This was a very significant campaign, and the final battle was also very significant. You can see a lot of the battlefield intact. It is well preserved and The rangers are phenomenal. I highly recommend you spend all day there. Also, as an added bonus, they have a largely intact ironclad, the Cairo. It's very impressive. My group spent 2 days going over the battlefield.

This place was very cool, but we didn't realize how far away the picnic tables were. They were pretty far and we found only one underneath the shade. A few more tables would definitely be nice right around in that area

Vicksburg National Military Park is an awesome park. I proudly served in the US military so I especially am interested in any military battle but especially our own military history. If you are a vet the entrance fees are waived and you receive a discount in the gift shop. We suggest that you plan on spending a minimum of three hours in the park your first visit. It is a great place. We have been here several times and we plan on returning in the future. We highly recommend visiting.

Stayed in an AirBnB near here for two weeks and took many walks and bike rides in the park over that time period. Just an excellent park. Very well maintained and loads of interesting history. The elevation can be brutal (when walking, running, or biking :) The salvaged USS Cairo ironclad gunboat is incredible! There is a small museum with artifacts and models/drawings. One afternoon we were walking through the park and came upon a prescribed burn in one of valleys by graveyard road. It was super cool to watch and they had the area very safe and secure. Definitely check out the acoustics in the Illinois Memorial. We highly recommend visiting this park!

This does not take away from the tour. Plenty of signage to explain how this battle took place. Has a great visitor center.

Beautiful grounds and monuments. You can take your time driving thru the park. You can also get out and walk the grounds. Stop at the information center first. The ranger provided helpful information.

Large park that you drive through (you can also walk or bike). Self-guided audio tour on the National Parks app. Recommend a guided tour if you want a more complete picture of the campaign and the seige... call in advance to arrange a guide. The trees have grown on over 160 years, so it can be hard to get a sense of the battle lines and how close Union and rebel forces were to each other. Visitor Center has a short video that summarizes the battles and the seige - definitely worth watching. The exhibits in the Visitor Center are also informative, particularly the info about the cannon shot and how it evolved. Only bathrooms I saw were at the Visitor Center.

What a great experience visiting here. It's a driving touring with places to park and check out some signs and statues. The area the battle occurred is an amazing trench that must of had some terribly, grizzly combat. We missed the visitors' center, but when I go back, I'll start there with the movie, so I'll have a better background of what all we saw. Some of the sites are up on hills that takes good mobility, but several are around terrain flat enough for decent mobility to allow you to walk right up too. The cool thing is even without any mobility, you can drive through and have an awesome visit. This is why we need to preserve all of our history, so we're not destined to repeat it. We also had a fabulous interaction with the Park Ranger at the gate upon entrance. And then we chatted as the park was closing, she was so personable and fun!

unfortunately when i was there half the park and the museum were closed for no apparent reason, but the slothfulness of the staff didn't stop me from enjoying as much as i could. the best part was definitely the ironside that you can go on. I've never seen one of those before

My husband and I spent about 5 hr going through the battlefield. They have a good film to view in the visitor center that is very helpful to watch before going on the drive tour. We took our time throughout the self tour to read unit markers, etc. The natural fortresses were amazing and gave understanding how the confederates could hold Vicksburg as long as they did. Really neat to see the USS Cairo as they brought her up out of the river and have a museum on site. Check days that museum is open. National Cemetary is there too. Check the acoustics in the large Indiana monument next to the Shirley House. This was only house remaining from that time of battle.

A stunning place of tremendous value in American history. If you have any remote interest in that subject than the park is well worth the visit. It also has incredible vistas of Delta Bluff country and the mighty Mississippi river. If you're visiting during the warm season make sure to bring lots of water. Also, if you're interested in a tour please look into reserving a Licensed Battlefield Guide ~ Congress permits only Vicksburg and Gettysburg to have such passionate, well informed guides and they are eager to explain the siege to you.

Great place to visit for history. The park had 2 areas closed we wanted to visit. The visitor center showed a movie that was very informative. It was too hot to get out at every marker. In the area, have a full day, this place is a must.

Historians have done a great job building this National Park and Monument. There are hundreds of monuments, plaques, sculptures, and displays throughout the rugged terrain covering over 2,500 acres with nicely paved touring roads throughout the park. Handicapped accessible. We also found there were several exits around the perimeter of the park. We went to get coffee, then came back to the park and finished the tour. The Vicksburg National Cemetery is here, it covers 116 acres and has over 18,000 graves, only around 5,000 of them are identified. Don't forget to go see the U.S.S. Cairo and museum. We enjoyed the tour, we often got out of the car to to look at the cannons or other monuments. Thank you for the work that you've done here for the people to enjoy.

If you’re a history buff, this is a great place to explore. It was a gorgeous day and we really enjoyed riding through the park on the motorcycle. Didn’t have a lot of time, but you really could spend all day there exploring all the different sites in the park. Beautiful grounds and well kept with tons of history and information. Well done!

A fantastic military park - make sure you get the free map for the numbered sites along the way. The National Parks Pass provided free admission, too. The USS Cairo was the highlight of the experience for us - make sure you verify the hours that the museum is open. The outdoor exhibit and ship is always open.

We went into the museum part, and watched the video that explained the lead up to this battle, the battle itself, and the aftermath. You should watch this video before the tour so you have a better orientation. It's always a plus to have things explay, THEN to go exploring about. Being a history guy, I was thrilled. Time well spent... 👍👍 if you have the national park pass, no charge!!

This could have been a good place, but several roads inside the park were closed. Due to this we could not see the cemetery or the ship. However, the reason for the one star is the picture posted below. My family has been to over two dozen parks and this was the rudest park ranger I’ve ever experienced. He constantly harassed my family and made crude remarks about my children keeping their hands to themselves and remaining close to us. He then made several off colored comments about children in general to his associate. At no time did my children leave my side and they never talked louder than a whisper. This man obviously hates children and made no point to hide his prejudice when addressing the public. I would highly suggest the park service reconsider having someone like this as the greeter and face to their park. I would think he would be more valuable scrubbing toilets or spearing leaves on the backside of the property away from civilized adults. I’ve uploaded his picture so other families might avoid this man in the future.

We have been to a fair number of National Park battlefields (Gettysburg, Valley Forge, Antietam, etc,) and this may be the best. Marked exceedingly well. Do not miss the Cairo Gunboat Museum on the northwest end of the park -- a real gem.

This is hard to get to because many of the roads in the battlefield are blocked. The NPS app says it's closed, which the actual museum and store are closed but you are still able to view the USS Cairo and walk around it. Very interesting and fascinating piece of history!!

