Probably one of the best beach places to be on Barbados. Not to crowded in the middle. There you should also go. Don't go on right or left side. Beach lounger incl an umbrella was 15$. So fair pricing. Do not pay 5$ for one coconut but say you want two. Guys might walk away but will come back. 5$ is way to much and they know it🙂

Like swimming in a bath. Clear water, sandy beach, tourists and locals chilling. What could be nicer. Lots of fish so bring a snorkel and goggles.

Beautiful white sand bay with crystal clear calm water which was perfect for the kids to swim and snorkel. We were approached by one of the beach vendors who was keen for us to go on his boat to see the turtles and ship wreck, he was friendly and not pushy about it, so we went and had a fabulous time - saw three turtles and snorkelling over the wrecks was amazing - so many beautiful fish, and the wrecks are so shallow you can see so much. They provided the snorkels. Most places along the beach if you pay for a sun lounger will also have wifi available which was also helpful for us.

Lovely clean sand and plenty of sun beds and umbrellas to hire. Bars and cafes behind and service at your sun bed, decadent but rather nice. Close to Bridgetown too, so if you arrive by cruise ship and only have a couple of hours to spare, then this would be ideal

Tbh I preferred pebbles beach in lots of ways.. Carlisle was busy when we went on our boat trip, early on Sunday morning after the horses it was quiet but so quiet that the bars and amenities didn't even seem to be noticeable..this would have been about 9:30/10am Sunday.. even tho we'd made our own way to pebbles earlier in the week I'd used Google to direct me as there was a quicker route from our accommodation tho it (as it does often) landed me on Carlisle beach rather than pebbles as requested.. There were a few families there early and it was obvious that some congregated there but as a tourist having a wander and enjoying the surroundings, I definitely prefer pebbles over Carlisle.. I'm rubbish and failed to see any fishes or anything else tho my daughter had spotted flying fish on our last visit and there were several fishing as I walked past

Beautiful beach. Be careful not to be ripped off by the snorkel tour guys- haggle with them! But nice opportunity to see the shipwreck and turtles. Savvy on the Bay is a great spot to get a drink, have some tacos and take a break from the sun.

Fine white sand, awesome warm blue ocean, grills cooking and drinks flowing up behind the beach. Laid back vibe, good time.

Nice beach. Lots of activities to engage in. I wanted to get on a boat ride but i unfortunately couldn’t due to time and some other factors. You get too see local around you can have chats with and ask for directions. Water is crystal clear too!

WOW effect!! expecially if you love free diving and snorkeling... There are 3 different shipwrecks less than 100m from the beach. You can easily find them looking where are all the people from organized tours. If you are able to take deep breath, take it and enjoy the inside of shipwreck!! there're a lot of in&out passages

This is review of Distillery Tour at top of the island not the Visitor Centre in town which we found confusing before booking. Wonderful tour with an in depth insight into this working factory. Started with a rum punch on arrival. Romal our tour guide was knowledgeable and humorous which made for a fun tour. Interesting to see the focus on sustainability on site. The tour didn’t feel rushed and we enjoyed the tasting session at the end! Noteworthy point is that we could purchase some bottle items on site but the main shop is located at the visitor centre in Bridgetown, not at the Distillery. Also transportation to the Distillery was included from our accommodation.

Our tour guide could have been a Rhianna stunt double, great knowledge of how Mt. Gay operates in respect to making the rum. Being from Louisville KY we had many questions in the process. We got a bottle of Ponche Kuba creme to take home as it's not available in the states. Great history, great cocktails included in tour as well. We went early on a weekday so small group and no wait

My wife and I did a tour and tasting at the Mount Gay Distillery. It was a short cab ride from the cruise port. The distillery Visitor Center was nice and simple. They provided us with a very tasty rum drink while waiting for the tour to start. Our tour guide was phenomenal. She was funny and very informative.

My rum tour experience was great, I went as part of a birthday celebration. Overall, an informative & fun experience however, The best part to me was the personal cocktail making session👍🏽. After the tour, dinner was also nice, would recommend the experience because it was value for money.

Lovely tour with a quick video about history of Mount Gay, very informative young lady running the tour with a good sense of humour and got to give praise to the v tasty welcome rum punch! The tasting itself was not just delicious but v interesting. Overall great fun!

