I was completely blown away by the beauty and the history of this mission. What also impressed me is that the facility still plays an active role in serving their community, gardening for their food pantry. Missions have a complicated history with the indigenous peoples of the Americas but I noticed that there was special attention taken to acknowledge the sacredness of their culture as well as the Catholic faith. Another interesting part of the mission what the generous donation given by a local Jewish couple to restore some of the artwork. There’s a definite feeling of community beyond one set religion and it provided a welcoming environment for all. Oh, and it’s absolutely beautiful was well. A must see.

Always a great place to visit. Audio tour free with admission. Easy to use device. I've been visiting for probably 50 years and I learned a lot of new info by using the audio tour. New exhibits since the last time I visited. Cute area around mission also with shops and places to eat.

Stunning historial site to visit and book for photo sessions as well ($50-80 per hour). The grounds are meticulously kept, and the staff is friendly and helpful. Highly recommended! The surrounding Los Rios neighborhood and restaurants are worth visiting, too.

Beautiful well kept grounds and gardens to wander as you enjoy the mission. Some ruins among other areas which have been restored. Plenty of history to these grounds…enjoy!

We drove up from San Diego for the day and visited the mission. We were able to find free parking on the street, paid our $18 per person entrance fee, and walked around the grounds. It's beautiful, especially on a sunny day. Lots of beautiful photo spots. We chose not to take the free audio devices - we just followed the map and strolled around for about an hour. There are multiple restrooms inside and a gift shop. They were removing the Christmas decorations the day we visited (January 2), so if you want to see it decorated, go before the New Year.

Beautiful place to visit for some history. I love the audio option as you walk through the mission. The garden area is beautiful and such an awesome scenery to take it. The church is amazing and there’s plenty to see when coming here

Was recommended to visit, so I took a trip. I don't think they have a designated parking lot, but the street parking wasn't far, so it was okay. The weather was great, and inside the mansion was pretty enough to visit more than a time. (I got the yearly membership, which was less than two visit's price, and they gave me free fish food, so that my kids can enjoy feeding the bit coy fishes, in two different ponds). I recommend the membership, if you go there! I will definitely go there next time! The town, garden, inside gallery, and historical museums are worth visit.

May just might be the ultimate month to visit. It was not hot or cold and there were millions of things in bloom. As far as the eye could see, there was delight, architecture, butterflies, children, brides and grooms families, beauty. Parking was very challenging, especially with a special needs child and an elder. Plan ahead and find parking before you visit this town. If your elder is not able to walk much, there are benches everywhere. But if it's a hot day, bring an umbrella for shade for this elder. There was people of all ages enjoying this historical site. The staff were fantastic and knowledgeable and very protective of the mission, not even letting the children put their fingers in the koi pond. We appreciate it. This level of commitment. The gift shop is gorgeous and full of wonderful things to bring back to friends and family. The town is full of restaurants but get a reservation ahead of time to save on dragging elders and little children around when they're fatigued. We noticed the street parking was for 5 hours which is probably enough for a family to scout around the mission, which is way too much for little children to take in in one day, but plenty of things to fascinate them at the same time. There is an art gallery inside, there's the soldiers barracks which kids love, there's an active Catholic chapel which deserves quiet, respect and modest clothing, there are the gardens and the ruins and the list goes on. Can't say enough good about this wonderful historical spot. Be sure to get your digital tour that you hang around your neck and listen to as it's very informative and not burden some in terms of length of listening which worked well for the children. Happy family memories are made at San Juan Capistrano.

I recently visited Mission San Juan Capistrano and I have to say, it was a truly magical experience. This landmark is a true gem, with so many amazing things to see and do. The chapel is absolutely stunning and I was in awe of the beautiful artwork and architecture. The museum was also fascinating, with so much history to learn about. And the gardens were simply breathtaking, with so many vibrant colors and beautiful flowers. I highly recommend visiting Mission San Juan Capistrano if you get the chance – it's a must-see destination for anyone who loves history, art, or nature.

What a beautiful setting full of History and a great testament to the early Missionaries. There is the new and preservation of the old. Very dedicated personal work at the Mission San Juan Capistrano location. They explain the past very well. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Nice shopping also nearby. Easy access via the train from Los Angeles or San Diego Amtrak or Metro Link.

Beautiful historic site which is explains the history of the Mission in Orange County. Has a beautiful chapel inside. Free audio guide included with admission. Has several exhibitions on different things: treasures, the mission’s operations history, different historic living quarters, etc. there is a gift shop as well that sells various religious things. While the site mentions the Native Americans who built the place, not much else is discussed about them, which is kind of annoying. I wish they would have included more recent scholarships on how the arrival of the Mission from Europe and other places affected the local Native American populations, both the positive and the negative. I also wish they dedicate a section/two of the place for the Native Americans who built this place. Aside from that they have a room on St. Junipero Serra which contains historical info about his life and ministries.