The exhibition of the USS Cairo Gunboat and Museum is very spectacular. The boat is remarkably well preserved considering the time it spent under water. Being able to see and actually walk onto this piece of history is really impressive. The museum is also loaded with personal effects of the men who served on the ship. This is an exhibition I think almost anyone would appreciate.

Yes!! The USS Cairo and museum is an amazing place to see! Those with mobility issues will have no problem boarding the ship and being able to be in a historical vessel. The museum also has so many artifacts recovered from the Cairo. You could spend an hour or two here for both places. I would say go early to avoid the big crowds.

The museum was closed the day we visited, but the USS Cairo exhibit was open. This is by far the highlight of the Vicksburg battlefield. The minimalist framework of the ship gives a clear view of how the ship worked, and gives a glimpse of what daily life must have been like for the crew. If you don't visit any other display at Vicksburg, allow yourself an hour or two at the USS Cairo.

Highly recommended - make sure you confirm on the National Parks website as the exterior exhibit is always open while the museum inside is not. The museum was very informative to include the short video about how they raised the ship. Bathrooms are also available onsite. You can walk about and onto the restored ship, too..!

Even though damaged when raised, this ship and the structure built to display it are extraordinary and a must see for history fans. This is well worth the time it takes to reach it. Many thanks to those who erected this monument and to those who maintain it today.

Pretty interesting place. A small museum that boasts a treasure trove of artifacts from the civil war that laid in the Mississippi for a century. Not to mention a look at (at least part of) real ironclads. Plus it's free, or rather included in your admission to the military park.

AS OF JUlY 15: You can see the Cairo, which is outside, but the museum was closed today (not sure for how long - recommend checking). Seeing the Cairo by itself is worth the stop. Amazing what they were able to salvage. A window into the past that sat in the mud of the Mississippi for nearly 100 years, very well preserved. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Great to learn the History of this boat. Museum for the boat and a Gift shop is nice. The Park Ranger answered some questions and he said the best time to do the driving tour.

The iron clad boat and its story was super interesting. The museum is currently closed by you can access the restrooms. Plenty of parking. And located within the National Park Site.

The quality of the restoration work is amazing. The display set-up is easily navigable, even for those with mobility related disabilities. Be sure to check out all of the plagues that tell more about the Cairo. The only negative was the museum being closed for renovations. However, the bathrooms and entryway are still open for use, even if you just need to get out of the heat for a few minutes.

One of the neatest things you could see in the National Park service. I can't believe this is still as intact as it is after being under the water for over 100 years! Definitely worth seeing and my favorite part of the park.

The Vicksburg Riverfront Murals are aa ingenious way the city had beautified the old river flood walls and at the same time tells the history of Vicksburg. Each panel depicts an era, from prehistoric to modern times. A small town plaque in front of three mural explains the scene. Very interesting and well done.

The drive through the old historic part of Vicksburg it’s stunning with old buildings/shop and restaurants then you get to the river front with hast parking all over you can get off and enjoy so many murals you can spend as much or as little time as you wish and it’s free, also stop by and look at the flood gauge records in the back of the walls pretty stunning.

His has to be the most beautiful park I've ever taken my children too. The view of the river is stunning and the theme of the park is genius (river boat). The wall art is beautiful as well. I love in Texas and whenever I visit home it's a must that I bring my little ones here

Nice place to take a crash course in Vicksburg's history, albeit an eclectic and truncated one. The scenes-from-the-past murals, decorating the flood wall along a quiet stretch of riverfront, enliven an otherwise drab area. Give it points for caring to enrich the public space.

We went to a lot of museum in old town Vicksburg. They were all great. The court house museum was awesome. And all the people were so friendly and helpful. We will visit Vicksburg again. We only had a day, it's not enough. We didn't get to the civil war battle field park. And didn't get to your any of the houses. So much history to take in.

Has awesome displays, explanations of the cival war, drawings/pictures of the war at Vicksburg. Many artillery shells with fuse explanations, costumes of the period, tools, the original clock mechanism. Drawing of the mechanism under water which sunk the gun boat U S S Charo. There was a reading stating the residents would not celebrate 4th of July for a century.

The Court House Museum is as close as you can get to the history of Vicksburg, without getting onboard a time machine. The artifacts in this museum tell the story of good times and bad in this fair city. From Native American trade on the Natchez Trace, Steam Shipping paddle wheelers plying the Mississippi River, to the terrible heart wrenching war between the states. The Court House Museum is a must see!

A must-see visit when you visit Vickburg. History in every room, great displays of our past.

The courthouse museum is a beautiful old building and packed with artifacts. It was very interesting. You could definitely spend a few hours there. It seems most of the displays and signage may be a bit old and need updating. The museum does not do a good job of presenting the black American experience. It needs to tell the full story of all residents.

The Old Courthouse Museum is one of the best in the South. The historic building is a real step back in time. The displays are set up in how a museum used to be and impressive. This is Southern history and heritage told how it really was with no contextual nonsense and apologies. This museum is absolutely wonderful and is a must see when visiting Vicksburg!

A very unexpected gem! Husband wanted to visit here thinking it was someplace else. It wasn't what he was expecting/thinking it was, but we were pleasantly surprised! SO many artifacts with the actual story/history behind them. One of my favorite stops on our trip!

There are two dogs on the property who were harassing and chasing my dog (my dog was walking on leash on sidewalk). The two dogs even went underneath the fence to continue to chase us across the street!! with their hackles raised. Unacceptable for a public place to have out of control dogs like this and I’m an animal lover saying this. It was scary Edit: gate rather than fence would be the correct word. The gate that was closed (but had room underneath for the dogs to go through). The gate is closing off access to the stairs. I even took a picture of it before the dogs showed up because I thought it was pretty

Wonderful historical experience! Great for the whole family or anyone who is interested in Civil War history. Plan an hour minimum. Staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Gift shop was great. Displays are informative and well organized. Sparked a lot of interest in the Civil War for my children.

This museum was beautiful! 7$ per person on a Saturday afternoon. No wait and it wasn’t crowded. Street parking in front or on the sides. There are a couple places for 30min parking I wouldn’t recommend because it took much longer than 30mins to go through this entire museum. They have bathrooms and they were very clean. Don’t forget to walk all the way around this courthouse to take it all in!

I was surprised at the number of original artifacts. Not only is this a great old building but 2 floors full of interesting items. Definitely 2+hrs worth of viewing. Easily one of the best museums in the area.

