Lovely ruins, it was worth to come I definitely recommend if you’re near by is worth to visit. We were amazed with the kindness of the guy that took us on the bike, he taught us some words in Mayan and the history of the ruins. Big ruins there’s plenty of space to go around.

We regret very much not getting a guide as the places we got to see where fabulous, we did not have the knowledge that of what the are besides the very few information tablets around the area. We were able to get little information from the gentleman that rode us all around the ruins which was very convenient as the ancient city cover a good area. Get a tour guide!

Very nice place. It's nice that it's almost entirely in the shade, but it's still a walk of about 3-4 km. In this heat, I recommend renting a bike. They offer them for about 150-200 pesos. We didn't and we regretted it. It was possible to miss it, but in that heat it was possible to take it.

Went there June 2023. These ruins are beautiful and literally in the middle of the jungle!!! Many options to view it…you can walk it bout 40min, bike or have a 2 seater umbrella bike with an onsite peddler…only $10 to view….

Really neat place to visit and wasn't too crowded. You can't climb the big tower steps but there are some smaller ones you can get on. This place was very cheap to get in and I would recommend renting a bike. It's not too far to walk but the biking was a fun experience. Bike rental was also cheap. Definitely worth visiting.

Beautiful place full of history. There are so much details that you could easily spend at least 5 hours to inspect most of the site. You wouldn't have check everything out. One of the most impressive archeological site in the area. Luckily it was not too crowded when we were there in the afternoon. Also no need to go from the first pyramids to the other with a bike. They will convince you that it is far away but if you are healthy and can walk 20-30 minutes you won't need it. If you are driving there, it is pretty easy from Valladolid, the road is in great condition and you do not even need a GPS, everything is well indicated. Parking was 80 pesos.

Mayan culture is very interesting. Coba has some very old temple's, walls and other buildings. I would recommend walking to the larger pyramid and taking the tricycle back- don't forget to tip your cyclist!

Lucky me - I visited the spot back in 2019 when climbing the pyramids was still allowed (meanwhile it‘s prohibited). Very impressive archeological site on extended grounds in the middle of the jungle. You can easily get around by rental bike or walk. Make sure to come as early in the morning as you can - the later the more people.

Amazing archeological site. Not many people around. The ruins are in the middle of the jungle so even on a hot sunny day you are in the trees shade. There are 2 main areas and they are about 1km away from each other. You can easily walk the whole site which would take under 2 hours. You can also either rent bikes or hire a taxi-bike

Fun cave cenote. Entrance fee is 100 pesos per person. Worth it I think! It’s dark inside but with the artificial light you can see something. Not that many stalactites and such, but they have two places to jump down into the water (both are quite high).

Absolutely gorgeous! Crystal clear water and fishes galore. 2 diving spots at 15ft and 30ft. Steep stairs. Recommend to take a dry bag, towels and water shoes.

The Cenote is beautiful inside, water has a 4 mt. depht and has a temperature of around 17°C. Life jackets are not mandatory but I think they should because you can easily fall in the water. There is a small and narrow ladder and down in the Cenote the space is limited.

Fabulous and affordable cenote near Coba. (100 pesos) The water was so clear and peaceful. It’s in a cave with an incredibly high dome. Very few people. We had fun jumping off the two platforms. This one is a lot like the other cenote, Multun-Ha across the main road. No jumping platforms at Multun but it’s just as beautiful and refreshing.

Crystal clear water; cool and refreshing after a day of visiting ruins. There are two platforms if you date to do some high dives. The lower one is around 15 ft, and the upper one approaches 25 ft. The water is more than deep enough for either dive.

We loved this cenote. We went there and it was empty. The stairs are a little bit old and you feel the dense air but the ater… wow! So clear. It’s really beautiful and purifying .

One of a kind experience of jumping off crazy high platforms into a cool cave! Best cenote in the area! Not much crowds there too! (We went midday on Tuesday) The road is mostly drive able for any car but still drive at your own risk. (It is a dirt road) I recommend this cenote!

