Great place to visit now and then, some of the exhibits have been updated to be motion operated rather than button operated which is a bonus these days! Kids 6 and under are free and there is a kids section with interactive puzzles and viewing gadgets! They are currently building an addition to the front of the building so you will have to walk around the construction area to get to the lobby, which can be a cold walk in the winter. Otherwise it's the same museum it's been for many years, very well maintained.

I can not truly put into words how amazing this place is. We visited on a Monday during term-time, so the crowds weren't too bad inside. There was no queue to enter as multiple staff were handling ticket sales smoothly and efficiently. There was good parking, and the grounds were well maintained. The inside of the building was immaculate, all glass displays were spotless, and every interactive exhibit was in perfect working order. The layout of the museum is brilliant. It guides you through each exhibit in a way n which you don't miss a single thing. There is an abundance of seating for regular rests: This was very useful for myself personally. The toilets were accessible and clean and placed strategically throughout the museum. The information on each specimen offered a perfect balance in terms of readability. The information was succinct and to the point, making it accessible for children and adults alike. There was a lot to do to entertain children! We saw children walking around with quiz sheets, and there are lots of interactive areas, videos, and a section dedicated to interactive play and exploration. I could have spent a whole day here and still not see everything! It's definitely a place I will return to on my next visit to Canada! As is normal for museums, it was an exit through the gift shop: I found there to be a large variety of gifts and souvenirs with something to meet all budgets! This place is suitable for all ages, and the entry fee was very reasonable considering the wealth of fossils on display. The cleanliness and accessibility of the museum was very impressive. Strongly recommend anyone to visit!

Dinosaurs are cool. Lots of information in this place. Lots to take in. Spent 3 hours here just looking around. So much to see. Totally worth the cost of admission. The staff is great. Lots to see and do here. I would go again!! The only reason it's only 4 stars instead of 5 is all the noisy people talking about nothing to do with the exhibits (don't care about your personal life Karen) and getting in the way of those trying to enjoy the experience. Shame some of the visitors are ignorant of how to behave in public.

I loved this place so much. Very educational and mind-blowing. I have never thought that I could appreciate Earth and dinosaurs more, but after visiting the museum, I was left speechless. I love it how they have marked original and cast on the display so we can know they are not deceiving the public.

This museum is informative, fun, and immersive without being tacky. It's really fascinating to learn about dinosaurs and see the displays so clearly labeled. There's some interactive play space for children to get more hands on experiences. Also to watch the paleontologists work diligently at uncovering fossils was interesting. There are lockers on site and a cafeteria. No food or water in the exhibit. The gift shop isn't atrociously expensive. My kids enjoyed themselves.

If my memory is correct 21$is for adult. It’s a must place to visit in life time. Abundant history and a lot to learn. If you’re in Alberta it would be a shame if you don’t go. It’s really worth it and please go in the morning, evening would be a little rush. The valley is beautiful but it was closed last time I went.

Amazing museum that we enjoy visiting as a family. Kids always love coming from when they were 2 years old until now (almost 10). Very engaging exhibits to walkthrough. The museum is set up really well where it keeps all people walking in one direction and everything is built using ramps which makes it excellent for wheelchairs and strollers. Each time we visit we learn so much! Definitely recommend taking workshops when offered in the warmer months... We still talk about the casting one!

Fun place to take adults and children to learn about the history of the dinosaurs. Amazing well placed exhibits. Great descriptions. Easy to find your way around. Staff are relatively helpful, but don't seem very happy... I would have given a five star, but the rest room outside the cafeteria was super small and no tissue available in a couple of the ladies stalls.

Good place for kids, very informative and entertaining. It has lots of artifacts and fossils to see. It also has interactive exhibits that could be interesting kids as well as adults. It also has a small gift shop where you could buy dinosaur and fossil themed t-shirts, rings, playing cards, magnets and other gift items and keepsakes.

This museum is worth every dollar. It takes you back and opens your mind to imagine what these animals lives were like. The museum's set up to start in the oldest to newest eras was awesome. From the oldest to newest, with so many specimens and species. Historical facts, pictures and videos compliment the displays. Some show a Trex how they would be attacking prey and eating it. Even sea creatures are represented with one entire room set up as if you are under water. It was spectacular.10 out 10

An amazing place for the whole family. Lots of cool exhibits and dinosaurs to see. Little food court there for a little break. Great gift shop with lots of options for all ages. Playground outside for the little ones to burn off some extra energy. Great views on the walking path. Prepare to walk up from the lower parking lot. Top parking lots are usually full. Great day for kids and adults

A beautiful display of fossils from around the world. The museum has done an excellent job explaining the history and significance for each finding. We came on a Sunday afternoon, there was no wait and we bought tickets on the spot. Expect to spend about 2 hours here going at a steady pace without kids. With kids you could spend 4 hours here easily. There are pretty views of the badlands and hiking trails at the top of the stairs outside. Inside, be sure to check out the greenhouse area - it's tucked away and easy to miss if you're not paying attention.

Haven’t been back since 2005 so it was a fun nostalgia trip. Lots of exhibits and fossils to see. Went on a Saturday at 1 pm and it was fairly busy but not so busy that you couldn’t find parking or couldn’t take single photos without people in the back. Definitely didn’t have to worry about tickets being sold out either. Definitely had as much fun now as I did when I was 10. And crazy enough, they still had the small plush I bought when I was a kid in their gift store. I absolutely loved the dinosaur plush but lost it. It rocked my world to see it again and to be able to purchase and own it again as a part of history.

An Alberta staple! The museum is constantly updating and improving the education and knowledge they provide! I was able to bring some friends from out of the province to explore the fossils and Badlands. Luckily it was not too busy as we went on a Tuesday morning and most of the other patrons were young families. I recommend bringing a water bottle and snacks as they do have a cafe, but it's not in the loop of all the exhibits but at the end. If you're going during the summer pack good shoes and sunscreen! The park around the museum is beautiful but very warm. There was construction at the front of the museum when we went and it was a little confusing to find the entrance but we found it eventually.

A world class fossil exhibit just an hour and a half’s drive from Calgary! This is a must visit if you’re in Alberta, the fossils on display are incredible, showcased in equally stunning environments. The building itself is well maintained, with clean and well thought out interior. Each area is divided based on time period and dinosaur families, which makes the visit structured and educational. There are boards which provide useful information about each species along with self guided tours which you can follow to learn more! Trust me you will be blown away by the Dinos shown in this museum. There is even a gift shop at the end of the path to buy souvenirs and goodies. The pricing is fair for the visit and parking is plentiful outside. Do not miss this attraction, it’s one of the best in Canada!

I made the trip from Calgary with a friend specifically to visit this location. Adult entry is $21, and it takes approximately 2.5-3hours to tour the museum. If you love dinosaurs this place is amazing. At times the exhibits seemed a bit crowded, as though they needed more room. There is a nice informative walking trail outside that gives information about the Alberta badlands. Definitely worth the visit for dinosaur lovers and enthusiasts.

An absolute must-see museum for any museum or dinosaur fanatic. It boasts a great collection with lots of information. A great glimpse into our worlds past. There are interactive stations to keep kids engaged. Restrooms are clean and staff is friendly. There is a big gift shop with an array of different souvenirs to buy. The Cafe has a decent selection of food.

