Great city tour with a guide. Lots to experience, walked around old city, medina, leather working, weaving places, usyal market stalls. Very good, worth paying for a local guide as you get more out of your visit.

It’s a busy place so if you’re expecting to get pretty photos without others in the background, you’re in for a rude awakening. We snapped our selfies and then just marvelled in the beauty and detail of the craftsmanship. It’s really a sight to behold and a fabulous way to enter the Fes Medina. HIRE A TOUR-GUIDE IF YOU HAVE A BABY. or don’t go to the blue gate more than once😂. On the first night we arrived in the late afternoon, we wanted to just explore but stay close. We went by the blue gate…. I would say 3 times and were incessantly hounded to have tea and to hire a guide over and over and over again. So much so I wanted to leave…and just stay in the hotel. It wasn’t after we hired Ahmed who was born and raised in the Medina… when he was next to us NO ONE tried to ‘help us’ or even asked us to buy anything.

It's one of the ancient gates to enter the Mediana Market. The uniqueness of this gate is one side it's green color and the other side is the red color. It's just too crowded when I visit. They have lots of Shops selling morrocoan traditional wear and foods.

It's one of the many beautiful gates entering the old medina of Fez. Great places to savour local food around this area as well as enjoy tea on numerous rooftop terraces to enjoy the medina.

The markets were unique to anything I have seen this far. They have anything you could want from leather items, to clothing, to food. I personally did not have any food however I did buy many goods which of the goods i bought seem to be fair quality. There were also many historic sites while you go through the markets.

We enter into the old city of Fez through the Bab Bou Jeloud. Inside you will see the Jewish quarter and the lively souks. The tanners' quarter was an enriching experience seeing how the leather was treated and the equipment used. The entire process created a real life artwork of the tannery operation. You can feel the traditional Arabian atmosphere from the shops, the architecture and the wide array of fascinating merchandise.

It is the entry to the old city of Fez, the traditional food is great, but a bit dirty! Prices are all over the place! You need to have an idea and negotiate a little.. In general..Fez deserves a one night stay in the old part of the city

No idea why anybody would want to come to this hucksters hangout. Supposedly one of the 'great features' of Fes, but it is essentially a market of cheap tat and tacky souvenirs. And it's not even that cheap - you can buy the same stuff downtown at even lower prices. Also - it smells

Actually fantastic park previously but nowadays there is no water in the pool or any water canal or any other small pond or pool. I don't know why, maybe due to water shortage, global warming or something. However park is still relaxing and away from city rush.

The park is located near the Jewish quarter and it can be the great place for break. There was no water in the lake neither in few canals. The garden is huge with amazing exotic flora (and few cats :) ). It is very clean with lot of banks for the relaxing.

Great place to spend morning or afternoon to get away from hustle and bustle of Medina. Perfect day is to spend a couple of hours here exit from main gate to go to royal palace and then to Jewish quarter. We missed to include synagogue and continued to go along a tree lined boulevard with cafe and restaurants on both sides. Took back taxi to Medina for 25 dirhams

Awful. Bad maintenance. The police walked behind us. You can not do anything. Not a single fountain on nor clean, there is trash around, the artificial river has no water. The artificial pond is full of trash. The police scolded the children for picking up a random stick, looking at ducks and there are no signs for anything. If you do not have anywhere else to go, you can spend your time there. Everything is "la la la" which means no. The police don't understand french nor spanish nor english. Un parque con mal mantenimiento. El lago sin agua, las fuentes sucias y apagadas, áreas cerradas y el policía se la vive silbatándoles a todos. Si vas con niños no lo recomiendo porque no pueden pasar a las áreas verdes. Solo es un parque para caminar entre los gatos.

Nice place to walk around and enjoy the nature. Beautiful little man made lake with lots of seating around to enjoy the scenery.

This park is definitely a must visit on your trip to Fes. There is a wide array of vegetation and the way the park is layed out is very beautiful. Sadly all the water related elements were out of use. As around 20% of the park should be covered in water this is a real shame.

