Went here to see the Christmas lights display...was not expecting a display of nightmares. Some of the displays and statues are terrifying. I believe it was worse when the sun was still out, parts seems liked an abandoned amusement park. The biggest issue, pay $32 per adult and was not expecting large sections of the gardens to be fenced off. I was hoping to visit other parts of the garden for the amount paid. Also had rides (although more for children), but that was another cost on top. I understand there is work to the garden and lights, but this cost is a bit rich for what you get. 2 adults = $64 and can stroll around what is available within 20 minutes. Would feel this price is more justified if the entire garden was open or $20 per person (no more) for just the lights. Yes, when it is dark, there are no other lights around the other areas, but perhaps having it open for the last hours of daylight during the evening session would be practical. Overall, lights are generally great when it is dark. Some displays are...disturbing. Overpriced for what you get.

Great place to visit whilst within the Hunter Valley region, the garden itself is quite large with plenty to explore. At different times of the ywar they host different events and festivals with markets as well as rides. Would definitely recommend visiting here with the family/friends or even on a date

Went there for the Mega Creatures event. The place is very spacious and easy to explore. Pram friendly, well maintained. My daughter enjoyed all the attractions and rides. Worth the visit.

This is definitely a place of wonder. If you are a nature lover then you will enjoy the beauty of all the different plants in any season. But that can be hard with kids, right? Not here! The special events that run in the school holidays keep kids occupied with fascinating things to ignite their sense of wonder, but it is in the lush surrounds of nature that everyone is able to enjoy together. We had a kids meal and milkshake at the Cafe next to entrance and it was surprisingly good. The rides were fun but the Ferris wheel was unfortunately out of order - not ideal for the school holidays 🥺 hopefully it will be back up and running before our next visit. As busy as it was (being Easter Sunday w/ egg hunts), there were still areas out of the way that were quiet and almost secluded still. Great stretches of grass for picnicking were easy to find too. I would highly recommend the Hunter Valley Gardens to anyone of any age. Just be ready for a fair amount of walking 😉

Claimed to be the largest garden in Australia. There is a free parking lot outside the garden but you will be required to buy a ticket to enter the garden. It is 38Aud for an adult. There is a snow playground there for the kids to play when we were there. Not sure if it is a winter thing or it is there all year long. The ticket is just the admission to the garden, if you need to get to any ride in the garden, you will need to purchase an additional ticket which will be 5Aud per ticket. It is a nice place to walk around and take pictures as the garden is well maintained. Perhaps you can get your wedding pic there as well, as I saw people doing it there. Overall it is a place to visit in Hunter valley besides all the vineyards. P/S : bring your own water as the water inside is going to cost a bit

Perfect place to hangout with family. The garden is wide and picturesque. Everything around you are just pretty. The views are amazing. Make sure to add it on your list if you’re driving to Hunter Valley.

I recently visited Hunter Valley Garden and did a photo shoot for my client. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, providing helpful information and suggestions for exploring the gardens. The gardens are visually stunning. Recommended whether you are an avid gardener, nature lover, or simply looking for a peaceful retreat, these gardens will not disappoint.

These gardens are absolutely beautiful and quite a large area. It is really nice that there is a division in areas displaying regions of the world. The storybook area is great for kids and those young at heart. Being that it is Spring the gardens were definitely on display. The loss of 1 star is due to the gift shop being closed, given that it is a weekend. Also, $36 per adult was costly to self navigate the gardens - especially with people struggling with general cost of living at the moment. The staff at the front entrance were very nice and welcoming.

We were very disappointed with hunter valley gardens. The place looked like total shambles with Christmas decorations just scattered haphazardly everywhere in pieces. We provided feedback to front desk but all they said was we came at the wrong time and to leave a review. At a hefty price tag of $87 for two adults and one child, the overall impression was that of a tourist trap focused solely on maximizing profits. The only area that looked nice was the Japanese garden.

Simply amazing.we have bought night light ticket s.which stars from 5:30 pm to 10 pm.as it is summer we can enjoy both day time and night time lighting spectacular. Kids thoroughly enjoyed the ride .The story book garden , fairytale garden, Alice in wonderland mad hatter Tea party, travel around the world miniature, food court etc.we buy ride ticket using dine and discover voucher. Enough parking.my family loved everything about the garden just its a little bit pricey.

Wonderful gardens, great for kids too. Well kept and very photogenic. Have been told by locals that it gets VERY busy on weekends and public holidays, particularly in the good seasons. Do wear decent footwear as some of the paths can be a little rough.

I have photographed heap of weddings at the Hunter Valley Gardens and it is a really good place to have a wedding and to do wedding photos. There are a few locations to choose from for your wedding ceremony, from the waterfall location, the lake location, oriental garden or even the wedding chapel. And there is a huge variety of gardens to choose from for your wedding photos. You can easily walk around the corner and get a completely different look to your photos. They make it really easy to get beautiful photos.

The shops were lovely. The food was great. Didn't go into the gardens as it was to expensive. The EV charging point is fine during the day but could do with a few more lights at night.

Fantastic spot for kids, gardeners, or anyone who appreciates beauty. A must for anyone visiting the Hunter valley, I was surprised that it was not packed for the spring AMAZE event, however, just made the visit more personal for us. Lucky!

Beautiful place indeed. Heaven for a botanist. A lot of beautiful plants but I visited during Christmas and the original beauty of the garden was faded due to lights placed over the plants.

It was a magical experience to witness the hunter valley garden. The lights very set on early by 6 pm and the grandeur could be enjoyed more as darkness engulfed the park. The themes were good , a lot of food was available with good restrooms and bins all around. The garden was totally lit by the colourful lights and the ambience was very pleasing. Totally enjoyed the evening with family n friends. A good place to visit the big garden with lake and good parking space

We went to Hunter Valley Garden for the Christmas Lights festival, and it was amazing! The decorations and lights were so beautiful that no words or pictures can really show how awesome it was. We had a great time exploring the garden and checking out the cool rides, tasty food stalls, and cute gift shop. It's a fantastic place to visit with friends and family, and I think kids would have a blast there too!

Christmas lights spectacular! A great walk-around with the kids. Lots of options for food on site (you can't bring your own food) and rides (6 tokens for $30, most rides 1 token per person. Some rides adults must ride with child). Parking is easy.

Really pretty grounds, seen the Christmas lights which were really nice. Definitely better at night time seeing everything light up. Plenty of food options in the picnic area. Toilets were really clean. Gift shop was decent.

The gardens are beautiful with lots of different kind of landscapes and flora. The storybook area is a great place to go with kids (but also without kids). The garden itself is quite large with plenty to explore. At this moment the Christmas Lights event takes place in the evenings which I think would be great to visit.

Beautiful restaurant and great tastings for sparing wines. Love their merchandise too. Many gluten free options. I loved they had the Tasting option so you could have a bit of 4 main meal options, perfect for indecisive people 😝 Loved it all!

The most perfect wedding venue! We got married here in October in the Chapel & enjoyed our reception in the marquee! The venue and staff is just absolutely perfect! They helped in setting up all our decor exactly how we wanted it and ensured it was all run so smoothly. They were so easy to work with from Enquiry, to booking, all the way up until the big day which helped take a lot of stress off. It was such a hot day on our wedding, but it wasn’t a worry as there’s air conditioning in both the chapel & marquee so it didn’t even affect our day or guests at all! We knew straight away this is where we wanted to get married & so glad that we did!

Emailed these guys night before for a Tuesday morning booking for 7 in December and they rang next day (early) to confirm booking- now that's service! Honestly did not expect a reply. Food was tasty, well cooked. Restaurant was spacious and had great views of their vineyard. Kids were given colouring sheets and pencils. Service friendly and efficient!

Excellent position with ample parking and wine grape garden. Professional & helpful waiter / waitress. Best Pork Chop we've ever had ! Really beyond our expectations for a restaurant opening on 27th Dec 2022. Unfortunately, there was no wine tasting available on that day.

