Absolutely beautiful and lovely!!! Very clean and the views are amazing!! Make sure to walk at the ocean side just before sunset! The sunset will amuse you! The weather in March is the best. Friendly people!!

This is a very LONG malecon-- probably at least five miles long. The longest I've seen in Mexico. They've done a good job of building a nice road between the beach and the businesses. The malecon has a bike/skateboard lane, and plenty of room to walk. The only thing it doesn't have is sufficient parking.

The area is nice but so many of the business are shut down due to poor management or other issues. If you like banda then this place is great, unfortunately they don’t offer a lot of variety. The water is guarded by rocks, so the swimming is limited. The activities are limited and the costs are tripled that of Cancun. I suggest spending time elsewhere.

It's about 6 miles long in total. Great place to walk, take in sites, restaurants, shopping. Fun place to chill with a 6 pack, take pics or go for jog. You can walk it or grab a taxi. Goodtimes.

Not anywhere near 13 miles. I can run it in an hour and I'm not that fast. If you count walking on the curvy tight rounds to El Faro or through the tourist district (not on the ocean). You could get close to 13 miles. But the nice walking area next o the ocean is less than 5 miles. It's still a great walk or bike ride.

The area is nice and very walkable. Taxi rides are also fairly cheap, just make sure that you set the price before getting in. I would recommend knowing at least some basic Spanish, but I am sure that you can also get through with an app like Google Translate. There are a lot of vendors so if you're looking for some items at a fairly cheap price, you'll be in heaven.

Hotel Belmar, Is one of the oldest hotels that has over 400 hundred rooms. It is a classic historic place to visit. The prices varies in rooms to original room that is very basic to suits with queen or kings rooms with air conditioning. It will fit whatever budget you have. A must see.

This is a pretty good Aquarium and Zoo facility. It is pretty well-stocked with marine and land animals. In general, it is pretty clean-- especially where it counts-- the restrooms. The live shows were not great, but pretty good. The only thing I, being American, didn't like, is that everything is in Spanish-- which is not my first language. But all in all, it was a pretty good experience. :-)

Not what I thought. They mention as the largest aquarium in Mexico but no shark tank or penguins yet, but they still charge full tickets. Only one show. Sorry, but was not impressed.

Very nice park and aquarium, featuring sea creatures and reptiles local to the area. The bird and seal shows were fun. There was also a penguin exhibit. Good for the whole family. Many exhibits have accompanying descriptions in English.

Wish this wasn’t so gimmicky. Asked three separate times for time share presentations! It’s the aquarium not a mall. They had one or two species that I hadn’t seen before. Wish the tanks were a bit cleaner. I could also do without all the extra birds and reptiles.

Acuario Mar de Cortez in Mazatlan is complete. It's one of the largest aquariums in Latin America. The architecture is very modern and has beautiful gardens and wall fountains. It has 700 fish species, an aviary, crocodiles, and some mammals that we didn’t see because they are finishing their habitat. The fish tanks are huge and well kept. They have an educational and interactive area for kids and adults. The price is accessible and if you are in Mazatlan, it is worth visiting this important place. After all, it is the biggest aquarium in Latino America.

Spent about 3 1/2 hours there. Very impressive if you like aquarium. Had pictures taken with a sealion, very fun. Wasn't crowded until the afternoon when a local school had a field trip. Several live shows to watch, and a few interactive exhibits. You can feed a stingray. Extras do cost money.

We had an amazing time, my little girl loved it. We learned a lot more about these magnificent animals. It was a wonderful experience.

This was so fun! We were cruising and did the hop on hop off tour which took us to the aquarium. The best parts were the fresh fruit carts and the sea lion show. So cute. Even without being able to speak or understand any Spanish, the show was easy to follow and the sea lions were amazing!

380 pesos too expensive. On a Saturday it was quite crowded inside probably would be better on a weekday. The exhibits were pretty good and it had a nice food court area with lots of space and seating

This is a great aquarium and a must go place when in Mazatlan. Definitely worth the price of admission. It's very interactive and the staff is quite knowledgeable. There are a couple of souvenir stores and a few restaurants. The aquarium is beautiful. Well worth it, the family had a great time.