The best out of the “three cenotes” in the area with the 3m and 5m jumps. Great way to continue the day after visiting Cobá. The cost is 100MXN per person. Life vests are optional at no charge. You have to shower before using the cenote. We were there on Monday around 3pm and it was quite busy, but it was a very fun crowd 😁 recommend visiting “El Ranchito” restaurant after.

Worth a swim after wandering Coba ruins. It's entirely enclosed but well lit with light and ventilation. There are many steep steps down which could be an issue for some people, but worth it if you're able. There's a jumping platform at 10m and then 5m. The water is clear and cool with fish swimming around. It's quite a unique experience that I would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience! Spiral staircase to descend is a little dated, but sturdy. The view and water is stunning. The water is extremely clear. Was told the depth of the cenote is about 45 feet. Very much worth the stop. They have bathroom changing areas as well, and life jackets to rent.

This is a must visit cenote! We drive from Tulum and it was so worth it! 100 peso per person. Giant cave with super clear and deep water. Two jumping platforms. We had so much fun we didn’t want to leave!

Just go. You won’t be sorry. Steep steps to walk down but clean and not slippery with sturdy handrails. Water is cool, clean and crystal clear. Mot mots and bats flying around. Well lit and well ventilated.

Entirely enclosed with very clear water. It was a bit crowded when we were there. Life jackets were optional but I’d definitely wear one next time—it’s so deep! I preferred the open cenotes more but the staircase down was pretty cool to walk down. Not for young children without life jackets, but these are available with admission.

Fresh, clean and beautiful! This cenote is made from limestone so you will not see much wild life in the water. In fact we only saw two fish. The water is crystal clear and you can see the bottom of the cave. You are asked to shower before and you can rent a life jacket. The cost was a good price. Water was not cold. I highly recommend.

Great place to visit and have a relaxing swim in fresh water pool in a cavern. Just be careful with whom you book your tour.

Hidden cenote that is off the beaten path. 100 pesos to enter. Life jackets are available but not mandatory. Went early afternoon on a weekday, and at most, their were 8 other people swimming. At one point I was the only one swimming. Spent 2 hours. Bring your own food/snacks as their are none available to purchase. Also FYI their generator is a little loud but it didn't bother me.

Deep cave center. Have to walk down 50 feet but it's totally worth it. No fish there but highly recommended for diving. Tickets usually 100 pesos and lifejackets are available.

Very clean remember two years ago there wasn’t the fan which was noisy. cold water very nice though. Paid 100 pesos per person and you can rent vest and snorkel gear. 67 stairs to walk down to the cenote. They have showers and changing room and clean bathrooms.

Awesome experience. Seeing the bottom of a well filled with fresh drinking water is a gift from nature. You must go! We booked with a guy outside of Emporio Cancun. He was cheaper, but we opted for the hotel presentation. Not so bad with free buffet style breakfast.

The cost is $100mxn pesos per person and $50 mxn pesos for life vests. Being a decent swimmer, I still got one, as the cenote can be a little intimidating. Must have good knees to go down 18 meters of steps and then back up. Once you are in the cave, you are in awe. Place was not crowded. It is not an all day thing , but it is beautiful. Not for the claustrophobic. There is underwater life of fish. Pretty cool experience over all.

Nice place, you will need to take a shower before going downstairs. You can borrow their swimming vests for $2, you will need it for sure if you don't know how to swim. I'm giving it 4 stars cause although it is beautiful, the place smelled a little weird, might be for the wood.

We visited this small kozy cenote late in the afternoon. Drove there by car, had to pay just 100 pesos each to go in. Cenote is beautifull and not so crowded (maybe because we were quite late). All in all great petite place to visit!

Nice cavern Cenote with very clear water near Coba. Price without swimming is 100 Pesos, if you like to swim you to pay an upcharge of 50Pesos for the mandatory vests.

Beautiful cenote deep underground with deep, clear waters. We paid 100 pesos per person to enter, worth it! And it was not busy at all :)

This is a closed cenote meaning they it is in a cave. The price is 100 pesos per person and lifevest is optional. The water is super clear and the cenotes maximum depth is 30 meters. There is a platform for jumping. You need to go down z17 meters of steps We were the only ones there when we visited

This was our least favourite of the 3 cenotes you could visit in the area. Mainly because there was a generator running for the lights (we assumed) and the noise was awful. We left right away and went back to the other ones. This one was also incredibly busy compared to the smaller ones across the street. Also disappointing that you have to buy tickets to all 3 now. You used to be able to buy one ticket that was a pass for the 3.

