Goes without saying please Visit this!!! Absolutely stunning panoramic view of the whole city and beyond! What we Absolutely loved was that on the windows they have described what we are seeing and the meaning behind it. The staff is so courteous and they even have clear window panes to look underneath. We made a reservation but when we got there the lines were minimal (I'm sure because of covid) you can also dine there but definitely need reservation for that!

If you are visiting Auckland and have time a must is the Sky Tower. Once up the Sky Deck which is the Main observation area you can get 360-degree view of Auckland and on a clear day the views are just phenomenal, it's said you can see 51 miles from the sky tower. Yes I wouldn't say it's a cheap experience but it's certainly worth it even if it's just once you do it. The tower also is so well built with high strength, high performance concrete, it's also suspected that during up to a 8.0 magnitude earthquake the tower would still stand and honestly you can believe this by just looking at it. When visiting we found the staff to be very welcoming and friendly and overall there isn't much else to say other than look at the pictures and see for yourself if it's something you want to witness for real.

I give it 5 stars, however, with a minus. You really get amazing views of the Auckland. You see the city sprawling out to all sides. However, comparing with similar attractions in similar countries it is a bit shabby and aged.

Nice views from both decks. Crowded but well organized. Worth a 1-2 hour visit. NZ$75 for a couple in Dec 2023 plus add-ons if you want to try the walk or sky jump.

I have been here twice before, once during the day, another for dinner on the revolving restaurant. This time was 7pm on a Monday evening when the visibility was amazing. The panoramic view of our city make me love it more and more. I would recommend the 60 floor -sky deck-200 meters above and the bridge and motorway look stunning. Particularly the window is much clearer on Sky Deck. I also bought a pair of red merino gloves. God bless Auckland, God bless our NZ.

Used our free $100 Auckland voucher today which included $25 free gift card for the gift shop. The front counter person didn't mention anything about it, it wasn't a big deal though. All the staff mbrs we came into contact with were friendly. My kids enjoyed it. It was busy, but not over crowded. Worth the freebie, however I forgot to validate my parking n since we were there all up less than 1h10mins my parking was casual rate of $24 😢😢 will return in the near future

A must visit in Auckland! Of all their activities we only tried the VR experience which was short but fun. Watched a man do the sky jump, looks very scary but fun!! Had a drink and snack at the cafe with awesome views. Pics don't do it justice. Definitely recommend a visit!

Such a beautiful view at night time, has the sky bar which was busy so opted for the walk around instead. Recommend booking if wanting to enjoy a beverage at the sky bar. Also 2 adults for 70 vs 40 pp was great value

Two of us did the 'sun and stars' entry today. This allows a day and a night visit. Well worth it. The stars experience was wonderful on the upper level (60). Great information bites everywhere, and the staff were excellent, friendly and informative. I would have liked a Cafe onsite. The bar would have done, but with no under 18s allowed, it was not an option. It would have been lovely to just sit with a coffee and look out. Maybe a dining experience will need to be next visit.

The Sky Tower is a remarkable piece of architecture. The views of Auckland are absolutely stunning and no photo or video can replicate. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. There were binocular viewers that look like they needed a coin to operate but they were free for use. I highly (pun intended) recommend this attraction.

Very iconic views and definitely worth it if you're making a trip to Auckland. Great way to see the entire city, grab a cocktail, or dinner reservations. If you eat at the restaurant, you get discounted tickets. Walking along the clear glass floor was a little scary, but super safe. Bungee jumpers can be seen jumping off which is neat to see. Elevators are extremely fast and overall it's a very easy experience.

Spectacular views, entry was included with our reservation at the Orbit Restaurant so that‘s a bonus! Really cool to see the city from above, some sections have glass floors (makes you realize just HOW high up you are!). A must do when you‘re in Auckland!

Very good. Prices are a bit steep but if you’ve never been it’s a great experience! I would recommend trying to visit on a sunny/clear day as on foggy days it can be hard to see Also recommend going up to the sky deck, which is the highest level; it doesn’t cost anymore and provides a massive view.

Friendly staff from the ground up to the sky deck. Good place to bring your visiting families. The album at the exit costs $55 which is overpriced, but somewhat expected at this touristy place. We visited on a Saturday but the place is not that packed. I recommend booking your tickets via Klook!

A simply incredible experience as one of the things you must do when in Auckland. The views are stunning. Friendly staff. Toilets and food available at the top.

Seattle has their Space Needle, Toronto has their CN Tower and Auckland has their Sky Tower. All have similar purposes as a communication towers, tourist attraction/ Observation deck and iconic land mark that can be seen long distances away. I find these towers very useful as a visual land reference when walking about in an unfamiliar city. I also like how they change the light colours of the towers at night. Wonderful experience. No time pressure, plenty of time to admire the views and take pictures. Be careful if you buy tickets in advance, we accidentally bought two lots of two admissions and they would not refund our mistake. Please read the details carefully.

Visited on a Sunday morning, no queue getting in and up the tower, bought my ticket on the day no hassle quick and easy, I ended up spending a couple hours checking out the views floor 51 is the main observation deck, but you can go up to floor 60 for sky deck, incredible views, the glass seemed cleaner on the top floor but as you can do the tower walk I guess it's easier to keep clean who knows, the sky deck floor did get busier and there was a queue to get back down the one lift but enjoying the view it's easy to either wait or do another lap around and enjoy the view again, watching the boats in and out of the harbour, well worth a visit in my opinion a good way to see the city (helps getting bearings for wandering around the city for me)

A great way to see the whole city and enjoy the sights. It's also a thrilling time if you want to bungee jump or do the Skywalk which isn't for the faint of heart. The sky bar is also very enjoyable.The trip to the Sky Tower in Auckland was exhilarating. The panoramic views from the observation deck were breathtaking, offering a stunning perspective of the city and its surroundings. The glass floor added an extra thrill, making it a memorable experience. Well worth it. Great information bites everywhere, and the staff were excellent, friendly and informative. A quick ride to the top via the elevator and outstanding views of Auckland spread out before us. The platform is a little shy of 200m above the ground and for the more adventurous you can do a 360° walk around outside (while attached to a harness) or even simulate a free fall off the side (being slowed by your lines before hitting the sidewalk). For the less brave, looking down at the tiny cars below, while standing on the thick toughened glass in the viewing platform, might be more than enough to make your heart race.

One of the best place to visit in Auckland. It’s joint through Casino. Access for everyone. Paid entry to tower top . Different levels to visit. Awesome view of Auckland from the top.

We were very confused when we got there as we couldn't find the entrance. You have to go inside the casino then down the escalator. We had bought online tickets which included the Hop on/off bus & the email said there was no need to print them, but when we got to the desk, ready to go into the tower, we were told to go back outside & have them printed at the bus stop. So we weren't very impressed with that. The views are very good, but it is definitely over priced.

As this was the third we'd been up in six weeks the novelty had started to wear off. It's still worth doing but perhaps Auckland has less to see than other cities with sky towers. Reasonably priced but disappointing that you can't get a drink unless you pre book your visit so spur of the moment decisions are not the best.

Soared up to top in just 4 seconds. A lot of visitors had to turn away from the front window that showed the climb to the top but not me. It was an adrenaline rush. Off the elevator, the whole city is beneath your feet. Auckland is beautiful. The observation deck is clean, bright and tall. There are wooden benches to sit on while observing the view. There are also transparent mats for those daring to stand on. Caused my heart to flutter for a moment. Missing is a souvenir shop at the top or a kiosk for drinks. Take another lift to get up higher and see sky jumpers risk their life for 5 seconds of their life.

Got be one of the best places to take your kids for some fun, history and culture. Hours of fun for them. Though these days I prefer to relax at the Cafe or out side while the older kids explore. That said I do visit the new displays and exhibits. The Greek one was fascinating.

Staff are always friendly and professional. It’s not just about history but also New Zealand culture and nature. My kids love this museum, not only there is a kid zone, but also volcanoes where they get to learn about the history of volcanic eruptions in NZ and experience a simulation of the eruption. There also different exhibitions throughout the year.

