A place I always wanted too visit but with all things C - related I couldn't until now. The WW1 trenches can be eerie especially on your own just imaging life back then in them. Inside the museum, its well decked out! And you wont feel the hours fly by.

A brilliant resource for the whole region. The staff could not have been more helpful. We came here to see a specific item and the curators fetches floces, opened a display case and allowed us to handle the object which my great, great, great grandfather wore. Awesome experience.

Waze took me into someone's house, better look out for signboards. Worth dragging the kids on the 1 hour trip from Dublin. Small but well organised museum. Covers history of English occupation, Cromwell's invasion and story of Lough Oughter Castle. Each room in the museum has a specific theme, like life in the convent, artefacts and a lot on the was of independence. A lot packed in a small place. The main attraction of this museum is the replica of ww1 trench. The trench is worth the visit to the museum. We covered the museum in about 90 mins but definitely need more time to read everything.

This is a well kept secret. Absolutely amazing experience especially the trench which gives an idea of the hardship endured by service personnel on both sides of the conflict. It's really well worth a visit. The staff are wonderful as well, thanks Patrick 😁

Amazing museum in Ballyjamesduff, County Cavan. There's something in the museum and outside grounds to keep eveyone interested. There are great displays on Gaelic football, Camogie, ancient Irish artefacts, life in a World War 1 trench, Irish Independence and rural Cavan life. The exhibitions are based on 3 floors and outside in the grounds at the back. Wheelchair users were visiting the same day that I was there and were able to use the lift to access each floor. You'll need to allow at least an hour to get around the exhibitions. The museum has a lovely cafe serving coffee and snacks, a good shop, toilet facilities and free parking. The staff are very welcoming and pleasant, I left my money in the cafe and one of the staff found me to return it.

This was a highlight among a week of highlights on our Ireland trip. We had most of this place to ourselves and the passion and emotion in much of Ireland's history was palpable. Great cup of coffee too!

I've been a few times now and it's a great museum. It's a gem in Cavan. So worth the visit. The trenches and gpo are fabulous out side the back.

The museum presents a large piece of Irish history ... here we can see how bravely Irish soldiers fought, you can see various stuff and costumes that have accompanied people for centuries. The building is surrounded by a garden. Each piece the museum takes us back into the past.

Great atmosphere and experience some good displays inside really worth to pay visit also entry fees are affordable. We visited during Cavan special event so weekend and was free but on normal week day .it's worth to go.

Fantastic place to visit. Wonderful and informative exhibits of modern irish history and an outdoor representation of a WW1 trench. Took a few hours to get through everything and could have spent more time here if I could. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Will make a return visit before the year is out. (6 stars if I could give it)

My second visit to the Cavan County Museum, and I enjoyed it just as much as the first visit. The WWI Trench Warfare installation was open this time, though only about half, it looked like. It was still interesting and informative about what the soldiers would have experienced in the trenches. The indoor museum is amazingly thorough and two visits aren’t enough to take it all in. This visit the top floor has a new exhibit about the Irish War of Independence, and there is so much history, pain and eventual triumph, though many years before peace. Here are just a couple of photos of the archeological exhibits that are so fascinating.

A gem of a museum. Loved everything including the beautiful Lough Errill Log Boat and the room full of Percy French's stuff. The staff were exceptionally nice ( I'm sorry but it's hard to beat lovely Irish employees dedicated to their work).

Alot of very interesting antiquities pack into a large house. So much to see it took 3 hours to look around. Nice cafe and reasonable priced. Then theres the outside grouds with trenches and war senses. Very enjoyable day.

We both had awesome time just walking around and taking the time just taking in all the history of the area. The ww1 part is a must 👌

Lovely spot for a walk in the woods.. be prepared.. you need to pay 5 euro to gain access.. no coins accepted only cards.. plenty of nice walks plus picnic area and clean toilets.

What a fantastic hidden gem. You need to pay 5euro to get to the carpark. There is absolutely amazing Oak Coffee, with most delicious sausage roll, and home made, to die for cakes. Best latte I had in a long time. Well worth a trip just for a coffee and chat. Walk is lovely with tranquil sounds of river. Plenty of benches, picnic table, toilet facilities by the carpark. During the walk you will spot ruins of old buildings, there's Cabra cottage, Ice House, Duck pond, small waterfalls and even a spring with fresh water and a ladle to drink from! I loved the massive bridge and little viewing platform beside it.

