Prepare for a long day of hiking uphill if you want to make it to the summit, if you want to save your energy I suggest hiking early so you can take the gondola ride back down, otherwise, it’s a very tiring (but doable) loop. Beautiful views, brief areas where you actually have to do a bit of rock climbing, and very windy at the top. Loved this hike up mount Mansfield.

Beautiful view but rated theee because of the road. Drove all the way to the top parking (last one through the cloud). Costed 47usd for 2 adults and a child. Very dangerous driving route because the road was too narrow for two-way. had mini heart attacks everytime a car came from the other side.

Munt Mansfield in early October is stunning. The full foliage plus beautiful, but challenging, hiking.

EXCELLENT run! I ran up Mt. Mansfield from a few different trails/locations now and its worth it everytime. I would recommend a light jacket for up top even in the summer. Wind can cut through you and especially if you sweat on the way up.

Super beautiful place to visit while in Stowe, worth every penny for the gondola ride up, they have a gift shop, and food spot up top, but super cool for hiking or just getting a glimpse at how beautiful Vermont really is!

Visited from Toronto for this hike, and absolutely worth it! We took the halfway house route up, and the sunset ridge route down. This total took us 5 hours, precisely. The sunset ridge had nicer views, and was slightly easier than the halfway house (neither were easy though!!). This hike was fairly technical. You have to maintain a level of concentration to ensure careful footing on the rocks. Also, it was pretty inclined the entire time. It was not a walk in the park, that’s for sure.

Excellent hike for a day with friends. We did go through the toughest climb. It’s not for everyone… very steep. It was almost like climbing. Some older couple were even stuck in the middle (and you don’t want to go down this side!) Ask to make sure you take the easy route up if you are not experienced. It was a very nice 8km up and down. The views from the top are superb. You have to get there early if you want parking. We were there around 8am and it was already full. There is also a hiking fee that you need to pay for near the parking lot. We found a lucky spot to park our Sprinter. I gave it 4 stars because it’s a bit busy. But well worth it otherwise.

What can I say about this view. Tallest mountain of vermont with a spectacular view. The trail to the summit wasnt challenging but you should always be careful about where you step. A great hike with a nice drink afterwards highly recommended for anyone who wants the best views of vermont.

This is a great day hike. Not too long to get to the top, it took me about 4 hours. You can see Lake Champlain and Burlington from the peak on a clear day. It gets very windy above the treeline. Bring a light jacket even if you go in the summer.

Beautiful trail. I highly recommend taking the toll road. Very windy on top, bring your windbreaker and maybe a light fleece even for warm sunny days. It gets pretty cold. We went in late August and were comfortable in multiple light layers. Don't be that guy wearing just a t-shirt. You can see Lake Champlain, and also the ski lift that is operating at Stowe. If you're trying to pick between taking the ski lift to the top vs toll road I would suggest toll road. The ski lift awkwardly puts you in the middle of the trail so you'd have to double back if you want to hike the full thing. Fairly easy trail if you're just doing the top, we saw plenty of families. There are rocks to scramble over, but no dangerous drop offs or anything like that.

Worth the hike. Is not too hard. If you are not in good shape just walk slow

I went skiing at the Stone Mountain Resort, and it was a great experience. I was in the ski school, and the teachers were very helpful. The slopes and the runs are very well-kept and beautiful. I would suggest going earlier in the day when it's not as crowded. The only issue I had was that some people were smoking, and the parking lot that is not a mile away said it charges $5 per hour, but they charged us $45; we were only there for three hours, so we tried to report that, but they would not listen to us. But besides that, our experience is good.

We visited this place during weekdays so the crowd was not too much. This means we could get the lift tickets, rentals and hit the slopes fairly quickly. The lifts were also fairly empty so getting to the top was never a problem. This was my first attempt at skiing so I decided to go with their 2 hour lessons. This was very beneficial as the instructors gave up the solid foundation on moving and turning. The next day, I was hitting the green slope with ease. Prices of lift tickets are on the higher side but makes sense considering the number of lifts they offer. A long ride in the gondola is definitely recommended. The restaurant at the top of the mountain is usually busy and requires reservation. All in all, a great experience and a highly recommended destination fir skiing.

We had wonderful ski trip in Stowe. It was absolutely beautiful and comfortable in any weather! Gondolas brings you to the top peak. We want to tell BIG thank you to Paris (who work in Guest Service department). He is really care and has a big heart! We will defiantly come back there because of his great service!

Stowe is where my snowboarding dream begins. It’s the one of the best Mountain that Northeastern can offer and it’s absolutely No.1 place for me to go. Great terrains for all-levels, great ski in/out resort, great food, great people, and most importantly the great vibe. 5 stars and highly recommended!!

Stowe offers everything from beginner level to expert level (for me) and I had a blast skiing! I was there on an amazing powder day! Whiterooms, face shots, powder turns all day! Great resort, ornate base, and many food options. Skiing terrain was very well rounded for all levels. If you’re looking for a challenge, you can find it. If you want easy groomers, you can find them.

Stowe is beyond awesome! Between the powdery slopes, cool gondola experience, access to many ski rental shops and the mountain road restaurants and breweries! One of the best ski resort towns I’ve ever been to. The staff is awesome and welcoming. The slopes are nice and wide so you don’t feel like you’re running into people. They have a separated beginner mountain from the intermediates/diamonds so you don’t have to worry about beginners skiing/snowboarding into you! Super neat lodges/resorts to stay at just 5 mins away from the mountain! Not to mention you can easily just ski out right to your car. Super easy to access the mountain!

This is the most fantastic skiing resort I’ve been to. The views are incredible and it’s such a long run. I went down the easier slopes and those were scary for me. Only my fifth time skiing so it was a bit scary. The convenience of the rentals is also great. I don’t think I can go skiing anywhere else and still get the same experience

We paid a half day trip there during the fall foliage season. The view was breathtaking. The gondolas took you to the summit for a panorama view; where, you can see far away but the trees up there are mostly evergreen. So fall foliage is not as spectacular as down below. Buying gondola ride tickets in advance will save you about 20 minutes of lining up.

Ok. I have lived in Austria for 23 years. So I have to compare. Skiing. In Austria they groom every run every day. Except bump trails of course. So the on piste skiing is way way better. I guess Vail is saving money. But for $200+ a day it’s nuts. A season pass that covers 25 ski areas all within an hour costs about $700. No blackout dates. Next is food. The huts all over the mountains are all independent. So they charge the going rates of a normal restaurant. Not $9,00 for fries and $13,50 for a beer. About $4,00 each. Oh. And I never waited 20 minutes in a lift line to get on a 20 year old quad. Customers are getting take. Advantage of at Stowe. But of course they pay a lot so say it’s great to justify it

Early season. Stowe has the most terrain open in the entire U.S. Went with my wife on a Monday morning and had Spruce Peak almost entirely to ourselves. The conditions were wet and heavy, not favorable for novices, but we had a blast. Skied again Tuesday morning and it was perfect for us, packed corduroy. The grooming crew at Stowe is insane. With an epic pass, this is so worth the money.

The ride is good. But the glasses has so many scratchs. Difficult to see outside clearly. On the hill, the clouds feel so close. Environment changes very quickly. And there are no restroom nere the ride. You have to go resort area with another ride. And the waiting period is long. Not enough washroom for only ride users.

