car right by the golf course. Then we walked about 5 mins closer to the lighthouse. It was gorgeous. Highly recommend going to see the sunset.

Off the beaten track and I would recommend an SUV. It's a pretty bad path to get to, but very beautiful.

This was a great spot to hang out watching for whales and turtles! The rocks were fun to explore, waves were big that day, so we were enjoying watching them crash onto shore. No body else there but my family which was great! We didn’t see any whales, but did see one turtle. I would definitely go back.

This was an amazing experience as we engaged with Kauai's sugar cane plantation history, but most of all learned about the family who left so much aloha and stories to be told.

I grew up here. This is the former family home of Mabel Wilcox before she passed away. My great grandfather, Alberto Daguay was the foreman for this place, having had many roles in the employ of Miss Mabel. The mansion and worker homes are kept to look the same way they did back in the early 1900's.

What a wonderfully warm welcoming by Mabel Wilcox. Posthumous, that is. I was so immersed in my visit by the warmth left in this plantation home. Well preserved - almost frozen in time. I felt a peacefulness and gratification for all the people involved in the preservation of Grove Farm.

This such a beautiful place to visit. My Uncle Billy worked here before his passing and it is just beautiful. Please take the tour where, at the end, you will get to taste the mint tea and the ice box cookies which are to die for. We went here just to but 4 bags of these wonderful goodies. The people that work there are ALL made of gold and are the nicest people you will ever meet. If you take the tour, you will be learning from the best and my Aunt Mary Beth may just be the one showing this beautiful place off to you. If it's her, say hi from us over in Oregon.

You have to call for a tour. Beautiful grounds with extensive history. The staff are well educated about the history of the islands. They are nice too. There is cookies and tea during the tour.

After visiting Kauai for many years, we heard about Grove Farm last week and promptly called to setup a tour. Tours are for very limited numbers of people so book ahead. Loved the tour of the old Sugar Cane farm. Fascinating view of the family business, farming and life on Kauai in those days. The beautiful family house and other farm buildings have been beautifully maintained and the tour guide has wonderful knowledge. We also toured the original kitchen and received delicious cookies and mint tea freshly made there for us. A wonderful tour not to miss

We visited the farm on a whim and very glad we did. I'm a history geek and this definitely opened up my horizons to do some more reading on the history of Kauai. All of the staff were wonderful on the guided tour. Very nice experience!

First the good. I've had the pleasure of visiting dozens of parishes within the States and intentionally (several reviewed on my profile). This was by far the most welcoming and friendly parish I've visited. As soon as we left the car (parking was readily available as we arrived pretty early), we were greeted by parishioners. The church itself was very open and airy (perhaps a little breezy with the fans seemingly on full blast). The Mass celebration itself was lovely, but more on that later. The homily was on point with the readings and conveyed an appropriate amount of historicity and relevancy to our lives. As for some less desirable aspects, I wasn't entirely thrilled with the guitar themed choir and how some of the prayers were sung (bit hokey). Nevertheless, still celebrating the holy sacrifice, so can't complain. The parish is also conveniently located near a coffee truck with some good options for a quick fix after mass.

This is a very beautiful Catholic church. It was also very convenient for us as we were heading back to the mainland. It's only a few minutes from the airport. We felt very welcomed when we went to the Saturday vigil Mass. On our next trip to Kauai we will certainly come to mass here.

Not enough parking for track and soccer events on same days

Always amazed at how well they use the space here for big events. Probably one of the most organized parking feats I've seen when I went to the Kauai Farm Fair. Kudos to keeping things to orderly when the ENTIRE island shows up. :)

I like walking around the track and taking a shower when I'm done. Mahalo.

Went to a fair a couple of years ago. It was so well organized, and people were so warm and polite, spreading the aloha spirit as always. We had so much fun!

Didn't get to see or do much this visit , was just there to line up for the Lights on Rice st Christmas parade . Drove the Habiat for Humanity float with Santa on board great fun for all !!!

We had to drive past this location on way to our rental property. Since Kauai only has one main roadway you are bound to cross in front of some major establishments.

This reading is for the farmers market there. It's relatively small but a nice mixture of produce food and crafts plus a little bit in way of beauty and health items.

not much sports are being held here as we used to decade(s) ago. especially high school football games due to fact shearwater birds are endangered in the island. the bright spotlights attracts and potentialy hurting those birds.