We literally stubble a pon this spectacular garden, very peaceful just to chill enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, and the lovely presentation of the garden, we especially enjoyed the man made lake. Would highly recommend a visit if you are in fes. All I would say is if you are a single female, be careful of your surroundings and who is standing nearby.

This garden is pretty good but it does need some more maintenance done to it. When we visited, it was a really hot day and walking around the garden felt much cooler than walking around town. I think it's worth seeing if you're around

Nice shady manicured area to walk around. Aviary with some pigeons and chickens only. Toilet available. Sadly only half the fountains are working and the lake is empty but still a pretty area.

Great garden to breathe outside the "Souk". This place is very well maintained by kind workers. It's fresh and beautiful. I suggest to take a break there during the afternoon when is too hot to walk inside the Medina.

Amazing to see but loses a star for the hustlers. Do your research on how much to pay before buying anything! It's also highly recommended to go as part of a tour so you don't get hassled to smitherines.

This museum and historical building contains old and nice instruments, including shelfs, arms, doors, music instruments, toys. The interior is amazing too. And there’s a rooftop with amazing views for the city. You are not allowed to take pictures of the instruments.

An interesting example of Moroccan inn architecture, with much of the interior decoration consisting of wood, which I imagine is the reason why they opted for converting the building into a wooden arts & crafts museum. Other than the building being attractive in itself, there isn’t much to see in the museum except items which can already be seen quite often in today’s actual Morocco (doors, door frames, everyday objects, wedding gear etc.). It is however an enjoyable and tranquil visit, best taken when you’ve got time to waste or hide from the rain (personal experience :))

Woodwork in Morocco is true art, so it was wonderful to learn more about the history and see the variety of artistry. Pretty little rooftop cafe with simple refreshments amazing view of the city.

The museum is inside Fes Medina, takes about 30 minutes to see the whole place. This was a place was designed to be used by trades, a place to store their goods. The wooden exhibits are quite interesting.

A very pretty handicrafts museum focused on woodworking. The building is as interesting as the pieces exposed. Explanation in English and French is provided. Don't miss the laws and judgements written on small pieces of wood on the top floor. There's a tea room on the roof.

We paid 20 dirham per person, we arrived for opening. The museum is two floors and a terrace, it’s quite beautifully preserved. If you want to enjoy a morning coffee and a view of the city of fes, did is not a bad place to do that! We definitely enjoyed our visit and recommend it to anyone visiting this city.

Requested a Moroccan breakfast without seeing a menu. We weren’t sure if this was actually a rooftop cafe or just a lady being really nice to us but she did not fail. Best view to have a hearty breakfast to.

Great museum. Actually might be one of the best places to visit in Fes. Great information about wood craftsmen and history of Moroccan woods artizanship. Not only the artifacts inside but also the architecture of the museum is very impressive too. The entrance is very cheap, 20 dirhams for us. The rooftop contained a little cafe with some drinks.

A beautiful, recently restored building with a lot of history. Exhibition is minimal and mainly focused on Woodward and it’s craft. The rooftop is really cool and you can see a lot of the Medina from there. For 20dh this is worth the trip.

Was interesting enough to visit. Our tour guide took us there. There are a few floors with several rooms showcasing various aspects of ancient Moroccan life like tools used for farming, architecture, etc. On the rooftop they have a cafe.

The building was recently renovated and is simply astounding. The tools snd woodwork exhibition was also great. They kept a small selection of items which successfully display the level of craftsmanship at Fez. It took us about an hour to go through the entire museum and have a look around the terrace.

This place has a long history and you will find it in Wikipedia. The place was less crowded so we got to enjoy the beauty and listen to our guide about the history and architecture. The courtyard has a fountain which makes the place even stunning for photography. We were able to head to the first floor to see the tiny study rooms and catch the view from above.