My friends and I came to see the Highland Cows and honestly felt a little let down. The walk there is about a mile downhill, and it’s really just a lecture while you see some cows from a shorter distance than if you were to drive by. Farmer Poach was an incredible and interesting speaker, but I don’t think it’s an experience I would do again. Thank you Farmer Poach for your incredible expertise!

Trapps is by far one of the best cross country ski areas, definitely in the area, if not the whole country. Their grooming is top notch, and the variety of terrain is awesome, from great skating loops, to vigorous climbs, to steep and fast downhills. They even make some snow. Also, snowshoe trails are excellent and challenging, and in the summer, the mountain biking is some if the most challenging in the area. Overall, worth a visit; you'll find something outdoors to do.

We booked the Von Trapp History Tour for $18 per person. We went at 9am to get tickets for the 11am - you have to get tickets the day of; especially if you are not a hotel guest. The tour was underwhelming. The tour guide talks to you about the family in a ballroom and then you go see the graveyard. This was then followed by watching a BBC documentary about Maria . My biggest complaint is that this wasn't a tour at all. There was no tour of the grounds or explanation of when things were built or where the original farm was. Moreover, the initial part significantly needs improvement. Why weren't there visual aides? You see all of these pictures in the hallways- why aren't they shown during the "tour"?!? Also, the guide discussed all of the memoir books which are available in the gift shop, why didn't she show us the books?!? Or read excerpts? This tour seriously needs an update. Consider adding audiovisual updates

This place becomes famous because of its story and heritage. To know it’s story, you have to know the movie “The Sound of Music”, and its filming location was Salzburg. The prototype of the movie migrated from Europe to this place. To memorize their hometown, they built this place like salzburg. It’s currently a small hotel, and periodically the waiters will introduce the story of Sound of Music, and bring you back to the European life.

Snowshoeing at Trapp Family Lodge. My daughter and I drove up to spend the day snowshoeing. When we arrived, we bought our tickets ( $25/each. had own equipment ) and set off on the "Cabin Trail" We hiked the whole trail up to the cabin ( which was closed ) and it couldn't have been more poorly maintained. There were fallen trees across the trails, trees that were about to fall onto the trail, streams w/ no bridges to cross ( had to find alternative route ) and scattered debris throughout the entire trail. It was really awful! If one of those trees falls on someone's head as they pass, Trapp Family Lodge is going to be in some hot water legally. We were determined to get our money's worth so we pushed through. I would NOT recommend anyone trying to navigate that trail and TFL should be ashamed of themselves for such poor land management ( but willing to take the $50). Never again!!

My daughter and I went x-skiing with our own equipment (newer waxless skis). It was snowing, and as we approached the Cabin, we were having a heck of a time with snow packing under the skis. Phil at the Cabin couldn't have been more lovely! He served us hot chocolate, soup, and helped wax our skis. Saved our day!!

The cross country skiing here is topnotch. I won't go anywhere else in Central Vermont. This is my 4th or 5th year as a passholder. Last year (2022) I got a pass to Bolton's XC because it's 7 minutes closer to my house and I thought I'd go more often. You know what? Bolton couldn't care less about their XC area and it shows. I didn't go enough to even pay off my pass. So, I'm back at Trapp this year and SO happy about it! Trails are groomed early and often. Even on a crowded day, once you're 5 or 10 minutes out from the lodge, you're likely to find yourself alone or passing just a couple of other people. The trails are wonderfully varied in topography, length, and difficulty to make regular visits interesting and different each time. Thank you to all the people involved in the XC operation!!

The Trapp family outdoor center has majestic views of the surrounding mountains and offers a Large selection of Mountian gear for snow rentals and off Season including cycling equipment, Hiking gear and Souvenirs related to the Sound of Music.

Beautiful windy roads lead you to the notch where you are in close to the giant granite rocks. It’s definitely worth the drive to Stowe and then take the gondoliers to the top of the mountain!! A little pricey but excellent views

This campground is nice and very clean. Its also close to some cool stuff, hiking, biking, etc. However, we won't be staying here again due to the unfriendly, rude and condescending staff. We rented two adjacent campsites here over the weekend, which had a shared parking area. We had three vehicles, one of which was a sprinter van. The park rules indicated that all vehicles must be parked off the road in all parking areas. We easily parked all of our vehicles off the road. However the park ranger wouldn't let us keep the van in the parking area and seemed to be making up rules to force us to move the van, even though we seemed to be abiding by the parking policy. We ended up having to park the van off-site, under threat of having the police called, which meant we had to unload the van completely, which was frustrating after a 4 hr ride to get here. I guess, take care if you plan on bringing a larger van here. Staff here are not very accommodating.

We camp here annually at the end of camping season and love the beauty of the nature that surrounds us here. It's typically very peaceful, even though it's always busy in Stowe this time of year. However, typically I don't hear the people or car traffic. There is a small stream near the site we stay at which is a lovely sound to fall asleep to. Staff here is informative, but not always super friendly. I wish there was a dish-washing station and would love to have warm water at the lower bathroom, especially on those cold camping weekends. But, all-in-all, the rustic nature of this campground is one of the things I love about it.

Can’t comment on the campgrounds as I wasn’t able to stay but the employee or park ranger or whatever his role was, was one of the rudest people I’ve interacted with. The facility was full and so I asked for a recommendation as I’m not from the area and he shot out a name and then told me I need to leave. I came back the next morning hoping to purchase a day pass to use a shower and he followed me through the campground, scolded me (even though I had called ahead and he didn’t answer) told me I need to leave immediately and followed me out. Didn’t even visit the state park due to the sour taste he gave me to the whole area.

We really enjoyed this campground! The woman who greeted us was so friendly and sweet. We had a site with a lean-to, and it was very well maintained. Picnic table and fire pit in good condition, shelter was sturdy, roomy, deep enough to not need to set up our tent, and had a nice paint job so it even looked great! We saw people cleaning/checking on the bathrooms at least 3 times the one afternoon and night we were there, and they obviously did their job well. Trash was regularly emptied, and everything was clean. Highly recommend!

Going in October, which we've done for many years, we always seem to get rain but it's actually not a big deal here. The sites are so wooded and the drainage is so good that we have never really had a problem with it. Clearly, the pup doesn't like it! This is a beautiful park, in a wonderful location. You could eat every meal at a different restaurant within a 15 minute drive or you could never leave your site in which case you wouldn't know how close you were to civilization. Hiking opportunities, either within driving distance or from the park, abound.

Nice campsite, but not much space for the cars. The staff in general is not friendly, don't expect any kind of cooperation from them, for example checking in a little earlier, even if the site is unoccupied from the previous day. They make you feel like you are committing a crime, patrolling the campground every minute and even when you leave for a while and then return they ask you if you have a reservation. If you have a van or Camper they want to make sure you don't sleep inside it, which is meaningless. The area is very nice but the staff makes you feel very uncomfortable.

Beautiful drive through the area on 108 with several hiking areas along the way and parking area/clean bathrooms at the top. If you're from out of town, the road gets very narrow... tractor trailers and camper drivers don't do it!

This place is absolutely stunning. Plenty of trails to choose from with varying levels of difficulty. There are mountains and waterfalls all in one place. Can’t wait to go back!

The camping areas looked well maintained and the grounds officers were very nice. The campsites were full when we pulled in to check it out so we didn't stay here but I would most likely return. The picnic area and trails were very nice in the designated areas. We enjoyed lunch in the park with our 25 foot RV. The roads are well maintained and we were able to move about easily in the RV.

