The Maritime Museum counts as a must-see if you have children, if you love sailing vessels, building boat models, or just being near the water. The exhibitions are superb. You may have an opportunity to watch builders using a broad assortment of tools an skills to fabricate a replica of the sailing ship, The Dove. You'll have opportunities for cruises on power vessels and possibly on a Skipjack if you time your trip right and make appropriate arrangements. A model makers guild meets there regularly (Mondays, check the museum's website for details), but you can tour their building while the museum is open to study some astonished accurate models of various sailing vessels. Plan to spend hours to absorb everything.

Our Chesapeake cruise docked inside the maritime museum. Without a doubt this is the best living history museum in the USA. All the pertinent trades are busy building a full scale DOVE. This 40 ton ship was the first to bring settlers to the bay centuries ago. The museum also displays the history of crabbing and oyster fishing. Many sailboats are on display. It is all expertly done. Drive or sail to St. Michael's, MD and be amazed.

Enjoyed another visit to this special place when we opted to take Watermark's Lady Sarah yacht from Annapolis for their tour called A Day On The Bay to St Michaels.

Great spot to take in local history and beautiful water views. You can spend 90 mins here or easily over 2-3 hours if you take your time to enter all the buildings. Great for families and dog friendly. Would recommend, especially if looking to support the local community.

This is a good museum. Lots of hands on exhibits. Can go on boats and move wheels and honk horns and other things to entertain kids. Make the items user friendly. They were finishing restoration the the DOVE, which is the reproduction of the first 2 ships that came to settle Maryland in 1600s. Oystering exhibits, recreation exhibits, and of course the Hooper Straits Lighthouse is there to tour as well as fog bell from Point Lookout and many more fog bells. I think in season there might be more staff and more things going on. St. Michaels is a pretty little town. As far as maritime museum go though I like Calvert's much better.

As a lighthouse lover I really enjoyed being able to climb this lighthouse and look out on the water. It wasn't very busy the afternoon I went as I don't think tourist season had quite picked up yet and I was up there all alone and it was very peaceful. I enjoyed the museum and everything else there was to look at at read. The gift shop had a good selection and the lady working was very lovely and chatted with me a bit.

Super friendly staff and very knowledgeable about the museum.

A whole lot of history on display all oer the site. The boat building house was great. Everyone was very willing to fill you in on what was being built and restored. A ver nice gentleman who was painting their newest boat answered a lot of questions about why certain paints and varnishes were chosen and about applying them. So many boats and information all around the grounds.

We had an amazing experience yesterday at their homeschool day. We had the pleasure of having Melissa and Alyssa as our tour guides. They were so great with the kids. Extremely knowledgeable. I really commend them! My kids really enjoyed the entire lesson which was about 1.5 hours learning about oysters and their roll in the bay. Thanks for a great day full of learning and fun!

Lovely place to just sit and relax looking at the bay. Lighthouse and boar workshops interesting. Definitely recommend taking Patriotic cruise to finish trip off.

We made a last minute decision to visit the museum today before we left Saint Michael's. So glad that we did! I had NO idea the museum encompassed so many buildings. So many wonderful exhibits, and nicely grouped and presented. Everything from the Revoluntionary War to modern issues of erosion and preservation is covered. We especially loved the decoy duck exhibit and sailboat displays. Nice gift shop with local pieces and quality souvenirs. Plenty of restrooms and parking. Wish we had found some drink machines as we were there quit a while. But that's the only thing I would have changed. Will return again with the whole family.

This is an interactive, expansive and informative museum. A lot of the exhibits are hands on and life-size so that you feel immersed in the history. I was able to use a tool to pull up real oysters, climb the lighthouse, and so much more. We were even able to watch the planking ceremony where the last plank was added to the ship they were building. Give yourself several hours if you would like to see it all!

Before visiting a place I always check their website and reviews to determine how accessible a place is. There was little mention on the reviews but the website of this museum said multiple times that the location is accessible. There really needs to be an industry standard because this was anything except accessible. We paid $32.00 to spend ten minutes before we realized that I could not navigate this property. Even the areas that has a ramp, had traffic flow where anyone who used a cane or walker will have to walk all the way around in order to use the ramp. Let’s set the stage. I have limited mobility and primarily use a walker, however, sometimes I use a cane. After paying the admission and going through the orientation with the docent, I made my way out to the complex of buildings and places to visit. There is no easy flow to visit these buildings. To get to the boat shop you have to go all the way around the building and then double back to get to the next location. If that isn’t bad enough, they have gravel all over which made it nearly impossible for me to push my walker through. They do have a few benches throughout, but it just wasn’t enough. It was if they gave no thought to visitors with mobility challenges. We were so disappointed and we wound up leaving because I couldn’t get my walker through the gravel. One if the things we couldn’t figure out, why is it called a museum when there isn’t any building that interprets very much? There are signs here and there and it really is a nice property if it’s a nice day, but we saw very little interpreted. Even though I couldn’t go to the different buildings, my husband did run ahead to see what was and it was not a museum in the typical sense at all. Before we left, the woman in the museum store did offer to give us out money back but that wasn’t the point. We were really looking forward to visiting the property and it was really disappointing how little they planned for visitors with accessibility concerns. Even though they saw me struggling they did nothing to alleviate my struggle.