What a wonderful place to spend a few hours enjoying a historical sight. The entire site is beautiful with a fascinating array of plants. I felt like I went back in time and could easily imagine those who built and invested their lives in Mission San Juan Capistrano. The audio commentary is excellent and simple to use. This is a great take to take the family to take the family, and it's easy to spend at least a couple of hours experiencing a piece of California history. This location is famous for the annual return of the swallows on the celebration of St. Joseph on March 19. Buying tickets in advance is convenient, but if you are active duty military or a veteran, I advise buying tickets in person so you can take advantage of the $1 discount on tickets. Adults are normally $18 for admission as of the time of this review and $10 for youth (5-17). If you are military (active duty or veteran), visiting on certain holidays is free such as Memorial Day, Veterans Day, etc. There are also events such as concerts and civic celebrations that occur all year, so if you are a local to Southern California I would consider getting a membership as you can visit all year for free, and the passes are not linked to an individual, so if you have family or friends visiting, you can have them use the passes as well. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, and your admission includes an audio tour that consists of a hand set that has recorded descriptions and backgrounds of various locations on the mission grounds. The two large fountains also have koi and smaller guppies. The chapel on the mission grounds is very beautiful for a small worship space, and it is amazing how much history is here. The gift shop is located at the exit and has many religious articles for sale as well as general souvenirs. Definitely recommended as a place to visit and experience, especially with the family. My 8 year old normally isn't interested about historical locations but thoroughly enjoyed listening to the audio tour descriptions and feeding the koi. Not many places can do that, and any place that does is special.

Quiet and peaceful visit. Audio tour is rich in historical detail. So much to see, plan for at least 1 hour. If you have time, the visit could be 2-3 hours if you really take your time and take it all in. The chapel is amazing.

The best preserved mission we have visited! Such a wealth of information. Plan on spending at least two hours here during your visit to Old San Juan Capistrano. Tons of elementary students here during the week, so plan accordingly. Plenty of parking in the two lots nearby.

Such a beautiful historic site. You can get the audio tour *easy to use* , the history is so rich. The cathedral is very serene. We saw many photographers taking pictures of couples for special occasions, makes for a great background.

Wonderful place to visit and well worth the entrance fee. We spent over an hour exploring the grounds and buildings, and enjoyed the audio tour on our visit, learning about the mission and its people. It was a soggy day when we visited and they kindly provide umbrellas so you can still tour the outside areas.

Came to watch the festivities on Swallows day. Rich in History. The volunteers and people were really nice. The grounds are in good shape. All kinds of friendly, nice people. Hope to be back next year

Visited on St. Joseph's day. This is the day the swallows return to Capistrano. It was also the first day of spring. Program for today included mariachi, school kids, storytellers and more. Beautiful temperate day. Plenty to look at, spring flowers in bloom. In spite of this being one of the busiest days at this mission, there were still places to find a quiet place to reflect. I spotted other artists besides myself, painting on-site. Visited by tourists and locals alike.

If you want to support the conservation efforts of California's rich history, this would be a great stop. I didn't know that there are several of them across the state. This was a lovely stop during our staycation. They did a phenomenal job with the restoration. It's a good source of education for all of us. I loved seeing the kids do their video reports explaining what they have learned during their visit. I also like the garden and how peaceful it is. They give discounts to Active Duty and Veterans.

Beautiful, historic mission. The grounds were lovely, and the various displays and rooms were interesting. Items were labeled and the purposes were explained well. The selection of art was stunning! Nice gift shop with a good selection of sacred and secular items.

Pros: Amazing access to the animals; you get to be right up close to them to feed (the basket of food to feed them is $6) and pet them, it’s awesome. Pony’s weren’t out that day. Roosters roam free on the walkways. Workers are super nice and attentive, hand washing station is great. My son loved the mini tractors to ride (an extra $5 to ride), the playground is fun but gets hot without any shade over it. The great thing is everything else has really good shade. Cons: Hard to access around the construction. Park at the park next door and then walk over, the entrance is to the left of the cafe. This place is actually expensive for what it is, you pay extra for EVERYTHING. Everything. Cool looking stuff like: tractor ride (+$5), excavator ride (+$3) and difficult to figure out before the ride times you out and turns off, animal feed (+$6), the list of extra costs goes on. The only thing really included in your entry cost is petting the animals and going on the playground, which makes this a pretty expensive petting zoo.

Super clean and well maintained, just starting to get a bit expensive. Probably one thing they could add is having someone do a little education every 30 minutes and maybe someone walking around with other animals. I’ve been coming here for years (10+) it has come a long way. Would love to see another location but even bigger as they do a great job, rotate animals, and keep it clean.

Great, calm and clean ranch. Attentive and friendly staff. We liked it and enjoyed it so much! $35 One adult, and one kid. You have the right to pet animals. Pony ride $8 (one lap) with Mr. Gerardo, a kind and nice person: was amazing! He guided my son beautifully. I really appreciated his attitude 🙂 The place has different kind of activities to do. There is a Playground too!

Zoomars is a fun place for littles. Unfortunately most things once you pay admission cost extra - train, tractor, excavator, feed baskets, mining. Unfortunately right now there is A LOT of construction happening right next door. So there are no ponies or horses to ride. We bought a Ranch Card $150 (family of 6) which included 10 entries and 5 of each of the activities. We blazed through it all in less than 2 hours. Be sure you sign the waiver before you arrive or it will take you an extra 15 minutes to get in. Also, you can no longer handle the guinea pigs. Only pet and feed them. My son did have a good time and that's what matters to me. Just wanted others to be prepared.

Super fun. You can pet the Guinea pigs! Great place to bring kids, or unleash the kid in you. Also, nothing working with just disconnecting and reflecting while petting a tiny, hairy piggy!