Kane and I had our beautiful special day at the end of august, and what a venue! We are so thankful for the choice of this stunning venue, it was absolutely perfect! We were extremely lucky of the most beautiful day! Peterson house was really easy to work with and fast at replying to email. Like any venue there is certain rules and regulations to follow, but Peterson house was easy to get the list of the dos and dont’s. Thankyou for allowing us to have the most perfect day at Peterson house. Cannot recommend the wedding staff that worked the day of our wedding enough, they were amazing 26.08.23

Our group of 6 thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast. The service was wonderful and so was the food & champagne. Serving size as just right. Would have loved bread options as prefer sourdough.

Nice winery at Hunter Valley, the country of wines. The wine tasting cost only 10 A$ and you choose 6 different wines, however they gave us 10 types to taste. Is a nice touch that are giving cheese, crackers and cold water.

The minute we saw the Chapel at Peterson House we knew it was where wanted to say I do. Not only was the venue absolutely gorgeous, but Lucy, Haylee, Naomi and all the staff went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our wedding was nothing short of perfection. They were professional, accommodating, and a joy to work with from start to finish. Our guests were blown away by the beauty of the venue and the seamless flow of the event. Amazing view, fantastic wine tasting experience, Stuart was very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend! The sparkling wine was wonderful! Wine tasting is held out on the deck, a lovely environment, relaxed and open.

Came here for breakfast, food was pretty good. Service is terrible. We tried the poppy seed bagel. 10/10, absolutely love it. The mushroom dish was packed with rich intense flavour, but lack of texture, I’d give it a 8/10. The lady that served us to our table didn’t bring us drinking water, yet when another 2 separate group of Australians came in (I guess), she served and pour them drinking water. For mine, I had to walk over to ask, and she came with a bottle of water and simply left it on our table. So, in short.. Unless you’re a local, skip this place.

Beautiful rustic venue 😍 this place is well known for its restaurant so we had high expectations. As you can see from my photos the presentation was 👏🏼 the flavours were also pretty good. Our service was great she was very patient and gave us water, etc. food was served super quick too. I didn’t really like the coffee sorry 🫣 the only reason I didn’t give it a 5 is because we probably won’t be back. It was nice to try but the breakfast menu was a bit limited and as a millennial I’d like to see some avocado options 😉 it was also really busy (because it’s so popular) so it was LOUD and I was a bit hungover (lol) soo not ideal. In saying that though, despite how busy it was we were never left sitting there waiting for service or felt rushed to GTFO. 4.5/5

Excellent location and lots of parking available. Staff were super friendly and the meals were lip smacking good. Lovely view and location. Have been there a couple of times and never been disappointed. Highly recommended. A must visit when in Hunter Valley.

Enjoyed a very pleasant lunch at Cuvee. The view, service and meals made this special occasion a memorable one. The menu has a good mix of choices that should suit most and serving sizes are on the generous side. Remember to save space for dessert🥲

We had a great breakfast and morning here. Food was great. My only suggestion would be to either decrease the amount of food on the Bubbly breakfast or in crease it a little and make it a share plate with the option of 2 glasses of bubbly. Not a negative but really big portions. Thanks for a great experience and we will be back

Came here as a breakfast compliment for Balloon Aloft. Food was edible enough. Nothing special at all but I guess that’s because they had to cook in bulks considering the order they received for the day and the 3 menu options provided.

Came here for breakfast and the food and ambience is a real treat. Peterson House is a special place tucked in a vineyard, and it's amazing! What's just as great is the friendly staff. They really take care of you, making you feel welcome and valued. In a nutshell, if you want good food, a charming setting, and friendly faces, this place in the vineyard is a winner! P.S. If you're a fan of chai lattes or looking to discover a comforting beverage, the Cinnamon Chai Latte is a must-try!!

Dishes we sampled were great!!! Balmain bugs and fried buratta are highly recommended. The service was awesome. Staff looked after us really well!

Enjoyed a delicious champagne breakfast in this beautiful spot after our balloon flights, with free coffee and the option of free wine tasting after. Picked up a couple of bottles of sparkling rosé and bubble bath as gifts. Great service all round. Thank you Peterson House

A delightful spot for breakfast. Following our two-hour drive from Sydney, the meal here was a wonderful start to the day. The bubbly breakfast was thoroughly satisfying, served in a beautiful and spacious setting.

We had a very tasty breakfast with a bubble at the Peterson House after the flight with Ballon afloat! Highly recommend an amazing experience from start to finish.

The place is just nothing but amazing. We did wine and gelato tasting, and i loved the service. My friend had her birthday and we were also having lunch, we hadva free wine glass for her birthday, she loved. They also did a happy birthday deco in her plate. Their food is the best

We had a wonderful bubbly breakfast at Peterson House. All staff were very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. They were kind to let us move to an outdoor table after we had already been set up and served drinks inside. It was a lovely day and we preferred an outdoor table. The food was delicious!! Definitely recommend.

Travelling across hunter valley and entrance for a few days. By far this is the best experience. Wine tasting is great. Kids can get busy with the cheese platter and very kids friendly. There are some mini games for kids on their front yard to keep them entertained. Quite happy to see my kids are happy. Nice atmosphere and magnificent views from top to see the rowing of hills and vineyard. Picture perfect location. Serve by a gentleman with long hair, very attentive, polite and excellent customer service.

We enjoyed a very pleasant tour, wine tasting and picnic at Audrey Wilkinson. They have a stunning view perfect to have picnic. Dee was so friendly and we liked her vibes. She guided us in the tour and wine tasting of different wines. She also gave us a chance to taste the other wines which were not on our set. We really appreciated her in-depth knowledge of each of the wines and their processes. Her recommendations were perfect and we bought a large amount of wine bottles!! Their picnic meals were delicious. Our favourite wine tasting and winery to go!! We’ll go back again.

Our tasting was a great disappointment. Paying up-front OK, 6 adults and young children. Did purchase the cheese plate also. First server moved on after one wine and then the next was just reading from the script. Didn’t seem interested and wasn’t knowledgeable. Visited last time and remembered the great view. The wines were very ordinary, there was not one we even considered buying, was it because we only paid for the $15 tasting. The view is spectacular. Visit for the view. Other next cellar door was completely different, staff treated us so differently and the wines were far better.

A gorgeous place to be proposed to… I came expecting a wine tasting and a small picnic and left with a ring. The setting was beautiful. Located on a hilltop the elegant winery has a picturesque view of the surrounding vines. The team thoughtfully decorated a private balcony with cushions, rugs, and flowers (and kept the whole thing a secret from me until my fiancé was ready to pop the question). This all took place in the rain, but we were well protected from the weather - they had thought of everything! The picnic and wines were lovely, but the standout was our guide who made us feel right at home. I can’t recommend them highly enough!

Absolutely beautiful! I took my wife, son and parents to the Hunter Valley for a weekend getaway and were told by friends that a visit to Audrey Wilkinson was a must. And how right they were! The winery is located at the top of a massive hill, with 360 degree views of mountain ranges, vineyards and overlooked the Hunter valley. We had a wine and cheese tasting during our visit that was exceptionally delicious and satisfying. We were taken care of by the wonderful staff; with particular recognition to Sophie and Sean who helped us out with the tasting and selecting wines to take home. Sophie took us through the wine tasting and was very informative and accommodating in satisfying our wine preferences. She was also very kind to my 2 year old son who became very fond of her while my wife, parents and I tasted wines, allowing us to enjoy and savour the wonderful selection at Audrey Wilkinson. Sophie was very friendly, knowledgeable and made the experience very enjoyable. Needless to say, we look forward to returning in the best future.

i booked a picnic in the vines experience. Not only were we greeted with the most beautiful vineyard in the hunter valley, but also a glass of sparkling upon arrival! The experience itself was amazing, Cameron was very friendly and informative. We were given a wine tasting which came with his expertise and a laugh! The picnic basket provided was also very nice. Definitely recommend for couples!

The wine tasting session was amazing! A big shoutout to Allie who has explained to me all about wine and the vineyard. Very passionate and a warm staff and glad to have been hosted by him! Oh, and superb sunset view too!