We arrived late due to traffic but the staff was able to reschedule us so we didn't miss our tour. We had booked the basic tour and tasting, which costs about $25. We had a signature rum punch drink while we waited, and there was a kitchen serving delicious food. The tour starts with a small museum which details the history of Mount Gay and then there is a little movie to watch. That's followed by a tasting of four of their rums. The tour guide was very funny and entertaining. The rum was delicious. Afterwards you can hang out and order more cocktails or do some shopping in the gift shop. It takes about an hour and a half to complete the tour

We went into the visitors' centre expecting an old still, some historical photos and a gift shop. There was all that but the tasting experience with such entertaining and knowledgeable guidance was quite a revelation. Rum, I thought, was pretty much just rum. However, being guided through the tasting if several different Mount Gay rums revealed a much more complex world to explore. Educational, tasty and good fun. Well worth a visit

This was not the expected outing when my hotel put on a visit to the mount gay distillery. It feels like a warehouse in the port district however it was better than my expectations. Being met with a welcome drink was lovely. Got a lot of great initial info in the beautiful library. The tour was well-paced and Romal had great energy and knowledge about the distillery (and is quite funny). There was a great combination of history and modern functionality. What a fascinating process and how curious no recipes are written down, and that there is essentially an apprentice program at Mount Gay! Also the rum tasting itself was a treat! One guest called Romal a 'hero' for his ability to articulate our tasting experience before we tried the rums, plus the tips he gave us for when we drink moving forward. I would love to do the lunch tour and cocktail making tour ASAP.

Really enjoyed our visit. This is not the actual distillery (that is further north) but we learned a lot from the video and from our excellent host. And of course we enjoyed tasting four different rums. The on site shop had lots of choice and did seem to be a bit cheaper than the airport duty free.

We did the Mount Gay rum tasting tour with lunch. The tour was nice and informative I certainly learned a lot more distillery process. Our tour guide Zariah was friendly and very knowledgeable about the process. The buffet lunch was excellent and delicious we had the mashed breadfruit with the mango Glazed wings and curry rice.

Our awesome taxi driver brought us here and stayed with us. We decided to go here as the distillery was too far for us. Mount Gay Rum was present at the Puerto Rican Rum Expo several weeks ago. We were able to get a tasting and a celebrity was actually present. Pictures were taken.

Amazing private tour of the distillery for our family who.have enjoyed Mount Gay for 4 generations. Tina made our event one of the highlights of the trip to Barbados. Wonderful day. Would highly recommend.

Great tour, highly recommend. Romal was very entertaining, knowledgeable and made it fun! Do plan your visit, can be traffic out the main cities/town and they are strict about the clothing you must wear, keep in mind!

Worth the money! We were greeted with a 8 oz glass of special planters punch while we waited for the tour. The guide was a standup comedian and the history was impressive. We tasted 4 rums from white to XO. Then we had a delicious lunch with a beef stew and fried calamari in sauce, rice and beans, Mac N cheese, potatoes, salad, and great chocolate cake and ice cream for dessert. In case you needed more rum, a small list of fruity rum drinks were available for $5 US. We really had a great time!

My favourite place on the island! The staff are superb, the atmosphere and music is brilliant, the menu is varied and excellent, and the whole place has such a great vibe - what’s not to like! They offer a package which includes use of the beach etc, but I can only comment on the restaurant area. The waiting staff are brilliant, being always on hand on proactively getting drinks when needed. They keep checking up throughout your visit without being intrusive, but equally always there when needed. The menu is huge, with a great range of snacks, sides and meals. The portion sizes aren’t small so getting a filling meal is easy and everything I tasted was fantastic - cooked and presented well with great flavours. While it’s not hard to work out, it’s nice for the menu to display both US and Barbados Dollars next to each item and in general the prices are normal and reasonable for the island. It’s a colourful environment, with a great atmosphere, and I could easily spend a whole day here and can do nothing more than recommend - great place!