We went in the winter to see it frozen over. It was a little scary getting up there with the ice but very cool looking once we got to the top seeing the water flow through the ice

Can’t miss on your trip to Stowe! The hike up to the falls was a little slippery because of the ice. That was our fault for coming on a snowy day. Just be careful and you’ll be fine! It was relatively easy to manage and completely worth the views. I could have stayed all day.

Such a beautiful place! Went there today. So worth the drive and hike up to the falls!!

This is the perfect spot for a short walk and fun short climb to see the waterfall. Came with my 60 yo mother who has a few ailments and she found it completely manageable. Through the clear path you can veer off to admire the stream and then continue to climb for the ideal view of the falls. There’s easy parking and it was generally not crowded when we visited. Worth checking out by far!

Very short walk barely any climbing unless u go behind the trail, there is a rope and signs of danger, as it very narrow area to stand, probably only 4 people can be there at the same time looking at waterfall directly. Parking off the road can fit maybe 10 cars. Area can be muddy if it rains.

I absolutely loved the narrow winding boardwalk that leads to these falls - flat and easy and beautiful in fall! The falls themselves are stunning and an absolute blast to get up close to - crossing across rocks and up and around to get a front and center view.

Spectacular views 🏞 with moderate-level hiking trails throughout. Make sure to bring your water🧃 & a little picnic 🍫 to enjoy near the falls! 🏖

Small hike to this beautiful little waterfall. The hike is a little steep but not long at all.

This waterfall exceeded expectations. We saw a beaver dam on the short walk in, took in the views from the top, and then did a quick hike in to the base. Not quite swimming but some wading. It was gorgeous.

Great hike, with a great pay off at the end. A wonderful Falls. Worth the visit!

Short hike to a gorgeous falls, about 10 minutes. To the falls. Along the way there are quiet a few beaver dams and large trees felled. Once at the tip there’s a ripe that says “not maintained rails”. We kept going about a mile In for further views and it was really gorgeous. After about .75 miles there’s a nice flat spot by the river to chill / have a picnic). Would have gone further but I was testing out my new hip! Parking at trail head was a bit crowded, but given it’s a short hike, spaces open up frequently. Easy for kids!

There’s a short trail to the top. There’s kind of a boardwalk most of the way there. Then there’s a steeper climb to the top where you have to be careful of other people going up and down. Ultimately, you reach the top and see this cool waterfall. It’s a nice short stop.

Visited on weekday.. there is a trail to go from bottom and take it up to foothills where we could swim too.. and my adventurous family climbed a bit of falls too. Definitely worth visiting

A small walk to the falls but it's really tricky to get to the actual falls. To get to the bottom of the falls we have to go through the water or go over the rocks next to the water. It also depends on the water level. But if you can get to the bottom its a really good view. There is a small bridge next to the parking lot. There is a small steep passage to get to it. If you can get there it's really a beautiful spot for pictures. See one of the pics I attached.

We did the tour and saw the beer garden here. The artwork is very cool and the atmosphere here is relaxed. It is a great place for sure and on the tour you find out so much more. They are very knowledgeable about their craft from all angles. However they won me over and I decided to do this review after hearing how seriously this company takes giving back and minimizing their footprint. Did you know besides making some great brews they have a scholarship program, recycle their spent grain to farmers, filter their water in and out, recycle C02 used during the process and generally practice environmentally friendly processes. We'll they do.... and seriously make some great beer while doing it. You can enjoy this company's products for all the right reasons.

Beer is extremely reasonably priced. Similar breweries charge 30% more but the Alchemist is clearly committed to maintaining affordable, delicious beer. Beer is great. Indoor space is a bit small. Staff was all friendly. Photo is of hand pulled heady topper (amazing and so smooth). Wish they had longer hours but I’m glad they respect their staff.

So happy to have witnessed the true spectacle of the total solar eclipse from Alchemist’s massive open porch. They were kind enough to run a free event and have a food truck and porter potties on their facility for the viewing party. The live music and dance added to the atmosphere of the 2 hr eclipse and it was amazing to experience totality with other folks who had traveled from all along the East Coast. The heady topper on the hand tap was amazing and it was really nice to take back commemorative stickers. The brewery is located close to many food places in Stowe including a pizza place, Pieccasso (where we ended up getting a massive pizza from) and Nocturnal. All in all, we loved our time catching up the eclipse here and we are really glad that the brewery staff were so welcoming! A truly unreal experience. The brewery, staff, and environment was amazing. If you are in Stowe, VT this is a must. The Biergarten was so much fun for everybody. Along with the guided brewery tour.

This was on my brewery bucket list, and it was well worth the visit. Took off one star as the experience was limited to two 16oz cans for on-site consumption. Would much rather have preferred an option of smaller pours and the opportunity to try several varieties. That said, the location, staff and beer were all excellent. Final note - don't forget to try the cheese!

Alchemist was a cool brewery in the Stowe area with solid beers and beautiful grounds with plenty of parking. I will say, I was pretty surprised to find only one beer on tap, although there were plenty of cans and bottles to try. Also the actual taproom area was very small - likely the smallest I've seen for such a large facility. Good beer and cool spot but not necessarily the most inviting taproom experience.

Heady topper on draft!?!? Only place on earth you can get a draft heady. Really clean facility and very friendly/helpful staff. Beer nerd moment as it was my first Alchemist visit.

We absolutely love what The Alchemist is doing during their renovations. The ability to have full cans on their lawns is better than their previous tasting room experience. I loved that there was a beir garden exclusive!

A must when in Stowe. They offer a tour, I didn’t do the tour, but will next time. This place gets packed quickly, so be patient while they try to accommodate as many guests as possible, but they do limit how many people are inside. You can opt to sit out in their patio under cover, but no heat. The beers are very good, esp. heady topper, focal banger, and light. Cheers!

we tried two beers, the kiss of dank and the barrel aged knuckle dragger. IPA was great, flavours of citrus and mango, not to hoppy. The highlight was the knuckle dragger milk stout, very rich full body, initial taste of coffee and dark chocolate, finishing off with notes of cherry and oak. Incredibly smooth and memorable beer. One of my absolute favourite beers I’ve had ever. Pricey, 15 USD a can. The service was amazing, the location is clean, well decorated and hip, an absolute gem in the Stowe area. Must visit.

Great brewery and I was glad to finally be able to go after so many years of waiting. We did the tour and had an awesome guide. Beers were everything you could’ve wanted and I’d recommend anyone in the area to go.

If you're an IPA fan, then you'll be pleased! You can play outside with friends and families while enjoying their tasteful beers! They only have one beer on tap, but their best one, the Heady Topper, a double IPA, you must try it.

The Alchemist is a dog-friendly gem! Their consideration for dog owners with a sign for parental caution is thoughtful. My only minor gripe is the lack of draft beer available outside. It's been too long since I enjoyed Heady or Focal on draft, but overall, it's a great spot for dog lovers and beer enthusiasts alike. Thank you for making this dog friendly again!

Amazing brewery with a great atmosphere and interesting artwork. Beers were reasonably priced. Great tasting IPAs that are served cold in a glass. Their space inside is surprisingly small but they do have a nice outdoor sitting area/beer garden. Plenty of parking spaces. You can purchase some of your favorite beers to take home. Before coming check the days to make sure they are open. They were closed a few days during the week when we were planning our visit. You can leave with some free stickers and coasters. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area.