Just came to share that the staff were incredibly kind and thoughtful during our visit with four kids between ages of 9 and 5. We stayed for 3 hours, and even though this place is not cheap, it seems like a good value for the clean and welcoming atmosphere. It's nice to be able to spend as much time as you like with the animals, in addition to the paid activities. Even on stuff like the gold panning & excavators that do have an additional fee, the staff are really nice about not rushing you through and making sure the kids have a great experience. Also, if you have never been to this area before, plan on a little bit of time to walk around the town center. We ended up parking in the garage there as well for $3 an hour.

I wanted to like this place, but it just didn’t offer enough. There were an incredibly small selection of animals. The site isn’t the biggest, but do believe they could have done a heap better. Okay at $15 an adult it’s not super expensive, but offerings are poor and a few extra things they offer like pony rides around a very small area just aren’t worth it.

It's OK for 1 time only. It's $15 for adults, $12 for kids over 18 months (1.5 yrs). Edit: not sure where rest of my review went, but basically its just a small place with a few animals and the rest of the area is all rides for bigger kids like 6 and up. For a name "zoomars" i was thinking the animal farm area was larger with cows, sheeps, etc but its not like that. Although they do have Llama's which is cool.

Pretty expensive for what it is but a great way for kids to learn about animals in a healthy environment. I like the idea of it, I think it's great this family ranch, but all admission gets you is entry to view the animals. To feed them you have to buy a basket for $6. To ride the tractor or excavator it's $5. Panning starts at $10. It's fun for a once in a while or one time thing to do. Everyone was kind and the kiddo enjoyed it. The animals were healthy and happy. The food was raw vegetables not seeds or something less than nutritious so it's a better experience for kids to learn about animals. The llamas were adorable! I think what they are doing is great but for me it was spendy for an hour of fun.

My 2 year old grandson comes here often. We visited from Vancouver BC. I baught him a guinea pig stuffie which he absolutely loves. Just watch those goats when feeding them. One bit my grandsons finger a bit too hard. Not the animals fault.

They had some difficulty with the system at purchase but the staff was very accommodating and helpful l. In particular Samantha was very helpful with the rides we went on. We went just after lunch. We walked down from the train station that's right there. We had a great time and will be back.

If you've got kiddos, this place is a must! Such a fun experience with my little ones. Capturing memories = priceless! This place is truly such a gem and I'm so glad we discovered it. Will certainly be coming back with my boys! Staff was also very friendly which is always a plus.

Fun place for small children or adults who love farm animals. It’s not very big, but is very interactive!

Although the kids have a great time here so we do keep coming back, the prices to just walk in (with nothing to do) is outrageous. Then you have to buy baskets of vegis to feed animals, train ride, gem mining, pony rides, excavators and tractor tickets on top of it all. The strange part is since adults don’t have anything to do here is that adult entrance fees are even higher than a kids. I think they should lower the initial entrance fee which only allows you to walk and see pics and goats and play in a playground which you could do at park for free next door

This was a fun venue in a very unlikely area. Would have never found it if not for the concert we were going to. Besides a great concert the food was ok and very expensive, The service was great, just wish we would have eaten beforehand. Easily $40+ per person for the food and a drink. Would love to go back and just grab a drink while watching the concert.

Coach house has been around a long time but still has that funky vibe. Long picnic style seats with mandatory food order. The acoustics aren't great but you are close to the band and everyone joins in.

This place was a unique venue. I liked the small ,intimate size of the bar and the layout. Semi-private booths, private rooms and general seating "family style" were all options here. Service was excellent, bands great, and company couldn't be better. Smoking out on patio area and restrooms clean and orderly.i liked the feel of the place. Food was ok. Drinks were excellent.

Fricking awesome! Haven't been there in 43 years since the first time seening BB King! The Fabulous Thunderbirds were great! Also saw Slim Freaky. They opened for the Fabulous Thunderbirds.

Great place for a show. Food and drinks are overpriced but otherwise a neat venue and you can see the stage from anywhere. Wonderful acoustics

1st time going to the Coach House to see Queen Nation!! Absolutely loved everything about this place!!!! It was quaint and there wasn't a bad seat in the house! The food and drinks were delicious, little over priced, but good! It was just a great place to see a concert! I highly recommend it, you will not be disappointed. A+

I have been here several times to see concerts and really not a bad seat in this small venue. I always enjoy live music, but I will mention the markup on the food and alcohol is a bit much. To be fair, it is at most places these days. A 15 dollar bottle of wine was 50. Most apps were either close to 20 or more. We spent about 200 for 2 steak dinners and a bottle of wine, which is fine if you are at a nice restaurant. You are packed in like sardines on long shared tables that are maybe 2 ft wide and people sitting across from you in that space. If you don't mind crowds and cramped spaces and are a live music fan it's fine. Always enjoy the shows here, just a little too cramped for my taste.

great venue. If possible try to get a booth, it is more intimate than sitting out on the main floor. the food is good the beers are too. a little on the expensive side but worth it if you enjoy live music.

This place is an awesome overly large “little joint” for maybe four hundred of your closest old friends. The shows are Always excellent and the value is on point. Sometime original oldies but mostly cover bands. I saw an excellent Tina Turner Review with a curtain call. Both meals, filet and were a bit dry but tasty.