BouInanian Madrasa and Masjed Is a typical famous Islamic monument, it has a feature "water clock" I don't know more about it. But I enjoyed the architecture of Madrasa, and using of mosaic with stone and wood. Tickect is for 20 Darhim (2 euros) and 15 Darhim for group. Enjoy!

This is a 13th century residential school. First of all you're charged 20MAD to enter. Inside there is a big courtyard where you can appreciate the handmade work done centuries ago on stone and wood which decorate the walls and floor. You're also allowed to wander around the place and into the upper floors where you can see the ancient miniscule student rooms. All around the place you can appreciate the art and craftsmanship put into all the details on wood and stone from the floor to the ceilings. Worth a visit if you're the kind who appreciates this architecture and culture.

Intricately detailed carving, which was truly magnificent to see. It was lovely to be able to enter a mosque as a non-Muslim and without having to be covered. The people at the door are helpful. It’s 20dh entrance and for that you only get to see the courtyard, but it’s still worth it.

The Place itself is stunning. It's architecture is really pretty, and absolutely worth a shot. It costs 20dh / person, so I think it is a bit too much for seeing only the inner space, but it's still worth it.

This may one of the most intricately detailed madrasa/mosque I have ever seen. It is just one courtyard and the cost of entrance is 20 MD ($2), I would pay $25 to look at this beautiful courtyard. It will take you many hours to drink the intricate work. I have never seen anything close to this artistic work anywhere. Go on a sunny day clear day.

The world's oldest degree-awarding university which has seen many famous scholars pass through its doors, which was founded by a woman. The mosque/university is still functioning as a place of prayer and formal studies and is only open to Muslims at prayer times (students come here for the odd lesson). There is a raised platform area where women can pray, which gives them a view of the wide courtyard and the interior of the mosque. The interior is magnificent and very, very clean. Very peaceful place in the heart of the old city and one can't help but think about the history of the buildings and those who visited it before.

Though unfortunately closed on Friday (Holy day in Morocco) but standing right beside the oldest university (longest running one) in world is so unbelievable… at least peeking through the crack of the giant doors give you a glimpse of this historical place of superb architecture… and how lucky it is to be a cat..

I don't understand why non muslims are angry here? It's a place for muslims to pray and to learn The Holy Quran. It's not a museum or a turist place. we got to go to this tannery from the workers' entrance probably by mistake because we asked the workers to help us with the way :). It was a really up close and personal experience and we were given mint to smell but I didn't mind the smell. In any tannery if you want to see the beautiful bright dye colors, go in summer! in winter the dyes used are usually white or a shade of brown.

Very beautiful!! The smell is very (!) strong even with mint but totally worth it (bring a mask).. The old way of making leather is right infront of you and its very fascinating and interesting. I recommend getting help from the locals getting there and explanation about the leather treatment.

Hard work... not chemical, not synthetic items. All process work with naturel items and hand made. Start with cleaning finish with product. Coloring with saffron, mint oil etc... You can take photo some leather shops terrace, they open after 09.00. Prefer 10.00 - 15.00 o'clock between. May - September have a hard smell but all pots have colorfull.

No one mentions the horrible smell that starts even before you reach the tannery. I understand how leather is made just not why places like this are mentioned everywhere as a "must see".

If you find your way over here, you can certainly pay someone to take you around inside, rather than only on the terraces of the leather shops surrounding the Tannery. If you do go in, be prepared for a bit of muck and an incredibly strong smell. Not for the faint of heart! The adventure inside was certainly worth it though. I got to see some amazing parts of the Tannery that most would not see. Look for the signs shown below in the pictures to help you get there, I've even posted a picture of the entrance. You will need tonpay someone to take you around inside. Be sure to negotiate the price before heading in. Highly recommend giving this place a visit!!!

