Fun way to spend the day. Enjoyed all the rides and park was well maintained. Train was very neat and the shows that we caught were really fun (clogger show & magic show). Our kids loved feeding the animals too! It was only $0.50 for a cone full of food.

Great place to take your kids to get some energy out. You will get yours out to though because it's on the side of a mountain. Not much walking but lots of hills. Rides for adults too but mainly children. My kids love the petting zoo as well. You can bring your on snacks and drinks. We now have season passes.

We visited Tweetsie for the first times since childhood. It was fun but overpriced. $60 per adult! Light shows were okay, train ride was fun, stores were nice, and lots of photo opportunities. It was a group activity, otherwise I probably wouldn’t go since I don’t have children. Dress warm for winter rides. Train cars are open air.

What a fun experience for the whole family. We have been here in the past and loved it. The train ride is fun and the lights are beautiful. We loved the smores over the fire, and the blizzard was awesome. The park was clean and all the staff were super friendly. If in the area you too should make this a Christmas tradition.

Tweetsie is a fantastic place for the little ones. It was like walking into a Hallmark movie. My only complaint about a Tweetsie Christmas was the food choices. Only one restaurant on-site was open with very limited choices on site (hot dog or pizza only). I wish that was known up front. Tweetsie normally has multiple choices related to food. I would have given five stars if not for that. This is a great stop if you can experience it for Christmas. Santa’s gingerbread house and the s’more station was fun. The train was magical with all the lights.

This is a super fun place and a highly recommended. Both my almost 9 and my twelve-year-old enjoyed it. We stayed for hours and it was wonderful to spend that much time as a family without any whining or bickering. The only reason I took a star off is because after spending $200 to get in, a large soda was gonna cost you $8. They also advertised gem mining and gold panning but there were costs for that as well. Still, I recommend it. Just bring water bottles and snacks. You can also get your hand stamped if you want to head to the car for a picnic.

We had a fabulous day at Tweetsie Railroad! We arrived around 10:30 to a minimal crowd and bought our tickets at the gate. With no wait times, we were able to return to rides with no problem. The park is super clean and the staff is so friendly! Thank you for a great day Tweetsie!♥️🚂🚃🚃🚃♥️

Affordable family fun!! My whole family had such a wonderful day. The shows are entertaining and fun. Most of the people working there were happy and smiling except for a few but we all have bad days. Overall I would highly recommend going. Rides had small lines and we didn't have to wait long except for the cheese mine ride. But compared to other theme park wait lines. They were very very quick and we were riding rides in less than 10 minutes at a time!!! 😲

Just created a new Christmas family tradition! Tweetsie Railroad is a great way to cap a winter weekend in Boone! We loved the train and the ride through the lights... but were very surprised and excited by all the other activities to do during our visit! There are fun rides, shops, a carroling show, and plenty of visits to do, like gingerbread men and of course Santa! Fun experience, we look forward to many trips for years to come!

Nice place with the kids. We went after Christmas and it was raining but the train ride was full despite of the weather (it's covered). The tickets are expensive and the train ride is great. That said the other rides are not amazing and not really worth the price. The food is just snacks and expensive (as expected). The smores are $6 and honestly should be free given the cost of the tickets. Overall it's good to do it once. If you have some flexibility, check the weather before booking and don't go when it rains. You can also arrive early and get tickets at the door. Would recommend not getting food there if you can avoid it and go to nearby restaurants instead.

That was a fun experience, especially the steam train.. And the staff were friendly and very helpful. We lost our keys and noticed it after leaving, they have already closed down when we arrived but the staff that just got down to the parking lot and saw us searching straight away asked if we we were looking for some keys as someone found them and straight away offered to go back up to get it for us. Saved us the trouble of driving 2 hours back and forth the next day and the stress of not being able to enter the house. And she didn't even accept our small gift and said they were very happy to be of help. Wish we got her name. Anyways, if you're reading this "THANK YOU SO MUCH" again. Experience wise. Definitely a great visit, especially for kids.

Came here in August 2021. Went here as a kid and was excited to return as an adult to bring my kids. It was a great time, but I was disappointed about the train ride and the shootout that they used to do on board. The show now isn't bad but it's not as good as it was 20+ years ago. Still definitely worth the trip and they kids will love it.

We go every year, and we love it every year. This place is a special tradition for us. We like the food available, we like the train ride, and we love the chair lift. From shows and shopping, to rides and arcade.. There's something for everyone. Our kids love the kid rides and feeding all the little goats. Usually Thomas the train is there when we visit, which is an extra bonus for the kids.

We have season passes and we love to go the tweetsie railroad whenever we want to get out of the house I recommend taking a cooler of drinks and snacks because the food and drinks at the tweetsie restaurants are pretty over priced I also recommend getting a season passes if you have time to go a couple times because going like 4 times is a much as the price of the pass. The wait on a weekday is literally like 1 minute and on the weekends maybe 3. The wait for each ride is very short and they have added 4 new rides this year so that a plus. Overall a wonderful amusement park.

Pleasantly surprised. I hadn't been here in years and decided to take my 7 and 5 year old. We LOVED IT!! Tweetsie was perfect. Nostalgic old western/mountain theme park nestled on the side of a mountain. The offers some breath taking views as well. We will visit again soon.

This was our first time ever coming here to see the Christmas lights, and we are glad we did. We came on a Sunday & got tickets for the train ride at 7:30pm. It was a bit cold and a bit rainy, but thankfully, it did not pour while we were there. A few sprinkles, and we were fine. The train ride itself is about 25 minutes, and you basically ride along singing to your favorite Christmas songs and looking at all the wonderful Christmas light displays! It is a little "town," so once you're done with the train or even before, you can head to their cafe, gift shops, and many photo Op locations. They have lots of light displays to see and a stores section where you buy smores and go to any of their two campfires they have set. They have a few rides more catered to little kids, which is included in your admission tickets. You also get to see Santa! It was not busy at all when we went mainly bc it was on a Sunday night and rainy, but it was a plus for us! I will probably be back in the summertime to see how the experience differs. They do have free parking on site. This was about 2 hrs from me, and if I wouldn't have a long ride home on a Sunday before school started again, we would have def. Stayed longer to enjoy it much more, but overall, it was not a bad experience. It definitely felt like you were transported into a small Christmas hallmark movie village.

My 9 yr old was overwhelmed with excitement! I must say I was too. I recommend a 5pm or 6pm train ride so you can see everything before or after the train ride. There was so much to see!!! We went in December and had a WONDERFUL time!!! Make sure your phone is fully charged because you will take a lot of photos! Tickets are a bit pricey.

This was our first time here and it was a GREAT experience! We bought tickets for the Haunted Ghost Train and enjoyed it. A couple of things you may need to know, the attraction is on a hill and there is lots of incline walking, wear good shoes. The train ride is fun, but to enjoy the actors in the forest, you will need to be on the middle to rear train cars. If you are in the first car or second, you will have a hard time seeing and will have to turn around backwards in your seat and look out the right side FYI. The ticket cost is all inclusive and includes the train, haunted attractions and carnival rides. A great family putting to say the least!

Heads up for the Halloween attractions. They do NOT explicitly state when a place has live actors, and those places are rough. Being 35, I thought I would be fine in the enchanted forest advertised for people 8 and up. Nope. Got halfway through, got to the live actors, and needed to leave. The actors would not let up, even after my SO fell down, and we stated multiple times that we "do not consent" and were asking to just be let through. Maybe it’s my PTSD talking, but going to an attraction advertised as "from your funniest nightmares" and having a panic attack isn't fun. It honestly ruined our night. We sent an email asking them to state, either on signs or on the website, when an attraction has live actors in the future, but they never responded. The rides were fun, and the train was the highlight. The atmosphere was neat. But it's expensive - $60 per adult. Adequate signs would have saved the night.

This is my first year as a season pass holder and my experience both days of opening weekend were great. Park staff are very friendly and helpful.