A classic. Pretty much anyone who is anyone has performed here. Service is great, especially if you want to add dinner to the show. Staff are extra friendly and helpful. Due to the layout of the venue, there isn't a bad seat in the house. It's more than worth the travel from out of state! Below are photos of Y&T and John Waite.

Have been there twice and it’s a great spot for live music. Service is very good. I’ve not tried the food which admittedly looks pretty good. I don’t like the family banquet style seating and so sit at the bar which provides good views of the stage. Bottles of 12 oz beer start at $10 each which I consider a ripoff.

Ticket prices are reasonable, food is expensive and OK, so if you look at it as a package, it is worth it. Service was on point. Martha Davis was awesome, especially for 73. Great show!

Great venue. Staff is freaking fantastic! Love coming here, but the food prices are crazy. I know things have gone up, but some of its way to much.

Classic O.C. Venue that provides a truly intimate concert experience with many legendary performers and future icons perform.

It's gotten a little run down, but still a fantastic small venue that attracts great musicians. The food is good, though the menu is a bit limited. But you go there for the music, which is first-rate.

I can't say "Thank You" enough to the great staff at Casper's. My patient had the best time, ad did I. We were met with friendly and helpful staff who enlightened us about the park history and wildlife inhabitants.

Beautiful camping park that has electrical hook ups for RV's, tent camping with fire rings and BBQ grills, day use area for a picnic or hike, a nature center with observation deck, beautiful wildlife and a playground for the kids. I will share that this is a dry camp location right now as they have NO WATER THROUGHOUT THE PARK! NO DOGS PERMITTED so leave them at home. This is a County facility so your State pass will not work here. Wildlife include Rattlesnakes, Mule Deer, Mountain Lions, Coyote, Bobcat, different birds, insects, and many more. Keep aware of your surroundings and notify the Park Ranger if you require assistance.

Great campground but water is not always available. Bring your own water. No pets allowed. No ebikes

Site #12. 2nd time at this OC County Park. Drought has caused closure of restrooms and showers, but relatively clean Porta-Potties with hand wash stations are scattered around. Very friendly Rangers stopped by to chat and made us feel welcomed. Miles of hiking trails with great views of the surrounding hills. We didn't get to visit the Nature Center, but will next time. We will be coming back to this Park again.

Ranger was very friendly. It cost us $3 for the day. We drove through and walked around taking in the sites. The gift shop/info center does close early. There is a campground. Beware of snakes.

Beautiful park, very simple and interesting chaparral trails. There is still a lot of water this year, so bear in mind that you have to ford a river about 10 inches deep when going from one side of the valley to the other. Parking is very easy, drive to the end of the paved road. Fee is payable at the entrance.

Part of the OC Parks system, it's a wonderful place for camping or just day use. There are hiking trails, a playground, portable bathrooms (the real ones are perpetually broken), and a nature center. The grounds are very well maintained, and the hiking trails are magnificent. I've been here a few different times with the YMCA Adventure Guides program. Update: the Juaneño Trail was closed as of fall '23.

Stayed in space 9 of the Ortega Flats Campground for two nights in May 2023. This was our first time staying here. Ortega Flats is the only camping area at Caspers with any utility hook-ups. The campground was clean, space 9 was large and had a lot of shade. Water was not turned on and there is no septic hook-up at all so all we had was an electric hook-up. They do have a dump station by the front gate. Ortega Flats Campground is right next to Ortega Highway and there was some road noise during the day but it was quiet at night. Caspers Wilderness Park is huge - we drove to explore the other areas. There are other camping areas further from the road that don't have any utility hook-ups. The area is very pretty. We had a good time - I'd stay here again.

It is beautiful place. Sadly, no one around to enforce the night time noise. Twice now people up making noise past 11 pm. Not a place to get away from city noise, they just bring it with them.

Amazing campground. Stayed at Ortega flats campsite 13 and we had a blast . We will be back asap! Please put a sign on the nature center if your not going to open please kids were disappointed but we still had a blast

A very nice park with a lot of wildlife (squirrels, birds, rabbits). Had a wonderful 2 night stay, but for some reason the water is off. A great value spot in OC that’s right down the road from San Juan Capistrano and Mission Viejo. 25-30 min from the coast, but the temps were very pleasant.

Great hiking trails. I recommend the Juaneno Trail. It's an easy 2.68 mile one way trail and you see amazing bluff cliffs to your left and so much cactus! I've never been on a trail with so much cactus. It was like a cactus wonderland. If you decide to hike on the Badger Pass Trail, there is no shade and it is very steep. I think it's worth it though for the views you get. They also have a wonderful Nature Center and a few souvenirs for purchase. $3.00 for a day use pass. I went during a weekday and only saw three people on the trail. Bring lots of water as it gets hot in this park not just during the summer months. Enjoy!

This was my first experience at a Basilica and it is such a beautiful experience. I love the golden backdrop and the statue of Saint Raphael, the baptism area is really set up well and I suggest after mass to so the 40 minute tour or the church

The San Juan Capistrano Basilica is a stunning place. The Mass was well-organized, and there are ample pews for seating. However, parking can be a bit of a challenge since it tends to fill up rapidly, so you might have to resort to street parking if you arrive late.