Look for shop N10 (see photos for reference) to go up to the terrace and have a good view. We were very wary of anyone who tried to talk to us, and we were quite lucky to have met Jamal (the guy in the red hoodie in the pictures I've posted) - he didn't force us to pay for anything and was very friendly throughout. You are free to watch the tanneries from the balcony and can purchase goods if you feel like it. I personally feel that it's fair to tip them around 10MAD but you're not obligated to. Jamal made me feel comfortable with going in and when exiting, he wasn't expecting any tips as well. We tried to just enter from the gate itself, where we were very up close to the tanneries (first floor) where workers are walking around. The smell is very very strong, I'm very sensitive to the smell so I was gagging the whole time. A mask or a scarf would help. There will be a lot of people who would offer you to go to their terrace but after we did some research we went up to N10,

Definitely worthwhile visiting to learn how leather is treated and dyed. You go to a leather shop and climb up the stairs to the 3rd level and go to the balcony to overlook the process. It is a coop where workers only work 3-4 hours because of the fumes and chemicals. There are numerous leather shops surrounding the tannery area. naturally then you go back in the shops where they sell everything make from leather. The prices are very good and you can get custom jackets.

In this tannery I had my worst experience in Morocco. DON'T SHOP HERE AND DON'T FOLLOW ANYONE FOR ANY REASON. Just go in (it's 100% free), take look around, ignore people, and get out! At the entrance I asked if the visit was free, they said yes yes and gave me a five minutes tour with a very quick explanation of how tanneries works, then straight to the shop. Everything was fine and everyone was smily up to this point. Their starting prices are absurd and they later lowered it to less than half, but that is normal all over Morocco, as you are expected to bargain to the death. But when I told her that I had to think about buying a bag or not, the lady began to bully me into buying it, angrily repeating that 30 € is so little and there should be nothing to think about. When I decided to leave without buying anything, she began screaming for her male colleague and telling me that I had to pay a tip for the visit. Remember? The one they told me it was free! I went to the exit as fast as possible and got out of there. Unbelievable. I met so many kindhearted Moroccan people, but not in this place.

One of the four remaining ancient tanneries processing and producing animal hides. You are given a stalk of mint to mask the smell which comes from the rotting pigeon faeces which contains amonia that is used to soften the hide. The faeces are collected from pigeon farms. Great photo op here of man working on the hides in the tanks. In the 2 level shop, the final products are displayed from leather jackets ranging from MAD2000-4800, to slippers, bags, belts and wallets. Good quality. The leather jackets made of goat hide is super soft and many designs and color to choose from. If you like leather stuff, you will end up walking out with something. Prices are reasonable and bargaining is a must.

We went there with our guide and it was really cool. The people there was really friendly and helpful, answering all the questions we had. We didn’t buy anything and that didn’t matter for them, really cool people. Strongly recommended to go!

Much better than the tannery in the center of the Medina, larger and a lot more work going on. That said, the ammonium smell is also more intense. The entrance is very straightforward and easy to find: Just walk down the little street along the river on the eastern bank, you can’t miss it. From the hides, hanging over the reeling outside, you’ll know you’re in the right place. Hiring one of the friendly guides hanging out at the entrance is recommended. They’ll show you around and help you find the stairs up to the terrace as well as your way back. A 20 Dirham tip per head for a quick 15 minutes tour should leave everybody happy.

Enter a leather shop and go to the top. There, you'll have the perfect view of the tanneries. Afterward, you may stroll around the shop and look for some good quality and well-made leather pieces (price matches the quality). Some shops may offer you some leaves to smell while you're out dealing with the bad smell of the tanneries: accept them, and they are free.

Does not smell as bad as they make it out to be did not need mint etc. worthwhile to see but also kinda sad to see that people are forced to dip their feet in chemicals to eat a living. Took photos which I will share but not proud of it

Really nice place to learn about how students live in Morocco in the past. It worth to spend your time walking through the different rooms. Also, try to get a view out of the windows. This experience is also fairly pricey with 20 DH entrance fee. Just be aware that most of the people trying to help you finding the Al Attarine will ask you for either money or bring you to their perfume shop.