It was definitely a nostalgia thing for my husband. I had never been and this was our child's first time as well. The train ride was fun but a little underwhelming. I think our ride was cut short by an accident with an actor so don't know if there was supposed to be more to it but it was not quite as exciting as I thought it would be, even keeping in mind it's for families. The mini train was almost more exciting if a little psychedelic towards the end. Mordecai has...so much back story to his mining operations. The rides were ok; for the little kid rides there was not really any lines so that was pleasant. Arcade had a few machines not working or ate coins and then the ticket eater didn't work so that was a bit of a mess. Overall, hit or miss and point to maybe some infrastructure related investments that might be good. There is nostalgic and then there is old and janky and we're treading a fine line here I think. Especially since it was not inexpensive compared to other things on top of what spent at the arcade, food, and the gift shop.

The manor is really beautiful, but be aware that tours of the upper floor are only on certain days, I believe only on the weekends. The downstairs is all gift shops. There are around 25 miles of trails for walking, running, and even horseback riding. You can hike down to the lake and back (about a 5 mile loop) which is beautiful and worth the walk. There's a large apple barn to visit, but you can't go in. The carriage house is neat with some old wagons and tools inside for viewing. The views from the house are gorgeous.

We've been to this area countless times and have never stopped. We're glad we took the time today!! The history of the family, home, and property are interesting! Quite a refreshing legacy of the Cone family as in this day and age, it seems harder and harder to find people of good stock! We toured the home, watched the video, and then ventured over to the grave site, which is just under a mile (each way). That is a relatively easy walk over, but there is (what seems to be) one long incline to the grave site. Good news --- it's downhill on the way back!! I feel certain the hikes around the property are not fun in the dead of summer ---- so we will return in the Fall to partake of other hikes. There is no admission fee and no cost to hike around. The restroom facilities are clean and nice. Be sure to treat the property with respect. Once you hear of Moses' and Betha's love for that area --- you'll appreciate what they have left us.

This is one of my favorite places to go in the mountains! If you only have a few minutes, you can visit the house at the top of the hill. Visit the gift shop, sit on the front porch, and enjoy the view. If you have more time, take a long hike to the bottom of the mountain or a walk around the lake.

Best hiking, walking or running trails in the area. We enjoy them regularly. Wonderful for families as well. Hiking to the top of the fire tower trail is our favorite with a great view at the top. Just wish our government had.more money to offer to help maintain all of our National Parks.

Absolutely beautiful place to visit, even in the rain! The workers or park rangers there were friendly and knowledgeable. I wanted to know so much more about the area, and home and the people who lived there. Great find today ! Nice gifts and clay works. They have a large representation of works from their guild! We did get to see the upstairs quarters.

Absolutely beautiful area with unbelievable scenery! The walking and horseback trails are awesome! They are wide, gravel and flat. Miles of trails through the forest and around lakes. Moses Cone is just spectacular tucked in that gorgeous scenery. Highly recommend, especially in the fall. You will not be disappointed!

Moses Cone Memorial Park is another fantastic park of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Expect to see wonderful views from numerous overlooks, great facilities, easy to moderate trails, and the oppurtunity to get out an enjoy nature here. If you are in the High Country, you definitly need to visit Moses Cone.

A very lovely look into a bygone era. Seasonal opening of the inside of the manor with a gift shop on the ground floor. Tour guides for the upstairs also available on a limited schedule, usually weekends. It has had an extensive remodel done recently and is In much better shape. There are local horse rides that can be booked for the trails there and plenty of beautiful trails to hike.

This place is very close to blowing rock. The house is lovely with beautiful items at a wide variety of prices. There's plenty to explore and visiting is free. The park has several areas that would be great for a picnic or just to wander around. We visited on a Tuesday and there were other guests, but definitely no crowd.

Stopped in to do a little walking while visiting from Delaware. Located on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Blowing Rock NC, the park is free to visit. The mansion houses a craft store that has products from local artists. It's cool to walk through. The true strength of the estate though is the walking trails. There are miles of trails through the forest. The trails are all gravel and easy to walk. If you need a place place to run while you are in town this is a beautiful setting in which to do it. The trails have Forrest, mountain views, and a couple of lakes. This Estate is well worth a stop!

This is a great property with lots of walking trails. There are short and long trails here. The only thing I didn't really like is that the trails are also shared with horses and there is horse poop everywhere, so you have to be careful and watch your step. When it rains, the trails can quickly become flooded. The carriage barn has restrooms, water and a decent amount of shelter during a storm.

This historical mansion was built in 1846 and encompasses 3,500 acres which includes Bass Lake that can be seen from the front veranda. The building opens at 10:00 and contains crafts in several rooms of the first floor along with an informative video. Restrooms are in the carriage house. The second floor is not open to the public. No cost to enter the building. During peak season (fall color foliage) in mid to late October the area is highly congested. Parking is limited and many cars line the driveway and even the parkway. There are many hiking trails which also allow horseback riders. It is located close to the entrance for Blowing Rock on the blue ridge parkway.

Absolutely beautiful home that has been kept up EXTREMELY well. Short little walk from the parking lot, and again absolutely beautiful. The views, the property, wood flooring, crown molds. It's just An amazing property and should be a quick 20 minute stop for everyone!

If you are visiting Blowing Rock or the Boone area, make sure to visit Moses H. Cone Memorial Park! You can walk around the house, but the real draw is the incredible trail access! They have 25 miles of wide, graded trails that are perfect for walking or trail running. Make sure to hike up to the fire tower, about 2.5 miles from the house, so you can get some incredible views of the area!

One of the top parks in the area to visit. Many, many miles of hiking trails to explore with great views, lush forests, historic points, a beautiful lake, and rolling meadows. Nearly all the trails are very wide and have gentle inclines, though the trails are very hilly. Perfect for those who want a slightly easier hike than a traditional trail. Parking fills up fast at the Manor and Bass Lake. Cone Park is beautiful all seasons of the year.

Plan a day to visit and enjoy all the old carriage paths they have to offer. Our favorite has been the hike up to the lookout tower, which is a 5-mile round trip gravel path starting at the house/restrooms, going under the BRP, past the Cone Cemetery, and up several switchbacks to the tower. Some great views along the way.

One of our favorite places in the area to take the kids and hike. Plenty of trails that are mostly flat and wide, with variations of scenery - fields, forests, overlooks, etc. we usually do the Flat Top Tower trail with is a little over 6 miles out and back. It’s not a hard trail, but the incline all the way up could be a lot for some people. The manor sometimes has artists exhibits and has a little craft store in addition to the visitor store. The downside is the parking can fill up quickly at the Manor, so people park on the side of the road and driveway making it a little tight to drive in. The bathrooms are small and can get long lines quickly (at least the women’s bathroom…).

Beautiful stately home with spectacular views and huge grounds to explore. Mansion built in 1901 and floors solid as a rock and wide staircases. Free tours and free videos of the history of the Cone family and business interest. Must see and do. Handcrafted works of art available for purchase from talented artisans in the gift shop. There are steps, slopes, hills and more but worth every effort.

this place never gets old. Every time I'm in the area I stop there. We make a day of it. we pack a cooler and have a picnic lunch. Then a walk around the pond. The tour of the mansion is educational. The history of Moses and Bertha Cone is fascinating. The grounds are beautiful. Untouched areas are magnificent.

This place is beautiful. The grounds and view are worth seeing. We were not able to visit the interior of the building, but just seeing the outside was amazing. If you check the website you can see their schedule. They will reopen April 15th, 2022. There are no restrooms accessible if the manor is closed. Plenty of parking. There are stairs and walkways around for wheelchair/stroller access.