We want there today for a picnic and wine tastings. Even though the weather wasn't the best Hamish made the experience better than I could have ever expected. The wine was beautiful, Hamish explained everything perfectly. I went with my mother for an early mother's day and we both enjoyed ourselves. Thank you Hamish for making this experience as great as it was. We will definitely be back.

Had a fantastic day there, had a delightful Sophie tended to us (who insisted she was the Assistant Manager 🤣) and was incredibly friendly and attentive. Was delivered a magnificent cheese plate that was absolutely perfect. Sophie managed to tell us where they source their product, so we made an excursion there to purchase some for home as well. Fantastic day made even better by her recommendations for the rest of our evening. Amazing champagne which we purchased several bottles of, which were consumed that night to out great pleasure

Wow! What an amazing place from the time we were greeted at the door to the time we left was amazing. I had organised a picnic lunch for my wife and I for our wedding anniversary, and it was well worth it. Liz was awesome and down to earth and made us feel very comfortable for our private wine tour and tasting. The cheese platter and setting for our picnic was perfect. I would highly recommend anyone try this experience. Thanks again to the whole team we had a great day.

Audrey Wilkinson is one of the most beautiful wineries in the Hunter Valley. You can have a tasting or picnic and either way you can look over the beautiful vineyards and valley. I have been a member for years and their wine is consistently wonderful (Particularly the Oakdale Chardonnay and the Lake Shiraz). I head to the cellar door about twice a year for a tasting and always walk away happy. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Kat has served me the last two times I have been there (one with friends and one solo) and she is fantastic. The staff really makes me feel valued and as a member, they have gone above and beyond to fit me in on short notice. Definitely recommend.

We did a 10 AM tasting here and it was SPECTACULAR. The wine was perfect. The setting is magical. All of it wonderful but the best part of the whole thing was Ally, our amazing wine tasting guide. They were incredibly knowledgeable and such a clear and careful teacher when it comes to the wines from the Hunter Valley. Ally helped me understand so much about wine in general! What an extraordinary experience and what a perfect guide for the tasting! DO NOT miss this place on your trip!

This wine house sits at one of the beautiful hilltops, making it a superb vantage point for surrounding vineyards and mountains near and far. Our wine tasting host Harry was a pure delight to have, who made the whole experience just more excellent.

What a delightful tasting experience! So many beautiful wines and generous hosts, who allowed us to try a couple special items not featured on the menu. I would definitely recommend the experience and would have bought more if I could bring more home to Canada!!

We didn’t stay at the hotel but came for the premium wine experience and picnic. The tasting ended up to be my husband and I only, which was nice! Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. After that we found a nice shaded place to have our picnic, it came with a big lunch (charcuterie and baguettes) and a bottle of wine of our choosing. We both enjoyed it!

We booked for the seated wine tasting for 3 adult and my 2 children (happily sitting and watch us drink 😅). Jack served us and he was absolutely wonderful! We told him we are the beginners for wine, he took his time to explain to us, sharing a lot of interesting facts and insight view of the wine industry. We are really happy with the tasting too. The Verdelho took us by surprise! And the dessert wine was so pleasantly sweet with a hint of lychee scent, it is a must to grab! All in all the place are beautiful, atmosphere are awesome, the venue has a museum which you can read up more about this place, the staffs are friendly and knowledgeable. It was a wonderful experience.

Had an amazing experience here with the boys today. The wines were delicious and the location was even better. The best part about our experience here, was the warm service - jack was a ton of laughs and made sure we tasted the wines that we would love. Absolute top bloke and we will definitely be back!

We had the picnic and wine tasting package! Beautiful setting and picnic food was fab. Wine tasting was lovely but did feel a little rushed over all. Staff were very chatty and accommodating. Would recommend a visit.

We had such a lovely time at Audrey Wilkinson. Ally has such detailed knowledge and enthusiasm for the wines they make. It made for an excellent afternoon. It was our second visit, as we love the wine and had such a good experience the first time around. Look forward to visiting again.

I like Audrey Wilkinson wines and was most keen on exploring the "Winemakers" selection as I cannot get elsewhere. On arrival for wine tasting I was told that I needed to wait 15 mins for space. So we took in the great views and a quick look around the history/ museum part and sure enough it passed quickly. Tasting was fantastic, all wines were well explained and I got to try a few vintage wines not on the tasting list. Left a very happy chappy with a nice mixed dozen and now a wine member.

Did a tasting with Greg yesterday, He was exceptional in his knowledge of the Audrey Wilkinson wines, gave us a exclusive tasting of vintage varieties and overall a fabulous experience. Also the winery with best view in the Hunter. Highly recommended!

This was our first wine tour in Hunter Valley. Initially, the staff was friendly. However, we were treated very poorly after we left and bought three bottles. When we visited Peterson, the service was much better compared to Audrey Wilkinson. However, my sister wanted to return to Audrey Wilkinson to purchase a red wine mixed with brandy, which Peterson didn't have. So, we returned to Audrey Wilkinson to buy more bottles. The service there was extremely poor, and the tallest staff member was incredibly racist. He refused to serve us and wouldn't even answer our questions or allow us to taste the wine. It was a very unpleasant experience due to his behavior. Eventually, we found another girl to serve us, who was very polite, but the racism displayed by the tallest staff member left us feeling unhappy. Disappointed. If the service like Peterson we are happy to buy more!

Our second time back at Audrey Wilkinson because their wine is just superb. This time, Allie helped to walk us through our experience and what a great experience it turned out to be. It was by far the best service we have experienced on any wine tasting. Thank you for your care, your passion and your knowledge! We have become members because the wine is great but also because of you. We will be back next year and would love to have you again!

My recent visit to Audrey Wilkinson left much to be desired. Regrettably, one staff member, whose name I didn't catch, was unfriendly and declined to serve us. Fortunately, another staff member, a lady, provided attentive service. However, the overall experience was mediocre. The wine pourer seemed impatient and offered limited information about the wines. I would recommend exploring Petersons wines instead, where the staff are experienced and friendly. As for Audrey Wilkinson, I have no plans to revisit and would not hesitate to recommend it, especially to those who may not feel welcomed.

We showed up with no booking and were invited in feeling very welcome. They have a great choice of wine tastings to choose from. However, the star of the show was the host. Bea was absolutely fantastic and clearly loves her job. She is so passionate and knowledgable, it really made the whole experience. Overall a beautiful location, great staff and fabulous wine!

What a wonderful experience! From the gorgeous parking lot, to the entrance of the wine tasting, the atmosphere of this vineyard really is something. We were greeted, and welcomed to wonder outside while our tasting was prepared. Then, the most beautiful, vibrant, and competent Bea came to collect us and guide us along our tasting journey. She is a very charismatic, kind, and knowledgeable (and enthusiastic) person and we were so grateful to have her lead our experience. The wines were marvelous, and well selected, the variety of cheese was delicious, and the stories, history, and context that introduced each was fitting, interesting, and captivating. Will DEFINITELY be back, even if it’s just to see Bea ;)

Nice winery with views from the top of hill and games for kids. Tasting is 20$ with a plate of cheese included which makes the experience nicer. However, we chose the winery for the scenery as we are not big wine drinkers but the table assigned was inside with no view. Seems like the winery didnt use their advantage for the fullest. The views can be one of the main points distinct them from the rest, we could have had much better experience to enjoy the wine with the view but we didn't.

Great wine tasting experience matched with awesome cheese. This place is a little more established and structured than the smaller and younger peers nearby.

Wine tasting at Scarborough Wines Polkobin is always memorable. Their Chardonnays are 2nd to none, and I had the pleasure of sampling their Verdello this trip. The people are friendly, and they have a wide range of sampling options.

Scarborough cellar door is a must visit when in The Hunter Valley. The experience is different from other wineries. I love how you get a nice sit down tasting in this incredible room with beautiful views. You get a flight of local cheeses and a staff member who really takes the time to explain the wine you are tasting. The location of the winery is also magical! You get the best view in the valley. Also, this was the basic experience.. not even the most expensive on their menu! I also believe Scarborough makes the nicest shiraz in the region! I come to the Hunter to visit Scarborough and buy their wines!!!

