Though parking can be tough here, visiting this pass and center and the surrounding area is worth the effort. There are plenty of restrooms and exhibits, indoor and outdoor. The trail to Hidden Lake starts out the back door and is along a boardwalk for a good portion, though I still recommend bringing water and good shoes or well-fitting sandals. There's a couple herds that appear to love the are as well - Bighorn Sheep and Mountain Goat! BTW, visit the Hidden Lake overlook - it's very worth the climb!

Beautiful views in the park there are fields of wildflowers. Beautiful glaciers and Lots of wildlife. Logan Pass is the highest elevation (6646ft/2025m) and is accessible by car. It is really popular with visitors and the parking lot is usually full between 8:30 am sometimes even earlier and 4:00 pm. Consider visiting the park by using the free shuttles to avoid limited parking, or plan to visit early or late in the day if possible. Make sure you wear comfortable shoes and have sunscreen.

Anyone heading to Glacier National Park, Going to the Sun Road and Logan Pass are essentials. Where with friends, family, or solo. While many with make a bee line to Highline Trail, there is much to offer at Logan’s. The hidden lake and panoramic vista’s just past the visitor’s center are breathtaking. Also the overlook viewing area near the entrance to Highline is a must. We love heading up as a family to have a wondrous time playing in the snow in early/mid July. Tossing some snowballs or making frosty’s cousin’s. Also the amazing wildlife, including mountain goats abound!!!

Except information center, busy parking lot and restroom nothing much unless you are here to hike hidden falls overlook or take even more hike to hidden falls or other nearby hikes. You need to walk in full sun so be prepared with everything

Very beautiful place and a good place to park and go on trails. Has public restrooms, plenty of car parking, good trail paths with beautiful mountain views. I’ve visited this place in the month of June and the pass was open to public by then. The road(Going to the Sun road) to this place is one of the most beautiful drives I’ve ever driven. Very narrow roads but it is worth driving till the Logan pass. A must visit place in the Glacier National Park.

Beautiful area & views. Snow was still on the trail in July, towards the end of the trail but before the lake overlook. Appropriate footwear is needed unless you like slip-sliding all the rest of the way. And water hiking sandals aren't sufficient by the way. I look forward to going again with "snow-capable" hiking boots so I can finish the hike. If you don't like taking 30 minutes to find a parking spot at the visitor center, go extra early. :) Also, note that there is not a restroom on the trail...prepare accordingly. Otherwise, enjoy the gorgeous scenery!! 🤩

Logan's pass is a stunning area, whether you're hiking, admiring the view, or checking out the visitor's center. we saw these boys near the parking lot - please make sure to stay back, and never feed the wildlife!

Absolutely worth beating the crowds and heading into the park at 5:30am, especially if you don't have a park pass because then you won't be allowed in until after 3pm. The parking lot at Logan Pass fills up FAST during peak season, and if you go early (5:30am) you can have more unobstructed views of everything. Also, at Logan Pass, you will see people park further and further down the hill and walk up, which seems pretty brutal because it's steep, and you've still got a big hike ahead of you. Be prepared to see animals roaming about on the hike, and please be smart and don't get close.

Lots of animal airings and beautiful breathtaking views. Amazing experience of fairly warm weather with snow. Up hill hike but mostly wooden steps. Hiking shoes are a veni fit due to some slippery snow.

We got there July 22. 7 am. And the parking lot was full. Like FULL! But worry not people do come and go so you ll find a spot soon enough. The hikes are incredible. Views are beautiful. Wildlife if lucky is spectacular. Must do on a vist to the park!

Hands down the most beautiful pass. It actually is a spot for some of the best trails. We entered the park through the West Glacier entrance and took the Going-to-the-Sun Road to reach to Logan pass. The views throughout were immaculate and spectacular. There are multiple overlook points in between that one can stop at and admire. We didn’t have enough time to watch the sunrise but if you have that in your itinerary, Logan pass is the spot. For sunsets I’d recommend Lake McDonald. The trails that we did that started from this pass were Hidden Lake Trail and the Highline Trail. Logan pass is also the spot for the Continental Divide, which separates the Atlantic and Pacific watersheds of North America. If you plan to do the Logan Pass trails make sure you have enough food and water because the trails are long and the visitor centre is only open until 5:15pm. Also make sure you reach there early to save yourself a parking spot because 9/10 times the parking spot is full and you don’t want to waste your time waiting for someone to leave.

Take the Highline trail from here, you won't be sorry..also cool exhibits and swag for the whole family, loads to see and do, don't expect to find a parking spot though, TAKE THE SHUTTLE

Logan Pass is at 6,646 feet where the Going-to-the-Sun-Highway crosses the Continental Divide. It is the highest point on the Going-to-the-Sun-Highway, and roughly 2/3 of the distance across the Park. The scenery is quite beyond words and this is another Must-Do when visiting Glacier National Park. We found that many of our pictures showed mountains with their peaks in the clouds. What we could see was marvelous so I know the rest would be grand too. The Visitor Center is atop the Continental Divide, and from there access is available to the Highline Trail, known for wildflowers during the summer. Access for other trails is there also. The Visitor Center is open mid-June to mid-September and is staffed with helpful rangers and several exhibits. There is also a gift shop. The restrooms are nice and very welcome. We had hoped to enjoy a picnic lunch we brought with us to eat there, but this area is also known for high winds, and this day the wind was frigid. We ate in the car and enjoyed the view from inside. Food service is not available here. There is what seems like a lot of parking, but it is often difficult to find an available place, as this is a busy area.

Lake McDonald is a local favorite, and after doing tons of sessions and elopements at this spot I can't say enough just how beautiful it is! The water is freaking cold, but people do swim, kayak, and paddle board here all the time. Best Sunsets ever!