Spectacular museum!! Plenty to see and do. We spent 4 hours there exploring and immersing ourselves in Maori Culture. The TRexs are not to be missed and we had fun with locating the AR dinos throughout the museum! Definitely worth the price of admission.

A must see if you are visiting Auckland. Don't get misled by the name, there are entire floors for the Aboriginal people in New Zealand and Polinician islands, and for the natural history of the region. I didn't even go to the 3rd level which is the war museum, that was not what I was after. In-fact this is the only place I come across where you can experience the heritage of the Maori people. The Maori villages I visited are just commercial tourist attractions, except for the nature.

A place with lot to learn, from Maori history to world wars, from ancient animals to modern animals, volcanos, asian art, and many more. A very informative sections on various different topics. My favourite is the volcano section. Definitely try out the stimulation. There are activities for kids as well. I recommend going in the morning around the time they open, because if you really want to read through information and get to know things, it will take time.

Excellent place to visit for rainy day - indoor activities. We visited the current exhibition-Egypt - in the time of Pharaohs. Very informative and unique displays. They have a gift shop which have good selections of souvenirs. The restaurant inside there is very good too. We enjoyed the visit.

Went for the Egyptian Exhibition and totally love it! The gallery presents remarkable collection of artifacts abd relics from Ancient Egypt. The whole exhibition is thoughtfully curated, with detailed information to shed lights on various aspects of Egyptian life.

Excellent attraction to spend the day at. You have the cafe insude plus the grounds to picnic. Stunning building both outside and in with decorative features around the outside of the museum. Has the Botanical Gardens near and great views of the City.

One of the best museums I’ve ever been to. The name is a bit misleading as the non-war exhibits were the real standout for me. The Maroi displays were great as was the Auckland life expo and the NZ photos. Allow yourself 3-4hours to get around and a bit more to see the botanics and walk up the bloody hills to get there.

Went to see Peter - fantastic to see an example up close. Overall the museum is a pretty good stop. Lines can be a little long, and some of the 'modern' exhibit styles struggle to present a cohesive narrative (why are these things here together?). But the majority of the exhibits are well put together and show a rich history with good background information.

We spent half a day here. It was really interesting to see all the different areas and displays. Kids loved the section where they could explore the animals. And the volcano eruption experience was really good!

The best museum to visit in New Zealand thanks to the Māori cultural performance. It started with a beautiful smile and welcome at the ticket counter. You have to do the Māori cultural performance. They were beyond amazing and what was said, taught, sung and performed was so emotional, inspiring, and spot on true. It is not a show, it is a glimpse into a way of life, and you are lucky if you get the chance to experience that.

Not just a museum, an experience. The building itself is amazing ! Sections : WW, Pacific islands, volcanoes and earthquakes, antiquity, rocks, contemporary collections about the city of Auckland... Just go, you won't be disappointed.

Was visiting as part of our cruise. Walked from the dock in Auckland. Beautiful and at times challenging walk. Arrived at museum to find international guests are required to pay to enter. Chose to walk around surroundings and gardens instead.

If u are a residence of Auckland, u are eligible for free entrance. Working holiday visa holders can also enjoy this benefit. Will be great if u can spend half day here exploring. Unfortunately the T-Rex fossil will be taken down for good from 11 Dec 2023 onwards. Might need to ask the museum management when will it be put back into display.

What a fabulous museum. Awesome displays and special exhibitions. We did a guided tour for an hour; highly recommended. I loved the photographic display by Robin Morrison; special photos of the Sth Is....and the people of that time. We need to return; we were there for 3+ hours but just scratched the surface

Great place to visit plenty to see, would have preferred to see more information about weapons over the years. The First World War exhibition was sanitized with little about injuries and effects on soldiers coming back. The top floor was saddest with lists of the dead, what a great loss to all.

It was pretty cloudy today but the zoo was fantastic. A few rain showers came thru and there were lots of nice places to shelter. Saw all the animals (even the kiwis!) except the otters which hid. The cafes were nicely located around but we brought our own food as too expensive for the family otherwise. Got a good entertainment club discount for entry too.

Awesome place. The animals seems very happy and well maintained. Also, the staff members are kind and always around if you need something. Of course, the weekends are crowded and it makes some animals get shy. I strongly recommend get a subscription if you are Auckland resident. Students, seniors, and kids have discount on the day pass. Library card works as a proof of residence.

We had a blast observing the beautiful animals at Auckland Zoo. The facilities were clean and well organized. The exhibits were appropriately sized for the animals and had plenty of toys, items, and environmental opportunities for enrichment. I recommend visiting here.

The animals are kept beautifully, there is a real sense of their natural habitat and there are plenty to keep you interested for a couple of hours or so. I found it difficult to find my way around and I'm normally pretty good at map reading. I kept ending up in the same place over and over. There looked to be plenty of parking on site, but you will have to pay. I arrived by public transport from city centre 11T or 11W which drops you couple of hundred meters away. Overall a good day.

Lots of animals, also exotic ones. The place is well looked after and staff is helpful and friendly. Kids loved it and if you want to take your time to explore and experience the behaviour of various animals, a seasonal pass or whatever, is probably a good investment. Always a successful day out.

Auckland residents can enjoy discount by their address proof...such as library card...etc... The gift shop got some funny dolls for kids. The staffs are excellent and polite for assistance. Can spend one day on the zoo as they got animal show at different period.

Love this Zoo. We got there Early so we got a good Park. Bookings are essential at the moment. Food was OK though they did seem a little stressed as there was a large amount of people. All up the Animals seem happy and healthy and you are more likely to see them out and about if you go early.

Really enjoyed my visit. The Zoo was very tidy, heaps of volunteers with lots of interesting information. It was really nice that staff and volunteers would stop and talk to you. My 2 year old had the best time. All the walking paths were wheelchair and pram friendly. Lots of seating areas for a picnic. Thank you very much

Loved the experience. Very nicely planned Zoo. My kid loved it. We enjoyed as well. 15 minutes drive from Auckland CBD area. Very convenient parking. Galapagos Tortoise are one of the highlights of the the Zoo. They are huge.

Really enjoyed our visit. Was super busy (school holidays) but still got to see most of the animals. Zoo workers were friendly, a good amount of toilets and places to stop and sit. Plenty of play areas for kids and lots of space for them to roam around. We stopped at the lookout cafe which was lovely, friendly staff too. Signs were clear so we could find our way around quite easily. Maps however were all in Maori, no English so found that a bit hard, had to rely on the images, not sure if that was only temporary because we went during Matariki though. Was sad to not see the elephants but also glad to hear they've moved somewhere more suitable for them. It took us 4+ hours to get round the entire zoo. Also, highly recommend taking a toddler leash if you have little ones running around as you won't lose them. Pack water, snacks and extra clothes for your kids too as accidents happen often. It's a whole day trip!

This is a lovely zoo with so many animals! The paths were easy to follow and there were great places to stop and rest or eat. There were several demonstrations with animals throughout the day that were very informative and fun. We took a bus from downtown but there was some parking although I would recommend going early to find a space.

We had such an amazing time. Zoo is well kept and enclosures are large enough. There's so much to see. Would have liked if the parking meters were inside too. We didn't realise that we'll spend that much time and had to get all the way to outside to increase our time.

While I am not a fan of zoos in general, I appreciate the enjoyment and educational value this place provide for children. There are interesting materials and resources for learning. The zoo is well maintained and has pleasant picnic areas with shade, which are perfect for breaks on hot days. Limited parking requires planning and a short walk.

Must be the best zoo I’ve visited world wide. The animals are mostly kept in very open environments mimicking their natural habitats, they are clearly well kept and their welfare seems to be priority #1. Conservation is a key theme followed by public education. Animals are kept in their correct geographical zone, so kids will build up a more authentic knowledge of habitats and geographies. Human needs are well met too with several refreshment facilities and public conveniences. A very reasonable entrance price too! A credit to Auckland / NZ.