We came for a wine tasting experience and received a friendly welcome. Opting for the red wine menu with cheese, we eagerly awaited the tasting. The initial two wines were promptly served, and our host provided insights. However, after we finished the first two wines, we waited for 5-10 minutes for her return, but she never came back. The staff seemed occupied with table cleaning, leaving us feeling unwelcome. We ended up finishing all the wines without any further guidance or check-ins from our host.

Visit their original Gillards Road cellar door. Sat outside on the verandah with an amazing view of the vineyard and surrounding scenery. All the wines were already poured with a cheese platter to accompany each one. We were given a fabulous explanation of each wine and told which cheeses went with what. Staff were friendly and all the wine was delicious. Hard to pass on their award winning chardonnay though.

We have loved Scarborough for many years and our recent visit reinforced for us why this is a very special Hunter Valley destination. The new renovations are stunning, and have retained the character and warmth of the original venue. Dani was a gracious and warm host, even though we arrived with an overseas guest very close to closing time. We have visited many times and it is consistently welcoming, enjoyable, memorable. We always buy way more wine that we intended.

What a beautiful wine tasting experience we shared in the old homestead at this winery during the week. We found most wines to be very appealing with taste and the service was impeccable leading us to make a purchase. I’d recommend you make a visit to this winery as they’d be no regrets with the wines or surrounding views with kangaroos amongst the vineyards.

Amazing winery to visit if you are up for some wine tasting with friends or family. The winery is located at the top of a hill which overlooks most of the Valley. To top it off, we were met with incredible service. Staff kindly set up a table with various wine tasting options that we preferenced on entry as well as a platter of cheeses. Great place to visit, I look forward to returning when visiting the Hunter in summer this year

We visited 5 wineries by walking while Scarborough is the best among these. We loved their Chardonnay very much. We wanna buy but they are the first winery we visited, it is heavy to carry wine for whole day. We can't find their wine in Sydney airport, so if possible, buy at their winery first

Stumble upon this winery while driving aimlessly. Driving up to the winery, the view at the parking spot was breathtaking. A strategically built frame showcasing the beautiful mountains is a clever idea. We didn't have any reservations and was grateful to be welcomed. Upon entrance, we were directed to the back yard waiting for the table to be set up. Football, soccer, yard games were scattered to keep guests busy. We had the red wine and chocolate pairing. Great pairing and complex red wines.

We had the most amazing experience at Scarborough wine co today. The location is absolutely stunning and we enjoyed a private tasting in a cosy space with a spectacular view. Bea was the most amazing host who was welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure we had a positive and enjoyable experience. Bea’s knowledge of wine was phenomenal and her passion and enthusiasm was infectious. We are so grateful for the beautiful experience Bea provided. We chose to do the Obsessive wine tasting and would highly recommend this option. The wines were spectacular and we can’t wait to crack into our take home choices. Thank you Bea for such a memorable wine tasting experience.

I had a great time at the Hunter Valley Wildlife Park! The animal exhibits were well-maintained and the animals looked healthy and well-cared for, so many babies. There was a good variety of species, including some that I was really interested in seeing. I also appreciated the educational value of the visit. The friendly staff were knowledgeable and happy to answer any questions I had. There were also some extra features like a petting zoo, highly recommend the Meerkat experience and interactive exhibits that were really fun. The Wildlife Park was clean and well-maintained, which really added to the overall experience. I also thought the cost of admission was reasonable given the quality of the visit. Shout out to the wonderful cafe staff and the ladies maintaining the BBQ area Overall, I would highly recommend this Wildlife Park to others. It was a fun and educational experience that I'm sure anyone would enjoy.

Very good selection of animals for the price. The park has three types of interactive animals that you can feed when purchasing a feed bag from the counter (we got two large bags for $13). You can feed camels, ostriches, farm animals, kangaroos, and lorikeets. I thought the park was good value and very entertaining.

One of the best zoos i've been to. I really appreciate the low glass windows which allow my toddler to easily see and fully experience the zoo. They might not have all the big animals, but they have options to pet and feed some of them. Parking is sufficient but outside. Best to make sure you don't go there on a rainy day.

Loved my time here!!! We went and didn't expect it to be all that much, but we were wrong!!! It was a very laid bad place which we loved. A lot of interactions with the animals, way more than I expected. The park is small, but we still managed to spend the better part of the day here l, bouncing between habitats and watching the animals.

Recent trip midweek with family to occupy kids home from school (industrial action). Extremely enjoyable family experience, really relaxed, no rush, hustle or queue! Truly lovely customer service (extra helpful with discovery vouchers), site easy to navigate, little map for kids to collect stamps, small outdoor cafe offering light lunch /refreshments. Lots of fabulous animals to observe and love to book an animal encounter on our next trip, can’t wait til there’s one for Giraffes. Can easily make this a half day visit.

Absolutely wonderful wildlife park to visit. It’s obvious that the animals residing this park are stress-free and well taken care of. Such a positive, refreshing energy for both the animals and people visiting. Very cool intimate feeding experience available also.

Wonderful wildlife park with a real good mix of native species but also family favourites as well. Kids will particularly love getting close to even feeding the likes of camels, emus, kangaroos and many other animals. There's also the lure of the lions, crocodiles, cheetahs as well. It's not terribly big but as a small outing it's a warm and feel good environment and really easy to get around. Take some food though as prices within the wildlife park are not exactly cheap so be prepared to shell out a little if you're travelling as a family of group and aren't prepared. Parking is literally outside. Highly recommend for families with little ones wanting an up close experience.

There are a lot of animals to see, well cared for. Sad to see some animals that are not solitary by nature, red tailed black cockatoo. Quite a few albino kangaroos, obviously bred in captivity, but in a safe haven. Suggest not going on 30+ degree days. The meerkats were adorable, but a couple was having a private paid moment with them, so I left and didn't take photos, gave them their privacy. It is great to feed animals for smallish children, very friendly enclosure. Alligators were awesome. They have informative sessions where you learn about the animals. If you belong to NRMA you can get a discount if you book in advance.

Interactive and friendly zoo It was a pleasant surprise to see so many animals which could be easily spotted. The experience was amazing for kids and families in the mid of Hunter valley. The zoo is small but covers a lot of animals for kids to enjoy without getting tired. Also kids can touch and pet pet the friendly animals.

Spent a great 4 hours here with 11 and 13 yr old. Fed the giraffes for $25 which was awesome. Could also feed lots of other animals with the $13 animal feed. Small, family friendly, and fun. Plenty of seating spaces and even BBQs for patrons to use.

We went here on the weekend in july. Parking wasnt to hard as people were leaving when we got there due to a very windy day. Although it was 11am when we were walking in. They have a very good erray of animals for a smaller zoo. Easy pathways around to push a pram if you have a baby. Areas to sit to have a bite to eat if you choose to pack your own lunch. They do have a van to grab a coffee or something to eat. We spent 3 hours there considering the windy weather made it not so nice day. But we did enjoy the animals. They do have a souvenir shop on your way out. They also have a petting farm section for kids to get up close to the animals to feed them.

It's a great mini zoo for the kids. Impressed how spotless all the enclosures are, staff are really friendly and there are lots of options for animal adventures, if you are so inclined. We visit lots of zoo's, but there were a few animals that we hadn't seen before, like the bintarang, and wolves. Very interactive experience....who doesn't like patting a kangaroo?

Plenty to see at this park and you can get up close and feed some of the animals too. It's quite compact so no long walks. Definitely worth a visit.

What a fantastic time we had here. You get to collect the stamps around the park and there are talks about the animals the kids loved feeding the camel. And love that he food is in a ice-cream cone made it easier for the kids to feed the ostrich. Really great day out.

This wild park well maintained and animal cared so meticulously. Also park employees are super friendly and helpful. They do great job over there. The paramount anecdotes is that park absolutely make you feel thrilled. If you’re visiting to Newcastle.! You shouldn't have missed that place for visit :) Huge thanks to Hunter Valley Park workers.! Love this zoo! Have been many times and will keep coming back. Large animal enclosures for a large variety of animals. Perfect size to easily view all the animals without it being too overwhelming or tiring. Accessible and family friendly. Informative staff. Highly recommended.