Beautiful scenery. We went here first week of June so the mountains still had snow. The reflection of the mountains on the lake were breathtaking. Make sure to rent a boat to enjoy the views!

Gorgeous views, clear blue water, and some of the freshest air you’ll breathe. We rented kayaks and spent a few hours paddling the shores on a relatively windy day. It was worth it, but in retrospect probably would’ve rented on a different lake or stream in the park. Ended up stopping along the southern shore and swimming, which was great. Cold, but great. The views of the lake driving up GTS road are phenomenal as well. Overall, worth checking out from the Apgar area. Consider a kayak or boat rental, but be prepared for some wind. And definitely get out for a swim, weather permitting.

One of the most iconic locations in Glacier National Park and for good reason. It’s super easy to access being right next to the airport and the west entrance. It’s absolutely stunning with clear waters and colorful rocks. The sunset views are unbeatable with the lake reflection and gorgeous orange sunshine. A must see if you’re visiting the park.

A double kayak was available to rent in the middle of the day on a Saturday in July. It got moderately windy and we improvised a sail with sticks and wet tshirts 😅

Beautiful lake inside Glacier National Park. The colorful pebbles inside the clear water look beautiful. We found few people kayaking in the lake. Good spot to take pictures and relax outside of the more popular spots inside the national park.

This hike was easy and great for families. It's only about 6 miles round trip just make sure to bring plenty of water and check the weather! This is a great spot for the solo photographer and families! Definitely recommend this hike.

Beautiful trail. Lake is not huge, but it is gorgeous. Hiked it at the end of April 22. Going to sun road was closed, so had to hike from lake McDonald which is a 17 mile hike or so. About 8 miles in and 8 miles out. The last couple miles to lake was in snow.

A must visit place in glacier national park. Absolutely loved the hike to this scenic place. It's a Lil over 2 miles with 600 ft elevation and a moderate hike to this stunning lake. Reach the parking lot early to save time looking for parking spots as it fills up real quick.

At the end of Avalanche Lake trail which is 2.24 Miles from parking lot you get to this beautiful lake with multiple cascading waterfalls dropping for surrounding mountains into the lake. You can also walk a trail along side the lake. The views are worth the 2.24 Miles walk.

We visited this place in July 2022. This trail is located on the West Entrance on Going To The Sun Road. To drive on this road, you will need a pass. If you don't have one, go to recreation.gov The park makes 1k tickets available the night before and it cost $2.00 If you don't have a pass, they will not let you in. Also if your vehicle is longer than 21 ft, they will turn you around. To those who have a longer RV, there is a campground outside St. Mary Entrance that will accommodate you. Read the review I did of that RV park. We stayed there for 4 nights. We also stayed on a campground outside the park on the west side of Glacier, Big Creek Campground. Read the review I did of that place. It may help you decide to camp there if you can't camp inside the park due to the length of your vehicle or RV. There is way to get in if you don't have a pass. You can either get in before 6am or after 4pm. They do that to control the traffic and not congest the roads nor parking lots. After 4pm most people have left the park. This keeps the traffic going. This is a famous NP and thousands visit it. There is a check point where they verify your park entrance, your pass and the length of your vehicle. You can buy bear spray for $50.00. I know right or rent one at the Apgar Village. I don't know the prices. We learned that you can rent them as we were leaving the park. So we brought home with us the unused $50 bear spray. Now, let's review the trail itself! This trail is located on the Lake Mcdonald Valley area which is closer to the West Entrance. This is a must trail in my opinion. You should get to the parking lot early, I mean 6am early. The parking lot holds about 25 to 30 cars. We got there at 6am and it was halfway full. You can definitely do this with the kids. You start at the trail of the cedars and go onto the Avalanche Lake. You walk through the forest so you don't get that much panoramic views of the park, but once yiu get to the lake, you'll take in all the beauty before you. You can actually spend the entire day at the lake if you want. Had we known, we could've brought some chairs, more snacks, water shoes, sunscreen, and some inflatable tubes. As we were heading to the lake, we saw a few people carrying inflatable tubes. Whe we got there I realized the reason. There are 2 beach like areas where you can sit on the sand or your chairs in the shade, and float on the still lake with almost no current near the beach area. I wished we knew that. We would've stayed longer. I would definitely do this trail again .

Amazing hike with amazing lake on top. Lots of people on the trail. It’s hard to find parking lot spots but if you come early in the morning, you’ll be well off. Took a dip in the lake and it’s nice and chillly. The trail is mostly shaded and was wet because it rained a lot. Lots of people on the first beach but if you go to the opposite side of the lake you can avoid the crowds and swim since it’s deeper on the back end

Overall easy hike to get to the lake. Definitely worth going early enough to see the sun rise over the mountains. Moments of going uphill, and rough terrain. Pit toilets at the lake are available, bring your own toilet paper/sanitizer. Get to the trailhead early - parking was limited by 645 and trail was busy by 830.

Beautiful! If you are only going to do one moderate difficulty hike on a trip to Glacier then I recommend doing this one. Bring adequate water and a snack to enjoy sitting next to the lake. There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy the waterfalls flowing into the boxed-in lake. The water is cool so bringing some water shoes and having a swimsuit under your hiking clothes is a good idea. The water is clear but you will kick up dirt walking around in it. Watch out for the chipmunks when you have food since they can be very aggressive.

A moderate 4 mile round trip hike. This is a beautiful hike that includes rushing steams, dense forest, stunning waterfalls, and a magnificent lake. Accessible virtually year around. This hike scenery changes with the seasons. Parking may be a pain, but the hike is worth it!

