One of the nicest tample in India. There are very few priest. And they don't come to u and ask u for worship. Only here I see this. And the place is awesome actually. The temple situated in the lap of mountains. U can stay there also. But the temperature become very low as the sun goes down.

The temple is presided by Maa Ganga. The white temple in snowy hills and on the banks emerald green waters of Ganga gives a hilly environment. Since King Bhagiratha, did penance to bring Ganga to earth, Ganga is called Bhagirathi river till it merges with another holy river Alakananda at Devprayag.

We visited here in May 2023. We stayed in hotel gangotri paradise. Weather was very cold. Temperature went up to -1. Since we went early morning 6 AM, we didn't get rush for dharshan. We had very blissful darshan. When you visit here, do remember to contact Purohit to check your vanshavali and get names added. Ganga ghat, gomukh are very scenic places. You feel the presence of energy here.

beautiful place. i went there in off season of the char dham yatra when the mandir was closed so everything was closed even small restaurants were also closed but a great experience to see the temple. i already took the darshan of ganga mata in mukhwa temple which is where the murti of ganga mata is kept while the main temple is closed. lots and lots of hotels are present in the town so most probably you won't find any difficulty to stay there during the yatra season but I'll personally recommend to choose the GMVN rest house as they are always located at best and brilliant locations. lots of restaurants also present serving everything from samosa to even pasta. and the temple is beautiful the premises around it is also well built. you can take ganga snan changing rooms are present everywhere but keep in mind the water is ice cold it can give you cold.

A beautiful white Temple of Maa Goddess Ganga at the bank of river Ganaga. It is situated at the place where Bhagirath Rishi mediated for many years to ask Gods to send Ganga to earth. A part of chardham yatra, it is full of great energy. A must visit for all devotees.

Commencing my journey from Haridwar at the early hour of 2 am, I, being a Garhwali Pahadi man with a penchant for tea, made several notable tea stops along the route: - Rishikesh (1 cup of chai) - Aagra Khal Village, Naini Nagar (2nd chai) - Chamba, Tehri Garhwal District (3rd chai) - ChinyaliSour, Tehri Garhwal District (4th chai and breakfast) - Uttarkashi (5th chai) - Bhatwari Village (6th chai) - Harshil Valley (7th chai and lunch) - Gangotri (8th chai) Regarding budget considerations, it is advisable to allocate a minimum of 2000 rupees solely for petrol expenses when traveling via bike or scooty through hilly terrain. It's imperative to note that there are no petrol pumps beyond Uttarkashi, necessitating the carrying of 2-3 liters of petrol as backup. In case of unavailability, purchasing petrol from local shops may incur a price of 130 rupees per liter. Accommodation-wise, during the off-season, opting for lodging options 1-2 kilometers ahead of Harshil-Gangotri road can be more budget-friendly, with negotiation often reducing the room rates to approximately 1200 rupees per room. Calm and spiritual place located in banks of the Bhagirathi river, uttarkashi district of uttarakhand the winter abode of maa ganga open only 6 months from may to November, although you can go in winter if the road is cleared by bro, you can stay in the night there have to return to harshil in night. The hardous gomukh tapovan trek starts from the Gangotri. REQUEST- Last time during my visit i observed lots of plastic thrown on banks on the Bhagirathi river, please dont do this apart from religious significance,you are polluting only remaining fresh water sources.

A wonderful and unique temple which is built in the lap of nature. Where it is very difficult to reach, the roads are so intimidating that people start sweating even in the cold. But when you overcome these difficulties and reach there, it feels as if you have reached heaven. Don't feel like coming back from there. Sitting on the banks of river Ganga and looking at the snowy mountains, we automatically start feeling proud of being an Indian, where we see the form of God in everything like river, mountain, forest and animal and worship everyone. This is not just a temple, it is a belief, hence going and sitting in this temple of special importance and meditating makes life successful.

I visited in off season when temple is closed and Maa Ganga shifts to shrine in Mukhba village. It was awesome as there was no crowd and it looked awesome to sit next to Ghat and look at the flowing Holi water. It was soul enriching experience

Please take utmost care when you are trekking to Gaumukh Gangotri Glacier. Don't throw garbage, plastic, bottles here and there. Keep your garbage with you and throw it in to dustbin only.