Absolutely fabulous ❤️ I don't live too far from here but I'd never been, I kept saying, yep I'll go, but wow, I'm only sorry I left it so long to visit. Its €5 in for cars, which you tap with your card. There are toilets at the car park which are clean and had toilet roll, always a plus. There are several different walks but just start walking, it's a wooded area with streams and lakes and trees and steps and a wishing well you can drink from, it's really so nice. I will return every week from now on.

Loved it. Lots of buildings and nooks to explore. It is a great place to escape into the wild for a bit. If you have kids, there are even short walks with little statues and fun things for the kids to look out for. Public toilets there weren't the nicest, but to be fair, it's better than going out in the wild when you are desperate.

It's a lovely Forest to visit but I don't understand why you have to pay five euros to get in because that money is obviously not used for the up keep of the roads on entry to the park and definitely not maintaining the public toilets.

Absolutely brilliant, you pay €5 per car to get in but it's totally worth it. The grounds are looked after and taken care of, you have benches to rest or just enjoy the view everywhere and there is not a speck of rubbish. You have a few different roots to take depending on your energy levels and the kids have a great time running around. Totally recommend it.

Beautiful forest with routes for everyone. Paved, gravel, mud. There's one for evert taste for sure. Totally worth the €5 entrance fee (per car, paid only by card).

It's a lovely place with beautiful views, a lake with ducks, a small waterfall, and about 4 variants for walk 🚶‍♂️. There is a cafe where you can buy tea 🍵, hot chocolate or coffee ☕️ with some cakes. Parking is inside, entrance for car 🚗 5 euro 💶

There are some really beautiful views out there, it's a nice walking area. We decided to follow the brown route, but there were no signs for it everwhere, so we wandered around instead. Oh and the parking ramp only gets lifted for, like, 10 seconds after you pay and then it closes again. If you don't pass right away, you'll have to pay again, because -- technology 😕 You can pay with card.

Full oxygen, birds singing, small waterfalls, river walks, hiking in short many possibilities with kids. But it's the only park I paid €5 for entrance, if you park outside than walk in is free of charge.

Amazing park, we had the pleasure to meet on a sunny day! A lot of neolithic history! The park has different trails, do all of them if you can, because you can be surprised at any moment. Most spots have QR code so you can get deeper in the explanations. Highly recommended!

An incredibly beautiful place. Well maintained paths and walkways. In spite of there being an orienteering competition on it still felt like we were the only people on some of the trails. There are loads of geographic and historic features to look at and some magnificent views too.

Been coming to County Cavan to see family for years and did not know this place existed, so glad I found it! If you are into history, geology, nature or just want a scenic walk then you will find it all here. I love anything ancient so the Portal and Wedge tombs here were fantastic, dating from the early Neolithic era. Never knew rocks could be so fascinating though, found the information surrounding the geology of the area just as fascinating. Every where you walk along there are signs of early man or the last ice age. Lots of posts with information to explain what you are looking at. A very well laid out information center is located at the carpark, toilet facilities are available here too. Road to it is narrow but the scenery is very different to much of Cavans usual flat lands. Well worth seeking out and will be returning next year to see more.

Easy hikes, lots of info along the route. Make sure to bring weather appropriate gear as the weather here is often different than the surrounding area due to the altitude. Glad that this is preserved for future generations!

I stayed with a friend at this lovely hotel on Mother's Day. I was greeted with the sight of 2 plates of beautiful chocolate strawberries decorated with baby pink meringues and fruit and a bottle of prosecco in ice, ordered by my son. Loved the room, especially the large separate shower. Evening meal, service and entertainment later in the bar by Mono was very good. Decor is lovely throughout. Very clean, and warm for such a large hotel. I enjoyed my swim in the very nice pool the following morning. Breakfast was very enjoyable.. Just remember to add natural yogurts . We enjoyed our stroll around the loop in the grounds before leaving. Overall , a very positive experience and will definitely come back again. Just check the kettles in the room.. Ours was not working . This is a small detail that we could have informed you about.

We had a 2 night stay. The room was very comfortable with a lovely view. Very clean. We found every member of staff to be extremely polite and helpful. We dined both nights in the main restaurant and can highly recommend it. The breakfasts were excellent. The grounds are well maintained and nice walks. This was our first visit but we will definitely be back.