One of the best museums in the world. The collection is immense with many original pieces. The walk through evolutionary time is fantastic. The kids and adults all really enjoyed the museum. Highly recommended. We took about 4 hours in the museum. One child decided to do the fossil casting which added 45 minutes to the trip. She learned s lot, got to hold fossils, and made a fossil cast. It was well worth the $10 ticket, plus one paying adult to have her experience the program.

What an incredible experience! The Royal Tyrrell Museum is a treasure trove of information and history. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that this was a well-curated, thoughtful exhibit designed to engage visitors of all ages. There's so much to see and read that we quickly realized one hour would not suffice. My advice to future visitors: allocate plenty of time to truly immerse yourself in the wealth of knowledge the museum has to offer. Whether you're a history buff or just curious, there's something for everyone here. The kids were absolutely thrilled with the interactive exhibits, while the adults found the detailed information and historical context fascinating. It's a great outing for families, but also appealing to anyone with an interest in paleontology or natural history. In short, we all left feeling satisfied and a whole lot smarter. A must-visit if you're in Drumheller!

Stellar! If you’re big on fossils and history then this is the place for you! I had a great time learning and looking at what creatures roamed the world millions of years ago. The atmosphere and vibe were awesome; appropriate for the setting. I recommend purchasing tickets beforehand, our wait was a tad bit long but it wasn’t a problem. Overall, this is a phenomenal museum that ticks all the boxes, leaving me more than satisfied with my visit.

My first time here and my mind was blown!!!! Wow! The exhibits are very well done and have awesome details about each fossil! The flow of the exhibits is really good! There’s lots of space! The lab are was cool! Totally worth the $21 admission!!!

My son has wanted to be a palaeontologist for years so we went to the Royal Tyrrell Museum to see what he could learn. We paid extra for the small group experiences (one is in the video) and they were worth the time and money. Extensive collection of fossils and beautifully displayed. We made some wonderful memories here and I’m so glad we came.

Amazing Museum. So many thing to see. Saturday morning at 10:10 Parking easy, no lineup. Simple walk around. Could see every exhibit. On the way out at 12:30 so many new customer and parking lots almost full.

About 90 minutes outside of Calgary. Well worth the drive. Amazing landscape in the geographic area! The museum itself was beautiful. A lot of work has been done to educate visitors about the province of Alberta, the artifacts found as well as who found them and when. So glad we made the trip.

This museum was the main reason for our visit , our third time. Came on the Monday after Easter Sunday and it was not busy at all, which was nice compared to our other times here. I am so impressed with how well done the whole museum is, very much worth the trip out from Calgary. I always say I’d like to come on my own and read more while there as my kids kind of rush through! Lots of options in their cafe as well if you have to stay for lunch.

Mind-blowing. One of the best museums in North America I've ever been to. Lots of exhibits and interesting displays, allowing us to spend at least 3 hours to explore. We enjoyed the time and appreciated the efforts and works that all the researchers and staff put together. Worthwhile to make a visit.

Always a favorite place for our family for decades! Glad to share this with my kid now. Great place and the new improvements to the interpretive trail are awesome as well as to the rest of the museum. We did a Dino dig too with them once and it was worth it. Displays the history of Dinosaurs and Alberta very well. We truly are the place where most things dinosaur happened.

Amazing & very unique rock formations. Beautiful place to go for a quick stop. Both view from bottom & top are very nice. Hiking boots or shoes with good grip are recommended to climb up as there are loose sands & small gravels. Went on a Tuesday noon & was surprisingly busy. Only a couple of parking stalls were available.

The scale of the hoodoos looks massive from pictures, which actually is very small. I expected this to be magnificent, but none the less, these badlands are wonderful anyway ! :) If visiting during day, it gets very hot. So ensure applying good sunscreens, wear caps and protect yourself. Consider hiking for better views from top. It is worth a visit if visiting Drumhellar.

Unique and beautiful landscape. We reached here around 7pm and there were very less people on the trail. There are steep climbs on this trail which can be hard but scenes from top are amazing.

We visited this popular place since we visited the Royal Tyrell Museum, just 22 kms northwest. Because of the natural erosion of rocks for hundreds of years due to wind and rain, this geographical wonder looks as if some architects have carved out the mountains and created beautiful designs and sculptures. The sight of unbelievably alluring landscape which has a few sandstone pillars with rock caps and a variety of carvings is stunning; the phenomenal, imposing badlands are inviting and able to exhilarate people of all ages. The metallic staircase is fairly easy to climb, and it provides magnificent alpine views of the eroded mountains. For want of time, we could not explore the trails that lead to higher peaks, but I intend to visit once again to do so. Parking and entry is free of cost at this wonderful, must visit tourist attraction in Drumheller, about 140 minute drive east of Calgary.

We arrived at the Calgary airport and drove straight to Drumheller. After supper we had energy and thought we’d check out the hoodoos. Easy drive from Drumheller, lots of parking available around sundown, a few mosquitoes (bring bug spray if you’re sensitive). It was a nice little walk around the site and very cool to see. My son (12) enjoyed it.

I love this place. You can see the hoodoos from below or go up the stairs to climb around on them. Fun for everyone and okay for little ones. The sunsets here are also unreal!

Must do! Beautiful climbing spaces. Picturesque from every angle. If it's hot, go early. Wear hiking shoes if you want to get adventurous but runners are fine. Actual "Hoodoo" protected space is a bit underwhelming but immediate surrounding areas are fabulous! Kids & adults will love this place.

Nice little trail, easy climbing if you want to get to the top for a great view. The terrain is slippery in some parts as the dirt is loose. Some shoes with good grip would make your descend easier. At the bottom, there are bathrooms, ice cream shops, and a hand-made jewelry and stones shop.

Really cool views of the area of you are able to climb to the top of the lookout but make sure to wear proper footwear. The trail is very steep in places and it's all loose rock and sand so quite difficult at times to get traction. We took the longer way down the back of the "mountain" which was far safer, if slightly less exciting. Views all around were spectacular.

This was amazing to see. We went later on a Sunday, and basically had the place to ourselves. The sun was just setting, and it was beautiful to see. They have a walking trail through it, and you can climb around on different parts. It was like climbing around on one of nature's playgrounds. Really fun!

Such a cool place the kids loved climbing everywhere! Even if you have mobility issues you can still enjoy . It was 2 $ per car to enter however when we went they weren't collecting not sure why. But very cool spot for photos! It is like the "mars" of Canada! Very hot on the hot days it is legit desert! There are 2 dood trcks in the parking lot 1 was open when we went for snowcones!

Came to drumheller to go to the museum, but ended up coming here after as it wasn't far out of the way. There is a ton of parking and the attraction is easily accessible. It's also free to see. These are very interesting geologic formations. I'd recommend this place as long as it's not more than 15 minutes out of the way.