Glad we went on a Saturday after the New Year. Got there around 2:30pm and surprised to see there were no lines. The grand aquarium, bird show and aviary were free to enter, but you have to get a separate ticket for the seal show. Most instructions were in spanish, so we used Google Translate or asked the guides to speak in English (if possible). Great place to visit with kids. It was worth the trip for us.

This place is awe inspiring. Worth every pesos, and every moment to get to. It looks like a big, modern concrete building but once inside it is like walking on the ocean floor and experiencing it without diving gear! My son (5) and I were equally impressed with the interactive experiences. The shows were great (a bit short and all in Spanish) - we laughed at the sea lions and had a lot of fun. I have traveled a lot and this place is truly amazing.

Loved the way the building naturally flows and interacts with the huge acrylic tanks. Loved seeing the divers swim and interact with marine life, you are allowed to touch starfish and also feed the stingrays. The sea lyon show was amazing.

The aquarium is well designed and boasts some impressive spaces for viewing the various creatures. The building is amazing, but it was a bit crowded and loud in the smaller rooms and around the interactive areas. The penguins and sea lion displays were particularly delightful.

I came here last week and before that about 4 years ago. It has gotten bigger and wayyyy better. I would have even paid to go twice. I would 100% recommend this aquarium and would definitely be going again if I come back to mazatlan.

This church is amazing. It is definitely worth a stop by to check out the amazing architecture or go and talk with God. We went on a Saturday and there was a wedding going on. We could only sneak in for a few quick photos. I wish we could have seen more of the church. I suggest going to view during a mass.

Beautiful well maintained church. Despite all the tourists coming in to take pictures (like me), there's a peaceful calmness one can soak in if one stops and sits down for a moment and quiets one's mind. There were lots of security ladies gathered across the street. Vibe seemed very relax. A 15 minute walk from the cruise line port. Nice walk if you're not in a rush and in fair shape.

I visited the Catedral Basílica de la Inmaculada Concepción on my trip to Mazatlan. I was amazed by its beauty and its details. I learned a lot about its history and its significance for Mazatlan’s people. I also had a great time walking around the plaza and checking out the nearby attractions. I gave it a 5-star rating and would definitely go back again.

It was beautiful cathedral on the shores of the Pacific. It took me a few tries to be able to access the church to take my pics. On Sundays, it had Mass over the noon hour.

Catedral Basílica de la Inmaculada Concepción is a beautiful place to visit, whether you are Catholic or not. I feel very peaceful when I’m there. The church looks great from far away and gorgeous when I walk closer in. The interior is so beautiful and solemn. Try to come early on the weekday or in the afternoon on Sunday.

Know that not everyone is a tourist. The architecture is beautiful and you can see that the church has been rebuild by looking at the walls outside but the inside looks original. Come stop by, leave a donation so the church can continue to be restored and open.

Beautiful cathedral —Spanish Mass offered daily, plan ahead for seasonal schedule. This is a traditional Catholic Church, those celebrating Eucharist take by mouth and not by hand (common in US). No missalette available, so I used my mobile app, Laudate, which offers English and Spanish translation of the daily reading. Centrally located across from the main city plaza, an easy ride from cruise terminals. I can recommend using DiDi for ride (like an Uber/Lyft) and each way was MX peso $35 or today’s conversion rate of about $2.04 each way—MUCH less expensive than the set terminal taxi stand, which was $9/USD each way. I also stopped in a frozen fruit/ice cream shop for a quick watermelon refreshment—many other fruit flavors are offered for about $1.50 per bar. The plaza was festive and very much ALIVE with tourists and locals during this holiday season. Local police are present to help with traffic flow and general safety.

Definitely worth the hike! You do need tickets to go out on the glass bridge but they are very cheap. They can be purchased at the bottom when you start the hike but are not required. There are drinks available for sale at the bottom and halfway up as well. In regards to the bridge itself, there are only about 10 people allowed out at a time and you have to take off your shoes. It is a strange sensation to look straight down over the cliff. The views were amazing. We only wished we had timed out dinner reservations better to have had time to enjoy the sunset from here.