We came to check out the mission and saw this building from outside was beautiful, and to our amazement, the inside is even better and just feels powerful and peaceful, to say the least. Kinda speechless when we stumbled upon inside. It's free to enter, by the way. Please di yourself a favor and drop in if you are nearby!

Near the Mission, on the corner. The patio dining area is very nice, the staff are excellent and the food is traffic. Prices are in line for the area. Presentation is good and the menu selection is just right. Fantastic deserts.

The actual Mission was not open (they are closed Mondays) so we had to find other attractions to fill out sight seeing calendar and we are glad we visited this church. I must say I am blown away by the opulence and attention to detail on display here! The only thing that would have made it better would be a guide to name and explain the works of art and paintings. “Steve Says” well worth the price of admission - which is free.

We love this place and the entire area around it! Thought we'd spend a couple of hours there and ended up spending the day! Plenty to see, multiple places to eat, and the history is exceptional!

These photos are from years ago when I was involved in some remediation work there at San Juan Capistrano. It was really nice being there when it was closed and I had the run of the place. A beautiful experience. I highly recommend it.

So, I purchased a ticket for the History Walk yesterday and the guide was a no-show. The gentleman at the ticket booth tried calling, and I walked over to the history center--which was closed. I'd still like to go. May I please have my donation applied to a future History Walk?

What a wonderful gem of local history. The Halloween ghost tour was so much fun. I look forward to the Christmas celebration there. The docents and volunteers really care and are excited about what they do.

I always love going to this historical society. People are actually here most of the day and are helpful and open.

Very interesting library, unlike anything I’ve seen before. Each row of books was kind of sectioned off and there was a whole area for children and teens. I stopped by the bookstore part and got a book for $2, it was organized and most were about this price.

Layout is interesting with compartmentalized sections. Nice outdoor space. Nice kids area.

Beautiful city to go visit. Visit the mission church very old church one of the top ten world famous church still standing. They have tours and talk about the pieces of building still standing and also talk about the past history of the church very beautiful scenery and cool weather out there 😊💯💯

Well-stocked and welcoming library, with a lovely area for little kids and a great selection of books for their older siblings.

I'd never experienced claustrophobia before in my life until visiting this building. The interior is full of tall square columns set close together. I usually kind of like small spaces, but the height, closeness, maze-like layout, and stale air had me rushing for the exit after 20 minutes.

Very strange interior and exterior. Does not blend in with local architecture. Homeless and druggies hang out inside the little hiding holes. The staff does their best to police, but you have to be careful.

Beautiful facility with lots of space for people to discuss their favorite stories or read in solidarity, the staff is very helpful and friendly. Excellent place to find new subjects to learn about

I love this library I go to it every week. it has a really comfortable and cozy vibe. Great for reading and doing homework. Love the staff super nice!

Very cool, historic, and charming area in San Juan Capistrano. Really enjoyed walking around and checking out some of the shops. It was quite crowded when I was there, but still, I was able to walk into shops and check out the area.

Step back in history. The entire neighborhood is on the National Register of Historic Places. Roam the area featuring homes still occupied by historic families who populated the town of San Juan Capistrano just across from the mission. Such a cute, charming artsy area packed full of history! It’s a fairly small district, but there is a wonderful and eclectic assortment of small shops, coffee/tea establishments , etc. to warrant half a day's stop here. It is a great place to stop by if you are in the area for the Mission San Juan Capistrano, and best of all there is free parking in the adjacent area (next to the playground).

Plenty of shops to see and places to eat. Its laid back and you can feel the rustic ambience. Its small but feels cozy.

We had such a great time here! Most of the shops were closed but the walk was sensational and relaxing. Many things to see and endless photo opportunities! They have restrooms and restaurants kn premises. Nice place to take loved ones and friends!

Nice and clean place. Church is must visit and the railway station. The railway do not operate between Monday and Friday. Look out for the free parking.

We went on a Saturday morning, and this was just "meh." There wasn't much to see, basically a bunch of small gift shops selling the same items you can buy in any other gift shop. I can only describe the "ranch" as a typical tourist trap. Bottom line: we weren't impressed. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way unless you're already in SJC to visit the Mission and have a few minutes to kill.

Parking here to get to Mission San Juan Capistrano was pleasantly swell. Sometimes there's events at the mission like weddings so parking can be trough around there. Cool trail comes back from the other side of the tracks. There's a playground and a winnery look picnic area of type. Iit was a cool experience to go thru you really take in the hills and the stretch of railroad leading into the horizon. Something smells really good on one of the trains I think it was the red one.

This place is cool. They have alot of old stuff, but it's all pretty pricey. However you can find good deals. I found a film camera from the 70's for $30, it's retail value is a few hundred.

I love in this mall, history for sale, old black and white photos, old coins etc... Incredible collectables, prices were reasonable.