We ate tonight in the summit restaurant and I had to come and give a 5 star review. The food was excellent, the atmosphere and service was brilliant. There were clean plates all round from our party, a hidden gem for food. Will definitely be back and this time to stay.

We spent one night in this beautiful hotel, we would have liked more. We book a one night bed, breakfast and dinner. When we booked in, we took advantage of the swimming pool. Our room was beautifully decorated and spacious, our huge bed was very comfortable. Only let down was our view... Our four course dinner was exceptional. The waiting staff was lovely, well trained, and comfortable speaking to guests. The buffet breakfast was extensive. The restaurant catered to every palate. We will definitely return to this hotel.

Myself and my son treat ourselves here 3-4 times per year for 2 night stay and golf . Stayed last week and once again very happy . Despite being a little soft due to the weather the course was excellent as usual . Well done to the greens staff. Food and service in the hotel top class in each of the restaurants . One of my favorite hotels in Ireland! Exceptional staff throughout from the moment you check in, you are made very welcome and relaxed throughout your stay. Restaurants and bar food are excellent whilst the staff are trained to be as attentive and polite in their duties. Will be visiting for many more years to come

It is five years since I last visited. I was delightfully surprised. The dull dark furnishings have been replaced with much more modern colourful furniture and carpets. The place looks very uplifting and refreshed. Very efficient and effective service online and in person. Lovely staff. Many dedicated students working here to pay their way through college. The Summit Restaurant offers the best value and option for dining. Setanta more plush and more expensive, but suits that special occasion. Golf course and swimming pool. Busy and child friendly, with cinema and other activities for kids. Very reasonably priced by comparison with similar hotels elsewhere. Recommended.

Stunning hotel. Service was brilliant. Room was clean and done to a high standard. Beautiful grounds around the hotel. If you enjoy golfing defiantly the place for you. Pool facilities very relaxing. I didn't find the pricing over priced. I thought it was pretty normal. Will be coming back.

Just back from a 2 day break at the Slieve Russell Hotel for my partners birthday. They made us feel so welcome from the get go. They food was amazing the pool and spa area was amazing and the golf course is second to none so bring your clubs. I just want to mention one member of staff who nothing was too much of a hassle and that was Amanda who served us every morning for breakfast. My partner needs gluten free and Amanda sorted our ever need. Definitely will be going down again for another wee break as soon as possible.

I went for my Grandma’s birthday in July. It’s a gorgeous hotel with lots to do! We went mini golfing, we visited almost all of the restaurants, and we had a great time! The rooms were high quality with a selection of a shower and a bathtub, both separate from each other! There’s a nice view and had water bottle filling stations to stay hydrated! 10/10, I would definitely come back!

This hotel is absolutely stunning. Luxurious. Spent few days there last week and husband took ill. Michael the duty manager helped to calm us down and rang ambulance. He stayed until husband was taken to Cavan hospital. So kind and supportive. Food is luscious......all staff very helpful...spotless room. I will defo be back again soon. Ps. Husband now home and on the mend

Beautiful hotel, lovely grounds for walk. Friendly helpful staff they were very efficient. All food was gorgeous and we never felt rushed. Drinks including cocktails, red wine and beer were perfect. Barr staff were very pleasant and happy, a sign of a well bar! Rooms were very clean, beds comfortable and shower perfect. We will definitely be back.

Beautiful grounds. The room was clean, and the service was good. Breakfast was very nice- large variety of foods. Please know however, if you are visiting on a weekend, this is a popular venue for weddings. There were 3 weddings going on when we arrived on a Saturday. Not that this is bad, but the parking was challenging, and some of the guests (who had imbibed too much) were a bit loud heading back to their room late at night.

Excellent family hotel. Everything catered for. Kids club for 4-12 Yr old children, and children fed free of charge during summer months. Excellent range of activities for young families. WiFi very good. Food was excellent with a variety of restaurants. Very accommodating staff.

