This was definitely worth the stop! The path to the falls was only about 1/4 mi and The path to the suspension bridge was about 3/4 mile. It's a fairly easy hike except for walking up the 3 flights of stairs. It is definitely worth it. The views from the suspension bridge and also the views from the top of the fall are impeccable.

I love being here! The path is fun to walk. There are so many great views of the Kootenai. The swinging bridge is SO MUCH FUN! There's honestly not much else to say, so I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Amazing accidental pit stop on our way to Whitefish from Spokane. Didn’t scope out the nice stops prior to leaving and simply stopped because a lot of cars were in the lot :). Glad we did. Nice weather. Easy walk if you’re steady on your feet (a few roots and rocks in the path along with mud). Don’t pass this up. It’s well worth the 30 minutes.

Nice quick spot for a short hike. Easy hike in, even in March where there is some snow/slush and muddy ground. It was a great way to break up our drive and stretch our legs. Views are nice, plenty of area to explore.

Kootenai falls is definitely one of those places you could spend ALL day at! The river and all of its waterfalls are beautiful! The suspension bridge is pretty darn cool too!

A nice quick hike right off of the road. Worth stopping to check out the waterfall and the bridge. There is also a little store with food and drinks for a good price. We got some hot dogs and pulled pork as well as some ice cream.

It's one of the most beautiful adventures I've ever been on. Easy hike in and out.. so many views along the hike too that may satisfy without doing the whole hike. The Bridge was cool so long as the folks behind you, arent making it swing too bad.... I will do this again someday.

Our visit to Montana would not have been the same without our visit to Kootenai Falls. What beauty and adventure. My wife worked for months to be in shape to be able to handle those stairs over the rail track. The trail is not smooth, so we're glad we brought hiking poles. They really paid off! Love the swinging bridge and the falls itself was amazing! Great times!

This entire area is absolutely stunning. The color of the water, jagged landscape, and the vast blue skies made this one of the most memorable stops on my trip to glacier national park. Highway 2 along the Kootenai River is one of the most beautiful routes I've been on and barely had any traffic.

Easy to hike to - probably a 15 min hike down to the suspension bridge. Bathrooms were closed when we went through around 3:00pm, but usually they are open during warmer months. The town of Libby is about 10 minutes away. Dog friendly, easy to find parking and an absolutely gorgeous area!

What a cool experience! The hike was only a mile in and it wasn’t much of a hike more like a walk through the woods! So worth seeing the scenery and the beautiful waterfalls! The bridge definitely swings just as described! Fun for all ages!

It was a beautiful fall day to visit Kootenai Falls Park and Suspension Bridge. From the parking area it is a short down hill hike to the suspension bridge. The trail is uneven, rocky, and may be difficult, the first bridge you will have to walk down stairs, then continue on the trail. Walking on the suspension bridge may be difficult for some. The views are amazing and walking on the suspension bridge was fun. I highly recommend when in Libby, Montana to visit Kootenai Falls Suspension Bridge and Park. No entrance fee.

So beautiful. It's been over 15 yrs since I've been there and the trail is well maintained and the beauty never ceases to amaze me. Not a spot to just drive by without stopping. Always time to see and feel the awesomeness of God's handiwork at every turn. Loved it . 5+ star rated, for sure!!!

Not enough words to express my feelings of inspiration and gratitude for discovering this ranch ten years ago. Buck Brannaman himself recommended I re-start my horsemanship education here in hopes that some previous bad experiences that broke my confidence could be resolved and I've never looked back. Everything is top notch quality, from the horses, to the instructors (especially Shayne, Des, Roby and Janice), the comfortable accommodations and the landscape is unbeatable. Through years of following their horsemanship program, my riding style changed completely and I now feel confident in the saddle. It has been hard work but anything worth doing well is worth the effort. They really care about being physically fit and inspired me to lose the weight that was holding me back from being a better rider. They care about the mental aspect and being in a good mind frame and honoring the horse, which surprisingly has helped me in my personal life and business career. They host two Buck clinics here every summer and what a great opportunity it has been to ride my own horse (who I purchased from the ranch) as well as fantastic guest horses and feel what Buck teaches from an experienced horse who knows their job. The horses here aren't just trained, they are "guest ready" and 100% safe for beginner to advanced riders. I have had the great honor of watching these people start young horses, restart older horses and the attention to the smallest detail and the slightest "try" is inspiring and beautiful. This ranch is truly a testament to the great teachings of Tom Dorrance, Ray Hunt, Buck Brannaman, not to mention the great vaquero and dressage teachers who practice fine horsemanship. Come here with an open mind, leave your ego at the door and be ready to be welcomed into a place where the horse comes first and you will be rewarded with a fantastic experience that will carry through not only with your horsemanship, but in life. Great place for riders and people who want to submerse themselves into the cattle world for the first time. Lovely support staff, excellent food and comfortable lodging. This experience is one of the best. I highly recommend. The horses are well trained and maintained with care and integrity. You will find this an experience worth a lifetime.