I’ve had a lot of great experiences at this place. However, today was a little bit of a negative experience. I recently bought a geiger counter (detects radiation levels) and decided that I would bring it in hopes of finding something radioactive. Well I did! I found a plate made with uranium glaze, but the glaze was chipped. My geiger counter read over 700 CPM, which is obviously not very safe (for reference, normal background radiation around here ranges from 15-35 CPM). Anyways, I decided to let an employee know and suggested that the store put some kind of warning on the plate. It’s the right thing to do and I wouldn’t want anyone who was unaware to eat on it on a daily basis. The employee had a very negative attitude towards me and seemed very irritated about the fact that I brought it up. She claimed that anyone buying the plate would have been already aware of its state because of the color of the glaze and said that it was still in a completely safe level of radiation. However, she doesn’t know that someone who is unaware isn’t going to buy the plate. I find it appalling that the store can’t just put a simple warning for people who don’t know. Someone could be put at a risk for cancer if they used that plate on a normal basis. I wouldn’t suggest buying any colorful plates here because you don’t know if they could be dangerous. I’ll include a picture of one of the lower levels of reading that my geiger counter showed in micro sieverts (I forgot to take a picture of it in CPM) The lower amount that is in the picture is the same level of radiation that you would receive from two chest x-rays per hour.

I think I’m actually not going to come to this store anymore. I have spent so much money here, but I cannot stand the attitude of the staff anymore. They have 0 respect or patience for their customers. They didn’t update their hours on Google so people know they’re closing early for the Super Bowl, so as soon as I got there they announced that they’re closing at 4:45. This irritated me but whatever, no big deal, I’ll just look around super fast, I had 15 minutes, because there was a specific item I knew was there and I wanted to buy. I walked by an employee and then he told me that they’re closing in five minutes. I was confused and tried to point out that they literally just announced what time they’re closing but he just cut me off and said, no, we’re closing early. Make up your mind and don’t cut me off. I’ve had many other negative experiences with the employee’s attitudes. They seem like they look down on all of their customers and I will no longer be supporting a business that a clearly does not actually want business.

I really enjoy this antique mall, it's huge and has a wide variety of items to search through! The challenge as a customer is being able to see items that are locked in their many cases throughout the massive store...there were a lot of items that I was interested in that I couldn't purchase because no one was nearby with a key. In my opinion prices are pretty high, but they often have sales and negotiating might be available...I haven't tried! Ultimately, it's a fun shopping experience and I recommend a visit. Go when you have a lot of time, though! It takes a long time to get through the entire store.

Part of the fun (if you're getting older) is seeing the things your parents or grandparents had in their home. Housewares, toys. Great American Indian artifact as well. I go for vintage porcelain and always find things. This is a big store with many individual sellers, so you might find exactly what you are looking for. Easy parking lot close by. Walking distance to the SJC train station and charming village and restaurants.

I saw this cute shop driving by and decided to check it out. I walked around this huge antique mall. They have vendors who sell all kinds of various antique stuff. They have lots of dishes, teacups, clothing, decorations, records, blankets… Some of their items are expensive but some are more affordable. You just have to look around. I ended up buying a few nice things for myself and some gifts for my family. This is a fun place to shop. You never know what you might find here!

This is the Togo spot for antiques South of the county, for sure. There are so many things rooms to go thru but your better off going thru the main big entrance. Your gonna find really unique sellers. The atmosphere is sort of open ceiling very old building again if you walk in thru the main entrance.

I wouldn't waste your time at the Old Barn, the place is so over priced and when we asked the desk clerk about a stained shirt being sold on the floor, if she could call the vendor and maybe we could be given a 10% discount she refused to make the call and so we put the item back and walked out. The clerk on the floor had mentioned to us for us to go to the desk clerk and that she'd be more than happy to call the vendor and most likely they would agree and give you a 10% discount, it wasn't the case, the girl at the desk was just either too hyper confident or lazy to even bother thinking that instead stating "no one will notice" to customer would suffice but the stained collar WAS noticeable or I would not have been asking. It can be done, it has been done. Most Antique vendors would love to have a sale and would want to be asked if there is a question on an item re: 10% rather than lose a sale and stay holding the damaged inventory but not the Old Barn at San Juan Capistrano. We've been there other times it just hasn't been worth the drive. If you see an item you like at Antique mall but they wont lower the price check online platforms such as, ebay, etsy, etc. as you will probably find it cheaper. Remember you are the one doing the Antique Stores a favor by showing up in person as foot traffic customers as one could always make purchases instead on ebay cheaper.

Great with wonderful staff. Can’t think of a better place to shop for unusual things at fair prices. You can ask for a discount sometimes it works.

Reasonable price & friendly staff are pros. It would be nice if they improve display because it has so many different collections so it's difficult to find which items/groups are located. Once you pass the area and didn't remember the place, you would not be able to find it easily.

One of the better parks here in San Juan. Grass was very green and luscious. There was a cute little band of fiddle players, fiddling. Would come back again. Something is eating the cacti.

Cute historic park, but I felt a little unsafe walking through there alone. Perhaps it would be better visited when there is an event or activities going on there.

Love this park it's so beautiful and the festivals they host here are so fun. It's been taken over by the homeless lately though so a little unsafe for now.

Been getting out produce here for years. We absolutely loved going once a week and everyone is so nice. In that time they more than doubled their prices. It is now too expensive and we can't afford it. $6 bulb of garlic, $16lb of potatoes, $7 heads of lettuce. Really disappointed that they have alienated their lower income customers. It is the best produce around but I guess it's only for the rich now. Really a shame, because we loved supporting this place.