Absolutely beautiful building! Sadly it was really crowded when I visited, but i definitely recommend it. Apart from the breathtaking wall decorations in the central courtyard, there are several corridors and rooms that you can explore, with great view from the third floor on the neighbouring mosque and the city.

An amazing building just next to Mosque and University Kairaouine. You will see amazing details wherever you look. The up stairs provide an interesting view of the upper part of the mosque. You can see the rooms where students used to live.

A must visit. Beautiful. Open to non-Muslims, just make sure you respect the prayer times. The entrance is a bit off the Main Street, make sure you go around several times so you don’t miss it. It was one of my favorite sites to see in Fes.

This was a beautiful complex that showcases the city’s famed mosaic tiling and the beauty of Arabic religious calligraphy. One could also see student dormitories from its days as a Quranic school. We visited Fes during Ramadan season, so it was one of the only historical houses of worship open to non Muslims. Would definitely recommend.

The Al Attarine Madrasa is a 14th century school for Islamic studies in the heart of madina, Fes. It was used to house students who came from outside the city. It's a magnificent structure, built with multicolored mosaic tiles, marble, wood, carved ceramic tile. Every bit of the structure is just beautiful, one can spend hours appreciating them. It's the most beautiful structure in Fes.

If you are only visiting this city, then it’s a must see. If however, you will be in other cities, there are far better kept/ more important Madrasas to be explored. Highly recommended to do so with a guide.

It's a nice place to visit. At first, I got confused where the entrance was 😅. But anyway, the architecture is great, really worth to visit when you're in Fes. You can also take pictures from the second floor.

Worth the visit. A university with dorms showing how it was an institute of learning. Rich with history and fabulous architecture. Great views from some of the dorm rooms.

It was 2 euros per person but one of the few places we entered while visiting Fes. Beautiful architecture and stunning examples of the Fes tile designs. Would recommend to those visiting Fes. It was fairly crowded as several tour groups stopped in when we were visiting but overall worth the effort.

A must-see historical place built in 1323. It's a Madrassa and has boarding for the students those coming from outside Fes.

Nice place to visit and apparently not very popular during the day. There were only a handful of people. The view is amazing. It's maybe a 30 min walk from the Medina And even if it is not the most pleasant walk along the road, I think it is well worth the effort as you will get different views on Fez and the surrounding. There is also an alternative off-track path which is not on any map. There was no harassment or begging kids along the way however I would probably not recommend to walk it alone during the night.

Some truly amazing views from the top. Takes about 30 minutes to get there once you're out of the Medina. Good to see some restoration work going on too. Make sure you take plenty of water with you. It's such a shame there is so much litter and hardly any bins, think I saw one on the way.

Graves of the Marinids, there was a palace previously but now only some ruins. Actually you can see all Fes medina from the top. If you don't have too much time in Fes it is not on your list. There is nothing to see or visit. If you have enough time you can visit sometime for see the panoramic view of the Fes.

Beautiful view across the whole city from this location. The ruins themselves are very interesting too. It is recommended to take a taxi to the top, the hike was quite long and exhausting. It was also very hard to find the right path to the top.

Do Not miss this place at any cost!! This an amazing place to get a 360 degree birds eye view of the Fes Medina. Walkable distance from the Bab Boujloud (Blue Gate). There is a bit of stairs climbing but easily doable. Went there before Sunset and it was mesmerizing and breathtakingly peaceful and magical. You will find local people selling tea coffee and pickles etc. No stalls though.

HIS WARMTH AND KINDNESS WERE EXCEPTIONAL. NOT ONCE DID HE PUSH US TO MAKE A PURCHASE; INSTEAD, HE SHARED STORIES ABOUT THE CITY'S CHANGES AND NEVER SOUGHT ANY FINANCIAL. I DIDN’T GET A PHOTO OF HIM, BUT I DID CAPTURE A MOMENT OF HIM WALKING – A FLEETING GLIMPSE OF GENUINE GOODNESS. IF YOU HAVE THE CHANCE, CONSIDER SUPPORTING HIM – A GENUINE GEM AMONG THE LOCALS.