We lucked out and found a parking spot near the carriage house (where the restrooms are). From there is a short ok on a very level trail back to the house, and the view along the way is very nice. The house itself is nice, but the first floor has basically all been converted into craft shops selling souvenirs, pottery, etc. There is a little bit of history about the house, including a video, and they also offer tours of the second floor bedrooms. But the tours are shut down between 12-1:30 for lunch. We were there at 1pm and it didn't look worth waiting around for another 30 minutes, so you'll have to rely on someone else to find out if the tour is worth it or not. But I at least recommend checking out the floor plan sketches on the walls on the main level. It's also worth walking down to the carriage house and checking out the old terraced garden area, if only for the fresh air and views.

If you like historical buildings, this is definitely one to see! It reminded me of Biltmore, just on a much smaller scale! It was nice that you do not have to pay an entrance fee to look around the few open rooms. They do have a documentary playing in one of the rooms that you can watch, but you can also find it online, if you wanted to watch it again or later.

The Moses Cone Manor is a beautiful site nestled within the Blue Ridge Parkway. During the season it is a visitor center and craft mecca. I would definitly reccomend visiting, even if they are closed the manor house is a treasure to marvel in.

An amazing place to visit. Moses Cone National Park on the Blue Ridge Parkway is a gift to all of us. Great hiking, walking, picnicking or just visiting the Manor House. The carriage trails make for relatively easy and safe hiking. So much beauty here and history.

Clearly, these are not views of the Moses mansion, because plenty of those have been posted. What is interesting is to see the surrounding area and the lovely places, sites, all reviews that are available as in a few miles. Well, the mansion itself is worth a tour. It is not worth a journey, unless you add all of the surrounding site, making the region, a prime spot for several days of travel.

Very interesting place. The free house tour was exceptional. I’m glad that we called in advance to schedule the tour, because there were more people there than they allowed for the tour and some people didn’t get to go on the tour. The view from the house looking down on Bass Lake was beautiful.

Beautifully maintained National Parks site with extensive hiking trails. The rangers conduct several tours a day. A cancellation stamp spot for the Blue Ridge Parkway if you have a National Parks Passport.

Such a beautiful home and part of North Carolina history. It is not full of furniture, but taking the tour and hearing the Cone family’s story helps to envision how the house must have looked back in time.

This is a great place to stop on the parkway. We went after 6pm, so the Cone Manor was closed but we were still able to walk up and look around the property. I’ve been inside years ago and it was nice to experience. I believe they do tours of the upstairs of the building - hopefully one day I’ll be back to try that out. There are some nice walking trails all around, as well. We walked under the parkway bridge to say hi to the cows. Parking was a breeze since we visited on a weekday pretty late, but I know it gets very busy on weekends. Despite lots of parking spots, I’ve seen it full multiple times with people parking on the edge of the parkway and entrance to Moses Cone Manor. There are also restrooms here.

Beautiful manor located close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The manor have seatings that have an amazing view. I came during some presumably renovation work so I don’t have the fullest experience, but it is still amazing! The place have a gift shop and an information center. The manor is located close to Blowing Rock and Boone, a good place to start your Blue Ridge Parkway journey. Make sure to get your National Park passport stamp at this place.

Let me star of with saying so unique! This is my 3 time coming out here, and has more activities now, brought my kids for the first time and they had a blast! I do give this place a 4 start cause of the price, price went up crazy for just the package it self I don’t think it’s worth the price. The tour is just about 10 mins! But very great experience

I enjoyed coming here as a kid, & still do as an adult! The prices are not horrible which is great with how things are these days! So this alone was definitely a bonus! We didn't do everything there in 1 trip, wanted to split it up over several trips, but we still had so much fun! My girls raved about it all day after we left. It was the highlight of our day being everything else was horrible after that. The staff was so freindly that we met, and was just grand to meet. Thank you for giving us such a wonderful experience! We will be back!

Our family got the do it all package. The employees here are absolutely amazing. Their enthusiasm and passion for their jobs are more than ever expected. We had a family group of 11 with 4 kids 5 and under. The front desk and the old time picture ladies went above and beyond for us. I would 1000% go back. It's a great all day family activity. Highly recommend if you are interested in something unique to do.

This place is amazing. So much fun. The gravitational anomaly house was so weird and fun! If you have vertigo you might want to avoid. They have old time photo shoots, axe throwing, gem mining, and a bubble room. We spent 3 hours there and didn't even do everything. Tons of fun. Highly recommend. Some activities need reservations.

Was it cool?!? Ohh definitely! If you get motion sickness or have vertigo, please be careful, you WILL feel woozy. Our tour guide was very informative on the back story. For what it is, it is a great experience, but certainly over priced for what it is.

Only thing short of 5 stars was for price. I did find the price a bit high for the package we bought. It sounds like alot of things included but when you complete the tour in minimal time you're left feeling like you over paid. Other than that, it was educational for all ages! My favorite part was the history house over top the Indian artifacts. The guy upstairs knew so much and answered all my questions. To learn that a Jean manufacturer started off making bed frames, or see the original pianos, books, and fridge was really welcoming. Prices in the gift shop were decent. The little eatery attached is very mom and pop type. The prices again were decent but the food itself was sub par. They do have bunnies and chickens but you can not pet them (so I'm unsure why they are there). Overall: go!

Highly Recommend this amazing place. Staff were all friendly and knowledgeable especially Isaac about the Native American artifacts. Sarah and Becky made our Old Time photo experience so pleasant. Ask for them if you go! Our kids ages 11 and 9 had a blast axe throwing for the first time!

Past this place for years and never went but the kids enjoyed it. The tour guide, James I think was a little much to the point of being confusing, mostly because he talked too fast and in weird accents. For giggles I did use a magnetometer and is did register some differences but most of it is the incline. The rest of the tour was just amusing, worth going once. We did axe throwing and bull riding too. If you've been axe throwing before you'll be disappointed. The tomahawks are badly chipped and I never saw the boards changed which very different from an actual axe throwing establishment. The heads aren't fixed so you spend time trying to wedge them back down the handle. I had several good hits just not stick because the board was chewed through to the point you couldn't see the bullseye. There was very little instruction. The mechanical bull was fun, most of us didn't last past 20 seconds or so. I was impressed by an older visitor before us that managed to last past a minute but I don't have any other experience to compare it to. Basically go on the "tour" once for the experience but I'd limit it to that.

Me and my family got the do it all package, includes everything on site and we definitely recommend it, the old timey photos came out so great! Ax throwing was fun but we all definitely need a little more work in that area. the bull riding was a cool little thing to do, i could also use a little more practice on that. we did the gem mining and really enjoyed looking at all the cool crystals and semi precious gems we had got. the gravity anamoly tour was our favorite activity out of them all, we did the last tour of the day and we’re very happy with it, our tour guide cameron had a fantastic personality and we learned so much, i definitely recommend volunteering, if you are prone to dizziness or vertigo might want to be to be a little careful and hold onto the railings in the gravity room. we could not have asked for a better after noon activity!

Very fun. Tour guy was funny, kinda have to have a dry sense of humor to get some jokes, but overall he was great. My kids really loved it and would've stayed there until they closed if I let them. Although I didn't do it they have a throwing and bull riding there and a native American museum there as well. Also not far from downtown Boone area. There are schedule times that you're able to go in, I purchased a ticket about 1230 and had to wait until 1 to be able to go through.

We have been going to Mystery Hill for years! It’s a wonderful experience no matter who’s in your group because there’s something for everyone. The Mystery Hall is super special and the main attraction. There’s also several other nifty things to do as well depending on what kind of ticket you purchase. Plus, the snack bar has delicious popcorn, pretzels, ice cream and more. The arrowhead collection in the museum is amazing. The only “knock” we had on this visit was that one person was trying to run the ax throwing and the museum at the same time so we had to wait half an hour for the museum to re-open so that a party could throw axes first. Overall our visit was fun and spectacular per usual!