The temple of Lord Shiva was named as "Shree Kashi Vishwanth Temple" as it is located at Uttarkashi (translated as Kashi of the North), the other Kashi being Benaras/Varanasi (Kashi of the East). Shree Adi Shankaracharya resurrected Uttarkashi as a seat of higher learning just like he did for Kashi Benaras/Varanasi). The temple is located close to the Gangotri Highway and the vehicles parking is difficult, which is to be parked on the side roads. The temple has a calm and peaceful feel. Nice little temple. Peaceful. During evenings you may find a lot of rush, but the crowd is managed well and you can get darshan quickly. There is paid parking spot and the approach road is dotted with vendors.

Loved the vibe in the temple. Best time. The surrounding is clean and well maintained. The are has small stalls. And peoples are helpful. The crowd is less when visitied in early morning. Road are very good . The place had small food stalls. Except the main temple their are also small temple within the premise of the temple. Wonderful place for weekends.

No lane discipline utter chaos expect a stampede issue anytime in few days. They were not able to maintain 20k people while you expect laks during chardham season We have our security and administration personnel watching senior citizens stuck and slipping down. While all available near the shrine gate to move crowds or people would be pushed inside the main temple(shrine). Please put proper barricades and have a queue discipline established. It is claimed that Goddess Parvati would bathe in Surya Kund as a form of worship to the Sun God. Surya Kund is located 500 meter from Gangotri Temple. According to mythology , local Surya used to bathe in these hot springs. Pilgrims must visit this place .

Very old place located near the river, known as pandavas gufa, which is under the ground around 50metre where pandavas hidden during there agyatvas. There is also a surya mandir and hinglaj mataji temple this this place and shiva temple with various shivlings. One can visit with family and friends can take upto 20 minutes for full visit this place because hinglaj mata temple is deep inside a mountain so there are only 4-5 people at a time allowed for visit.

If you are planning to visit Somnath jyotirling temple in veraval, Gujarat then don't forget to visit the panch pandava gufa.

The place is in the middle of houses. Said to be a place here Pandavas stayed. Seeing the size, I am not sure of it. The stairs are very steep, and it is difficult for an average built person to get in. Old persons and fat people do not try. You can reach here by your own car, but parking will be difficult. You can come here by the bus run by the temple trust at 0800 & 1500 Hrs. They charge only ₹ 30/- and take you to other temples also. You have Triveni Sangam and Shankaracharya Temple near by this place.

There are many places around india claiming that pandavas visited the place. We don't know the authenticity but when you are in somnath besides main temple everything else is a let down.

Hinglaj Mata ji was the kula devi ji for the Pancha Pandavar. Here, the statue of the mata ji is inside a cave which has the narrow entry. Only lean people can cross the cave and see the mata ji

A must visit place if you are visiting somnath. The gufa is really small and you need to squeeze yourself to enter. I have uploaded a full video here to have a look. They send people in a bath of 7, so as to avoid breathing problems inside the cave. You might have to wait for 20-30min but the wait is really worth it. It becomes quite hot inside so do not panic. It's really adventurous to go inside. I really loved this place..!!

This is situated near Triveni Ghat at Somnath. This place is famous for Panch Pandav Gufa (Cave) and Hinglaj Mata temple. Hinglaj Mata was the primary goddess of Pandavas. The cave here is a small cave and you have to go carefully inside the cave. Recommended to lean people to cross the cave as the cave is very narrow. Not so crowded, but one of the tourist place for Somnath local sight seeing.

ॐ नमः शिवाय 🕉️ Trekking to Kedarnath with my friends marked my first-ever trekking experience, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. The sheer amount of snowfall we encountered over two consecutive days was beyond anything I had ever seen. Despite the challenging conditions with fast winds and zero visibility, trekking through the snow-filled landscape was incredibly adventurous. Unfortunately, the Kedarnath temple was closed due to the heavy snowfall, but even from the outside, we could feel the divine energy that permeated the entire area. Despite the obstacles, the place exuded a remarkably positive energy that left a lasting impression on me

There is a famous quotes out there-"The best view always comes after the hardest climb." And this place proves this quote. We went there on last week of December to see the 1st sunrise of 2022 from the peak and to reach the peak we struggled a lot. In -15 to -20°C it's really tough to manage everything but once you reach the peak you will feel all the pain really worth for what you get there. It's not only about the views what u get..it's about all the challenges u got there and how you tackle...it's about you who thinks I can't climb 12500ft in snow and finally achieve at the end...it's about pushing yourself. In winter kedarkantha is a wonderland ❄️ full of snow everywhere. Note:- 1.If you are planning to trek then choose a good tour company. 2. Treaking gear is the most important thing in a Trek so always bring everything. 3.Take atleast 2 3 water bottles because between trek no one gonna provide water and u have to buy a single bottle paying 100...(they only provide water once you reach camp site) 4. Don't consume alcohol during Trek. It's really risky at the same time it can cause indigestion. 5.Don't take much luggage there.. only take imp thing and try to make ur bag as lighter as possible. 6. Last and most important point.. Don't throw anything there..keep everything in a single bag and bring it back so that place will be the same after few years also.