Was a nice museum with a wide variety of exhibits (but most of it civil war era stuff). Nice gift shop, though not sure how I feel that they are selling antiques/real historical artifacts in it. I know they have to help support and fund the museum, but as a historian it kind of rubbed me the wrong way. As there was no information to say how they came into possession of each item (bought, donated, etc.) and if they were donated if the donors were ok with them being put up for sale (I know many museums can get over run with items and multiple duplicates, and have no where to go with them). Plus many of the artifacts (civil war bullets, cannon balls,etc.) were found in the local area, so the question is whether or not they should really leave the area.

Highly recommended especially if you enjoy Coca Cola - get an ice cream float when you enter and stroll through the museum with that..! The float was delicious and the museum was very affordable - one hour would probably suffice for the experience. Bathrooms are available, too.

If you like Coca-cola or just enjoy history this is a neat little museum, in the original Biedenharn store building where Coca-Cola was first bottled. There is a small museum with some of the original bottling equipment, a working soda fountain and a huge amount of Coke memorabilia.

There is so much to learn here, but for me the best was learning how they bottled Coca-Cola for the very first time and the challenges that came with it. If you like history and soda water this is a great place to visit.

This was a neat little museum in Vicksburg! The lady running the store was nice. It was cheap but you get to see a lot of Coca Cola history. Very awesome to see all the nostalgia stuff and memorabilia. They have cool gifts and souvenirs as well.

Small but very nice place to spend an hour. Mostly displays and photos. Probably not too interesting for young kids. However there is ice cream and Coke floats available after the tour.

Stopped by the Coca-Cola museum today in Vicksburg for a quick visit. Due to time restraint, we didn't do the tour of the museum; however, we had the Root beer float. During our visit, it wasn't busy, and we had the entire store to browse without rushing. Seeing all the past bottles sure brings back a lot of great memories. The store attendant was very friendly. Stop by when you're in the area.

Darling little museum about the birth of coca-cola. It was a fun little trip. We came here for the flatten pennies. 1 machine was broken but not disappointed. We enjoy little off the wall places like this and supporting local businesses.

Absolutely love the Biedenharn Coca Cola Museum. Lots of really cool Coke memorabilia and so much of Coca Cola’s history in this place b it was a fun time for us and the young lady working there was very professional and told us about some other attractions in the area!

The museum is not very large but oh they pack a lot of really cool information and memorabilia in such a small unique place. The coke float is good but nothing you couldn't do yourself. Would like to see more done with the 1900 soda shop setup in the back. Worth seeing but take your time, it brings back a few memories.

Very educationally about the Mississippi River in general and the Origin of the Corp of Engineers. Roosevelt and Brenda were very Helpful and Friendly. The boat on display is a time capsule and gives you insight to what it takes to manage Human existence with the Mighty Mississippi. Mostly full access of the Riverboat makes it interesting for those who are interested in how it all works too.

It was a very neat museum. I loved being able to go on the boat, an overall fun experience and very educational. Free admission is awesome and it's a self guided tour.

Neat museum with free admission. So much information and history! I wish I’d had more time to thoroughly read/watch/listen to the exhibits, but my dog was waiting in the truck and a storm was coming in and I needed to get back on the road. I mostly looked at the pictures and items on display and read some things that caught my eye. I tried to go in the ship, but I have severe allergies and couldn’t handle the musty smell in it. I have that problem in a lot of museums, so it’s not just this one. The people working at the desk were very friendly to chat with. I will definitely go back someday when I have more time!

Nice, free museum. Exploring the river boat was the highlight. Staff was friendly. Our only complaint was that the audios for a number of interactive exhibits did not work.

Just Outstanding museum, tons of information on the working of shipping on the Mississippi River plus a look at the ship MV Mississippi IV did a full walk thru of ship, it was as if it was frozen in time. Yes the simulator in the pilot house is typically down simply because tourists allow horse play in a free government funded experience. And still with low funding they keep the experience as wonderful as possible. The exhibits are always amazing and informational. The educational experience is fulfilling and even entertaining for children 10 and under. The staff is great, the facility is clean and the area is greatly accessible to the handicap.

Very informative Museum, all about Mississippi river history & all that the area people went through from past to present. Staff was amazing. Also a place to pick up the Vicksburg city passport to collect a stamp for free tshirt at visitors center. A large boat on display to your as well. Great place to visit while downtown.

Interesting museum about the history and geology of the Mississippi River and the Army Corps of Engineers involvement in controlling it. Includes a self-guided tour of a river boat which is itself a time capsule of sorts. Free admission is a plus!

Great little museum that shows a cool history of the boat and the lower Mississippi River. The ladies in the front of the museum were so nice and helpful. We would definitely come back if we weren’t just visiting.

We didn't go in the actual museum, but found the river flood model very interesting.

This is an excellent museum for any age. Not only does it provide a really detailed history of the river ( and travel on it), but there are plenty of activities for young children (maybe 3&up). The steamboat is amazing!

The Old Depot Museum of Vicksburg is a very eclectic collection of railroad memorabilia, model trains, ships and Vicksburg history in an old train depot. The building itself is historically significant and nice to look at. There is really a little of everything here including a scale model of the Vicksburg battlefield. A very interesting place to visit.

The staff was amazing! I didn't catch her name, but one staff member took up so much time with my 2 young children explaining the diorama room and answering their questions. And they had a lot! Lol. We enjoyed our visit so much!

Awesome museum. Friendly amd knowledgeable staff. This is a train and civil war museum and has lots of great hidden facts about history. The owner has done a wonderful job in creating models of ships, trains, and the civil war battlefield. The gift shop is a nice size and has lots of cool trinkets for sale. The upstairs is blocked off probably for rennovations. There are also a few antique train cars behind the building across from the Mississippi river which makes for a great photo opp. If you are traveling through Mississippi I wpuld highly recommend stopping at Vicksburg as there are hundreds of historical sites.

If you like model trains and ships this is for you. It had both and quite a few of them. I went for the battlefield diorama to get a lay of the land before I visited the battlefield.

The diorama of the battlefield is very helpful in understanding how the battle was laid out. All of the models and train setups are interesting. It would have been nice if one of the train setups wasa little more accurate.

Worth the price of admission. Maybe plan on spending some time there; absolutely packed with displays

I was pleasantly surprised by this quaint museum. The displays were fun to view and their staff was attentive and extremely knowledgeable, especially about the Battle of Vicksburg. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in town.

Lots of modeling. Either train or military. Being a model train person. I enjoyed the train displays. What I really like was their scale model of the Vicksburg Battlefield. Having just driven through the battleground, it helped me to better understand the layout of the troops on the field.

Uuuuuuuuh, not really what I was expecting. It's basically a model and diorama museum focused primarily on ship models. There are also large rooms for model trains and a Battle of Vicksburg 12mm scale diorama. There's not much in the way of text or educational material.

