Marvellous piece of Architecture. In India there many places with great architecture. This monument is worth visiting. Better to book online tickets and avoid long queue. Early morning is best time to visit less crowded and peaceful. Drinking water is available inside gate no need to carry bottles avoid plastic.

Here, you will get the image of the monument reflected on the water. However, it is a crowded spot so you have to wait for your turn to be able to position here, and quickly take your shots once you're in front as others also want to be in this prime spot.

Cherish your moment there, an iconic heritage site. No wonder it's among the wonders. Go to the site during proper day light and spend time till evening to enjoy the sunset moment. The normal entry ticket costs 50 per head, whereas to the podium it will be 150. Of course it's worth visiting and look at the artworks from close eye distance. Keep your token handy, as it is required while exit.

As expected a truly incredible experience. It was magnificent and worth hiring a guide to explore the entire area. Recommend using the restroom before entering the grounds as they are very limited there and not great. Make sure to look at the detail In the marble with all of the exotic stone inlays (by hand) in the dome.

Always a stunning place to look upon, with a mesmerizing and breathtaking view, no matter how many times you have visited. Recently, a main mausoleum ticket has been introduced, costing ₹150. For those visiting for the first time, they might consider buying the ticket, but I suggest not to. There's nothing inside worth spending an extra ₹150 for , the main entry ticket is for ₹50 (also don't buy those shoes cover outside, you can get them for free at the main mausoleum entry and you only need them for main mausoleum )

How can you not visit one of the 7 Wonders of the World?! This palace is simply amazing and beautiful. I have no words for this beautiful structure. Beyond its beauty, there is a powerful story of the history, involving family, murder, imprisonment, death, and memorial after death. Despite seeing a lot of other visitors there, it didn’t feel crowded. And once you entered inside to see the replica of the tombs, you entered in single file that seemed to move along quickly. The grounds are well maintained and beautiful and overall it was fairly clean. Getting back was a trip! Waiting for the golf cart transport with the other visitors, there was no proper order or manners-so you gotta be quick if you want a seat on the transport back!

No matter how many times you have visited this wonderful monument, every time it feels so different and so amazing and it really would be a monumental regret of your life to not have visited this monument once in your lifetime. It's like this monument has a life of its own and you too will feel it when you are near to it. No wonder why many dream of visiting this wonder everyday. I wish I get a chance to visit this beauty again!

No doubt it's one of the 7 wonders of the world. Spectacular, Beauty created with great architectural skills. Hire a guide there and you will get so much more to know. It will take around 1hour 30 minutes for a full tour with a guide. It has been created so thoughtfully ages ago that you can't imagine. The symmetry in architecture, the 2D designing giving 3D illusions, the carvings of gems and the way they glow in light, I was so amused to see all that which I didn't know earlier. I admire the beauty but more than that the architectural skills. Must visit atleast once in a lifetime..

Well managed but for the first timers, it can be tricky to take autos from the car parking as autos are only allowed till a certain point. It is best to take government run battery buses from parking to entry point. From there just a 2 minute walk and one can buy entry tickets before getting in the queue. A big racket and ruckus about shoe covers, so please buy them in advance !

Very nice maintained world heritage monument. Recommended to arrive at Taj early morning from 5:30 - 6:00 am when the queue is not there. Wheelchair are available free. Battery cars take you from the parking for a nominal fee of Rs 20/- per person.

Historical Monument of India and one of the seven wonders of the world. It is still charming though many years have passed. There is brilliance and accuracy in every portion of the monument. The area is taken care very well. The garden is Maintained well. There are plenty of visitors visiting each and every day from different places and countries. Thanks to the authorities for the timely maintenance and protection given to it.

Nice and impressive building. We couldn’t make the most of it due to the fog during the 2 days we stayed in Agra. So crowed. The access to the building from the city is a chaos. This should be considered and improved for one of the wonders of the world.

Very nice place feeling is good. Absolutely stunning and marvelous; must-see in your lifetime. Even if the journey is long for you (40 hours for me to get here from Florida) it is worthwhile getting to see this fantastic structure. I highly recommend you pay for a guided tour as it will be educational and efficient. The great photography was a bonus! Indescribable the setting and the architecture as well as the love story here. Hire a local photographer for their digital copy then you don’t have to worry about getting nice photos. They know the nice shots for you. You could get a paper copy as a choice. Go to the other side across the river as well to see from a different view. It looks different depending on the time of day.Spectacular! Great history and amazing architecture! Must see whilst visiting North India. Absolutely loved it. Although if you are non Indian tourist, you have to be careful with local tour guides and shop owners not to try to charge you few times more for services and items.

A very nice location with good vibes. It is one of the greatest locations in the world, and you should see it at some point in your lifetime. Even if the journey is long, you should consider taking a guided tour. It is an amazing structure to see. The great photography was an unexpected bonus! The location, architectural design, and the love story are incredible. You can hire a local photographer to obtain high-quality pictures. They will help you take pictures of your choice. You can also purchase a hard copy. You can look at it from another perspective by crossing the river. It is different at various times of day. It is an amazing history and an amazing structure! It is something that can be appreciated while visiting North India. It was marvelous. While it may be hard for non-Indian tourists to find local guides and shopkeepers who will not try to overcharge them for services and items, it is very worthwhile.

One of the 7 wonders of the world for a reason and that reason can only be experienced and not explained. This was my 2nd visit and once again got mesmerized by its beauty, salute to efforts put into carvings. the gems and stones used glitters in sunlight even after 400 years. Must visit place. Lived up to it's expectation as a wonder of the world. The story behind the mausoleum is very sad but demonstrated a different world. We went on the anniversary of the kings death which meant we could see extra things and this was lucky for us! Stunning!

What can I say, it's the most amazing place I have ever visited. The story behind the Taj Mahal and the craftsmanship is incredible. I went as part of a tour, I would definitely recommend getting a tour guide as they can tell you all about the history. We got there just before 8am and there were no wait times at all and this was a Saturday. There are photographers who will take your picture if you want them to but otherwise your tour guide will know all of the best spots to have them. I truly hope I get to visit again!