We went for day hike to Avalanche Lake in west side of the Glacier National Park. The trail begins alongside Avalanche creek and small waterfall. One hour round trip but Worth it. The view is spectacular with couple of waterfalls.

Beautiful ending to a beautiful hike. It’s a must see! We saw a bald Eagle, black bear, and chipmunks while visiting.

Beautiful but busy. Absolutely worth the 6 mile hike (and even the extra 2 miles when there's no parking nearby). There's a bit of elevation, so do your research and plan ahead. We stopped to put our feet in the water at the end, and seen a bear on the way back. Highly recommended when visiting Glacier National Park.

Beautiful, difficult hike for beginners. Well worth it. Got to see some moose at the bottom of the first lake, some deer halfway up and a grizzly bear at the top. The views are gorgeous all the way up.

This was the most beautiful hike of my life. I can save you the long story just by saying it's gorgeous from start to finish. It's moderate to hard though. It's a long hike all the way to the Glacier and although it's a lot of gradual elevation gain, it's a lot of elevation gain and there are sections of steps which becomes a killer workout on a warm day. If you want to just see the beautiful scenery all around and just turn back when you're tired, I think you'd still love doing this. The end when you reach the Glacier is absolutely worth it if you have the time and energy to make it all happen. We got into the park at 530am to avoid needing a reservation and to get a parking spot at the trailhead. For us it was worth it and however you choose to do this hike, it's absolutely incredible. *There are restrooms at the trailhead and a single water station to fill up.

I was a little worried because my wife and I are not particularly athletic and definitely one of the slower people on the trail. Even so, we made it to the top without much issue. Definitely a workout but there was nothing too extreme about the hike that made it impossible for us. The gradual incline was definitely a plus and the quarter mile steep incline we just took frequent breaks. Saw several bighorn sheep. Glacier was amazing. Despite it being so popular there was enough space for all to enjoy. Water is freezing. I dipped my feet in and had to take it out after 15 seconds. Overall took us a little over 3 hrs one way. We spent 2 hrs at the glacier. It is unshaded and does get hot in the afternoon so highly recommend to start early. Also trail gets narrow so much better to go up when there is no foot traffic coming down. There are sections where there are sheer cliff drops but I never felt unsafe. Highly recommend and totally feel accomplished that we were able to do it :)

Visited early Sep. This is one of the most scenic hikes in Glacier NP. Saw a ram and a mountain goat on the trail. The glacier lake is just so amazing and unusual with "bloody pond". The lake is big and at the far end is still snow covered, but could see the crevasses as snow was melting. This is a must hike!!

Aug 2021. The best trail in Glacier. Hands down. Views are spectacular throughout and breathtaking at the top. It’s a difficult trail and long. But so worth it. Sadly, the Glacier will be gone too soon so take the opportunity if you can. The hike is approx 11 miles long round trip from the Many Glacier Hotel. There is an option to take a boat trip to shave off about 1 1/2 miles each way but we walked. The first few miles aren’t hard as you gradually climb up but the last few miles to the top are difficult especially the last 1/2 mile. Well worth the push at the end. Don’t turn around until you get to the top. The hike took a group of 6 a little over 3 hours on the way up as we stopped to take pictures (and take a break). The trip back down took us 2 1/2 hours. Water, bear spray and good shoes are needed. Trail is narrow with steep drop off throughout. You will get water run off from the mountain side so it will likely be slippery in some areas. Leave plenty of time to get back - we saw a number of individuals and pairs heading up around 4:30 and with the sun setting behind one of the peaks, the return trip in dusk or later can be dangerous (wildlife, gravel, slippery sections, etc.). We were fortunate to see a family of mountain goats on the return trip and wisely backed up to a wider section to let them pass as they had the right of way…and also saw a pair of Rams near the top. It is not uncommon to see grizzlies about 1 1/2 miles in - and on the day we went, one side of the trail around Lake Josephine was actually closed when we started because of bears so be alert. Highly recommended.

One of the best hikes inside Glacier National park. The hike is strenuous and slightly dangerous since towards the end we have to hike along the slopes on ice. We were followed by a group of Grizzly bear and it’s cubs on the trail. It was scary. But the views were just breathtaking and beautifully serene.

They say this Glacier will be gone in 8 -13 years so, don't miss your chance. This is one of the most beautiful hikes in Glacier National Park. Hike is challenging and should be planned as all day event. If you like extreme and you there in the summer swimming is and option but for everyone else - dipping you lags in will make you feel like you didn't hike at all and way back will be much easier. There is also lake in the beginning of the hire and swimming there is great way to complete this hike.

Beautiful trail. Best to start in the morning due to high traffic later during the day. Saw some Grizzly, moose (from a distance) and a ram. The glacier lunch view was phenomenal. A must hike for the Glacier NP.

This trail was awesome! Got to the trailhead around 1030am and it wasn't too packed since it's up in Many Glacier. This hike is long but the ascent is gradual just make sure to bring plenty of water and check the weather. This is a great hike for the solo photographer. Definitely recommend!

Relatively easy hike up to Iceberg Lake and a more difficult hike up to Ptarmigan Tunnel. Both can accomplished in the same day, and both destinations are very worth the effort!! Iceberg Lake was glacial blue water with actual icebergs floating and breaking apart even into August, surrounded by an imposing cliff wall! There are waterfalls to view along the way, as well as spectacular views towards Swiftcurrebt Pass! Ptarmigan Trail takes you through green pines and flowered meadows, above a blue-tinted lake to what looks like a door to LOTR's Moria. Through the door, passage through the dark tunnel leads to a well-made shelf trail against a much more red landscape, equally epic in depth of features. Stroll down the trail just a bit along the wall, look back, and see a couple-hundred foot waterfall streaming off a high-elevation glacier.. a scene that is hard to beat!!