Very refreshing water and warmer than other cenote’s ~ 25 C very clean but a little stuffy.

Our group did the Chichén Itzá tour. TL;DR I would not recommend. This is a tourist trap. The day starts with pickup at 7:45 AM. They are on time, which was appreciated. A taxi will take you to the main tour bus. The tour guides give some Mayan history on the first ride, it’s a nice touch, but it leads into a sales pitch to buy a Mayan birth calendar. It is a 2-hour trip to the first stop, which is the “Mayan cultural center”…. It’s a gift shop. Extremely poor taste stopping at a gift shop before seeing Chichén Itzá. I was certainly not going to buy anything before even seeing Chichén Itzá. The stop there is over an hour just trying to sell you products. The next stop is Chichén Itzá. It’s only a 2-hour stop. Certainly not enough time to see the whole site. It’s a guided tour and the tour guide was very animated, but they do not provide enough time on the site to actually see the sites and be on a slowly guided tour. Chichén Itzá is beautiful and was the best part of this experience. After the short 2 hours, it’s lunch time. The bus ride back is when you get your “free drink”, which is a shot of overpriced weak liquor they’re trying to sell you. The “restaurant” is at the gift shop. They could have made this one stop and gave more time at Chichén Itzá, but like I said this is a tourist trap for your money. For the food, DO NOT EAT IT! 3/4 people in my group were sick after our trip when this was the only full meal we had that day. No drink is included, not even the complimentary water. The “restaurant” is visibly dirty, the food is mediocre, and it is not safe for COVID. It’s a self serve buffet. This leads me into my next point, this trip is not safe for COVID. While the tour guide did bring up halfway through our trip to keep your mask on, it was not enforced at all on the bus. It was not safe and many passengers were not wearing their mask. They lied when they stated this would be enforced. If I knew this would occur, I would have never booked at all. After lunch was the trip to the cenote. This stop was only an hour. So 8 hours into our trip we’ve only had 3 hours of actual activities. The cenote was small and crowded with other tours they conduct. It was enjoyable, but was only an hour of swimming and waiting on line to jump in. The final stop is a town in Yucatán state. It’s only a 20 minute stop to buy something from street vendors. After this it’s the 2-hour drive back to Quintana Roo. If you made it through this whole review, this is what is to be expected from the 12-hour day. 3.3 hours of activities and 8.7 hours of travel and sales pitches. Personally, not for me at all and I wish I just found a private way to get to Chichén Itzá. Not worth the time or money. If you like a guided tour and constantly being asked to buy products, this trip is for you.

Satisfying Tulum + Cenote + Lagoon tour with Coba Sunset. Daniel kept us sane through crowds at Tulum. Later he told us that our arrival time of approximately 10.30 am was the busiest time of the day. If you book a taxi/bus for an entire group and plan on getting to the Ruins at 9am when they open traffic drops off dramatically and you'll (relatively speaking) have the place to yourself. PM if you want Daniel's contacts for scheduling him to meet you at Tulum parking lot to go on thereafter. Bottom line mid day Tulum is nuts and not worth it. This isn't the guides fault but you should be aware. We then moved on with Marco (who is El Chingon) and kept us moving really well and quickly through Casa Tortuga Tulum Cenote and the fantastic Tres Portes Cenote swim. We then moved onto the Yal- Kul lagoon at Akumal which was formed when the roof of a cavern collapsed making a natural salt and fresh water tropical fish aquarium. Fimally this was topped off with a big and good lunch at Cuerva del Pescado Back early! Unheard of for a trip

Sold on the all day tour of Chenchitza and Centone tour. Not enough time at each location. Snack n drink were horrible. Thank God we weren't diabetic they gave us one pack of fig network strawberry cookie and juice box for a 3 1/2 hr bus ride to and from. Paid $300 bucks for the two of is totally not worth it! Tour guide was knowledgeable that was the only decent part.