It's a beautiful place and a beautiful structure. The view of yamuna is amazing on the backside, properly maintained and garden view is also great. A must visit place with friends or family. Just one thing which was not okay that washrooms are not properly maintained other than that it's a great area and great place. I really enjoyed being there 👍🏻

Don't hire photographers and guides. Service not good. They'll eat your money. Instead take your own camera. Peta sweet is very famous here but again bargain. Ask rates in 3-4 shops and then buy. Of course an iconic place. Enjoy

It is just phenomenal when you look up-front...... It is even more beautiful when you look up close. The pictures can never define it's beauty. It is truly one hell of a wonder.... And we went at the golden hour .... The sunset made it look even more magnificent.... Ps: Don't visit on Friday as it remains closed on Fridays

Visited my first ‘7th Wonder of The World’ and I was absolutely blown away by how beautiful it was. We had a guide who was very knowledgeable about all aspects. There are a lot of vendors who try to sell you items which are probably not authentic. Don’t fall for the photographers too who will charge you an arm and a leg. A must see!

the one of the wonder monuments which we must visit at least once in our life. It's truly a world wonder. Try to visit at opening time , so we can avoid being too crowded and have a peaceful atmosphere.

A historical fort having incredible architecture and ambience. A vast area of fort is with Indian Defence. Better to visit the fort with a Guide who can explain the historical aspects of the fort. The entrance, ambience, Courtyards and other structures are really grand. The red stone and marbles used for construction of the fort, give a royal feeling.

Agra Fort is one of the largest forts in India. We are only allowed to explore 20% of the area. And yet, those 20% are already big enough for us to explore, which is remarkable 🤩 And yes, it's a very nice place for a photo shoot 📸 We booked a tour guide in advance, and it was worth every penny as they told us the story and history of the Agra Forts and more. Tips: Do wear comfy shoes, t-shirts, bring small towel and mineral water. Avoid visiting in the afternoon as it will be getting hot there.

We went on a weekday in the evening and it was very crowded, it take more than 20 minutes to enter completing the ticket checking. The fort is beautiful and huge. Once you enter you get to take beautiful pics, considering it's huge, people scatter quickly and we get a peaceful view but don't expect too much of peace 😂

Mugal monument with lovely architecture and garden. Huge area and every nuke and corner is filled with Sand stone and Marvel work. Garden are maintained beautifully. During winter gardens are mesmerizing. You can spend hours there but won't feel bore. Nice place for photography.

If you like walking in historical buildings or place then this is the best place for you. Very heavy work has been done on it and very beautiful flowers and leaves have been made on its walls. Because the fort of Agra is very big, so during its journey you may get very tired but you will also have a lot of fun.

One of the best fort in India. The architecture of the fort is very beautiful due to presence of red rocks. We have to walk for 40-60minutes to cover entire area inside. Security checking is there in the entrance. Carry bags are not allowed inside. Locker facility is available near to the entrance. Always preferred to go in winter or in monsoon season.

Great place to visit. Can see the mugal emperors judging court,rooms,balcony,masjid etc...Guide is needed to understand all these. If they written all the information all people can understand every place' purpose easily. There is no good food/hotel available outside the Fort.

The places is very well preserved. You might not need a guide if you read about the place beforehand and keep a map of the fort handy. Keep an umbrella if you’re visiting in summers, it gets really hot. Tickets are cheap, like ₹40 or something. Beware of Auto-rickshaw-wallas, they’ll try to trick you into paying a lot if you aren’t careful.

This is one of the biggest fort in a India about 70 acres now a days just a 20% of the fort is open for visitors. Entry fees is 35 rupee if you book online ticket. It's good if you have a guide with you he told you each and everything like a story inside there is a lots of mahal and garden if you want to visit then must carry water with you for exploring all fort min 2 hours you required. If you plan to visit this must come with family it's one of the memorable trip.

Very beautiful fort. Must visit. I prefer taking a guide every time i visit a historical place. It gives me knowledge of why the place is designed in such way or hidden places and much more history.. I would recommend the same to others. But only take government authorized guide. General charges to guide are 450 to 500 approximately or written on board sometimes.

Wow, just awesome. It's located right in front of Agra fort railway station. Auto and taxi ride are very cheap, but they will trick into booking hotels, going to good restaurants or buying pethas. They all work on commission, never fall into their trap. There are many palaces in the fort, you will surely enjoy it.

An absolute must visit, you can walk around all day and enjoy the different sights. Unique architecture, lots of details and so much to see. I recommend really taking your time here and investigating every corner. There are plenty of great picture opportunities as well. Play with the squirrels as well!

The red fort of Agra is just amazing as it was shown in movies. The story of Red fort will just kept you bound. The beauty of this monument is mesmerizing. The fort is so big, it is divided in to multiple sections according to the kings name. Every little corner is actually designed so calculatively. If you see a single pillar, then also you will feel the art and work they have done over here. If you are visiting it, then you should go for guide also. They will tell you the details of every single corner. It was an amazing experience.

Thankfully it has been well preserved. Unfortunately, there are no signs to direct movement of visitors. The information boards are very brief and lack details. It would be beneficial if historical information of each structure/building is displayed.

Best place to see in Agra. Exterior is impressive and so does the internal parts of the fort. Eighty percent of the fort area is under the control of Army rest twenty percent is open for visitors. No need to describe this place for anyone. The sheer massiveness of this place and the story attached with it is enough to make you visit this place. It's a wonder how people with no modern technology built such huge forts and it's still standing. The fort is open everyday. You can visit the fort at any time. The fort opens at 6 in the morning. You can buy an online ticket before hand if you like. But this place doesn't get that crowded so you can choose to opt for buying tickets at the counter also. It's rs 50 per person for Indians. If you want to know about the place in detail you can opt for guides. But bargain with them as the rates can be very steep at times. Being there makes you think about the historic events that have happened there.