Awesome hike and great reward at the end. Bring your swimsuit, we did, and we loved it. Keep your eyes open for moose, oh and of course bear.

Completed the hike on 7/15/22. See highlights of the hike on my IG @fungtional. Everything was open when we hiked it and we were pretty lucky because the trail was closed the next day due to bear activity. They usually place signs and rope closures if they ever close the trail. I recommend texting GNPTRAILS to 333111 so the park can send updates about trail closures, especially since internet service is nearly nonexistent at the park. This was the most scenic hike of the park, imo (we hiked Grinnell, Iceberg Lake, Hidden Lake, and Avalanche Lake (Highline was still closed)). The hike was long, but wasn’t particular difficult, since there wasn’t significant elevation gain. There was quite a bit of snow and snowmelt at the end of the trail, so highly recommend trekking poles and sturdy hiking boots to avoid slipping. It’s definitely worth it to reach the end. Highly recommend a sunrise hike. On a clear day the sun crests the opposing eastern mountain, illuminating the peak tips in a fiery red.

Easy but beautiful trail. We completed this hike on Sep 12, 2022. This trail is on eastern Glacier. The lake is serene and grand. We were told the trail was closed the day before our visit due to grizzly. Found wild berries and a bear paw print alo g the trail.

Out of this world. Absolutely breathtaking. It’s a challenging hike but worth it. First 1/4 mile is uphill but then the ascent is steady. Saw a Moose at the lake and a black bear up on the rocks above the trail. Lots of people on trail.

Hiked this trail in 2019 and NPS said there were 700+ people on the trail at the time but it was July 4th weekend, so it was expected to be busy. I was one of the lucky ones to work in the Park for the summer and film some pretty amazing areas. My coworker and I were on our way back, from the lake, when we encountered a young black bear right on the trail. I was behind him checking out my pics when he suddenly said "Bear, on the trail in front of us". My hand went straight to my bear spray but was n't needed for the youngster, possibly a 2-3 year old, departed as soon as it touched down on the trail. My friend got some nice pics, I was too slow on the draw. - Awesome hike, lots to see, superb scenery and don't hike looking at your pics until you get back to the car, you might miss something super. This is bear, moose, cougar, wolverine, elk, Mountain goat country folks, make sure you take some bear spray, it is good insurance.

The lake is amazing. The water is a beautiful turquoise. It's a must see if you are in the Many Glacier Area of Glacier National Park. The hike can be considered challenging. It's a 4 8 mile hike to reach the lake and it's a lot of elevation gain. The entire hike is beautiful. There are amazing mountin views. As you get closer the trail overlooks a very scenic valley. There are plenty of spots to sit and rest once you reach the lake.

We came over to this area of the park for a long day of hiking and it did not disappoint. On our drive in, we saw a grizzly bear cub on the side of the road fairly close which was cool. We stopped at the information center and found out that the Grinell Glacier trail was closed part way up because of snow. Because of that, we decided to do the Iceberg Lake trail instead. The start of our hike was quite foggy so we couldn't see the tops of the mountains. Right as we approached Iceberg Lake the fog lifted to reveal gorgeous views. The lake was absolutely stunning. The hike back revealed great views of the surrounding mountains that we couldn't see on the way there. The hike itself was about 9 miles round-trip, a little shorter than the signs said. It started out pretty steep, but it leveled out pretty quickly. The way there was almost all uphill, but it was a fairly gentle climb. I would absolutely recommend this hike and I'm sure there are many others that are great at Many Glacier as well.

Amazing hike and beautiful lake. A lot of view points on the way and wildlifes (squirrel, butterflies). There are still some icebergs (07/21). Make sure you have bug spray!

We got to Many Glacier by 8am and parked by the lodge. Because of this the hike ended up being about 14miles. The first half mile passed the trailhead is quite uphill but after that it’s a fairly moderate hike. Views along the trail were stunning. We went in mid-June so the last half mile we had trudge through snow. It was quite slippery without hiking poles. The lakes were beautiful. Iceberg Lake still mostly frozen, but it was a nice spot to stop, rest, and have lunch.

Nice lake with good trail going around it. You can also rent a boat or hop on a boat tour to better explore the area. From the lake you will have a good view on the Many Glacier hotel and you might be able to reach Lake Josephine (closed now due to weather conditions).

Beautiful lake. We rented kayaks from the hotel and had the lake pretty much to ourselves that morning. Lake was calm, weather was perfect, views of the surroundings mountains were fantastic. We were there in August, which I think is the best time to go.

Really nice experience! Many trails with different levels of difficulties available. We saw a bear cub on the trail, and he did not have any intent of attacking people. The restaurant is good. The lake is so beautiful and worth kayak.

Beautiful lake, but expect to see lots of people and packed parking lots. But at least make the quick stop to check out the lake and falls.

Great view @ Many Glaciers

This is a beautiful lake right next to the Many Glaciers Hotel and right before Lake Josephine. There are a few hikes that you can do that go around it or a ferry that goes across. If you are hiking the Grinnell Glacier hike, you will also pass right next to it. Make sure to bring your binoculars and a camera, and watch for wildlife, it is everywhere.

The serenity of Two Medicine Lake will spellbound you. This side of glacier NP is not as crowded as all other parts of Glacier. Tourist do not come here so much so lot of peace and quiet. The water is very calm and you can see in the pictures the reflection is so beautiful. We kayaked on this lake due to my son’s insistence but we do not regret it at all. One of the best experiences we had in Glacier NP

Visited mid May and the road was open, but due to the amount of snow in April all upper trails were not accessible. However, the lake was still beautiful being frozen.