Did this as part of a Carnival Cruise excursion tour but you could probably get a taxi here from the port. You are going to want some good walking shoes, a bottle of water and a hat. For approximately the first 900 meters you are on a path. There are some stopping/resting points along the way. Then, there are 326 steps to the top. All ages and fitness levels can do it if you take your time but it was hot. You do get sweaty. At the top, there are some excellent views and beverages available if you need a little more. Definitely worth the adventure.

This is a great place for a walk. I is a steep grade with lots of steps, but there are plenty of places to rest if you need to. Views from the top are worth the effort. Some people were jogging up and down so if you want a challenge it's there for you 🙂

Not a huge fan really when you get charged to take a hike/walk. Especially when they close before sunset during the summer months. It’s not much, 30pesos and 10 to use the restroom. Also for how under maintained it is kept. Steady walk up between pat and steps. Also mornings can tend to be a touch hazy so be careful as views aren’t the best. Middle of the day might be the best shot or evening. Was up at the top around 730am. Also think they might charge to go on glass bridge.

The lighthouse itself, the walk, the views are well worth it. 5 stars, highly recommend. That part is free. The sky walkway has a small charge. It's OK, neat to take a photo if there is no line, but I wouldn't wait in line. The best views are still in the free part and on the way up. If you want to go on the walkway, you'll need to buy a ticket at the base. Otherwise, enjoy the climb for free. Bathrooms only at the base. The actual lighthouse at the top is closed now. Bring plenty of water, or buy at the base, cannot buy anything at the top.

The hike is challenging but doable. The views are worth it. It took our group about 30 minutes to get up there. We only waited 10 minutes to get our turn on the bridge. The time we had to take the picture does feel rushed due to other people in the group taking long. There is a bathroom at the start/end and it’s $10 pesos.

The hike to get here is daunting and hot so bring plenty of H2O, light clothing, and comfy/airy footwear. If you go past 10 a.m. double up your sun block and pace yourself. The hike is we'll worth it. The gasp you get when the peak opens up to a beautiful ocean vista, on a clear day is truly awe-inspiring.

Bathroom at the base costs 10 pesos to use. There is a small stand at the base selling water and other things that was willing to make change for the coin operated turnstile at the bathroom. The climb is broken into 2 parts. Trail and stairs. Trail is well maintained and wide enough for foot traffic going both ways. As the trail winds around the eastern side of the island you lose your ocean breeze, which can make it a little warm depending on the temp and the angle of the sun. Stairs can get a big hairy at times, as the spacing is inconsistent and the rail is an uncomfortable thing metal piece that only offers some assistance (when it is present). All in all, the hike up is a decent workout, but we made it in sandals and even my 5 and 7 year old daughters were able to complete it. Views at the top are lovely. There is a small vendor selling water and Gatorade for reasonable prices at the top and at the break right before the stairs.

Great view of Mazatlan from the highest light house in north America, tip up and down can be done within 1 hour. 900m steep walkways than 338 steps to the top. Almost 0.5Km up.

This is a great spot to visit if you want the best view of Mazatlan or just to get a great workout. You can come early and climb up to see the sunrise (the view is spectacular; you can see Mazarlans coastline for miles). As you go up the trail unwinds around the mountain and you can go at your pace. Then you reach the steps (just over 300 of them) and it's definitely a great workout to climb them; I recommend bringing a water bottle or some sort of energy drink to make sure you stay hydrated along the way. Another thing is it's best to come in the early morning or later in the night as with the exercise and heat we've heard some people have been known to get heat exhaustion along the way. But if you do make it all the easy to the top you will come to find that the effort was well worth it! If you are in mazarlan this is a spot worth visiting especially for the amazing views.

This was an amazing walk up the mountain. It is not for the weak by any means! It was very hot and humid the day me and my family went up. By the time I got to the top I could barely breathe and I was sweating profusely! The views were breathtaking to say the least though and was worth the trek!! I never got to see the lighthouse or walk on the glass bridge because the line was too long, but honestly I was so hot and wore out that I didn't care. 😁

Fabulous!!! I can not say enough about this amazing theater. It's much larger than it appears from the front, seats approximately 800 people. The acoustics are excellent and the interior feels like going back in time. Performances for 2023 are posted. Favorite thing? People dress up! You won't see anyone in beach clothes here, especially shorts. Highly recommend attending a performance as part of the Mazatlan experience.