Very mixed stay, certain areas very tired, mouldy walls in hall ways, wasn’t a good first impression. The room, we booked was a suite which was a great size, however headboard was peeling, sofas stained and the bathroom desperately needed tlc. Staff in main restaurant were very good however bar staff really needed to be told to smile and one in particular watch his language, the F word was used far too frequently for everyone to hear. Reception staff were efficient but again nice if more friendly. As for the door staff, one ignored me struggling with 2 suitcases and when it was raining they wouldn’t go out and cover wedding guests with umbrellas! Food was excellent, even bar food although choice wasn’t huge the quality was very good. The swimming pool really needs a refit, even as a guest I needed €1 for a locker, and the whole area needs a good clean. We had a pleasant stay and the hotel has under gone some renovations the entrance and main rooms downstairs are nice but they need to back it up by updating the rooms and giving the staff some customer training

This is a nice hotel, but the young staff need more training. They are super friendly, but not professional enough for this hotel. We waited over half an hour for coffees, which were spilled. We had to change the hot chocolate as we weren't offered the option of marshmallows; again, just too young a staff. The dinner was super disappointing a few months ago, and almost 100€, which was way too much for awful main courses. Won't be dining again. It is a nice hotel though, and the grounds are lovely. Staff are very nice, but need more training.

Stayed last weekend. Hotel, staff, and food were superb. Played 2 rounds of golf. Unfortunately like every parkland type course it was very wet. However the greens were absolutely superb! Can't fault the Slieve Russell for the recent weather though. I'll definitely be back in the summer to experience it again. Beautiful place.

I recently attended a family event in the Slieve Russell hotel and was very impressed with the service and quality of food we received. The staff in the Cathal Cearnach restaurant were fantastic, especially our waiters Charlotte and Cameron. We had a number of smallies with us so it was greatly appreciated. The food was out of this world, I had lamb cooked to my liking and all other dishes were of a similar high standard. The wine pairing was spot on and the care given to our family member celebrating his birthday was very touching. The bill was reasonable, commensurate to the quality of food and service overall. I would definitely eat here again.

My husband and I arrived today. First impressions.....Excellent. Welcoming manager had us checked in and to our rooms within minutes. Relaxing now in the Kells Bar. Delicious sandwiches and tea. We've stayed here before so certainly not disappointed. First class service....First class staff.

The hotel was lovely, and the service was great. Chicken wings for starters were very big and not enjoyable as they just came with a dip of hot sauce, steak was beautiful and cooked to perfection. The swimming pool had too much chlorine in it and stung my eyes, so I didn't stay in it too long.

Large hotel in the countryside. Huge lobby but decor is a bit soulless. Rooms were just average hotel rooms. Swimming pool was lovely overlooking the golf course. Food was mediocre. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Surrounding countryside was nice for walks.

We travelled from Manchester beautiful reception aa we arrived Beautiful place my son got married here food lovely Reasonable prices food and drink Staff were very helpful and professional and looked after us all the way through our meal especially one lady who was fab with my elderly mother healed her take her seat and went over and beyond with her thank you 😊

We’ve been coming to Cavan for the past 25 years and every time we also come to The Anglers Rest, and the quality of the steaks never change. The food is amazing and the staff are super friendly, and when Francis is there you also get great fishing information! My husband always has the steak, but I normally have the minute steak it’s a smaller version but still massive. Love this place and it also has the best Guinness around. During Covid their policy of booking tables and wearing of masks made you feel safe, there is also numerous hand sanitizers all over the place. They do say they invite walk ins - but guys come on, we are still in a pandemic so if they cannot accommodate you there’s a good reason for it they are keeping everyone safe! Don’t moan about it, just book ahead. See you guys again soon.

Clearly has ‘Sunday Lunch 2-5pm’ outside of the pub on the blackboard. Also says ‘Walk-ins welcome’. Arrived at 16:05pm. Didn’t feel very welcome this afternoon. The young lad I dealt with first was very friendly. However, a lady then came along and informed me that lunch was finished at 4pm and I felt that we nearly had to leave. Asked if we had booked a table and when I said no, she didn’t seem impressed and said we would be waiting ages for food but walk ins are welcome? When I asked about the sign outside she wasn’t interested. Unfriendly and unaccommodating. Took business elsewhere.

Ate here last week. Took over an hour between getting a menu & getting the food. Ordered chicken burger, scampi & ribeye steak med-rare. It was way over cooked. Chicken burger was also over cooked & bun was burnt. Scampi was swimming in a pool of grease. They need a new chef & new menu. Won't be back.

Just after having a meal for two a few hours ago. Great food,tasty,filling and fresh. Service was excellent and the restraunt was very clean. Definitely will be coming back when I'm coming through Ballyconnell . Best food I had in a long time while. It was also very reasonably priced. I can see why reviews are so high. Excellent.