Very beautiful lake close to the east entrance of Glacier National park. A scenic boat ride is available ( book your spot before you go). Lots of hiking trails to explore. Great view. If you are lucky you can spot some wildlife too. There is a small convenience store available. You can order hot food ( there are a few choices )& coffee over there. The parking lot is big & washroom facilities are available close to the parking lot.

A hidden gem! We were mesmerized with the view and were wondering why we haven’t heard more of this side of glacier. The boat ride was a very wonderful experience, as well.

Thanks to Yellowstone flooding， this park gets more crowded this year ! But it is gorgeous!

Spent a great day around the Medicine Lake area. Lots of great hiking. Saw some great wildlife, beautiful lakes, peaks, valleys, GNP has it all - just bring your bear spray if using the trails.

Beautiful lake! Took the boat tour and did the guided twin falls. Wasn’t super impressed with the fall but pretty cool walking in the forest.

I took a family of six on the boat ride on Two Medicine Lake for only $85. Is an excellent value! I wish we had known that they would drop us off at the other end of the lake. We would have done the hiking trail if we had known ahead of time. Even if you're not hiking, the boat ride is incredible. The boat is almost 100 years old but is pristine and recently restored. The sliding windows made it easy to take photographs. Our captain, was a young lady in a early 20s, who allowed us to spend time at the front of the boat taking pictures! She was very knowledgeable about the lake, the boat, and the history of the area. She even had a few good jokes! If you found this review helpful, please hit the like button!

Awesome scenic place close to the east entrance. There are a lot of campgrounds and picnic spots. There are some quiet fishing spots. People can take the boat ride tour which has a 45 person capacity but you have to reserve your place asap. There are kayaks and other motor boating options too. A lot of natural trails and hikes are there too which are moderate to difficult. If you go for hiking during the summer take a bug spray or repellent.

Beautiful! Fun to swim. Very windy the day we were there, but what a nice walk to the closevy peninsula on a private less windy beach.

One of my favorite sport in Glacier National park. All hiking trails around are great and the boat ride is worth it , you learn so much !

Open area walking till St Marys so be prepared for sun and all. If you’re in doubt whether to continue to virgina falls then you should definitely go there. Its a bit hike from here but you will be in shade and final views were worth the effort.

Beautiful little waterfall that’s a short hike from going to the sun road. Great location for photo taking opportunities. Nice flat platform to enjoy the water rushing by while eating snacks or food. We even came and there was a dead tree that was suspended in the air that was strong enough to support the weight of an adult for some unique pictures.

Beautiful hike in Saint Mary. East Glacier is absolutely breathtaking.

St. Mary's Falls is a nice waterfall along a pleasant, and relatively easy hike. You will enjoy the contrasting colors of the water and rocks, the scenery, the cool mountain air, and the natural features. I also really enjoyed the wildfire remains and the signs of nature reemerging.

Easy hike from parking lot. About 1.2 miles one way. Little bit of elevation coming back but nothing crazy. Everyone should be able to do it. Most of the people stop here and come back but if you want to see more amazing fall then go about another 0.8 miles to Virginia falls which is amazing. No crowds there and it is bigger and beautiful fall. It has some elevation but totally worth it.

Great trail that it is not too strenuous or long that provides great views of multiple waterfalls, some of which are not even named on the trails. That is one important item to keep in mind as if you are doing this trail in conjunction with Virginia Falls, make sure that you go far enough. We made the mistake of turning around too early after seeing some pretty amazing other waterfalls that we thought were Virginia Falls but ended up not being it after later looking at photos.

This is one of the most beautiful areas I have ever been. It feels something out of a fairytale. I took a jump off the bluff from past the bridge. The water was so COLD! I highly recommend the jump if you can handle the cold water and swim to the path back up. Make sure to leave the glasses behind. 🤦‍♂️. The water is so clear and bright blue as it come down the rocks. It can be a hard time finding a parking spot but there are several parking areas a little farther away that give you access through the trails. It can add around a mile using the other parking areas. It is so worth the effort getting here.

Fairly easy hike to a scenic falls! We enjoyed a quick snack while sitting on the rocks near the water. It wasn't too crowded for a Saturday morning and found parking quickly. We wanted to go on to Virginia Falls but one of us was developing a little sickness so we had to turn around at Saint Mary Falls, but still a very rewarding and easy hike!

Great hike with options! We stopped further ahead to check out Baring falls. Then drove and stopped at St. Mary's. It was late so we did not continue to Virginis falls sadly but were told the extra .08 miles were worth it. Easy walk down. Easy minus the last stretch out. BEAUTIFUL WALK!!

Short and easy trail to the waterfall if you’ve been doing harder trails earlier

We stumbled upon this amazing trailhead with waterfall while heading towards two medicine lake. The waterfall is peaceful and serene. The hike is easy with no change in elevation. I saw few people fish here. The wildlife is friendly. The story tied to this place is really interesting.

This is a quick >1 mile hike that is very level to a beautiful waterfall that has a "trick" to it. When the water is heavy, it gushes over the top, but on lower water days, like the day I visited, it travels through a tunnel. Read the story about Running Eagle before you take the walk and it will have a little more meaning and special quality about the falls.

Amazing & powerful falls with a nice easy hike to them..

Running Eagle Falls is a fun waterfall to view as it flows through a cave before emerging on lower water levels. When high water volume flows it covers up this cave with a wall of water pouring over the upper cliff.

So peaceful. Sudden storms may occur (be prepared). Limited parking spots. It's better if you have non-motorized water craft so you can enjoy this Lake in the fullest.