Very good spot. Curious to know it got created and looks like mushroom. It also has some small trail to climb up the mountain. We were short of time so had to skip but yes you can only enjoy the beauty if you walk up the stairs.else from ground it looks nothing special. Natures beauty for sure. We could see some special stones and fossils in those places. Try to search for fun

Great little side stop. There some washrooms as well as souvenir and food booths in the parking lot. For those who climb all the way up, there is a less steep, easier route down which takes you down to the road level a few hundred meters away from the parking lot.

Spectacular phenomenon! Be very careful climbing; watched several people slip and almost fall and get injured from the top. Has nice walkways and stairs to admire the Hoodoo sand formations. Going for sunrise or sunset is a recommendation.

Excited to climb up to the top for breath-taking views. Do geared up with proper hiking shoes given the trail is steep and slippery. Climbing up is still manageable but it takes much longer to get down.

Great place. Nature at the level best. People .. as always: some of them kind, some of them without education. Point 1: read the signs before hiking. Point 2: take ALL your garbage back to the garbage bins. Point 3: enjoy the nature by respecting it. Point 4: be safe while hiking up and/down. Enjoy this monument.

I'm still in awe about this place. The natural formation is really amazing, especially during this good weather. Going to historical places likes this, should never be miss!

Amazing phenomenon! Climbing requires extreme caution; I've seen a number of people trip, nearly fall, and sustain injuries. the Hoodoo sand formations can be admired from good pathways and steps. It is advised to watch the sunrise or sunset.

Earlier this week we visited the Hoodoo Trail. Over the years the change in formations is noticeable and inevitable. Having the excellent stair case installed, bench and garbage disposal nearby on the trail is great and very practical. Although signs posted ask people to stay out of key areas, there is certainly evidence of human traffic in those spots as the snow showed. Another concern is the climbing and consequential wear and tear on a gift of nature. In an earlier visit during the summer, there were a few near disasters of people nearly slipping and doing the great tumble. Perhaps such activity needs to be banned to preserve the area.

This was super fun and affordable! We got here just ahead of a few other families and had the panoramic views to ourselves for a few minutes. You have to climb stairs to get to the t-rex head; it was a good mini workout but could be a challenge for some, particularly anyone with mobility issues. The people in the gift shop and visitor center were helpful and lovely. I'm glad we stopped here! Free parking out front as well.

Parking near the statue is free however they charge for climbing up. No elevator, and I don’t feel spending money for climbing up those stairs. But kids would be interested to and for those who are visiting this place for the first time . There is a fun area for kids and they could have fun.

Paid $5 to go up to the top for a view. Fun little place to bring the family for an afternoon. There's a gift shop and park with all kinds of dinosaurs nearby.

Cool experience for kids. Nice that they encourage everyone to give groups a chance in the mouth on their own. The stairwell has some cool items to look at along the way. What's great is it's right in an area with other dinosaur statues and a fountain area which acts like a wading pool. This fountain gave us a much needed cool down on a super hot day. The Dino experience is quite quick (up and down) but you could spend a couple hours here just exploring and hanging out.

It’s a bit of a gimmick but really didn’t expect much else. The view is spectacular and as you climb the stairs the story of the Dinosaur statue is told. My kids LOVED it.

Was the extra 120km for this worth it? Yes! A thousand times yes! What a sight! What a beauty of human ingenuity combined with our prehistoric knowledge. The whole town is fun to visit so if you get close-ish by do the detour any day!

Great experience with children during the weekend. It's worth the time to stop by and experience looking at the town through its tooth.

It cost $15 for three adults the same price of a family with kids over 6. It wasn't to many stairs so I wasn't tired by the end. The view was nice and they had their own hashtags to use on social media posted in easy to see places.

Bit of a money grab. Five bucks to climb to the top. There are benches to sit on part way up, but it is a bit a of a climb if you're older. Nice views, but if it's busy then be prepared to wait at the top.

Quite enjoyable however climbing up with a toddler isn't fun. We loved the view. The ticket is $5 (and we paid) but we found out it's quite easy to go without paying.

For a $5 donation to local nonprofits, a peek on the inside to climb to the top. I was impressed with the art and detail put in to making the climb itself enjoyable too. There’s fossil replicas, a mini dig site, some more artistic interpretations as well as audio. Our wait wasn’t that long, the actual standing area funnels into a pretty small space so people move quickly. Still a fun pit stop.

It's not well organized for climb up to the top of dinosaur. I paid to got in there was no one to check the tickets. When I came out 7-8 peoples went in without buying the tickets. So why bother to set the price if you're not really care about it. The decorations were nice and I liked it though.

Great place to visit with your family and friends. Lots of picnic space to sit. Tickets for going inside the dinasours mouth is cheap. But you have to wait atleast 10 mins to go in. Inside it has around 100+ stairs to go up. Outside there are water fountains that kids can play. Dinasours look so good and big. You can spend 3-5 hours there. Kid friendly place. Had lots of fun.

It’s man made tourist attraction structure. Free parking 🅿️ spots are available 🚘 $5 per person is the entry ticket. Stairs needs to be climb to reach at the mouth of the 🦖. It is nice view from the 🔝 & good to click the memories. One time experience is recommended, specially with kids. 👍

A used to be five star place, but the bridge was closed during covid-19 and now the status seems forever. Fishing is banned too. Don't waste your time.

Besides its historical significance, the Star Mine Suspension Bridge is a favorite among hikers and nature enthusiasts. The surrounding trails are well-maintained and offer varying levels of difficulty, making it suitable for both leisurely walks and more challenging hikes.

A wonderful historic site. Started being Build in 1931. It's a very neat bridge to cross. At the end (north side) is very cool. You can climb the small mountain to a epic view on the other side.

The bridge is durable and the view from the other side is very good and refreshing. You may climb up the hills to have a wonderful view of the area. The suspension bridge has already been used as a lock bridge. A few have placed some locks on the interlink. Just be careful in crossing and going up and back.

Very beautiful bridge and surrounding area. Just a little bit out of town on the way to the hoodoos. Great pictures of the bridge and sunrise can be taken from the river and also from above on the hills surrounding the area. Make sure to head to the top of the closest hill to get a look at the old wooden structures of past bridges!!

Great place to have a picnic. The walk across the bridge was enjoyable. Not much else to see, really. But do take in the natural scenery when you’re standing in the middle of the bridge, or on the other side.

If you are visiting Drumheller, this is one of the best places you should visit. This is an old suspension bridge, but well maintained. Parking is free but really limited parking available. You can cross the river and can access badlands. Also i was able to kayak too and the viwe from the river was also amazing.

A quick stop for a quick walk over the Red Deer river. It's a suspension bridge so be prepared for the movement. Heavy duty suspension and its well maintained by the government. No charge to use it. Lots of parking. A sign explains the bridge's history. Nice stop especially for a family. I wish there was a snack booth there to stop and stay a while, but without one there is no reason to spend more than 15 minutes here. Location is south of Drum, so if you are going to see the Hoodoos, you'll pass right by this place. Pull over and walk over the bridge, it's a great view and you'll burn off a few more calories.

The interpretive sign above the bridge is really what made this place interesting for me. I've been on suspension bridges before and this one is not particularly scary, though it was a lovely day and a fun experience. Nothing to see on the other side - though based on the few bits of broken glass on the ground, this is likely an evening party spot. There are clean pit toilets here, along with ample parking.