Great sweet wine but unfortunately they won’t take larger groups. The chocolate zin is amazing!!!! Also, get there early because they lock the doors 15 minutes before closing and kick everyone out at 6 PM even if it is full of people purchasing wine.

We came in for a tasting and left with disappointment. The service was awful, the lady stood behind the counter with her back turned to us and we had to walk up and ring the doorbell while fully insight of each other. The tastings were overpriced and the wine underwhelming. The only good part of the experience was joking around with the other guests about how the brewery next door was significantly better. Even if you prefer wine over beer, skip this one and grab something next door.

Love the little elements here and very glad we are members. We have a new hire Caroline for the tasting, (less than a week!) and they are already very well trained on the types. Love it everytime.

We had a wonderful wine tasting! We did the sweet wine tasting and it did not disappoint. For only $11 we were able to sample all 11 sweet wines. The chocolate zin was surprisingly delicious! Plus, the couple who served us (we wish we got their names) were absolutely amazing. We would highly recommend and can’t wait to go back!

A friend had been very excited to take me here and spoke highly of the place - but we both were very disappointed with our visit. The samples in the flight were pre-poured, room-temperature, the sparkling samples were flat, and all were very tiny. Some of the 1 ounce glasses were less than 1/4 full and the pour level was ridiculously inconsistent. The flights of 12 were way overpriced at $10 and $12, especially for fruit wines and native hybrids like Niagara and Concord. The overall quality of the wines, particularly the dry, were not very good at all. The reds were thin and unexciting. Once our flights were handed over, the server ignored us and spent the rest of our visit loudly chit-chatting with friends at the next table.

Had an awesome time with Susan. She was really nice and she explained to us how the red wines and white wines have specific types of glasses that you are supposed to enjoyed them from. It's crazy because you can really taste the difference if you drink a white wine from a glass that a red wine and vice versa. If you drink wine from the incorrect type of glass it can turn you off from the wine. I learn something new every Winery I go to. Their wines are really delicious and I look forward to going back.

Here recently I have purchased two different bottles of wine with a friend the flavors gobbly wobbler red and white the red had foil bits in the bottom of the bottle and the white smelled and tasted like kerosene this is the worst experience that I have ever have with wine before. Both where purchased at giant in easton these wines need to be recalled.

I had the best time today at St. Michael's Winery. Abby and Whitney were so gracious, kind, and so much fun! They made my visit the most enjoyable one and the wine was FABULOUS! I will definitely be back to visit!

The Lyon Rum shop is a fun visit all by itself, and any bottle of rum you get there will surely be special on your shelf. It's a must visit & buy if you are in or passing through St. Michaels.

The presentation and customer service were both excellent HOWEVER, I can't say that the rum flight are good. Unfortunately it tastes medicinal to me! I've tried 2 so far and can't say that they're for me. Clearly you have a wonderful following and all the best to your company

The dark rum is not a mixer. It stands true all on it's own. Perfect with a Maduro cigar or an after dinner drink.

My first try of Lyon rum I didn't care for it, and I told them so. They were so gracious and offered refund, which I did not accept. I also admitted to being new to "real" rum, having stuck to the mass marketed spice variety, and maybe needed to get a taste for it. After some suggestions and experimenting: I LOVE it! Use it for old fashioned in lieu of bourbon, or mix with a mild 80 proof bourbon like Rebel in an old fashioned. My personal creation: Lyon dark rum, wild cherry brandy, and ginger beer. Garnish with cocktail cherry. This is very good!

We had an amazing experience here! The dark rum is exquisite! They have some fruity rum flavors which are interesting. The staff was very friendly. We will visit again when in town :)

As we walked into the tasting room, we were greeted by several friendly staff members who asked us if we wanted some samples. Tried many different types of spirits (Gin, Rum, Agave, etc). All were excellent. We purchased a bottle of the Gin and a bottle of their Rum that had some added caramel (both very tasty). I heard about the tours ahead of time, so we made sure we were there for that. What a great detailed informative tour. Would highly recommend arriving around a time that you could take the tour (I believe they are at 2pm and 4pm).

If you are wandering around town then you have to stop at the Lyon Distillery. I am not even a rum fan but I walked out with a bottle of dark rum and ginger beer. Their coffee liqueur is amazing. Best of all they do a free tasting so you can have an entertaining stop and try some new tastes. It was about $35 for a bottle of the dark rum.

Got a flight of rum at the Ocean Pines farmer's market. Didn't get a chance to try it out for several weeks, but when I did...WOW! I never expected to drink rum straight up and enjoy it so much. The dark rum has a great flavor with an almost black licorice finish. The Rock and Rum was also pretty awesome...sweet with a great flavor. Whiskey drinkers will appreciate Sailor's Reserve. Wound up ordering a flight for a friend and a bottle of Dark Rum for myself. They delivered my order to me and even accommodated delivering it a day early so that I could have it to take the flight when visiting my friend. Putting the Rock and Rum on my Christmas list. Great products and excellent service! Was very happy to see at least one liquor store carry their products. Definitely recommend giving their rums a "shot" (but sip it to savor the flavor)!