Great park to bring young kids. My 2 yr old had the time of his life running behind goats and patting the deer. He even tried to stroke a parakeet that was busy eating the cone (rather than the feed inside. You can buy this at the entrance) but the bird just warned him with his beak and went back to nibbling the cone. Most fun part for adults was trying to feed the Ostrich, who loves the cone and eats it with a snap. We fed the camels as well and that was fun too. There arent many animals and feefing the animals seems to be the main attraction. By the time we reached the Kangaroos they were well fed and napping.

Highly recommended if you want to see kangaroos and kuala. You can buy food for the animals and even interact with them. Loved the kangaroos, they are so calm and loved to be pet!

Nice park. We went a bit after 12 and unlucky for us most animals were sleeping. Also unfortunately their sign at the entrance said we could hold a Koala but when purchasing our ticket we were told it’s not done in NSW. However overall I believe kids would enjoy the park.

Just had the 5 course degustation here and we were not that impressed with the service standard and the freshness of the food preparation. For $110/head, I would expect a lot more. Firstly - for table settings, they put all 4 sets of cutlery out at the same time so they didn’t have to reset between courses. This is unheard of in a degustation setting - especially with a small table? Vibe ruined. Next - they had music playing from Spotify but THERE WERE ADS. It only costs about $13/month to get a premium account. Listening to Maccas ads in a beautiful setting seems contrary to the experience design. Lastly - the food was not flavourful, average at best. Many shortcuts, including precut and pre-prepared salad vegetables that didn’t look fresh as part of the plating, the same use of decorative elements (ie. sprouts?!) across all dishes. Service was pleasant but completely perfunctory.

We had the 2 course menu and was quite satisfied. The service was exceptional, and the views were breathtaking. We had the bone marrow – no truffles, only truffle oil, a little disappointing but dish was still very good, the calamari was soft and tender, the angus steak was beautifully cooked. We also had the crispy pork and scallop and roasted pumpkin. Both were also well presented and tasty. A nice surprise was the lemon sorbet palate cleanser, bread with vinegar oil/herb butter, mascarpone and capsicum in between courses. Overall a very lovely experience, highly recommended and we'll be back.

Amazing experience with an outstanding service. My fiancé proposed to me at the restaurant and I couldn’t be any happier having it done at Leogate. The staff is extremely friendly while the food has always been at the best quality, especially the 1kg steak! Then to end it with the owner congratulating us with a bottle of wine. One of the most beautiful restaurants we have been to in a long time, from the setting of the restaurant at the top of the vineyard to the beautifully maintained gardens and outdoor area! The service was exceptional, friendly and efficient and the food was delicious especially the dessert Bombe Alaska. Highly recommend a visit to this estate.

What a fabulous find in the Hunter Valley, from the friendly welcoming attentive staff, to the amazing food that beats any famous chef in Sydney’s you won’t be disappointed, put it on your list. Once you experience Leogate nothing else compares in the Hunter. Congratulations to all, we will be back!

The moment we arrived, the view was amazing, then we opened the room, and it got even better. The room was warm and toasty while it was cold outside. The bed was superb and comfortable. The big TV was a great addition. The giant bathroom, with its own separate massive shower, was an exciting experience. Waking up to the view was the best part of the whole stay. Photos don't do it justice.

Beautiful venue, attentive staff and first class food. Definitely a must if you are looking for fine dining. Complimentary bread with balsamic and oil, cod mousse presented on a serving spoon and a lovely sorbet at the end of the meal.

Had a fantastic time here recently with my family. The staff were all super friendly and knowledgeable. The wines were delicious and reasonably priced. The setting was beautiful. Would highly recommend.

Went for an anniversary dinner and was seated in front of the wood fired hearth. Could not fault the service being a 5/5 with the nice touch of welcome drinks, amuse bouche and bread, which saved the review's rating from the fairly disappointing 3/5 for the food alone. Entree 2/5: Oysters were fairly average, the tuna tartare special was a disappointment as it was a strange texture and flavour that erred on a very neutral side. It wouldn't be a surprise if the tuna was not fresh as we are in the middle of hunter valley and it showed... Mains 3/5: the cheateubriand was cooked well, tender and flavourful, but the huge portion size for 2 made us neutral, moreso sick of it towards the end. The chips were a flop, and reminded us of soggy maccas chips that was just tacked on to the menu because they have to have chips out of the option of truffle mash potato and normal mash. The truffle mash was a nice contrast in comparison. The salad was fairly standard, seemingly drenched in oil and should not come with an added fee (as we certainly wouldn't purchase it again). We had just been languishing at La Roche Bar and their chips with gravy was a blessing from heaven in comparison to this high school student attempt at cutting potatoes and frying them. Dessert 4/5: excellent blend of flavours, sweetness and texture. Would recommend.

We chose to eat here to celebrate our 15 year wedding anniversary and we were not disappointed. One of our best fine dining experiences. From the time we walked in to the service and knowledge of the menu. Timing of meals was spot on. Every course was amazing and the dry aged steak was the best I've had. Definitely will recommend this venue.

Lewis is a fantastic host! He and Mike took great care of us. The wines were excellent, it was hard to decide which take home (but we managed). The cheeseboard pairing was a great addition to our wine experience. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and would make a wonderful location for a special event. Overall, Ivanhoe is an outstanding stop to make during a Hunter Valley wine tour!

Ivanhoe wines is a great experience. We did a masterclass with host Troy, who was knowledgeable, engaging and friendly. He guided us through the tasting so well, we learnt all about the different varieties and soils and even about pruning! The wines themselves are delicious, some of the nicest reds I've tried in the Hunter region. The winery is so picturesque, sitting up on the balcony overlooking the gorgeous green vineyards. Definitely make the time to stop in!

Had a fantastic wine tasting experience at Ivanhoe Wines. Jack was extremely knowledgeable about the wines and winemakers process, and incredibly patient with my 8 year old twin nephews who had a LOT of questions (about anything and everything, as young and inquisitive kids tend to have). The scenery was lush, and the overall experience very relaxing. Highly recommend!

Great winery with beautiful garden and vinyard views, host is very friendly. We came at 4h30 and they explained to us that the seating tasting is usually 45 mins, however they can do a wick tasting on the counter for less than 30 mins. We went for it and had very nice friendly experience and they even offered us the tasting at the end. We can ealk around in the nice garden and backyard after, very nice view. Highly recomended to comr and have a tasting with the view.

Lovely spot, good service. The Ivanhoe theme is cool. The wine was nice. Surprised that the $10pp tasting fee isn't waived if purchasing wine. Left a bitter taste, especially when other wineries nearby don't charge a fee at all.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff, beautiful grounds, and so many great tasting wines. It was hard to choose which ones to take home with us! The cheese board was also a hit with everyone in our group. We had our tween children tagging along and they were able to keep busy kicking a ball on the grounds and finding the geese. Excellent stop for guests of all ages!

What a place to start your wine tasting. We had a masterclass from our wine connoisseur Matt, who was knowledgeable, engaging and friendly. He aligned our taste-buds to the wine, and the education we received was 1st class. Ivanhoe wines is in it's own class in the Hunter Valley. Make it a must stop to sample the grapes.

It’s our first time doing a wine tasting and we were very lucky to have booked at Ivanhoe. The ambiance of the place while drinking wine is perfect. Our parents enjoyed the view and the wines. Tilly is very nice and accommodating and made sure that we have the best experience.

Recently went on wine tasting and was totally impressed. We didn’t have a booking, requested for walk in appointment and they were kind enough to accommodate us. Firstly the staff who engaged us during the time there was amazing. She was so patient and super informative session it was. Then the amenities, be it toilets and overall cellar was maintained so well. Parking was easy too Totally in love with the vineyard views. And finally the wine we tasted all were good especially with the cheese plate, perfect combo. Overall was a great experience, highly recommended.