Fun! I’ve been snorkeling with sea turtles on other vacations but I wanted to make sure our kids did as well. We took the bus to the Boatyard on our recent Barbados vacation mainly to ensure we could snorkel with the turtles and see the shipwreck, and this option was more value money wise than some of the excursions. We were able to easily get chairs and umbrellas and sign up for the first boat ride of the morning. The one worker for the boat trip was kinda rude and snarky but the rest of the staff were all awesome. We were provided with a snorkel vest and gear so if you don’t already have that it’s no problem. They also have a spot to leave valuables while you are on the boat. We only saw one turtle but he was right there with us and I felt like we had plenty of time. After, the kids had a lot of fun on the rope swing, trampoline and slide. There were some waves the day we were there though. The food was pretty good and we had plenty of credit in the card they give you for all of us to get what we wanted. For my underwater pictures I used an AKASO Go7000.

Great place to spend in the beach. They give a drink and a transportation back to the ship (if you are in a cruise). There are a lot of amenities. Chairs and Umbrella, jump from the pier and there are slide in the beach. Very good service. I enjoy a lot.

Great day out... $60 with $45 food / drink credit for adults or $40 for children with $30 credit. Free sun loungers / WiFi / boat trip to see the turtles etc. Just be warned they get very busy so you need to time when you get drinks and food as it can be a 60mim wait, but hey Ho your on island time. Would visit again

Very much worth the price. Had an amazing day. I especially enjoyed the shipwreck snorkeling and swimming with the turtles tour which I was pleasantly surprised was included in the price. Also the two happy hours were well appreciated and utilized 😊. Lovely facilities will definitely return soon

Came as a cruise passenger. For $35 you get a beach chair with umbrella and are able to go on the boat to snorkel. I saw a sea turtle and a small shipwreck that was very cool. For the price it's a very nice deal. Service could be better and the people could be much friendlier but if you ignore those two things and focus on the ocean you'll be good. The taxi to get there is $5 a person and the shuttle back is free.

Read a few not so good reviews on tripadvisor. I didn't think it was bad at all, I really enjoyed the day at the boatyard, we were returning from a cruise and had a few hours to kill. Wish we could have stayed longer to be honest. Loved the beach and seeing the turtles

Great atmosphere, for $35us you get 2 chairs and an umbrella on the beach and a snorkle tour to see turtles and a wreck. They also have a floating slide and trampoline. Small parking area. Staff is friendly and great. Can't beat the views.

Fun place to hang out for a while, if you have some time to kill and want to be on the beach and have food and cocktails. Lots of options here, and seems to be filled with mostly people from cruise ships.

Came here 23yrs ago with the military and loved and now have returned on a cruise with the wife and we both loved it. Be prepared to spend money as it will cost approx £35 each for a sun bed and brolly and a free drink but the beach the inflatables and the bar and food are everything you'd want. Love this place.

Loved this place, great vibe to the place. Well worth the money, lounger and umbrella, complimentary drink, free ride back to ship and the highlight was the boat trip out to swim /snorkel with turtles and over the shipwreck. Really friendly and helpful crew there. Thoroughly recommend.

The food is great, beach Is great and our kids love the activities. The reason for the low star rating is the customer service experience with the captain of the snorkeling activities. He was rude to everyone on the boat and one girl almost cried because he yelled at her because she came on the boat without knowing how to swim. There's a way to speak to paying customers regardless of safety and rules. Do better to treat people like humans and not animals.

Went here after seeing the positive reviews. Had an excellent experience. The service was great and the food and drink quality excellent. The beach is the highlight of course! Located at Carlisle Bay, they offer snorkelling by the ship wreck. Included in the price. There are some water activities like trampoline and slide. The price includes some credit for food and drinks.

In short, 100% worth it for the free boat tour. We were lucky enough to see a turtle while snorkeling near the shipwreck. Sometimes the hour you take the tour affects whether you'll be able to see any turtles, apparently your chances are better if you go between 10 am and noon. I would definitely do this activity again if I had enough time. The other amenities are great too. The use of a beach chair and umbrella is convenient. There's free wifi available, clean bathrooms, and a changing area. There were other activities we weren't able to get to but they looked fun: ocean trampoline, diving from the pier, swinging from a rope at the pier into the water, basketball. The coconut shrimp was gigantic and tasty enough. The staff is very helpful and friendly. This is a place designed for tourists and it delivers good customer service.