DAVE & DEWAYNE were excellent tour guides and museum keepers for the public. They have extensive knowledge with military & local history, model building, excavating for museum pieces, refurbishing toys, collecting, and displaying artifacts. There is a film you can watch and/or listen to while you walk around, two floors of displays, and a very large gift shop. There is something for everyone: ships, dioramas, trains, planes, toys and autos. They are located downtown near the river, Levee Marketplace, Lower Miss. River Museum & Catfish Art park and Washington Street. HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR ALL AGES!! (Sorry, I see my pics are out of order).

Very friendly staff! Knowledgeable as well!! They've got some cool little set ups to check out. It's about five bucks to see the museum. Free for military. The gift shop has some great gifts that are way cheaper than some of the same gifts at the national park. So if you're going to do some gift shopping, this is a good place to get some cool stuff.

This was a very significant campaign, and the final battle was also very significant. You can see a lot of the battlefield intact. It is well preserved and The rangers are phenomenal. I highly recommend you spend all day there. Also, as an added bonus, they have a largely intact ironclad, the Cairo. It's very impressive. My group spent 2 days going over the battlefield.

This place was very cool, but we didn't realize how far away the picnic tables were. They were pretty far and we found only one underneath the shade. A few more tables would definitely be nice right around in that area

Vicksburg National Military Park is an awesome park. I proudly served in the US military so I especially am interested in any military battle but especially our own military history. If you are a vet the entrance fees are waived and you receive a discount in the gift shop. We suggest that you plan on spending a minimum of three hours in the park your first visit. It is a great place. We have been here several times and we plan on returning in the future. We highly recommend visiting.

Stayed in an AirBnB near here for two weeks and took many walks and bike rides in the park over that time period. Just an excellent park. Very well maintained and loads of interesting history. The elevation can be brutal (when walking, running, or biking :) The salvaged USS Cairo ironclad gunboat is incredible! There is a small museum with artifacts and models/drawings. One afternoon we were walking through the park and came upon a prescribed burn in one of valleys by graveyard road. It was super cool to watch and they had the area very safe and secure. Definitely check out the acoustics in the Illinois Memorial. We highly recommend visiting this park!

An amazing place to visit if you like history. Has a nice drive with audio tour stops. Some locations have been closed as of early 2023 due to flooding that washed away some roads. This does not take away from the tour. Plenty of signage to explain how this battle took place. Has a great visitor center.

Beautiful grounds and monuments. You can take your time driving thru the park. You can also get out and walk the grounds. Stop at the information center first. The ranger provided helpful information.

Large park that you drive through (you can also walk or bike). Self-guided audio tour on the National Parks app. Recommend a guided tour if you want a more complete picture of the campaign and the seige... call in advance to arrange a guide. The trees have grown on over 160 years, so it can be hard to get a sense of the battle lines and how close Union and rebel forces were to each other. Visitor Center has a short video that summarizes the battles and the seige - definitely worth watching. The exhibits in the Visitor Center are also informative, particularly the info about the cannon shot and how it evolved. Only bathrooms I saw were at the Visitor Center.

What a great experience visiting here. It's a driving touring with places to park and check out some signs and statues. The area the battle occurred is an amazing trench that must of had some terribly, grizzly combat. We missed the visitors' center, but when I go back, I'll start there with the movie, so I'll have a better background of what all we saw. Some of the sites are up on hills that takes good mobility, but several are around terrain flat enough for decent mobility to allow you to walk right up too. The cool thing is even without any mobility, you can drive through and have an awesome visit. This is why we need to preserve all of our history, so we're not destined to repeat it. We also had a fabulous interaction with the Park Ranger at the gate upon entrance. And then we chatted as the park was closing, she was so personable and fun!

unfortunately when i was there half the park and the museum were closed for no apparent reason, but the slothfulness of the staff didn't stop me from enjoying as much as i could. the best part was definitely the ironside that you can go on. I've never seen one of those before

My husband and I spent about 5 hr going through the battlefield. They have a good film to view in the visitor center that is very helpful to watch before going on the drive tour. We took our time throughout the self tour to read unit markers, etc. The natural fortresses were amazing and gave understanding how the confederates could hold Vicksburg as long as they did. Really neat to see the USS Cairo as they brought her up out of the river and have a museum on site. Check days that museum is open. National Cemetary is there too. Check the acoustics in the large Indiana monument next to the Shirley House. This was only house remaining from that time of battle.

A stunning place of tremendous value in American history. If you have any remote interest in that subject than the park is well worth the visit. It also has incredible vistas of Delta Bluff country and the mighty Mississippi river. If you're visiting during the warm season make sure to bring lots of water. Also, if you're interested in a tour please look into reserving a Licensed Battlefield Guide ~ Congress permits only Vicksburg and Gettysburg to have such passionate, well informed guides and they are eager to explain the siege to you.

Great place to visit for history. The park had 2 areas closed we wanted to visit. The visitor center showed a movie that was very informative. It was too hot to get out at every marker. In the area, have a full day, this place is a must.

Historians have done a great job building this National Park and Monument. There are hundreds of monuments, plaques, sculptures, and displays throughout the rugged terrain covering over 2,500 acres with nicely paved touring roads throughout the park. Handicapped accessible. We also found there were several exits around the perimeter of the park. We went to get coffee, then came back to the park and finished the tour. The Vicksburg National Cemetery is here, it covers 116 acres and has over 18,000 graves, only around 5,000 of them are identified. Don't forget to go see the U.S.S. Cairo and museum. We enjoyed the tour, we often got out of the car to to look at the cannons or other monuments. Thank you for the work that you've done here for the people to enjoy.

If you’re a history buff, this is a great place to explore. It was a gorgeous day and we really enjoyed riding through the park on the motorcycle. Didn’t have a lot of time, but you really could spend all day there exploring all the different sites in the park. Beautiful grounds and well kept with tons of history and information. Well done!

A fantastic military park - make sure you get the free map for the numbered sites along the way. The National Parks Pass provided free admission, too. The USS Cairo was the highlight of the experience for us - make sure you verify the hours that the museum is open. The outdoor exhibit and ship is always open.

We went into the museum part, and watched the video that explained the lead up to this battle, the battle itself, and the aftermath. You should watch this video before the tour so you have a better orientation. It's always a plus to have things explay, THEN to go exploring about. Being a history guy, I was thrilled. Time well spent... 👍👍 if you have the national park pass, no charge!!