As a part of my Sperm Donation Australia tour of the Hunter Valley, 6th stop of the day I came here, loved the art and the views, and the wine walked away with a bottle of red. Kylie was a fantastic host and made this an unforgettable experience.

If you’re considering a wine tour in the Hunter Valley, make sure you book with Cheers Bus! Owner / Operator John looked after us on Australia Day and was so accomodating. My mum and i had the best day and John went out of his way to make sure we were happy with absolutely everything. John told us history about the wineries, asked what type of wines we were interested in to determine the best wineries to take us to, selected the perfect place for lunch and delivered customer service with a smile. We were picked up from our hotel and taken to a selection of handpicked wineries to suit what we were after - a mix of well known wineries and also some smaller boutique style locations. John has a fridge on the bus which means you can purchase cheese and chocolates without the risk of them melting as well as keeping storage boxes on board to put your wine purchases in for the day so they don’t roll around or get damaged. I’ve been on 4 wine tours and this was by far the best! 10/10 recommend Cheers Bus! Make sure you check it out.

Had a great day out with Dave! He was super personable and loved a chat. Was great to see the bus has been upgraded since our last tour with Cheers a couple of years ago. Wasn't overly fussed about the lunch location of Baume as the prices were extremely exxy, plus a 10% surcharge for a Sunday. Just more of a pub lunch would be preferable in my opinion. Do highly recommend Cheers. Give them a go!

I had John look after us for a Hens Party at the last minute! John was great, he allowed us to change numbers at the last minute & looked after us from the start to finish... he gave us all the details of each winery before we got there, the do's and the don't's... The Cellar Doors he took us to were incredible! Thanks again John... I can't recommend John and the Cheers bus any higher! Best host! Best sense of humour! And worked with us the whole time 🥰

The tour was just what we expected. Highly recommend the tour! The best value for money. John catered for everyone and was an amazing driver and host. Great wineries, great people and we had the best time.

John is fantastic and his choices of venues were spot on. Been on dozens of tours and none have been close to how good a day this was. We had a small and diverse group of 3 couples, John and his relaxed demeanour brought us together. If you are going on a wine tour, you won’t find better.

Piggs Peake has been my favourite winery in the Hunter for quite some time now. I have always found the tastings and service here to be exemplary and staff to be very friendly and helpful. The tasting area has morphed a bit since my last visit but remains comfortable and well managed. We also got a quick walk around the wine making area and a run-through of the magic that makes grapes into wine. We found our tasting session to be very enjoyable and was pleasantly surprised to see some of their wines have developed in new and different directions. They have always had unique offerings which are very different to more traditional types and tastes. It's refreshing to see innovation continues to be nurtured here and that they are still courageous enough to do things differently. Thanks again to the team who greeted us - Jarrod and Aidan. Amazing reds! Was recommended by two cellar doors about this place and boy oh boy we are glad we made the trip here. Tastings for the day were fully booked but we got a little lucky after waiting for awhile. Our group bought a dozen bottles (mostly pig breath and house of bricks Shiraz). Just being here and enjoying the reds made our ride to the hunter valley worthwhile. There is no need to go anywhere else. It is that good.

When booking led to believe tasting was free. Quite shocked by $32 cost unless you buy wine - cheapest was $32 coincidentally. Would have been happy to pay $10 which is average price at other wineries, especially when the small samples poured wouldn’t even equate to half a bottle. Had a wonderful experience years ago before the additions and improvements were made and that’s exactly why we came back. Service at the coffee shop was excellent as was the coffee. Restaurant and menu looked impressive as well. However the experience at the wine tasting was disappointing and felt compelled to buy wine even if you didn’t find any of the wines satisfying to your palate. Would recommend that price of tasting wine be lowered to $10 and be removed with any wine purchase as well as improving the interaction between staff serving/selling wine and potential customers. After all customers who enjoy the experience are more likely to purchase wines in my opinion.

This is the most amazing winery visit by far. Having done this one, there’s almost no point in visiting any more; stay here longer! The wine is the best we tasted, the staff and vintners the most knowledgeable, interesting and helpful. The only problem we had is not being able to carry enough bottles home.

We had a fabulous afternoon here recently. Staff were very helpful and accommodating, and our wine guide was informative, knowledgeable and entertaining. We then moved on to the outdoor restaurant nearby for a delicious meal and attentive staff. Fantastic and can't wait to return soon!

We're long-time friends of the winery but haven't been for some years. Yesterday our party of 6 rocked up and were hosted by Alex. We had a ball and bought a trolley load! A big thanks to Alex for the most entertaining tasting we've ever been too. Steve: he's a keeper!

Honestly, pig's peak used to be our favourite winery in the Hunter and we were soooo disappointed during our visit yesterday! The staff were good and tried their best but the new machine that pours the wine tasting is so impersonal and took away from our experience! The whole experience felt so commerical and made it clear that upper management have gotten involved. $32pp for a tasting is absolutely disgusting and if you want to remain in business I suggest you take this feedback on board and get back to you roots.

Been visiting the hunter just for Piggs for years. The tasting experience is as great as ever, friendly and knowledgeable staff. The wines are consistently amazing, if you have someone new to wine, try the Piggs Juice.

What a great experience, we were out the back amongst the grapes fermenting, part of the action. The red wines, in particular were outstanding. Loved the names of the wines. We enjoyed the sausage rolls and rubber grilled sandwiches. They were amazing! Highly recommend.

Wow! What an experience, simply mind blowing. It was just an honour to see the winery. Steve was amazing and showing us the process of wine making and sharing some great insights on wine producing and specially the secret fortified wine tasting. The man was on mission to tell us all about his passion of producing some amazing wine. An absolutely exceptional experience. No fee no obligation experience. A tasting at Piggs Peake is a must in the Hunter Valley. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and valued. Jarrod met us at the door, presented us with a couple of beautiful Piggs Peake wine glasses and ushered us through the barrel room to our tasting table outside in the winter sunshine. We were then left in the very capable hands of James who with his quick and dry sense of humour and wealth of wine knowledge guided us through the extensive tasting menu. And wow the tasting was everything and more than we expected. Honestly exceptional wines, flavours, notes, colour, and inspiration in every glass. And when our tasting session was over, David took us on a wine crafting journey explaining the wine process and oak influences from the various types of barrels. My partner and I have tried many of the wine tasting offerings in the Hunter Valley and this for us takes the No. 1 spot. That’s not to mention their fully catered members parties in June and July. We purchased our 13 to the dozen deal on the spot. Thank you Piggs Peake for such a pleasant and informative experience. Special thanks to Jarrod, James, and David, you guys made the experience exceptional and memorable. We look for to catching up with you all at the Piggs party.

This was the winery that was rated the highest by our family. It had the fancy cellar door entry, but the actual tasting took place in the barrel room - and was one of the few that didn't have a cost for the tasting. This is one of the few places to have this authentic experience of seeing how the wine is made, although many may prefer the luxe cellar door boutique shop front. However, it was cool and the wines were wine of the best that we have tasted. Our host was very friendly and knowledgeable. The wine maker was there talking to people. The family (group of six) said that this was the winery where more of the options appealed to more of our group.

Exceptional service and advice from Richard, once again. Great to see one of the Hunter's premium wineries with such a strong customer focus. Fantastic wines available, and presented without any rush or pressure. Well worth a visit.

This is a great winery to visit. The tasting staff were really friendly and informative. The $15 tasting fee was waived when purchasing wine. The wines themselves were excellent. Highly recommend visiting this winery when at the Hunter Valley.

Can’t beat the value, tasting $15 AU pp applied to your purchase! We bought 3 bottles. Small but lovely winery, the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, especially Scott who also gave us a tour. Had our picnic lunch under a tree overlooking the vineyard, beautiful area.

One of the best wine tasting experience we had at Hunters Valley. Great location. Great tasting experience. Also, gotta chance to learn some new tips and tricks about wine in general. Our favorite tasting experience in the hunter Valley. The wines were excellent and we had trouble deciding which we liked best. Our host Zach was full of warmth and personality, taking the time to explain each wine in an unhurried and informative way. Pours were generous, and we ended up trying 10 wines. The shiraz was a favorite. Highly recommended as a stop on the valley wine tour. We did have a booking and they were flexible on arrival time. Thanks!