Two words: Must Visit! If you’re visiting Barbados on a cruise and want to spend the day on one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean then I highly recommend The Boat Yard. It’s suitable for all ages and has lots of amenities, food and sun loungers. The entrance fee is $35 and this includes a complimentary Rum Punch drink, a Boat Trip to see the turtles, a sun lounger and umbrella and the rope swing/inflatables. They do lots of happy hour offers where most drinks will be 2 for $10 and buckets of 5 beers for around $15-20. The beach itself is situated on Carlisle Bay which is famous for its white washed beaches and is just a sunny slice of beach heaven! Highly recommend (from an ex-cruise worker) for a fun but relaxing day out!

Great day out for us we went twice on our stay kept two teenagers occupied alday really good value for money was 280 bajan dollars for all four of us that included a boat snorkelling with turtles trip beach sun beds umbrellas and so much back on a card you can use off drinks and food we had a great day the beach is beautiful white soft sand and the sea has many activities jumps ropes and inflatables staff are friendly and helpful when needed couldn't fault it. Free Parking available.

What an amazing unique place. Very quirky. Staff always have a smile on their face .plenty drinks to choose from but not for the light hearted, you can ask for a not so strong one lol.

We had to for 4 x entry fees,even though I of us was carrying our Ramadam they wouldn't waver them . They did, however, let us spend his credit in the bar. Which was a good as the total credit for 4 people was used paying for 3 drinks and 3 meals . A memorable day was enjoyed

Ignore the bad reviews.This place is class. For 70 bajan dollars each which includes a 45 bajan dollar voucher to spend at the bar for alcohol or food.a sunbed each and an umbrella . It also includes a 30 min snorkelling tour seeing turtles (which was worth the money just for that) I would say it was one of our best days and we'll worth the visit

For many, many years I have visited the boatyard Barbados 🇧🇧 I love it and will come back soon. It’s clean the staff are the best, friendly, helpful, good food and over all great value for money. Currently $35 cover charge includes beds umbrellas, snorkel tour and taxi back to ship! Shower room clean bathrooms, no hassle beach. Use of inflatable in the sea, swing jumps from amazing pier. I just love it and know you will too. Come and try it out!💕💕

Great day out and always have a day at the races when here in Barbados. Plenty of places to get food and drink and easy to put a bet on.

Horse racing every other Saturday was a lot of fun. Reasonable entrance fee of $25bds for a seat in the stands. Food and beverages available at kiosks and lots of betting windows. Not a luxury place, but well worth a visit.

Such a relaxed, friendly, informal atmosphere at Garrison Savannah, all round the perimeter of the race track. Free entry, and all manner of locals and visitors hanging out together in the spacious grassy areas besides the bookies. Definitely drop in if you're in Barbados on a race day - and check out the horses having a dip in the sea early morning too.

Stopped in on race day to catch a few races and decided it was nicer to watch outside the track in the breeze than in the stands and pay to sit. Lovely afternoon, plenty of places to make bets around the track and vendors selling drinks and food. A nice afternoon when in Barbados.

It's a charming hangover from a Colonial past. Reasonably competitive, low quality flat racing in a quaint setting. The only means of betting is via the scandalously poor value tote although food and drink is reasonable. However...... during covid times the insistence that masks must be worn outside at all times, even when eating and drinking and apart from other racegoers is baffling. Great place to go if you 'collect' racecourses otherwise stay on the beach.

Every morning there are horses exercising on the track. Lovely surroundings with a lot of history.

Nice atmosphere with the street food & drinks around & you can watch the racing for free if you don't want to go into the main grandstand. Makes it affordable to everyone, great idea unlike in the UK.

No races were on the evening I went. A huge paved track is there for persons who would like to go jogging or a walk around. A playfield is in the middle that had a few people playing football (soccer); exercising, etc. An area is built to honor past prime ministers and other Bajans who have contributed positively to the country.

My first visit to this cricket 🏏 where I saw 3 t20s between England and west indies I have been to many venues gigs festivals cricket grounds etc around the world but never have I had security steal my lighter very weird would not of bother me but it was a gold clipper which was a gift from a loved one it was like you can't have that and Chuck it into a red box to me that was theft but what could I do but learn from it food was average and there was no prices written up even the staff didn't seen to know drinks ok 5 Barbados dollars for a can of banks and England lost nothing new there and would go back to see a test match in future with this experience under my belt.

Wonderful cricket ground! There was a game going on when we visited so no tour was available, but this was more than made up for by the chats we had with some of the Barbadian Cricket Association members while watching. A truly lovely afternoon!