Our first experience inside the Abgela Peralta Theater. The seating and atmosphere is comfortable & decorated superbly. We enjoyed listening to the orchestra playing Big Band songs of Glen Miller. It was so nice that next week we are taking our grand daughters to experience the ballet.

Amazing historic theatre with very comfortable and new seats. Was a little worried they'd be cramped but not at all. Wonderful viewpoint from orchestra row F where we watched the Nutcracker. The buy tickets button on the website doesn't work, but it's easy to buy tickets in person at the box office. Need to know a little Spanish but there is a screen that shows you open seats so pretty easy.

Truly a gem to be enjoyed. If you have a chance to attend a performance here take advantage of it. Tickets are usually about 400 pesos. They need to purchased on person at the box office. The hours are something like 9 to 12 and 4 to 8.

I just came back from El Cid with my fiance! We enjoyed the adult private pool, but there is room for improvement with this hotel. We stayed on the ground level, room #0120, which had a nice view. However, there was a weird smell in our room, and we found two cockroaches near the bathroom. Secondly, the quality is not consistent when it comes to daily housekeeping. Maria did an excellent job when she came to clean our room, but the others were doing the bare minimum/they would come late and would not clean the toilets or the shower or the sink or dust despite us leaving a tip. When we got into our room the first day, there was still food in the sink from the previous guest(s). This hotel has a lot of potential for becoming a five-star hotel, but the lack of quality of service and detail paid by some staff will prevent that.

We had a great time. The pools were nice but they were a bit cold so we didn't swim much. We did hang out poolside, where you had a server who checked with us regularly to see if we needed anything. Our room was very nice we had a great view. We had a one bedroom which had two queen beds, and a TV. A kitchenette, a dining area, and a living room with a pullout sofa bed and TV. Overall, it was a wonderful time .

Absolutely awful! We purchased the elite dining plan and they have failed to deliver most of it. I booked 2 one bedroom suites. One is lovely. Ours is horrible. There is a head shaped dent on the fridge door, closet doors are broken, furniture is broken. The retire unit is a wreck. Dinner at El Patio was inedible and our attempt to eat at La Concha disastrous. We never even got menus. It took over 90 minutes to get any food and most of what we ordered never arrived. I had hoped that after the shuttle driver gave my husband's luggage to someone else at another resort our stay would improve. That hope was in vain. It has been worth it as the Eclipse was incredible. And Room Service is great. Save yourselves some grief and avoid all El Cid properties. Anywhere.

Such a wonderfully relaxing vacation! The all inclusive option & also having access to all 4 properties + all pools was the best. Consistent & gracious customer service from all! However The timeshare presentation push at the beginning was unexpected. Nonetheless it wasn’t a big deal & we were not hounded.

We really enjoyed our stay at El CID. Our room was in the perfect location. We had a west view so we got to enjoy the beautiful sun sets every day. Also had a pool view and enjoyed watching people jumping of the little cliff. The staff was excellent. We would definitely go back. We have vacationed at 5 other cities in Mexico but Mazatlan is our favorite.

The area is good if you are looking for to be where the vibes are. I just recently got back. They do not change out the bed sheets. The only cleaning, they do is broom and mop the room. The food is okay. Now there is two different menus. The servers go by your wrist band color. So once you check in you should ask about it. I found out on my day 3. Either than that the beach view is nice while eating outside.

Quite a nice hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious. The beds were fine. There was odd temperature fluctuations in the shower that we never could sort out. Our side of the hotel was quiet at night, but my brother was staying on the other side. His room was facing an open air club that was noisy until 2AM, but that wasn't the hotel's fault. Their beach was great, as were the private pools.

Right on the beach. The rooms are older, a little outdated but nice. There is a bar across the street that plays very loud music that we could hear in our room till 3am each morning. They easily changed our room to a much quieter one when we asked. We had the all inclusive which was awesome. Lots of activities included and fun. The food was delicious. We loved the food. The people were so nice and friendly. We had a great time! The pools were amazing.