Amazing day to go the Zoo, wasn’t too sure of the parking so we parked a minute away on Motions Road which turned out to be the best considering how busy it was. We were lucky to see most of the animals but missed seeing some, probably as it was so hot for the animals. I would suggest booking a time (booking is essential in orange) before 3:30 as it would be hard to see the entire zoo before it closes at 5:30. Looking forward to seeing the new additions.

Nice day out to the zoo but it was very busy and parking was fully packed. A lot has been upgraded since my last two visits (5 and 10 years ago). Each area has its own cafe and seats on the way so much more convenient. Also, the loop is complete so you can easily bypass certain areas and get linked to main route without too much of a turn around.

We've been to Auckland Zoo multiple times, and it never disappoints! Each visit is a new adventure filled with amazing animal encounters. The staff always impress with their knowledge and enthusiasm, and the well-maintained surroundings create a lovely atmosphere. It's become a favorite spot for my daughter to bond and learn about wildlife together. We're looking forward to our next visit!

Amazing zoo. Had the best experience there, got to see the tiger going across the tunnel, the orangutans were swinging on the ropes around the zoo. The areas for each animal are spaces and well kept I was extremely impressed.

I enjoyed my time visiting Auckland Zoo! I got to see a lot more animals than my last visit. I've posted some videos and photos of my visit. Feel free to view them 😇 There are lots of new sites to see, and the orangutans are a must-see! The jungle dome was pretty cool with the alligators chilling about and lots of different fish. I can't wait to go back and see the size difference of the arowana fish from my last visit! Carpark gets fully occupied really fast, so arriving early will help with that. Otherwise, there will be some spots on the road with a limit of 120 minutes. The food was decent. I liked the hot chocolate with oat milk, too. Staff and volunteer staff are super friendly and informative! I enjoyed my conversation with one of the volunteer staff about the orangutans, and I got to touch the animals' hair that they were displaying 😎 It was such a fun experience visiting the zoo. I'll definitely come back.

Some amazing creatures conserved here , and we love the way Auckland Zoo communicates any new activities and all new developments in the zoo. Good way to keep people engaged. Everytime we have been there, our young fella has spent at least 4-5 hours at the zoo. There are also options of buying tickets for one time entry, and an option of annual pass as well, which gives you unlimited entries for an year. There are also quite a few cafes inside the zoo to satisfy your taste buds !! 👌 A place worth visiting for anyone coming to Auckland ....highly recommended

This zoo is awesome! The animal enclosures are huge, and the animals are so cute! It's one of the coolest zoos I've been to. The spaciousness and the beauty of the animals make it a must-visit!

Awesome place to take the family for the day. Even if you didn't get to see all the animals, the place itself is great to just walk around. But I guess it helped that we went on a nice sunny day. Worth the price and will definitely come back.

Very impressive design, layout and architecture of the zoo and now it is completed. It good for us be familiar with the life of other spices in the world. Lots of animals, also exotic ones. The New Zealand. Auckland zoo is an incredible space for wildlife enthusiasts of all ages. Boasting a rich tapestry of biodiversity and clear conservation efforts, this zoo offers an experience that educates and entertains. Upon entering the zoo, visitors are greeted by lush greenery and meticulously designed large habitats that mirror the natural environments of the animals. From the majestic lions prowling in their savannah like enclosure to the many different monkeys swinging in the trees, every exhibit is thoroughly crafted to provide animals with ample space and enrichment (there are even small rivers going through the zoo) For me particularly important is the possibility of taking good quality pictures and the zoo excels also in this design area allowing visitors to position themselves always at adequate angles free from fences and dirty glasses to shoot against interesting green backgrounds. In addition to the animals, the zoo offers an ample range of dining options and well maintained facilities. Overall, the Auckland zoo is a must if you enjoy this type of experiences.

Great exhibit of animals, all seemed lively and happy. Zoo staff gave informative and exciting talks on a schedule, and the zoo was much larger than I initially anticipated. It quickly turned from what I thought was going to be a 1 hour stroll into a 3.5 hour learning adventure. It takes about 3~4 hours to see everything or if you have one exhibit you particularly enjoy there is a direct path to nearly every exhibit. I had a lovely day at the zoo.

Fun place to take the kids. Make sure you book online a head of time, it will make life a lot easier for your group. It's a little in the pricier side of activity choices and only took us about an hour to go through, and that was taking our time. The penguins and the conveyer walk way in the aquarium were the high light. So many neat creatures to see, and not crowded at all.

This SEA LIFE aquarium was good. The day we went it was not so busy, so we took our time to see everything and didn’t have to rush through. It was cool to see the sharks and the giant manta ray swim over our heads! Even though we all were adults, we enjoyed, it would definitely be a fun filled experience for the kids. The penguins are cute. Felt bad for the small jelly fishes swimming around in circles in one place, but they have no brain, so hopefully they don’t feel anything. The ambience of the place was good. I have been to the S.E.A. Aquarium in Singapore, that’s massive, compared to that NZ one is smaller but still impressive. 100 percent recommended 😊

This is indeed one of my favorite aquariums, where you can observe a variety of Antarctic penguins and the ecology near the Antarctic; the design of the aquarium makes people feel like they are in the ocean, and marine life will swim around you. They also look at you curiously. It is recommended to go on weekdays, when there are fewer crowds. So you can spend more time observing these sea creatures. We didn't plan well. So we paid the full admission fee. There are many ticket packages on the Internet that suggest buying them first is much cheaper.

Loved seeing all the animals here. The penguin enclosure looks big and well kept, bigger than other zoos I've been to. There's a lot to see here. You can touch starfish, anemone, walk in the shark tunnel, see turtle rescue efforts and so many smaller animals such as clownfish, jellyfish, or seahorses. It's very interesting and educational, and very kid friendly with colouring and a small playground, bold and easy to read text and diagrams. The giant squid was pretty cool too

One of the coolest experiences! Staff were friendly, everything was amazing! I loved all the sea creatures and doing the turtle activity to set them free, my one was Pounamu. Came home learning about dolphins and turtles gift shop was my favorite part they have loads of soft toys at affordable prices, kids had lots of fun!

What an amazing experience! A first for our young family and we were awestruck by the marvel. An aquatic adventure like no other. It has to be lived to be believed. I was particularly amazed by the sheer size of the sharks and giant manta rays swimming over my head! We absolutely loved it specially with our 1 year old. Lots to do and see for the whole family. Kudos all around!

This was our first visit of Sea Life visit at Auckland. We like to visit aquariums. We generally take our time and many photos. Our visit lasted 4 hours. It is pleasant and the children will appreciate it, with a diversity of animation for them. My partner and I found the section with the penguins remarkable. This is the first time that we have been so close to penguins and have confortably observed them. We took best shots of penguins, even better than the one we took at Bird Park @ Singapore. Sea Life deserves a high score for this. The other parts are worth seeing but average compared to other aquariums. The aquarium is small, quickly overloaded, noisy with the crowd. It may need some renovation. It needs better education materials, to help identify the species, to describe their ecosystem. The photo taken at the entrance were not even given or e-mail to us as a souvenir for free. As any attraction park, all is made for paying additional services or else. You feel more being moren in an attraction park than a conservation « zoo / aquarium ». Note: Our favorite aquariums remain that of La Rochelle for its diversity and quality (min 6-8 hours of visit) and that of Singapore which, although small, offers huge aquariums with a wide range of fish and crustaceans together (4 hours of visit).

This is an excellent aquarium. Small but has plenty to offer, with a large penguin exhibit. This is a great place to spend a few hours if you love marine life.

This aquarium is really beautiful and has a great variety of marine life and informative exhibits. There's a nice spot about midway through were you can rest and grab a snack. There are scheduled events throughout the day to watch and some interactive spots for the kids. We took the bus and it dropped us off right out front but there was some parking available

We took our 15, 8 and 5 year old and they all loved it! Something for everyone. We were there for about 2.5hrs but could've stayed longer. So much to see and experience. A must do in Auckland if you can afford it!