The Kensington Oval is a stadium located to the west of the capital city Bridgetown on the island of Barbados. It is the pre- eminent sporting facility on the island and is primarily used for cricket. [4][5] it has hosted many important and exciting cricket games between local, regional, and international teams during its more than 120-year history. Cricket at the Oval began in 1882 when the Pickwick Cricket Club assumed formal ownership of the ground.[6] The first international match held was in 1895 when Slade Lucas' side visited the island. The first Test match was held in January 1930, when the West Indies and England played to a draw. Since the genesis there have been a total of 43 Test matches played on the Kensington Oval grounds, 21 of those matches won by the West Indian cricket team. The new stadium has been commemorated through two 2007 Barbadian postage stamps.

Nice ground, good atmosphere, tannoy the worst I have ever heard! Music no problem but so loud I didn’t hear a single word of what was being said! If there was an emergency no one would know, also scoreboard for T20 at least rarely showed the score, everyone knew it was a four or a six but what was the score. The little scoreboard underneath strained my eyes and others couldn’t read it.

Went to watch 3 of the T20 West Indies v England games here. Well organised getting into the ground. Need proof of i.d. and vaccines. Once inside the ground plenty of units selling food, drinks and souvenirs. Ground is a little dated . Good atmosphere. Good views of the game. Great days out.

Wow! I have always wanted to visit this famous cricket ground and now I have achieved it. The two statues outside of the ground namely Sir Garfield Sobers and Sir Wesley Winfield Hall are in need of a lick of paint - but plenty of opportunity to video and take photos. It's roughly a 20-25 minute walk from Broad Street - very straight forward.

I watched West Indies win the second one day international here today and had a great time. Buying the ticket was seamless using U.S. dollars. Security to enter was a breeze. Bathrooms nice and clean though not your usual urinals ( at least in the general admission stand). Food vendors were organized and clean and drinks reasonably priced. All in all a good outing was had.

A nice venue but it's not what you expect for an international ground.Lack of pre match info start delayed but nothing put on large screen.Food and drink very disorganised. Staff were OK but not to helpful. Don't think I will return.

Dream come true .. visiting the historic site and hosts for the 2024 T20 world cup finals

We watched IND vs. WI ODI match at this stadium. The ground is small. Since there weren't many people in the crowd, we got in quickly. Our tickets were in ‘Worrell Weekes Wallcott’ stand (block 105) which was close to the pavilion, so we could see the cricketers closely. There were places to get food, but it wasn't really fancy (just stuff like fries and fish cakes). They also had some shops where you could buy cold drinks, snacks, and souvenirs. All in all, we had a good time.

An excellent cricket ground enjoyed a ODI and international T20 WI v England and it is a great ground to watch cricket. Tickets reasonably price and two of the four main stands are covered.

The visitor center cash register person was a great person to chat with upon entry. She gave tips and suggestions to view it. She even helped me make a buying decision based on preferences with two items that I torn between getting. We enjoyed seeing and learning the history of Barbados.

The Barbados Museum The Barbados Museum, located at the Garrison, is housed in the former British Military Prison. The prison, whose upper section was built in 1817 and lower section in 1853, became the headquarters of the Barbados Museum and Historical Society in 1930.

A fascinating museum that's a must visit for anyone interested in the history of the island of Barbados. Great gift shop! No cafe.

We decided to look around this museum whilst visiting Bridgetown. Unfortunately the some areas of the museum were closed, unsure if it was due to COVID or if they are changing things about. The parts we did get to look around were filled with facts, so you can certainly learn about the history of Barbados. It would be nice if there was a little Café or something similar to get a drink & bite to eat.

Wasn't here for the historical education. I went for an even. Beautiful venue, however, the rain fell and it got muddy (lost a star for the mud). Too few bathrooms for the amount of people there (2 stalls for each male and female bathroom) and there was a line for the entire event (lost another star for this). Sorry for those who had an urgent calling. But other than that, the event was nice, convenient parking (really needs to be paved though) and the surrounding are lovely despite the mud. On a sunny day it would've been fine.

Well maintained museum with plenty of history. The unguided visit costs BBD 20, worth visiting.