If you want to experience authentic, hand crafted spirits, look no further!! From the moment you walk up to the old factory where Windon Distilling is located you see the love and care that goes into everything about their spirits. The attention to detail in their bottling shows through into the distillery. I personally wear Windon Distilling apparel everyday, just because it's a great logo and such comfortable, cute clothing. I always buy a bottle of one of their many spirits for holiday or birthday gifts, always a great hit and a conversational piece for any occasion. I can not tell you how over the moon I was to find out they are now distributing in CT,NY,NJ and PA. Especially in the crazy world we live in today, I was sad to think I couldn't make my occasional drive to Maryland to stock up on my favorite booze! You will always be greeted with a smile from the owner, Jaime and her staff who has been with her since day one. That in itself shows how much they care for the product they are putting out. I shouldn't be saying this because it is always rare to find and only sold in Maryland but their Coconut rum is outstanding! Candy is a glass, gorgeous. But also to name some other favorites, Rock and Rum is a fun twist to a cocktail all in one bottle. And never to be out shown their Coffee Rum is always a staple in my house.

I just recieved a sampler pack my husband bought for me. One of your employees drove from the eastern shore to Mechanicsville MD. To deliver it. So far above and beyond as that is a drive of several hours. I tried the rums and ALL of them are SO SMOOTH. I especially love the coconut and coffee rums, and plan to order larger bottles of those soon. The persoanlized card in the box was the epitome of great customer appreciation! 10 STARS!

What a treat it was to visit the inside of the lighthouse! It was a self-guided tour with lots of history. I've always admired it from the outside, and it was great seeing it and imagining living in it as a lighthouse keeper on the inside.

An interesting piece of American history.

This lighthouse has quite an unique history which our museum guide shared with us. It was moved here years ago and inside furnitures and rooms have been preserved as best as possible. View of the bay was really nice, nice and windy.

This is a beautiful restoration of a Light House. Worth the stop to see.

We were there for Sea Glass festival and had a good time. Grandson was able to climb the lighthouse. I have to call out singer Anna Burgess, who was performing in the morning and was marvelous. My wife, daughter, and the grandkids must have visited every vendor booth twice on a cool, clear Sunday after severe storms Saturday.

Was very disappointed with Eastern Shore. We have visited this brewery multiple times over the last 5 years and it just gets worse each time. The bartender is either drunk or hungover, the beer has not really changed in variety and the taste has gone down. The flight offering is disappointing as you can only get the preselected items and the place itself seems run down. The nicest part is the bathroom.

4 because the flights were chosen for you. I would have preferred to choose my own flight so i could get a better selection. After about the third beer they were sorta the same. The Punchy Kettle Sour I had to buy separate was the best.

The beer was okay. Wasn't what I was hoping it would be. The service was great, bartender was very friendly. The overall spot was nice. Quiet for a Friday afternoon. Would maybe try something else some time.

Small place but great beers! They had 3 browns on tap. A decent selection of IPAs and Lagers. The coffee Porter is pretty good...not as rich as you might expect.

Had a great time at Eastern Shore Brewing. This is exactly the type of place I like to sit and enjoy a few beers. Jay the bartender was friendly and enjoyable to talk to. The beers were all pretty good. I was a little surprised at the higher price of some of the more "specialty beers", but their standard brews which I assume re always on tap were priced pretty reasonable. Highly recommended, would definitely go back

Very friendly staff, awesome beer. I got a flight and my wife got a pint of back creek blonde. I enjoyed every beer in the flight. The atmosphere is great, we had fun playing shuffleboard. Didn't use the bathroom but the place is great so I'm sure it's fine. Cant wait to come back.

Friendly staff, tasty beers and great outdoor spaces to chill (indoors too when it’s too cold out). The Coffee milk stout was great - smooth and creamy and just right amount of coffee smell/taste. The Situation IPA had great pine notes and not overly hoppy.

A small, but very well curated museum telling the story of St Michaels with lots of artifacts. The volunteer docent who was there when we visited really knew the history and did a great job interpreting the exhibits.

A wealth of historic knowledge and artifacts provided by enthusiastic volunteers. A unique and exceptionally well-curated collection for historians of all experience levels. I recommend a visit to all residents and visitors!

Really nice small town Eastern Shore museum.

Great museum with lots to see and learn. Gorgeous campus, world class shipwrights, wonderful assortment of events and learning opportunities for the whole family. My kids are learning how to build boats! A huge asset to the St. Michaels and Talbot County community.

It was not what I was expecting. I thought homes would have been more decorative. Tour was more about history of homes and owners. I was just looking for decorations. Nice but just not what I was looking for.

$3 admission. Good local history about the town and its prominent families. Good Frederick Douglass history that is relevant to St. Michael's. Great value for what is here.

We drove to St Michaels to do some antiquing.. Well this time of year I wouldn't do that again as this little shop was the only one open. But they have a nice selection of different collectibles. It's a quaintly, cute place just like the town. We enjoyed poking around the shop & strolling down main Street.