We had an impromptu visit and loved every minute. The displays are outstanding but the stand out for us were the staff. The shows/talks and feedings they put on are world class. I want to make a special mention of Jenna who went above and beyond answering my son’s hundreds of questions. Her knowledge is incredible! Thank you! We had the best time.

It is a great place for family with children to visit. There are many learning resources for younger ones to engage and interact with ocean creatures. People are aware of wearing masks which is quite good during the pandemic time. Just an advice. If there are staffs to call people to check in, it would be perfect. Today, everyone was asked to come in to the narrow hall and wait to check in. It was very crowded and hot with masks on.

Good fun for the kids. Unfortunately we visited on what must've been the busiest day of the year - with poor weather and it being during the holidays. Definitely book in advance to secure a spot during the holidays. Our daughter still had a blast and enjoyed the playground in the middle. We didn't end up having lunch here, the food looked pretty average and it was busy. The penguins were the highlight for us. I have lots of fond memories of visiting so I'm glad to see it has held up. Lots to educate the kids too if they have the patience

Before arriving I messaged sea life via their Facebook page to ask if we could bring our own food, I didn't receive any response at all. There is no contact number for sea life on the website. I checked the website for more details and it said we could not bring our own food. Upon arrival we noticed many people had bought their own food. There were only 8 tables in the Cafe and 2 small tables for kids drawing. We visited during school holidays and found that there was no where near enough seating available, although there was room for more tables and chairs. We found the restrooms really unclean, it was quite a shock for the amount of people there during school holidays there was not more staff on to cater for these times. The actual aquarium itself was great! I would be good to see more resources going into the upkeep and maintenance of the rest room facilities and a revamp of the Cafe area. Hopefully one day they will revamp the parking so there is move available spaces. We purchased our tickets in advance but found we didn't get in any quicker as everyone was queuing in one line.

Visited with a 2 year old. Expensive for a days activity but a great activity for a special treat. You have to pre purchase tickets Easy to get to from downtown on TMK bus, stopped right across road from entry and ran every 15 minutes (ditto for return trip) Total time spent there, including sitting down to eat a packed lunch, was 3 1/2 hours and toddler was engaged and interested through majority. Heads up that you reach the gift shop around a blind corner and are confronted by wall to wall, floor to ceiling soft toys which is every parent’s hell. Travel through in a one way loop so no bag storage option, cafe is expensive with very limited options, and it’s chilly inside so we were glad we had extra layers with us.

Took my little sister here and it was well worth it! A great variety of animals and lots of educational stuff posted around the aquarium. Would be great if they had more variety at the cafe and had more seating available, but apart from that the aquarium was amazing and I’d recommend it to anybody.

Lovely place with great staff. My one drawback is the floor of the tunnel. There are signs asking people in wheelchairs or anyone with a pram to stick to the left, but for me there was only just enough room and even then I kept slipping on to the moving walkway, especially when going around corners. We weren't able to focus on the views as much because we were so busy trying to make sure my wheels didn't slip off the side. We eventually tried just going on the moving part anyway since I kept slipping and it's actually wider, but again corners were an issue. Everything else was great.

Great Aquarium, thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! The tunnel was absolutely amazing. I've never seen anything like this before! And never been able to view penguins that close! Fascinating! Really friendly and well-educated staff (thank you for the well presented info about the fish and the environment in the tunnel!) There's a little playground and eatery inside as well. Takes about an hour to get through but can easily spend 2-3 hours there if you go through all the interesting (also historically) bits and pieces. Definitely a recommendation from us!

Absolutely loved our visit here. Small enough to not feel overwhelmed but big enough to get the full experience. Extremely interactive and would be good for people of all ages due to how close you can get to each animal

It's the perfect gift you can give to your children. My 5-and-a-half-year-old enjoyed seeing the sharks and penguins. Although it's not very large and doesn't have a wide variety of sea fishes, it's well-built considering the limited space. My daughter especially enjoyed playing the role of a doctor and receiving a certificate for checking the teddy penguins' health, which is placed near the front after the penguin exhibit. They have plenty of penguins, and it's nice to see them swimming and resting in the artificial rock. It was her first encounter with penguins, and she enjoyed it a lot. I've been to Cape Town and had the opportunity to see them up close, witnessing how they care for the young and interact with each other. Apart from the fish and other sea animals, there are lots of small activities for children. There's a small play area attached to a cafeteria where you can grab something to eat and drink. Next to the cafeteria, you'll find big and small fish, sharks, and stingrays. Children will love this part. There's a massive transparent glass aquarium filled with these big fishes, and the pathway is divided into two sections—one for walking and the other rotating on its own, allowing you to stand and enjoy the fishes. The next area features starfish that you can touch, lobsters, colorful deep-sea fishes, and seahorses. At the end, you can buy goodies from the shop, although they're a bit expensive. Considering the price tag, it may not seem like a big aquarium, but we got a discount using our AA membership card, making it a decent deal for us. Regardless of the price, it's a nice way to spend 2 hours and make your kids happy while enjoying the sea creatures. While you may not see all the sea creatures, they've managed to showcase a maximum with the minimal space available.

Lovely check in and knowledgeable staff at the 1 touch tank that was open. Plenty parking and a nice aquarium though it looked like there were less fish in the aquarium you walk through. The artsy part was new and cool. Penguins were the highlight and my daughter made the polar plunge.

We get annual passes each year and it's well worth it. Great for all ages but especially kids. Great place to go when it's too hot or wet outside but you want to get out of the house. The animals are well looked after and the enclosures are awesome and well maintained. The staff are friendly and do great talks, animal encounters (penguin walk, shark cage, touch the starfish!) and they help rescue, rehabilitate and release wild animals. No covered parking, but wheelchair and pram friendly. Good food and drink options. Parent room next to the playground. A great Auckland staple worth seeing!

Had been a few years since my last visit, so it has changed a bit. Basically the same but much improved ( I was happy you now walk past the Penguins rather than ride past them ). We went with the Grandkids who loved it as did my eldest daughter ( her first visit ). Book on-line and skip the long lines.

We visited last weekend with the kids. There's no allocated parking for Kelly T so better get there early or be prepared to walk. Upon entering it smelled like a urinal. I'm not sure if that's just what the penguins smell like, because they're the first attraction. The public toilets were dirty and smelly. They need to be cleaned more regularly. We paid $148 for a family of 4. It was OK, however, the kids loved it as they don't notice the detail . The shark tank was pretty and a cool experience for us all.

Haven’t been here since I was a kid. Visited today and wow what an amazing place. So kick has changed and all for the better. Great cafe, playground for the kids, touch tanks, free talks, helpful staff, and some interesting pieces of NZ history. My kids were blown away and so were we.

It was wonderful to be so close to the sea animals and wow the enclosures were very well maintained, I just with that there was more to see. The seahorse area had no seahorses, the section where you could touch the urchins and star fish was a tiny tank and the queue was very long. The lunch area was also very small but otherwise it was nice, but over way too quickly for being so costly

Good experience for young children. Not much in terms of sea life. The best exhibit is the penguins. The aquarium lacks the different sea life, ie fish, when compared to sea life aquariums in Australia and Singapore. Does not have enough parking and had to park far away. Overall not satisfied. For the price of the tickets, it’s not worth it.

We just went last Saturday and to my surprised 😮 there’s a long line waiting for us. We arrived in Viaduct at 10:00 am and get in at 11:40 am. Around 35 mins travel time. When we arrived in Waiheke Island we waited for another 1 hour for the Tour Bus. Lots of patience you need if your going here 😤 we had our lunch at cable bay vineyard at around 3pm and just enjoyed the rest of the day.

We did a wine tour on the island. Lots of really cute wineries and great food. The beach is beautiful. I would love to go back and spend a few days exploring.

I fell in love with this beautiful island. Family visited this on a Saturday through a ferry from East Auckland as we brought a van with us. Left 8am trip returned 7pm, had enough time to explore the beaches, vineyard, Catholic church, CBD for our brunch. We had a taste of oysters and wine tasting for our late lunch. Able to enjoy Waiheke ostend market every Saturday from 8am to 1pm, grandchildren loved the art gallery and parks. See you again.