I left with more questions than answers,I think they should have a volunteer, like someone who has lived in Barbados for more than 50 years and remembers all the changes and how things came to be in their possession, where and how things were found or donated to the museum, there is nothing about Bussa' Rebellion or the yacht club?? How did they take back their home, and why did it take so long to get the help they needed, what are they working towards now, and what are the goals of the people now. Are there any fundraising groups? Are men chosen for military service or forced? Are women in service there?

Definitely one of my favorite places that we visited in Barbados. Lots of mosquitoes, but a lot to learn and take in around the history

A really good museum. There were contributions from all areas of Barbadian culture. Definitely worth the visit. Location is convenient and easily accessible by taking the public bus for only $3.50 in local currency. Also, this museum is walking distance to the George Washington home. Gift shop features many locally made products at a better price than the duty free shop in Bridgetown.

Went there on a school trip with kids school/class. Worth a visit to further learn about Barbados and Caribbean history. Great Kids section that is educational and very interactive.

Your standard museum telling the standard history with a spare exhibition. It's not very expensive to get in so nothing to suffer from if you don't enjoy the experience to its best

Many older Bajans are very proud of their heritage - and this museum helps you understand it. Easy to navigate, doesn’t take a ton of time, air conditioned, inexpensive - and it taught me a lot about Barbadian history. Highly recommend.

I love that a part of our island's history is open for the public to see, even if for a small fee. Housed in beautiful coral stone buildings in the center of the city's capital, its a sight to see both inside and out.

incredible -- we were lucky to get a tour by a member who happened to be there. Oldest synagogue in the Americas and nearly destroyed after abandonment, only to be preserved and celebrated by the Barbados government. American expats now keep it going. Nice, quick tour history museum on site to get all the relevant info if you don't have a tour guide.

A whole new experience in the history of Judaism in the new world. The 2nd oldest temple in the western hemisphere is brimming with authenticism. It is still n active synogogue with cemetery markers, many in Heɓrew.

This is one of the most beautiful and memorable places I have ever visited. Regardless of your religious or spiritual beliefs, this is the oldest synagogue in the western hemisphere with an incredible history. I have taken self-guided tours countless times with visitors and locals alike, which are loved by everybody. But when I finally scheduled a special tour for a Saturday for special guests who were visiting Barbados for the first time (a quick stopover on a cruise) we learned more about the Jews in Barbados than we could’ve ever imagined. This was all thanks to Neal and his incredible knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching others. If you want to have this unique experience, sure to schedule this in advance with Neal, or you could also do a self guided tour which includes the on-site museum. Either way, you will you will learn things you would’ve never imagined as part of Jewish, Barbados and Caribbean history.

Unfortunately, we came here a bit past 3pm and visitors were no longer allowed. It looks quite interesting from the outside with lots of history. If in Barbados, come and support our people!

Small but well done museum, old synagogue, and mikveh. Gives a great insight into early Judaism in the Caribbean. Friendly and helpful docent. Take the time to view the images and inscriptions on the old grave stones.

The Nidhe Israel Synagogue is an absolute must see when visiting Barbados. The Synagogue, museum, Mikvah, and cemetery should not be missed. This is living history at its finest. The Synagogue continues to be alive and used.

There is a lot of historical places in Barbados, and this is an important one. The museum tells an interesting story of Bajan jews. I learned a lot during my visit. You can also see a very old mikva and jewish cemetery.

It is a very beautiful beach. It is very big and sometimes it can be crowded. You can see The Cruise Terminal, the cruise ships and on the opposite side the Hilton Barbados Resort. There are many possibilities for eating and drinking: Lobster Alive, Jos Beach Bar, Savvy On The Bay, etc

Got a cab here from Norwegian cruise. Had a great day on the beach in front of Bali beach club. Chairs and umbrellas very reasonable and beautiful beach and water. Saw a turtle or two and a stingray as well. The Bali beach club bar was convenient to replenish deputy beer and mimosas. Wonderful afternoon. Highly recommend.

Of course, we had to see the race horses swimming! We kept reading that we had to arrive at sunrise to see the horses - NOT TRUE! We arrived around 6:45 and horses were still arriving at 8:00. The horses are beautiful and the grooms / trainers were very friendly.

A great beach in Carlisle bay, nice calm waters. We swam the length of the bay from the boatyard to the pier, a good open water swim about 1.2km per lap

Loved pebbles Beach, came to see the race Horses being washed in the sea. Thursday and Sundays are the busiest days and Saturdays quieter as they are raced every other Saturday. There is a lady every morning selling tea, coffee and hot chocolate, she's very friendly and welcoming and has loads of information. Highly recommend coming early we arrived around 6am.