Wow, I am blown away by this place. I went there on a recommendation by a friend, he was spot on with what I was getting into. I took a bunch of the citrus in different flavors, not expecting much. I was mind blown that the freshness and flavor of these fruits were so on point. The staff of super friendly, and I had fun as soon as I walked in. I got the recommendation of a gentleman with a mustache and glasses on some healthy snacks, he was on point with his recommendation for his “trail cookie.” I walked around back to check it out and realized that it’s a whole event space, they probably do some really cool things here. I love the farm vibe with the freshness of produce that was picked that day if not moments ago. I would highly recommend checking this place out. It’s a little pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Honestly... Probably my favorite place to go these days. The owner at Dog Pawrk Brewing in San Juan Cap told us how amazing the bread is so we decided to try it a couple weeks back. Fast forward multiple trips later, and now we are members and go here at least once a week. We basically scrapped going to the grocery store for fruits, bread, and veggies in favor of coming here. Sometimes they have homemade pasta from Brick, and the pastries are amazing. The bread is life. Also, the people working here are so kind and helpful. Really, the only thing I'm upset about is that I've lived 5 minutes away for years and never knew about it.

Just a wholesome amazing place. They make it so you want to buy everything. The chickens look happy and the produce looks fresh.

The Ecology Center is an oasis of peace and calm in busy Orange County. I have been buying fresh organic food, gifts, and flowers here for many years. The fresh off the farm food is incredibly creative and tasty. Be prepared to slow yourself down, take a deep breath, and enjoy a few hours of eating, drinking a yummy beverage, and listening to the music of the spheres. In addition to the usual daily offerings, there are special events here beyond compare. I have enjoyed many yoga, meditation, and unique shopping experiences here, and yesterday attended the Day of the (Grateful) Dead music festival, which was fantastic! 5 stars for sure.

I came here with another organization yesterday and was very impressed. You can tell that a lot of effort and love was put into this place. There's such a large variety of native and edible plants and trees that were all over the property. One spot, you can find an apple tree and peach tree with some native sage, and another you can find an orange tree with a passionfruit vine nearby. The recently-opened Cafe had limited options during the time being, but it makes sense given that it's still winter and they cook with what they grow on site. The cauliflower soup and focaccia were very delicious and well-seasoned. The market seriously tickled my brain on how amazing everything looked. I got some soap and tomato passata. The soap smelt lovely, and the passata tasted very nice. The staff in the market are very friendly and helpful and recommended extremely delicious donuts from the laguna baking co. The prices are comparable to farmer's market prices, which tend to be on the higher end. However, after hearing how well-paid and compensated the farmers are, it's worth every penny. If you're a fan of local and sustainably-sourced food, along with ethical practices, then this is the place for you.

Absolutely LOVE the Ecology center, and especially their Eco Tots program. We had so much fun that we went twice in one week. My daughters and my nephew had so much fun they didn't want to leave. Jill made everything so interactive and fun. She walked around to all of the kids and engaged with them, taught them how to plant vegetables and flowers, made fairy wands with them, read them stories, and let their little minds wander. They got to pick and eat fruit straight from the vines, feed chickens, and learn about chicken eggs and farming. They were fully immersed in their surroundings, learning, playing, and having so much fun. We can't wait to go back!

Great place for fresh local produce! They have a huge selection of fruits, vegetables, and herbs as well as plenty of local pre-made treats like jams or ice cream. You can explore the farm and look around at their informational environment focused displays or shop at the farm store and get some great local ingredients!

Edit: Changed from 4 stars to 3. This place used to be really awesome. Apparently about 2 months ago though, the place changed ownership. Things were ok, nothing really stood out. Don't get the best feeling from the new owner. He will spend lots of time at tables that give him/the restaurant praise and try to avoid those tables that have any complaints. Original Review: I've been going here for years. I really enjoy the food and the atmosphere. There are some areas of the restaurant where you get tucked away and can sometimes be forgotten about for periods of time.

TREVOR PLEASE READ!!!!! We just visited on Sunday, Feb 14th and I am sad to say our experience was far from good. My family and I got there at 4:45 and were seated right away. However, it took our waitress about 15 mins to come over and get our drink order. We already knew what we were going to order so we went ahead and ordered drinks and dinner at the same time. The patio was not super crowded so I couldn't tell what the hold up was. Perhaps it was just our waitress (we were seated on the patio, row closest to the parking structure, table directly across from patio door). We had driven over the Ortega's that day to eat at our "favorite" restaurant so getting up and leaving wasn't an option when we drove here specifically for the fried bread pudding (PLEASE DON'T GET RID OF IT!). Unfortunately, those 15 mins should have been an indication of what our meal experience was going to be. Twenty mins after our order was placed we received two of our salads but yet no drinks, bread basket, utensils, etc. So we had to ask the young man who brought out the salads if we could have utensils. Shortly after our waitress came over with our drinks. My 4yr old and I ordered lemonade. When I got mine it seemed a little dark but, I was thirsty and took two big gulps ONLY to be surprised by the extreme tartness of something that seemed to be straight lemon juice concentrate. My child's was the same. Unfortunately, we couldn't ask anyone to change it since we hadn't seen our waitress since she dropped off the drinks. While this was happening the couple behind us was also having a hard time with service and their order. They had ordered extra veggies instead of mashed potatoes and got mashed potatoes. So they sent back the order. They had also ordered hot tea and didn't get hot water. When we finally got our meals they looked good and were good but, I had to order a bread basket and was told by the young man who drops off the food "oh, I thought someone brought one to you". He then brought one out. Meanwhile, across from us, I noticed the man looking around and around until he finally got up and went to the bar only to come back with two glasses with ice. At that same moment a couple was seated next to us. Unfortunately their stay only lasted about 15-20 mins because they didn't even get a chance to put in a drink order, no one ever came to them to ask. As for the folks behind us, they got their meals a second time but still with mashed potatoes. So again, they sent them back. By now it was already 6:20 pm and they had been there for some time before us. As we ate our dinner another waitress, who was not ours, asked my oldest son if he'd like a refill, at that time I asked her to bring me water and take back the "lemonade". Shortly after our waitress came back with more "lemonade" again that tart yucky concentrate but just dropped it off and walked away before we could say anything. A lil later another couple came in with a child and they ordered him lemonade. Their waitress let them know that they didn't have lemonade "we ran out" is what she informed them. At that point I was thrown for a loop since my waitress had brought me "LEMONADE" TWICE already. As for the folks behind us yeah they got their meal a third time but, guess what... WITH MASHED POTATOES AGAIN! They were so upset they did ask to speak with Trevor (the new owner) and although he did try to make it better for them. Really? How? These people had been there almost TWO HOURS and got some mediocre service with only a drink order completed but not without complaints. Needless to say our experience was far from good and it truly is a shame because we LOVE this place and it really is our summer hang out after a day at the beach and to have it close down because the new owner can't get his staff in line and communicating with each other would definitely be a shame. This place has the potential to be GREAT! But if the service continues like this and the food stays just okay who knows if they'll last. Trevor don't just focus on the bar and drinks. PLEASE MAKE THIS BETTER!