Exceptional IPA, fun, casual atmosphere with seating indoors and outdoors. Warren's food truck is great! Heady Topper on tap! A very enjoyable afternoon.

This place is the BEST. Great vibes and HeadyTopper on tap, wow, who can complain about ANYTHING! the inside is huge and has so many great artistic pieces/murals that make it so nice. The staff is really nice and manages the place super well. The outside tent area is nice and they had a live DJ so a really great place to hang out. The beers were really really reasonably priced.

Nice place to hang out, very good beer, they focus on IPA's. The flagship beer is Heady Topper which is very heavy on the hops but very good flavor. The tap room keeps evolving and getting better. It started as a simple tasting room, then made it into a larger space where you can hang out and sample/buy the beer, and now they have tables and offer food from a food truck partner. Still a great place to hang out.

Great beer, served by great people. Plus, I love their tipping policy, since all of their employees get paid a living wage, tips are not needed, and any tips received are donated to charities chosen by the employees, which I think is awesome!

My wife and I have been coming here since The Alchemist was in Waterbury years ago. The owners and employees are absolutely first rate people who regularly give back to the community. This brewery is everything a Vermont business should be. Responsible, friendly, kind, hardworking people who deliver exceptional service and product. The Stowe brewery is quirky and unique and absolutely worth a visit. Oh, and a 4 pack of great beer won’t set you back $20+, like so many others. Go here and experience terrific beer in an environment unlike any you’ve seen before.

This place was highly recommended by a random beer fan when we were at another brewery in Maine. We ordered the Shut the Hell Up and the Big Daddy. Both were very good and flavorful, nice and cold and carbonated. When we first walked in, we were nicely greeted by a staff member who explained the layout of the place and gave our kid a cool sticker. The vibe of the place is relaxed and unique. There’s a spot for to-go beer and beer drive up for pickup which was something we don’t usually see for a brewery. There’s a large outside area with chairs and another spot for canned beer.

I went skiing at the Stone Mountain Resort, and it was a great experience. I was in the ski school, and the teachers were very helpful. The slopes and the runs are very well-kept and beautiful. I would suggest going earlier in the day when it's not as crowded. The only issue I had was that some people were smoking, and the parking lot that is not a mile away said it charges $5 per hour, but they charged us $45; we were only there for three hours, so we tried to report that, but they would not listen to us. But besides that, our experience is good.

We visited this place during weekdays so the crowd was not too much. This means we could get the lift tickets, rentals and hit the slopes fairly quickly. The lifts were also fairly empty so getting to the top was never a problem. This was my first attempt at skiing so I decided to go with their 2 hour lessons. This was very beneficial as the instructors gave up the solid foundation on moving and turning. The next day, I was hitting the green slope with ease. Prices of lift tickets are on the higher side but makes sense considering the number of lifts they offer. A long ride in the gondola is definitely recommended. The restaurant at the top of the mountain is usually busy and requires reservation. All in all, a great experience and a highly recommended destination fir skiing.

We had wonderful ski trip in Stowe. It was absolutely beautiful and comfortable in any weather! Gondolas brings you to the top peak. We want to tell BIG thank you to Paris (who work in Guest Service department). He is really care and has a big heart! We will defiantly come back there because of his great service!

Stowe is where my snowboarding dream begins. It’s the one of the best Mountain that Northeastern can offer and it’s absolutely No.1 place for me to go. Great terrains for all-levels, great ski in/out resort, great food, great people, and most importantly the great vibe. 5 stars and highly recommended!!

Amazing mountain to ski at! As professional skier, it is important to find a mountain that offers variety of trails and difficulties. Stowe offers everything from beginner level to expert level (for me) and I had a blast skiing! I was there on an amazing powder day! Whiterooms, face shots, powder turns all day! I will definitely come back!

Great resort, ornate base, and many food options. Skiing terrain was very well rounded for all levels. If you’re looking for a challenge, you can find it. If you want easy groomers, you can find them.

Stowe is beyond awesome! Between the powdery slopes, cool gondola experience, access to many ski rental shops and the mountain road restaurants and breweries! One of the best ski resort towns I’ve ever been to. The staff is awesome and welcoming. The slopes are nice and wide so you don’t feel like you’re running into people. They have a separated beginner mountain from the intermediates/diamonds so you don’t have to worry about beginners skiing/snowboarding into you! Super neat lodges/resorts to stay at just 5 mins away from the mountain! Not to mention you can easily just ski out right to your car. Super easy to access the mountain!

This is the most fantastic skiing resort I’ve been to. The views are incredible and it’s such a long run. I went down the easier slopes and those were scary for me. Only my fifth time skiing so it was a bit scary. The convenience of the rentals is also great. I don’t think I can go skiing anywhere else and still get the same experience

My recent visit to Stowe Mountain Resort was absolutely wonderful. The resort's skiing and snowboarding options are top-notch, with something for everyone. Amazing, beautiful place! Very nice and helpful staff. Super organized at the hotel, they help you get all your stuff up to the room quickly and efficiently. On the slopes, barely any wait for the chairlifts because they are so organized. Trails were great even as the day went on. I would recommend you book a trip to Stowe Mountain Resort!

We paid a half day trip there during the fall foliage season. The view was breathtaking. The gondolas took you to the summit for a panorama view; where, you can see far away but the trees up there are mostly evergreen. So fall foliage is not as spectacular as down below. Buying gondola ride tickets in advance will save you about 20 minutes of lining up.

Ok. I have lived in Austria for 23 years. So I have to compare. Skiing. In Austria they groom every run every day. Except bump trails of course. So the on piste skiing is way way better. I guess Vail is saving money. But for $200+ a day it’s nuts. A season pass that covers 25 ski areas all within an hour costs about $700. No blackout dates. Next is food. The huts all over the mountains are all independent. So they charge the going rates of a normal restaurant. Not $9,00 for fries and $13,50 for a beer. About $4,00 each. Oh. And I never waited 20 minutes in a lift line to get on a 20 year old quad. Customers are getting take. Advantage of at Stowe. But of course they pay a lot so say it’s great to justify it

Early season. Stowe has the most terrain open in the entire U.S. Went with my wife on a Monday morning and had Spruce Peak almost entirely to ourselves. The conditions were wet and heavy, not favorable for novices, but we had a blast. Skied again Tuesday morning and it was perfect for us, packed corduroy. The grooming crew at Stowe is insane. With an epic pass, this is so worth the money.

The ride is good. But the glasses has so many scratchs. Difficult to see outside clearly. On the hill, the clouds feel so close. Environment changes very quickly. And there are no restroom nere the ride. You have to go resort area with another ride. And the waiting period is long. Not enough washroom for only ride users.

I really enjoyed my little jaunt to the Gold Brook Covered Bridge in Stowe! It was cool to hear the stories associated with this bridge, especially the spooky ghost story of Emily! She's said to still haunt this bridge to this present day! The Gold Brook Bridge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It's definitely worth taking a few minutes to admire its unique design and fun history!

Great Covered Bridge! Beautiful views, and a small place to pull over where you can get out. The smell and vibe of these bridges is unique and beautiful! Easy to find as well!

Really cool history here. The take if this bridge is A young woman named Emily planned to elope with her love. Their meeting place was this same bridge. But when he didn't show, Emily, filled with despair, hanged herself from the rafters of the Gold Brook Bridge. Some really nice picture taking. I wish it were nicer out as it was pouring rain but it didn't put a damper on our excursion. Great bridge to visit with a lot of history and folklore around it.