Our whole family enjoyed this walk. My son loved looking down at the river below and my husband and oldest child enjoyed competing to see who could climb the highest on the hillside. This can be a 10 minute walk if you just want to walk across the bridge or you can easily spend an hour hiking around. The bridge can get quite busy so yoy may need to wait to get on.

This is an absolutely fantastic bridge. While it is very simplistic in its chain-link design, it offers a lot in history and character. Crossing the Star Mine Suspension Bridge is an experience in itself. The bridge sways, bounces, and rocks as you cross it and with only suspension as it’s support, it can be quite exhilarating. As you cross the bridge, it gives you a new perspective of the badlands; suspended over the Red Deer river. Lots to explore around the area, which is only made possible with the Star Mine Suspension Bridge. Wonderful bridge. 5 stars.

Here are photos to guide you down the easiest path. There are harder trails but this one is the easiest. We did it with a 5 year old and a 70 year old in running shoes.

Beautiful scenery not so far from Calgary. If you have little kids, I think Horseshoe Cayon is more walk friendly, though.

Another awesome spot to check out. The view is absolutely breathtaking. And you can hike down this one as well. Horse thief Canyon is a must see as it is truly a remarkable site. While Horseshoe Canyon is magnificant in its own right.

The view up here is breathtaking. Very easy to get to and a fun short hike down the canyon. It is only 16 minutes away from Drumheller. It's a must see when visiting the badlands.

It is a very beautiful place, full of history. It's very windy and unsafe to walk here, but overall it's worth your time!

On the Alberta Government website IT IS definitely meant to be hiked. There are inclines for most abilities. Be sure to have good footwear and enjoy yourself :) Superb family day out :)

View with critters. Driving the loop takes you past this point. Wonderful view with a walk down into the valley. Best to have good shoes tho. The little prairie dog are a delight.

Absolutely stunning and no hike required! Convenient pull off the road, and the views are spectacular. Note: there are no guard rails - great for photos!

Great place to go explore! You can either just take a picture, or explore for a few hours. We hiked all the way down to the river and back up to the viewpoint. Really fun to hike around the badlands! Not many people around. It gets very hot so be prepared.

A great place for sunrise. Quiet, and no one around. If you want to hike down to the bottom of the canyon you can, but be careful as it is pretty steep in some spots and wear proper hiking shoes.

Cool Canyon. You could walk down and around quite a long ways. We couldn't spent hours there.

Very nice location for a walk with the family. Not recommend for little kids though! Be prepared to do some serious climbing! Parking is free but the parking lot is pretty small. There are no facilities at this location. The canyon is a 10 min drive from Drumheller.

If you are in Calgary, Drumheller is a must visit (I traveled from Toronto). It’s a 1.5 hour drive from Calgary, known as the Dinosaur capital of the world. Once you reach Drumheller, Horsethief Canyon is just 15 mins drive and it’s free to visit. I read while researching that during the early settler years, horse thieves would take their stolen horses and disappear into the canyon and that’s how the name came about. This was my 2nd time visiting. I love standing at the edge of the canyon - The view is breathtaking and it feels so peaceful just to walk around. We were lucky to catch a pretty sunset there this time. It’s pretty fun to climb down the badlands and explore. I would definitely visit this place every time ☺️

I can't believe this exists in our backyard. Alberta is crazy, mountains 2 hours away from this desert stuff. Going here is like stepping back in time or travelling to Mars. It's literally just off the highway and easy to find. When we went (late March) there were what appear to be temporary concrete barriers up to keep cars from driving down to the lookout point. Not sure if those get moved for the high traffic season, but when they are up it does require you to make about a 1km easy walk to the lookout point. Bring your camera, the view is breathtaking. Looks like lots of cool hiking trails in the canyon and there's lots of prairie dogs popping their heads out everywhere. Careful not to step into one of those gopher holes, there are quite a few. If you're in Drumheller, this is a must see. Slightly better than Horseshoe canyon in my opinion. Do it. It's free other than the gas money!

First time visit to the outdoor amphitheater. What a great facility. The weather was great that evening for the concert. The parking was plentiful and I thought the directing of traffic was done well. I understand the importance of arriving early for the parking. The facility is ongoing some nice improvements and yet is still a beautiful scenic backdrop. The outdoor wood bench seating is ample. Some people might enjoy bringing a cushion to sit on. The facility washrooms are very clean and comfortable. The beverage options are great for alcohol and non alcohol options.

Ten stars! Seeing a performance of The Passion Play at this unique outdoor venue offers a refreshing reset from the distractions of modern-day life year after year. I truly appreciate being immersed in the surrounding natural landscape of the amphitheatre. I equally appreciate the amount of volunteer commitment it takes to deliver this wonderful performance. This year’s play had me laughing unexpectedly, reflecting on the life challenges of individual characters and cheering the strong female lead. A standing ovation review from me!

The Canadian Badlands Passion Play is worth seeing every year as it changes up and explores the life of Jesus in extraordinary ways. Also the venues that they put through are absolutely extraordinary! Being outside in the Amphitheater able to listen to some of my favorite bands is such a gift. I enjoyed it immensely!

The location of this place is absolutely amazing! Being right in the badlands and also able to watch a concert is such a cool experience. The whole place is built super well, and the buildings are awesome to look at!

This is where the “Passion Play” is held in Drumheller, Alberta, Canada. This is a very unique site with natural acoustics.

An amazing play done to scripture in one of the most beautiful natural amphitheatres in Canada. You won't be disappointed by this presentation. Most of the actors are volunteer and put in a lot if energy to truly immerse you in the story.

First time ever!! Wonderful experience. Unfortunately got rained out in the middle of it. Nonetheless great overall experience with the family. Great story, production and actors!! Pictures were taken before the show as photography, there after, was not allowed.

Interesting little place, some good old machinery to poke around if that's your thing. The "Underground" tour isn't all that though. For the cost you basically get to climb ten storeys through a sketchy wooden boardwalk then go about five metres into the entrance of a mine that's blocked up. The train ride is only about 400 metres too. On the plus side, the guides were good. They delivered some interesting information and made some passable attempts at tour guide humour. All in all, it was an interesting few hours but probably oversold at the current prices.

It's a very interesting place to look around. We're from UK touring around some of Alberta. There are 4 different things you can do, just walk around the lower area, book to go have a look at the mine, go on the train (it wasn't running when we were there) or book the operational tour. Whatever you do you will need enclosed shoes. The guides seem very helpful(we didn't do a tour). You can spend quite a while looking around. This, I think, caters more for adults than young children. We had a good time. One thing I would say is that it would enhance the venue if they incorporated a small café of some sort. This would bring in funds for the project and would help towards any restoration work that needs to be undertaken.

What a wonderful experience. We wanted a road trip from Edmonton and were looking for something different than the dinosaurs. We spent about four hours here and were not disappointed. We only registered for the train tour because that was all that was available. It was worth it for the experience of riding in a real old mine train and the information and stores from our guide . For the rest of our time we just wandered around on our own, talked with the guides who were free, and read the signs. The area of the site that you can visit is not large but the tour guides are phenomenal. So much knowledge and passion for mining history in Alberta. Bob is a real gem. What a precious opportunity to learn about our past and understand a bit better how we got to where we are today. And Sara, who gave us the train tour, was so great with the kids. She got them engaged and has a talent for speaking to all age levels respectfully. Definitely recommend visiting this mine if you're in the area.