We went on a Friday afternoon at 12:00 and got tickets for the 2:00 tour ($20 per person just for the mystery house/museum) so we left and returned later. Kinda pricey but we did have fun! Our tour guide was a hoot. Our tour group was large (24 people) but we took our time so we could get some pics alone. The atmosphere of the entire place was very rustic and sort of mismatched. We didn't go in any other attractions. Probably won't do it again but glad we did it once. Our kids had fun!

I need more stars please. I had so much fun as an adult! Axe throwing was cool the instructor was so nice and encouraging. The Electric Bull, No broke bones and she cheered me on the entire time. The minerals and gems mining are beautiful. I had such a great time!

Mystery Hill is a great place to visit. It's family oriented and pet friendly. Thanks to all the staff. You guys are AWESOME!!! We will definitely be back.

Loved everything! Wasn't able to do the bull riding nor visit the museum, staffing issues happens to us all. Pass never expires! Great customer service, all around great old school Americana. Ps. The axe throwing at Tomahawk Hill is addictive-I'm building a throwing cage next spring! Spend the whole day don't rush the experience. Get your pictures done and mine for gems.

Amazing place for both kids and adults. Tickets once purchased never expires, awesome right... There is a list of activities and you can do those at any time, meaning you don't need it the same day. Worth trying all the activities once, but my opinion - I would do the gravity anomaly, axe throwing and museum out of the list - adult things !!!

We had a fantastic time doing everything. We started with gem mining and got some really cool fossils and gems. Then we played put put. Lastly the dinosaur museum. Highly recommend for kids.

It's been a bit since we've been to Doc's been my kids & I love it! Doc & Trina have made it more than just a fun place to go. It's a learning experience for everyone! We've had some great stones cut & turned into beautiful pieces of jewelry! I've recently been bragging about Doc's on a gem sub reddit & everyone wants to go now! I told them, I didn't know Doc & Trina personally. But they're good people that make a wonderful business!

Kids had fun with everything, but especially the nerf war area. Reasonably priced and lots to do! The putt putt is 9 holes which to me is perfect with younger kids, but just something to note. Arcade is very small, but really not needed with everything else there is to do. We did gem mining and it was nice being indoors!

Our granddaughters, ages 6 & 4, had a wonderful time sifting through their buckets of sand. Each found numerous rocks and gems. The 6-year-old found an especially interesting amethyst that attracted the attention of all of the staff. Daniel told the girls about the different gems and rocks they found and although I know they didn’t fully understand what he shared, they listened intently. It was an awesome and fun educational experience at a reasonable price. The girls left happy with their finds.

We had an awesome time here, pricing is very fair and the staff were all nice and helpful. We found some really cool gems and loved that they have someone there to identify them for you and let you know have the potential to be cut for jewelry. The attached fossil museum was a lot of fun and super interesting!

We had so much fun! The youngest kid got the emerald strike, and we got the mother load. We got some amazing stones. It was a neat experience for the kiddos. The fossil museum was the best in my opinion. The guy Chris who was in there had to tons of stories and really super cool information. We enjoyed his guidance on what to look at and history information.

Wow we had a great time here. My kids were able to comb through the big bucket of rocks and each of them got special treasures. They also went through the extensive museum and saw really fantastic specimens of fossils, rocks, etc. The attraction has varying levels of pricing so everyone can participate to some extent. Great place for a few hours of inside fun

THIS PLACE IS SO SICK! Incredible collection in the museum and the gem mining was really cool. Zach gave us and incredible tour and he was so friendly and knowledgeable. Riley and Jacob were also so awesome, knowledgeable, and helpful. We were incredibly lucky to have this place to ourselves. Must stop at this place especially if you are into paleontology. I had to leave before I spent all my money. THANK YOU

The location picture is not their new location. They offer many different activities. It's pricey, particularly if you have a large family. Laser tag is virtual and is fun. Employees are nice and patient with newbies.

Doc is an awesome guy, and the store is so much fun! We just had my birthday party for our seven year old son, and the kids absolutely loved it. We did the nerf room which was a huge hit, and we did the mini golf course as well. They have a party room we used, and they had gem mining and a Virtual reality room and lots of rocks and fossil's to look at and buy! The staff was friendly and helpful, and I'm sure we will be taking the kids back soon.

Expected a super tourist trap, but actually ended up loving it. Took our two boys for both gem mining and put-put. We got the $40 bucket which had ruby, saphire, amazonite, quartz and quite a few others. All the workers were so nice and informative. Really felt less “tourist trap” more “field trip”. The boys learned a lot about their different treasures and we all had a blast. My husband and I even thought about coming back just us sometime soon. This will for sure be a new camping tradition for us.

We stopped at Doc's Rocks on the way back from our vacation. Kids had a blast. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff. lots to do , look at and touch. Good prices. The dinosaur museum up stairs was nice and well stocked, and given with a guided tour. I definitely will go back.

Sooo I would give it a 5 because night skiing on such a small mtn on the first Sunday of the month is only $12.. totally appropriate pricing for the smallness.. however, ice skating was twice as much. I was expecting a really nice rink with comfortable skates for that price. The rink is decent size but it was half water and the skates gave me sores after just two rounds so i had to turn the skates in and had to swallow the $26 for skating. My daughter is being such a trooper. She wants to stop because the rink is all water and the skates hurt her ankles too but she’s not going to waste money.. I’m sure the skiing will make up for it🤞🏼⛄️

The slopes were well-maintained, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the overall atmosphere was fantastic. I particularly enjoyed the variety of runs available for different skill levels. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, there's something for everyone here. I highly recommend Appalachian Ski Mountain to anyone looking for a memorable skiing or snowboarding adventure!

Awesome experience! The establishment is clean and very organized. The ski class instructors are so patient and really encouraging. If you've never been skiing and you want to try, this is a great place to start. There are various slopes from beginner to advanced. They also have a cafeteria, nursery, gift shops, and arcade. Additionally, they have an ice skating rink, which was so tempting!

If you are looking for a place to learn how to ski, look no further than Appalachian Ski Mountain. Slopes are not too big for the beginner and a few challenging runs for the more advanced skier. Our kids did the ski school our first day there and were able to pick up a few tips and tricks before hitting the real thing. The entire resort was super family friendly. We'll definitely be going back there again.

This is a great ski resort. Rental experience is smooth and the staff is everywhere checking to make sure you are having fun. The area for ski college is off to the side so youngsters have plenty of room to learn while not having to look out for the advanced skiers. They and probably 6 or 7 instructors there for about 40 kids in two different large groups, so they got tons of individual attention. Also the instructors were all super friendly and personable. Lodge is cozy, food is okay. Slopes are mostly big straight shots, terrain parks are a plus for boarders and skiers who jump but that's not me so no basis for review. Did get to sit down and watch some guys hit air which was fun to see up close. To me the biggest plus of App is just how perfect it is for kiddos to learn. Our 9 year old was loving it, he actually said "I thought skiing was gonna be hard to learn like riding a bike"

App Ski is the best mountain in Western NC! Great staff that is beyond friendly and helpful and will make sure that you get where you need to be. Everyone that works here has great customer service skills and are some of the friendliest people you will meet! The mountain is also one of the best maintained and focused on ensuring you have a good trip by trying to not make snow during hours unless they need to or it is a slow day. The owners are well known for their kindness and run what I would consider to be hands down one of the best businesses I’ve ever supported.

I’ve been wanting to ski for so long! Got there & I was a natural! Everyone was so nice & engaging. I’m not just speaking of the staff but other patrons. It was like a community for the few short hrs we were there. There was one special staff members that really spent time with and assisted my friend and I. I’m writing the review late & forgot his name. It was either Doug or Paul, leaning towards Doug. He was compassionate, thoughtful and beyond helpful!