Not every place in Google needs to be a place to eat or lodge, American landscapes and pioneer industry long left behind are worthwhile visits and topics of conversation. The Gold Brook Covered Bridge is a simple but prominent staple in the Vermont country side. Settlers built covered bridges because they tended to withstand the weather much better than an open bridge. Some stood five times longer, needing less repair and upkeep. There is plenty of architectural consideration into these early bridges. Now this one has a ghost story that goes with it. I think it’s largely a tourist draw, which is sadly unnecessary. This bridge does not need a jilted bride trope to be an interesting location. You can see from picture number one - it has its own calling to majesty.

Had a fun and quick stop to this “haunted bridge”. The scenery is very pretty in this area. While I didn’t feel a spiritual presence, after driving through the bridge, my traction control light turned on and off, which my car has never done before. 👻

Historic covered bridge not to far off the usual routes in town. The architecture is really cool if your into that kind of thing. Great stop to add some history to your trip.

You can walk down the hill to get closer to the water and view the underneath of the bridge as well. Easy Access. However, plan to hike down the hill for even more gorgeous views of the stream & bridge.

Beautiful historic bridge with wonderful falls 🏞️

You can get there on your own, and there is a good area to park just across the bridge so you can get out and look around. However, be aware that there are some locals that don't appreciate anyone visiting the bridge. Even though we were safely out of the right of way, we had one local that decided to stop while driving across the bridge to inform all of us that "this is main roadway that locals use" and that we were "in the way." Thankfully, another local was there giving a tour to a small group and apologized for the driver's unwelcoming attitude, but the incident did taint the experience.

A pretty covered bridge right outside of Stowe. Take time to walk down the side and enjoy the view from there. Not as busy and a different perspective.

Absolutely amazing experience! Rachel went ABOVE and BEYOND our expectations…. Especially when she helped push my car out of the driveway when stuck in the snow 😂! Talk about customer service…. Henry was our horse, and Benson and Buford were welcome companions!!

Beautiful and relaxing ride for the family. The driver was very friendly and informative. We took some fun photos too. My children were free because they are under 4. We will go again in the future.

I should have written this after our Thanksgiving get-away (2022) and am finally getting to it! I could not believe what I saw. The horses were standing in thick mud and one of them had missing hair near the bridle area where you could tell it had been on for too long without being changed. I grew up with horses and felt so sad for these animals. My husband and I walked away because we will not support this type of animal care! I should have taken pictures of the mud and the condition of these horses!

It was a nice ride. Everyone was super nice. The snow trail was beautiful. Worth the $40. Bundle up first. Its not snowmobiling people! Its literally a horse drawn sleigh ride.

I was married in Stowe in December 2021 and really wanted to incorporate horses into our day. Gentle Giants was great! They worked with me to figure out a good time, were accommodating when our schedule shifted last minute, and provided the most romantic carriage ride. It was so nice to have a quiet private moment on our wedding day and we also got some wonderful pictures! I highly recommend Gentle Giants.

Paul was an amazing and informative guide. Juke, our horse was strong and cooperative. The carriage ride itself was about 20-25 minutes with Paul continuously interacting with Juke and us. We went through a trail in the forest and the meadows. Definitely worth experiencing!

Nice ride through woods. Had a good time telling a story to kids on how people used to travel.

One of the most unforgettable times of my life. I spent a good hour playing and getting to know the dogs. Staff were absolutely wonderful! There wasn't enough snow so we rode a kind of tiny four wheeler that the dogs pulled. Nice long ride through the trails. Will definitely come back in winter to try the sleigh ride.

We had a lovely ride. We got a beautiful view of the mountain. Dan didn’t seem to care for the appreciative pats so Jess introduced us to Troy and Ariel both were happy to take the attention.

Very nice walk in the woods with gorgeous falls and lots of signs to explain the nature around us.

Sterling Gorge Falls offer the type of scenery you'd find in National Parks like Glacier but without the long travel from the East Coast or the price tag. Just gorgeous! The photos speak for themselves.

Sterling gorge falls is a very nice local hike. The path to the falls winds through dense trees, it's not an exposed falls. Depending on the season, you do need to hop across some rocks and water to really see the falls. Be on the lookout for a geocaching box if you are into that. Lots of cool stuff in it.

Pretty and shaded hike. It's a bit of a drive to get to and it took us a minute to find the trailhead, but it was a nice hike on a hot day. The signs were very informative and there's a nice spot at the bottom to see the water from multiple vantage points. Be careful with small children and fearless adults - there's a lot of high ledges without any barriers.

Quick little trail but has amazing view of the landscape!

This spot is beautiful. I’m a fan of waterfalls so to see endless falls from a nice clean path was breathtaking! I highly recommend this place.

I got referred here when at another nearby park. A bit disappointed with how far away the falls are and apparently no real path to get up to the falls. Beautiful walkway and information.

Love returning to the Lodge often. The staff are wonderful, always welcoming and helpful. The valet guys are fabulous, always quick to help out and always greet our dog as we return. The views a beautiful! And the grounds so well kept with updated landscaping to suit the season inside and out. The food is delicious at Aspen Hall and Tipsy Trout. Service is wonderful, our favorite server is Dawn in Alpine Hall! Drinks are exquisite! And deserts that can't be beat!

The beds are hard as a rock. You can feel the springs too. For the price of the rooms, I expect better. The restaurant is also understaffed. We tried to have breakfast, but there must have been 25 tables for two servers. We had to leave without getting our food. It was taking so long that we were going to miss our tee time. Overall, not a great experience.

Had a quick get away at the Lodge. Beautiful location. Loved the exterior and layout of the complex. The staff was accommodating and friendly. A slight glitch at check in was smoothed over with complementary drinks at one of the wonderful in house restaurants. Loved the hot tub and heated outdoor pool!

Having previously stayed at the Lodge at Spruce Peak in both 2021 and 2022, our latest visit was met with mixed feelings. While our check-in experience left much to be desired, with our room not being ready until after 6:00 PM, the hotel was apologetic and offered a $200 credit for the inconvenience. Regarding the dining experience, we fondly remember our past dinners here being nothing short of amazing. Unfortunately, this year, while prices have increased, the quality seemed to have taken a downturn to just being mediocre. That said, a visit to Whistle Pig remains a highlight – though it’s worth noting you can enjoy this without being a guest at the lodge. The Timberline studio room was indeed pleasant, but this came at an extra cost as we opted for an upgrade. It’s hard not to feel the pinch when considering the overall expenses. A couple of drinks, one dinner, some snacks, and a spa treatment ran us over $1,000 for just a day and two nights. The value just doesn’t seem to match the price anymore. On the bright side, their pet-friendly policy is commendable. However, it’s worth noting that the customary dog beds and bowls were conspicuously absent this year. In summary, while the Lodge has its merits, the increasing costs combined with a less personalized experience means we’ll likely be exploring other accommodations in the future.