This could have been a good place, but several roads inside the park were closed. Due to this we could not see the cemetery or the ship. However, the reason for the one star is the picture posted below. My family has been to over two dozen parks and this was the rudest park ranger I’ve ever experienced. He constantly harassed my family and made crude remarks about my children keeping their hands to themselves and remaining close to us. He then made several off colored comments about children in general to his associate. At no time did my children leave my side and they never talked louder than a whisper. This man obviously hates children and made no point to hide his prejudice when addressing the public. I would highly suggest the park service reconsider having someone like this as the greeter and face to their park. I would think he would be more valuable scrubbing toilets or spearing leaves on the backside of the property away from civilized adults. I’ve uploaded his picture so other families might avoid this man in the future.

We have been to a fair number of National Park battlefields (Gettysburg, Valley Forge, Antietam, etc,) and this may be the best. Marked exceedingly well. Do not miss the Cairo Gunboat Museum on the northwest end of the park -- a real gem.

Took a house tour and I will for sure be coming back to stay at this bed and breakfast! Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Informative video of the history of the house. Super clean! Overall great experience.

Southern hospitality is served in a deep dish here. We were warmly greeted by Tammy at check in. The inn and grounds are perfectly maintained and we enjoyed wine on the terrace. Dinner was quite delicious and every staff person we encountered was friendly and professional. Our room was handsomely furnished, clean and a very comfortable bed. We enjoyed 2 days here.

We went to a meeting of a fairly large group of men and women. Anchuca was decorated with a beautiful Christmas tree with all the trimmings of the season. The food, service and beverages were excellent.

What a delightful place to have an intimate supper. We were greeted by the hostess & led to the library for our meal. The furnishings were period correct & of very high quality. The woodwork was dark & rich. The paintings & other decor were excellent choices for this mansion. I am sure that the rooms are great also. I had a pork ribeye with sweet potato puree & creamed spinach. The pork was fork tender & was well paired with the vegetables. Delicious!. My wife had the filetwith a salad & broccoli. Also delicious! For dessert, we had warmed peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream. Oh, my! We definitely recommend Anchuca to anyone traveling through Vickburg.

We took the tour as part of a homeschool group! Bailey did an excellent job of providing information and answering questions. This was one of the better tours of an Antebellum home, that we've taken. Would highly recommend a visit, if you wish to learn a bit of Vicksburg's early history.

This beautiful home has a fascinating museum, friendly service, and conveniently located to I-20. The room was comfortable and the restaurant was delicious! The carriage house rooms need blackout drapery due to the bright street light shining in through the blinds all night. The grounds, plants, and pool area need much more care to enhance the beauty of this historical property.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay. The room in the carriage house was comfortable but I would suggest a higher toilet! Toilet is one for kindergarten students. The food was fabulous! Breakfast every morning was hot and delicious. Our steak on Saturday evening was perfect! The croissants were excellent and we tried to buy some but they were out! I wished they shipped! The best feature was the staff! They were very helpful and friendly! What a jewel of history! Thank you for a wonderful stay in Vicksburg!

We had several issues with our room but I prefer not to elaborate. The staff are wonderful people but they are limited in number and quite stretched. As a result, the overall maintenance of the facility doesn't get done. I gave it four stars because of the gracious staff and we enjoyed the cozy restaurant inside the mansion and particularly loved the sunday brunch.

We absolutely loved our stay at Anchuca! We stayed in one of the carriage house rooms. The environment was just what you would expect in an upscale antebellum bed and breakfast. It felt like we had stepped back into the 1800s. We enjoyed both breakfast and dinner there. Breakfast was a delicious variety of breakfast items served on one plate and was more than we could eat. Dinner was very elegant and classy. The staff were incredibly helpful and attentive. We will definitely be back.

Anchuca is full of Southern charm, comfort, and hospitality. There is not one bad thing I could say about my visit! I will be back!

Celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary there. The setting, the service, and the house itself could not have been better. If you are looking for a weekend get-a-way or a longer trip, Anchuca is the best!

The food quality and service is consistently high quality. My children specifically request Anchuca when they come home. We recommend them to anyone we know visiting Vicksburg.

Many such Inns are in historic homes, but the history of this Inn and the authenticity is special. The rooms are very comfortable. Unsurprisingly, the electrical outlets are less than optimal, but the plumbing is fine. A decent authentic southern breakfast is included. A great stay.

It was very nice of Sam to squeeze us in on our anniversary on 29 February. I really appreciate his effort. The food and atmosphere is excellent and i will surely return. The catfish and creole rice was excellent.

We stayed at Anchuca for a night during a recent driving trip and it was truly amazing. The mansion is not only beautiful, but historically significant. The restaurant was also outstanding! It was our first time in Vicksburg and we will definitely be back!

The Anchuca Historic Mansion and Inn is as beautiful as it is interesting. The interior decor is lovely and the guest rooms are grand. This is a really nice place to stay and the restaurant is first class. The owners are very friendly as are the entire staff. Historically, Confederate President Jefferson Davis gave one of his last farewell addresses from the balcony while his brother Joseph lived here.

This hotel is indeed lovely. The charm of the place and the rooms are worth a visit, but sadly not the service. We did not eat dinner in the restaurant and judging by the breakfast I am pretty glad we did not. After being instructed where to sit and where the coffee was located, that was the extent of our breakfast service experience and any form of communication with our server. 5 mins later our server arrived with a bowl of cold breakfast items, none of which had been given as a choice. Cold egg scramble, on top of cold potatoes, on top of cold grits with a couple of rashers of (you guessed it) cold bacon. All surrounded by fruit (also cold, but that was ok!!). Our server never once came back to us or communicated in anyway. It is such a shame such a lovely place was marred by such a bad experience.

We had the most amazing dining experience at Anchuca! The food was incredible. The service was incredible. The atmosphere was incredible. My husband and I both got the filet and it was so tender and delicious you could cut it with a spoon! We also stayed in the guest house and it was so beautiful and historic. We will definitely be back!

We went to a lot of museum in old town Vicksburg. They were all great. The court house museum was awesome. And all the people were so friendly and helpful. We will visit Vicksburg again. We only had a day, it's not enough. We didn't get to the civil war battle field park. And didn't get to your any of the houses. So much history to take in.

Has awesome displays, explanations of the cival war, drawings/pictures of the war at Vicksburg. Many artillery shells with fuse explanations, costumes of the period, tools, the original clock mechanism. Drawing of the mechanism under water which sunk the gun boat U S S Charo. There was a reading stating the residents would not celebrate 4th of July for a century.

The Court House Museum is as close as you can get to the history of Vicksburg, without getting onboard a time machine. The artifacts in this museum tell the story of good times and bad in this fair city. From Native American trade on the Natchez Trace, Steam Shipping paddle wheelers plying the Mississippi River, to the terrible heart wrenching war between the states. The Court House Museum is a must see!