Very beautiful. I have visited on Friday and the rush was less. Easily you can spend 1-2 hrs exploring the entire fort. Some of the part of the fort are under maintenance which were closed. Entry fee for Indians is 50 and foreigner is 650.

One of the famous tourist attractions of Agra, The Agra Fort is a masterpiece of its own. Made up of red stone, this place is huge. This was a cool experience and really neat to hear the stories around the fort. For not much you can hire a guide to walk you through the full experience of it. It’s worth taking the time to fully understand all of the history and what it’s about. It was very busy the Saturday we went.

A very lesser known historical monuments in vicinity of Agra fort in the heart of Agra city. The monument is actually a tomb which is still very intact. The place is kept quite neat and clean and is very well maintained. This monument is taken care by Archaeological Survey of India, Agra circle. Hats off.

This tomb was built by Noor Jahan for her Father and Mother. It is situated at river Yamuna. This building is constructed in white marble with beautiful inlay work and surrounded by majestic landscape garden charbagh.

Short quick visit, but worth it. You can see some great symmetry, and take some. Great pictures to be taken. Pro Tip: You can take some cool pictures through the stars and the shapes on the windows, just have the person stand on the opposite side and focus your camera through the whole. Really one of the underestimated monument of agra....and if you are interested in the architecture of mughal era this monument has very good and delicate carvings(pietra dura). Must visit and observe this rich heritage

At a distance of 8 km from Agra Cantonment Railway Station and 3 km from Agra Fort, Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah is a Mughal mausoleum located on the western bank of the Yamuna River near the Yamuna Bridge Railway Station in Agra. The tomb is also known as the Jewel Box or Baby Taj as it looks like a smaller version of the Taj Mahal. It is one of the popular tourist places in agra. This historical monument is quite beautiful but sadly not maintained at all. Agra Tourism Department and ASI which charges tourist should really do some serious maintenance work. Only extremely positive point was the monument details were also put there in Braille. Only tourist spot where this was done in Agra...

Also known as Baby Taj. As the name indicates, the structure shows some iconic features of Tajmahal. The view from the 4 sides of this building is same as the front. Rear gate opens upto the river. Very calm and beautiful atmosphere. Near to Agra fort. To avoid entering with food items, strict bag checking done at entry gate .

Baby Taj 💖 Seeing this was equally as stunning as the Taj - it’s less crowded, calmer and a definite To Do. I could’ve sat here all day and just looked at the intricate artwork. The tiles - the patterns - the colours 😍 I still can’t believe how they built these amazing buildings 😍 Just wow - incredible 😍

This is open from sunrise to sunset. It is made up of white marble so some say it as a mini Taj Mahal and it has four doors. Back door is facing Yamuna river and the view is beautiful. You can sit here and enjoy the view. The art work on marble is beautiful and amazingly well done. Inside this, there are 4-5 graves are there which are present in four different corners of this monument. Rest this place is beautifully maintained by authorities.

The Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daula is dedicated to Mirza Ghiyas Beg, the father of Nur Jahan. Itimad-ud-Daula was his title. This mausoleum situated on the banks of river Yamuna was constructed in 1626_28 AD. There are many things in this mausoleum, known as Baby Taj, which were later adopted while making the Taj Mahal. People say that at many places the carvings here look more beautiful than the Taj Mahal. Another attraction of this mausoleum is its dome made in the Central Asian style. The gardens and paths here enhance its beauty even more. This mausoleum is the first mausoleum built in India which was made entirely of white marble. Pictures of trees, plants, animals and birds are engraved on its walls. Here and there the pictures of men can also be seen which is a strange thing because in Islam it is forbidden to use human beings as an object of decoration. Because of its beauty, this tomb is known as the Jewel Box.

We visited here during our 2 day weekend visit to Agra. I would suggest you to add this to must visit monuments. We had very pleasant time here as you will not find too much crowd here as compared to Taj Mahal. You will not need any guide here, you can just explore the beauty of the monument on your own. You can buy the tickets on the counter.

This is an under-visited and underappreciated site that you should go see. It really gives you an idea for where Shah Jahan got the ideas for the Taj Mahal. As you can see from my pictures, there was almost nobody there, and it was pleasant to walk around.

Itimad-ud-Daulah, otherwise known as the Baby Taj was very good for gentle scroll. This was the first Mughal tomb to be built entirely of marble. Gentle walk  by a large garden make you think about both mouseleums. Baby Taj was built by Nur Jahan and completed the construction of the building of the Tomb of her father in 1628 AD, nearly 7 years after his death. Taj Mahal was built in period of 1632 to 1648. Shah Jahan's favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal, was the niece of Nur Jahan,. Mumtaz Mahal. died suddenly in 1631, after giving birth to the couple's fourteenth child. She is buried today directly under the center of the great dome of the Taj Mahal. in her memory by her deeply grieving husband. Hmmm.....makes you think....... Definitely worth visiting.

The tomb, built between 1622 and 1628, represents a transition between the first phase of monumental Mughal architecture primarily built from red sandstone with marble decorations, as in Humayun's Tomb in Delhi and Akbar's tomb in Sikandra – to its second phase, based on white marble . Located on the eastern bank of the Yamuna River, the mausoleum is set in a large cruciform garden criss-crossed by water courses and walkways. The tomb is a must visit , less crowded, parking facilities available.

Extremely beautiful. A sheer poetry written in and with stones. A must visit when in agra. The premises is clean and gorgeous monument. Not as famous as other monuments but it’s breathtaking. Good place for rest in sunny hot day .....It is also a good place to see the Taj Mahal from the river side

Best spot to capture the view of Taj Mahal from the other side of the river. You'd feel like being on the other side of Effel Tower, looking at the structure. Come before sunset so you get to see different colors of Taj Mahal with the reflection of various sunlight. The garden itself is also very parky. Private vehicles are not allowed.

Garden was not maintained, But definitely a good view of Taj Mahal. Nice place for a photoshoot as this place was not that crowded and nice backdrop of Taj Mahal. You’ll have to buy online ticket here. Some small stalls are also there outside the garden to buy cold drinks or packet food.

