This is one of the few houses in Ramallah remaining built in the classic Ottoman era style. It represents the beginnings of an effort to preserve Ramallah’s cultural heritage in the face of rapid development.

Dar Zahran Heritage Building is focussed on trying to preserve the past and generate interest in Palestine's environmental legacy in the modern city of Ramallah. Very passionate owner, restorer, story-teller and humorist Zahran will charm you while you discover this beautiful little piece of Ramallah's past.

Dar Zahran is one of my favourite places in Ramallah! It is a very interesting place, where you can learn more about the Palestinian culture and heritage. The owner is a very nice host, always available to provide information about this beautiful historic building. It is worth visiting also for the art exhibitions and the gallery with old pictures of Ramallah. Highly recommended!

A must visit place in Ramallah, this is an old house in Ramallah which is kept in good condition. It’s like a mini exhibition here, you can see a lot of art work. The owner of this place is really nice, he speaks good English, and will introduce a lot of knowledge to you. It is usually closed on Sunday but you can try your luck, it might be open

Important initiative for the preservation of Ramallah’s historical heritage! A great place to visit to understand the history of Ramallah and Palestine. The man who owns and runs the house is incredibly welcoming and friendly. There are also art exhibits downstairs.

Zahran is doing a great work preserving the culture and nature all by his own which is really very inspiring. The place is a must for those who want to know more about Ramallah.

Dar Zahran Heritage Building  is located in the heart of Ramallah’s Old Town. The atmosphere and the activities at Dar Zahran aim to preserve the past of today’s fast expanding modern city of Ramallah. For 250 years this building has been the property of the Ramallite Zahran Jaghab family, serving as a family home, guest chamber (Al-Madafa), and the place of residence of Ramallah’s Mukhtar (the head of the town). This old traditional stone building with an enchanting layout is one of the finest examples of traditional homes in Ramallah region and the time-honored art of masonry. After five years of painstaking restoration work, this site has now become radiant cultural, artistic and tourist center in Ramallah.

Ramallah has been “modernising” a lot and when you’re in the city centre you can’t really find much heritage sites, however this place gives you a good sense of the original life styles in the old days. The person running it is a volunteer who is of the 5th generation I believe that owns the house. It used to be a building shared by three families and their animals under the building. The structure of the building is kept the same but refurbished gently. He is a great host and offered us drinks and full explanation of the site as well his other projects. He is an independent Palestinian that is stuck between the Settlement of the Israelis and the “power struggle” of the Palestinians which allegedly due to corruption. The building has paintings and hand crafts for sale as memory which are beautiful and not too expensive. His future plans are to build a cultural library on top of the building. Definitely worth seeing.

We visited the heritage and Zahran was very welcoming. we talked for 2 hours about the situation and getting more insights for the heritage and the people in ramallah. it was very interesting and exciting. the paintings he got in his collection are awesome! would recommend to pass by if you visit ramallah!

Cozy museum, or rather a family home. The entrance there is free. On top of the free tour, the owner offers you tea or coffee and a lot of stories to carry with you back home.

This museum was interesting but it was more of an exhibition display rather than a museum, but it did contain lots of historical information about the history of Palestine. It’s worth checking out if you have time in the city. The tomb is guarded 24/7 so it’s interesting to see that in real life.

The brewery is relatively small by Western standards, but so so worth a visit! We were given a great tour by the female brewer and tried some excellent beer, including their new Winter Seasonal! A great experience!

They call it The Finest in the Middle East for a reason! Couldn't decide what was the best thing there! The finest beer! The best beer tour with the one and only female brewer in the Middle East, and the most friendly owners and people ever in a very lovely town, Taybeh.

We took a tour at Taybeh brewery and was stunned with the quality of beer we taste. I could finished all their IPA if I could. I tasted over 100 kind of IPA in my life but Taybeh’s IPA is the best that I ever tasted in my life. We encourage everyone not miss the beer tour at Taybeh. Taybeh littery means tasty and boy they live to their name, all their beers are Tasty.