A beautiful vineyard for not only tasting the wine but picking up a picnic and enjoying the beautiful surroundings of the vineyard. A most magical experience.

Great wines however just your typical stock standard tasting experience. Very interesting history within the walls of Tyrrell's winery and beautiful surrounds, worth a visit.

I visited the winery on Easter Sunday and was unfortunate I wasn't able to book for a large group of 16+ so we had to leave some people out due to limited tasting availability of 6 people, however when I arrived the team there was so caring and considerate and they manage to accommodate my large group and figure a way for everyone to get a tasting! What great hospitality and we got to enjoy the amazing views outdoor and wine! Highly recommend if you want to visit a winery where the people take pride in providing great hospitality and passion in presenting a great memorable experience

If you’re here for a wine tasting please ask for Stephanie. She was extremely passionate and proactive. Knowing that we’re not very knowledgeable about wine, she spent a large amount of time sharing knowledge and little tidbits of information, and even allowed us to share a wine tasting between 2 people in a group of 6. She was very passionate (even taking out maps and soil samples) and made the experience extremely enjoyable for all of us. Stephanie also threw in little guessing games and blind taste tests and made our time here really fun and family friendly. Had a really great time with Stephanie!

Amazing cellar door in a breathtaking location. If you are taking a full wine tasting with lots of explanations, trivia quizzes and interesting stories, or you just grab a glass of wine while shopping for wine fridge refill and take the wine to sit outside and enkoy wine and views, this place is worth your time and money. OK, you need to have a bit of both. It's not exactly cheap. But really worth it. We have been twice now and will return for sure many more times.

Amazing winery, loved the staff here! A homely vibe and so warm and welcoming! Their wines were fantastic. My favorite Rosé I've ever tried and the sweet semillon and gewürtztraminer were excellent!! A must visit!

It's a nice vineyard and the wines were not bad, but it wasn't a pleasant experience. In a stark contrast with other wineries, the host was not very welcoming. We felt like we were a nuisance and were very quickly rushed through the tasting. There was no one else they should have been happy to have visitors but it was the opposite. The tasting is $15pp which is the most expensive of the ones I did in Hunter Valley. Strictly according to the menu there are no specials like they always do in other places. I was going to buy some wine but when I asked if they could waive the tasting fee, the answer was an unfriendly no. So I didn't feel like spending any more money there. Not sure what happened there but they should rethink how they present themselves.

This wine tasting was amazing and for only $5 per person, it was fantastic value. It was our first ever wine tasting so Meg showed us how to do it properly! Very good explanations and just a lovely family owned feel to the place. Would absolutely recommend! We walked from the Wine Country Tourist Park, but would recommend grabbing a cab as it’s a little dangerous along the main road to walk.

We went to Ernest Hill Wines out of curiosity, and it was absolutely wonderful. Anne looked after us, she was informative and friendly, walking us through each wine and even provided an extra few to try! The scenery, story and atmosphere were absolutely amazing. As were the wines! We will definitely be back! Thank you!

I've been to many wineries for wine tasting sessions, and this offered by far the best experience of all of them. Neville's tasting session was absolutely excellent, with incredible information and insight. They also offered generous tasting portions - much better than many others - which was excellent of course. Great customer service from Anne as well. Great tasting wines as well. A top class visit!

13 of us joined Hamish for a wine tasting and had an amazing time here, he was so welcoming and friendly and also informative, teaching us all about the basics of wine tastings and the wines themselves. Very appreciative of him sharing his knowledge with us all.. We had a great time, would definitely recommend to anyone coming to Hunter!

This winery was so cozy and homely - Lesley our lovely host did a fabulous job on the wine tasting for our large group. She cracked jokes, tailored the tastings to our preferences, was super knowledgeable - and just genuinely seemed to enjoy her job. The wines were delicious and we all bought way more here than anywhere else - highly recommend this lovely family style winery!

Booked a wine tasting here as we passed through the Hunter Valley on our Australian roadtrip. We walked from our campsite 30 mins away and arrived looking like roasted tomatoes!!! Everyone put us at ease, gave us lots of water and then started what turned out to be a wonderful afternoon of tasting wonderful reds, whites, roses, tawnys, dessert wines.....the knowledge we gained was excellent. It was such a fun afternoon, everybody was really friendly and passionate about what they produce. We bought some of our favourites from the afternoon and to top it of they felt so sorry for us, one of the staff gave us a lift back to the campsite. The tasting was directed towards our preferences but we also got to taste some products we might have overlooked. This was an afternoon that will form a significant part of our repertoire of stories about our travels when we return to the UK. My husband and I had a lovely time at Ernest Hill, looked after by Lesley. She was full of information & was very hospitable. We especially enjoyed the muscat “Christmas in a glass” which was served in a warmed glass. Super tasty. Thankyou for looking after us guys ☺️

Came as part of a wine tour group with Activity Tours Australia from Sydney and we were hosted by the lovely Lesley. She was able to give some nice history and info on wines in the region and we had a great laugh with her too! Tasted several different wines and made sure to purchase some before we left. The winery / vineyards are based in a beautiful area in the Hunter Valley. Would definitely recommend!

We had our first wine tasting in the Hunter Valley here. Ross was very friendly and walked us through each of the wines. We left with a bottle of the Semillon. Would recommend!

Brokenwood is one of the best fine dining places in all of the Hunter Valley, it provides a wide and broad menu which is absolutely delicious. Their staff is 10/10, they are very kind and can answer any desired questions related to the food or wine. The food paired perfectly with the wine and drinks, it was a match made in heaven. The food really enhanced the deep flavours of the wine and made it enjoyable. They also have a very interesting kids menu which can accomodate their allergies. I am most DEFINITELY coming back here next time we are in the Hunter. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. The atmosphere is wonderful as well.

A big thank you to Nat, our event coordinator, from Brokenwood Wines for our Mustang Drive Day Lunch. Nat went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, and the service we received was top-notch. Plus, the food and wine is AMAZING! Overall, I can't recommend Brokenwood Wines enough for any event, and Nat made the experience truly exceptional.

Traditional winery with wide selection available for tasting. Visited midweek so getting a tasting and table for food wasn’t too much of a problem but could imagine it being very busy on weekends (booking probably recommended). The lady who took us through our tasting was very knowledgeable and friendly, wasn’t too formal either which put our minds at ease. Really nice experience overall.

Thanks Amy for a fun and informative tasting experience. We dropped in on the off chance and the $25 fee each was offset against our wine purchase. The upgraded facility is very modern and presents very well. We didn’t eat at the restaurant but did return for breakfast this morning.

There was a singer singing which made a really nice vibe. We ordered a wine tasting menu (Brokenwood favourite flights) with a Barrique cheese platter. The cheese was served with a really delicious bread. The bread has a charcoal grilled aroma and melted butter taste. Very soft bread, matched perfectly with the sauce made with spices and grapes. There are three types of cheese offered. We loved the brie cheese which has an amazing shrimp taste. Although the wine are from year 2021 and 2022 but they still provide some complexity when we tasted.

Great place to lunch or taste or both. Some of the very expensive wines are really nice but we came for a box of table wine red. Something cheap but good to have with our dinner. We enjoyed sampling everything. Had a really good pizza. Left knowing we will return. Lovely views and great staff. I didn’t give 5 stars bc I thought the pricing strategy of the wines was not quite right. I think some inexperienced wine drinkers might get bamboozled opting for a higher end drink when they could get just as good on the lower grades.

It’s been nicely built and nice atmosphere, however I find the $25 tasting fee a rip off when other places had free tastings. They didn’t offer any food with that fee, just tasting 6 wines. And the fee not taken off if you purchase a wine. The lady who served us kept walking away from the table and left us waiting. I think the service needs to be reviewed if you’re going to charge.