Visit any early morning to see local horses exercise before full day of sun arrives. Very therapeutic and a sight not to be missed! If you arrive after 9am you could miss the opportunity. Talk to the trainers and learn about the horses too.

Love coming to Barbados on a cruise. We love hiking to Pebbles Beach. Beautiful walk. So many beautiful sights along the way. The beach is just stunning. The color of the water is incredible. We bring out own snorkel gear. We snorkel out to the spot to see turtles and then on out to a couple of ship wrecks. And a tradition now is to hit up the local vendor street for hot, fresh caramel popcorn. Great snack. Barbados is amazing!

Get here around 6am to see the local horses taking a dip in the sea & watch the sunrise. Alternatively during the day great spot to swim, sunbathe and have a beverage. Very clean beach and plenty of parking even on weekends.

There is nothing to compare to the early morning stroll on Pebble Beach watching the race horses come down for a swim. Brilliant. Friendly people and beautiful horses. Must see!

Excellent for snorkeling! There are plenty of turtles in the water if you swim out deep enough. There are also multiple shipwrecks, anchors, and other things of note with lots of fish around!

What. an. experience. We arrived at the beach at 6:15am and there was already a small crowd of people with horses going to and from the beach. It was such an incredible experience, they let you take photos, pet, lead and ride the horses if you would like. Make sure to bring cash as the handlers do ask for a donation if you interact with the horse. They bring the horses everyday of the week but on Tuesdays and Thursdays they bring all of their horses to the beach for a swim. So if you’re not an early bird Tues/Thurs is the day to go since the horses kept coming and going until 7:45/8:00am. Otherwise, the horses are typically done swimming by 7:00am due to road traffic. A MUST see while in Barbados!!

Beautiful place unfortunately ruined for my daughter by the lads who decided it was OK to share her contact and call her in the middle of the night, putting her off wanting to go back.. she'd been looking forward to seeing the horses Sunday morning but when we didn't go back next day the original guy contacted her, she said she hadn't been well but then after that the others contacted her.. Shame because he had seemed decent enough when we visited on our first full day, we had sat on loungers, eaten from food stalls and had drinks, had genuinely intended on returning at that point as it was walkable from our accommodation... I went back to see horses and it was lovely shame some can be so out of order

Get down to Pebbles Beach before 7am every morning to see the racehorses have their morning swim and hydrotherapy. Well worth the early rise. There's tea & coffee available on the beach.

This is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world! The sand was pearly white, the water was crystal clear, and the waves were nice and calm. We had fun lounging, although the weather was super hot for late February. The water was nice and cool and we enjoyed snorkeling with turtles, where we saw lots of fish and met lots of other tourists. There were tons of chairs and umbrellas available. There were many restaurants with service available to tourists. They accepted American dollars and we had a great time meeting locals and learning about the local culture.

Long stretch of sand with turtles in water Snorkeling isn’t even close to Folkestone Marine Park but there are quite a few turtles if you’re a bit patient. Nice beach for a long stroll along the sea. Also it has some running water to clean up after swimming close to the pin on google maps in the parking lot.

Perfect! Parked for free (marked as “Esplanade” on google maps), chairs and umbrella should cost no more than $40BBD, cheap drinks from the chair vendors, lunch options nearby (Cuzz’s!). To see the shipwreck on your own just look for where the hoards of boat tour people are and then wait until they leave and go out yourself. Or follow the rope and the shipwreck is right past the last buoy.

One of our favorite beaches in Barbados. If you need beach chairs and umbrella look for John usually wearing a white bucket hat. He has great chairs, wonderful friendly service and fair prices. Snorkeling out from shore you’ll find turtles and shipwrecks and John also rents snorkeling gear. There is parking nearby with restrooms but just note the restroom close pretty early. There are plenty of choices for food within a short walk. This beach is great for swimming as it usually calm.

Beatiful Beach and very nice locals. The turtles were so clear and some are near the shore. The shipwrecks are very worthwhile and are definitely worth swimming out to see. The waters were also very clear and you should check out the Barbados wildlife reserve because it's a great addition to the trip. You can get a lot of things done in short time and there are small shops wherever you are. Overall, a great place to visit for spring break or summer.