We love coming here and we brought our son. This year was kinda eh because we paid about $800 for 2 days (2adults & a one year old) and there wasn’t much snow, a lot of dirt patches making it hard to go on most slopes except the expert one, the second day was even worse because it had rained the night before. I’m guessing it was because there wasn’t a enough people to where they would wanna turn on the snow machines but just didn’t seem fair for the price we paid. Usually it’s absolutely fantastic though but hoped our sons first time would’ve been more memorable🤍

Went late season, where the slope report said about 20-29 inches of snow. Some trails were closed, but most were still open. Had a great time on a 50F day. Started in the 30s at 9AM. By afternoon it was getting soft, not quite slushy - still easy to ski. We tried finding late season reviews since it's been a warm and wet winter, but most were a few weeks ago. So if you see this, maybe it helps with your trip.

Great mountain for beginners and families. Decent terrain park features. If you’re an experienced skier or boarder though it’s worth the drive to Sugar or Beech instead. ASM still haven’t worked out some of the kinks in their RFID system and the mountain is just so much smaller the slopes get crowded easily. Food in the lodge is a bit pricey but very good.

This was so much fun!!! A must visit place for anyone around this area. We were lucky that it was snowing when we visited the place, so entire blowing rock area was beautiful. The people here are very friendly. We had trouble getting our ski boots n ski in spite of ordering online. But they were able to help n get us to the ski quickly. Their ski lessons are OK. I personally didn't see it worth $30/person. Half of the time u end up waiting for the ski escalator. The ski area n ice skating area were really good. They have varied levels of ski area. Beginner can go on 2-3 small hills as they want. Night time ski was fun. I would recommend booking your reservation online. I wish they wud let you book lockers also online. As they r always full. Luckily we got it after few attempts.

This is a nice family friendly mountain. Great for families, beginners, and kids. The longer slopes only take a minute or so to ski, so you're on the lifts a lot. It is a quick trip to the top though. We had a bit of trouble with the RFID card entry onto the mountain that definitely needs some tweaking, or upgrading. Otherwise, the food in the lodge is good, and it's an easy mountain to get to and get around. We stayed in downtown Blowing rock, which is an awesome little town with lots of character. 8 min. Driven to the mountain too, so it's easy. I also bought some new boots in the Alpine Ski Shop in the lodge. They were super helpful and friendly. I highly recommend the service here (BUY LOCAL, not from some internet conglomerate)

We had such a blast! My wife and I drove up from Charlotte for the day while our kids were in school. It's basically a hill, and you'll ski 3% of the time, while 97% of the time you're on the lift - but it was perfect. So glad this is close to home. Fun day date.

A sweaty funky mess…. The slopes are dope, you definitely need google/ glasses for when they blow the snow. The runs are not slushy nor icy. The food not so great, but the staff was really helpful and nice. Not bad for a 2 .5 hr drive from charlotte

First time skiing ⛷️ I came with my husband and 2 kids, 10 and 12. All we have a blast!! Great place for learning! We took classes, I highly recommend do it if is your first time! You can rent all the equipment, including the clothes, jackets, pants, gloves, glasses… all! So freaking fun! Great place!!

First time skiing ever. We enjoyed our 3 days of skiing at Appalachian. Everyone was very polite and helpful. The set up is simple. They have lockers to rent for a day. And The clothing they rent is comfortable and keeps you warm (which was a worry of mines). We took a lesson, and it got us started with the basics. We are already planning to come back before the end of the season!

Boone fork trail is one of my favorite in the area. Perfect for families to spend the weekend or holidays on and can head to Blowing Rock for a nice meal afterwards. The views are the best in fall but spring is nice as well. There aren’t normally many people so sometimes we can enjoy the nature all by ourselves

Great park for a hike. The 5 mile loop is beautiful and moderate diffuculty. The park has lakes, several waterfalls and some meadows. Dogs are allowed on the trails and elsewhere in the park. If visiting Blowing Rock, definetely come here.

Great place for a moderate hike. Moderate for a 50+ out of shape couple. After a rain there are slick spots and some mud so recommend hiking boots on those days. We stayed close to the river on our hike which made for a very pleasant and shady stroll to see the falls

A nice walk around the lake in the morning. Very quiet and lovely view from every angle to the lake. There are some benches to relax. Bring water along or some picnic, even though there is a great and huge picnic area across from the lake with a creek running through. I loved that place.

Great views! Peaceful. Parking area and a sidewalk to capture stunning views. My photos are doing this area a disservice because the place is gorgeous. There are little cut out areas to capture different views of the area (not shown on my photos). The parking area was big enough to hold several cars and it was easy to navigate. Go! Explore!

Is a great pit stop in case anyone needs to use the bathroom or wants a place to have lunch at. There are picnic tables and trails with flowers! A beautiful stream passes through, it's a great trail to walk in case you don't want to do an extreme hike!

This is one of my favorite places in Boone! The parking list is huge and right off of the parkway. There are real bathrooms, hiking trails, tons of picnic tables, and a beautiful river that flows through all of it. It's a great place to spend an hour or so, or stay all day. Fun for the whole family, you don't regret visiting this spot.

Great camping spot. There are both spots to pre-register and first come. All the sites we saw are nestled in the mountains with lots of trees. Even when the site was full, it offered some privacy. The restrooms/showers on D Loop were very nice. It also has a great sink for filling up water and washing dishes. We didn't have much time to explore the rest of the park, but it is conveniently located to many places in the area.

This location is a great place to take a brief hike for an hour or two. It's an easy hike with little elevation variation around the beautiful Price Lake. This hike would be dog friendly with ample parking on the parkway. There are bathrooms but I've been told they are frequently locked. Bring some water you may be thirsty by the end if not.

Great place no matter the season but... in the fall with the leaves changing was an epic stop on our way up the Blue Ridge parkway. The lake was totally set off by the vibrant colors of the leaves. Minutes from Blowing Rock, easy places to park, nice walking trails and a cool spillway. We stop there every time we are up in Blowing Rock. The fall colors really set it off today.

Nice campsite in a great area to enjoy excellent riding roads and near the charming town of Blowing Rock. We were there with trailer and motorcycle in late September. It was very quiet. Only downside, it was a long hike from our site to the bathhouse.

This park and campground is right off the Blue Ridge Pkwy and near Blowing Rock, NC. There is a campground, hiking trails, a waterfall, an amphitheater, a lake, and boat rentals. We camped here for 5 nights and had a great time.

Before leaving the mountains for the coast, this was always a go-to on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The lake is always peaceful and serene any time of the year. It is a great place to just sit and relax by the water and center. I haven't played on the water, but a lot of people use it recreationally. Not too far from this overlook is a boat dock and campground. There are also a couple of trails down the Parkway from this overlook.

What a breathtaking view of the lake. The trail around the lake is like a walk in the woods. Great for even small children. You can rent a canoe or kayak to experience the lake during the summer season. Recommended for a stop on the Blue Ridge Parkway

Wonderful trail for all levels of hikers. It's on mostly dirt, but large rocks and logs to help with rapid terrain changes. The falls are about 1.5 miles from the staging area, but trails extend over 8 miles. Many views of cascades and a beautiful stream that moves along the trail. Parking in town or right at the trail. A great brewery in town for post hiking activities.

Located in the Heart of Blowing Rock, Glen Burney Falls Trail is an absolute gem! The hike offers breathtaking scenery, with lush forests, picturesque streams, and, of course, the stunning Glen Burney Falls as the ultimate reward. The trail is well-marked and moderately challenging, making it accessible to a wide range of hikers. The sound of cascading water and the peaceful atmosphere make this hike truly rejuvenating. It's a must-visit for nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts alike!

This was a very hard hike especially with the little ones. It’s easy to get to the falls, but going back is all uphill and the trail gets pretty sketchy in many parts. The falls were beautiful. I’m not sure they were worth the hike back though.

Hiked this trail during our trip to grandfather mountain. Moderate trail, but it was well worth it. Beautiful waterfalls. Its dog friendly too.