Translated as 'Moonlight Garden' it is located across the Yamuna river directly opposite to the Taj Mahal. It's construction has been attributed to both Babur & further beautified by Shah Jehan. When I visited in March 2017, the flowerbeds were being readied for planting. Very few if the available plants & trees were flowering at that time, but one can imagine what the garden would be like in full bloom. Both the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort are visible from here. Behind Taj Mahal, we can see full view of Taj mahal outer side. A pleasant Park with proper maintaining. Park entry fee is 35 per pax. You can enjoy the View of Taj mahal which with Yamuna river reflection. Perfect place for Photography too. Please take care of plants, don't damage them.

First time I visited in 2016, and last visited in Sep 2022. I feel, the view of the Taj Mahal from Mehtab bagh is very different and you will feel the love for the monument and will enjoy the moment. I have visited Mehtab bagh twice but still I can go multiple times in different seasons.

Coming from Garden City myself I wasn't impressed at all with the garden. What floored me was that I got my first glimpse of Taj Mahal from here, and it was mind blowing. Got a few good clicks here.

A beautiful well arranged garden and a great romantic spot to watch and admire the beauty of tajmahal from the banks of yamuna. I went in winters and hence river was all dried up. And there were no flowers. In the season m sure, it would be spectacular. Loads a loads of amla/indian gooseberry trees are here. Ticket is 20₹ and no food is allowed inside. If you carry any food, they will keep it in with them and will return it once you leave the bagh. From the parking area, no car is allowed to go further. It’s 5/10 min walk. Battery rickshaw also works which charges 10₹ per head.

Great views of Tajmahal. The place where a black Taj Mahal would’ve been constructed if Aurangazeb didn’t imprison Shah Jahan. Agra Development Authority has constructed another View point, both have the same views. The parking is little far from the Garden and tickets are available online until 45 mins before sunset. The park is closed after sunset. The area is little shady afterwards. So better plan your logistics beforehand. I luckily got an auto but otherwise it would’ve been riskier.

Don't go there. Its a waste of time. Visit only if the weather allows or pleasant! Garden isn't even maintained properly. The only crowd is for taj mahal view and photography!

A trip to Agra is incomplete if you don’t visit Mehtab Baug! But I did not visit Mehtab Baug in my recent visit as I already visited it once. Instead I went for the Taj View Point which offers a more closer view of the Taj Mahal by a meter or 2. Mehtab Baug is a great place to walk around and explore the garden but doesn’t anymore serve it’s purpose of giving a great view of the Taj Mahal

Recommended Visit if you are in Agra. Mehtab Bagh (also called. 'Moonlight Garden') is a charbagh complex in Agra, North India. It lies north of the Taj Mahal complex and the Agra Fort on the opposite side of the Yamuna River. The garden complex is perfectly aligned with the Taj Mahal on the opposite bank. During the rainy season, the ground becomes partially flooded. Beautiful and less crowded view of Tajmahal and not to miss the Birds all around. Must visit if you are a nature lover. You can even sit back and relax on ground and mesmerize the beauty of TajMahal.

We couldn't enter the conservation centre. One must reserve their tour before visiting through their online portal . But here's a trick. If you want to see the elephants visit the place around 3:30pm. The elephants are taken outside for a stroll. (Suraj) the elephant has the biggest tusk 🦣

Let me start by saying 3 Cheers to Wildlife SoS (NGO/No for Profit Org.) for the amazing work that they do in their centers! Had the opportunity to visit their Elephant Conservation & Care center @Churmura (Near Agra). It comprises of Elephants rescued from different levels of Human cruelty - some forced to beg on the streets of Mumbai; some performed in Circus; some used as a symbol of Power & Royalty & many more. Thankfully Wildlife SoS takes very good care of all rescued elephants & works hard to educate the younger generation about letting wild animals be wild and not using them for human entertainment & needs! They also take very good care of all the rescued elephants. Kind Note: This is not a Zoo or Park but a rescue center- all visits are permitted only with permission from the Wildlife SoS office & with a token donation that keeps the rescue work going.

On my son's birthday, we visited SOS Wildlife centre for elephants. Located near Mathura, it was an eye-opening visit for us. How can man be so cruel towards the biggest mammal on earth, the elephant. The visit started with the educator explaining the motive of the ngo to rescue elephants and how they keep them in the rescue centre. Thereafter, we were taken inside the rescue centre near the elephants and were told stories about their pasts. It was a sad affair to see their injuries of past, soe were blind, some had broken knee, some had their ears chopped off and the list goes on. This was all done previously before rescue by humans obviously for commercial gains. But that is one side of humans, the other is the people working at this NGO, people working 24 hours taking good care of these elephants now so that they are fast on the recovery mode and do not develop hatred in their minds for us the humans. The visit was a memorable experience for my family and my small kids Shaurya and Jeevesh who loved the whole trip. We had the opportunity to bathe this largest mammal with our own hands and feed them too. Appeal to everyone to encourage, motivate and help these NGOs in whatever manner we can !!!!

Wildlife SOS is basically a Elephant Conservation centre and a rescue unit which consist of Abused, exploited old elephants who are living their life peacefully here. The place is situated on National Highway -2 near to Eshaan College. 1) All types of facilities were provided to Elephants and their well-being and also they respond to all kind of rescue calls for different kind of animals throughout the city. 2) SOS Wildlife runs totally on donations , so if you ever planning to visit their please donate some amount also (which is mandatory in elephant conservation centre). 3) Proper Parking facility and Washroom facility available. 4) You have to call them prior for booking your visit to conservation centre.

To experience a dream of a lifetime one should visit Wildlife SOS Elephant Sanctuary. Elephants that had previously been abused and used for begging purposes get a second chance of life. All the elephants suffer from mistreatment, but Wildlife SOS is there to nurse them back to health both physically and mentally. It is an incredible organization!