Beautiful park in the historic area with open space, native plants, picnic areas, and a playground. Don't miss the butterfly 🦋 garden. It works...there are Monarch Butterflies. Plenty of free parking accessible from the western edge of the park.

Beautiful park, lots families picnicking but lots of sketchy people around, especially by the bathrooms. Seems like a great place for community events since it has a stage.

I attended Goin' Native Butterfly Festival with my Deaf friends on 8/5/23. The park has a nicely paved walkway, plenty of green space, well-maintained picnic tables, and best of all is easily accessed by train as this park is right across the street from the SJC Metrolink station. The bike racks are shaped like pine cones, but are reliable.

Great park. Beautifully remodeled several years ago. We used to take the kids here whenever we went to SJC, but don’t go as frequently now due to all the homeless that hang out at this park, sleeping and urinating within view. It doesn’t feel safe, especially for my wife when she’s alone with the kids.

Great park for a picnic. Well maintained now. The renovation is very nice. Landscaping has been kept up very well and the goose poop is down to a minimum. Don't feed the wildlife here as you can be fined.

Really nice & immaculate park to hangout at as well as to take your dog to. It also has a lake in the middle of the park.

Looks brand new. It's definitely not a natural park, but it's a well-done man-made one. Lots of paths, lots of benches, plenty of water and dozens of picnic tables. Parking is decent. The walking paths wind beautifully among the trees and a man-made lake. There are two water attractions which make you feel cool just looking them. If you want to bring your blankets down for a picnic or nice rest in the park, there's plenty of green grass. I wouldn't say it's the smoothest grass I've ever walked on, but there's quite a bit of it. Safety is always a concern for me I'd like to say that I felt very secure here. It's very open to both ends of the park and there's quite a bit of traffic that goes by so that you never feel like you're in a secluded place alone. Lots of dog walkers and people walkers. Very clean and pleasant Park and small pond with a few ducks and turtles. Great picnic area with many isolated benches and tables so you can enjoy your family with modesty. Don't be disappointed if all the benches are occupied, the shady trees and grassy knolls are just fine!

Great park! They have re done everything really well. You can see lots of turtles and ducks, great for walking, and have plenty of seating areas. Really cool veterans memorial area, too.

It's such a beautiful park commemorating our fallen soldiers. It's a great spot for family or beloved canines (on leases, of course). There are plenty of amazing views for pictures, and you get to hear the sounds of the fountain in the background. The only downside I spotted was NO bathrooms available or playgrounds for kids. I'm not sure if you could fish their also. Mostly for relaxing.

Great family park with paved trails. Dog walkers, joggers, bikes, slow poke walkers. Inclines, declines, and great cardio walking exercise. Plenty of wildlife, flowers, creek views. My favorite place to walk at my own pace. One large loop starting at senior center around soccer fields going east about 1.5 miles and circling back 1.5 miles to plenty of parking stretching along side of soccer fields.

Went as part of a almost expiring pandemic gift certificate. Told multiple times no reservations needed come these dates/hours. Literally received email that morning saying they were open, come on down. Nope, a memorial was happening, private event, so we were turned away. And apparently they don't answer the phone.

This winery was recently opened and replaced the original Hamilton Oaks Winery. The venue is off of the 5 Fwy but resting against an old Orange Vineyard. The building is a historical marker and is over 100 years old. The site is quite charming and the people there are very friendly. You can taste or drink either inside or out. Their collections of reds come from their sister winery, Giracci Vineyards & Farms. They also have wine from the Cowboy winery which is adjacent to Giracci.

Well obviouly I love the play. Very peacful and relaxing. Great friendly staff. The Jumping vines Cab is awesome.

We had a nice time today tasting with Dan and thoroughly enjoyed the wine 🍷 selections!!