Amazing food but poor service! Service very poor: -I had to get the attention of a waitress in order to get us seated (including pointing out a table that was free) - waitress told us the special only for another one to tell us that is wasn’t on -never told the soup or fish of the day - had to wait ages for the food to arrive - never asked how the food was (my steak was over cooked but it would have taken ages to get the attention of a staff member to get another steak but on & didn’t want to wait again) - very difficult to get the attention of the limited number of staff on to take away the plates, get us the dessert menus, dessert spoons only provided after desserts were serviced (2 spoons were soup spoons) The food was absolutely delicious bar my steak being over cooked. The peppercorn sauce & chips really stood out. The service was the issue but I have found most establishments in the last 5 years the service has really deteriorated. Easily resolved with proper training to make the dining experience 5 star again. Drink service was excellent. There may have been a genuine reason why there seemed to be a lack of staff & therefore a longer waiting time. All the staff have to do is initially let the customers know approx. how long they will be waiting which will give them the option to stay or go. Also I would love to see the fillet steak back on the menu as it was the most delicious steak I’ve ever had anywhere We will definitely be back because the food is amazing & hopefully next time the service will have improved majorly.

We had a great pub lunch. Southern fried chicken, mash, peas and carrots topped with gravy. The kids also enjoyed the fish and chips and yummy dessert

Fantastic time spent here with the family. Every visit is better than the last. Plenty to explore here and the coffee has improved something fierce. Surrounding woods full of things for kids to explore and there is a very solid path which is buggy friendly. River too which is full of wildlife. Saw a red squirrel here for the first time too. Definitely visit here every few months. 10/10

We were in the area doing ancestry research and our Airbnb hostess recommended that this park and this forest would be a great place for an afternoon walk. This is such a magical and special place for a tribute to a local girl. We explored and took so many photos to remember our visit. We loved the fairy name plaques on the trees around the forest.

Magical experience for the kids. Very lovely park to go for a walk in with kids. Lots of Fairy doors, houses and little descriptions of fairies. Bathrooms and coffee shop too. Picnic tables by the river. Lovely place to go for a walk.

I loved this! It is a great place for my kids and my dog to walk. Bailey (my dog) really enjoys this place and always knows where to go! The toys, instruments and that horse always keeps my kids longer there. You could go for a short or long walk here. It's the perfect place!

This is a heart felt review. A beautiful Angel gained her wings and her beautiful parents created a fairy forest in memory ofher. We've visited over the years (were from Spain) and each time something has been added to it. It's such magical area for all ages.

It's great for a walk with the kids. There are a few different play areas to keep them occupied. The stepping logs are very slippery, though

I took my Teddy for a wash and new stuffing and they did such a great job. I'm delighted. They were kind, understanding and it didn't take them long to get him fixed. I'm forever grateful.

I recently sent Wolfgang .. my Vintage German Bear 65 years old to them for some much needed TLC .. They have done a wonderful job in sympathetic repair for foot pad ... restitching of his right ear and replacement of his Growler .. they even put a stitch in his nose ... all in all a great experience .... would seriously recommend if your bear needs TLC

A really great experience for children, getting to stuff their own teddies and learn the great skill of how to sew as well. Anke was an amazing host also and has incredibly extensive knowledge in the collectible world of Steiff and Mohair teddy bears! Highly recommend the experience and visit.

Repaired the ears on my daughter's very old Ted, efficiently, perfectly, and without fuss. My daughter is very happy. I would recommend Bear Essentials.

Had my 70 year old toy dog repaired, he had a bad leg and practically no fur. He has been beautifully mended and looks wonderful now while he still retains his old style looks. Thank you Bear Essentials for an excellent job.

A wonderful way to spend time with your family in a lovely warm, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The whole experience was fun from the beginning we arrived, every member of our family enjoyed creating a new little teddy bear or little wildlife animal. This is something our children will remember for years as we created new members of the family as we sat around telling Halloween stories and of times past.

We booked in here to do three activities. Hoover crafts buggies and Clay's. We had good fun and the staff were good fun and very helpful. However if you want to race, it's not here. Timed laps were the best. Could not pass on the buggies or hoover craft. Of you are looking for a hen night or stag, you will have a good time

Great variety of activities and excellent location beside a lake. On the downside, rules are quite restrictive: max two overcrafts keeping safe distance and no overtaking with buggies. No One-4-all gift vouchers accepted and pay in full in advance if using credit card.