Waste of time and money. Cost $53 for a family of five to walk around a boneyard of old broken down rail cars. There’s only three buildings to go in and not much to read to learn about the history. The only cool place was the wash house. The train would have been fun but it’s an added cost and only runs a few times a day so we missed that opportunity. Same with the guided tours. That’s the reason we went and there were non available. Don’t go.

Highly recommend this place! We did the mine portal tour followed by the train tour. Buy tickets in advance for fast check-in and to ensure you get a tour. Our guide was amazing! Personable with the adults and kids. Informative and fun. Loved the addition of the helmets. Those complaining about how you don't go into the mine tunnel very far need to read the website. The website has all the information you need and then some (kudos!) Train ride was also good. Don't forget your water bottle!

Interesting place and some interesting history. We went there at 4 pm hoping to ride the train but they said we missed the last one. Also they were finished with the tours for the day. I recommend going in the early afternoon. But I still enjoyed what I could see and do there.

We had a lot of fun here. The train ride is a truly beautiful experience! A real train that was used to transport miners and haul coal. Although it was loud, it was a wonderful experience. Very close to the Hoodoos, so we did both at the same time. Great experience.

From the moment we were greeted at the counter by Michael, we had an amazing experience. We decided to do the train ride tour (with Sarah) and the mine entrance tour (with Kale). The tours were both worth it. Bill used to be a miner and was very knowledgeable and fun to talk with as well. Sarah operated the train and made the experience fun! Kale worked with us on the mine entrance tour and took time to show us everything. The prices for the admission and tours were incredibly reasonable and high value for the experience and service. To top it off, we even encountered an endangered bow snake. (Don’t be put off, it was far removed from the trail and we observed from a distance. They’re not poisonous)

What a place! As a homeschooling family we seek out these types of places,& this spot is filled with so much history, it's got info all around to explain the buildings, as well as tours that will keep you grasping for the next part! Prices are great, and it all goes back to this historical place! It's one of those places that we will enjoy going back to again & again!

Outdoor walk around the site is free!! We did not have time to do any of the tours you need to book in advance and cost a fee. We were able to see a lot and read info boards to learn a few things about the mine's history. They offer a variety of guided tours.

This was an interesting piece of history to tour, the train ride, while great for little ones, was nothing to write home about but still, you get to learn a bit about the train, go for a brief ride in a coal car and it's generally pretty fun. The self-guided tour of the site was informative, there's signage to read with facts about the mine, the workers and the companies. I was most impressed with the Wash House personally. We would have loved to do the tour inside the mine but my son isn't 6 yet (min age) so something for another time. only 1 complaint and that was that there only appears to be one bathroom on site at the entry, so with having a toddler with a small bladder it was a bit of a pain to go back to the site entry to take him and then go back to where we were in looking around. it would be nice if there was a washroom or a portapotty near the midpoint on the site. otherwise a great experience!

Kale the train driver was great. Informative and great involving the kids. Must add the train ride it’s worth it. We can’t wait to go back when the kids are older to do full tour. It’s already in the plans

Simply amazing!! My family and I rode the mine train which was really fun and our motordriver Brandon was really knowledgeable and fun. We heard a lot of cool stories and interesting facts about the coal mine which is always fun. Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a fun activity.

The Atlas coal mine is a hidden gem. It is a must see when visiting Drumheller. Located around East Coulee, this tour goes in depth to the machinery, the daily lives, the logistics , and historic buildings that made coal mining in Drumheller. Our tour guide Charlie was an absolute gem to have for the two additional add on tours. They were informative, funny, professional, and witty. If you go on a tour and have Charlie as your guide, you definitely get your bang for your buck. Be prepared to dress according to the weather and to have water to stay hydrated as 80% of the tour is outside. Definitely a must-see!

I went on the mine portal hike and tipple tour with a young man named Charlie as tour guide, extremely interesting to learn the history and see the coal plant and also with Charlie as guide made this experience worth the long ways out and cost he was very funny and full of information and left nothing behind on detail. Great place to walk around and explore and feel the past. Charlie made this place feel exciting but also explained the hazards and cautions around us very well, spectacular man and super caring and well at his job! I recommend for trips.

Delivering cars to the other side safely and slowly. Seriously though, this is the slowest ferry I have ever been on ..... but I loved it. Nice and relaxed. Highly recommend when your in the area.

This is a great way to experience a cable ferry and the ferry captain/driver was humourous and super happy to show how the ferry operates. You're allowed to get out of the car, quickly take a peek over the guardrails to see yourself atop the metal contraption being winched across a fast moving river, them quickly hop back in so you can drive off and let the oncoming cars board. Best part! It is free to use this service and the mini adventure is totally worth the driving time / detour.

Absolutely fabulous little piece of history. If you are interested in finding all the little gems around Alberta, this is the perfect spot. The ferry is quiet and lively at night and a delight to travel across. It was slower than I expected, which gave us a great view of the water and sunset. The ferry is also free, so if you get the chance to go, you should!

The Bleriot Ferry joins two sections of the North Dinosaur Trail (Highway 838) as it crosses the Red Deer River from Kneehill County on the west, to Starland County on the east. It was built by Andre Bleriot] commissioned in 1913. It runs just 105 m/344 ft and is free of charge. Open April to November. I've always wondered why they don't build a simple short bridge. Maybe it's kept up as a fun tourist attraction. There is camping nearby.

Fun little add-on during a trip to Drumheller... a manned ferry crossing the Red Deer River. It is one of the very few operating ferries in Western Canada.

Just a convenient treat to cross here. Recently improved road on the north side and a beautiful and peaceful 10 minute ride.

It's the cutest little church I have seen. It's has small benches to sit as well. Small and cute. Pretty near to the royal tyrell museum. No entry ticket is needed and it's right off the main road.

This must be the smallest operating church I’ve ever been inside. Pretty cool with the drumheller hills behind it. This was build by the drumheller inmates and has served 10000 people 6 people at the time. The door is open and you can sit inside and worship if you’d like. Please be respectful as this is a real church. huge parking lot behind it and afew benches to sit outside. I’m 5.8 for your reference.

this is one of these attractions that doesn’t look like much. But once you set foot inside the little church you understand why this is a must see attraction in Drumheller. All it is is a small church in the middle of nowhere, where are you can stop for a few minutes and meditate? Opry? Either way it is such a breath of fresh air for those who want to see something different and at the same time connect with our spirituality. Next time you go to DrumhellerPlease make sure you stop by the little church.

Such a cute little church! I can't believe how small it is. It's in a good and accessible location, there's a small gravel parking lot right beside it. It's the smallest church I've seen and it's a cool tourist attraction for sure!

