As you walk through the cellar you will be transported to Inigo's época. Don't miss this visit and a great wine.

Wonderful to ride here on our bikes and immerse ourselves in the history of this wonderful winery. The tasting experience was wonderful with knowledgeable staff and a wonderful variety of wines to experience .

Friendly staff gave us an extra pour during our tasting and the fee is free if you buy a bottle. You should be able to find something you like. Make sure you visit the church next door and the cellar underneath the cellar door.

We did some tasting only, but we're offered a great range of wines. Prices were very reasonable

A wonderful historic winery to visit in the Clare Valley. Wonder around the beautiful grounds and have a glass or two of their great wine on the lawns.

This is a non profit winery runner by professionals but owned by the Jesuits. It is just a short ride from the bike trail so definitely a must. Great wine! But most of all beautiful grounds. The church is close by too and has lots of history worth it to visit!

Mostly good customer service. Beautiful grounds, can also go down into the original cellar as well as the church and crypt.

It was 30 minutes till closing time but still they gave me a chance to try for a wine tasting, still they got energy to entertain me. It was a quick one, even though still happy and excited to go home and sip with my Sevenhill Reisling wine😊Be back next time for more longer time.

Honestly the wine wasn't personally my cup of tea (apart from the Inigo Reisling) however the service was great and the venue is wonderful.

Beautiful place with a long history and great customer service. Cycled 5 km along the Riesling trail to get there which was fun. We did wine tasting, bought a bottle of red wine and some souvenirs. Would love to visit again.

Pretty cellar door, we were very late in the day. The lady seemed like she’d had a long day. Didn’t really describe the wine. Didn’t seem bother to try and sell us wine. We like the kilikanoon Riesling so the experience was a bit of a shame.

Highly recommend anyone visiting Clare Valley to go to this winery. If you want to do the premium experience, you will need to book 24-48hrs at least prior. It is $100pp BUT their wines are exceptional. Even the starting and mid-range wines are beautiful. Their wines are elegant and I can see why they are award-winning. Of the winery experiences, this one was by far the best and we left Clare Valley on a wonderful note. Thank you so much to Carmen for taking us through the wines. It’s always a good learning experience and she made it exceptional. We also drove all the way from Sydney with our dogs and it’s fantastic to be allowed indoors. Ten stars for being dog-friendly. Clare Valley wineries are not very dog-friendly so this was a refreshing change! Thank you so much!

Had an extremely enjoyable tasting at Kilikanoon Cellar Door. The service was second to none and the location is beautiful, it really made our day. Would recommend making this a must-do stop on the trail.

Best wine tasting experience in The Clare Valley. David was very knowledgeable and helpful. The tranquil outdoors setting overlooking the vineyard was great. And so we the wines especially (for me) the Reisling and Shiraz. Highly recommend a visit.

We visited the cellar door after 20 years of enjoying the wines in the UK and Australia. The tasting was super friendly and the wines are superb. A must-visit if you are in the beautiful Clare Valley.

Cycled the Riesling Trail with a small group and were recommended to come here! So glad we did, great service, wines and knowledgeable staff. Highlight though was definitely the cellar dog Franklin who just stole the hearts of everyone that walked through the door! Awesome job guys, we'll definitely be back!

Have been a long time fan of Kilikanoon visiting their cellar door did not disappoint. The staff on duty were attentive, not pushy and very knowledgeable, with fantastic wines to back it up. Highly recommend!!!

We heard Kilikanoon has the best Shiraz in the world and it’s hard to argue. The service was super friendly and the complimentary Sparkling to start our tasting really put us in the mood. By the end of the tasting we knew we had to join the Covenant Club and our first order will be waiting for us back in Brisbane.

Very nice experience. The manager (Carmen) and staff are very friendly. The winery is dog friendly. It is a very good location for wine lovers with dogs. There's a tasting fee, but if you buy some wine, it will be waived. I personally really like the Oracle Shiraz, Mort's Cut Riesling. Will surely revisit if I go clare Valley.