Down a long, one lane, dusty dirt road through forest and meadow, lies a lake near the most remote corner of GNP, and it is pretty! The campground was full yet quiet, except near the lake, and the restrooms were surprisingly pleasant. The water was clear and cold, and the lake bed was covered in pebbles that were great for skipping on the glassy surface!

Incredibly beautiful lake surrounded by mountains. It is worth driving on gravel roads to get there. I wish I had my kayak, but we just went for the view. The water was cold but guys were in the water fishing and some were kayak. It is crystal clear. You have to drive past Polebridge Mercantile, so be sure to stop there for a bite to eat. The place is peaceful and views are incredible.

Beautiful and worth the drive on the washboard road. Tip...if you have 4wd, turn it on...if you are able to drive closer to the speed limit, the bumps are actually easier to go over that way.

Nice quiet area of GNP. Not as easy to get to as some of the other areas in GNP, but I guess that is why it is more quiet. Very nice mostly flat trail along the lake. Bring your bear spray for safety.

True gem of Glacier National Park. The road out in amazing and has recently been redone. Be sure to stop in Polebridge for a sandwich and some snacks. The drive out takes a bit. Lots of gravel. Luckily we had the protections on our rental car so we didnt worry. When you pull into the campsite there's lots of options for terrain and mainly spots to choose from. I'd suggest arriving early on a Thursday or Friday if you're wanting to get a good spot as it can be busy. There are trails around the lake and other smaller lakes you can hike to. At night be sure to step out and look up at the stars. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Awesome experience visiting this lake, road to the lake was rough but was not difficult to drive. Be cautious while driving, if you are not used to drive on rough roads and also while if it rained or raining. Few suggestions: You have to choose bowman lake campground for navigation for google maps. Make sure to have a offline maps downloaded. Come before 9 AM if you plan to spend a day there or after 2 PM. Or else you might not be able to find parking or enter the park. I went there around 10 AM and waited until 12 PM to get inside For food, either pack yourself a lunch or get a food from polebridge. Pack yourself swimwear as it will be tempting yo get into water. Bring water shoes if you like to walk around the lake in water.

This place is great. Not crowded and very tranquil.the round to get here is so-so but not terrible. Numa Lookout is challenging hike but well worth the effort. And there is Ranger Fire Spotting Scope at the end of the hike. If Ranger is there it is your lake day because they my show you inside and explain how fire spitting works and show you incredible ancient trech they use. Swimming in the lake at the beach by parking lot is very nice. Fishing is also great.

Such an awesome sight at for sunrise. You can likely get here with a regular car but you have to drive slow.

Such a beautiful lake. If you dont get there very early you will most likely have to bike or walk the 5 mile rd. Which is a journey in its own. I recommend the bike ride. Lot gets full fast. Beautiful trails all around. Very quiet.

This visitor center is really pretty. If you are staying in whitefish or Kalispell , this will be the visitor center from where you will enter the park for Going to the sun road . They have nice and clean restrooms & decent amount of parking. It is close to Apgar village and Lake McDonald. You do not need to buy any tickets. It is invited in National park pass.

A good kicking off point for your glacier vacation. If you bring kids, ask the staff for a junior ranger guidebook that they can fill out. After they are done, turn it back in for a junior ranger badge. Head down to apgar village for good beaches and some specialty shops. It's a nice spot for relaxing after a good hike.

Pulled in late, the camp host had a sign of possible available sites for the night with the instructions of paying by 9am the following morning. No electricity but there was a shower house, clean bathrooms, food storage boxes, and fresh water spickets. Very wooded and deep in the woods with tons of trails. Nature at its finest here!! McDonald Creek leading into McDonald Lake.

Apgar Visitor Center is just about like every other visitor center in the National Park Service! It has a nice assortment of souvenirs as well as info about the park. The rangers our front were helpful but didn't talk much- almost like they were in a way hiding something.

Helpful, friendly staff, had general questions about the Park considering limitations on the vehicle I was driving. This time of year, October is when I consider the best to visit. Limited crowds, beautiful Autumn Colors and nice brisk weather….

The Vistor center to Glacier National Park was very nice. You would certainly not feel like you wasted your time visiting Apgar Visitor center while you are in Glacier National Park

Of all the visitor centers we did at Glacier National Park, this had the most helpful rangers for planning your park experience. As this visitors center is on the west side of the park, it gets the most traffic compared to the Easter side of the park. So be prepared to wait a few as their is generally a line to talk to the rangers. There is a small gift shop on site for suvioners and clean restrooms.

Very informative. Ranger stations and visitor centers have rangers giving programs. Amphitheater also has programs each night during season. Right at McDonald Lake with its amazing beauty, stop by.

Visitor center has lots of parking including rvs. Catch shuttle from here to your location. Staff was very helpful. Beautiful scenery and already smell the fresh air!

Great spot to start or end your day with clean bathrooms, free charging station (with chargers included), a shop, filtered water for refilling your own bottles or bladders, maps available outside, a decent amount of cell service for most carriers and access to WiFi! Do note- you will only be able to access 30 min of WiFi a day as the park wants to encourage visitors to get out in nature. Walking distance to McDonald lake and the village next to it.

First, it was the second time visiting this beautiful national park. Such an amazing place with a beautiful road, under some interesting maintenance. While it is worth noticing the increase in visitors from all over the globe and locals, it provides the peace and warm for your soul. As for this place call Apgar Visitor Center, wifi is great, but seats not very confy. It is against federal law to plug your personal devices in any, any, but any electricity charging station. Was told, " it is not allow to use federal electrical outlets" such offense, as experienced, comes with a so call owner of such federal building, telling those progresive and last words. While it is great to see public and free transportation, it is not great to experienced rude and merciless park rangers. Such experience wont be forgotten, as it reminds me of those colourful pictures attached.