Like the name suggests, a pretty little church, which was made with a dream to seat 10,000 people, 6 at a time! Was worth the visit here. It wasn’t too crowded, so we took a trip up the hill and when we got back we got the church to ourselves! Very calm and soothing location and the church itself is a vibe! Parking is available right next to the church and since it’s just on the side of the highway, no large deviation is required. Nothing much to see here that’ll take over 30 mins, but if you’re driving to Drumheller, it is a must see sight along the way!

A tiny beautiful church and it can only accommodate 6 people at the same time. Parking could be done at the ground behind the church. Very near to the museum. It’s in an open space and no need of buying any tickets.

As a first-time visitor to a church that can accommodate only six people, I found the experience quite intriguing. The fact that it is situated in a pleasant area added to its appeal. Overall, it was a wonderful and memorable experience for me.

Make a stop here if you are going to the Royal Tyrrell Museum. It's worth the extra 5 minutes from the museum. The church is apparently still active today. It's amazing how this place came abouts. I love that they trust people enough to leave the place open. It's just one room with pews on either side. However, I imagined it served its purpose. Parking is in the gravel area nearby. While we didn't explore, I suspect there are walkways and paths to hike in the area. Also, it's across from a golf course so there's something else to do nearby.

Such a cute little church! It’s located very close to the Tyrell museum and it’s a nice and free thing to check out. There’s a patch of dirt behind the church where you can park. Came here around 8pm on a weekday and there was no one else there. This is a very nice place for photos and the inside of the church is so nice as well with stained glass windows. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area, you won’t regret it.

A به small church - like it literally fits six people. For those of the Christian faith it'll be a place that holds more importance than for others but nonetheless cute.

Well today is absolutely one of the highlight days of out whole 6 week road trip. This museum is truly amazing and the owners have done a fabulous job! They are 2 of the nicest men that made the experience so much better! We were star struck Trekkie Nerds! So freaking cool!! This museum is a MUST SEE! Everything here are Actual items used in many movies and series as explained by the curator/co-owner who also worked closely with many of the actors over the years and walks you through parts of it and tells you the history and stories to go along with many of the items! Truly an amazing experience we will cherish forever! There is no other museum anywhere that allows you to touch and hold actual authentic movie props used in movies and tv series! I can't believe I actually held Commander Data's Phaser! Thank you Mark for that .. I actually teared up!

Excellent museum. The owners, Michael and Devon were super accommodating. Michael was our personal guide through the exhibits, and his passion for their collections was obvious, but also well informed. He appeared and disappeared, so we had time on our own. Anyone who has any interest in any of the Star Trek TV shows or movies will find this place as being a great place to go. They also have exhibits from other well known flicks; some of which were filmed in southern Alberta. This museum is a wonderful addition to the Drumheller tourist attractions as it is completely different than what the majority of the attractions are about (dinosaurs). Air conditioned, very clean and well laid out. Add it to your list of things to do. Live long and prosper.

The owners of this place clearly love their job and it shows in all the best ways. This small museum has many interesting pieces from Star Trek voyager and tng. They also have a few items from other movies/shows that have been filmed in this area. The owners are extremely knowledgeable and give a background and full story on every item they own. Place was very clean, well lit, and over all welcoming.

Loved it!!! The museum guide (a person, not a book, just to be clear) had tons of interesting stories. It's not JUST a museum for star trek lovers, but it's much more enjoyable if you are. There were little sections for harry potter, the titanic (real and the movie), and other things.

Great hole in the wall! Amazing content in the museum, props used in movies and shows that you can actually touch! Great staff! Staff pops in on you to provide stories that immerse you into the artifact. Truly amazing. Especially if you're a Star Trek fan.

This place was amazing . The curator was great he knows his stuff. Has actually been on these movie sites . You can touch some displays . I might even go back tomorrow . Price was very reasonable. Trekies will love it. I sure did . Thanks again for a great time.

Loved this place! Staff was extremely friendly and very insightful! I highly recommend seeing them and it wasn't busy when we went as it is the winter and we got our own personal tour! Thanks so much for the great experience!

I went with my 7yr old and 10yr old. They each paid $32 for full package (admission / fossil digging and mineral mine). This place is very overpriced. Agreeing with a lot of other reviews, this place is small, and not really worth it for adults. It has this horrible cheap plastic smell in the whole museum, I’ve stayed there for a little over an hour and it gives me a headache. The playground, as others mentioned, it’s just like a playground from McDonald’s, it’s extremely small, and my 7yr old complained that it’s dark and creepy so he didn’t wanna play. My seven year old was also not very comfortable because the dinosaurs are roaring every second… Now why I still give it 4 stars? Because my kids had a lot of fun. I may not understand why, but I know they are very happy to ‘dig’ fossils and minerals. Even now we got home they are sorting the stones :) so .. I guess it’s worth it =p

It was OK. The kids enjoyed it. Way to expensive though. Paid almost $200 for 4 kids and two adults. You don't have to do the activities like the mineral mining and the bone dig but once you get in there and the kids see the activities, because it's all open and the kids can see all the fun things to do, then they beg and beg and beg to do it all and you're out a bunch of money. Interesting stuff but for the price and the info I'd rather just go to the museum for half the price and all the info.

We absolutely loved it here! I went with my 4 year old daughter and my mom, and we did the fossil dig and the mineral hunt. The animatronic dinosaurs were amazing, and my daughter loved the play structure inside and had so much fun doing the fossil dig. My mom and I enjoyed helping my daughter with the mineral hunt, which I feel is better for kids a little bit older than 4. The gift shop was reasonably priced, and the staff was super friendly. We will definitely be back

Another informative museum in the town. I would recommend Royal Tyrell Museum as it’s quite big and has different species sample, however, this one was good too.

It's fun. The animatronix are cool. They offer 2 activity for an extra cost - dig your own fossil and mineral mining. It's not too big though, not much room to explore. We paid $30 for a family of 6. In excess of that you have to pay extra unlike Tyrell museum - $48 for a family of 6 (5 yrs under are freeand of course, it's not comparable to it...but overall we had fun. The giftshop is really loaded with interesting stuff you can't fi d elsewhere, even at Tyrell Museum.

Seen the signs when they were building the place, finally got a chance to stop in! Very cool. Well done on the animation of the T-Rex, my daughter was 2.5 took her a while to walk up anywhere near it! If you stand and stair into its eyes it's eerily haunting!! Their geode collections is phenomenal, I heard either the employee or owner talking about having to travel to Madagascar for certain rocks. I'm not a rock person but that's dedication! They did a wonderful job and it shows they love their establishment.

Took our 5 & 7 year old son and daughter here. We spent roughly an hour and a half inside. Don't get the larger gem container for $2, it will take you forever to fill. The inside is quite small but the search for gems and the dino dig will keep your little ones busy for at least an hour. It wasn't the highlight of our drumheller visit for the kids, but it was worth the visit.