I turned up unannounced and the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. I was given a brief tour followed by a sample of their delicious beer. The brewery is surprisingly small but the effort and hard work they put into the product is impressive. Go visit (I visited alone and caught the shared yellow minibus from Ramalleh), buy a beer and sit outside in the sun enjoying the Palestinian countryside. You will not regret it.

Amazing Place in an amazing village- you feel you are somewhere else. Very friendly welcoming. Their craft beers are wonderful, tasty... They are very generous and prices are amazing when you buy a Cartoon of 12 bottles. Very recommended to have a visit. Very international atmosphere. Enjoy

I cannot recommend a visit enough! The beer is very, very good and can absolutely compete with the german standard. They managed to brew completely different beer styles and they do them all well! When I visited we were welcomed with their wheat beer and given a short tour thru the production facilities, which ended in a longer conversation with one of the owners. Their story is fascinating and a great example of the diversity that makes palestine. My personal Highlight of a great trip and the bottle holds a special place in the collection.

A small fine brewery. Brews a top beer Is brewed according to the German Reinheitsgebot. Hops from Bavaria, water from the area and malt from Israel. Very good tour by the owner. The Taybeh Gold and the Brewmaster Zaatar accompanied us on our trip. Really TOP.

It is a modern and very well-kept museum, that tells the story of one of the most important people of Palestinian culture. Here you can find the poet's belongings, and some of his original manuscripts. There is an open air theatre and a beautiful garden here. This cultural place was designer by architect Jafaar Touqan, the son of the late Palestinian poet Ibrahim Touqan. I really enjoyed this place. The Museum's suvenir shop is also worth a visit.

A must-see if you want to understand the Palestinian experience. The curators did an excellent job not only in selecting key points in Darwish's life and the Palestinian story, but they also made the space intimate and reverant at the same time. They play Simon Bitton's famous documentary about Darwish which is also great. Finally, the gift shop has a good selection of special items reasonably priced. I got 3 T-shirts, 2 mugs, 2 books, and a bracelet for $100.

Beautifully built museum complex! The museum itself is rather small, but very interesting. Anyone interested in Palestinian history and the works of Mahmoud Darwish must visit.

Although the memorial is a beautiful landmark, worth seeing, the museum itself is quite small: only one big room. 10 minutes are more than enough to spend inside.

Simply a must visit when in Palestine. As soon as you enter the museum are facing Darwish's work, you're overcome with goosebumps. Touring this museum is a reminder that nothing comes easy and even the great Mahmoud Darwish worked tirelessly to write content that would shake and inspire Palestinian resistance. I visit this museum everytime I visit Palestine to be reminded of this. RIP Mahmoud Darwish

We did a beertour in the brewery. Its a really nice family business with super tasty beer. Our favorite was the blonde. You Should also try the ipa, which is really different to american ipa!

Very nice tour and super tasty beers in the Shepherds Brewery in beautiful Birzeit! Birzeit is a calm and beautiful little place that is easy to reac through the group taxis ("services") from Ramallah. The Tour in the Brewery was interesting, but even better was the beer, so fresh, so cold and nice to drink in the brewery's lobby. Its a superb little alternation to the usual Palestine program.

One the amazing things you should do if you are in Birzeit .. catch up .. buy local beer and get some knowledge about making a local beer process in the brewery

The tour with Rami was one of the greatest travel experiences that I have had. Rami is incredibly knowledgeable, informative, and kind. He is willing to answer all the questions, even the hard questions, in a fair and balanced manner. Further, the tour provides you with such an incredible inside look into life in the Occupied Territories. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in learning more about the West Bank

I will never forget the day we spent with Rami. We wanted to see both sides of the Israeli-Palestinian issues and he gave us a masterful tour as well as a very neutral understanding of the history and outcome of all these years of terror and misery created by both sides. Rami took us into a Palestinian Refugee Camp, through the souks of Hebron. We always felt safe and were treated with the utmost respect by the Palestineans. I love Israel, but it is important to see both sides of the argument. Rami is very knowledgeable, personable, and ensures your sense of safety. I cannot recommend him more.