What a location! It has been about 7 years since I last stayed here and I have to say they have impeccably maintained the resort. There are some things that are past its expiration date including the mattress which was a substantial issue for us. The spring mattress was so uncomfortable that my husband and I only got a few hours sleep every night. The safes they bought are junk according to security they’re new and are constantly having issues like ours where the battery fails and then they have to come and fix it. We upgraded after checking in for a fireplace room and paid regular upgrade price which was fine but online they say the rooms are larger and if anything they definitely feel smaller but the fireplace was most important to us so we stayed in that room. Everything closes very early we were really surprised the ice skating rents only 12-5 and that some things weren’t open at all certain days considering it’s peak season it was disappointing. I tried asking around about a play space for my toddler for tubing snow angel fun but they don’t actually have anything outdoors besides the pool because everything is actually owned separately by the ski business Stowe mountain resort. There was a young valet who took off while we were taking our son out of the car luckily my son had just been taken out when the door slammed shut while he was driving away he stopped the car but didn’t even have the decency to get out make sure we were ok and apologize. Regular valet guy was great throughout the trip and he wasn’t there and no one else seemed to notice the event so it wasn’t recognized by staff so I hope they read this and put out retraining for the valet because that could have ended very badly. Will we be back? Time will tell we live only a couple hours away and the location is unbeatable for New England and the ski in ski out is helpful especially when you have kids. One thing is for certain if we go back we will be bringing a mattress topper with us and advil pm

Enjoyed our stay, the penthouse rooms were spacious with a well equipped kitchen and three entrances (one per room). Each room had a large bathroom and shower area and the common area had an additional bathroom. The room had a terrific view of the slopes. They’re not pet friendly. There is a convenient gondola (free) that takes you up to the slopes. The only complaint is that the breakfast buffet is lackluster to begin with but also at 9:40 (it goes till 10) many of the pans were empty which is not the main issue. When I asked the staff they mentioned they’d restock but the kitchen was unable to accommodate the higher demand (due to the eclipse), understandable, but no one communicated that to the many people waiting so when following up about restocking, a gentleman who seemed to be the manager rudely responded that “breakfast opens at 7:00 (or 7:30 can’t remember)” as if we were all at fault for not having food during the designated time. At almost $3k a night I’d expect a far more courteous response at the very least. Otherwise it was a lovely experience.

We’ve stayed here a couple of times in the last couple of years. We like the resort. Rooms & premises are well cared for, staff has always been attentive & friendly. We have had stays where we have a car with us & other stays where we taxi in from airport. We feel comfortable not having a car since there are several dining options and different places to get adult drinks. I especially love the fact that the village grounds are heated so I’m not walking on icy paths. The one minus for us is that it’s not easy finding soda/pop (cokes,Pepsi etc) at one point a kind staffer gave me some from there own employee area. It’s way easier to find bottles of wine than carbonated sodas.

Fabulous resort. Great rooms. Amazing pool Concierge Billy O was one of the best I have ever dealt with. Every day he asked what our plans were and offered advice. We have been visiting Stowe for many years and he had suggestions that we never considered. Dinner at the resort was fabulous. Had so many great meals, but also visited some new favorites. Reach out to him on your next visit. You will not be disappointed.

I spent a long weekend here in the beginning of November. I had a really great experience. The hotel itself is really nicely designed and the rooms all have nice quality and clean furniture - our room even included a fireplace! The hotel property includes a bit of shopping (snacks, some clothing, and spa goods), dining, an outdoor pool and 2 hot tubs, and valet parking. Overall a very lux experience and I am looking forward to returning.

We were here on a work trip. Stayed in a studio room. It was the nicest room we have ever stayed in! The bed was a little firm for me, but my husband fine. We visited Ben and Jerry's and took the tour, visited JimmyZ pizza right near by (super friendly and great pizza), had a lovely dinner up at the Von Trapp Lodge, and breakfast at the Alpine Hall in Spruce Peak Hotel (breakfast sandwich is highly recommended). It was summer, but super busy and saw lots of golf clubs. Great trip!

Stayed overnight recently after having a lovely visit here 6 years ago, and it seems the resort has gone downhill. Possibly new management? There were no checkin staff to be found so we ended up lugging our own belongings in. The common areas are still nice and have been renovated since our visit, but the rooms and hallways are tired and show wear --they seem to be time-shares. Balconies were tiny and had terrible cheap furniture that we couldn't even eat breakfast on. There were loud families everywhere. We were charged a resort fee because they have a gym and pool, hot tubs were over-run with loud children. The Tipsy Trout had laughable portions of food and I was still hungry after eating dinner with an appetizer there. Room service breakfast was exorbitant and not good ($78 for 2 entrees and juice, a terrible bagel). The AC in the room ran constantly more than the thermostat temperature so it was freezing, and the beds were very uncomfortable. I thought the comforters had rosettes in them and then realized that the inner filling was melted into clumps. Maintenance/cleaning closet across the hall from our room was just left open the entire time we were there, like it was deserted. While checking out, I asked the teenager manning the front desk for a simple recommendation of a good bakery nearby and he mumbled something about a cafe that his friend owned that didn't come up on Google-- huh?? Shoutout to the young man valeting cars who was the only friendly and helpful person working here, I think his name was Billy. In summary, not a good value at all anymore to stay here at this price-point. Trying really hard to still be a luxury resort and kind of falling apart at the seams. They had staff manning a new luxury condo sales desk, but not much anywhere else so it seems their focus has shifted.

Beautiful views, outstanding room, extremely clean. Will say that we felt as though we were deemed out if place. But, we traveled there for our special 10 year anniversary, and wanted something nice. Valet seemed to be overwhelmed. Front desk staff was very nice. Concierge seemed like they didn't want to be there.

Hotel was beautiful and staff were accommodating and friendly as well. Valet was fast and helpful. The only downside about the hotel is that the beds are super uncomfortable (coming from someone who sleeps on a firm mattres). Other than that the room was beautiful! We had a studio room and it had a kitchenette which was very useful! Maybe if you’re traveling here bring a mattress topper or request one at the front desk.

The view from the room was great, literally right into the slopes and foliage. Room was very nice and comfortable with a patio, fireplace and king size bed. Could have gone without the overpowering chlorine smell from the pool but that’s just part of it when your room is above the pool I guess. Very polite and courteous staff, the grounds were amazing, and the wilderness feel within was warm and exactly what you’d want it to be. Just plan on bringing some drinks and eats with you unless you desire spending some serious coin inside the grounds for meals and beverages

The only reason I am providing 4 stars is that everything within the hotel is so expensive. However if you get a room with a kitchen you should be able to save some money on food. Service was great and rooms were clean! The ski in and ski out really made it worth it.

I waited three days to write this. I do my best to never leave negative reviews. What bothers me about this place is that no one seems to care. When we arrived at check-in, they told us it was a two hour wait for our room. They sent us to the restaurant which told us promptly that there was no room. When I asked the restaurant where I should go, they suggested I go to the lobby. Went to lobby, and there was no room because there were literally dozens of other families in the same situation. This was at 7 PM. Many of the families I talked to had been there for more than six hours, always being told to it was only 20 more minutes. We ordered room service the next day as we got ready to ski. Then we got a message saying that If we wanted the food we ordered and paid for we would have to go pick it up. Came home from a day of skiing and mysteriously the bed had been made but nothing else has been cleaned. Dirty linen on the floor, dirty dishes in the sink and the trash hadn’t been emptied. It was like someone asked a teenager to clean it. Keys worked sparingly and had to be replaced three times in two days. Kids food was unavailable for kids at dinner time because, as the wait staff told us: “ the person in charge of that isn’t here today.” Listen, I know this reeks of privilege. All of these places are a better day than I probably deserve. But if you’re considering for your family, go somewhere else. It’s not just that it’s a terribly run place, it’s that no one seems to give a d#%n

We went up for the solar eclipse and wow it was neat. The property is great and although it's large it feels manageable. We ate a number of meals on campus and enjoyed them all. We are not skiers so I can't speak to that side of the business. We really enjoyed the outdoor pools and hot tub and having a swimming lane is a nice touch for us triathletes.