We had a great visit to Kilikanoon Cellar Door last week. The beautiful gardens, characterful cottage and friendly, helpful staff added to our tasting experience. We sat inside but there was ample seating outside where you could take in the beautiful scenery! The wines were delicious and we found a few favourites to take home with us We had a great time!

We preferred Kilikanoon’s wine to many we tried across the Barossa and McLaren Vale. Great Riesling, a variety of 95+ point reds (Rhône and Bordeaux), and an interesting experimental series that I found very refreshing (loved the Kx Riesling). The tasting room’s charm doesn’t fully come across in the photos, but it’s very pleasant and the staff are kind—Carmen took great care of us. (Thanks Carmen!)

Staying at Bungaree was a wonderful experience. It’s an amazing place, so peaceful and pretty. Our cottage was private, romantic and comfortable. The historic buildings and the farm were fascinating, and our hosts Vicky and Mark were very welcoming. We’ll be back!

We stayed here for our grandson's wedding. The venue was amazing, and the Lodge where we stayed was great. If you get a chance, look at the stunning night sky. The reception was in the wool shed after the ceremony on the lawn in front of the homestead. Everything was perfect.

Very interesting property not far from Clare. Pretty, well-equipped cottage (no dishwasher.) There is a self-guided walk around the estate which was really interesting. We also had the chance to feed a few orphaned (pet) kangaroo, wallaby and deer. A lovely stay.

Our nephew had his wedding here & it was just great we didn't stay there but friends did & they liked the little rooms they stayed in also the wool shed was good but all they need to do is have more toilets but other than that its a great place

Their is only one word BRILLIANT the starf were excellent no I take that back they once again they were BRILLIANT Vicki, Kirsty and Mark unfortunately I did not catch the gardeners name but he was lovely, I would recommend a stay any one you will need at least 3 days to look around the property on it's own , I thank You at Bundaberg Station for making our stay once again dair I say it BRILLIANT.

There are not enough superlatives to describe Bungaree station. The gardens and historical buildings, the accommodation and walking trails are simply stunning. An opportunity not to be missed for weddings and other events.

Wonderfully rustic but still conveniently close to Clare. We stayed in the Swaggies’ Hut. Uncluttered but well-appointed, with a modern interior and bathroom (cleverly built into a water tank). Spotlessly clean. Vicky & Mark were wonderful hosts. Highly recommended.

Lovely place to visit with excellent wines. Had the pleasure of visiting the armagh vineyard which was absolutely stunning. My favourite wines were the Annabel Rosé and the Assyrtiko.

The $10 wine tasting fee was very reasonable and was deducted from purchase of wine. Brilliant wines and a great guide. JB continues to make seriously good wines and they are well priced too. When in the Clare Valley, Jim Barry this is a must!

Be aware the place is very elegant but small with no much view or outside sitting. If it is busy is hard because seating is small and service area is small too. besides that the wine is very good and the girls behind the counter very friendly.

What an experience. Not only did we have a fabulous tasting, we had the privilege of being served by the owner and winemaker. Mark's passion for his wine really came through and his reds are spectacular. We couldn't wait to open the 2017 GSM and enjoyed it with bbq lamb cutlets that same night. If you enjoy your reds then Sussex Squire is an absolute must when in Clare... It's not just that the wines are lovingly crafted and so very enjoyable but Mark and Skye are superb hosts. They provided one of the most welcoming, relaxed and informative tastings we've ever experienced. They truly embody the spirit of the boutique winery and their passion shows in their product. I cannot recommend a visit to their cellar door highly enough...

Beautiful setting, warm and welcoming people and some excellent wines. I particularly liked their Malbec and Mataro, and they've won awards for their other varieties too. This was one of those places we found by chance. The 5 star reviews are well founded.

Not good enough? Then don't bottle it! Another visit, another impressive tasting of great reds. Hopefully Skye will get Mark to make a Rosé one day, but until then their range continues to impress. Every wine is made with thoughtfulness, consideration of fruit, weather, season and above all, quality results. If it's in the bottle, they stand behind their product (which they do when they serve you, only just realised that). Beautiful people, beautiful wine. A yearly destination for my friends and I. I didn't think I liked Clare Valley reds. Then I visited Sussex Squire, and this has shot to the top of my list of my favourite cellar doors in SA. Mark was the most incredible cellar door host, taking plenty of time to talk us through his many wonderful wines. If you visit any cellar doors in this region, make sure Sussex Squire is top of your list!!