Really good fun. Buggy racing and hovercrafts are both really unique, could smash around in the buggies all day if it weren't for shoulders falling off

I had a brilliant time here. good for stags and hens party if your in to adrenaline it's two hours drive from Dublin.

I'm slowly but steadily working my way through "The Irish Pub" list and am glad to report that Gartlan's is another cracker. It's a great example of the old-school grocer\pub combo and has retained its authentic aesthetic in spite of a recent change in ownership. It's only open Thursday - Sunday and is looked after by big Conan who pours great pints of Guinness and plays a mean banjo! It attracts a friendly crowd and the craic is in good supply - I'll be back...

Gartlan’s is such a Cavan gem. Sheila allowed us to organise an event in her incredible pub and I can’t express how special this place is, with so much history and quirky charm. The live music was superb. An exceptional pint of Guinness, too ;) !! Thanks again Sheila for everything, we really hope to return soon 🖤

This is an authentic pub, where the decor and atmosphere immerse you in local Irish life. For more fun, there are live concerts on Sunday evenings. Make sure you eat beforehand, as there are no meals on the premises.

Great atmosphere. Really friendly customers and staff. Only sorry we missed the Thursday traditional music night.

Beautifully restored with all the charm of the original. The owner has such extensive knowledge and quite an obvious pride in Irish pubs.

Great personable service. You can feel the history inside the bar and the owners have done a fantastic job in maintaining it's charm. Owner is so knowledgeable about everything to do with Irish Pubs and their history. Even told us about Sean's Bar which is the oldest bar in Europe(if I heard correctly 😅) so now on the list for the future. 🤞🏽🤞🏽

Brilliant old pub brought back to life. Bar staff/owners so friendly and welcoming as was everyone else. The pub has kept all it's old features with so much to look at. Absolutely loved it and look forward to getting there again. Would 100% recommended!

Lovely Place for a Walk and great spot for fishing. The lakes are beautiful. There is a Map to guide you with activities that can be done. Also There was a refreshment center but it was closed on my visit day.

Relaxing visit. Dog friendly with plenty of amenities (sauna, jacuzzis, fireplace on a deck, fishing excursions, hiking, walks, cycling). Also, the cabins at cabu are all you need. Staff are friendly as well.

Beautiful place. Perfect for long walks, hiking, biking or fishing. Great for birdwatching. Peaceful little corner with lots of trails to walk and plenty lakes.

Stunning views. Fabulous walking and cycling trail. Canoes, rowing boats to hire. Popular for fishing. Picnic areas and seating strategically placed for a rest and to take in nature at it's best. So fortunate to have this on my doorstep. The Blue Dragonflies were amazing to see.

Great place to enjoy nature with people often going for dog walks, cycling, kayaking, and even building little shelters out of branches amidst the trees. People are few and far between so you’re free to explore in peace.

Enjoyable casual place to go for a pint and relax with familly and friends, nice for watching sport and they have a projector for a larger screen. Kind and knowledgeable staff, would recommend.

Decent pub with friendly civilised people. Tourists and strangers will always get a good welcome here. There's usually a blues or rock band on Saturday night.....

I went to a fabulous classical concert here with Celine Byrne as the headline. The acoustics were magical. The choir was made up of members from many different local choirs of a mixture of age groups and really added to the sound.

Beautiful place to visit, 150yrs St Patrick's college. Great music. Worth a visit.

We didn’t do a lot of sightseeing in Cavan, but one building caught our eyes as soon as we drove past and a couple of days later we decided to stop and have a look inside: Cavan cathedral, or the Cathedral of Saint Patrick and Saint Felim, lies in Cavan and is hard to miss. It’s a beautiful sight which drew me and my friends in. Stairs lead up to it and the inside is truly worth a look. Inside are 18 beautiful marble columns, which were made in Carara, Northern Italy, and a complete set of Harvey S. Clarke stained glass windows.

Attended a funeral there lately and couldn't hear a word said from priest or family. The Amplification is just awful. But a nice Cathedral otherwise.

I generally go to 8.30am mass every Sunday, which I enjoy doing.

