There is no proper ghat constructed. Lots of garbage was dumped all around and in the water. Water was dirty and water was not clean for bathing. Flow of water is very fast during rains so it is dangerous to swim in water.

We visited the Ganges in three different cities but Varanasi was by far the best. We did a number of trips up and down the river taking in all the sights and culture. We enjoy attending Aarti whilst on the river which was an experience you won’t find in many places in the world. We were on a colourful tour of India so beautiful to be here for the river ceremonies at night such a beautiful experience. Was so warm and everyone was so friendly. We ended up with a couple of helpers in the boys here the steps here can be tricky with the water and flowers. The payers were beautiful and people travel from everywhere to make the journey here. The Ghat was really crowded during the Aarti and the Aarti is best viewed from a boat. Would also avoid any unusual incidents due the overcrowding. We took the boat from NaMo Ghat.

They will give you a round of all the ghats and tell you the story of each ghat after that they will park their boat in this ghat where you can see the Aarti. Visit atleast 30 mins before to get good seat. You can view the aarti from boat or from behind where it is performed. If you want to see it from boat, take boat from other ghat around 4:30pm to 5 pm. They will give you a round of all the ghats and tell you the story of each ghat after that they will park their boat in this ghat where you can see the Aarti. Aarti is performed by 5 priests in a very pleasing manner, its a must view if you are visiting Varanasi. Aarti is also performed in the morning but evening aarti has its own value.

The new temple premise is huge, spacious and beautiful. Now the golden tower of the temple is starkly visible. Earlier we used to visit just for darshan while this time we could see the beauty and divinity too. The systems are well placed with all facilities especially wheelchairs for old people. It's neat and dry except when it's raining. The only worst experience we had was in toilets. There was no water hence we were prevented to use them. The taps were broken. No proper maintenance and process for cleaning. Too many security personnel but very little guidance.

In Hindus it's one of the most religious place to visit .specially elderly people have this desire to visit this place.the temple is beautifully made and now large scale renovation has been done due to which the temple looks splendid.a large and spacious corridor has been built with lots of different lights and light shows.inside the temple premises the floor is of marble and is very clean.one has to deposit there phones and other things outside in lockers and nothing is allowed inside the temple.but u can take ur phone inside the corridor after visiting the temple.inside the corridor a spacious eating joint is there where u can have lots of different kind of snacks and desserts .MUST VISIT TEMPLE

The temple is the very essence of Varanasi. The whole town is built around it. The situation of crowd control inside the premise is very chaotic. The police does not help you at all in this. Be very careful if you have elderly people with you. Protect them from the chaos so they can have a good experience. This temple is inside BHU campus area but everyone is allowed here as this place should be in your bucket list if you are visiting Varanasi as the sitting area is wonderful you can spend a good time nature and there is also a quick bite food stalls near by temple.

Vishwanath temple is heaven. After going here, the mind gets a lot of peace. My heart wants me to stay here, built by Birla Company and which one has been built with the best design and it has a second floor also. And its campus is very nice. Neat and clean, it is well kept. There is also the duty of the administration here. There is also a small flower garden in the campus which looks very nice. Bholenath's grace is immense on everyone, please do visit once!

Wow simply superb, it is the highlight of the Varanasi trip, very specious, very system way to go for darshan, there is a seprate way to have darshan by using VIP darshan ticket costing inr 300 per person that includes entrance through VIP gate, priest service & Prasad part of the package. Complex is beautiful, with highest level of security, highest level of services for pilgrims, best place for spiritual practices, meditation etc. Nice toilet, restaurant and stay facilities near the complex. A little crowded but a big area so not to worry. Availability of drinking water, shoe keeping place, luggage are allowed inside premises. Aarati takes place in the evening. Th Sarnath Excavation site was one of its kind and the Dhamek Stupa was something that I was in awe with. One of the most famous Buddhist religious place and place of enlightenment. It was wonderful visiting here.