A wonderful place to visit! It is great to see how they give mistreated elephants a new life! They also do an excellent job at educating society about why elephants should be free and not held captive.

We had a fantastic time visiting the rescue elephants. Our guide provided us with loads of interesting information and allowed us plenty of time to spend watching the majestic elephants. The work that Wildlife SOS do is absolutely inspiring!

Must visit place in Agra. They have elephants which are rescued from various places and these elephants needs support and care. It's an NGO driven place which claims that they are running on charity only. People must support this NGO and place for their Nobel cause. They are doing great job. Imp- kindly drop email to their email id and seek appointment before visiting, unplanned visit may not be possible and may lead to long wait time at their gate। So book appointment first.

We were delighted to visit this elephant conservation sanctuary and see how much the lives of these majestic animals have improved. It is great to see how much happier the elephants clearly are here, compared to some of the awful conditions that they have been previously kept in. It is easy to see that everyone there has a lot of love and respect for these elephants and cares about their wellbeing. The staff at the centre were knowledgeable, happy to answer questions, knew each of the elephants by name and clearly loved explaining all of their different personality quirks! If you love animals, 10/10 recommend a visit (I'd also recommend a visit to the sloth bear sanctuary, run by the same organisation, which is inside the bird sanctuary on the way from/back to Agra). Visits are easy to arrange - we just emailed the centre and heard back within a few hours.

A truly special experience! So glad we found out about it and added it to our itinerary while visiting India. It's right on the way between Agra and Delhi - don't miss it!

If you reach there without emailing them then they will not allow you to enter. They have not mentioned this on their website. I don’t know when they will do it. Visitors feel fool when they reach at the destination and they are not allowed to enter. Basically they are trot make it a commercial activity.

It was so beautiful experience with my daughter …staff so knowledgeable…..I got to know more about elephants and especially my daughter was very excited to see these nature’s great masterpieces an elephant…it was her first experience with them…and staff is doing great job and care…I think government also should raise funds for wild sanctuary to save before they get disappeared…👍🙏

I walked for 20 minutes from Agra Fort to this mosque, said my prayer, cooled off and enjoyed the beauty of this rather less visited mosque. It was evident from the current state of the mosque that it gets less attention than Delhi Jama Masjid. But to me, it is equally beautiful, the ambience of the area, the little kids reciting the holy Quran at one corner, the shade of mosque in the scorching heat of the sun gave me such relief! But the interior should be maintained properly, the prayer mats were full of dust, flies were everywhere.. The concerned authority can look into it.

Jama Masjid at Agra also known as 'Friday Mosque' is a seventeenth-century structure and is one of the largest mosques built by the Mughals in India. Constructed under the reign of Shah Jahan in 1648, Jama Masjid is dedicated to his favourite daughter Jahan Ara Begum. This splendid monument is visible from the Agra Fort with the Agra Fort Railway station right between the two structures. The Jama Masjid is built mainly of red sandstone and white marble that stand as a testimony to the magnificent Mughal architecture. It has a fountain at the centre and is supported by four kiosks in the courtyard. The interior walls have scriptures in the Persian style praising for Shah Jahan and Jahan Ara. The inlaid panels of work here are quite similar to that of Taj Mahal and are common to all the monuments and structures built by the Mughals in Agra. Every Friday, special prayers are conducted at this mosque which is attended by thousands of devotees. The Tomb of Salim Chisti is a part of the mosque compound. Architecture of Jama Masjid Jama Masjid is the second most visited place after in Agra after the Taj Mahal. A few steps high, it has various domes, out of which the prayer dome is the largest. Buland Darwaza is forty meters high and is built of red sandstone. It is semi-octagonal in pattern and contains three massive domes at the top. These domes are followed by three smaller domes and twelve tiny domes at lower levels. The impressive arches at the courtyard are supported by pillars covered in red sandstone. The domes are decorated by an inverted lotus and are ornamented by a Kalash at the top. The designs on top of these domes are made of alternating stripes of marble and red sandstone. There is a Madrasa in the central courtyard, where small kids are taught Islamic language and culture. The interior walls have been made up of white marble singing the praise of the ruler in Persian inscriptions. Entry to the Jama Mosque is possible through five entrances. The gateway is embellished with small layers of sandstone. The Iwan (a rectangular hall walled on three sides) has a central arch with several geometric patterns. History of Jama Masjid The Jama Masjid was built by Shah Jahan for his favourite daughter Jahan Ara Begum. Its construction began in 1648 and took six years to complete with the efforts of five thousand workers. The mosque had a large open area in its front, known as the Tripoli Chowk. This octagonal chowk existed between Jama Masjid and the Delhi Gate of Agra Fort. However, this Chowk was destroyed during 1871-1873, to give room to Agra Fort Railway Station. The gateway otherwise known as the "Buland Darwaza" to the mosque was added after Shah Jahan's comprehensive victory in the Kandesh military campaign. A lot of the engravings are in Persian.

I visited this place on a late afternoon. Very less visited and less crowded place. Mosque is quite big, neat and clean. There was peace and positive vibes when I entered here. People were offering prayers, small kabutar Khana was there too. Definitely a beautiful place. But this is located near to station and a local market. Area is over crowded. So visit during morning to avoid market crowd.

Built by Jahanara Begum, this mosque must have been a sight to behold from the Agra Fort in its heydays. Today flanked in front by the railway station, it has been surrounded from all sides along the boundry wall by shops. This kind of heritage is expected to be better looked after than this. It is a fully functional mosque even today.

Sheesh Mahal is one of the architectural wonders inside the Khas Mahal in Agra Fort. It was commonly used as the Summer Palace by the Mughal princes as it was structured in such a way that it kept the Mahal cool from Agra’s heat. Water devices were installed with fountains and a waterfall inside the Palace. It was originally adorned with the finest glass pieces imported from Syria in order to reflect sunlight into the thick palace walls.