What a beautiful place. Went there in the morning, sun on the back, comfortable weather. Fantastic place to spend some time and sit quietly. Loved it.

Great view of the city. Only 5 minutes drive from the nearest Bab (door). Make sure you get a taxi driver to come and stay with you as it’s not easy to get a taxi back (unless you want to walk). It shouldn’t cost more than about 40 for them to come back for you in 15-20 minutes. Probably nicest to go at sunrise / sunset!

Worth going here for the history, view and sunset. We decided to walk up from the medina and it was a nice, safe walk there and back.

The tombs themselves are not much, but it is the ideal place to watch the sunset with a beautiful view and escape from the busy city.

Amazing to see but loses a star for the hustlers. Do your research on how much to pay before buying anything! It's also highly recommended to go as part of a tour so you don't get hassled to smitherines.

This museum and historical building contains old and nice instruments, including shelfs, arms, doors, music instruments, toys. The interior is amazing too. And there’s a rooftop with amazing views for the city. You are not allowed to take pictures of the instruments.

An interesting example of Moroccan inn architecture, with much of the interior decoration consisting of wood, which I imagine is the reason why they opted for converting the building into a wooden arts & crafts museum. Other than the building being attractive in itself, there isn’t much to see in the museum except items which can already be seen quite often in today’s actual Morocco (doors, door frames, everyday objects, wedding gear etc.). It is however an enjoyable and tranquil visit, best taken when you’ve got time to waste or hide from the rain (personal experience :))

Woodwork in Morocco is true art, so it was wonderful to learn more about the history and see the variety of artistry. Pretty little rooftop cafe with simple refreshments amazing view of the city.

The museum is inside Fes Medina, takes about 30 minutes to see the whole place. This was a place was designed to be used by trades, a place to store their goods. The wooden exhibits are quite interesting.

A very pretty handicrafts museum focused on woodworking. The building is as interesting as the pieces exposed. Explanation in English and French is provided. Don't miss the laws and judgements written on small pieces of wood on the top floor. There's a tea room on the roof.

We paid 20 dirham per person, we arrived for opening. The museum is two floors and a terrace, it’s quite beautifully preserved. If you want to enjoy a morning coffee and a view of the city of fes, did is not a bad place to do that! We definitely enjoyed our visit and recommend it to anyone visiting this city.

Requested a Moroccan breakfast without seeing a menu. We weren’t sure if this was actually a rooftop cafe or just a lady being really nice to us but she did not fail. Best view to have a hearty breakfast to.

Great museum. Actually might be one of the best places to visit in Fes. Great information about wood craftsmen and history of Moroccan woods artizanship. Not only the artifacts inside but also the architecture of the museum is very impressive too. The entrance is very cheap, 20 dirhams for us. The rooftop contained a little cafe with some drinks.

Nicely restored building, showing us the instruments and materials of trade done in Fes in past times. Beautiful pieces. From the rooftop you can have a glimpse of the city while taking a cup of tea.

A beautiful, recently restored building with a lot of history. Exhibition is minimal and mainly focused on Woodward and it’s craft. The rooftop is really cool and you can see a lot of the Medina from there. For 20dh this is worth the trip.

Was interesting enough to visit. Our tour guide took us there. There are a few floors with several rooms showcasing various aspects of ancient Moroccan life like tools used for farming, architecture, etc. On the rooftop they have a cafe.

The building was recently renovated and is simply astounding. The tools snd woodwork exhibition was also great. They kept a small selection of items which successfully display the level of craftsmanship at Fez. It took us about an hour to go through the entire museum and have a look around the terrace.

