Clean water lake among beautiful lush green mountains and just beside Secrets on the lake. Barbecue plates,parking and toilets available.

Can be good for photo opportunities with a fair variety of birds and interesting landscape possibilities though I recommend getting there early morning or late afternoon for sunrise/sunset.

Very peaceful small lake, should be good for kayaking. Tried to fishing but no good. We had our dog with us, so couldn't hiking around the lake.

Lovely to look at but not really much to do. There wasn’t much to do there for us as although it is a big lake/dam, there are no boats, fishing (not that we’re interested), kayaks or anything. There wasn’t really even any wildlife, although the area is a massively populated koala area – and no, we still haven’t seen any wild ones in the trees! The only wildlife we saw, that looked a bit iffy, was some chavvy older bloke, taking photographs (with all the kit) of some young – really young – girl, clad in a bra and thong pants, all black and lacy, with platform shoes on the size of Auckland Skytower. She didn’t look at all comfortable and I don’t think it was the temperature! There are some picnic tables and BBQ spots and a large restaurant nearby, by the drive down there was better than the Lake itself. I think it is possibly better on a really hot day, when you are able to throw yourself into one of the designated swimming areas.

An absolutely top family spot. Perfect for a swim, paddle board or canoe. Good little playground and electric BBQ are available with a number of covered seating areas. Also the little known about bush walk to the right of the carpark when you drive in is a magic walk.

Perfect location and peaceful environment.

Stranded in Montville on Sunday!! We were relying on the taxi service to take us back to our caravan park in Mapleton. However, after waiting for quite a while they called us back to say they couldn't find anyone to do the job. Horrified at the prospect of having to walk back, I spoke to this wonderful volunteer at the centre, asking what he recommended, he offered to take us back, even though it would cause him to be late for his meeting!!! Me and my partner came here today for lunch and it did not disappoint! We did the wine tasting and it was lovely to try new wines, we ended up buying two bottles. The lady who did our wine tasting was very detailed with each one we tried. Me and partner ordered the duck and it as absolutely amazing! We also ordered the apple pie for desert and everything tasted fresh and delicious, would highly recommend coming here.

For $60 the cheese platter was terrible, and tasted horrible as well. Pretty disappointing to say the least. For $60 accompanying the 10 tiny pieces of cheese there was 2 very tiny slices of orange, half a date, half an apricot and some jam. The place has potential but needs to add some quality condiments to the cheese platter and actually add some good crackers. Atmosphere wasn’t really great either. Sorry wasn’t blown away.

Drove past on our way to the dam so stopped on our way back. Really glad we did. Did a wine tasting and the staff were really interactive and knowledgeable. We particularly enjoyed the Decadence and the 2 Ports. Will be back on another trip. They also have a restaurant which we didn't try as it was booked but what ever was cooking smelled delicious.

What a gorgeous place to have a nice glass of wine! My server Lia was amazing and managed to pick both a delightful white and red for me to try just by asking a few pointed questions. Spent a lovely afternoon in the yard sipping on some wonderful vinos. Worth a visit. Though I love the wines and wine regions of my beloved South Australia the view here is incomparable.

We we’re driving past and decided to pop in and check them out. Wine choices were huge, there were many people enjoying the wine tasting which seemed popular. We would have liked something to eat but the kitchen doesn’t operate everyday which would have been nice to note on the website. Otherwise the lady was very friendly and the deck was lovely to sit on and enjoy our wine.

We have been enjoying what Flame hill has to offer every year for the past 13 years. We love it! We have always enjoyed the food🥗, the wines🍷 and the location, so close to our accommodation. Today was no different. And again this year, we have had the best service from Jade. Friendly, professional and very helpful. Thank you and see you next year 😀

We were disappointed first time, however, thought we would give them a second chance. Unfortunately there will not be a third time. Food was extremely expensive for what was delivered and was virtually unpalatable. With only a very small menu one would hope they would get something right, however, in this case the answer was NO! The only saving grace was the view and the wine!

The restaurant food, although a few more chips with the burger would of been better, instead of just 4, was delicious and the service was pleasant, but slow. The wine tasting was disappointing. We were not given a glass of water to cleanse our pallet between tastings, and the woman did not describe each wine as we tasted it,she was busy fussing with cleaning rather than her customers.

Some really amazing wine, in the most beautiful environment. Thank you to the kind staff today for brightening my day and introducing me to Flame Hill with such positive welcoming vibes. I look forward to reserving a table for lunch next time, keep up the amazing work!