Absolutely AWESOME!!! The Ruins & 2-waterfalls (Cascades-Glen Marie ,& Glen Burney )located along this trail! Beautiful views while walking right along the stream… Be aware the trail is easy until you reach the first water fall (Cascades) … the trail then turns to moderate/ difficult… very steep and rocky … signs are posted … and please for the love of all things holy, STAY ON THE TRAIL!

Worth the trip! We did the full trail to the base of the Glen Marie falls. It took about 2.5 hours with breaks (we took our time with sight seeing). It was icy, muddy, foggy, and gorgeous. We haven't hiked in years and handled the trail just fine. I recommend those with little to no experience though to tread carefully at the tail end of the trail.

Great trail, very challenging....on the way back up. About a mile of steep uphill climbing. Follow the path to the bottom fork and cut back up hill to follow the Glenn Burney trail that's where you'll find the best fall (see pic). The bottom fork to the left (Glenn Marie) is not worth the hard climb back. There is little to see at the bottom. "The Ruins" on the map is an old septic house, nothing cool don't get excited like we did when we saw the map. Would not recommend for little kids. My 9y.o boy made it but it was all he wanted by the end.

I LOVED this hike. It's beautiful even on a foggy/rainy, December day. Given that it was alittle rainy (despite what the weather said) trails were a bit slippery but not dangerous. Take your time, the hike back up from the lower 2 falls can feel more like a climb.

Trail offers scenic views of 3 falls. Can be a little strenuous in sections on the return climb but certainly worth the effort. Nice location convenient to exploring downtown Blowing Rock.

About 1.6mi to the end of the trail. Do you need hiking shoe, not really unless the ground is wet. There are a lot of rocks so when it is wet you can slip and fall. The are muddy spot too but you can walk around it carefully. Another thing is there are about 500' of elevation change so hiking back to the parking lot will raise your heart rate. These are all the caution I can think off. Now the views, yes it is not a big waterfall but still nice. Glen Marie fall you can walk next to it if water flow is not too heavy. Trails are clean which is good, meaning people pick up after themselves. If you can't find start point, just drive slow on Laurel lane and you will see a small sign for parking.

Beautiful trail! Lots of tree coverage so even when it was lightly raining we didn't get very wet. It's very steep going on the second half of the trail but it's very doable for an able-bodied person. Our dog was able to come with us as well. If you're not in shape just take it easy on the way back up! We made it just fine but I was worn out by the time we got back. The falls were pretty and it was a fun work out!

i was a little shocked by the amount of waterfalls i encountered within a 3 mile round trip loop hike. interesting history & hardly any trash that i encountered probably the best place: i think maybe the community is more self conscious about littering. i didn’t encounter anyone until i was practically done with the hike.

Beautiful trail. It was way too muddy so we unfortunately had to turn back but our son is an avid hiker and he has done the entire trail. He loved it so much he has gone back a few times. I especially Love the proximity to downtown Blowing Rock to get something to eat, shop or coffee. If you do the trail. Don’t stray. Be safe!

Visited today, can't be compared to Premium Outlets. Prices are good in some places, but generally not many bargains to be had.

Love love love this place. Do most of my shopping here. There is a store that carries Life is Good and Simply Southern. Wide selection of both a good prices. Cannot remember the name of the store but right by the beef jerky store. Also, Columbia, Jockey (best women's underwear) and the Haines outlet (best bra selection and prices). Vera Bradley. Have to stop at the Crape restaurant Penny Lane. Have sweet and SAVORY. Yes, SAVORY, it's like a pizza or sandwich in a crape. Yea, 😋🤤.

Great selection of shops and the friendliest people ever working in them! In particular, the employees at Hanes, Jockey and Coal Miner’s Daughter were such a delight to encounter while shopping!!

Typical Tanger. Lots of wonderful shoppes located in a great area. There aren't any restaurants. I visited the Sunglass Hut to get new sunglasses. They were having a sale.

So overall the place was so clean, and the staff so nice. I only put the star down because I always expect to find deals at an outlet and this place had mall costs for American Eagle and Banna Republic. Last stop has to be for fudge....so good!

Thus tanger outlets was a good place and stuff wasn't that expensive.

Fun afternoon of shopping. Good variety. Clean and well laid out

Exxon place to visit and do your shopping as far as bargains are concerned you'll have to use your own discretion but there are certain items that are on sale

It's easy to shoot up the mountain from Lenoir to Shoppes on the Parkway. My last visit was on 08/17/23. Several of the original "anchor stores" of this outlet center have closed. In addition to the usual "recognizable name" retail outlet stores, a locally owned drug store, a large artist/vendor kiosk space, a couple of new restaurants, and a gem mine have opened in the center over the past 2 years, so there is something here for the whole family. My current faves at this center are Columbia, Rack Room Shoes, Talbot's, Coal Miner's Daughter, and Egg Rollin'. (Don't let the name fool you! Egg Rollin' so much more than egg rolls!)

Nice stop off the Blue Ridge in Blowing Rock. Some good retail outlets, not much else around.

This place is unique in the fact that I feel like I'm at the beach. Over priced items with massive discounts on less than walmart quality that are made in China . Cheep feeling . Not for me. JCPENNYS has a much better quality product.

It was a great view I got to see the beautiful sunset it looks like the clouds were animals. It always does. You could make anything out of an animal of a cloud the sky was purple, orange, yellow, pink

They serve food and beer, but if you come for just beer, they have an outdoor beer garden or you can sit at the bar and a few places in the front of the restaurant. The bar was super loud and the bartender forgot about us, so we had to flag him down to get drinks, even though we were sitting at the bar in front of him. We only ordered beers, which were just fine and didn't have a ton of depth of flavor. Their Chai Kolsch was probably their best one, with some nice peppery notes. The food that other people were ordering at the bar looked tasty!

This place is pretty cute. It’s got a lovely cabin feel to it. The beer wasn’t bad. My husbands favorite out of the flight we got was Cloud Rise. For vegan food, they technically don’t have any on the menu. But the wonderful waitress was so kind to try and accommodate us. We ended up getting the hummus plate with just celery and carrots along with the grains salad (has walnuts, mixed grains and blueberries) with a vinaigrette dressing. I think normally it comes with feta? Can’t be sure how they exactly veganized it but they had our back. Great service and extra accommodating. I’d come back just for that. Our kids who are not vegan had the Reuben and chicken sandwich which they both devoured and said it was delicious. 10/10.

Amazing food. The burgers were delicious. Wings and pretzels served as great appetizers. The beer selection is outstanding. I had the Scotch Ale, one of the best I have ever tasted. This was our second visit to this location. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Blowing Rock.

So here’s the thing. We live about 2 hours away, but come to Blowing Rock at least once a year for a few days. We’ve done the fine dining and the “nice” restaurants. But you know what? The best meal we’ve had in town was at Blowing Rock Brewery! We started with the cheese curds. As delicious as they were, we left a few behind in anticipation of some big plates for dinner. I had the fried chicken sandwich, which was phenomenal! I opted for the arugula side salad in an attempt to put some green on my plate. It’s was really fresh and so, so good. The hubs had the lemon pepper wings with the homemade chips and dip. We both agreed we probably could have eaten ourselves silly just on those chips! And to top it off, the service was really friendly and attentive. By far the best bang for your buck in Blowing Rock!

Amazing place for beer, food, and friends! Relaxed atmosphere with great service. Lauren was our server and knew all of the beers. Had a great flight with an amazing Bison Burger!

If you are at Blowing Rock looking for something to eat and drink this is the place Crafted beers and delicious food going together at this location I recommend you the chicken sandwich and everything related to Bison Just go and enjoy

Great experience. Bison burger was cooked perfect and was very good. Pretzel and fried cheese curds appetizers were great. Octoberfest beer was delicious. Will visit again.

1st off, the staff are nothing but kind. The locals are extremely helpful. Best chicken wings I've eaten (dry rub and Buffalo sauce). The beer...can't give enough stars for! The entire experience was just amazing, and I'll definitely be back! I will be driving 3hrs for beer and wings soon! Thank you so much for a great experience, food, and obviously beers!!!