We booked a private tour to Tulum, cenote and Akumal Sea Turtles. Abdi was our guide and Yvette was our driver. The tour was well paced and timed. Abdi got all our tickets for each stop and got us to each activity seamlessly. Abdi took us to a local restaurant in Akumal, authentic and great. Tulum was great, Cenote refreshing and Sea Turtles and absolute highlight. Yvette always dropped us at the entrance and was waiting to pick us up as well. VIP day! Highly recommend private tour w Coba Sunset.

Chetcenitsu Mayan Ruins I hope you get Ylysses as a tour guide! He was AMAZING! We enjoyed the history lesson and Mayan culture lesson as much as touring the ruins. Thank Ylysses!! Our family loved it! it made our trip!

We started our day pretty bad with another vendor screwing us up and cancelled our Chichen Itza trip and Sunwing was able to send another vendor Coba Sunset. We were upset that our excursion was changed to another one. But our tour guide ABDIEL and and our driver OSWALDO made our trip really fun. They were professional, had great interpersonal skills, and they both catered to our wants and needs. Our mood changed after meeting these two. They took us to local food truck like we asked for. They took us to other Mayan archeological sites and Cenote. I personally would recommend Coba Sunset for any tours in Mexico.

We had the best day of our trip with an excursion from Coba Sunset. We did the cenote swim, snorkeling in a peninsula and Tulum ruins tour with lunch. AMAZING. The timing of the day flowed so well, our driver was great and Marcos our guide was so kind, knowledgable and fun. He even took photos for us in the cenote and air dropped them to us later. He worked really hard having Spanish speaking and English speaking guests, translating for both of us all day. The snorkeling was great and we saw so many different kinds of fish. Highlight and absolutely worth the money. Gracias Marcos!

Ulises was amazing and informative. The information and his delivery of the information that he gave us in the bus was great, he had pictures, artifacts.... shared personal information about his own experiences at the places we were about to see, also, what to expect, what to to be leary of, things we shouldn't take off the bus, where to meet... and was very accommodating when we had to rush back to the store. The tour itself of chichen itza and the cenote, the stop at Kaua, all of it... even in 106 degree weather, was such an amazing experience. I would recommend this tour! Gracias Ulises! This company, Coba Sunset Tours, are one you really want to avoid. We booked this through our Air Canada rep, because we trusted our airline, and it was certainly a major mistake. I gather that there are much better companies in the area. In a short summary: the trip is long, of poor quality and it's a big grift. It's all about selling you something. The way they do it is sneaky and underhanded. They put the product in your hands on the bus and then afterwards tell you the price, trying to make people feel bad if they don't buy it. And the tour guide showing their displeasure when you don't. It's a purposeful guilt tactic and one that I have never seen. I've been on tours across the world, including in Latin America, and never have I seen them non stop selling in this kind of way. Longer detailed version: - first, we got up for 7:20, supposed to leave at 7:30, but they forgot us so they had to send another transfer vehicle to get us to the main bus an hour later. - we begin the journey to "the" Mayan cultural centre. I say "the" because I thought that maybe this was a legitimate, state sanctioned centre to promote Mayan history. It is clearly not. On the way there the tour guide's information was scattered and his English was poor. He begins with some Mayan historical information, and then spends time with the first pitch to sell you a Mayan birth certificate. Which he says they will make while you eat lunch (which also happens at this centre). He puts the order papers in everyone's hands, and then says "the price is affordable" dithering around before finally telling you the price. Unfortunately this was just the beginning of the grift. - we get to the centre and we are told to line up for a picture with Mayan dancers. We line up, the guide takes our picture with our own phones. But what I didn't realize until later, was that he had another guy also taking everyone's picture simultaneously with his phone. - we are then encouraged to buy things at the centre which are all massively overpriced. Like beyond your typical gift shop pricing. - lunch was fine, but not even water was included. - we get back to the bus, go to chichen itza. It was so hot, and while several other tour guides on the site took their groups to shaded areas or had provided umbrellas, our guy Vik decided to bring us out to the hot sun, where we couldn't hear him properly because of the large group and we had no headsets unlike, again, other tour groups on the site. Many of us left the guided tour and went under the shade for reprieve before going back out to see the ruins on our own. - we then go to a cenote, which was clearly just a local hangout. Very bizarre vibe. But on the way there, this other guy gets on board the bus. Tour guide Vik tells us he's from the area and wants to thank us for coming. He pours us up a shot of Mayan liqueur, which is licorice and honey flavoured. We do the shot and then, of course, there's a catch! He then passes out small flasks of this liqueur with a pixelated picture of our pictures with the Mayan performers from earlier! He passes them all down the bus, for folks to keep theirs and pass the others on. He dithers around saying it's "almost free" and then proceeds to tell us it's $25 US. This guy was an absolute clown. And it greatly irritated me because I hadn't even known they were taking my picture earlier. Very underhanded. - we then proceed to this town called Valladolid, only about 10 minutes away from the Cenote. On the way there Vik gives some info on the town and then says "we're going to a shop so you can access free washrooms and a free tequila tasting. He kept making this pitch as we were stuck in traffic on the way to this town. Now it's funny, because we had a decent washroom on the bus.. it was clearly a deal they had rigged up with the shop. As we exited the bus, he tried to ferry us into the shop, but many of us went across the town square to see the nice church instead. -Find a company that will focus on the cultural components without the constant grift.