My partner and I stopped in on a Tuesday lunchtime for a tasting on out lap of Australia. Skye was absolutely wonderful, so knowledgeable and friendly. The red wines were delicious and we ended up purchasing a few. Highly recommended!

A must-visit local winery in Clare Valley! The owners have great passion in making wines. My hubby and I had an amazing time at the wine tasting and learned a lot about wine making and the history of Sussex Squire Wines. Mark controls his destiny as he said - he has to like it to make it, produce small - mostly reds. Their wines are available through his cellar door. I like their reds especially the JRS barrel selections. 🍷😋

Wonderful family run winery. They have sheep to keep the weeds at bay, they don't use spray. They've just opened a tasting room for their flight of wines. You'll be served with a smile by one of the owners. Theyve got a wealth of knowledge of the region and the wines they serve (obviously!). I really enjoyed the Malbec and the Shiraz. Definitely worth dropping in.

We arrived after 3pm, closing at 4pm. Still felt very welcomed and got the best, informative service. All wines are incredible. Really enjoyed it and of course got a bottle of a good red wine.

What an amazing cellar door experience! Mark (one of the owners) spent a lot of time with our group of 6 explaining wine-making, the wine they produce (they are known for their red wines), their differences, tasting notes and pairings. We loved the Mataro and grabbed a couple of bottles to take home with us. Highly recommend visiting!

Must visit vineyard on the Riesling Trail!! The wines are delicious and Jason makes you feel right at home. Lovely family run vineyard. If you're cycling the trail make sure you pop in for a tasting.

A group of us, 10 to be exact stopped for a tasting and Jason who is the new owner was very welcoming. It is a lovely setting and the wine was very nice and Jinx the dog was friendly too. A small family owned winery who are very passionate about their craft.

We dropped in on the way back from Clare whilst riding along the Reisling Trail. Cool winery and cellar door, nice wine and cool water on what was a pretty warm afternoon. Great location overlooking Watervale and that part of the Clare Valley. Worth a stop friendly staff and knowledgeable staff. Only 450 metres off the Reisling Trail.

Tough gig, taking over a well established, award winning winery, but Jason has done it very well. Not only has the team respected the past vintages, but are allowing their new personality to come through and follow up with some cracking wines (Jinx Grenache, I bought lots). Lovely little setting, cute dog Echo and look for the Peacocks! A definite stop on any Clare wine tour. Little place, large quality. My friends and I will happily keep coming back to watch this vineyard bloom yet again. Thank you for a great visit.

Power was out unfortunately due to storms! But Jason from Crabtree made sure we had an awesome time. Such a cool venue with great wine, we all loved having Jason (Owner) look after us as he went above and beyond. We will def be back!

A picturesque little winery on the side of the Clare Valley with panoramic views over the valley and township of Watervale, Our host Petrie was delightful and very knowledgeable of the wines we tasted, I thoroughly enjoyed the whole selection and couldn't resist a bottle of their delightful muscat. 10/10 will be back

Jason the owner has a passion for what he does and it comes through in his delicious variety of wines. We stopped here at the end of a day cycling the Riesling trail, enjoyed a set of gorgeous wines, chatted with the owner, Jason, and left grinning ear to ear. Not only are they serving up amazing wines but the quality chat and hosting from Jason is next level. We will be back without a doubt and can not recommend Crabtree highly enough. Cristy, Jason, (baby) Hugh, and (doggo) Echo gave us a lovely welcome to the cellar door early in the day! Cristy led us through the tasting of their delicious range of wines. We enjoyed every single one! It was such a relaxed and homely atmosphere. It felt like we were hanging out at a friend's house. I highly recommend giving Crabtree a visit, you won't regret it!