This is a place I have wanted to eat at for a while and finally got the chance to on Father's Day. Everything was excellent from the service, to the food, to the beer. Our server was super friendly and attentive. Appetizers and entree's came out hot, fresh and timely and the beer was tasty and cold. The weather was perfect and the outside seating was perfect for us as we had our dog with us. This is a great spot to grab some good food and a cold beer on a nice day. There's also plenty of nice seating inside as well. We also enjoyed some live music. No complaints here and we will be back. Thank you!

Stopped in on a Friday afternoon at the bar. Place was pretty busy and there was a wait for tables. Found seat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly. Beer was great! Also, had the homemade chips with beer cheese and ranch dip which were delicious.

My wife and I came here after a day hike on Rough Ridge. We loved it. Our waitress was sweet. I wanted a beer but wasn’t sure what to get. She asked what I usually drank and came back with a few samples she recommended. She was spot on. The beer was great. We ordered and appetizer, burger, and chicken sandwich. Real tasty and I left full. This one’s on my go-to list now, and I recommend it to others.

My husband and I had dinner here last night. We sat at the bar. They were very busy. The two bartenders, Jess and Lyden were super. They were helpful in choosing beer as well as food. Good selection of craft beer which we thought was outstanding. Food equally as good. I had the shrimp tacos and my husband had the bison burger. Enjoyable evening, I highly recommend you give it a try. All staff members were friendly and accommodating

Cool brewery and restaurant. The beers were good with a wide variety and some interesting ones. The food was good. Particularly the bison chilly which had a good kick of spicy. TVs in the bar for sports was nice during March madness

We LOVE BRBC!! Every time we go to the NC mountains we make it a point to stop in for a few brews! They have indoor and outdoor seating (pet friendly!). Their menu is excellent. My hubs got the pub burger and I got the seared tuna sandwich (my favorite). The atmosphere is fun and friendly. There's a section in the back yard with picnic and pub tables for brews, and you can order pub "take out" at the window if you don't want to wait for a table. They also have corn hole set up! The food menu has a great selection as does the beer menu! Not hard to find something to love!

Stopped in while I'm town visiting from Delaware. The place is a brewery with food and an inn all in one. I had a flight and really enjoyed 3/4 of the beers. There is great seating inside and out and the place has a chill vibe. If we lived here we would certainly frequent this place.

Delicious food, good beer, good staff. We came with a big group on a Thursday afternoon and shared a lot of things, and every single thing we had was delicious. Highly recommend. Ben was our waiter and he did a great job.

Love our museum! Exhibits are great, educational and fun. Gift shop is well stocked and fairly priced. We're friends of the museum, the small donation well worth it. I encourage everyone in the area to do the same.

What a nice museum. Very informative video on the history of Blowing Rock, and how it came to be. Then a nice flow through the multiple galleries within the museum. My favorite exhibit was the watercolors. A wonderful collection of art and history all under one roof. The gentleman working the welcome desk was very informative and nice.

Beautiful museum in a well-designed, unobtrusive stone building that on the day I visited showcased the work of NC artists in two striking exhibits. One displayed several gorgeous landscapes by noted painter John Beerman and the other selected and truly varied works from the pottery collection of an NC couple. How wonderful also that admission is free!

My family visited for a day and stopped in the museum. It was great to see so much art from 1800s and early 1900s. There was much to see... paintings, glass works, and sculptures. The people were friendly and informative

It’s a nice but small museum. Very little historical pieces. The introductory movie was very good. Some nudity in some of the art photography Exhibit that I think is temporary. I personally didn’t care much for it and I found it tasteless but I am sure some will think it’s art.

Located at the south end of Main Street, this museum is really a hidden gem in Blowing Rock. The building itself is a beautiful piece of architecture – both inside and out. The museum regularly rotates art, culture and history exhibits, so that each time my wife and I visit, it has new things to offer. In addition, it's free to park, and there is no admission charge. Highly recommended.

It‘s just part of the ideal life to take a walk around the lake, bask in the autumn sunshine, and completely surrender yourself to the breathtaking view of fall colors doubled by their reflection 🍂

Beautiful lake. You can enjoy different season’s surprise. Good place to take a walk. Walking dog. Go fishing. Easy to park your car. It’s very safe and have restrooms.

Great short, level walk. View of Cone Estate needs clearing. Find the mother maple tree with two pine trees growing in it. Enjoy your walk for a lap or two.

Oh! This place is beautiful. I walk here often. Great trails to some spectacular scenes and full of local history. The park rangers here are highly knowledgeable of the property and great to speak with. Gotta check it out!

Beautiful lake few especially on the sunrise. Would be even better without local boomers using the NPS comfort station as a personal lavatory because they're too lazy to use their own bathrooms and clean up after themselves in the 4-story houses bordering the property.

I love this place. The wide and flat gravel path is easily accessible from Blowing Rock or by hiking from Moses Cone Manor on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Wonderful place to find wildlife and beautiful views of the lake. Kid and dog friendly with multiple places to stop and take in the space.

Can get crowded, but is a wonderful place. Lots of joggers, dog walkers, fishers, horseback riders, and walkers. There's a pond you can visit if you cut through the cow pasture. Good way to get away from the crowds. Very photogenic place.

An enjoyable easy walk around the lake is less than 1 mile long. A perfect way to get some fresh air and exercise. We missed the peak tree colors as most of the trees surrounding the lake had already lost their leaves. The 3rd week of September was most likely at the peak. There were also horse back riders. A dog friendly walk on a paved path. There are other activities including a maze. Restrooms were available. The parking area was crowded as this was a popular destination. Anyone going into Blowing Rock from here would have about an hour wait in traffic to go about 2 miles.

Such a wonderful and beautiful place to walk around, have a picnic, or even take engagement photos! The trail around the lake is connected to several other trails which lead to Moses Cone Memorial Park and Trout Lake. Very nice trail that goes to different places.would've loved to walk through the manor but it was too far with 2 kids. And only 1 stroller. I loved that there were benches you can sit at and just have a picnic. Really loved how clean it was as well.

The manor is really beautiful, but be aware that tours of the upper floor are only on certain days, I believe only on the weekends. The downstairs is all gift shops. There are around 25 miles of trails for walking, running, and even horseback riding. You can hike down to the lake and back (about a 5 mile loop) which is beautiful and worth the walk. There's a large apple barn to visit, but you can't go in. The carriage house is neat with some old wagons and tools inside for viewing. The views from the house are gorgeous.

We've been to this area countless times and have never stopped. We're glad we took the time today!! The history of the family, home, and property are interesting! Quite a refreshing legacy of the Cone family as in this day and age, it seems harder and harder to find people of good stock! We toured the home, watched the video, and then ventured over to the grave site, which is just under a mile (each way). That is a relatively easy walk over, but there is (what seems to be) one long incline to the grave site. Good news --- it's downhill on the way back!! I feel certain the hikes around the property are not fun in the dead of summer ---- so we will return in the Fall to partake of other hikes. There is no admission fee and no cost to hike around. The restroom facilities are clean and nice. Be sure to treat the property with respect. Once you hear of Moses' and Betha's love for that area --- you'll appreciate what they have left us.

This is one of my favorite places to go in the mountains! If you only have a few minutes, you can visit the house at the top of the hill. Visit the gift shop, sit on the front porch, and enjoy the view. If you have more time, take a long hike to the bottom of the mountain or a walk around the lake.

Best hiking, walking or running trails in the area. We enjoy them regularly. Wonderful for families as well. Hiking to the top of the fire tower trail is our favorite with a great view at the top. Just wish our government had.more money to offer to help maintain all of our National Parks.