Sheesh Mahal is one of the most fabulous structures inside the Agra Fort. Located on the western side of the Musamman Burj (an octagonal tower lying in close proximity to Diwan-i-Khas), it is an incredibly beautiful sight to come across. This structure was one of the many additions made by Shah Jahan. Built between 1631-1640 AD, it also served as the imperial bath of the Emperor. The Mahal is also famous for having extra thick walls which were built to keep the interiors cool and pleasant. But it was close , no one could allow to enter in, only you can see is by the close net door with the help of your phone flashlight.

It was built by Mughal Emperor Shahjahan as a part of summer palace. Its most distinctive feature is glass mosaic work done on its walls and ceiling. These glass pieces have high mirror quality which glittered and twinkled in thousand ways in semi-dark interior. The glass was imported from Haleb of Syria. Shahjahan built glass palace also at Lahore and Delhi, but this is the finest of all.

In the past, this was an imperial bath. Mirrors were used both in its walls and ceilings. When illuminated, they would sparkle the entire hall. However, now, the majority of the mirrors are no longer there. Also, there is a metal barrier so you can only see the hall's interior from outside.

The beauty of the glasses used centuries ago is still continue to retain its beauty. I really enjoyed my visit to The Shish Mahal. I have been there many times. It's a nice place for Handicraft for foreigners. And they have a show about Shajahan & Mumtaz in the evening. But confirm before going there about the Play.

This is the most dishonest, crooked, scam of a company I have ever experienced. I bought a handcrafted table from them when touring their facility in Agra. I learned about 3 hours later that the very same table was 1/3 of the price on their website & my travel colleague saw thousands of them in a hidden room in the store. So much for it being a “one of a kind” design! Within 24 hours, I called & cancelled my order. I got disconnected (calling from in-country) & they refused to let me speak to my sales person. This sale took place in Nov 2022. They asked me to allow til April 2023 to receive the “handmade” table. It is now JAug 2023, still no table & no refund of over $2000 has been received, despite having been told & in writing NUMEROUS times by Shaan that they owe & will send me the refund. I have complied with EVERY REQUEST they have made for documentation, and a requested electronic transfer document from my bank. The guides say this is an government approved official store for makrana marble inlaid handcrafts. But they are very overpriced compared what you can get online. And they really try to sell you things. Beware.

The performance was awesome 5☆. The seats were broken on A-18 and 19 (which were platinum seats), and the headphones for translation to english was not working. Suggestion is that We would expect better seats. At least have the courtesy to allow to change seats after informing the management.

An absolute must for an Agra visitor. Full value for money concept. The beautiful dresses and the overall ambience adds to the wonderful artist performance.

I loved this show...I highly recommend it to anyone viewing the Taj, before viewing the Taj. The dances and costumes bring the period of history alive, and the story of the untimely death of Mumtaz..and the love which inspired the Taj, is very informative about history.

The products on marble are costly, but it's worth it since all are pure hand crafts. Some wooden products are just highly priced which are available very cheap on local shops. The marble work are quite fantastic and intriguing over here. Tempted as well. Worth to buy but ain't no cheap items here. Premium. Good marketing talk by the sales executives who explain everything. Photography not allowed but still I took some.

Marvellous piece of Architecture. In India there many places with great architecture. This monument is worth visiting. Better to book online tickets and avoid long queue. Early morning is best time to visit less crowded and peaceful. Drinking water is available inside gate no need to carry bottles avoid plastic.

Here, you will get the image of the monument reflected on the water. However, it is a crowded spot so you have to wait for your turn to be able to position here, and quickly take your shots once you're in front as others also want to be in this prime spot.

Cherish your moment there, an iconic heritage site. No wonder it's among the wonders. Go to the site during proper day light and spend time till evening to enjoy the sunset moment. The normal entry ticket costs 50 per head, whereas to the podium it will be 150. Of course it's worth visiting and look at the artworks from close eye distance. Keep your token handy, as it is required while exit.

As expected a truly incredible experience. It was magnificent and worth hiring a guide to explore the entire area. Recommend using the restroom before entering the grounds as they are very limited there and not great. Make sure to look at the detail In the marble with all of the exotic stone inlays (by hand) in the dome.

Always a stunning place to look upon, with a mesmerizing and breathtaking view, no matter how many times you have visited. Recently, a main mausoleum ticket has been introduced, costing ₹150. For those visiting for the first time, they might consider buying the ticket, but I suggest not to. There's nothing inside worth spending an extra ₹150 for , the main entry ticket is for ₹50 (also don't buy those shoes cover outside, you can get them for free at the main mausoleum entry and you only need them for main mausoleum )

How can you not visit one of the 7 Wonders of the World?! This palace is simply amazing and beautiful. I have no words for this beautiful structure. Beyond its beauty, there is a powerful story of the history, involving family, murder, imprisonment, death, and memorial after death. Despite seeing a lot of other visitors there, it didn’t feel crowded. And once you entered inside to see the replica of the tombs, you entered in single file that seemed to move along quickly. The grounds are well maintained and beautiful and overall it was fairly clean. Getting back was a trip! Waiting for the golf cart transport with the other visitors, there was no proper order or manners-so you gotta be quick if you want a seat on the transport back!

No matter how many times you have visited this wonderful monument, every time it feels so different and so amazing and it really would be a monumental regret of your life to not have visited this monument once in your lifetime. It's like this monument has a life of its own and you too will feel it when you are near to it. No wonder why many dream of visiting this wonder everyday. I wish I get a chance to visit this beauty again!

No doubt it's one of the 7 wonders of the world. Spectacular, Beauty created with great architectural skills. Hire a guide there and you will get so much more to know. It will take around 1hour 30 minutes for a full tour with a guide. It has been created so thoughtfully ages ago that you can't imagine. The symmetry in architecture, the 2D designing giving 3D illusions, the carvings of gems and the way they glow in light, I was so amused to see all that which I didn't know earlier. I admire the beauty but more than that the architectural skills. Must visit atleast once in a lifetime..

Well managed but for the first timers, it can be tricky to take autos from the car parking as autos are only allowed till a certain point. It is best to take government run battery buses from parking to entry point. From there just a 2 minute walk and one can buy entry tickets before getting in the queue. A big racket and ruckus about shoe covers, so please buy them in advance !