You have to stop by the visitor center to get all the latest on the drive or bus schedule. Lots of information, clean bathrooms and a water bottle fill station.

Center is nice, park Rangers are really trying to provide a good experience. At this time 08 2021, from 6AM to 5PM you need proof of a reservation of an activity in the park to even get to the entrance gate. Road to the sun shuttle pass or a private activity. Don't think you can slip in, you will be turned away if you don't have reservation. Parking is very hard to find in the park if you are thinking of not using the shuttle. This seems obvious with the park name, but at the pass it is cold. Be prepared for near 30's while looking at the snow on the spectacular mountain peaks.

A great place if you are into wildlife and specifically looking to spot a moose. You are more likely to see them in the morning, but if you don't see any the first try, don't hesitate to try again a second time, which is what it took for us to get some amazing views of a moose playing in the lake.

Fishercap Lake is a beautiful lake in Glacier National Park which is a short hike from Swiftcurrent Motor Inn where my family stayed (as well as several other accommodations including a campground). Although moose are frequently spotted in the lake, especially in the evening and early morning, we unfortunately did not see any. However, the early morning reflections were phenomenal. I only wish I had taken my wide angle lens with me. Be sure to do so if you visit in the early morning!

It was a easy and short hike to the lake. Since it’s an easy and short hike, it’s easily accessible by everyone so expect some people here. Even with more people it still was pretty clean and offered excellent views of the surrounding landscape. This is also a good place I heard for spotting moose, and they’re not lying cause we saw a moose.

This is such an amazing lake! Very short walk from the campground and every night there was moose on the water. We even had one night of two cow moose at the same time, and one night of a bull moose! If you scan the hills around it you can even spot bear, deer, and mountain goats. Bring binoculars and a camera. Always watch for bears!

Not the largest or most scenic waterfall in the park, but it's worth seeing if you are already planning on hiking to Fishercap Lake in an attempt to see moose. And if you plan on making it to Redrock Falls, it's worth going a little further to Bullhead Lake, which is another spot that you can frequently spot moose, either by the lake or hidden among the brush, which was the case for us.

Nice stroll, not steep or to long. There are beautiful views along the way of lakes, I saw a moose run across the trail on this hike!

This was an amazing hike. The trail was in great condition. Along the hike to Red Rock Falls we heard of a big bull moose at the first lake and took the detour. From what the rangers told us it is common to see them in the area feeding in the lakes. This was such a great animal to see. The falls had several areas to sit and watch the water make it way down towards the lake. We found a nice spots for lunch and I took a VERY COLD swim after right at the bottom waterfall. I highly recommend a dip in this water. It will leave you feeling great for the rest of the day.

It is approximately a 4-1/2 mile round trip easy hike with an elevation gain of about 280’ to these lovely falls from the Swiftcurrent Trailhead. It is easy to climb up and around to see the several levels of the falls. And, of course, you get to enjoy all of the beautiful Glacier National Park scenery along the way.

Nestled within the stunning backdrop of towering mountains, dense forests, and crystal-clear lakes, the waterfall is a natural wonder with its striking beauty and serene ambiance. Though not towering in stature, it still holds its own unique charm and beauty.

Perfect way to spend an afternoon! Mostly easy trail for those with some mobility issues. Gorgeous views. Lake and reflections are beautiful, and falls are not large, but are picturesque. Fall foliage was lovely as well. Mountains are stunning.

We visited this place in July 2022. This waterfall trail is located on the Many Glacier Entrance side of the park. There are 3 trails that begin in the same area. So watch out for the one you want to go. This trail forn the most park is easy. You walk though thick forest area which means not great panoramic views of the vast park. There are some overgrown areas but aren't that intrusive. You can take your kids on this trial, we did, since it was just 1.8 miles one way from the parking lot with an elevation gain of just 200 ft. Once you make it to the falls, there is plenty of places to sit and enjoy the view and the sound of the water hitting the rocks. The kids loved to explore the area and walked around the top of the waterfall fall where you can go as well and see a nice clean turquoise pool. The kids let us there lol. I woul say this waterfall is the one where the kids really explored. I would recommend this to the entire family. A bit long but not bag of elevation gain.

Red Rock falls are part of the swiftcurrent trails, which initially might throw people off looking for it. The hike itself is not hard, with only a few elevation changes that are not that steep. On our hike, there were 3 different moose alongside the trial. One crossed in front of our group and stayed close for photos. At the falls, there are two viewing areas. The first is at the falls lower side, which is where the main trial takes you. The upper brink of the falls viewing area can be done by a little rock climb trial or circiling back to come in on a back trial. None of them or technical, but if anyone has mobility issues, it might be a struggle. Late spring, the falls will be roaring and can be heard from sccross the lake at times as you hike toward them.

Pretty easy hike to the falls. The red rock is unique as there isn’t much rock this color around. That being said, the hike is kinda boring as you are walking through thick forest most of the way without much break for views. The trail continues onto swift current pass if you want.

Easy hike to the fall via swiftcurrent pass trail. Is has red rocks at the fall and also in the lake which look amazing. Trail itself is not hard and about 2 miles. We saw a bull moose on the other side of the lake which was pretty cool. We had seen a cow moose and a baby earlier just getting into the park so it was amazing to see some wildlife. Don’t forget to bring some bug spray. There are ton of mosquitoes in glaciers park. I didn’t expect mosquitoes in this environment but there are ton of them. I don’t think I even saw so many in Florida Everglades.