A must-see visit when you visit Vickburg. History in every room, great displays of our past.

The courthouse museum is a beautiful old building and packed with artifacts. It was very interesting. You could definitely spend a few hours there. It seems most of the displays and signage may be a bit old and need updating. The museum does not do a good job of presenting the black American experience. It needs to tell the full story of all residents.

The Old Courthouse Museum is one of the best in the South. The historic building is a real step back in time. The displays are set up in how a museum used to be and impressive. This is Southern history and heritage told how it really was with no contextual nonsense and apologies. This museum is absolutely wonderful and is a must see when visiting Vicksburg!

A very unexpected gem! Husband wanted to visit here thinking it was someplace else. It wasn't what he was expecting/thinking it was, but we were pleasantly surprised! SO many artifacts with the actual story/history behind them. One of my favorite stops on our trip!

There are two dogs on the property who were harassing and chasing my dog (my dog was walking on leash on sidewalk). The two dogs even went underneath the fence to continue to chase us across the street!! with their hackles raised. Unacceptable for a public place to have out of control dogs like this and I’m an animal lover saying this. It was scary Edit: gate rather than fence would be the correct word. The gate that was closed (but had room underneath for the dogs to go through). The gate is closing off access to the stairs. I even took a picture of it before the dogs showed up because I thought it was pretty

Wonderful historical experience! Great for the whole family or anyone who is interested in Civil War history. Plan an hour minimum. Staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Gift shop was great. Displays are informative and well organized. Sparked a lot of interest in the Civil War for my children.

This museum was beautiful! 7$ per person on a Saturday afternoon. No wait and it wasn’t crowded. Street parking in front or on the sides. There are a couple places for 30min parking I wouldn’t recommend because it took much longer than 30mins to go through this entire museum. They have bathrooms and they were very clean. Don’t forget to walk all the way around this courthouse to take it all in!

I was surprised at the number of original artifacts. Not only is this a great old building but 2 floors full of interesting items. Definitely 2+hrs worth of viewing. Easily one of the best museums in the area.

Was a nice museum with a wide variety of exhibits (but most of it civil war era stuff). Nice gift shop, though not sure how I feel that they are selling antiques/real historical artifacts in it. I know they have to help support and fund the museum, but as a historian it kind of rubbed me the wrong way. As there was no information to say how they came into possession of each item (bought, donated, etc.) and if they were donated if the donors were ok with them being put up for sale (I know many museums can get over run with items and multiple duplicates, and have no where to go with them). Plus many of the artifacts (civil war bullets, cannon balls,etc.) were found in the local area, so the question is whether or not they should really leave the area.

Wife and I had a little weekend getaway to Vicksburg. Love touring old houses especially ones that have ghost stories. Let me tell you this one was fantastic. First, our guide Melanie was great, well versed on the property, house and its history. She put so much energy in the stories, it was amazing. Being there you do feel like you are taken back several time periods in history. This is a must do while in Vicksburg.

Fantastic tour guides. Very interesting and informative. We did the combination of the History Tour and the Haunted Tour. Both were very enjoyable. Some really great stories in the Haunted Tour.

Had the history tour & the ghost tour too. This house is built from oldest to newest in front. Grounds are pretty nice & house is hidden by trees but real nice! Tour guides are very informed & enjoyed both of them very much!

My son and I took the haunted tour with Grace, our wonderful and knowledge tour guide. We absolutely enjoyed this experience. McRaven house is full of history and stories, which were perfectly told by Miss Grace. Although we didn't have any ghostly experiences during the tour, the stories and the whole ambience of the house was well worth the tour.

We did the ghost tour on 2/11/22. Our tour guides were WONDERFUL! The tour was very informative and interesting. I highly recommend this tour!

Parking is at the end of the road and the house is a short walk away. Parking was not tight as I was in a Ram 2500. Yes, the path to the house is uneven brick but very fitting/ natural for the house. The front door is kept locked so you have to knock or call the number posted. Nice rockers on the front porch to sit in while waiting for one tour to finish and ours to start. Our tour guide Michael was amazing and provided great history of the house, furnishings and past owners. Our tour was around an hour long and was not rushed with plenty of time to ask questions. Such a neat place to walk in history of the house. Worth a stop for sure. As this is a very old two story house with an uneven brick walkway, those with mobility issues may have a problem at this natural historical location.

We arrived at 4 for the 4:30 Historical tour but were informed they weren't doing a 4:30 tour that day. So we went to eat dinner and came back for the 7:00 haunted tour. Grace's storytelling was great. It was very entertaining. I think we would have preferred the daytime historical tour as it was very dark inside and we weren't able to explore and appreciate the grounds outside. Due to nature of the old house I would not recommend for those who have difficulty getting around. Overall, we were thoroughly entertained and had a great time!

Had an awesome time! We went on the haunted tour this weekend, and our guide was wonderful. No ghost sightings sadly, but did feel lightheaded and nauseous in one room. Even if you're a skeptic, the tour is worth it just to see the beauty of the house at night. Very great story telling.

This attraction is tucked away at the end of a residential area - hidden behind a gated "forest." When we arrived at the door we discovered it was locked, but a sign was posted with a number to call. The call was answered by a guide who asked us to wait, and he'd be with us as soo as he'd finished up a tour. We enjoyed a few minutes in the front porch rockers, admiring the gardens surrounding the house. We started our tour with just two of us, but before leaving the parlour another couple joined us. It was nice, and intimate, and our guide was knowledgeable and engaging. We had wanted to do one of their haunted tours, but were in town on the wrong day. We shared that with our guide, and he very kindly shared some of the tidbits/information that was part of that tour with us during our "history" tour. Pictures (no flash) were allowed all through the house, and it was chocked full of interesting "daily life" items from the various occupants of the home. Plan on at least an hour... but because we were a small group, and two of the ladies in our foursome were history teachers... we spent almost two full hours with our gracious guide. This tour (and our guides dinner suggestion of 10 South!) were highlights of our day in Vicksburg!

This place has been on my bucket list as I love all things paranormal. My my goodness the guides are really good! They were so accommodating and let my mom and I do the historical tour back to back so one could sit with the dog. And even let me walk her around to outside grounds. This place did not disappoint and I can’t wait to come back for the haunted tour tonight!! 10/10 would recommend!! Thank you Nick for the great tour!

We took both the historical and haunted ghost tour. Grace was an excellent docent, both friendly and informative. The ghost tour was also interesting, the house has a strange history. So even though there were no ghost encounters, the stories behind the past residents make you believe there could be ghosts.