The best ski resort in the Northeast. I am shocked at some reviewers' take on this outstanding place. From the valet to every level, the staff is professional, courteous, and thorough in responding to customer needs. The resort is as good as it gets in the Eastern U.S. Gets my unfettered recommendation.

Great location on the mountain, ski in ski out. Also close to great restaurants and an outdoor ice skating rink. It is large and easy to get turned around. Decorated nicely for Christmas, beautiful poinsettia tree figure in the large comfy lobby. The outdoor swimming pool is unique with a small river that starts inside and leads to the pool outside.

Stayed at penthouses and everyone was super helpful and great. Amazing location and service. Dated rooms. Rock hard beds with worse pillows. But they are really spacious and kitchen had all the amenities and it was pretty great for our big group. For the price I really want a comfortable bed, but everything else was so great that I may just pack a mattress topper and my own pillows for next time and still come anyway. Spa is pricey but very delightful and zen. Especially the quiet room overlooking mountain.

My spouse and I stayed here for our 10-year wedding anniversary. Overall, 5 stars, but I marked service as 3 stars for the following: Restaurant breakfast — three of the four mornings, I chose to have the Avocado toast. The first time, the bread was rock hard. The second morning, I asked our server to only have the bread lightly toasted. It was perfect. So the third time, I requested the same but the bread was rock hard again. It was lightly toasted, so it seemed more stale. I could not eat it. Restaurant staff — Chi is an excellent server. She was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and very nice. The other servers we had, primarily at breakfast, were alright. I won’t name names, but it was hard to actually get service. The fourth morning particularly, our server was MIA. We didn’t get water, I had to wait 15 minutes just to get our check. Restaurant dinner — mostly good food. Amazing brussel sprout dish for dinner. Whole roasted cauliflower should be skipped. It was mainly hard and raw with no flavor. Had it not been for some of the restaurant experiences, service would be 5 stars based on the bell staff alone. Every bellman we encountered was extremely friendly and attentive. Justin and Eli are absolute rockstars. Justin knew our names after the first encounter and said hello to us on first-name basis every day he was working. Eli also remembered our names and was very helpful, especially when I dropped my iced tea bottle on the bricks. Our room was lovely. Very comfortable bed, huge, luxurious bath and shower, lovely deck. Very spacious accommodations with a kitchen. The housekeeping team stopped by each day to ask if we needed service. We only went to the pool deck once, but I wish we had more. There is a bar there and a taco truck. The pool seemed a bit cold, but the hot tubs were nice, and there is a fire pit. Location — what a great spot. Close to lots of hiking trails and the beautiful town of Stowe. Easy driving to other areas of Vermont too. A great mountain experience.

The Lodge is a perfectly curated large Mountain-style resort within a ski-type village. Located at the base of Spruce Peak and a short gondola hop via the free gondola to the base of Stowe Montain. The town of Stowe with restaurants, shops other lodging and activities is just a few minutes away by car. At the Lodge ,All room sizes are available to accommodate different size parties, We visited mid June a total of 8 people, 2 families and did not disappoint at any level. If you like nature make sure to bring along hiking footwear and do not miss going to Smuggler's notch falls right off if the 108 road. The restaurants in town are family friendly and well priced specially PieCasa an Italian eatery.

The hotel is nice and modern. Offers a fair amount to do on sight but be prepared to pay, while the cost to stay is on the expensive side if you go to either restaurant you will pay a premium that exceeds the quality of the product. It is nice they do things like live music in the pavilion but they charge $40 a ticket to get in (this is in the middle of the grounds) you would think with the extra resort fees you pay that nothing would require an extra ticket you have to purchase. Bed was comfortable, rooms were nice.

Our stay at Spruce Peak was perfection! From the inviting valet service to the friendly staff at the front desk. Every Spruce employee made us feel right at home. Our rental was beautiful from the furniture to the cozy fireplace. We loved our view and all the amenities of the resort. We enjoyed spending an afternoon at Whistlepig and ordering food from Alpine Hall and Tispy Trout. We do not ski when we come to visit but we really enjoy being up on the mountain. Spruce Peak has everything you need!

We had a pretty disappointing stay at The Lodge at Spruce Peak in December 2023. We had difficulty finding the entrance, so we called the front desk, and the girl had trouble directing us because she was new — she had started 2 days earlier. When we checked in, she sent us the wrong way to the ATM (so we could take out cash to tip the valet and bellman), didn’t know how to make change for us because we could only withdraw 20s, gave us the wrong room number, and told us the room we booked had either a king bed or two queens, when it actually had a king bed or two full beds. We ended up with a room with 2 full beds, which was uncomfortable considering we were traveling as a couple. This was an anniversary trip for us, and we had to sleep separately because the beds were too small. The hostess at Alpine Hall also told us she was new and that she didn’t know what time breakfast was served or whether or not it was complimentary for hotel guests. The next morning, the on-site coffee shop wasn’t delivering to the room, even though that was one of the perks of staying there. We went to the coffee shop, and they didn’t know which baked goods they had when we asked about gluten-free options — they didn’t make any effort to look or find out, either. We had a snowshoeing excursion booked, and when we asked where to check in for it and other details, like if it was good for beginners and how long it lasted, the woman at the front desk (who also told us she was new) didn’t know and the person she asked for help didn’t know much either. Neither of them was able to direct us to where to check in, and the map they gave us had an arrow pointing off the map to the check-in location, which wasn’t helpful. There was nobody at the front desk in our wing of the hotel to ask for help, and nobody answered when we called the booking line, either. We ended up missing the snowshoeing, but we were still charged 50% for it. This place is pretty pricey — it cost us about $300 per night for the most basic room, plus a $45 resort fee per night. On top of that, valet service was $35 per day, and the only other parking option was to park in a paid lot that cost $45 per day. We were expecting an expensive getaway, but the fact that the customer service was so bad and the employees didn’t know any answers to our questions made it completely not worth the money.

What an absolutely gorgeous and pleasant place to stay. We loved our room, the staff were absolutely incredible, and the views are gorgeous! This was the perfect place to relax for our honeymoon with a lot to experience and delicious places to eat nearby!

Overall not the greatest depending on what you’re looking for. If you want privacy and peace and quiet - might not be the best place and unsure we will stay here again. Pros- Beautiful location and extremely convenient for winter sports. Rooms are maintained and clean. We booked a standard room with king size bed but ended up switching rooms due to noise issues. Decent food (prices of drinks and food were overpriced in our opinion). Extremely friendly and willing to help staff who were great to us through the road bumps we experienced. Cons- Maybe it’s just with conjoining rooms but there is absolutely 0 sound proofing. We moved to a different room in hopes to not be next to a family with small children (not at the fault of the families, they’re having fun and enjoying themselves as kiddos do!) so that we wouldn’t be woken up by noise and excited children at 6 or 7am on our vacation. However the staff did their best due to it being a busy weekend and moved us to a smaller less nice room that still was a conjoining room with a young family. So despite everyone’s best efforts the problem remained… this is truly just a problem with the hotel’s infrastructure/ facilities and something to consider before booking here. If you can sleep through any noise or commotion- you’re golden! But if you’re woken up by noise or looking for a quiet and peaceful retreat, might want to consider booking elsewhere if you’re trying to book a similar room to ours. For a spa resort, I would imagine the most attention to detail about fostering a relaxing experience and environment. If you book a room and it’s conjoined, you might as well be staying in the room with the other guests.