I was thoroughly impressed with their customer service from the moment I entered until the very end. Every staff member was friendly, but Baiden stood out as exceptional. Despite my ongoing struggles with English, he understood my needs and offered outstanding recommendations. A special thank you to him! We stayed at the Mercure next door so it was very convenient to walk the short distance to Brokenwood for lunch. We didn’t have a reservation but it wasn’t a problem. We shared a couple of small plates and the food was fresh and delicious. We also tasted a few of their wines and we loved the late harvest Semillon. All of the staff we encountered were helpful and friendly. It was a lovely, enjoyable visit to Brokenwood.

The most delicious meal we had on our weekend away was at Brokenwood. The lamb and pork belly were so delicious and the eggplant dip was smoky and very moreish. Amazing service, highly recommend. We also went for a wine tasting and the staff was so knowledgeable, we had pairing with canapés. Wonderful experience. Harrison hosted us and he was fantastic. This is my new favourite place to visit and would absolutely come back.

Delicious 12 hr slow cooked lamb shoulder at The Wood. The restaurant is definitely worth 5 stars review. Unfortunately wine tasting crew were not as friendly as the restaurant. So we give it a miss ... there are plenty more wineries with great wines we can buy.

Since last time.. I think it was November 🤔 I've wanted to come to this winery.. finally came down today to try their wines 🍷.. Unfortunately I couldn't find my favourite but I promised you that the staff were very well trained and very friendly.. even if we didn't want anything , they still have very good customer service 🤗 The atmosphere is nice and looks amazing n views from the outside were great..

Nice, but a bit overrated. We tried a few times to have lunch or dinner and never got a space. Happy to finally make it, we stopped for a late lunch/early dinner. Lunner. The only options we liked was pizza. The pizza was not bad, but not great. And not why I would stop at the vineyard.

Oli was fantastic!! Booked a wine tasting experience here on a Friday afternoon and Oli was a lovely host. Learnt a lot about the wines from the region and we had a great time! We joined the membership which offered discounts on wine and also our tasting was redeemable with the purchase of wines on the day, which was a pleasant bonus surprise. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

The wines were generally overpriced vs other brands with similar ratings. The fee for the wine tasting was fair however they would ask extra money for tasting the better ones. The coffee in their cafe was very nice. We tasted the Graveyard Shiraz though not bad but at $400 a bottle was very overpriced.

A visit to Brokenwood, under Troy's expert tutelage, is an absolute must for those looking to add a sparkle to their wine-tasting adventure. It's a 'grape' way to spend to spend the day! We're on cloud wine!

Amazing meal 🤩 We highly recommend the feed me option. Every single dish tasted amazing with unique flavour combos and we were surprised by the quantity! Waiting staff were very attentive and service was fast. Will certainly be back next time we are in the Hunter.

Had a great time at this winery in the Hunter Valley. A very peaceful and small boutique winery that is a specialist in Aged Wines. Their 1999 Shiraz is excellent. Great atmosphere for a small group booking. Thoroughly recommended. A+

Went for a tasting. The location is lovely but the lady doing our tasting didn’t know anything about wine. Feel like knowing what “body” is should be a minimum.

TLDR: Matt was sick, wines ripped. Matt was a wonderful cellar door tasting host! So personable, knowledgeable and passionate. Cannot wait to see Harkham when the renos are complete. Stunning wines - delicate palates but with complex tasting notes. Rose was a fave. Will definitely be back.

Hands down my favourite cellar and wines across board! Harkham wines was our first stop of the day and Drew & Bryce were the best company we could ask for. Entertaining, fun, very knowledgable and great laughs.. We even wanted to cancel our last wine tasting and come back here! That’s how much we loved it. The best Sémillon in the Hunter Valley Region and love the stories and history behind this little gem and support with their Hark Angel Shiraz. Have visited the winery for a tasting and it's one of our favourites. The chocolate wine is absolutely unique . I have purchased online from Harkham too and the service could not have been any better. Highly recommend.

Really disappointing. Range is limited. Wine is over-priced and not that special. Service was indifferent. Last year we'd tried the Rose and it was great but the wine has gone downhill. With so many wineries around this just doesn't have enough going for it.

The reviews are all true. Harkham is simply superb -both the wines and the service. Bryce's knowledge and passion really showed as he served us those incredible wines. Harkham was the fourth winery we visited on the day but was the best overall. I was never a Rosé fan but just a taste of the 2021 Alchimie Rose made me buy my first Rosé in years. I'll definitely return.

Awesome winery! Was really the highlight of my trip! Amazing organic wines and a really cool and hip vine, epic tunes pumping! This was the last visit of our day and was by far my favourite one! Couldn't recommend it more! Make sure you get on the choc liqueur wine, so damn good! Really loved the Aziza's Chardonnay (and I'm not a white wine drinker!!)

Fantastic time at Wine House. Took the Hunter Unearthed wine tasting Journey out on the terrace in the winter sunshine with our pup Monte. Our host Lisa was a joy to chat with and she had a wealth of knowledge and anecdotes about the wines and the region. She took time to get to know our likes and dislikes and she lined up a great mix of styles for us to try. Thoroughly recommend Wine House Hunter Valley!!

This place is terrific. I’ve been visiting since 2015 and a club member since 2019 so maybe a bit biased. Of course I’d probably not stay a member for so long if it wasn’t so great. On this visit, Tonia looked after us and was the perfect host. Knowledgeable about the wines and wineries, helpful, and friendly. We partook in the Iconic tasting which allows us to sample a number of top tier wines of our choosing. I love the self serving enomatic system! All the cellar doors are great in the Hunter but I just love that a visit here allows me to try wines from a number of different wineries. With so many different varieties, it’s great and you feel like you’ve done the whole Hunter. Great central location and the tasting room has a great atmosphere and is in a beautiful spot with bushland surrounding. Add it to your Hunter itinerary, you won’t regret it!!

A great wine tasting session and highly recommended thank you Neil. Especially loved your unique ability to customise the experience and your intimate knowledge of the wines served. We look forward to a return visit. It was especially nice to sample and purchase wines from boutique wine producers such as The Little Company.

We booked the 16 wine self-guided tour and tasting on RedBaloon. Neil served as our wine expert for the experience and we could not have asked for a better person in this regard, as he was both incredibly passionate about the wine and very knowledgeable. The wine selection on offer was also amazing, so much so that we bought several bottles of ones we had tried. The tasting platter put together by Tonia was superb when paired with the wine and really made a lasting impression with the selection of cheeses. Can’t recommend this experience enough!

Our host was Adam our favourite experience of the day! Adam made our tasting fun and not too serious! His recommendations were personal and surprising the vibe is sophisticated but not snobby thumbs up from the girls👌

My partner and I visited the Wine House and were not disappointed. From the time we walked in, we were made welcomed by Adam and Phoebe who showed us around and set us up for some wine tasting and a bite to eat. They were so down to earth knowledgeable, funny and engaging. We walked away with a few of our favourite wines 🍷 and an enjoyable experience. While we were there, work was being done outside in the gardens to plant a variety of Indigenous bush tucker plants.. what a fantastic idea! We will definitely be coming back and letting our friends know about this place! Thank you to Adam and Phoebe for making our visit a memorable one ❤️ see you next time :)

We have been here several times and really enjoyed the personal service and great variety of wines. This visit was the opposite, stand offish service, self serve and inflexible re unused credits on their cards. There are many other tastings with genuine staff that are better than the wine house. Try others first

Arrived on a busy Sunday with a large party being catered for outside. We were seated at the bar and served by Gillian. The quality of wines served at our tasting were good however I take exception to being charged $15 and given barely a teaspoon of wine in a glass per tasting. Our server was knowledgeable but overall we felt it lacked atmosphere and engagement.

One of the valleys hidden treasures. If you are looking for something different to your standard one label cellar door, this place is it. Awesome variety of wines from small winemakers of the region. We were so impressed we became members and now are regular visitors. Great setting, friendly, knowledgeable staff and great value wines.

We visited Wine House on Saturday to pick up our members pack and whilst we were there Tonia spoilt us with a Chardonnay flight tasting. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Needless to say, we brought home some more Chardonnay. Tonia is super friendly, Lovely to chat to and will make you feel really welcome. Highly recommend :)