Great day trip from Auckland. Better if you find accommodation there for a night or two so you can enjoy the winery's and rend a bike to go around the island. It has amazing spots all around. I highly recommend to do the AT hop transport car and use that to travel to the island as the tour agency the rip you off 45$ return ticket.

Waiheke Island is only 40 minutes ferry ride from downtown Auckland and has a lot to offer. You can walk, ride a bike or take a shuttle bus to all attractions. If you can walk I strongly recommend you do so. It’s a lovely walk to Oneroa Beach, Cable Bay and Mudbrick vineyards

Just about 20 km away from Auckland, you find this landmass, which is so magical and beautiful. Island has a population of over 1000 permeant residence. This unspoilt beauty is all about nature and landscape. I took the ferry in the morning and after speeding a day I came back to Auckland in the evening. The lifestyle, culture and locals within the island was inspiring. They were friendly relaxed and fun. Next time I would spend a couple of days on the island itself, rent a beach house and wake up to the sound of the waves. Also, I wish I could own a home on top the of a cliff like in the photos and retire in a heavy island like this.

Loved Waiheke Island. Such a diverse island. Well worth the visit. Must drive the island.

In the summer season, it is super busy which requires preparing well to enjoy. Things to know: - Ferry: As the ticket says, it would be really good to arrive at the ferry terminal an hour before your estimated departing time. We aimed to take a ferry at 9 am and we arrived around 8.20 am. The 8 am ferry arrived at 8.25 am and left from the downtown ferry terminal at 8.35 am. We were super lucky, and I am unsure how this would impact the rest of the hours ferry. - Hop-On Hop-Off Explorer Bus: Although we purchased tickets, we didn't use them. Yes.. it is a waste of money, but we wanted to avoid possible hassles. On Friday, the interval is an hour and most of the winery at the bus stop was fully booked. Some people complained of 1.30 hours waiting at the bus stop. - Rent a car: In the end, we rented a car a day after checking all the recent reviews. -- Pros: good to go wherever you go, enjoy some viewpoints and avoid crowded spots. -- Cons : limits for drinking and unable to go Man O war bay road if it is not a 4wd car.

It's beautiful island and if you are a wine-lover this is a must. We went there for a day and used the fullers hop-on hop-off bus; and highly recommended to start early to make the most out of it as it's quite expensive. It's a good way to have look at the entire island then decide which stop fits you the most. We had lunch and few wines in Mudbrick (also quite expensive too) but the food’s yum.

If you are in Auckland , this place is a never miss one . 35-40mims on boat will take you to the Waiheke . It’s a scenic island with great vineyards and some little beaches. You can go around the island by bus or on bicycles. Vineyard tours are the main attraction and you can pre book these tours. Most these vineyards offer great food too…views on the way to and from the island on ferry is also mesmerising.

Breathtaking place. If you want to see the entire island in a day, take a bus or hire an electric bike. I completed the trails on the southwest and northwest sides, and they are beautiful. If you have some time in Auckland, do not miss out on Waiheke island. If you're there, be sure you check out the shops and the wineries if that's your fancy.

Lovely day trip to see the sea, beautiful beaches and natural beauty of this small but picturesque island. It was easy waving on a well scheduled ferry from Auckland’s downtown Harbour to go to Matiatia ferry wharf and loved the smooth fresh air ferry ride. (I purchased tickets for both the ferry ride and hop on hop off bus shuttle at Auckland ferry terminal and was pleased I did so) Once on Waiheke island I hopped onto the scheduled 30 minute island circuit ride and enjoyed exploring the many vineyards, several beaches and a good forest walk. There is lots of to do on your day trip so be mindful of the last hop-on hop-off bus on the schedule. Make sure that you respect this beautiful island and avoid going off established pathways, put garbage in its proper place and keep your eyes open for the road traffic. Local drivers don’t have much patience for pedestrians. If you like my reviews, photos or videos then don’t stay stuck on an island just jump on and off and hit the like button

Definitely a must visit if you are in Auckland. Only a quick ferry ride here and lots of beautiful scenery and wineries to visit. Beautiful beaches and just an all around perfect place.

Waiheke Island 🏝️🏖️ ..... Yesterday we had a grand trip to Waiheke Island which is a popular tourist destination in NZ . It's been ranked 1st by 'National Geographic Magazine' as the top island escape in the world. Its the fifth largest island in New Zealand & is located off the east coast of North Island. It can be reached in 40mins by a ferry from Auckland. The ferry service is fast & frequent. Waiheke Island is known for its Vineyards, Beaches 🏖️ and seaside villages...

A must do if you’re in NZ. Easy ferry service from Auckland and incredibly beautiful.

A beautiful island with lots of beaches, walks, nature reserves and wineries. A day worth spending

Worth doing if you like walking. The walk up to the summit is a nice track and is in good condition. It is not too difficult We arrived on the 10am ferry and left on the 3:30pm, and that was a perfect amount of time to go to the top, visit the caves and also to visit the beach.

Rangitoto trail is awesome. I recommend you to go around the volcano and then up to the summit. Great view! Come down by the middle of it passing by the lava flow.

Great day out, but do this when it is cloudy as the volcanic rocks get hot in broad sunlight and there isn’t much shelter. Take lots of water- I rationed mine. We walked around past the cottages, past Flax point to McKenzie beach. Had lunch on that beautiful sandy beach- good toilets and a great place for a swim. (1.5 hour walk) then walked up to the summit(1.25 hour walk) Great views into the crator and from the top back to Auckland. You can explore the lava caves on the way down the summit track back to the wharf( 1.25 hour). Was tired at the end- but an interesting, different experience Ferry arrived at the island at 10:50am and picked us up at 3:30pm, so 20 mins rest at the end. Some people walk up to the summit and back exploring the caves- that would be far less walking.

Absolutely incredible hike we've done today! The ferry to the island offered great views of the Auckland skyline. Once you reach the island, make sure you go on your toilet break as there won't be any toilets anywhere else on the island. Sturdy shoes is a must as the paths are filled with volcanic rocks which could be very sharp. The lava caves was also very fun! A torch is a must and do watch your head towards the end bit :) Do bring togs and a towel if you like to go for a swim, too. Overall, incredible!

Great easy walk up to the summit. We did it on a sunny day in July and had a swim at Mackenzie Bay…beautiful clear water 😊 The three little caves were awesome, but keep going down the path and you’ll stumble across a larger one which was also fabulous. Totally recommend!!

A good place to walk, even kids of all ages. There are different lengths of walks around the Island. A really good app to us is AllTrails. Incase u get lost. But definately worth the ferry ride there.

Beautiful island! We went on a fine day, had a good swim at McKenzie Bay, climbed the summit, what an awesome experience!

Beautiful day hike - despite all the lava rocks, nature is blooming over there. Don't forget to discover caves too- you can go in some inside. Make sure to pack water, food, sun protection and hat with you. As water is crystal clear, you might want to enjoy swimming as well.

A nice place to go for the day, the terrain is not for weak smacked so take a good pair of tramping like shoes a part from your jandals. Ferry is about$42 return (January 2020) There are no cafes or water taps so take plenty of food and water for your stay. you will find many swimming spots along the coast. There are three ways to go up plus many other little tracks, I walked all of of them and it was around 8km each way. If you don't want or can't to walk so much then there is a tour that drives you up called fuller explorer. Very interesting flora only found there, I recommend to read all the signs they sometimes tell you about tracks that are around. Take any rubbish you see with you weather is yours or not, particularly at the summit where people get rid of their water bottles.

Absolutely beautiful and pristine place to visit with a bunch of different trails to hike. Make sure to bring your walking shoes, a backpack, water and some snacks though cause there isn’t anything on the island but nature.

It’s only a short ferry ride from the pier and cost about 35 nzd for round trip boat ride. You have to brush off any dirt and check bags for things that might contaminate the island since there is a problem with rodents eating bird eggs. There is no food shop so bring water and snacks before you go. There is a bach (batch) that is open to visitors for you to see how locals used to live while on their little vacations on the island. There is volcanic flows all the down to the water from the eruptions 600 years ago. Good views from the top.