Nice cellar door and wines. Lovely host very friendly however beware of misleading information. Happy to pay the $10 tasting fee and usually the fee is waived if purchasing wines. They have their wines listed with the prices which seem quite reasonable, but you have to buy 3 bottles to get the tasting waived. If you only want to buy 1 bottle, instead of the advertised price of $22 they are actually charging you for the tasting, making that bottle $32!! This is not advertised anywhere in their winery which is not good business and for this reason we did not purchase any wines.

We really wanted to rate this winery a five star as the customer service was excellent and the vibe/atmosphere was great however I think you should be told straight away that you charge $15 per head for a wine tasting. We felt like we were pretty much forced into buying wine so that this price could be ‘redeemed’. $15 per head for a wine tasting is very steep would rather go to the bottle shop and buy wine. We feel like this was really money grabbing and put us off.

The reason for this 5 star review was our host Linda who was so friendly, welcoming and hospitable. Plus free wine tasting is a bonus. Thank you for such an enjoyable experience!

It was an absolute pleasure to visit and Maddy was phenomenal with her knowledge of wines and ability to explain all the different tasting notes. All the wines are reasonably priced too - so much so we took 6. I'd definitely recommend this as a "need to go to" in the Clare region

Lovely wines, great fit out, and not too far off the main road. Friendly & knowledgeable staff, but I would reccomend going at a quieter time to hear more about the wines, winery & vineyards. Accommodating for families.

Maddy was a fantastic host, very personable with great wine knowledge , tailoring a wine tasting for us as she learned our tastes as we tasted each wine - a flexible approach and personalised service rather than ‘just pour the 5 wines and leave them to it’. All this even though it was approaching 4pm closing time. Such a contrast to our previous tasting at another venue. Awesome. Really topped off our wonderful tasting day on the Reisling trail . 😀

Our host was lovely, patient and so sweet compared to a few wineries we have been to. A wide selection of wines to choose from. We spent a good hour and didn't think we would be there that long. Even joined up to the wine membership it was that good. Definitely recommend you to stop over.

Good place for wine tasting with easy access when in the Clare area. They have some of the nicest Rieslings I've ever tasted. Their other wines were totally fine as well. The reds are medium-bodied which is the expected characteristic for Clare Valley wines.

We loved knappstein and can't wait to visit again. We did the classic tasting and loved the Pinot gris and Clare valley Riesling. We also got to try the insider Gewürztraminer and the insider Riesling. We loved those so much we had a case of each delivered to our home in Sydney. Absolutely love the wines here

Popped in for a quick wine passing through. Was a hot 38 degree day and wind picking up. The staff member was very helpful in helping me decide on something for my likes for the day. Went with the Pinot Gris which was crisp which was perfect for the day. They have some music and food on later that Friday and the Indian infused menu looked great.

Great little play space. Not suited to kids under 3 or wheelchair/disabled persons. Does have toilet facilities but they are a fair distance from the play space and are not the nicest. Would take my kids here again to play.

What a great little play ground, lots of adventure style equipment and an awesome flying fox/zip line.. Good undercover and uncovered picnic tables plus water tank and toilet block next to the oval. Well done Sevenhill..

My kids absolutely loved this playground! We spent 2 hours here one day and 1.5 hours the next. The flying foxes are so fun and the climbing construction is also great. Kept very natural and perfect for kids to get dirty and be kids.

Very hot mid-day, but good rides for the kids aged 6 to 12.

Clean and lots of shade. Plenty of tables and seating. Grand kids had a great time. We will be back. Also a great place to have a kids party or a barbecue.

Visited here yesterday in a group of ten people, Greg and his wife ate both amazing people with a great passion for what they do. Our tasting was like being at a show, they are true characters who love what they do. Not only will you enjoy great wine but you will be entertained. This is a 100% must next time you are in Clare

Not even 5/5 stars - should be 7/5 minimum! All the wine here is superb. Loved the Grenache and sparkling red. The experience was absolutely made by the wonderful conversation we had with Greg and the new wine dog! Would recommend this place to anyone coming to the Clare valley or even not going to Clare to go! Be back again

Greg is a great host and is creating a fantastic live music venue for visitors and residents of the Clare Valley to enjoy. The cellar door has great atmosphere. I am so looking forward to spending lazy afternoons on the deck listening to great music, eating fabulous food, and drinking sensational wines!