Where do I start with praises for Mcginnis. It is hard to put into 200 words the special qualities of this place. I have been coming to the ranch for Winter Horsemanship for several years and it just keeps getting better and better. Shayne, Robbie, and Des are truly dedicated to the advancement of Brannaman horsemanship, in both the horse and the student. Hands down, the best quality instruction of horsemanship in the country. Shayne progresses and evolves with each passing day, and is happy to share this progess with his students. The staff and interns are respectful, helpful, and kind. The horses are top shelf, and are trustworthy, safe, and highly trained. Is it intense? YES. Is it hard? YES. But most things worth having in life are. I would recommend the ranch, and Winter Horsemanship, to anyone who is a looking for MORE. MORE quality in their horsemanship, MORE dedication to their progression, and MORE learning to feel FOR the horse and where he is coming from. There is no where else like McGinnis to gain the knowledge of how to move forward on your horsemanship journey. Your relationship with horses will change forever if you are willing to learn and change as well.

If you are a dressage rider I don't reconmended it, I went along, as I know that all riding at the end is the same, dressage, western all have similar principles. However sitting through lesson after lesson with someone telling that your chosen sport is cruel to horses, that dressage horse are all unhappy and it is all bad training. When it is easy to tell that they don't know much about dressage at all. Then the owner and his new girlfriend Des both have a go at you and instead of stopping and explaining what they want and what part of the gear they are referring to, (not everyone knows what a slobber strap is), they start telling you, you will ruin their horse. I was there to learn with a open mind but they were not there to teach with an open mine. All disclpines have people who don't treat horses well, you can't tell me all Cowboys do everything perfect.

No one can say it better than their own web site, which accurately describes this amazing destination. Every square foot of the ranch is beautiful. You have two housing options; cabins or lodge. Both options are comfortable, spacious, and attractive. Our cabin looked tiny from the outside, but it was very roomy inside. Two twin beds and a four drawer dresser upstairs, and a queen bed with two dressers downstairs. There were also two comfortable leather chairs, an ottoman, two more simple chairs, a gas burning fireplace, plenty of lighting, and a ceiling fan. All of the contents of the cabins are new, and at the same time give an authentic cowboy feel. They use tankless water heaters, so hot water is quick to arrive and you get as much as you need. Each cabin porch has two chairs, two warm blankets, and one two person bench, along with a broom, and coat-hangers where you can leave a wet coat or your helmet or your cowboy hat. If you've forgotten something, no worries, they have whatever you need, and it's all included. They also provide each guest with a note pad, water bottle, lip balm, and a very nice souvenir coffee cup. Whatever your skill level, whatever your age, they can teach you to ride. Their wranglers are friendly and patient. You can spend the entire week taking horsemanship lessons, herding cattle, going on trail rides, or simply relaxing. They do a great job pairing you with a horse, and they have plenty of horses to choose from. Spend plenty of time getting to know your horse on day one so you will know which horse to halter up on day two. They will also teach you to rope a calf, brand a calf, and anything else you want to know about working on a cattle ranch. The guests eat breakfast and dinner together, and lunch is eaten whenever you like. Every meal is bountiful and tasty, no food goes to waste, and if you have a special request, just ask. They provide bottled OJ, green tea, Gatorade, and refillable water bottles, They also serve a variety of wine, great appetizers, beer, and dessert. Be sure to let them know if you are celebrating something. They make great desserts!! Most of the staff will join you for dinner, and they make a point of moving around each night so you get to know everyone, providing a family feeling to the entire experience. Forget your boots? Borrow a pair. No chaps? Borrow a pair. No cowboy hat? Borrow one. They will lend you just about everything you need including bug spray and sun screen. Homesick? Bring your favorite DVD or VHS, and watch it on the big screen in the Game Room where they have a Foosball, pool, ping pong, and air hockey table, along with cards, poker chips, and other games. They also have a washer and dryer in case you run low on clean cloths. Something extra... You can do as much or as little as you like. You can grab a halter, catch your horse, groom him, feed him, get him saddled up, put his bridle on, and take care of all of this in reverse at the end of the day, or you can let the wranglers handle some or all of this for you. In addition to the regular activities, they put a sign-up for the morning jingles on Tuesday - Friday. If you love to ride, be sure to sign up to jingle the horses in from the pasture. One of the wranglers will meet you in front of the tack room at 5:50 am, help you get a jingle horse ready for the ride of your life, and then spend around half an hour with you riding through the early mist as you trot non-stop to bring all of the rest of the horses in for the morning. This was our first visit to McGinnis Meadows Cattle and Guest Ranch, but it definitely won't be our last.