A nice big palace with an interior garden and a small collection of artifacts. Posted explanations are very light, but there's a guard in every room who's happy to answer questions. There were hardly any visitors when we came, so it was nice and quiet.

Excellent food. Friendly service. Reasonable prices. Had lunch once and returned for dinner.

The museum itself is a nice palace with a beautiful and quiet garden. The exhibition of old pottery without any descriptions available in english isnt really worth the visit.

Lovely museum but a great disappointment as the renovations continued for more than 4 years till this day. One of the main museums in Fes, yet they taking all their time much more than necessary, I believe they would just change and say permanently closed.

A palace in disrepair, but fascinating. It's a place that is rich in unknown history. Makes you think what happened and why hasn't it been refurbished. If only the walls could talk! Worth visiting to see what happens when the tides turn.

It is a hidden jewel of Fez. It is completely original without restored, the architecture, the art...everything is amazing. Not many tourists there during my visit, I guess it is not in the top lists of tourist attractions. The guardian Mr Abdou is an artist with his Galary inside the palace. It is a very nice Galary. It is the best experience of my visit in Fez.

Unbelieveably beautiful and surprisingly empty - we were only 2 people in the whole place. The guardian working there is a very kind man that is an artist and you can find his paintings inside some of the palace’s rooms. Don’t miss this spot if you’re visiting the medina! Entrance is 25 dirham

The palace is very interesting. Artists live in the palace and try to maintain it. The price of admission is used for maintaining / restoring the palace. The entry price includes a guide. It makes sense to have a guide given most of the palace is not open to viewing.

Received 20dh per person. The guide led the explanation, and the pattern of the wall was related to Muslim religion, which I was not particularly well known. It was not a bad place to visit.

Just as others have already mentioned, this place is not maintained at all which is a shame because we can tell that behind all the grime and dust is an old beautiful building with a lot of history. The price of admission by the man at the door is way too much for what you'll find inside. Definitely not worth a visit.

Truly authentic. The sad castle off the tourist track tells a story of past glory. The caretaker uses the entry fee to restore the palace one room at a time. Gives a true sense of how the elite lived. We were the only ones to visit that day and loved every minute.

Visiting El Glaoui Palace is a trip between the history of a family and discovering the life and art of his owner. The palace, probably one of the oldest in town is fatiscent, without any facilities and in some point unsafe. But for these reasons is fashinating and incredible. 25 dhr

Stunning palace without the tourists. Probably the best kept secret in town. Definitely worth visiting. The gatekeeper is also an accomplished artist and exhibits his paintings in one of the rooms.

For someone who is interested in pottery and ceramic this is a place to visit in Fez, we visited as a big group to understand the entire process and it was very educational. They have a vast collection in a big room and you would want to buy a lot but found it on the expensive side. If you are not planning to walk around the streets of Medina for some plates I would suggest buying it from here.

It's definitely worth a visit to see how the actual make some of the items very impressive shop we had a short private tour of every aspect of the studio workshop. They even had a small coffer shop onsite that is a good idea. All items are made by hand. They are many items in the shop to suit everybody's budget.

Walked to the gallery and met Mr. Ahmed (the owner) ... who was very helpful and cooperative. Shared with us some lovely art pieces, which we loved and bought. Must visit Art Gallery... do it without tour guide ... towards non rush late afternoon phase. Get yourself a good deal too. Do make Moroccan art a part of your home... Lovely, Gracious people !!

Went here with with a local guide while touring the city of Fes. (Last week) It is beautiful to see the way they create the pottery and ceramics and it is a place worth seeing. After the tour we went to the shop and decided to buy 4 cups (2 different types). They claimed all the pottery is dishwasher safe and microwave safe. After using them one time and going through only ONE wash in the dishwasher, 2 cups have many cracks outside and inside. Also those 2 cups are a lot heavier than they were before washing (100% sign that they retained a lot of water while in the machine). Please check again the quality of the products you are selling (afterall they are quite pricey and you also claim a lot about them!). I will add some pics where you can easily see the damage.