For some reason, we thought we had two beds. I don’t even know why we thought that. That was a mistake on our part. Either way we were able to make do with what the room offered. We made a family of four fit in a one king bed, one pullout couch situation with the help of a cot (quickly received via fast service). Fun times. Amazing skiing!!! Kept myself consistently entertained forever even with some rain.

Has a great time during our first visit to Stowe. Staff was friendly and informative. Flights of cider were really fun and the food was delicious. Had the smoked wing and the fried zucchini. Lots of gluten-free options. Will definitely stop by on our next visit.

Stowe Cider was excellent. It was pretty hopping when we visited with live music, and a good queue at the bar which is by the front door. After settling in we found the pub to be much larger with lots of room in the back - and although we went on a rainy night I think there’s an outdoor area. Lots of great hard cider- the Sangria flavor was a favorite and they have a number of other including blueberry, and while we we here a “brainwave” selection of Gummy Bear cider available only at the cidery. Thumbs up for a night out, or just pop in for some cans to go.

This is our must stop place on our snowboarding trips to Stowe every year. Absolutely love the ciders! The dry and not sweet varieties are my favorite. Do not miss trying the peach habanero! Wow!! The new food options are nice addition this year. Jade our server was delightful and we really enjoyed chatting with her. My only disappointment is they don’t have a wholesale distributor yet in Maryland/Delaware beaches where I live 😉. So I have to stock up every time I’m here.

Stowe Cider is always a treat. The staff flight is excellent and I highly recommend the single varietal and the wine barrel aged ciders (of which 2 bottles left with me). Also got a pour of the Tips Up which is just as good as I remember! The food ordering being separated from the cider tasting is a bit awkward and actively resulted in me not ordering food, despite it smelling and looking really good. That being said, would come back to taste more of the drinks.

Top notch ciders! We stopped in to try a few flights and get a taste for nearly their entire menu. We happened to be the only ones there that afternoon which worked out for us. The place was very welcoming and the staff friendly. The ciders were great too, with several imaginative flavors. They had a little live music as well which was fun. Definitely recommend stopping in if you're driving by, or picking up cider from a shop around the region!

We had a nice night visiting Stowe Cider on our anniversary. Ironically the local singer who was playing there that night was signing our wedding song when we walked in! :) The cider is delicious and there is a wide variety of drinks to choose from. The blue raspberry gummy bear infused cider was quite tasty! ;)

Glad we were able to keep this apart of our vacation adventure, the ciders are delicious. I got a seasonal flight and none of the flavors disappointed, my favorite was the blackberry one. Atmosphere was cool watching the people stock up shelves and disassemble palates of stuff for the cidery. Is it a cidery? A brewery is for beer, a winery is for wine, it seems fitting a cidery is for cider, even the crepe place we went to was a crepery. Anyways... It was a great experience. We ordered wings, they were out of jerky, so we got a double of the BBQ, great flavor. Great service. Definitely a great place to check out

It was our first time at Stowe Cider and we’ll definitely be going back. We attended the Jam for the Land it was a great time and very family friendly. The cider was delicious and the food was amazing. We had a little bit of everything including items from the kids menu (grand kids). I can honestly say everything was great. I would definitely recommend this place especially if you like great food, drinks and live music. Oh I can’t forget the staff (Nate) super friendly very knowledgeable and a lot of fun.

Stowe Cider creates the finest ciders that I’ve ever tried. My personal favorites are the High and Dry and Mountain Glow. The facility itself is top notch, including a fantastic music venue, plenty of places to relax, and a helpful friendly staff. The attached restaurant, Shakedown Street, has the best BBQ in town. We enjoyed everything that we tried, the ribs were a standout for me. We enjoyed Stowe Cider so much that we made it our home base on a recent trip to the mountain. We expect to do the same on our next visit!

From NH and visiting our son in Burlington. This wasn't on of our planned stops but so glad we made a last minute decision to check it out! Three of us got seats at the bar and our bartender came over right away and patiently helped me pick out a flight to try! The ciders were delicious but the Hot Mulled Cider was my favorite! Fun atmosphere and fantastic service. We will definitely be back next time we're in VT!

lovely location with lots of unique takes on cider, very lively space during the summer will love to visit during the winter. we ordered the cider flight, i prefer non-dry ciders so we ordered the: Tips up: 8/10 great flavour, wish it was a little more sweet. Spruce Peak: 9/10 most memorable Peach Blackberry: 7/10 Rose: 7/10 Will definitely come back!

Great staff, everyone was friendly. I really liked this place but can't give more stars because they served me a glass that had lipstick stains on it. The variety of ciders is great, I liked the seasonal flavors. I ordered a flight and was having trouble deciding, I appreciated the input from the bartender. This place could also use come more cozy feel. It is very open and lacks the special touches.

Stopped in after a long day of driving and got the seasonal flight, all really good! They’ll let you sample any of their ciders before you get a whole glass which is great. I enjoyed the seasonal ciders so much I got a four pack to take home with me, you can make your own so I got one of each flavor!

Easy walk in the woods with beautiful fall colors. Our dog loved it too. Wear good shoes for hiking there are a lot of gnarly, knotty tree roots. The trails are well maintained and -- special bonus -- its impossible to get lost.

Snowshoed in Weissner Woods today and was so dismayed at the increase in dog waste. Ran into several people and they said the same. In my hour I probably saw over 100 dog waste piles. Sadly I might suggest making it no dogs allowed. I am a dog lover but this was awful! The trails are incredible though.

Nice fairly moderate trail, lots of roots, so watch your step. Very beautiful areas lots of birds to listen to.

Although very easy, one of the most beautiful trails I've ever been. Went there end of October, the leaves were glowing yellow. Very beautiful and friendly walking for children.

Very walkable trail for all ages. It's pretty and the grades aren't too steep. If you're lucky you may see an owl. We saw a huge one in the middle of the afternoon in the old woods.

Excellent hike, very pretty. My dog loved it, and we were both pleasantly surprised by the gnomes.

These beautifully maintained meandering walking paths are ideal for exploring while catching up with an old friend. We started with one loop and wanted to stay longer so we picked up the other paths and walked those loops before we were ready to leave the beauty and quiet of Wiessner Woods

Ridiculously loud. It is as if they don't want anyone to actually be able to read or study. Staff laugh at the top of their lungs, bang on things to emphasize how funny they are and have loud, babbling brook conversations with "patrons" encouraging chatter, walk tourists around talking at the top of their lungs, all of which can be heard from the only "quiet" room which is not insulated and the door is kept open.

This is a great place to spend time browsing books when the weather is too crummy to be outside. They have very comfortable chairs and free wifi access. They also have a good collection of audio books and an even better selection of movies (lots of documentaries).

So adorable, quiet, and has a kind staff. I stayed for a couple hours while passing through town to do some work. They had some great travel books on the area.

Great section for kids, a computer area, a quiet area for adults to read the paper and magazines. They have tons of movie and tv show DVDs. Enjoy the quiet, clean space. Wrote lots of papers during college here.