My stay at McGinnis Meadows was the best experience of my entire life. I was drawn to this ranch by the Buck Brannaman Clinic. I lost my 32 year old mare who I shared 1/2 my life with and found myself horseless after 50 years of owing, raising and riding. (My dreams of riding in a b Buck Clinic seemed bleak). I found out that McGinnis had over 100 head of horses started or retrained in the Tom Dorrance, Ray Hunt and Buck Brannaman style of horsemanship and that they would pair me up with the perfect horse to achieve my dream! Owned by one of Buck's best friends, student and fabulous horseman in his own right Shayne Jackson. He has put together the perfect place to learn this style of horsemanship with an incredible staff, wranglers, eager interns, great cooks, beautiful surroundings, comfortable, quaint lodging and beautiful horses for every level of rider. You can also bring your own horse and they will put them up for you right there on the ranch. It was an amazing three days of horsemanship and cattle cutting with Buck, but I think the best time ever was the last 2 days using what I learned out in real life situations with the wranglers, interns and awesome guests. WHO KNEW A 64 YEAR YOUNG WOMAN WOULD LOVE TO DRIVE CATTLE 🐂🐴❤️

Beautiful place. Some great people on staff when we were there a few years ago. Arrogant owner promoted young intern to Ranch Manager and ditched his wife. Too much back of the house drama to be a worthwhile experience.

We took the scenic route around the lake, stopped at the dam visitor center. The Person attending the visitor center was exceptional.

Spectacular place to pull off and visit. The beautiful birds and the wind make for an epic experience. The architecture is incredible!

We really enjoyed checking the views of the dam out. We visited on a Sunday morning during covid (2 Years ago) so they didn't have the vistor center open. But nonetheless we just wanted to explore anyway because we don't have dams like this in Kansas.

Libby dam visitor center is not on the main drag and it is a few extra miles drive to get to. There is a museum inside and Information about current dam flow and output. Good picture opportunity on the non visitor side but hind sight, I would have probably not driven around to the visitor side.

Even though it was 41 degrees and foggy and at 4:45 p.m., it is always beautiful.

Still a great stop, I remember taking a tour in 1987, of course back then you could get a pretty extensive tour. Still worth the stop! The dam itself has a really unique aesthetic with odd concrete angles.

Free guided tours of Libby Dam and Powerhouse are offered daily Memorial Day to Labor Day. We did not take the tour but I’m sure it would be interesting. Visitor Center open 9:30 am to 6:00 pm.

Interesting place to learn about the Columbia River Treaty between the USA and Canada. Great for all ages.

Diversity of displays provided us with a great appreciation of geologic, industrial and cultural history of the Libby area and the Kootenai people.

A really awesome place to bring the kids! It's small but very well put together.

Very interesting museum on the Libyan Troy area lots of information on logging mining anything you can name definitely worth the stop roof leaks a little but they were working on that.

Lots of cool stuff inside and outside the museum. I spent a week helping install the new roof and got a chance to meet alot of the staff(all super nice older folks that volunteer). There’s also no fee to visit, so go check it out!

I suppose you're very cool place had so much fun I see you're on a field trip so I do want to come back and actually read everything about the history of Libby

Great museum of history of Libbey Montana and area's if you like historical history this is the place to come and see so many things to see and the staff is fantastic.

My 7yr old loves this museum and so do all of the neighborhood kids we bring! A lot to see and learn!

This museum had a lot of different exhibits and showed the history of the area. It was engaging for all ages, we had 5yrs up to 65yrs. They also gave the kids a little treasure hunt with questions relating to different exhibits throughout the museum. There is also an outdoor exhibit area. The staff is all volunteer and very helpful. There is no entry fee but donations are accepted.

My cousin booked a four hour float trip for us and it was awesome! It was my first time fly fishing for trout much less on a river and I still boated lots of fish in spite of myself . Joe was our guide and he couldn’t have been more helpful. And his knowledge of the river was really impressive. Thanks Joe!

Very classy and professional operation. Two of Dave's guides took a family of four(kids 8, 11) fly fishing and put us on fish but most importantly showed us a great time. Scenery was amazing. River was beautiful. All of us were beginners. We boated rainbows and cutthroat. All we could ask for. Want to thank Dave and our guides for the memories. Come play Blue Ox fest in Wisconsin Dave!

Highly recommended! My wife and I were driving through Libby looking for a place to stay when we found Kootenai Angler and were fortunate to find they had a cabin available on the river. We stayed two nights and did not want to leave. The staff and owner were very accommodating, going the extra mile to ensure our stay was top notch. Although we did not have an opportunity to fish, we are making plans to return as soon as possible.