Very nice maintained world heritage monument. Recommended to arrive at Taj early morning from 5:30 - 6:00 am when the queue is not there. Wheelchair are available free. Battery cars take you from the parking for a nominal fee of Rs 20/- per person.

Historical Monument of India and one of the seven wonders of the world. It is still charming though many years have passed. There is brilliance and accuracy in every portion of the monument. The area is taken care very well. The garden is Maintained well. There are plenty of visitors visiting each and every day from different places and countries. Nice and impressive building. We couldn’t make the most of it due to the fog during the 2 days we stayed in Agra. So crowed. The access to the building from the city is a chaos. This should be considered and improved for one of the wonders of the world.

Very nice place feeling is good. Absolutely stunning and marvelous; must-see in your lifetime. Even if the journey is long for you (40 hours for me to get here from Florida) it is worthwhile getting to see this fantastic structure. I highly recommend you pay for a guided tour as it will be educational and efficient. The great photography was a bonus! Indescribable the setting and the architecture as well as the love story here. Hire a local photographer for their digital copy then you don’t have to worry about getting nice photos. They know the nice shots for you. You could get a paper copy as a choice. Go to the other side across the river as well to see from a different view. It looks different depending on the time of day.Spectacular! Great history and amazing architecture! Must see whilst visiting North India. Absolutely loved it. Although if you are non Indian tourist, you have to be careful with local tour guides and shop owners not to try to charge you few times more for services and items.

This was my 2nd visit and once again got mesmerized by its beauty, salute to efforts put into carvings. the gems and stones used glitters in sunlight even after 400 years. Must visit place. Lived up to it's expectation as a wonder of the world. The story behind the mausoleum is very sad but demonstrated a different world. We went on the anniversary of the kings death which meant we could see extra things and this was lucky for us! Stunning!

What can I say, it's the most amazing place I have ever visited. The story behind the Taj Mahal and the craftsmanship is incredible. I went as part of a tour, I would definitely recommend getting a tour guide as they can tell you all about the history. We got there just before 8am and there were no wait times at all and this was a Saturday. There are photographers who will take your picture if you want them to but otherwise your tour guide will know all of the best spots to have them. I truly hope I get to visit again!

It's a beautiful place and a beautiful structure. The view of yamuna is amazing on the backside, properly maintained and garden view is also great. A must visit place with friends or family. Just one thing which was not okay that washrooms are not properly maintained other than that it's a great area and great place. I really enjoyed being there 👍🏻

Don't hire photographers and guides. Service not good. They'll eat your money. Instead take your own camera. Peta sweet is very famous here but again bargain. Ask rates in 3-4 shops and then buy. Of course an iconic place. Enjoy

It is just phenomenal when you look up-front...... It is even more beautiful when you look up close. The pictures can never define it's beauty. It is truly one hell of a wonder.... Visited my first ‘7th Wonder of The World’ and I was absolutely blown away by how beautiful it was. We had a guide who was very knowledgeable about all aspects. There are a lot of vendors who try to sell you items which are probably not authentic. Don’t fall for the photographers too who will charge you an arm and a leg. A must see!

Anguri Bagh is a sprawling charbagh (four complex compartments) styled garden, centrally situated in the premises of Khas Mahal in Agra Fort. It was built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1637 as his exalted place of leisure and rest. If touring Agra Fort, this is a must-visit spot for an insightful exploration of the Mughal history. As the name suggests this was a vineyard built by the emperor for his wife. It is now a garden, nicely decorated and maintained. There was a large fountain in the middle but it did not seem operational. When I was wandering around I noticed two Chinese girls dressed up in traditional North Indian costumes and dancing in Bollywood song and a third girl was making a video of that. Probably it was for their YouTube channel.

This was basically a grape garden surrounded by the residences of the royal ladies (Zenana) and was believed to produce the choicest grapes. It was constructed in the normal Mughal Char Bagh type garden structure with elevated pathways. There is a fountain in the centre of the criss-cross pathways. Unfortunately it is no longer functioning. It is still a beautiful place, through the grapes have long been forgotten! Very well-preserved.

As was normal during the times, it was badly damaged by the British during their rule.

Diwan -I - am is a historical landmark This is a lovely, functional building inside Agra Fort, where the Mughal emperor met the public.It isn't very grand or decorative, in comparison to the other buildings within the fort, but that is understandable, given that for all intents and purposes it had an official purpose.

The precursor to the Diwan-e-Aam at Delhi's Red Fort, this one is a massive pillared pavilion, fronted by a large garden. This was where the emperor would meet the general public, so to say: ambassadors, people offering tributes and gifts, people beating petitions, and people he was rewarding. In addition, horses or elephants were paraded here before the emperor, among other more showy elements of state. The pillared hall is fairly bare, but the white marble throne area has some lovely inlay work. In front of the Diwan-e-Aam, in two separate enclosures of their own, are remnants of British rule in India: a British cannon, and the tomb of John Russell Colvin, lieutenant governor of the North-Western Provinces, who died of cholera in 1857.

It has a central position at some height on which emperor used to sit and address their audience. This is an architectural marvel. From the place of emperor, he was able to see everyone despite of having so many pillars in the hall.

Very Nice place, History: A result of earliest manifestation of Shah Jehan's love for marble, Diwan-I-Am or Hall of Public Audience was the place where the emperor addressed the general public as well as the nobility. Constructed between 1631-40, it is situated close to Machchhi Bhawan. The huge assembly hall measuring 201' by 67' has flat roof and two arched red sandstone gateways to the north and south. The façade has an arcade with nine bold arches and the hall is divided into three aisles. Though the building was constructed in red sandstone, yet it had been plastered with white shell plaster to resemble the white marble. The raised rectangular chamber from where the emperor addressed the people was ostentatiously ornamented. Made in marble, this 'jharokha' with a three-arched opening and inlaid with precious stones, was known as the 'Takht-i-Murassa' (the Throne Room). This chamber was connected to the royal apartments and the royal ladies could watch the ceremonials of the Diwan-i-Am through the marble windows with perforated screens on the right and left of the enperor's chamber, while not being seen by those in the hall. The marble dias below this chamber was known as 'Baithak'. It used to serve as the seat for Wazir, who presented petitions to the emperor. It is said that the hall used to have silver balustrades for the nobility, where they could stand according to their ranks and the outlines of the columns and the spandrels were done in gold.