Such a wonderful welcome center! The history you can learn inside is beautifully showcased. The bridge we crossed before and the view once we stopped. I enjoyed it the most so far. I believe there's more but was closed to public. Would have loved to stay and each lunch picnic style. Unfortunately no where to sit and enjoy it. Was a real bummer to be honest. Its a great spot for it. Worth the stop and easy on/off ramps.

The welcome center was closed. The restrooms were dirty, had a foul odor and had no hand towels. The only nice thing I can say is the view of the river bridge was nice.

Great view of the Mississippi River. Visited on a holiday after hours. The center itself was not open, just the bathrooms. The bathrooms were fairly clean, but no soap to wash hands. The guests were fun to visit while we took a break from our long trips. We do love in a small world.

Was a quick stop on my day of travels. I am from Ms but live in TX….stopped here for first time just because it was convenient. Staff was very nice….asked me to sign the book and for sure I did. I did walk around some while there….was a nice view of the bridges and river from there so I took a few….and checked in on FB so my followers and family could see where I was…..I will add this to my list of possible stops along our path. When you have traveled the road as many years as us….we have stops marked everywhere….where the best coffee is…..where the best breakfast is…and of course where the clean bathrooms are!! This will be added to our list!

So glad I stopped in on my way through the area. What incredible views! Only downside is the welcome center was not open today, Monday. But still quite the worthy stop!

We stopped for the bathroom! Great view of the bridges and river around back. Not much room to walk to dogs but we got it done. I guess you can go around back to the green space.

This stop was a great experience. The ladies inside the welcome center are so nice. I learned a good bit about Mississippi from them. They even gave me a paper road map.

Although a little difficult to get into if it is crowded and you are in a large RV it is a really cool welcome center with nice views of the Mississippi River.

Always enjoy stopping as we travel through. Clean facilities and friendly staff. My favorite part is getting an up close look at the bridge and the tressell and watching the river. Just got a couple of neat photos before sundown.

From Dallas to Atlanta During a road trip on route 20 At the Mississippi Welcome Center visited. The bathroom was also clean, Various things for travelers There were also guidebooks. Know the history of Mississippi It's a useful place.

Really spacious grounds with a lovely view of the river. They have a guestbook inside that you can sign, free state maps and booklets. Beautiful facility with lots of places to sit.

Accessible traveling both ways from I-20 at the Louisiana State Line, this Welcome Center did not have any picnic tables that I could see, but did have a spot for animals to relieve themselves. There are clean-ish restrooms with hand dryers that work when you pass by, but do not work when you wave your hands in front of them or under them. The toilet paper was running low on a Friday afternoon. There is ample enough parking, a view of the mighty Mississippi. Inside there are pamphlets of things to do nearby.

Wow ! The young lady attending the front area was fantastic. We hit it off immediately. She was very kind and happy. Told me what I needed to know. Answering every question I had. Fantastic building. No Elvis .

Easy access from I 20 either way. The restrooms are vintage and could stand refreshing. Some of the graffiti date from the turn of the century. Otherwise a most satisfactory stop.

The view from this location is beautiful. You look out up on the Mississippi river and the bridge and train trestle that crosses it, it is breathtaking. There are parts of the area that are close, I’m assuming for repairs and the green space is not available to you because of the slope down to the river but all in all it’s a beautiful restaurant.

Neat little place! Good little tourist spot for someone who lives out of state (that's me). Came to see the Mississippi River and ended up loving the area! Impressed with the level of artistry on the murals and other art.

The Catfish Row Art Park has a nice collection of structures that to me resemble the old stack caps of riverboats. A nice area to stroll and admire the art that is all around. There are also some historic plaques displayed in the area. The water feature was not working while we were there but I understand it is very nice.

We were driving the great river road and stopped here for lunch. It's an awesome park! There's art, music, and the riverfront! The levee murals are a walk through history. Definitely worth the effort!

What a shame! This place could be so nice, but has fallen by the wayside. A local Eagle Scout or group should take this on to rehab it and make it enjoyable again.

Had a picnic with the kids. water views awesome ! sunset great!! Wonderful park for kids, bathroom clean and tidy. Safe and inviting.

LOVE this park!! So clean and family friendly!! We also loved the murals across the road that are so rich in state history.

First time walking by the waterfront and the splash pad Had catfish on the ground really cool. It was clean and all the kids seemed to be having a blast.

Some kids were having a really good time playing in the water feature. We were actually there to walk around and look at the murals across the street. Beautiful and interesting depicting the area history. Wish we would have had more time to read each of the explanations, but we were on a time constraint.

The hotel room felt old and dirty. We stayed at Bally's Vicksburg so we could have one night of gambling fun but then the casino tables closed at 11pm. Had we known the tables were closing that early we would have never stayed here. The people working the tables were great along with the staff helping us with our hotel room, but it is clear they do not have the support of their management or of Bally's corporate behind them. first of all, the outside is rough looking and small. and when we arrived, the electricity was completely out in the wholeeee hotel. but the casino was all lit up and fine, they had a generator apparently. but there wasn’t one in the hotel. we did not go in but the reviews of the inside sounds awful. don’t stay here. also this is random, but some lady came up to us and said “good morning”. it was 11 pm.

I had a special feature on one of their machines. And it locked up on me, so I couldn't use any of the buttons or collect my winnings. It took over an hour for some help to arrive after flagging down the cameras, flagging down the cocktail waitresses who just turned away from me, I finally got the attention of a nice cleaning lady who radioed for some help. I tried to play a little bit after that but that episode straight cool me off

This casino is finally rising from the ashes but it's still not what it should be... Half the slots don't pay out what the game says it pays out. Ex: play 250 lines at ¢5 per line with any xxxxx same symbol lineup should return more than ¢8 but that's not the case here. I recommend a group of casino auditors comb each casino in Vicksburg MS to exploit this house cheating. Most people never actually notice these small details but I am a highly ranked professional in more than one casino and it's not from getting shortchanged by the eye in the sky. First, I''ll preface this review by saying staff was AMAZING, kind and helpful. However, this is the location Bally's seems to have forgotten they even owned. As others has said, be aware of local geography and know that you face a steep drive down the hill to get to the shore, where this hotel is. That's the nature of being riverfront in this area (every hotel on this stretch is at the bottom of a steep hill). On to my room: yes, it was dated. Considering that Bally's had a huge profit increase during the pandemic by buying a boatload of broadcast stations, one would think they'd move some of that into upgrading their older locations. They did not. My room had the basics: hair dryer, 2 decent (but tall, as is the trend nationwide) double beds, a nice view, bottled water, Bigelow's toiletries, a safe, a fridge, microwave and cable TV. It also has internet...kind of. My test speed was 1Mbps, and that was a stone's throw from the front desk. Also, what happened to the light bulbs? Two of three lamps had none, and one outlet had no cover. Overall, I'd say go elsewhere, yet that would deprive the great staff of wages. This is ALL on Bally's Corporate, not the local staff. Too bad Corporate leaves them hanging with nothing to work with.