My husband really wanted a fly fishing trip and I wanted a scenic float. Jay, our guide, set us up with both! The fishing was amazing as was the scenery, and Jay was an exceptional fishing guide. Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic experience. My family and I went out for a half day with Chris and Dan. Both boat guides knew the water well and were patient with our less experienced boys. Next time we will do a full day trip.

Fished with Kootenia Anglers for the 3rd year in a row and as always it was a great experience. The guide this year was Ron Ridgeway and he was one of the best guides I have fished with. Very knowledgeable about the river and the fishing and was a great instructor. My fishing buddy was inexperienced but Ron had him casting and into fish within the first hour. Dave runs a first rate outfit and I am already looking forward to next year.

Three of us stayed at the Kootenai Angler guest cabin, Otter. The cabin was very well appointed with a coffee pot, toaster, wet bar, refrigerator, coffeepot, filters and coffee etc. No cooking facilities but great for snacks etc. No TV but the wifi was very good. The view was the best and trains going by made it perfect. I would have given it more stars but the two beds need to be replaced.

this guy Mel is a total scammer. He made a friend from Australia pay 100 percent of his mount in advance then promised it to him many times. this was several years ago. one lie after another with Mel thats what get from him

I have used Mel at Wildlife Recapture since 2016. Very professional and accommodating, fast turn around and incredible detail. I recommend him to everyone I know.

Just absolutely gorgeous!! We definitely want to return next year. The spaces are roomy and they have clean restrooms and a trash dumpster at the entry of the park. This was one of our very favorite campgrounds on our trip.

I grew up in it... I work in it... I recreate in it... I live in it! The KNF in NW Montana is a 2.2 million acre wonderland - It leaves little to be desired. All of your outdoor pursuits should include a visit here!

Truly a magnificent and beautiful place of Earth. The cleanest air and water with watching bald eagles as an added bonus! Makes me appreciate my home, Montana.

We stayed at Graves creek campground and was a great experience. Perfect for getting away from the noise and into the wilderness. The campground is small with 5 very large spaces to set up. There's one relatively clean toilet area that was in need of tp, by the end of the weekend. We're not too sure how often rangers come through the area to check on things. The river offers soothing white noise at night. There's also containers to lock up food stuff to keep it away from bears and critters.

This was our first time visiting Montana. Given that we live in the Pacific Northwest, we got more than we were expecting coming here and we'll definitely be coming back here again. Loved hiking in the forest. Beautiful views and amazing feelings.

Great lake to go too for a relaxing time. Also, the dock is a bonus

I mean....it's a forest. How can you dislike it? And if you do dislike it....like why are you even here? The hike to the bridge was pretty easy. Passed a couple families with kids; one had a stroller. I would def recommend your kids be able to walk. The stroller posed a real difficulty for the parents it seemed.

This Forest is beautiful and wild I will be spending many more days there in the future! The place I like has limited camp grounds but that is part of the charm!

Wow!! We loved our visit to Carousel roller rink!! We were here for a snowboarding event and carousel was kind enough to host a roller disco party for us opening night! They were so friendly, they have a great space and incredibly reasonable prices. It was so much fun - highly recommend!! Huge thanks to them for hosting us - we’d love to come back next time we’re in the area!

Very nice little building $5 to enter it with free skate for a 2-hour session and you can't beat that that's very cheap the owner who was really nice she actually got into some of the races with her husband and her two kids if you see this thank you for doing what you do for the community and I'll be back there

This is such a great place to learn something new. All of the kids that go skating are always extremely helpful with the new skaters to teach and just being helpfully. Great place for family fun or your first date night out.

Our family loves going to the roller rink! My oldest child started skating here when she was only 3. They go out of their way to make sure we have a safe and family friendly place for the kids to have some fun in a town where there isn't many options.

This is the second year we have worked with Carousel Roller Rink to rent their facility for our post event fun evening. We will be booking again for next year! Tons of fun and they are very accommodating!

Not very pleasant with the customer service. $3 for a 12oz soda Skates don't work well on linoleum floors. Traveled almost 4 hours round trip. Disappointed

A good ol fashioned good time! We had a blast falling while falling on our tails 🤣 the ambiance reminded me of a rink I used to skate at in the 90s. The staff were courteous and helpful. The only thing of mention for need of improvement is their women's restroom...it wreaked of sewage in there, Bad. Also had water leaking around the base of the toilet. There is definitely a problem that needs checked out.

Been going here for years ever since I was a little boy and always had the best time here. The staff is pretty much a second family to me that always makes coming here worth it. For a low price of 5 bucks you need to at least come check it out😁