What a treasure to the Clare Valley offering. We will be highly recommending all of our guests from Leasingham (young and old!) to jump aboard the trains. We finally got a chance to get offsite to experience this for ourselves today with our little one and we all truly loved it. Everything was well maintained, volunteers all wonderful. Well done to all involved and thankyou for making our experience so special.

Super recommended, even you come in the time they dont operate train, as long as they are open, they still operate for you, the gentlemen are very friendly, train ride is $2 only , under 3 is free and it's like at least 10-15mins ride (totall is 1.3km)

Hey, you don't have to be a kid to enjoy this place. I had a great time riding around the track on a miniature version of a coal driven steam train. And at $2 per ride per person it was definitely a highlight of my short trip to Clare. And congratulations to all the volunteers that devote their time to something they enjoy.

Attended a birthday party here. Excellent set up with great tracks, bridges and a tunnel surrounded by lovely gardens. Wonderful volunteers who make the rides fun for the kids young and old-including my 87-year old Grandma!

No trains running on this particular day, just met up with family and friends there. This place is beautiful and nice to stroll around with your dog. I was here about 6 years ago when they had the trains running, when my daughter was 4. That was a great day and it was so fun riding around the park on the trains.

The place looks really good. An excellent place to take the kids to. Follow them on Facebook to get all the times they're open.

I was stunned at the size and scale of this volunteer run engineering marvel. The rides were fantastic and the sound of the train going over the bridges was so real it took me back to my youth. I loved it. Then there was the extensive plantings of succulents and other plants which just enhanced the natural beauty of this enterprise. Fabulous! The train station looks better than a number of 'real' stations I have been in. There are shaded spots, a large space to run around and a beautiful lake; which I'm told is not always full. But it is right now, so go. Be amazed and wowed like I was.

A fab fun experience for the entire family. Everyone becomes a kid at heart! Don't forget to grab a 50c bag of duck feed 🚂

Favorite winery of the day. Unbeatable attention and knowledge of wines. Loved the young and old Rieslings and superb Grenache.

Visited Mitchell as part of a small group tour heading for the Flinders Ranges. We tasted a total of 12 wines in a lovely tasting room and hosted by Edwina. She provided us with a great insight into the various wines, all of which were of very high quality. Our favourite was the 2012 McNichol Riesling. If you are looking for a small winery experience in the Clare valley, we could recommend Mitchell is worth a stop at.

Its now winter, so the tasting area was set for cosy! This place has to win best cheese platter for me. Their premium Riesling was superb and different - very complex and slightly oaked.

Absolutely lovely wines (best Reisling I have ever had). Fantastic staff and good cheesy options for mulling your wine purchases. Came on the recommendation of Vinomofo and was one of the best vineyards I visited on my holiday. Thoroughly recommend to anyone considering it.

Mitchell Wines was a wonderful experience. Personalised service from Jane, great knowledge, beautiful wines, dog friendly and enjoyed a cheese platter in the autumn sun with aged Riesling and Shiraz. Will be back !

Some divine intervention made us stop at Mitchell's on Easter Monday instead of our planned winery slightly further on. We had the most glorious experience. Caring family run winery staff going out of their way to ensure we were comfortable and had all that we needed. We enjoyed glasses of wine not previously tried and a very tasty cheese platter Will definitely return and recommend to family and friends. .

Awesome Indigenous Art Gallery where the proprietor is genuinely concerned about promoting and recognising the artists. Highly recommended.

I purchased an indigenous artwork online and had a fantastic experience. I had been browsing the internet and found a beautiful painting by Gracie Morton. I emailed the gallery to ask about pricing and also additional images. It was my first time buying art online and wanted to be as sure as I could be before ordering that the colours would be true when it arrived. Colin was fantastic and very patient. He emailed me additional images and genuinely wanted to be sure I would be happy with my purchase. While I had every confidence I would be happy, he was very accommodating with the process for return if not. Colin kept me informed after the painting was sent and checked in when it arrived to be sure it met my expectation. I have already had several compliments on my purchase. The only thing that could be better would be visiting the gallery in person. The online selection is stunning. Thank you Colin!