March 2023 went to Flame Hill for lunch one year to the date of my first visit. Very disappointing. Ordered special of Pork belly which was three large slices that looked and tasted no better than a pub meal. The pork belly was dry and not melt in the mouth like pork belly should be. There was no cracking and IMHO the whole dish was under seasoned. The wine was also very disappointing. I certainly would not buy a bottle. I tried 4 different whites ( at 16 dollars a regular glass mind you). I am no stranger to boutique wines and have enjoyed wines from many other boutique wineries including those from the granite belt and south burnett. I also just returned from an extensive wine tasting trip of numerous boutique wineries in NZ south island so while i appreciate boutique wines are unique Unfortunately the 4 flame hill whites i tried were harsh with little to no aroma and all lacked balance and Body. I recall my first visit one year ago and both the food and wine were significantly better at that time. It was also surprisingly empty for a weekend lunch time with only four tables including ours in the entire restaurant. This was an early indicator of concern upon arrival. Overall i thought both the food and wine for their quality were overpriced in comparison to other venues with more choice of food and better wine.

The wine is ok, view is absolutely beautiful. Service is quite slow. We ordered the chocolate board with us $30 and didn’t in fact come on a board, though a tacky white plate… with a total of 6 chocolates that tasted like they were from a cheap box of chocolates. Wouldn’t recommend :(

My friends and I came here last weekend for a tasting. VIKKI was super lovely and incredibly knowledgeable about the wines. She listened to all of our different preferences and recommended the right ones to every one of us. Even my friend who doesn’t usually enjoy wine, was given options he really liked. All of the other staff was just as lovely and they really made our day! Will definitely come back again :)

We were a group of 7 for lunch. We had to pay a $25 deposit which would then come off the food bill. Some of us had great food and some of us didn't. The food was very expensive for the quantity. The wines were excellent.

This place has so much potential! However, the staff made you feel like you were imposing by being there. Omg, staff did not want to be there which just made the whole experience, not great. The wine was good though, and was genuinely impressed by it. Food was overpriced for what it was.

The Angus beef burger was raw in middle. When we suggested it was was we were told...that was how it was meant to be and I should have ordered well done!!! $30 Small piece of fish with mash potato and two pieces of broccolini $42. Over priced and we were the only ones there and sat in corner on very end of verandah. $14 for small glass of wine and two soft drinks. Meal was over $100 for two people. Not worth the view.

What a delightful find! The food was amazing, the wine recommendation spot on, the location in the vineyard superb and the wine tasting staff the most knowledgeable and pleasant we've ever encountered. Love Flame Hill vineyard. Must return soon for an overnight stay. :)

We didn't stay for the night therefore can't comment re their room. All three of us drives that day so we didn't try their wine neither. The place is beautiful as if we're in a picture. Based on our previous experience elsewhere, the 2 girls don't eat much & I'm the only one within our group who has an appetite normally would requires a 2nd lunch anyway ... so we ordered a A$75 Charcuterie Board for Two to share. It taste good. Re it's portion, according to the girls, they don't need my help & they could finished it easily between themselves ... & ideally still wish for some more crackers. So in terms of value for money, this is most definitely high end places & not suitable for big eater.

Attended with my partner with the intention of having lunch followed by a tasting. After being seated the staff gave off pretty heavy vibes that they did not want to be there which created a pretty bad atmosphere. We both ordered the mushroom risotto which took over an hour to come out and when it did both risottos were gummy and the rice was undercooked. The Pino ordered with lunch was a little rough on the palette, and left a bad aftertaste which left us a little unsettled in the stomach post lunch. We left after lunch without doing a tasting.

We were not sure if we should have booked or not - we saw the beautiful location and noticed it was open from the signs - thought we might try some wines and maybe lunch. However we could see people at the back of the dinning area but no one was coming out to the tasting section or nor could we see a bell - shame maybe next time. Didn't rate rooms as we were not guest.

Great winery white wines are really good. Not a red drinker. Had an amazing lunch on the verandah looking out over the vineyard out to sea. Was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon

Only 20 minutes from the Bruce Highway using a nice picturesque road. Nice walk but 2/3 of walk to Falls is a dirt path which be slippery. The last 200m to the Falls view consists of very steep steps and can be challenging. However it's all worth it ,given the beauty of the Forest, the bird sounds and forest scents...and finally the pool and the Falls themselves. There's a large grassed area with toilets only 150m from the car park ,perfect for a picnic or rest. There was also a van selling some refreshments and food in the car park. It gets 4 stars due to the very limited parking given how popular it is

Beautiful place! The track is well maintained. Lots of stairs, a bit steep. Some places could be very muddy after rain, so my advice to choose black shoes :) After rain waterfalls very full and looks amazing!

Absolutely stunning walk through the forest down to the falls. You might meet a few goannas and a very friendly lung fish 😊 And definitely hug a big old red gum along the trek as they have the most beautiful energy 💚

If this waterfall existed within a bell-curve it would be one standard deviation below the mean. Beautiful views and trails throughout. However, the lack of sufficient running water made the swimming hole unappealing and the waterfall was non-existent.