If anyone from the Dept of Conservation is reading this, great job! I'd recommend adding a tagline to the island name e.g. "for the love of birds" :) It's a perfect day trip from Auckland. Big shout out to the amazing volunteers! A guided tour is a must for all first timers.

If visiting Auckland or even if you live in Auckland ,Tiritiri Matangi Island is a must go to. Considering what it was 50 odd years, practically treeless. 20,000 planted trees later and plenty of bird life. What a transformation.

A fantastic day trip to a beautiful island to see the native bird life. We took the ferry over and booked a guided walk, which really helped to learn and locate all the birds and trees. They have really created a nice experience and it was well worth it.

You can feel the spring in the air. With the flowers blooming, there are more nectar for birds. They are singing loudly and putting on a show.

Beautiful island and the guides were absolutely great, full of knowledge. The volunteers have done an amazing job of creating this bird sanctuary

The perfect spot for a hike! My family and I went on a tour, and the guide named Neal was very friendly. Complete with muddy pathways and rocks. Saw some giant weta too.

A Great Peaceful place to visit. Since it's a reserve and conserved land to it's original form, it is highly organized to keep as natural as possible it is. Need to bring your own drinks and food when you are going there.. for public only one ferry from Auckland Harbour which is operated by explorer ferry. There are some real rare birds in here.. I have taken some pictures of these rare birds and some of the pics you can find in my Instagram account fahaz_kurukkan Advise to take a map or note the map in advance and plan to walk on the train as much as possible with a plan to reach back to ferry terminal before it leaves.

So much hard work has gone into making this island sanctuary a place where our native birds can flourish again. It is an amazing place and well worth the journey. I can recommend the guided walk if you are curious. There are toilets and a gift shop on the island. Proceeds help to continue pest eradication efforts.

Loved it! Beautiful Island. On the way to the island I saw penguins swimming in the ocean. The island itself is beautiful. Its not crowded at all. I saw them all: Takahes, Kokakos, sattlebacks, Hihis, Bellbirds, NZ pigeons, Tuis, Kakarikis, Whiteheads, Robins. Couldn't be happier. Great Day Trip. Could have spend even more time there :)

A great day out from Auckland! We had a guided tour with Enid (one of the volunteer tour guides) and she was so knowledgable about the wildlife and plants on the island, and the history of creating the sanctuary. We saw so many native birds, including the Kōkako. There was also a lovely shop in the visior centre, and the Explore boat to/from the island was great.

Great facilities and overnight stay if you book well ahead. Exercise and fresh air. Great people working there. Close to nature and the best morning chorus from the birds. Fantastic Sunrise!

A most rewarding experience for those wanting to encounter our rare wildlife without to much effort. Firstly a pleasant ocean voyage, and then an abundance of birdlife and other critter to find on the many easy tracks. Good swimming beaches too.

I really like this island, it‘s so beautiful! You can have lunch at the Lighthouse (has toilets, a shop for souvenirs and free tea). And at the end you can swim at the beach near the ferry, that‘s a great ending for your trip. They will control your food which you bring (you can only buy chocolate in the shop, so I would bring my own lunch), you have to fill it in plastic bags (or in containers) so no seeds can come on the island and maybe damage the nature. Your shoes have to be cleaned. There are some guides who show you around and tell you everything about the birds. You can just point on one you see and they will give you much information about it. The trip is definitely worth it & i can only recommend it. But if you want to enjoy it, take your time and do a day trip to the Island!!

Amazing day tour with lots of birds to see, but also excellent information provided by volunteers! And wonderful landscapes, too. Next time I will definitely stay longer.

A must for any nature lovers. You can either pre-book online or hope for the best and get tickets on the day. Pick up options for the ferry are either Auckland Ferry Terminal or Gulf Harbour Ferry terminal. I went with the latter since the tickets were cheaper and there was free parking in proximity to the terminal. The ferry ride was quite nice and once we arrived on the island there was a 10 minute welcome before being split into groups if you had a guided tour. There are two options for the tour, straight to the lighthouse (Wattle Track) or circling around the island before heading to the lighthouse (Kawerau Track). It was enjoyable to leisurely walk down the track and stop off at certain places to look at the birds in the area. The guides were quite knowledgeable about the birds on the island as well as the history. They also knew where certain birds are located like when I went they knew that there was a family of Takahe near the light house. Both walks stop at the lighthouse which is near the visitor center. The Kawerau track (longer of the two) took most of the day so there wasn't much time to explore more of the island but it was informative since it was my first time there. I walked down the Wattle track back to the ferry terminal. Just remember to get to the terminal before the ferry leaves otherwise it is an expensive ride back.

The Gallery has a nice atmosphere and customer service is great. At the moment entry is free. There is a cafe and a restaurant in case you get hungry (but I haven't tried them). First floor is temporarily closed. I really enjoyed walking around.

The Auckland Art Gallery is a must-visit for art enthusiasts. My recent trip allowed me to explore the stunning collection from the Robertson Gift. The exhibited artworks are simply breathtaking. I was particularly impressed by the diversity and quality of the pieces showcased. The serene atmosphere of the gallery made my visit even more enjoyable. This is a most wonderful destination. I have come to the Auckland Art Gallery to get away from the pollution of reality and to let art wash away all negativity. The exhibitions are diverse. Afterward sit at the Cafe - they serve up a fine selection of wine and great conversations on the verandah... and finally head to their gift shop - it is all reasons and all seasons to get something special. You can't say you've seen Auckland without seeing The Auckland Art Gallery.

Amazing art and great service. The building was clean and had a nice layout and flow between exhibitions. The exhibitions themselves are breathtaking, the 'romancing the collection' was incredibly beautiful. The clowns were a bit weird though and the food a bit over priced but that doesn't matter.

International section is a special wing with stunning 3 D exhibit and Ryan Gyander’s philosophical mouse talking about human priorities and the man holding the universe are top of the expressions presented . Such a special visit! So lucky to see the Guo Pei Exhibit!! Some of the dresses took 3,000 hours of fine embroidery work. It was jaw dropping! To imagine the creativity and mad skills to fabricate such epic fashion. Brilliant exhibit! Equally impressive the Matisse, Monet and Picasso pieces in the gift collection. Staff was helpful and friendly. Loved the gift shop too! Will return!

It’s an oasis to relax inside especially with all the building work that is happening in Auckland CBD right now! Love the Mary Quant exhibition, so surprised to see all those beautiful dolls were once made in Hong Kong 🇭🇰 (a rarity nowadays) The cafe is a nice stopover before heading to the gift shop, quality products stocked. Have a wonderful afternoon during my visit early January!!

Spent a rainy afternoon exploring the eclectic collections on display. Was very impressed by the variety of mediums, eras, and diverse creators on display in the beautifully designed building. While everyone raves about the natural beauty of New Zealand, if you find yourself in the city of Auckland, this world-class art museum is a “must see”.

it's enjoyable for short visit as this gallery size is normal i guess. not much art to see, but it's worth the time for free entrance. No ticket is required. Me and my friend enjoy our walk moments here. if you like to watch the show Light at Tate? the entrance fee is Nzd26.50.

Really nice place to study or chill out close to the park. Although it was very annoying when they started to close the space, making noise and blocking the way out 30 mins before close time. Wait until close time and make all the noise you want, but not during business time, please :)

We were actually allowed to walk in the gallery for free. Place is under renovation but still loads to see. Not an art person but was quite intrigued at some of the work. The architecture is a blend of both old and contemporary and it was beautiful.

Really nice visit! Was a little lost at first but eventually found my way around and the Robertson Gift is an incredible collection and the current temporary fashion exhibition was also really interesting. Unfortunately the bigger New Zealand art gallery area was closed. It was a little busy due to it being a public holiday but still very easy and comfortable to move around the museum. The cafe was a nice spot for a rest too!

Had a great time at the Auckland Art Gallery! The staff were friendly and the exhibits very interesting. There’s plenty for all tastes and preferences. Things to know: entrance is free, however if you want to see special exhibitions you’ll need to pay a ticket.