A great cellar door and selection of wines. Cellar door manager was really friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic about the wines and Clare valley wine region. Will definitely come back next time in the area.

All the superlatives. Shut the Gate really lived up to the hype. From the moment you're met at the cellar door by the very cool decor and style, this place impresses. The staff were attentive and friendly making for a very pleasant and positive experience. Nothing oozes confidence like talking about other wines one may be familiar with to draw comparison with their own. Well played, a lot of cellar doors avoid this move. The complimentary cheese and cracker platter was a pleasant addition too. The wine list. Well, rather than spoil all the fun, I'll let you discover it for yourself. I can say that the quality is exceptional and even then, a couple of bottles stood out above the rest. A special mention goes to the Grenache and the Pinot Rosé. Brilliant. The pricing is too low. I'll just say that. That's not a complaint or criticism, but some wino lovers shop by price thinking that's where the quality is. Not here folks, dive right in. In summary, loved it and will be back. Brilliant stuff Shut the Gate. Keep it up 👌

My mother and I had a fantastic wine tasting experience at Shut The Gate. Hosted by the lovely Andy, we had an absolute ball here! Definitely my favorite winery in Clare Valley. Beautiful tasting room, fabulous wines (literally loved all of them) and overall a 10/10 experience! Thanks so much Andy, you are a legend. We will be back :)

Fantastic experience wine tasting here. $10 pp/tasting but wiped if purchase wine. We are a young couple and it’s rare that we buy wine following a tasting and if we do, we buy a single bottle. We bought three bottles following our tasting because of how much we enjoyed the wine. Great wine in a lavishly but tastefully decorated environment. Owners came in during our tasting and chatted to us like old friends. Highly recommend.

I first visited 10 years ago and it’s only got better. The wine speaks for itself, amazing variety and you will leave with at least a bottle. The staff are knowledgeable and take the time to make you feel welcome. A big shout out to Andy for being a great host. I hope it’s not another 10 years between visits.

A beautiful winery to visit. The first time I visited this place with family was 2016, so when we visited months ago it's a massive change (for the better) they made a small shop on the previous small room for wine tasting. This place a plenty beautiful areas to sit with a group indoor or outdoor it's a gorgeous place. And their wines... are something we will drive hrs just to get it. Love this place ❤️

Drove here from Sydney and the hospitality from the staff was wonderful. We recommend the Barbera, Fiano, Grenache and Riesling. The Grenache was an easy-drinking red. All reasonably priced wines too, great as gifts. Any cellar door that is dog-friendly is also 10 stars too.

What a lovely cellar door experience! A relaxed and comfortable vibe while tasting the wines, which were generously poured and all very enjoyable! We were even given some cheese and crackers to cleanse the pallet between wines. Will definitely be back when we visit Clare again.

The host, Richard, was fantastic from beginning to end. Was knowledgeable, engaging and interesting. The ambiance of the location was fantastic. The wines are beautiful, we bought 27 bottles 🤣

Fantastic facities easy walking and wheelchair accessible. Great birding and nice scenery for a lovely day out. Don't rush Aston's but take your time and you will enjoy as there is lots to see.

Have been here a few times before. It's a great little wetland area to stretch the legs or let the kids rum around. The ponds were nice and full, with plenty of bird life.

Lovely little spot that is reasonably quiet and frequented by friendly locals. Plenty of spots for picnics or bird watching. Very pleasant departure from busy spots in national parks around Adelaide and the NT without missing out on any of the nature.

Nice walking around the wetlands, several different routes to extend the distance. Pretty flowers were in bloom and we saw several different species of birds. We sat in the bird watching shelter for awhile in the hope of capturing some great shots but that wasn’t to be this time.

Great little place for a walk and a picnic

Great walk from the centre of Clare. The vegetation has grown heaps since my last visit a few years ago. It's all kept very well.

Good place to walk around for 30 mins or so. Unfortunately it is so dry at the moment so not many birds around.