Absolutely beautiful place to visit, even in the rain! The workers or park rangers there were friendly and knowledgeable. I wanted to know so much more about the area, and home and the people who lived there. Great find today ! Nice gifts and clay works. They have a large representation of works from their guild! We did get to see the upstairs quarters.

Absolutely beautiful area with unbelievable scenery! The walking and horseback trails are awesome! They are wide, gravel and flat. Miles of trails through the forest and around lakes. Moses Cone is just spectacular tucked in that gorgeous scenery. Highly recommend, especially in the fall. You will not be disappointed!

Moses Cone Memorial Park is another fantastic park of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Expect to see wonderful views from numerous overlooks, great facilities, easy to moderate trails, and the oppurtunity to get out an enjoy nature here. If you are in the High Country, you definitly need to visit Moses Cone.

A very lovely look into a bygone era. Seasonal opening of the inside of the manor with a gift shop on the ground floor. Tour guides for the upstairs also available on a limited schedule, usually weekends. It has had an extensive remodel done recently and is In much better shape. There are local horse rides that can be booked for the trails there and plenty of beautiful trails to hike.

This place is very close to blowing rock. The house is lovely with beautiful items at a wide variety of prices. There's plenty to explore and visiting is free. The park has several areas that would be great for a picnic or just to wander around. We visited on a Tuesday and there were other guests, but definitely no crowd.

Stopped in to do a little walking while visiting from Delaware. Located on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Blowing Rock NC, the park is free to visit. The mansion houses a craft store that has products from local artists. It's cool to walk through. The true strength of the estate though is the walking trails. There are miles of trails through the forest. The trails are all gravel and easy to walk. If you need a place place to run while you are in town this is a beautiful setting in which to do it. The trails have Forrest, mountain views, and a couple of lakes. This Estate is well worth a stop!

This is a great property with lots of walking trails. There are short and long trails here. The only thing I didn't really like is that the trails are also shared with horses and there is horse poop everywhere, so you have to be careful and watch your step. When it rains, the trails can quickly become flooded. The carriage barn has restrooms, water and a decent amount of shelter during a storm.

This historical mansion was built in 1846 and encompasses 3,500 acres which includes Bass Lake that can be seen from the front veranda. The building opens at 10:00 and contains crafts in several rooms of the first floor along with an informative video. Restrooms are in the carriage house. The second floor is not open to the public. No cost to enter the building. During peak season (fall color foliage) in mid to late October the area is highly congested. Parking is limited and many cars line the driveway and even the parkway. There are many hiking trails which also allow horseback riders. It is located close to the entrance for Blowing Rock on the blue ridge parkway.

Absolutely beautiful home that has been kept up EXTREMELY well. Short little walk from the parking lot, and again absolutely beautiful. The views, the property, wood flooring, crown molds. It's just An amazing property and should be a quick 20 minute stop for everyone!

If you are visiting Blowing Rock or the Boone area, make sure to visit Moses H. Cone Memorial Park! You can walk around the house, but the real draw is the incredible trail access! They have 25 miles of wide, graded trails that are perfect for walking or trail running. Make sure to hike up to the fire tower, about 2.5 miles from the house, so you can get some incredible views of the area!

One of the top parks in the area to visit. Many, many miles of hiking trails to explore with great views, lush forests, historic points, a beautiful lake, and rolling meadows. Nearly all the trails are very wide and have gentle inclines, though the trails are very hilly. Perfect for those who want a slightly easier hike than a traditional trail. Parking fills up fast at the Manor and Bass Lake. Cone Park is beautiful all seasons of the year.

Plan a day to visit and enjoy all the old carriage paths they have to offer. Our favorite has been the hike up to the lookout tower, which is a 5-mile round trip gravel path starting at the house/restrooms, going under the BRP, past the Cone Cemetery, and up several switchbacks to the tower. Some great views along the way.

One of our favorite places in the area to take the kids and hike. Plenty of trails that are mostly flat and wide, with variations of scenery - fields, forests, overlooks, etc. we usually do the Flat Top Tower trail with is a little over 6 miles out and back. It’s not a hard trail, but the incline all the way up could be a lot for some people. The manor sometimes has artists exhibits and has a little craft store in addition to the visitor store. The downside is the parking can fill up quickly at the Manor, so people park on the side of the road and driveway making it a little tight to drive in. The bathrooms are small and can get long lines quickly (at least the women’s bathroom…).

A beautiful park that's just off the beaten path. We enjoyed a little quiet time as we strolled around the lake along the trail. Also, discovering the small extension of the park that's just across the street (opposite the parking end of the park) was a pleasant addition to our walk. This would be a great place for a blanket-picnic.

Peaceful great for a picnic or evening walk. Seen some ducks and fish. There is a trail nearby across the road the glen burney falls trail I also recommend checking that out while you’re in town if you’re into hiking.

A nice, small park. But, if it’s no big enough to your liking, it’s in within short walking distance of others and downtown Blowing Rock. There’s fishing, a fountain, a gazebo, and water fowl.

Loved it! Such a beautiful clean place. Picnic tables nearer the park would be nice though for elderly that can’t climb hills and a bathroom on level ground. Other than that it was just beautiful.

Such a peaceful little park! We always go here when Bass Lake is full. It’s the perfect place to walk around or even walk to downtown blowing rock and enjoy some shopping or ice cream from Kilwin’s. This park normally isn’t crowded either, which is a huge plus! It’s always clean as well.

Wonderful park with plenty of activity's, including two tennis courts, basket ball courts, horse shoe pits and playground for the little ones. Very clean public restrooms and picnic area as well as hiking trails and a magnificent local lake.... It is a Absolutely beautiful place to visit any time of the year. People are as friendly as they can be an d the shopping and restraunts are five star establishments

We visited for the first time this January enrolled six teenagers and one 9 year old in French Swiss Ski College. We had the best experience with Chris getting us organized and all signed up and situated. Chandler then took over as their ski instructor. He was the absolute best! May I say extremely patient with 7 kids after the first session they wanted a second one because they enjoyed Chandler and all the helpful techniques he gave them. As a parent it was very comforting to know they were with someone so encouraging and kind! Thank you Appalachian Ski Mountain and French Swiss Ski College we will be back!

Incredible school. Highly qualified instructors who’ll teach you solid fundamentals and the tricks of the trade. Learned skiing from Chandler last year and have been taking more lessons from him this season to refine my new lifetime skill. Decided to learn snowboarding too. Audrey, Hayden, and Rob were are top-notch instructors.

Really disappointing experience. Son and daughter got a private lesson, first time skiing. The private lesson amounted to waiting in line to go down the little bunny slope 6 or 7 times after waiting in a long line. Instruction was poor, my daughter said she fell at the end of the first time down because she wasn't told how to stop. My son didn't want to ski any more after the lesson.

Two people to get ski lessons for an hour and equipment was almost 200 bucks. You have to rent everything at a different spot, clothing rental people were very nice, ski pass lady was also nice, locker rental lady downstairs was cranky old gretchen and was a total B.... Kids renting out ski's, helmet and boots were helpful and polite, ski instructor lady was really nice, helpful and gave a good class. If you don't learn it's because you didn't listen. Place is pretty busy for a Tuesday, I wouldn't go anywhere near there on a weekend (packed). Grounds are clean, slopes are very well maintained, not a lot of places for beginners to practice. Lots of kids, adult only days would be nice.. Cafeteria style food, everything looked fried, I wouldn't eat there. But I'd go back just to ski...

Cameron and Rachel are a godsend! If you’re having issues with any lesson scheduling I highly recommend you try to get one of them to walk you through if you need assistance. Be patient. Be cool. It’s a challenging website that they’re forced to help navigate. Boxes go unchecked automatically and they have no control over the functions. But the passion for what they do and why they’re there and how they continue to deal with this cruddy site day after day shines through if you give them the chance to share. Thank you Cameron and thank you Rachel! You gals straight up saved the day and turned us from “should we even do this for our kids?” To “heck yea!