Booked the Tulum, Cenote and sea turtles tour from the hotel concierge. He booked us via Coba Sunset tours. We are a family of five with three younger kids (8,10 & 12) and it's not always easy keeping all of us entertained and excited about all day tours. Fernando and Abraham took good care of us. All three sites and activities were great. Kids had a great time, specially at the Cenote and snorkeling with the turtles. Fernando was very knowledgeable and kept the group entertained with facts and jokes. Highly recommended! We finished the day with tacos at a local restaurant in Akumal.

My wife and I have been on several tours and this is by far the worst ever. Misleading and under delivers. Utterly disappointing. We paid an extra $30 US per person for a premium tour package to Chichen Itza only to discover at the lunch that we were only allowed 1 water or cola. So basically $60 US extra for 2 bottles of water. Saying nothing of the fact that we did not receive other inclusions for the “premium” package. Let’s not forget 2 days of vomit and diarrhea from the food poisoning. Further, it took us 4 hours each way because of the unusual number of stops. This was an all day infomercial on wheels. They tried to sell us on the bus and stopped at multiple shops to entice shopping. Have no problem paying for a quality tour but we felt ripped off.

We rented a taxi and went to coba. There was just a lot of rain that just came through, so the lot was a lot of water in the parking lot. We got there really early, so there were not many people inside. There were people that are able to guide you, and others that will give you a ride or you can rent a bike. It was a bit rainy and we brought ponchos, so we just walked around. The mosquitoes were bad, we wish we brought bug spray. Our cab driver waited for us, which is good I don’t know how we would have gotten back to the hotel otherwise.

When you initially enter the road to get to Sac Actún, there is a road block where they will try to persuade you to visit Dos Ojos Cenote. You do not have to purchase this access to pass and this does not cover your entrance to Sac Actún!! We purchased our tickets directly from the guide at Sac Actún after passing this blockade. We chose this cenote based on the beautiful photos and reviews we saw online and it is 1000% worth it!! Our guide, Isa, was AMAZING!! He gave us all the insight to make our trip worth every penny!! He is a local guide so he is extremely knowledgeable about the cave system, age and any other questions you might have. I would also recommend that you use the wetsuit included with your access purchase (it’s very cold and you are down in the cave for extended time) and be sure to bring a waterproof cover for your phone!

Amazing experience, probably the highlight for our whole trip to Mexico. Water was much warmer than we expected, though we used wet suits. I read a lot of reviews before choosing this place and I did not regret it. Don't look at the photos, they don't tell the full story. The fun part starts when you swim / snorkel into the caves. 40 USD / 650 MXN per person for 1 hour tour.

Amazing! Beautiful cave cenote, with crystal clear waters and incredible rock formations (estalactites, estalagmites and marine fossils). Guided tour with groups of up to 10 people cost MX$650 or US$35 per person, and it lasts between 45 to 60 minutes. We got there early, and there’s a tolerance of 20 minutes for a group to form, the group leaves with the people who arrived in these 20 minutes (mine had only 5 people in total).