Didn't see a non-smoking area. Restrooms were clean. Staff were friendly. Had dinner in the only restaurant and, after 20 minutes, still didn't have drinks. Finally, after about 30 minutes we got our food in "to go" boxes and a bag,even though it was clear we were eating in. Slots were good. Would I ho back? Probably not.

I had a bad experience with management staff on March 31st. One of the shift managers told me to leave the building and that Ballys don't need my money because I was defending this older lady because he came and made this lady get up and give one of her machines that she was playing with good money in both to another lady which was (white). The management staff said that she couldn't play 2 machine and I asked him where on the machine it states that because people plays 2 or 3 machine all the time. He said he will have to put one up. I didn't think it was right for them to make the old lady get up to give her machine to someone else. So, management put me out. I contacted his manager and he said in the regulations it states you can't play 2 progressive machine but who reads them coming to a casino if it's not displayed. I told him that the staff member was wrong to watch the camera. He call me today and said he watched the video and I was the aggressor towards the staff. I said really, I am 5 feet tall. I was still playing my machine talking to him with the security guards standing there. I was telling him exactly what took place. I asked him for his boss name and number and he said he is refusing to give me any info to contact anyone over him because he us the head person at Ballys in Vicksburg. If the staff is going to act like that towards people that comes in there to spend their hard earned money we don't need to go in Ballys. Let's go somewhere else that's going to treat people better. I told me family and friends to tell other about the situation and how I was treated along with the older lady. I didn't know either of the ladies but right is right like I told each if the staff managers.

This was horrible place to stay I guess we got lucky the first time we stayed because this time was horrible. We had to change rooms because the front desk didn't want to take care of the few things wrong with original room. So we are now in 2nd room and the microwave didn't work the room was in need of major cleaning and repairs. We attempted to contact front desk and they NEVER answered we had to call the outside phone number to reach anyone. Our friends stayed downstairs and the alarm to the outside door went off at 6:30am and they couldn't reach anyone at the front desk to see why the alarms were sounding. The front desk at check in could have cared less about our concerns she crossed her arms and just asked what she could help us with. DO NOT stay there not worth the cost of the room.

This place cost 145 dollars a night and should only cost 30. Worst rooms I ever stayed in. The door looked as though it had been kicked in several times. It wouldn't open initially. Had to get the maintenance guy to open it. Everything looked old and tore up. Now on to the casino. These were the tightest slot machines in the history of tight slot machines. Also if you want to lose a lot of money playing cards definitely come to this casino.

The casino slots are tighter, then most casinos making it hard to win anything decent. I’ve been here a couple of times and never had any luck. It’s hard to get into the bonus on the slots, and when you finally do, the payouts are small. I’ll lose two or $300 pretty fast every time I go there and then I leave.

My wife and I are frequent visitors of casinos. This one is by far the worst of 60 or so we have visited. Rude customer service, No coffee in the hotel because covid killed the self serve machine.. they put a sign on it a couple years ago and never removed it. In thr casino, we ordered a drink when we finally found a server (about 30 minutes after sitting at a machine.) We wanted another one about 10 minutes later and we were rudely told we had to wait 20 minutes before getting another as she walked right by. We brought it up with management- he could not have cared less! We will never go to Ballys again. Awful.

I have to give credit where credit is due.. There is an employee at Ballys, named Jeffrey not sure what his last name is, that deserves some praise and to be acknowledged for the awesome guy he is!! He has been the most genuinely nice person and always a pleasure to see and he always is sure to go out of his way to speak and make everyone feel very welcomed.. thanks

Was told I could lose between 25 to 300 and I would receive it back in tge mail from the rewards desk. She did not say you would get rewards in the mail that you had to use at that location. Didn't disclose that information. Very very shady. Got something in the mail that you could redeem 3 vouchers for 60.00 each week. Won't go here and will tell atleast 10 people not to as well plus anyone that reads this. Plus they got rid of planet moolah slot machine if you like that one. There is a better casino down the road.

This casino was really nice on the inside. The reason for 1 star was because it was missing some of the popular games that you see at some. No electronic roulette was a big letdown for me.

What a great little gallery of mainly folk art. We really loved this place. Really cool space with local art filling every brim. Some fun and funky pieces of jewelry and art in all mediums. Beautiful watercolors, some great mixed media, just great stuff. We would highly recommend this place.

I love this amazing little Gallery. I want to go back to Vicksburg just to purchase Art. The owner was so nice and new all the artist personally. There was so much to see. I wanted everything. If you are passing near Vicksburg, MS it is definitely worth the stop. Also grab one excellent cup of coffee from the coffee shop downstairs.

I came. I browsed. I bought. I fell in love. The Attic Gallery is not just a place, it's a passion. The love and respect of art and artist is woven into the visual tapestry of color and texture and pleasure while the oohs and ahhs and sharp inhales and soft clinks and clanks of arranging and rearranging treasures becomes the joyous soundtrack of the shopping experience. This first visit I was overwhelmed with the urge for beautiful pottery. I hope for more visits and purchases. What a wonderful atmosphere these lovely, smart, knowledgeable ladies have created as they curate and caretake precious works.

This is an amazing gallery. There was so many things I could have bought! It sells a wide ranging collection of extremely high quality regional artists. It is so amazing to talk with people who can give you wonderful insights to the artists some of whom have provided work to the gallery for decades. It is an absolute must visit. I look forward to hanging my artwork when I return to New Zealand.

Absolutely the finest art gallery in the state of Mississippi. The Attic Gallery has been in Vicksburg for 50 years! Fine art, folk art in every medium, painting, photography, glass, jewelry, fabric, sculpture, ceramic, stoneware, wood, paper, etc.. all curated by an accomplished artist in her own right. Something at every price level from $10 to $10,000. Lesley K. Silver is a Mississippi treasure with the awards to prove it. If you are anywhere in the area stop here- it's absolutely worth a trip from New Orleans, Memphis. or anywhere, and Vicksburg is a gem of a host town. If I could give this incredible place 10 stars it would still fall short, it's in a class by itself.

Wonderful art and wonderful staff. We have been going there since the 1990s. We bought several amazing and authentic folk art pieces that really show Mississippi life. We love the Attic!!