Regret and Hope. When superb shows like these are performed by local amateur actors it is only fitting that due credit is attributed to all concerned. These were original one act plays written by local writers and superbly performed by local amateur group - The Virginians. It is not often that a show elicits a spontaneous full house standing ovation, but last night the prolonged standing ovation was richly deserved. The 2 One Act plays were cleverly separated by a most enjoyable musical interlude , again performed by 2 very talented local artists. Well done Ramor Theatre. Keep up the amazing good work.

Myself and a group of friends went to the Ramor Theater last week to see the writer Michael Harding it was a wonderful show in a very intimate setting. Well done to all who run and organise the events myself and my friends will definitely visit again soon

Went there to see "Funny Money" & cried tears of laughter the whole way through. Lovely little theatre. Good views from every seat, good sound & tea, coffee etc at intervals. Highly recommended.

Great little theatre. Good for plays, music and film. Has a tiny coffee lounge with original artwork. Developed from an old church with some original fittings retained. On street parking.

Busy place on weekend. Mostly for kids till 7-8 years. Big area with slides, a lot of toys for 2-5 years kids. What I dislike: old carpet, tables for guests was dirty and no one collect dishes from them.

Great fun to bring the kids here. Let them loose in the play areas and we sit back and watch the fun. We has a good size portion of sausages and chips with curry for the kids. All in all a great way to spend a few hours at the weekend.

I have one boy 1 year 7 months and a girl 3 years 7 months. Pretty big baby area and the kids had lots of fun. Strongly recommend and definitely will go back again ❤️

There was a mouse outside the baby play area. It seemed to be a known issue however no warning was given upon entry. Partner seen it running back and forth while our child was playing in the play area. We were given a refund of our entry fee.

Absolutely fantastic place for kids. Party place as its best. I'm taking away 2 stars because price list is not updated on home page.

Really great time here with our 1 yr old. There was plenty for him to do and it was a lovely way to spend a few hours. We had coffee/ cake and chips it was all decent enough. I would certainly go back. All the staff were very friendly and efficient.

I took a few days for a much needed break to go back to Jampa Ling. It had been a good many years since I had been there and I had almost forgotten the serenity that is palpable even as you enter the beautiful long tree lined driveway. I received a most open hearted welcome and managed to relax, rest and restore myself in the short few days. I joined the beautiful meditations guided by Lobsang, Desmond and Richard whenever I could. Zero pressure to do/be anything other than just be my exhausted self. I stayed in the hostel to the side of Tara house which is very cosy with underfloor heating. After three days I left nourished, rested, and connected to my meditation practice in a deeper way once again. I am so grateful to everyone not least of all the lovely volunteers Franziska, Yuiko and Felix. All the years of meditation and prayerful intentions ring out in this most beautiful serene place. So much gratitude, Donna

I recently stayed for a 3 nights, i found the staff helpful and friendly. The volunteers were lovely too. You can walk into jampa ling and feel at home. You meet likeminded open people. There are 3 meditation periods a day which is brilliant. The lake was lovely to swim in and the views were amazing. The accommodation was fresh and clean, at a good cost. If you need somewere to reconnect , slow things down, learn about sone of the buddist meditations, rituals this is the place for you, it is simple, pure. And the little dog captured my heart. Again the staff were helpful and make you feel at home, i felt safe and met some wonderful people.

I was in Jampa ling a few months ago for me it was a magical place. I had trouble sleeping at the time, every night there I slept so well.It is a peacefull place. Desmond is a very nice person also Lap Sung thank you

Jampa ling is a place of warmth, welcoming, peace, rejuvinating. Ive been coming on an off for about 10 years, i come alone and with friends. Its like home from home. You're treated as part of the community. Its a wonderful place to stay, either on your own doing a solo retreat or to join one of jamplings retreats. I done both throughout the years. They now have a new log cabin in which i am one of the first to stay here. Lucky me. Some short nature walks, and a short wood walk. Mediation room to use for silent meditations. A common area to meet and eat with others or do some work or reading. Im very glad i can come here to reset every so often. Lobsang is wonderful. All the staff and very helpful. Thank you 🌟

Stayed here 3 times before. Loved it. It's a peaceful place, welcoming, delicious and nourishing vegetarian meals and always met some lovely people who stayed here. Bedroom and bathroom was always clean. I would recommend helping out with whatever you can too. I will be back again.