A few Monet, Dali, Picasso... This is a tiny museum but a nice one. Not very fan of the scenography (the rooms are quite small and you have to go back on your tracks to go out which to me is weird) but the fact that the permanent collections are free even for foreigners is a great. Though more contemporary art by New Zealander artists would be appreciated.

Great permanent collection of NZ art, though only a small part of it is on display at any given time. There is also a pretty good collection of international historic art. They host regular exhibitions of contemporary art and some big travelling shows. Mostly it's free but they charge entry for the international features. Membership is definitely a good idea if you're local so you can go to the bug shows multiple times at no extra cost.

A must do experience in Waiheke. Bookings are recommended. Awesome staff who take great care of you. There is a total of 3 zip lines on the way, with each one getting gradually more exciting. The guided walk back up is fairly easy going and a very informative talk along the way. Great family experience and beautiful views as you glide over tree tops. Don't forget to leave your problems (rocks) behind

Fantastic experience! Felt very safe yet fun and the staff was very encouraging and entertaining. The 3 ziplines were just long and high enough to get great views and to get that thrill of speed. The nature walk was a bonus as well and learned alot about the area and the history. Thank you for a great time!

These guys were very professional and fantastic to work with. Our guides, Dylan and Frasier were amazing and fun! This place has incredible views of the country side and bay. The walk back to the top was on a well groomed trail winding its way through the jungle. We had a great time!

Ziplining was awesome! Amazing location, great friendly guides and a good cause as a large part of the money goes into reforestation and caring for the land. Wish there could be a slower, longer Iplime to appreciate the views even more, but the walk back up through the bush was a good way to complement the full experience.

We visited EcoZip and found the operation to be exceptionally well run, safe, and fun. The staff were wonderful. The zip line runs weren’t as exciting as we’ve experienced in other parts of New Zealand or places like Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, however they were still enjoyable. The walk through the forest was arguably the favorite for all. It was magical and informative. Overall we would recommend EcoZip for the entirety of what the experience is. Match it with a visit to Batch Winery (just one hill away) and you have a great Waiheke day!

Great ziplining. 3 zips in total - only downside is I wish it didn't have to end! Had two great guides with us who were knowledgeable about the local ferns and wildlife around the Bush too and how important it is to protect it.

It was such amazing experience at EcoZip Adventures the kids and I had yesterday morning. We are from Gold Coast, Australia and just visited Waiheke Island for a day trip. It was the best decision to choose this experience. All staff members we have come across were very professional. Got picked up from the Waiheke Pier by warmly greeting staff Marie. We had Ella and Lucy as our guides for the zip lines and nature walk. The place, the view, the weather, another family that we met- everything was beautiful and perfect. We absolutely loved and enjoyed this experience. Love to come back again in the future for sure.

Great set up, views are amazing and staff were friendly. Felt it was expensive for what you experienced and took a long time for how little you do. Took around 3 hours to experience 3 zip lines and then walk which is described as a nature forest walk and it is just the walk back to the top once you have completed the zips. Glad I did it to see the island in a cool way but found it expensive for what it is.

Excellent. The driver was kind enough to let my husband and I in Onerea town explore because we got to the island early. He also recommended where the best Gelato to get, and he was right. The staff ensured you that you are in safe hands. The views from the three runs in Waiheke are beautiful, and we got lucky w the weather even though it's a dreary day in Auckland.

Great, wonderful experience! Daniel and Jack were so helpful and safely harnessed us up. We flew over the forest canopy and vineyards on three separate zip lines each time adding length and height. They took the time to photograph us with our own camera. There are lockers so you can bring a backpack and bathrooms at the top. The hike was great to learn about the flora and fauna, plus get a rest from the climbs. The tour can let you off afterwards at the village above Onamia beach so bring a swimsuit and towel to do that, too! Then you can walk back downhill to the ferry. Also, when you catch the ferry in Aukland, give yourself extra time to get in the queue as we almost didn’t make the ferry as they only allow so many to board the ferry. When we signed up through Get Your Guide, make sure you buy both the zip line tickets and ferry tickets, then you will get an email to fill out the disclosure form which will save time when you arrive. This was a great experience!

Love this place. So peaceful and calming. Always a lots of cars there but the park is so big you don't feel it is busy at all. The fact that you can walk amongst the cows and sheep puts a smile on my face every time. Love it

It’s a Beautiful park in Auckland, it’s huge and has plenty of space to have picnic with family.. there lots of old and huge trees it’s a very relaxing place. We use to come here and we usually bring our bikes and you can bike around the park. You can also climb up to One tree a hill area it is overlooking and has amazing ambiance. During Autumn this park doesn’t miss to surprise you.. and during spring there are groups of cherry blossoms.. there is also a nice coffee shop inside that offers lots of yummy food so if you have no time to prepare a food for lunch then don’t worry as they serve lunch as well.. 😊check this park and you will surely love it!!

A clean fresh and safe park for morning walk, amongst sheep and vows, but on city fringe. Access to One Tree Hill top opened for walkers. Cafe inside the park is super nice, bean bags are available for having breakfast on grass

Great park with multiple possible walks. We went all the way to the top in order to enjoy the view of the city. Possible to have a barbecue no too far from the car park. Toilets could be a bit cleaner.

Cornwall Park is a gigantic public park for everyone. It has a cafe and a dedicated exercise area with few equipment. Endless beautiful walk trails with both open and dense lush green spaces. Ample parking and clean toilets. The best part is no matter how busy it gets, you will still find a space for you to do something interesting.

A very tranquil park that winds in amongst sheep and cattle paddocks, including the ability to enter the sheep paddock and get close to them. Very green. Paved sidewalks and road for easy walking access. Nice for an afternoon stroll.

An extremely elegent park where you can enjoy the spring under cherry blossom. You can find different species of trees over there. In fact, more than 100 years old trees. This park is a peaceful vast area where you can enjoy, jogging 🏃‍♂️, spending time with your friends and family and even alone in the heart of the busy Auckland city.

Cornwall Park is one of our favourite parks in Auckland. My husband and I went to Cornwall Park on 24/8/2023. We saw lots of sheep and cow there and took some photos there. The park was very peaceful at that time so we could enjoy the peaceful and quiet atmosphere there. We highly recommend you to go there if you live near the park or happen to drive past there.

This is one of the best spots in Auckland!!! I’m a photographer, so every corner presents a new photo opportunity🙌 I love this spot for photo shoots, catching up with friends and dog friendly! So many flowering trees. The cafe is an absolute MUST as well! Family friendly and a cute kids playground too.

An absolutely stunning park that possesses rugged hillside, tranquil orchids, active farmland, manicured gardens and a wonderful 360 degree view of the city. Lovely to visit all year round but particularly during spring and autumn. Needs multiple visits to be properly explored in full! A great place to go with the dog, but just be aware that some areas are off limits to dogs during certain times of years.

This park has it ALL: beautiful flora, magnificent views, hidden spots to relax, undisturbed wildlife, peacefulness, picnic areas, cafés to enjoy meals/drinks, plenty of parking, flat or hilly walking terrains. A good place to unwind, stay active and healthy.

Sir John Logan Campbell gifted the Cornwall Park to NZ in 1901.Today it is managed by a Trust Board honouring his wish to operate it free for all. It is more than just a Park... Sprawling over 425 acres its a living history, heritage, ecology & native Mauri community. Its a great experience to enjoy nature for free💚👍

What a beautiful place! Livestock, an amazing park, a nice visitors center and all the amazing trees you can take in. Don't skimp on the walk up to the monument, the view is incredible, but make sure to hold on to your hats and glasses, it gets powerfully windy up there!

I realise you don't want cars going up there, but I don't understand why the gates need to be closed to the point where I have to get off my bike and twist the handlebars to get through.

One Tree Hill is a breathtaking scenery view you can access very easily, you should go visit.

A must-see for anyone in the area, beautiful landscapes and views of Auckland and the surrounding suburbs. There is a nice little cafe before a gentle uphill walk to the mountaintop where you can experience some of the history that this iconic landmark represents.