A bit pricey for how small it is, but I can see how the animatronic dinosaurs are driving the price up, and my kids loved them. We weren't in there very long, we did the gemstone search. We were a bit put off at the very start that for my husband and I to help our young kids search for the gems to fill their vials, we had to pay an extra $2 each. They upgraded the size of 2 out of the 3 vials we got, which I didn't notice until we were in. In the future, please never change 2 out of 3 kids vials - either offer to upgrade all or don't bother - kids fight over stuff like this. A warning to any parents worried about chemicals on sensitive skin: the water in the gem digging containers understandably contains either chlorine or bleach. I'm sure this is a great thing for public safety and cleanliness, but there is no signs alerting people to this and a few in our clan with sensitive skin came home with a rash that we could only attribute to this. (Only on the hands/wrists, we didn't use any new soaps or lotions, etc.) Anyway, young children may become quite bored with the gems and give up easily so I'd recommend paying the extra for the privilege of assisting your kids find the gems they've paid to find or you'll have paid $7 (+$2) for a small plastic vial with a few rocks in it. We definitely loved the gift shop, though. It definitely has a much better selection than the RTM. I didn't feel very welcomed by the employees by the time we were done selecting our purchases, though. We had 3 young kids with us, each with money gifted by grandparents to purchase souvenirs on our trip. We were trying to look at the overwhelming amount of fossils and cool things in the store and it took my kids awhile to decide what to buy. On top of that, I was selecting 2 larger gift items for family members and also was there to pick out what I wanted for myself. My husband was trying to usher my children to stay together and cause as little commotion as possible while we were there, and we are very grateful that the woman behind the side counter was so lovely to them as they chose items and changed their minds. Keep in mind the store is packed with amazing finds and even my kids couldn't decide what to bring home. I walked around the entire store probably 4-5 times trying to help my kids find things then selecting each of the 3 larger items I was buying, and again, the woman behind the side counter was amazing and even showed me her favourite piece - an Agate Slice that looked like the ocean. It was a perfect choice for one of the gifts I needed, and I'd already selected an item for the first, which she wrapped up as I looked for what I wanted to buy. As I was finally deciding between two or three pieces, I was approached by not only the young gentleman who was at the main till when we entered, but also a woman who I assume is the owner. I explained exactly what I was doing to each, and after I finally brought up my items to pay, the lady I suspect is the owner came over and was flustered in her rude interrogation of the woman who had helped me while she was trying to choose a display stand for the agate. As an afterthought, I realized the owner may have suspected we were trying to steal items in that we were pretty distracting and I went back and forth a few times, but solely due to the last part of the experience, I don't think we would return. The main attraction pieces were fun to see once but I don't think we'd go back anyway, and how well we were treated while spending $400 in the store just didn't sit well with me.

What an excellent little gift shop, so many artifacts and gifts. Knowledgable and friendly staff. Lots of gifts for the kids. Best of all, ice cream! A great stop when visiting the largest Dinosaur in the world.

Lots of room, handicap access, elevators and lots of places to sit and rest between exhibits which are breath taking. Our second time here, I'm 68n my wife 66 and this is our grandson second time here as well he is 11 and he loves it. The outdoor trails are easy and have different trail walks to suit your ability. A must see!!!! Place

Loved being able to go down in the canyon, but many people were walking off the track... Please be mindful, nature is sensitive and the path is there for a reason. It's accessible with a stroller or to anybody able to walk down hundred of stairs

Nice place to explore. Amazing that you can walk all around. Save some energy for the walk back up to get out. Hiking can be as easy or as hard as you want to make it. Make sure you have a hat, water, and sensible shoes. (Visited Sept 2023)

Amazing, Beautiful views of the badlands. The hike down & up is steep, wear good shoes but the trip to the bottom is worth it. Hike is great for the whole family, my littles (4, 7 & 17) all enjoyed it. You can explore to your own comfort level, it’s hot at the bottom so I would recommend water & a hat. Amazing spots at the bottom for a picnic, you can easily spend 3-4 hours at the bottom

Such a beautiful area to go for a hike! The landscape is so unique and interesting. The views are beautiful, especially with the stairs. It is a bit of a steep walk to get in and out of the canyon so I definitely recommend wearing good shoes and bringing water. There’s lots of parking and there were little to no people when I visited on a weekday. Definitely recommend checking this place out.

This place is stunning. Parking costs only $2. Don't forget to wear sunscreen and bring water.

Good views from the top of the canyon, right across the parking lot. $2 to park. It can get hot during summer with no shade except for one covered area with benches. You can hike further to a couple of viewing areas or all the way down into the canyon, if you do, don't forget to take water. Good for kids upto the first set of stairs leading up to the viewing deck ( see pictures)

This was so fun to explore and see! I did the entire loop and took my time to appreciate nature and this fascinating part of nature. Even with a decent amount of people here I still was able to enjoy this peacefully and at my own pace.

Winter is dead season so I was the only one there. Huge parking lot to park. But the shop was closed, which I think sells food and drink in summer. Amazing look out view tho. You can see the whole canyon there. And there are afew trails to go down if you like.

Great place for easy hiking, and gives out a magnificent views over the canyon! It was a little smoky when I went, but it was still unbelievable! If you want to venture into the canyon, make sure to bring water and appropriate shoes!

Great trail to hike, easily a fan favourite spot to check out if you're in Calgary area. I would highly recommend seeing it at the night given the chance, if possible. The stars are immaculate with little to no light pollution. Would love to see it again. It was amazing, and I would gladly tell people to visit here if they've got the chance to.

Had a beautiful day trip to the canyon and enjoyed a walk about with great weather that day. New improvement have been made for lookout decks and safe entrance into the canyon. Upon arrival was surprised to learn $2 parking fee for future improvements and maintenance. They are definitely using the fee to better the area for visitors. There is a new campground onsite with a convenience store. Had purchased ice cream and played some corn hole .

Will be back next year to spend more time hiking in the canyon. $2.00 charge for parking now. It's a stunning place, just ask Clint Eastwood, he filmed a part of "Unforgiven" here. Not a lot of shade here so dress appropriately and bring lots of water to drink if your there in the summer.

Amazing nature of Canada According to the description at the sign, the age of this canyon is 1-2million year younger than hoodoos in drumheller. This canyon may not look magnificent as other Canadian nature. Scenic and good place to take photos here

Great little hike/walk. Just one hour away from Calgary. Surprising no one was there today, we started early. We were just casually walking with our dog, couple of great lookout points. Saw couple of prairie dogs, some birds. Peace, calmness and tranquility is amazing!

A fantastic hike, it was a like being in a time machine. The different layers of sediment told a story of the past few million years. Definitely a great family experience. Make sure to take plenty of water with you, it has its own micro climate and was very hot when we were there.

A great hike through time. There are several lookouts to the canyon and you can hike in the canyon itself. The main path is short and should take about 1 hour but you can explore further in the canyon and "choose your own adventure".

Very unique & beautiful scenery throughout. It really feels like a dinosaur place or an alien landscape! It’s an easy hike. The only moderate part is at entrance to get down to the canyons so you need good hiking boots or shoes for this. Trails are very spacious. You can walk around and see the whole place in about an hour but we stayed for about 2 hours to climb as much canyons as we could to have better views. Went on Monday & it wasn’t busy. Lots of parking with washroom. Biking is not allowed. Bring plenty of water as it gets really hot.

Visited during Xmas time. Was great to walk around and see the history of the school and they had many things to entertain the kids. Update: Did this again and was fantastic in 2023. Fantastic treats, apple cider, and live entertainment.