This trail was awesome! Got to the trailhead around 1030am and it wasn't too packed since it's up in Many Glacier. This hike is long but the ascent is gradual just make sure to bring plenty of water and check the weather. This is a great hike for the solo photographer. Definitely recommend!

Relatively easy hike up to Iceberg Lake and a more difficult hike up to Ptarmigan Tunnel. Both can accomplished in the same day, and both destinations are very worth the effort!! Iceberg Lake was glacial blue water with actual icebergs floating and breaking apart even into August, surrounded by an imposing cliff wall! There are waterfalls to view along the way, as well as spectacular views towards Swiftcurrebt Pass! Ptarmigan Trail takes you through green pines and flowered meadows, above a blue-tinted lake to what looks like a door to LOTR's Moria. Through the door, passage through the dark tunnel leads to a well-made shelf trail against a much more red landscape, equally epic in depth of features. Stroll down the trail just a bit along the wall, look back, and see a couple-hundred foot waterfall streaming off a high-elevation glacier.. a scene that is hard to beat!!

Awesome hike and great reward at the end. Bring your swimsuit, we did, and we loved it. Keep your eyes open for moose, oh and of course bear.

Completed the hike on 7/15/22. See highlights of the hike on my IG @fungtional. Everything was open when we hiked it and we were pretty lucky because the trail was closed the next day due to bear activity. They usually place signs and rope closures if they ever close the trail. I recommend texting GNPTRAILS to 333111 so the park can send updates about trail closures, especially since internet service is nearly nonexistent at the park. This was the most scenic hike of the park, imo (we hiked Grinnell, Iceberg Lake, Hidden Lake, and Avalanche Lake (Highline was still closed)). The hike was long, but wasn’t particular difficult, since there wasn’t significant elevation gain. There was quite a bit of snow and snowmelt at the end of the trail, so highly recommend trekking poles and sturdy hiking boots to avoid slipping. It’s definitely worth it to reach the end. Highly recommend a sunrise hike. On a clear day the sun crests the opposing eastern mountain, illuminating the peak tips in a fiery red.

Easy but beautiful trail. We completed this hike on Sep 12, 2022. This trail is on eastern Glacier. The lake is serene and grand. We were told the trail was closed the day before our visit due to grizzly. Found wild berries and a bear paw print alo g the trail.

Out of this world. Absolutely breathtaking. It’s a challenging hike but worth it. First 1/4 mile is uphill but then the ascent is steady. Saw a Moose at the lake and a black bear up on the rocks above the trail. Lots of people on trail.

Hiked this trail in 2019 and NPS said there were 700+ people on the trail at the time but it was July 4th weekend, so it was expected to be busy. I was one of the lucky ones to work in the Park for the summer and film some pretty amazing areas. My coworker and I were on our way back, from the lake, when we encountered a young black bear right on the trail. I was behind him checking out my pics when he suddenly said "Bear, on the trail in front of us". My hand went straight to my bear spray but was n't needed for the youngster, possibly a 2-3 year old, departed as soon as it touched down on the trail. My friend got some nice pics, I was too slow on the draw. - Awesome hike, lots to see, superb scenery and don't hike looking at your pics until you get back to the car, you might miss something super. This is bear, moose, cougar, wolverine, elk, Mountain goat country folks, make sure you take some bear spray, it is good insurance.

The lake is amazing. The water is a beautiful turquoise. It's a must see if you are in the Many Glacier Area of Glacier National Park. The hike can be considered challenging. It's a 4 8 mile hike to reach the lake and it's a lot of elevation gain. The entire hike is beautiful. There are amazing mountin views. As you get closer the trail overlooks a very scenic valley. There are plenty of spots to sit and rest once you reach the lake.

We came over to this area of the park for a long day of hiking and it did not disappoint. On our drive in, we saw a grizzly bear cub on the side of the road fairly close which was cool. We stopped at the information center and found out that the Grinell Glacier trail was closed part way up because of snow. Because of that, we decided to do the Iceberg Lake trail instead. The start of our hike was quite foggy so we couldn't see the tops of the mountains. Right as we approached Iceberg Lake the fog lifted to reveal gorgeous views. The lake was absolutely stunning. The hike back revealed great views of the surrounding mountains that we couldn't see on the way there. The hike itself was about 9 miles round-trip, a little shorter than the signs said. It started out pretty steep, but it leveled out pretty quickly. The way there was almost all uphill, but it was a fairly gentle climb. I would absolutely recommend this hike and I'm sure there are many others that are great at Many Glacier as well.

Amazing hike and beautiful lake. A lot of view points on the way and wildlifes (squirrel, butterflies). There are still some icebergs (07/21). Make sure you have bug spray!

We got to Many Glacier by 8am and parked by the lodge. Because of this the hike ended up being about 14miles. The first half mile passed the trailhead is quite uphill but after that it’s a fairly moderate hike. Views along the trail were stunning. We went in mid-June so the last half mile we had trudge through snow. It was quite slippery without hiking poles. The lakes were beautiful. Iceberg Lake still mostly frozen, but it was a nice spot to stop, rest, and have lunch.

Did an awesome hike via McDonald creek trail. McDonald creek was absolutely breathtaking as it was flowing side by side most of the times throughout the hike. Sometimes it's gentle but at some spots, the intensity of the creek was overwhelming. Couple of Cool spots to sit and have a bite throughout the hike.

This creek puts rivers to shame. So much beauty! @renoalexm

When we were there I liked being as Alecto closely explore the creek area. The vista is outstanding!

McDonald Creek is a very pretty creek running through Glacier National Park. It flows over Sacred Cascade and McDonald Falls. The smooth rock formations which flows over are magical and soothing. The mountain views peeking over the golden tamaracks in October are glorious. Deer are roaming in the area as well.