Beautiful scenic trail, fresh air. Lively rock pools to stop at for swim half way through. There are 3 distances on this trail, so you can decide how far you want to go. Easy walking trail but some areas have several steps. Recommend though, spend 1.5 - 2 hours, easy to do longer if chilling out at rock pools for a bit.

I can’t even express how much I loved this place! You have to follow some trails to reach different waterfalls. If you want to swim there is a nice swimming spot near a small waterfall and you have to walk all the way up and on the way you’ll see splendid lookouts on the forest. It’s simply amazing. When you reach the swimming spot make sure you follow the small river that goes out of the natural pool because there you can sit directly close to the main waterfall that you can observe from the other trail down there. Basically you can sit on the 90 meters high waterfall and touch the water ! It’s An amazing experience. From there you can walk all the way down to the bottom of the waterfall and also that area is amazing with lots of smaller waterfalls Also there are some really special trees and the light is unbelievable!

We set off from the carpark to Kondalilla rock-pools at the top of the Kondalilla falls. Initially, we planned to walk to the rock-pools via the Picnic Creek Circuit (1.7km or a 20 min walk). It was busy. There were rock climbers and kids jumping off the rocks. It was hard to find a spot on the rocks to watch the waterfall. So we got bold, and decided to walk to the lookout, another 1.5km to the Kondalilla look-out. It was so beautiful, so we headed down further to the bottom of the falls. Little did we know we were about to walk the entire 4.8km Kondalilla Falls Circuit! The trail takes you right to the bottom of the falls, which had stagnant water, and was not as pretty as the rock-pools. However, the rainforest was beautiful. The walk back up was intense and we were definitely puffed out by the time we got back to the rock-pools. We only regret not having water & snacks, but we made up for it with a trip into the Montville fudge shop! Beautiful area, highly recommend doing the full circute.

A lovely national park that's easy to get to. We went on a Sunday morning and it was very busy, the carpark got full pretty quickly. Lots of people enjoying the walks and families there for a picnic in the picnic area. Nice facilities and walking trails are fairly well signposted. Have been here a few times now and will definitely be back again in the future

It is a great place to see nature, you will have the opportunity to get until a natural pool and have such nice views

This is a great place to visit, especially if it is pretty hot and humid, as it tends to be a little cooler here than in the suburbs or city. The walks are very easy to do, and lead to a great swimming hole to cool off. The Picnic Creek Circuit is 1.7km or about 20 min walk and with plenty to areas and walks to explore, its a perfect place to escape Brisbane to.

Great place for a day out and a decent walk. Decent size car park which can get busy on a hit day with those want to dip into the rock pool. Picnic area has a number of seating areas as well as 2 BBQ pits of which at least one is electric. Well kept toilet block with soap available. The longer Kondalilla Falls Circuit starts via the upper circuit at the wooden stairs and will take you past a lookout before reaching the Rock Pools. Check out the sizable lungfish (!) in the water before heading further down via the steps and the switchback path. There's a lookout a short distance down the bottom-beaded path. The bottom pool was pretty sad looking given it's currently a drought so hardly much of a falls at the time we went. There's a large amount of boulders you can climb over at the bottom to reach the falls itself, these could be quite slippery in the wet. Return by continuing along the circuit rather than doubling back and the path back seems surprisingly much easier and with fewer steps. You will return back to the Rock Pools from the opposite side before making your way back up the original path from the Rock Pools but along the lower pathway to reach the car park again.

Beautiful lookout on the way to the rock pools where lots of people were jumping into the water or having a picnic. Easy walk that took an hour and a bit return (with a two year old) Toilets are at the start of the walk and no dogs are allowed

Very nice national park! Hike to the waterfall is a bit challenging, but in the rainforest there's always something to see. Reward yourself with a nice swim, the water is refreshing. You can also jump from the rocks, be carefull though.

Loved this walk amazing views and the track isn't that difficult my 4 year old daughter did the whole walk

The circuit walk is great exercise! For a mountain/bush hike, the path is well maintained. Some level of fitness is required. Really pretty picnic area at the start of the walk, and the rock pools are a short walk. Highly recommend!

It's a joy to visit such a place that allows artists and public to interact. Thoroughly recommend a walk through that could take 5 minutes or 3 hours.

We went just this week, the landscapes in this shop are amazing, absolutely beautiful. The subject matter are so different to what I have seen in other shops. Standing in front of them they seem to wrap around and immerse you into the picture. They also have free standing pictures of the landscapes, in 2 sizes done in Perspex, which I have never seen before, very unique, and would make a lovely gift, for yourself or someone special. Karen, the lady that showed us around, and gave us the info on these lanscapes was very helpful and made us very welcome.