One Tree Hill is a popular place within Cornwall Park to visit for panoramic views of the Auckland area, and for walking and biking. It is a 182-metre (597 ft) volcanic peak formed by scoria cones from 3 volcanic craters. It is an important memorial place for both Māori and other New Zealanders. It is an excellent place to get some great photos! There is a parking area at the base of the trail is easy to find. You can also park anywhere else close within the park and walk to the trailhead. The trail is paved and not too steep, and very easy to walk for anyone. From the parking area to the top of the hill takes about 20 minutes. On the summit of the hill is an obelisk, a memorial to Māori. Before the obelisk stands a bronze statue of a Māori warrior. The stone obelisk was designed by Richard Atkinson Abbot and completed in 1940, but the unveiling of the obelisk was delayed until after World War II on 24 April 1948. This was in keeping with Māori custom of not holding such ceremonies during a time of bloodshed. Beneath it is the grave of Sir John Logan Campbell who bequeathed £5,000 for the obelisk. His grave is a plain granite slab, ornamented only by a bronze wreath. It lies in the middle of the viewing platform, on axis with the main memorial plaques on the Obelisk base. Unfortunately, the trees that the hill was famous for (that are visible in some older photos) are now gone. They were all destroyed in protests by the Maori people to the injustices forced upon them by the government. Take the time to go there to walk, bike, or run, enjoy the views, and get some great photos. Cornwall Park is also a large and beautiful park with miles of walking trails and biking trails to enjoy, so take a few hours there to relax and get a little exercise!

The tree was cut down by someone many years ago and the view is quite good , no need to walk for a long time

The scenery here is worth a walk. The parking lot on the mountain is closed, so you can only stop at the foot of the mountain and then walk to the observation deck on the mountain. We have probably walked for 20 minutes. If the weather is good, here is a 360-degree view of Auckland on the bay. Very spectacular, if you are coming to New Zealand for the first time, be sure to check it out.

One tree hill is a popular spot in Cornwall Park where you can get a great view of the city of Auckland. It's a good place to go for a walk or a bike ride. You can breathe in the fresh air and bask in the sun.

Another great spot in Auckland for views. It’s a bit of a hike up from the car park but you can call the local council and get a code for car access to the summit if you or a passenger have limited mobility - the number is on a sign at the car park 👍🏻

Historical Plce to visit...Great upward walk up to the One Tree Hill as vehicles are forbidden. Great view of the Auckland from there.

Unlike my husband, I have no particular interest in boats, yachts or ships but I found this maritime museum intriguing. Aside from the many model vessels, the New Zealand seafaring history was interesting. Worth a visit. Consider upgrading your ticket to go on a cruise around the harbor on one of their restored ships. Perfect thing to do on a summer day!

Nice museum dedicated to New Zealand’s maritime history. Starts off with Polynesian and Māori vessels, moves to settlement and Immigration, coastal trading, and modern day successes at the Americas cup. Some cool boats inside as well as berthed outside. I particularly enjoyed the art collection at the end of the tour. I’m not very knowledgeable about boats but I was able to follow and learn as I went through the experience.

An incredibly well curated museum. It goes into the deep history of both the Maori and European immigrant experience of Auckland and greater New Zealand. I was very impressed as to how interactive the museum was and they did a wonderful job balancing the exhibits to have something for all ages.

So much money and effort has gone into making this a thoroughly interesting and insightful exhibition - and it’s paid off. From immigrants sailing to New Zealand, to the America’s Cup and Olympics, there is incredible detail into the history and stories behind key maritime events in NZ, and goes right up to the current day with facts and quotes dating 2020. There are many interactive features, such as some screens where you can design your race boat on a computer screen and race against the computer simulation or with friends to see who has designed the fastest. My favourite section was reading and discovering about the people who travelled over to NZ for a new life from the UK, what their boat life was like (seeing various cabins) and what they did when they arrived. It is an extremely entertaining and immersive experience and I thought excellent value. I was not expecting such a detailed, interesting, up-to-date and genuinely captivating series of exhibitions.

Very nicely done with simple way of walking through - just follow the blue line. Plenty of tings to see - easily spent there 3 hrs so have some time on ur hands. If u r an Auckland resident (got to have a proof though), the ticket would be without charge. If not, well, we were told we can revisit the very next day on the same ticket if we didn't manage to finish the tour.

Came here to spend a couple of hours, and I walked out 5 hours later. I really enjoyed the cultural carvings and various sailing vessels from the Pacific. I'm going back there to see things that l haven't seen. I loved the ourside exhibits. It's the school holidays so there were lots of families and children. I loved the area, and it's right on the bike and scooter lanes, so it is easily accessible.

As someone with zero interest in boats maritime, it was a pleasant experience. Mainly targeting kids, great incorporation of technology and very interactive museum. My favorite part was the replica of the old home, total nostalgia for someone who grew up in NZ. Free entry for Aucklanders, great viaduct views from inside, local restaurants and take aways surround this location.

We really enjoyed the heavy emphasis on sailing in the first 2/3 of the museum. We could easily have spent several hours here. It would have been nice (especially for the kids) if there were more interactive exhibits.

We all had great time sailing on the Ted Ashby yacht and seeing the Auckland skyline from the boat is amazing. Going under the harbor bridge is also amazing. Later we explored the museum and had time looking at the sailing experiences from past till now. Team is really great made our experience memorable. ✨😊

Very big. Takes 3-4 hours to get through it. A lot of information about history and connection to indigenous people. Nice clean toilets. Worth money. You can even come the next day for the same ticket!

I'm really glad I decided to come here. There are sections focused more on the science and history of boats but also sections on the histories of the different people that have come to this island. Really fascinating!

Way beyond my expectations it is extremely interesting. Bought the combo ticket including 1hr boat trip in the bay which was also worth experiencing. Learned a lot about pacific boats and canoes, America’s cup NZ challenge but the best section for me was the immigration history one. Worth to see!

Great display of various size and shapes of early waka. There’s plenty is boats to see used in the early days up to the modern day boats. Highly if ur of this visit is joining the sail boat that’s run by volunteers who were ex sailors who never ever get tired of doing their passion. Sailors allow us to experience pull ropes to set the sails, arranged the ropes and even allow us to experience turning the helm of the boat. The sail boat will pass under the bridge and will turn back to the dock. Truly a fun and entertaining!

Enjoyed the ted ashby sailing. It is absolute peace once the motor is off and the sails are up against the wind. Don't expect anything over exciting but its definitely worth your time and is indeed a nice experience. They are prepared for rain too as you get really good rain coats to keeps yourself from getting wet.

A great place for family. It is just a viaduct area. There is a lovely coffee shop if you want to spend some time relaxing before walking around the museum.

One of the best museums that I’ve been. The design of the journey of seamanship in New Zealand is displayed very well in the museum. This is a never miss spot if you visit Auckland for sure. As a sailor myself doing around the world race I got inspired more from their stories and histories all around. And of course the americas cup boat is the crown jewel everyone wants to see. Go and have the full sailor experience.

The museum is not very big comparing to maritime museums in bigger countries. You should be able to visit it in 1,5 hour. It is however very interesting. Exhibition ranges from Polynesian sailing (amazing how these people navigated with these rudimentary canoes), discovery of New Zealand, immigration (moving decks display)development of local shipping to local sailing.

There is so much going on, I had to come back a second day just to cover the art exposition. Luckily, my ticket on a holiday included an entrance on the next day. The history and culture of the first migrations were well presented. The theme of Akways Song in the Water provided a different aspect of the Maritime experience.

Great place to take kids on a rainy day. There’s a space outside with wooden boats where kids can take the helm and lower the sails and tie the ropes so great fun. Lost of areas of interest for different ages. Cafe has vegetarian options and very tidy, pretty big and lots to see. Will come again

Great museum highlights the history and technology of the Māori and Europeans. Great info, excellent exhibits, bookstore, and cafe. Can take a boat ride too. We spent four hours.