Interesting and informative. It was quiet and no other guests so we were able to tour around in peace. Lots of trinkets and small things to look at, a lot of local Alberta history in a quiet place

The only place to hold REAL dinosaur bones... So me and my nephew came to visit this place to learn some of the history of the area. My nephew is 9 and this was the highlight of our trip to the Drumheller area. He asked about how haunted the school and about the kids who went to that school back when it was running and the ladies working there answered all his questions. They were so informative and lovely! They absolutely made his day. But what's even cooler then the history of the school and seeing how people lived in olden times is the fact one of the locals donated dinosaur bones he had found years ago on his property that the school displays and even let's you hold! Unbelievable! We held real dinosaur bones. Stop by here and take the tour. It's a really amazing educational experience.

I loved coming here to tour around the school. It truly provided a unique opportunity to see the world from not so long ago past. I would also recommend to visit "Treasures on Centre" for Kelly Krueger's beautiful glass work! Thank you so much! I will be back!

Simple museum with a lot of charm. Didn't anticipate our kids having nearly as much fun here as they did! Basic painting/colouring was offered, then the kids pretended to be teachers for an hour or so; all the while loving the idea of "strapping" their misbehaving dad. Very kind staff and a quiet venue to spend a couple hours.

Nice little cafe/tea room The lunch special is Turkey or ham per made sandwich, drink and dessert for $10. Could have more food section.. it’s not a tea room or there was no local tea to pick from … need more homemade meals … We did not do the school tour …. But the school was not busy with tours … More information about the tours needs to posted on social media about this hidden gem in the badlands… The gift shop could use more local small business gifts for sell …

Love the "old day playground"! There's actually a newer playground just right across this Museum. Kids can experience what their parents or grandparents used to play. My daughter love the slide! Inside the Museum, it's not big but good enough to feel the school in the past. There's even a room full of Coal Mine information. Gift shop is must see! There're some old books for sale which you could find some great books there! They also sell pretty lamps and soul stones.

This gives you a bit of ancient community structure and in school . I like how the boys and girls were separated, the classroom was tidy and makes you feel that time

Nice well preserved museum with a little cafe inside. Informative peice of history and nice to see how the miners kids went to school but my 3 &5 kids were not overly thrilled. I would not go out just for this but if your going to the mine which is close by not bad for a quick stop over

A amazing display of the history of coal mining is shown throughout this old, beautiful building. There is also a delightful tea and lunch spot inside.

Wow, what a great historical site to visit. If you are visiting the town of Drumheller and you have the extra time to visit this museum I highly recommend it. Provides a great snapshot of Alberta's small town history.

Eclectic place that we checked out on the way home from the Royal Tyrell Museum. The service was a little slow and the cinnamon buns don’t have icing but the coffee was decent and there was a lot of items for sale.

It's one of the must see places if you like history!

Very nice museum in Drumheller that's been there for many many years and it's a little Hidden Gem that are not a lot of people know about..... the local people that made this Museum possible did a fantastic job....

Very cool collection of antiques, separated into themes/rooms. Antique cars and farm equipment, medical equipment etc.

Interesting to go through the places they have set up . A step back in time During the summer they have an outdoor theater, dinner and a play . Very well set up .

Interesting place to see! Good for kids as well to see and learn about the pass. Yes some of the items are similar to things in other Antique Museum, but at the same time, we can learn that how each part of the country have their differences and similarity. Most important is, it got great collection of different themes in 1 museum!

It was a great experience, kids will enjoy the museum. The life-size dinosaurs are amazing, lots of reading, too. There's a fee to access to the museum, but it's worthwhile. On the other hand the landscape of the park is breathtaking, the mild steps of the stairs make it easier to reach the top. Once you are at the top, you will see the surrounding areas as if it was intentionally put it there. Beautiful and you will thank the mother nature for this blessing.

Interesting place with a good fossil collection. There is some technology within the exhibit, but it could definitely use a "technology upgrade" to make the interaction more interesting. The fossils go way back, and the exhibit appears to go back about 25 years. 😉

Come visit a cool place! Many sites to visit for a day trip! Great walking exercise or bring your bike and ride some trails. I recommend for a weekend getaway... Enjoy! Watch out for the roaming T-rex! Haha!

Amazing Alberta provincial park located next to the town of Drumheller. Very accessible to all visitors. Home of the Royal Tyrell Museum as well, amazing place to experience the prehistoric history of the province. Park includes many paved and gravel walking/hiking paths, as well as trails for bikes as well. Lots to see within the park boundaries! A must see if visiting the area.

If you enjoy well presented and interactive experiences while learning about the past, this is the place for you! We spent hours inside the Royal Tyrrell Museum itself and was very impressed with the top notch quality of the entire museum. The dinosaurs on display were very well done: details to presentation and information were well thought out. I personally was extremely impressed with the excellent video animation presentations, created specifically for the dinosaur museum exhibits by the most excellent, "Kurzgesagt" animation specialists. Also, the interactive displays were really intuitive to explore and engaging. 6 stars out of 5 for this place!!!

It was a bit windy the day we were there in September 2021, but it was still very impressive. We also visited the Dinasour museum. Great day!

On the way of Royal Tyrrell Museum we visited Midland Provincial Park for some time. It is part of Canadian Badlands. This has mushroom shaped landscape. It is picturesque. We want to spend more time in future in Midland Provincial Park.

The Tyrell Dinasour Museum. Is a credit to Drumheller. The display is world class. And to see these Dinosaurs 70million years old having been found in Alberta . Incredible.

This place is so much fun and educational. The variety of fossils and history is buried and preserved. Royal Tyrell Museum is the main attraction in this area, and everyone should visit it.

An incredible experience. It is really beautiful to see, not only how well structured the nature is, but just to think that there was dinosaurs living there is just amazing. We went on September month and the temperature was perfect. We did a little of off-road and the view was beautiful, we could feel how magical this place is. I definitely suggest to everyone !

The area is so interesting. The drive in feels like an amusement park ride. We did the family Dino stomp tour and it was great! We explored and found fossils.

I personally love this place. It is about an hour and half drive from Calgary City. One of the best places on the earth to see the bad lands and dendrite landscape. Different layers of the earth can be seen here. This is a place where tons and tons of fossils have been found and continued to be found every day. You can be that lucky person if you take a walk and closely observe at the rocks found in this belt. There is training option as well if you are interested to become a fossils scavenger / volunteer with the research team to find out more about the species that existed millions of years ago. Website was highly misleading as it did not list any prices for the museum and so we naturally believed it was free. Upon arriving, staff was very short with my friend and I and not welcoming in any sense. When we saw the admissions sign include a price, my friend inquired into why this wasn't on the site and the staff scoffed at her. The gift store was extremely hot and uncomfortable to be inside. We liked some of the items inside, but staff was watching us intensely which made it uncomfortable to shop and converse about items in the store. We didn't go into the museum so we can't comment on that specifically, but the heat in the store made it unbearable to be inside so we left.

Very disappointed. Drove over 3 hours to visit this place and it doesn't exist anymore. Lady at what is now a key cutting place said they didn't know how to take it off Google. 🙄

Very cute and nice to see if you like dolls! Staff could be a bit more pleasant and welcoming.