Stupas originated as pre-Buddhist tumuli, in which ascetics were buried in a seated position,[2] called chaitya.[3] After the parinirvana of the Buddha, his remains were cremated and the ashes divided and buried under eight mounds with two further mounds encasing the urn and the embers. Little is known about these early stupas, particularly since it has not been possible to identify the original ten monuments. However, some later stupas, such as at Sarnath and Sanchi, seem to be embellishments of earlier mounds.[4] The Dhamek Stupa was built in 500 CE[5] to replace an earlier structure commissioned by the great Mauryan king Ashoka in 249 BCE, along with several other monuments, to commemorate the Buddha's activities in this location. If you have limited time, you can just see the Stupa from the gate. You won't miss anything. It is just a vast area with the stupa in a far corner. Nothing much to see. It is just big solid cylindrical structure to commemorate "Lord Buddha's first sermon" at this place after his enlightenment in a different place. There is also a damaged fragments of a pillar erected by Emperor Asoka

I visited this place around 1:00 PM on Saturday. It wasn't too crowded, and I could enter without waiting, but I had to purchase the ticket online. To ensure a smooth entrance, it's a good idea to buy the ticket before your visit. The stupa is impressively large, and there are remnants of historical buildings and the grand stupa. The place is exceptionally well-preserved and maintained. It allows you to immerse yourself in the historical Hindu architecture. This spot also serves as a fantastic location for capturing photos, thanks to its clean and well-maintained historical buildings.

Weapons used by Maharaja of Varanasi is displayed in the museum. You will have a great experience here. It's a beautiful place. Especially if you got towards the ghats you can take good photos. Many old historical things are kept as in a museum. It is very poorly maintained even though they charge ₹75 to enter the Fort.

The fort is good but not well maintained, Its a small space which can be preserved nicely… Its a lovely tourist attraction, really unable to understand why it is in such bad condition, all the articles are deep dipped in dust. No plantation inside which gives it a look of deserted fort.

IF I DO REMEMBER IT CORRECTLY IT IS ALSO CALLED AS " VYAS KASHI " IF I REMEMBER IT CORRECTLY OUR COUNTRIES SECOND PRIME MINISTER SRI LAL BAHADUR SHASTRI BELONGS TO THIS AREA. It's an ancient fort which is now turned into a museum. There is an entry fee to enter this place and the tickets can be purchased at the entrance. The museum is well maintained, with all the artifacts labelled with their details. Sadly photography is not allowed inside the museum. As a history geek, I really enjoyed my time here.

This place is a must visit if you are in Varanasi. The entry fee is 75 rupees per head for the fort and the museum and let me tell you this is absolutely worth it. There is a small temple inside as well and the ambience is peaceful..

Beautiful fort of the king of Banaras, Prabhu Narayan Singh which has been converted into a museum with all the vehicles, dresses, arms & ammunition and decorative items used at that time. Inside the museum photography is prohibited. The view of the Ganga from the view point of the fort is great.

In awe with the beauty of this fort. It's been 2 weeks I've visited this place, but still can't get over it. It stirs your nostalgic self from the core. I'd 100% recommend you all to visit this Fort for once. Rating the Fort 5/5 , considering the aesthetics, detailed design and architecture. The museum is not well maintained, I'd rate the museum 1/5 , they haven't been able to preserve them neatly. Each and every single corner is dusty and filled & covered with cobwebs. They're charging 80 Rupees per head for visiting, but the museum says some other story.

Located at the other side of the Ganga Ghats and this place has its own peaceful museum where all the antiques are preserved in a very well manner. The cars, the swords and the Armory which is mostly used in the British Era are present in this museum. Open at 1000 hours and closes at 1700 hours costing 75 rupees per head.

Great place to visit in varanasi! The museum has lots of historical artifacts and was very interesting. You also get a great view of the city and Ganges river from a viewing area. Allocate about 2 hours to view the place properly. Unfortunately no cameras are allowed inside the museum but there are older weapons, old cars, and royalty equipment as well.