Great place to visit to get to see how hand made Moroccan pottery is made. I enjoyed getting to see the process from start to finish on display for everyone to see. The guide was kind and knowledgeable and the artisans were happy and eager to share their work with us. Beautiful pieces - the shop is a bit pricey, but good quality and nice to know where the items actually came from. FYI you can haggle down the prices a bit, especially if you buy more than one item.

We visited rt D'Argile in late April and were absolutely mesmerized by the intricate work done by the artisans and the beautiful finished products. Zouhir who works there, is extremely knowledgable and was helpful in showing us around and purchasing a customized fountain, large plate and Tagine. The purchases were shipped seamlessly to other parts of the world and arrived in perfect condition. I highly recommend visiting this fascinating 'factory' to hear the stories of the artisans, understand the intricacies involved in creating all the different potteries and Zellige (mosaics) and if something appeals, then to purchase.

BEWARE OF SCAMMING!!! My brother & I were traveling on a tour in October & it was right after the war started in Israel & there were not a lot of tourists. I was trying to be kind by making purchases to support this business recommended by our tour guide. I special ordered something that came 2 months after the guaranteed date and it was literally 1/5 the size I paid for and ordered & DIDNT EVEN WORK. I brought it to a technician and they said there was no way to fix it.When I contacted them, they tried to scam me in making another payment to get what I had originally paid for! When I refused, I received many messages demanding that I allow them to send me another one for payment. I refused. I made a formal complaint with the credit card company & the tour company, although judging by how they handled this, it is obviously something common that they do. So sad.

The showroom has the best collection of ceramics we saw anywhere in a three week tour of Morocco. They start out very high on pricing, at least double what they are prepared to take, so be prepared to haggle. Some of the larger pieces are not pristine, I bought two that each have very slight scratches likely acquired in the showroom. Shipping was prompt in a sturdy wooden crate, no damage. I only wish I had the time and money to return and buy many more! If you are interested in classic large Moroccan pieces and wide variety, go here.

I want to thank you for the goods we have received via DHL. The goods ordered are exactly as we ordered them, and the quality of the goods purchased is superb. I attach a photo of the teapot set I am drinking Moroccan tea from as I write this review. It is prudent to mention that the tea tastes excellent from this pot. The mint doesn't burn or create an aftertaste. I think it's due to this high-quality Fes Clay. We are pleased with the experience, and I will contact you to purchase a more miniature teapot. Don’t buy anything as it’s over expensive. Same quality and material is available in Medina or in other cities at half the price. The sales lady was saying we can give 10% discount but don’t buy that, and negotiate. Unless you get half or less of stated price, don’t buy. Designs and variety is good but not worth the price tag. Great experience to see people doing the craft so worth visiting.

Outright scam - don't buy here! Our guide in Fes took us to this place to show pottery and artisan work, convinced us this place is a cooperative and then led us to buy the ceramics. I paid at least thrice more than the normal rate in the Medina, after a supposed 20% discount!! I found it expensive, but thought I was supporting local artisans and also that it was a proper establishment and not a street side shop to bargain a price. The worst part is this. After we had paid the bill and been successfully conned, we decided to buy coffee at a coffee counter in the store. The person who was showing us around, we assumed was a staff of the cooperative. We asked him if he would like to have a coffee when we were buying for us. He said yes, and asked the lady to bill us a coffee for him too. And once we paid, told us he will have it later! So after paying over thrice the price for the ceramics, we paid for a coffee this man didn't have. It turned out that he was the owner of this establishment. Not content with looting us on the products we bought, he also let us buy him a coffee from his own shop. Duly getting us billed for that too! How much lower can someone go! Left us a very bad taste on Fes. You expect a street side vendor to fleece you, but when a large set up does it, with the owner himself doing it, it hurts all the more! More so when your guide sets you up for this.