Such a beautiful place to meet, inside and out. The rich indoor theater staging, the lights, the comfy seats in the darkness...not to mention the air-conditioning... is so cool, so inviting. The grounds outside is more like a park, perfect for that picnic lunch on a blanket. Only reason I didn't give another star...unless you're Liliputian, the ladies bathroom stalls are almost impossible to get in & out of!

We use this facility for several functions per year and it is a very comfortable experience and the facility is well maintained. They only thing stopping me from granting 5-stars is that we cannot take water into the main hall. I hate to leave during the all-day program just to get a drink of water, but alas, I always have to.

Post Covid testing... if you get there early...stand in line... you get done early... awesome people working there. Very friendly and informative. Thank you County of Kauai and the State of Hawaii Department of Health!

This place is doing covid-19 testing 👍 but otherwise it's a place where you can have parties(graduation,birthday or family reunions)

Nothing incredibly overwhelming about this spot but it’s a bit out of the way and secluded so was kind of fun to explore without many people around. We saw a couple of sea turtles hanging out, fun for a quick little stop.

Great place to enjoy a meal in the car or get out for a walk. We came at low tide in the morning, so we were able to walk over to the lava rocks and see some fish.

A nice place to chill if before your flight back home if you have nowhere else to go. It's really close to the airport, although there's not much to do here except enjoying the view.

had a few hours to kill near the airport so stopped by here to try my luck in Hawaiian fishing. there's a fishing dock (even though Google says it's closed) and there's also a short jetty you can fish off of. Didn't know what i was doing but got a lot of bites and managed to catch this beautiful fish. had orange and green color with buck teeth. it was cute so I promptly threw it back into the ocean.

I really liked visiting this crumbling pier. Great views of the ocean. Mostly deserted. Lots of crabs on the dock, would make excellent crabbing location.

Highly recommended!! Great place to watch the ocean and near to airport if your killing time waiting to pick up family and friends from the airport. Very peaceful and scenic. Nice place for fishing aswell. If you are a cat lover, there’s a bunch of cats that you can feed and take picture of. Great place to clear your mind.

This is a nice little fishing spot. There is a jetty that holds tons of beautiful aquarium fish. The water is beautiful and clear. the drive to the spot is a bit sketchy. Lots of abandoned trashed cars and lots of litter on the side of the road.

Super pretty spot to be fishing and watching the planes coming in for a landing. We saw a few turtles swimming and a barracuda. The covered sitting area on the pier is nice too. Plenty of pole holders too if you don’t want to be always holding your pole.

Its an old pier on a cliff. Very windy but a great place to stop and watch the waves crashing. People were fishing off the pier. We saw some manta rays swiming which was super cool. There is a newer wooden pathway over the old pier. Lots of Kauai chickens wandering around. No beach here.

Cool place! When tide is low some tide pools little fish everywhere pretty cool. Beautiful blue water breaking all over the place. Lots of people fishing of the pier. Good place to check out!! Saw a turtle was way cool first turtle I've seen in the wild.

Needs a little clean-up on the coast, but overall, it's a nice place to visit. Beautiful views, pier, and all the volcanic rocks you can handle!

I visited this park when it was high tide, so the only visible sandy beach area was actually in the canoe club next door, and it was very small, like 10 feet wide. Rest of the bank was either filled with native plants, or with volcanic rocks. The river that ran by the beach is kind of smelly and muddy, so swimming is definitely not advisable. A few homeless looking people with their belongings were scattered around the park sleeping, so a visitor like me look out of place.

I think this was the black sand beach. It was like no beach I have been on. It looked like pulverized lava rock the size of brown sand. There were a number of moderate sized rocks. There was a rocked off area. While I was there two green turtles just below the rock area in the water. After I left, one of them came out of the water on to the beach. There was a small mostly jewelry stand. There was a covered picnic area and bathrooms.

There were no signs jndicating a city curfew at the park so me and a friend of mine got a ticket. I was told afterwards that the curfew was at 9:30 pm. Anyway Honolulu residents should be proud of themselves for maintaing a cordual and friendly relations with visutors under the extreme conditions of Covid-19 and protest. I will be back.

Can rent kayaks here and paddle south alone the coast. The wind and current is at your back. Shoreline is beautiful.

Sometimes a quiet places is needed. To sit and ponder or have a meal beneath the mountains. Treat yourself to a piece of Kauai.