Great place to visit if you are in Varanasi. The museum inside houses ancient weapons, guns, dress materials, war gears, cars, carriages, which dates back to 18th century. There is an entry ticket of 80 rupees for Indian citizens, which I felt was worth. My favourite was the ancient wall clock which even to this date gives correct timings and other related information with accuracy. It’s located just on the banks of river Ganges which adds to its beauty and mesmerising views. One big problem here is the parking, which is kind of not at all available.

This is a sandstone structure built around 1752 A.D by Kashi Naresh Balwant Singh. The fort is blessed with absolute serenity and glorified with some historical structure. There is a small museum inside . Entrance inside this fort is free however the museum has an entrance fee . This place could be visited for clicking some archaic pictures . This Fort is a historical place and it's very nice architecture & design. If you want to visit the museum and fort from inside then you would to pay ₹80 per person for Indians and ₹200 for Foreigners.In which you must see historical cars, clothes, equipment and other things. However, due to lack of care and cleanliness, the objects in the museum are dirty.

The entry fee was Rs.80 when I visited the fort. Most of the part of the fort is closed and is not open for visitors. Mainly they showcase many of the old traveling media used by the kings from chariot to cars. A huge collection of war equipment is also displayed. Some of the clothes used by the royal people can also be seen. It's located at the bank of Ganga. This fort also has a beautiful sunset view. A part of the fort is still being used by the royal family members.

The fort is huge and glorious but not maintained. Compulsary museum charges you have to pay here around 80 rupees. Arrogant Staff & they are not supportive. Drinking water tank is rustic. They have to clean & maintain the fort.

It is located on the top floor just beside the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple from the side of Gate no. 1, on the Lalita Ghat. It has the spectacular view of the Ganga. One can sit on the wooden bench in the premises of the temple and enjoy looking at the Ganga among the strong winds that flows from the Ganga. It is a true example of scenic beauty

Very old and wooden temple built by some Nepali King. The temple is a replica of the Pashupatinath Temple, Kathmandu. Its very calm & peaceful out there at the temple courtyard. There is a Peepal tree over there. You can sit there on the wooden benches beneath the peepal tree and enjoy the cool breezes. Its very soothing. You could have a great view of the entire ghats from the top.

Shri Samrajeswar Pashupatinath Mahadev Mandir, also known as the Nepali Mandir, Kanthwala Mandir and Mini Khajuraho is one of the oldest and most famous temples in the holy city of Varanasi. This temple has great religious importance in Hinduism and is dedicated to the Lord Shiva. Constructed in the 19th century A.D by the King of Nepal, the temple is made of terracotta, stone and wood and is replica of the Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu. The King of Nepal, Rana Bahadur Shah took exile in Varanasi from 1800 to 1804 and titled himself as "Swami Nirgunanda". During his exile, he decided to build a replica of Pashupatinath Temple in Varanasi. Construction of the temple commenced during his exile / stay in Varanasi. During the construction, Shah moved back to Nepal. On 25 April 1806, Rana Bahadur Shah was stabbed to death by his stepbrother, Sher Bahadur Shah. His son Girvan Yuddha Bikram Shah Deva completed the project 20 years after the deadline. The land was later transferred to Rana Bahadur Shah by Kashi Naresh in the year 1843. The temple, adjacent area, Lalita Ghat and a dharamshala, belongs to the Nepal government

Very beautiful temple. You can enter it from inside of vishwanath corridor. There's a sitting space on ghat just below the temple, accessed via stairs and it's the most peaceful place to be.

A small and beautiful temple. The temple is quiet place and very peaceful, away from all the rush. I visited this place in the afternoon, and spent around an hour sitting under the sun in the cold weather. Not many people come here at this time. This temple has a great view & thanks to the trees in the premises, it's an excellent place to hang out during a hot & sunny afternoon. And the temple remains closed in the afternoon, so you can't visit the deity inside, but can sit outside in the premises.

Lovely and peaceful atmosphere inside and outside. It was not crowded with tourists or devotees. A neat and well-maintained place to simply sit and meditate. The monk seated inside the temple during our visit was very friendly and stroke a good conversation with us even though we spent a very short time there. He gave insights into the history of Buddhism as well as gave recommendations on monuments to check out in Sarnath.