The most beautiful cenote we’ve visited in Tulum! It was a different world in here, seeing all the stalactites and stalagmites, underwater caves, it was really amazing. Our tour guide, Jose, knows his stuff and speaks very good English. Definitely a must visit!

This cenote is amazing. The best cenote we have been in and we have been to several. Don’t waste your time going to other cenotes. Our guide was great very knowledgeable about the history and the cenote. Very funny and entertaining as well as helpful. Worth every peso we spent. So beautiful.

We had an absolutely unforgettable experience, the highlight of our entire trip! For just $40 USD per person (card accepted) it was worth every penny. Going with a guide is a must, but I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re claustrophobic. The water is chilly, so make sure to wear the provided wet suit. The package includes snorkel gear, the suit, and a knowledgeable guide, making it an all-inclusive adventure. While transportation might be an additional cost (we chose to drive), the best part? You can bring your phone along and the guide will take incredible pictures of you, just make sure it’s safely encased in a waterproof cover! Please remember to bring cash to tip your guide! One of the most beautiful places our family has ever visited. 2 of our kids put this in their "top 3 but not number 2 or 3". Crystal clear water and breathtaking views. Highly recommend going all the way down the road to get to this. All the experience of Rio Secreto without all the commercialization.

We had an amazing experience here. I searched for lots of reviews and chose Sac Actun. The water was super clean which is an incredibly stunning emerald color and nice for refreshing. 11yrs my son said it was the most memorable thing in Mexico and good to know real geology. Highly recommend this place.

Such a great experience. We were afraid of swimming so Issa our tour guide, let us latch on to his life jacket and took us through the whole cavern!!! The new stalactites, bats, little fish everything was phenomenal.You can snorkel a bit too to check the Definitely take the life jackets and wet suit, since most of the cenote is underwater. The total cost is 650pesos/35$ per person as of April 2022. The experience and service value is way beyond the price.

An out of this world kind of experience! We did 10 cenotes and this one is definitely in our top 3! It was 650 pesos per person and it included the guide and the equipment! A very good price for what it is worth! The cenote is mostly enclosed, very wide, complexe, absolutely unique and stunningly beautiful! My boyfriend and I were there on a sunday afternoon on the last tour of the day and had the chance to have a guide only for us two! He was super nice and gave us precious knowledge about mayan culture and the cenote system in Yucatan! Thank you for the incredible experience!

We went on the hour tour with wet suit, lifejacket and snorkel provided. It's a bit pricier than other cenotes but this takes you into the caves. It was very cool and spooky at times! The guide was great. Bring a waterproof pouch or by one there and the guy will take photos of you during the tour

This was such a fun and great experience. One of the best cenotes I’ve been to so far. It’s roughly 7 km from the main road 307. The unfinished, rocky road makes you fell excited as you’ll find yourself in the heart of the wildlife. As of July 2023, the entry fee is 650 pesos per person, if you’re joining with a group. They also have a private tour option as well. The fee covers the equipment like wet suit, life jacket, snorkels. You can also buy a phone protector for 200 pesos, if you don’t have it already. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable about the cave and its formation. This is a must-see location if you’re ever in Tulum.

One of the coolest Cenotes in the area! It’s past all the other Centoes at the end of an 3 mile dirt road. The setting is just magical! Our guide changed us $45 per person. He was very helpful and didn’t rush us, he let us take our time enjoying snorkeling the under water cavern system. The water was blue and clear! It was a unique experience very mystical! A treasure to find!

Not a tourist trap!! THIS is the genuine cenotes experience we were looking for! It’s not a simple swimming hole like a lot of the surrounding cenotes are - you are given wetsuits and life preservers and flashlights because you are guided deep into the caves. If you are afraid of bats (we love them) or if you get claustrophobic (we are not) or if you can’t swim (we can) this might not be the experience for you! But this was exactly what we were looking for. It’s an hour guided tour for $40USD which was the perfect length and a completely fair price in our opinion. We went around 2:45, later in the afternoon, so there was only 1 other couple with us on our guided tour. They genuinely want to preserve the natural formations of these caves so they take active measures to ensure it doesn’t become an overcrowded tourist destination. There are no restaurants or shops here for that reason. We’d recommend it to our friends and family!