I visited this place in December 2021. Our final Summit day was on 30th Dec 2021. Most beautiful place especially in winters U can witness some beautiful snow clad Mountains and click scenic pictures. This was my first Himalayan trek. Local people are also very helpful in nature who struggles alot for their daily survival. One has to struggle alot to climb Summit from basecamp as snow clad Mountains plus cold winds and sometimes slippery and narrow roads makes it difficult to walk. Most beautiful and adventurous trek which offers us to spend 5 days in mountain and snow in winters.

Really a Magical place . One recommendation visit in feb month, you will find abundant amount of snow and the dreamy snowfall. In jan and Dec snow is less., You will find it in the peak summit only. Book through a good organisation your journey will be really comfortable. The experience of living in ⛺, sleeping in sleeping bags , starry nights 🌉 , you can see many astronomical paths ,objects ,satellites clearly. Mainly the sunrise 🌄 from the summit and the ❄️ winterline is just magical. Just go with your friends live your life to the fullest. 🥳

Done a trek on March 03 to 08, 2024 with TTH after a too much snow fall. We saw all the company and trekkers going back from the Kedarkantha base camp as the summit was too much snow and we need to create it . Og the 15 people from our company 7 left at hargoan camp and 4 stayed in kedarkantha base camp .Only 6 of us ( including 2 trek leaders) were there in a peak . Just us and the nature ( went to -10 to -15 with windy ). One of the best day of my life .

I have visited kedarkantha recently and it was a really amazing experience . It's a 23km trek which is divided in 4 days . 1st day you are going to start your trek from Sankri to Juda Ka Talab which was 4km trek after that next day we start our trek early morning and it was again 4 km trek which was till base camp. Then the same night we started the trek in the morning around 2am and reached the summit before sunrise around 6'30. Then we saw sunrise there and had fun with snow . Then reach juda talab stay there.Next day we go back to Sankri.

Mother temple in Uttarkashi is very powerful. She is so powerful that the Trishul does not move if one pushes with arrogance. Whereas with devotion of one pushes through finger it starts shaking. Very vibrant. Good energy for uplifting oneself. Unlike other temples, no one will disturb you if you choose to meditate over there.

The Shakti Temple is situated right in front of the Vishwanath Temple. The temple has a huge ‘trishul' which is six meters high and has a circumference of 90 cm towards the bottom. It is believed that the upper portion of the ‘trishul' is made of iron, while the lower part is made of copper. A magnificent high altitude (15,500ft) himalayan glacial lake surrounded by Manda I, II, III, Thalay Sagar, Bhrigupanth. The trek to the tal is a challenging one but worth it.

The Kedartal trek difficulty is regarded to have a level of moderate to high difficulty. It is definitely not for those who are about to trek for the first time. The lake is one of the highest glacial lakes present in Uttarakhand and to reach the lake one needs to pass difficult terrains.

The 17 km trek to Kedartaal from Gangotri is moderate to hard but never disappoints you with the sights of nature. Both flora and fauna. This highest elevation of the trek is 5000 m above sea level. The institute also offers customised trek to Gaumukh Tapovan for couples and families, thereby creating seasonal jobs for the trained mountaineering manpower of Uttarkashi 👌👌👌

It's been a wonderful experience with the Institute. We as a team have learned a lot. Special thanks to Sunil ji for giving us the opportunity of being there. Doesn't matter the training is on disaster or on Bird watching, the Institute have all kind of trainers, with national and International experience.

The best learning place after the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering. I joined search and rescue course as an institutional candidate. Believe me the instructors totally overhauled our system. It was too tough during the initial days of training but later we reached new highs in terms of physical fitness as well as technical competency to work efficiently in extremely cold environments.

Not for civilians. Most of the instructors are ex army and they treat you like fresh recruits. The first few days are really pain. The fun starts with trekking. Here they involve you in the management of outdoor activities. So you actually learn lots of skills. Food is good.

Loved camping at this place. Enjoyed the high pole exercises. The training is professional and the instructors are among the top mountaineers in İndia. Recommended for those who wish to learn. Food is good , really good.

A high light of this trekking trail is that it takes you through the Govind Pashu Vihar National Park and Sanctuary famed for being a safe haven for flora and fauna.

The name is very interesting. I actually haven't been here but I would love to, one day. My girlfriend feels the same. Are there any good hotels here btw?