After Jai Singh’s army encircled the Purandar fort, Shivaji was forced to sign the Purandar Treaty under which he agreed to hand over 23 out of the 35 forts held by him. Purandar Treaty was followed by his famous visit to Agra Fort, where Shivaji was humiliated at Diwan-i-Khas & kept under house arrest by Aurangzeb. Shivaji managed to escape from the Agra Fort within three months. Less than four years later, he launched fresh attacks to regain his surrendered forts & the Mughals lost all they had. In front of Diwani I Khas, on the riverfront side, lies the finely carved Jahangir’s black throne, brought from Allahabad in 1610. Some pertain to the Taj itself: layouts, including a beautiful 19th century one on cloth, a few paintings, mostly from the 20th century, farmans regarding the purchase and construction of the Taj, and some details about the semi-precious stones used in it); others, like weapons, coins, and jade or celadon ware, are more generally Mughal. Entry to the Taj Museum is free.

This is a must visit place in this area, to know about Taj Mahal. This museum opens after 9am in the morning. People hardly spend 15 to minutes at this place.

Known as the Musamman Burj and Saman Burj, it occupies pride of place next to the Khas Mahal inside the Agra Fort. It is an octagonal tower believed to have been built by the emperor Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz Mahal. It was built by demolishing a small marble palace built by Akbar. It was inlaid with gems and other precious stones and today provides spectacular views of the Taj Mahal

The Shah Burj (also known as the Musamman or Muthamman Burj) is a domed tower that was built sometime in 1632-1640 CE at Agra Fort by Shahjahan, on the site of an earlier similar structure built by Akbar. The Shah Burj was the site of the jharokha-e-darshan, a 'window' from which the emperor would provide his subjects a daily morning view of himself, to reassure them of his safety and well-being. In Jahangir's time, this also became the site where a thick metal chain was attached, reaching to the ground and allowed to be pulled by whoever wished to appeal to the emperor's sense of justice: the 'adl-e-Jahangir'. The Sabz Burj offers a fine view of the Taj Mahal. Shahjahan, imprisoned in the chambers beside the Burj by his son and successor Aurangzeb, is supposed to have looked longingly out at the distant view of the mausoleum he had built for his empress.

This place looks beautiful but this place is closed, no one is allowed inside.

Shah Jahan used to either read the Quran or gaze at his beloved wife’s memorial from this veranda. This corner was the only solace in his last days. It is said that Shah Jahan kept on gazing at the Taj Mahal till his last breath right from here. This is an octagonal tower in which Shah Jahan was held as a prisoner by his son as he requested that he wanted to spend his life looking at Taj Mahal.

You're not allowed to go inside. But, the outer side can be seen through the open areas.

this is the place where shah Jahan was was kept by Aurangzeb. He was, you can say, prisoned here till his last breath. He used to gaze the Taj Mahal, tomb of his beloved wife, from the window of this space.

This powerful fortress of red sandstone encompasses, within its 2.5-km-long enclosure walls, the imperial city of the Mughal rulers. It comprises many fairy-tale palaces, such as the Jahangir Palace and the Khas Mahal, built by Shah Jahan; audience halls, such as the Diwan-i-Khas; and two very beautiful mosques.

Visiting this fort makes you feel part of the history. This fort is very well maintained. At the entry guides will be behind you. They asked Rs 1800 at the entry saying that it is huge. We almost fell for it but resisted as my son was not keen. if you take it outside. We resisted temptation and walked in. After the gates, another guide agreed at one third of the cost outside. I strongly recommend that you take a guide to explain everything. One key part is that even though it looks massive from outside, only 25% of it is actually available for tourists. The remaining fort is under the army. The fort is very well maintained and a must visit place

The palace was built by Akbar for his Hindu wives. It is one of the earliest surviving buildings of Akbar's reign. Jahangir in his memoirs stated that the buildings were erected by his father Akbar but did not take any credit for the construction of Jahangiri palace.

Jahangir Palace may be the most noteworthy building inside the Agra Fort. The Mahal was the principal zenana (palace for women belonging to the royal household), and was used mainly by the Rajput wives of Akbar. It also served as the main residence of Nur Jahan, wife of Jahangir. It is also one of the first buildings to greet your eyes when you enter Agra Fort from the Amar Singh Gate.

Jahangiri Mahal or Jahangir Palace... The palace was built by Akbar for his wives. It is one of the earliest surviving buildings of Akbar's reign. Jahangir wrote in his memoirs that the buildings were erected by Akbar and did not take any credit for the construction of Jahangiri Mahal. During the reign of Jahangir, it is believed to have been the residence of his wife, Jagat Gosain, the Princess of Marwar and mother of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan.

Great place to visit, go for Taj Mahal first and if you have time visit Agra fort, there is also a great view of Taj Mahal. We saw both in one day with a guide who drove us around.

Definitely worth a visit while you’re in Agra. Entry is 650 rupees. The cloak room is included in ticket price so there is no need to pay the worker- even though he will ask you to. The guides outside will overcharge you for the tour so get your ticket, go inside, and get a guide inside if you want one. One of them started at 1000 but offered to give me the tour for 500 rupees when I said no and that was the cheapest price I heard, although I preferred to just walk without a guide and read the plaques so I didn’t use a guide. Scam guides outside will also tell you it may take a long time to get in and for a few hundred rupees they will get you in in one just a couple minutes— this is because there’s a foreigner’s line that bypasses all of the Indian visitors (who pay 1/13th of entry price) and no guide is needed to get in immediately.