Rooms and hotel need lots of renovation is very old I stay in a room that I hear the music from the street the whole night, I was very tired of that. The windows are very fine only one glass and old type, the doors have a big gaps all the sounds will infiltrate and the smells from the other room too because people cook in the rooms. So please renova this hotel as soon as possible, or I will never come back to this hotel

Nice place. We came for the breakfast buffet. The food was amazing. The service was amazing. The view is amazing. Next time I'm in Mazatlan I would like to stay at the hotel. The pools look wonderful. I would also like to play golf here. The course looks nice.

It is a beutiful place to stay with a wonderful view no matter what room you get! Our service wasn't the greatest we walked in and had 1 broken shower,a shower that was flooding, and a hole with water dripping from the ceiling. They didn't fix it right away because they needed us to be in the room, but otherwise they cleaned your room everyday and they were very nice people! It is right next to the beach for easy beach access and they have a warm pool with a cliff jump and 2 slides and another smaller pool with bar stools. They will give you food or drinks and deliver it to the beach!! Really great place and a hot tub with a pool next to it... beutiful place!

The room above the adult pool was amazing. The weather was fabulous. The service and food and drinks were lovely. I can't wait to go back in the fall. I thank the wonderful management and staff for superior service.

You have to purchase ice and water. Unlike other exchange resorts. No paper towels or dish soap. Lots of chair hogs. Hard to get a chair or towel. Don't take the bait and go for their sales presentation over 3 hours and ticket price over 112,000 for platinum . Its a nice area

Firstly this Hotel charges for WiFi per device per day! Something NO one does anymore... That being said, the hotel is VERY old and you may feel it everywhere: rooms, general areas. Besides that, the personnel are very rude: reception, security customer service and even some waiters! Nothing is simple in this hotel! Be aware that if you do not have an identification wrist band, you will be treated like a criminal, even if you're checking out and want to go to the restaurant!! You do not feel welcome at a certain point. Why loose your money coming to this hotel where you will not feel welcome, be charged for everything, and experience a bad stay... there are other hotels out there that are much more worth the money and the while!

Great beach! Lots of activities. NOT family friendly! Children are not allowed anywhere after 9:00. It was kind of an issue as we had many children.

Hotel room was facing the ocean view but 3-4 night clubs playing loud noise late into 2-3am, couldn't sleep even with ear plugs. No noise restrictions.

Airport shuttle (Bus) took 1.5 hrs from airport 😑, found this is run by the timeshare sales reps. Recommend a taxi over this bus. Found my luggage was off loaded at a previous stop (bus had stopped at two other resorts before our stop). Lucky they called and found the missing suitcase and reunited before we finished checking in...Lucky I carry valuables and medication in my carry on or this could have been more than a concern. Room is older but nice. Missing items the Elite plan provided (robes, slippers, tote bag) Talking with staff at the Elite Lounge (entrance across from front doors, behind elevators) the Elite package items were delivered to the room. Amenities in room very limited. Has a drip coffee maker but you need to aquire your own coffee. Dishes, silverware, utensils, pots and pans are limited and no dishwasher you need to hand-wash everything or be charged after checkout. Recommend a plug in nightlight for bathroom trips at night. WIFI $50 week for one device is too much as most locations offer packages for multiple devices...my cellphone gets internet so know your cell plan. Elite Lounge has complementary drinks and snacks, but these can get wiped out by other members and not sure how often restocked. today 8APR2024 was an awesome eclipse viewing from our 27th floor balcony. Elite dinning bracelets dependent on securing reservations the day before. Not sure if these elite meal plans were worth the cost yet? Varying dinning experiences throughout the week posting reviews for individual places, buffet breakfasts, poolside simple menu, beach is drinks only. Dining experiences dinner food options was not great at most locations, breakfast buffet is simple a menu for the price. Two Dinner locations we enjoyed: Prime Grill ($25 usd surcharge with elite braclet) and El Cassada. Four of us took a taxi to the market in old downtown (150 Pecos there 200Pecos back). We wandered the market (5-7 Pecos to use restroom), visited the cathedral. Lunch back at the resort pool then wandered down the main street checking shops before dinner back at resort. We enjoyed sitting on the beach under palpas 🛖 (grass huts) till lunch watching the waves and avoiding local vendors walking the beach line.