Loved it. If traveling by ship, this will be the closer beaches (Carlisle Bay) great, just great. Water is suuuper. If u get a bit deeper , it gets a bit cold, but is great for the weather. You can actually see fish schools so close to shore. Safe and can grab a beer in any of the restaurants close by or a coconut :) don't forget to have your rum dose as well. The best s that each is not too crowded.

This is the beach I regularly visit when I come to Barbados. I like that there is parking, showers, free wifi (only sometimes). The water is beautiful and the feeling of the soft sand between the toes feels amazing. It's a really good place to visit.

One of the only beaches that doesnt have seaweed. Calm, clean, beautiful water but the its facilities close around 4:30 pm, leaving no where to change out of you're wet clothes.

Beautiful white sand beach located in Carlisle Bay. The water is very warm and clear, you can see your toes when your up to your neck in the water. There is a very busy road right beside it and there are tons of boats moored in the bay. Some stopping by for snorkeling excursions and others just appear to be there all day enjoying the sun and water. There are rentals for paddle boards, kayaks, banana boats and probably any other water sport you can think of, so yes, a very popular beach. But absolutely beautiful and it never felt crowded. It was a short taxi ride from the cruise port, only cost $5/person each way and the driver arranged a time to come back and pick us up. Rented chairs for $10/each and an umbrella for $5, for a snack, walked to the parking lot and got some deep fried local fish cakes for $0.50/each and a local beer for $2, so all in all, only $55 for a great day at a beautiful beach with snacks and beer.

Lovely to watch the horses be bathed and you can ride them too! Quite a lot of boats in the bay which is a shame

It’s an ok beach, but nothing special. There are much nicer beaches on Barbados Very crowded both on the beach and in the water, hassled a lot by people trying to sell you trinkets or excursions. Snorkelling is good to see turtles from the beach without needing to go on a boat excursion.

Excellent beach used by locals a lot. Daily walks early in the morning 6am -8 before the sun was at its hottest. Families picnicking and playing games, elders taking morning swims and the sea so clear and calm for day and early evening swims. Natasha sells fish cutters and there is a bar in the car park! What more could you ask for?

Best beach on the entire island. Located within the upper end of Carlisle Bay (closest to pebbles beach). Super clear water and very calm. Went here almost everyday for a month.The closer to the edges of the bay have more stones but nothing that would distract your beach day. The closer to the Savoy food court the more crowded the beach is but it’s also much calmer. Absolutely love this beach.

A very moving Matins on Good Friday. The 20 strong choir was talented and professional with a very emotional performance of Handel's "Surely He has borne our griefs....". And I've heard the "Messiah" live more times than i can remember, from The Huddersfield Choral Society and top world choirs. Excellent organist. Sadly there were so few there to hear it. I would love to hear them give a complete performance.

Great experience, the history of this church, the first parish church in Bridgetown, built of the second consecrated ground on the site where the St. Mary's church is located.

Beautiful architecture

I felt blessed to have visited this beautiful historic church, on Christmas Day 2022 nonetheless while on our cruise. A truly memorable experience.

I was at a funeral recently at the Cathedral and took in the ambience of the Church. A very old Church in Bridgetown Barbados. I used to attend there as a boy in the 70s. A made for good memories returning there where at the funeral of a child hood friend's mother I met fellow alumni and we shared as boys how we used to run around the grave yard and even try to peep into tombs. I was Confirmed there in 1974 by then Bishop Drexel Gomez on a night a hurricane was supposedly to strike the Island. A lot of history in this Church in the heart of Bridgetown

Service is very good on Wednesdays. Vistors are welcome.There's nothing like serving god in faith and in spirit. Always have god in my heart.

People say that Stavronikita is the most beautiful monastery in the Athos. I haven't seen the all, but this one I liked the most. It also the smallest one.

Humbling experience to be able stay here as a pilgrim. Meals twice a day in a setting like in the middle ages. Fantastic. Dormitory rooms. Ceremonies and masses allowed to be attended but to different degree depending on denomination.

My visit was coincidental. I was exercising from Brighton beach car park to the Hot Pot, doing a few laps. Since it was close to sunset I made my way over to the beach to watch the sun's descent It was spectacular! The colours and changes in the cloud formations were superb An excellent choreography by nature