This cenote was a unique experience and not like any other visit to a cave that I've done elsewhere. It really exceeded expectations, we had planned to visit Dos Otros but at the last minute a local suggested this instead. Very happy we switched plans. If you are a reasonable swimmer and don't have kids under 12 the longer trip is worth the extra time. The water isn't cold but you will be in it for 45+ minutes so if you want to enjoy it, then use the wetsuits provided. Of course there are other types of cenote which are fully or semi open, some of which have aquatic wildlife, if you don't like the idea of swimming in caves, but this is really beautiful and a truly special place. Bany was our guide, he was excellent and helped to guide us through the caves and added further light to the already partially lit caves, which allowed us to take some good photos and videos. We took a group tour at 650 pesos per person. There are much more expensive private tours which you could do. We were happy with our group but i can imagine it being less enjoyable with the wrong group.

If I could only give 6 stars once on google, this is where I would use it. I had high expectations, but they were far exceeded. I've seen a lot of places in the world (I think I've reached 50 countries) and this is definitely in the top 3. I wouldn't say number 1 lest others get upset :) If you are lucky enough to catch a small group, the experience will be even more impressive. When you arrive you're told you have to wait a bit for more people to come so you can form a bigger group, but the maximum waiting time is 20 minutes, during which time you can take photos, change, go for a shower etc. If no more tourists come, you'll only leave 2-3-5 or however many gathered in 20 minutes Don't miss this location! Everything is at the highest level: cenote, people, facilities

I'm glad I listened to the great reviews! This place is very magical. You can see many different depths underwater and above the water. The stalagmites and stalactites are amazing in their formations. You can see tree roots coming all the way through the ground into the caves to reach the water, it's amazing. There are bats the cave. The water isn't too cold with the wetsuits they provide, and they are very sanitary and professional. I let my keys with them, and everything was VERY SAFE. I can't believe that person left a review saying someone went into their car and took their credit card. I think they were just trying to deter business from this place. They're very honest and great people. I WEAR GLASSES and I was able to take them into the cave. My guide Carlos kept them for me when I put my snorkel mask on. You might want to bring some glasses cleaner with you for afterwards since they get wet.

We almost went to Cenote Dos Ojos but after a little more digging online, we came across Cenotes Sac Actun. Although it's a little further inland (and if you take a taxi you may want to arrange for them to wait for you - which it turns out they're very happy to do without that much added cost!), it is very worth it. You go on a wonderful cave tour (with life vests, wetsuit, and goggles included with your cost of $40 USD) that is mesmerizing with the most helpful/friendly guide. We did the public tour around 10:30 on a weekday and ended up in a lovely group of 6. *Note: There are some parts that get somewhat narrow and enclosed so if you are claustrophobic do be advised.

Very quiet and peaceful experience in a sacred place. Carlo was an excellent guide. He explained much of the history of the place and answered all of our questions. This is a cenote that is deep in the jungle and has a very non-commercial feel to it which makes it one of my favorites in the area. Entering with a guide is mandatory because of the complexity of the cave. Using the available wet suit is a good idea, too. No restaurant on the premises, but there are bathrooms and showers. Definitely not a party spot, so if you're looking to spend a day hanging out at a cenote this is not the one. You go in with a guide for about an hour and then you leave.

Do not pay for Dos Ojos at the gate. Tell them you are going to Sac Actun and they will let you pass. The road is a bit sketch but the tour is worth it. Beautiful snorkeling. Would recommend the wetsuit unless you are really warm blooded. Takes about 45 minutes to tour. They will rent you a cell phone case if you don’t have one.

Such a cool experience! We were lucky enough to do the extended tour and it was a trip highlight. It’s off the beaten path and past 5+ other cenotes. Keep going it’s worth it! You get paired with others, so be prepared for that, but we loved our group and had a fun time! It’s a beautiful and spiritual place.