Overall I’m very happy with our stay at El Cid El Moro and would recommend: - location is perfect, close to everything - pool and beach amenities are great - service is generally good - price is quite reasonable However, please be aware of the following things we disliked: - rooms are old and need some repair and better cleaning - the food from the international restaurants are poorly executed; I would recommend the buffets instead, better selection and quality and definitely stay away from the Japanese restaurant! - speaking of restaurants, we were only able to book dinner at the Italian and Japanese restaurants. You have to book at 7am for the next day and seems to almost book out early. There’s no way people are all waking up at 7am so there’s obviously some people have priority; we asked but never got an explanation. - getting a beach or pool chair also requires getting up early as people reserve spots with the towels. I’d recommend taking the inter hotel shuttle and going to the Marina beach, it’s larger, more private and many, many more empty chairs! If you can oversee the negatives, I think you’ll have a great time.

Rooms are spacious. Food is ok for an all inclusive. Service is hit or miss. The property is older and requires service. Elevators are sketchy. The time share people are on you like black flies in July.

Terrible hotel. This was the destination for a family trip and we got the all inclusive package. I’ll start by saying the windows are not sound proof and you can hear everything outside. There is a bar across the street that blast banda music until very late hours at night and you won’t be able to sleep. We were on the 23rd floor and it was like we were at the club. We complained with front desk and at first they said there was nothing they can do and offered ear plugs. After much complaining they finally moved us to another room that was a littler better but again we could hear everything that was happening on the room next door. The property is dated and somewhat maintained. The bed headboards were peeling off and the room was decently cleaned but there were stains on the room table and night stands. Worse of all, turns out the “All Inclusive” is really Some Inclusive. Everything in this hotel is a up charge starting with the WiFi !! And they charge per day per device, not per room. The service staff is pretty inconsistent. I noticed the morning shift seemed to be a little better and more hospitable but the afternoon and evening staff we horrible. They seem to hate their jobs and it reflects in the way the treat you. The food is really subpar and only certain items are included, everything else is a charge including bottled water. To make a reservation in one of the restaurants is a monumental task. Seems like the default answer is always no. When you check in they make you sign a piece of paper that says hiring bandas at the beach is not allowed, however, these bandas are for hire up and down the beach and people hire them and they are loud and awful. No respect for others around that don’t like that music and the hotel staff does absolutely nothing about it. I have travel all over the world staying at expensive and economical hotels and by far, this was the worst experience. I have never felt more unwelcome at a hotel before. The only reason I’m giving two stars is because some of the staff were actually very nice but we will never come back to this place. Safe yourself the headache and look somewhere else.

The El Cid El Moro is a one and done. So how can I give the service and the location 4 and 5 stars but give the hotel a two-star rating? Well here it is. From the moment you plunk down your credit card at the desk you will experience a long series of sins of omissions. The first question upon check-in is.. "Would you like Wi-Fi for your room for $50" Well , when we got to the room, we found out that we could only log in one device. As it turns out they charge $50 per device for Wi-Fi! I thought that this was a totally classless move for a high end place. After check in , we met with a concierge type lady that gave us the lay of the land, and booked us for what she promised to be a 90 minute timeshare presentation, in exchange for a snorkel tour, a city tour, and some discounts . As it turns out it was a 3-hour plus presentation. We politely turn down the first salesman who tried to sell us a timeshare upgrade that costs $43,000 down and then $1,700 per month. We politely explained that we already had a timeshare and did not need an additional timeshare. Well they brought in a shark to overcome our objections. We said no to him several times. He left. And then another shark came in to overcome more objections. At this point I almost blew my stack. My stress level was off the chart by the end of this. The beach in front of the El Morro is beautiful, but after a short time on the beach, a very loud Mexican Mariachi style band placed themselves in front of us and played crazy loud Mexican Marching Band music 10 ft in front of our Lounge chairs. We picked up our stuff and moved to the next group of lounge chairs about 250 ft away. When the band was done playing their song in front of the El Morro, they moved in front of us at the next hotel over. (Also owned by El Cid). So we picked up our stuff once again and moved about a thousand feet away from the hotel in order to get some peace. So our very first day we discovered that the beach front in front of the hotel was completely unusable for us. As we went there for some relaxation. Now the rooms look great in the photographs, but, the mattresses were of an age I can't even guess. Old-fashioned wire and spring mattresses where our bodies sunk right down to the bottom. They were double mattresses to boot. Not even Queen size. We thought that we might cuddle together in a double bed. We couldn't do it, as the beds were so flimsy the both of us sunk to the middle of the bed. So we slept in separate beds for the entire vacation. We had a studio with a full size refrigerator in a two burner stove. The two burner stove did not work. It took 2 days for them to get a single burner working. The full size refrigerator ran constantly. We didn't dare complain. Also we plunked down $400 US on our room so that we could order in the restaurant or on the beach without having to bring pesos with us to the restaurant or the beach. After several tries of ordering food on the beach and in the restaurant, the front desk couldn't seem to make it happen. So we got our money back on the card. It was one stressor after another at this place. The food at the buffet as it turns out was not that great. It was American pricing..Our buffet breakfast ended up costing around $50. If you read the rest of the reviews for this hotel, you will see that many complained about the Mexican Rave Club that is across the street. That is no joke. They start playing around 10:00 a.m. and play at a high decibel level into the wee hours of the morning. We were fortunate enough to have a room facing the ocean. I can't imagine the poor folks in the tower facing the street. If you are coming to Sunny Mexico to get a little relaxation on the beach, this is not for you. Again, the noise level on the beach in front of this hotel is off the chart! At any given time there are three bands playing Mexican marching music super loud. I will say that the Bellman up front polite and their service was great. The room service was also great. Our sheets were changed every day, and the women's swept the sand off the floors as well.

A vintage 4-star facility with a 5-star vanity. Great place, good location. Vacation club exchange guests seem to enjoy lesser benefits than bona fide El Cid Vacation Club members but little else to knock or complain about.

Amazing Beach 🌞🌴🌞🌴🌞

Lovely stretch of beach on the North end of Mazatlan. Playa Cerritos blends into Playa Bruhas on the north. Playa Cerritos offers beautiful low tides that create sandbars and tide pools. Beware there may be jellyfish washed up on the beach. Walkable for over 2 miles. Stop in at Mr. Leonso for lunch and tequila on the north end. Sunsets are spectacular! Got access by Marina Del Rey condominiums. Great beach for making sand castles, and enjoying the sun. Quiet. Clean. Good waves but not great for body surfing. We didn't find the water calm at all. Watch your swimmers.

Its a long walk but definitely worth it, best sunsets view and beautiful place to walk and enjoy. You will have near access to restaurants. It's also important to know that all important events do happen there!

This church is amazing. It is definitely worth a stop by to check out the amazing architecture or go and talk with God. We went on a Saturday and there was a wedding going on. We could only sneak in for a few quick photos. I wish we could have seen more of the church. I suggest going to view during a mass.

Beautiful well maintained church. Despite all the tourists coming in to take pictures (like me), there's a peaceful calmness one can soak in if one stops and sits down for a moment and quiets one's mind. There were lots of security ladies gathered across the street. Vibe seemed very relax. A 15 minute walk from the cruise line port. Nice walk if you're not in a rush and in fair shape.

I visited the Catedral Basílica de la Inmaculada Concepción on my trip to Mazatlan. I was amazed by its beauty and its details. I learned a lot about its history and its significance for Mazatlan’s people. I also had a great time walking around the plaza and checking out the nearby attractions. I gave it a 5-star rating and would definitely go back again.

It was beautiful cathedral on the shores of the Pacific. It took me a few tries to be able to access the church to take my pics. On Sundays, it had Mass over the noon hour.

Catedral Basílica de la Inmaculada Concepción is a beautiful place to visit, whether you are Catholic or not. I feel very peaceful when I’m there. The church looks great from far away and gorgeous when I walk closer in. The interior is so beautiful and solemn. Try to come early on the weekday or in the afternoon on Sunday.

The Catedral Bailica de la Inmaculada Conception is a beautiful active Catholic Church. Please be respectful and take off your hats, lower your voice and be respectful with people that come to pray. Know that not everyone is a tourist. The architecture is beautiful and you can see that the church has been rebuild by looking at the walls outside but the inside looks original. Come stop by, leave a donation so the church can continue to be restored and open.

Beautiful cathedral —Spanish Mass offered daily, plan ahead for seasonal schedule. This is a traditional Catholic Church, those celebrating Eucharist take by mouth and not by hand (common in US). No missalette available, so I used my mobile app, Laudate, which offers English and Spanish translation of the daily reading. Centrally located across from the main city plaza, an easy ride from cruise terminals. I can recommend using DiDi for ride (like an Uber/Lyft) and each way was MX peso $35 or today’s conversion rate of about $2.04 each way—MUCH less expensive than the set terminal taxi stand, which was $9/USD each way. I also stopped in a frozen fruit/ice cream shop for a quick watermelon refreshment—many other fruit flavors are offered for about $1.50 per bar. The plaza was festive and very much ALIVE with tourists and locals during this holiday season. Local police are present to help with traffic flow and general safety.

Fun Waterpark! The tall rides hurt your back when going over the connection points of the slide. Nonetheless I had a great time. Would definitely go again 👍

Make sure you check the ride schedules. They are staggered. They open at 10 am for the kiddies. The thrill slides open at 1, 2 and 3 pm. Call and ask first. Also my son got a large bruise falling off the tube in one of the tunnels. Not the smoothest tubes. No one speaks English. Of course it's Mexico. So Spanish is a must if your going to be asking questions. The place is very old and needs an overhaul.

This place turned out great! I came to Mazatlán twice before and we avoided the water park bcs of the bad reviews but this time we decided to give it a try since someone mentioned they had recently done work on it. It turned out to be a great place for the kids, the little kids area is super cute and engaging for the little ones. I really liked all the treats we got at the food store and the cleaningness of all the areas in general. The gardens are also so well kept. We really liked it and will definitely come back next time we visit.

Nothing like paying for a taxi to the waterpark to find it closed even though it says nothing about being closed. Thanks for getting my kids hopes up RUDE

Fun times for kids and adults alike, good price, cheap beers. Probably gotta watch younger kids more closely, as there's a lot of concrete, ledges, and some steep steps even in the kid areas, but we brought our 5 and 1.5 year old daughters here and they loved it. We got here early, as soon as they opened, but stayed for several hours. Some of the rides don't open until later, e.g. the taller water slides and the wave pool.

Mazagua was a great place to spend the day with our under-10 kids. The kids had a blast. It is very easy to get to by local bus. There are many fun slides for all age levels, including the only 4-person slide I've ever seen. We didn't have to wait long for any rides and the staff were great. Agree with other reviewers that it could use a round of maintenance, but it didn't bother us. Be sure to bring your own towels as they do not offer towels for rent. You can purchase a towel for 250pesos. Overall, highly recommend.

Only reason I give 4 stars is because it’s slightly “run down” in some areas, and some of the slide’s definitely need some work. However it was an awesome day for a great price. The pizza from the restaurant was even good. All of my kids (ages 3-8) had an awesome time and we had to drag them out to leave. It wasn’t Crazy busy and the longest line was about 5 minutes to wait. But most we just walked right on. The kids area is amazing, my toddler had a blast. The main slide area that has several slides going into the same pool area was awesome and easy to look after all the kids going on several different slides. Anyway, would highly recommend for families visiting the area

This must is a must-visit when in Mazatlan! It has an amazing view of the city. The hike is moderate due to the steps. There are many rests area. You can take things slow if you are not usually active. Bring lots of water! I will enjoy my hike up to the lighthouse and the observatory bridge. So many gorgeous viewpoints. Highly recommended.

I believe this is called El Farro or the lighthouse looking at everyones pics and revieves.. We were able to take a local bus very close. A walk along the causeway to the island brings you to the base of the climb. These are the only washroom for $10 at the bottom. The walk is free but they like to charge $30 for the skywalk which in my opinion is a waste of time and money. The concrete trail on the 1st part is easy, the 2nd/top part is stairs and a little more work but easy enough. It take a ½ each way with stops for photos. Bring water, good shoes and sun screen.

Google just asked me to review this place so here it goes... I was mugged here on Monday night (1.15.18) Some teenage boys stole my phone right out of my hand shortly after sunset. Use extreme caution if visiting this site... especially alone at dusk. I had been there many times in the past and not had any problems so it’s unfortunate that this happened. Great place to see mazatlan from a distance, also great place to get exercise with an intense hike. This place as gotten fix over the years and is it's being renovated, but the trail and steps are better.
