I had an unforgettable visit to Miniature Wunderland in Hamburg last weekend! This place offers a truly unique experience with meticulously detailed miniatures representing various cities worldwide, predominantly European ones. The highlight for me was the intricate train networks and the miniature airport with planes taking off and landing. It was a bit crowded, but the 20 euro adult ticket was worth every penny. The presence of miniature shops, a food court, and restroom facilities made the visit even more convenient. Miniature Wunderland is a must-see attraction for anyone in Hamburg!

Super cool! you could spend the whole day here and still not have seen everything. The staff are very friendly and the bistro is a nice place to rest. You can tell a lot of hard work and creativity went into the design of all the exhibits and there are hidden gems everywhere, including trains running right below your feet!

This place is truly a marvel, even if you're not a model making fan. All the models are crafted with exceptional detail and they're full of buttons for the whole visiting experience to turn from passive to interactive at will. On the other side, the place feels very touristy, with souvenir shops packed with unrelated stuff, and a "restaurant" too. Too much people can ruin your experience, and a Saturday evening would not be the perfect day to be there.

Just wow !!! It's an amazing museum. So much to see and be amazed. We spent around 4 hours seeing all the models. The best was the airport and airplane model. It's wonderful place to get kids and even the old ones enjoy the museum. There are many different models. Buying tickets in advance is highly recommended. There is a restaurant as well in the museum. Breakfast and lunch options were good. I recommend booking tickets for the morning slot so that you have enough time to explore the whole museum.

Spent 3,5 hours in the museum and planning to go again. Super interesting, there are many cute and funny episodes. At the evening there were very many people. Highly recommend to take a camera with good zoom.

Parking is very restrictive in this area so you are better parking away and walking to the place. The cafe served really nice food and all the staff were polite. The models themselves were very impressive especially with how they interlink. The railway control room is also very impressive.

Cost 20.50 for an adult ticket. A great place to spend a couple of hours. Be amazed by the displays. There is a simulation of day and night views of all the displays. The airport seems to be the most popular. I had a wonderful visit. There is a canteen within the museum. So one can rest and have a bite before continuing.

I’d recommend getting the tickets beforehand because the place gets crowded. It has interesting exhibitions already but they’ll add more soon and I bet it’ll be just as great. I had high expectations. Thought the models would be larger. They are h0 scale, so 1:87 The models and figures are mind blowing. The detailed models of structures and landscapes around the world are magnificent. By gazing at the tremendous level of detail one gets a true sense of the scale of human activity on earth. The scale and vastness of our environmental impact. One could spend all day there. Amazzzing. Will definitely go back.

Absolutely astonishing, there’s a million adjectives I could say about this place and I can’t seem to find a word for this masterpiece. The first sections were gorgeous the rooms are air-conditioned and that but also the details of every single man in the huge miniature model of Hamburg,Switzerland,Austria and the alps is living. I can visually guess that about 89 percent of all models is movable. Every aspect of the model including underground and above in the sky is shown in full detail. The posters for example are always made in local languages going with the theme. The most outstanding part for me was the airport (since I am a huge avgeek myself) the details as I can see is stringent to a almost horrible level. The airplanes are just so lively as if they were real. Almost every model plane can taxi by itself and a lot of them can even takeoff and land by them self even with features such as gear-tilt included. There’s also the airbus beluga, Junker 52, Boeing 777-300 ER etc. I would say that the this place is really really really worth your visit because you can feel the heart of the builders, you can feel that they build for the fun, not for the money! Please, if you every happened to read this. Go to Hamburg and visit this place. Bucket-list worthy!

Every time I am in Hamburg I visit this place, and it never fails to impress me. There are always some new details I get go notice, or completely new set-ups to explore (like South America this time, Monaco is now work in progress). Make sure to buy the ticket in advance and there is almost no waiting time. Also, make sure to devote enough time, as you can easily spend here whole day! ✨

Great museum! We spent over 5 hours on our visit, and it felt short. The model trains, cars, boats, and airplanes are all fantastic, and the attention to detail is second to none. All the little easter eggs are fun to find! Highly recommend!

It’s beautiful, it’s mesmerizing, you’d have to spend at least two full days there to discover most of the little details. I’ve been here at least 8 times, and I keep finding new things every single time. However, the place is always completely filled with people, no matter what day it is. I HIGHLY recommend purchasing your tickets online at least one week before, to have a chance at getting in at a normal time. Unless of course you want to stand in a queue for 5 hours, not gonna judge that.

Amazing 🤩 has been on my bucket list for many many years, I did 2 back stage tours. In total I spent about 10 hours here! And I'm sure there were lots of little details I still didn't see. The food in the diner is very reasonably priced and is large servings! Overall very satisfied. This place is amazing.

Such an AMAZING place! They even had a control center. Was so mesmerized by the amount of detail they put in all the cities. The airport with all the planes taking off and everything else happening there made it feel like it was connected to a real airport. The historic dioramas were really interesting too - being able to see how things changed over time. Definitely had a great time here and will be back again next time.

We went here as a family and had a very enjoyable time. I recommend you schedule a whole day here. We spent 5 hours here. There are plenty of different countries on view including Germany,Italy, America and Switzerland. If you look closely there are many hidden jokes like the millennium falcon at the airport and Batman and Robin scaling one of the buildings. We also did the virtual reality part of the tour which was amazing. You can also have a 3D picture taken which you can have as a plastic figure. Loved it.

Incredible place with extremely detailed models. The are some awesome experiences there too, like shrink into wonderland were you where a VR headset and you can pretend your in the models. There is a cafeteria with decent food especially for a museum. The gift shop is quite nice and reasonably priced. I would recommend buying tickets in advance as buying at the museum can take awhile, it is conveniently located in the center of Hamburg. The airport and trains are just beautiful, if you took a zoomed in picture someone would have no idea it was a model. Even the hall between sections has some lovely miniature landscapes, and a great view.

Completely, totally and utterly brilliant in every way. Spent over 6 hours there and only saw one of the two main floors. Exceptionally good value. Excellent proper food in the bistro - lots of seats and sockets to recharge phones etc. Again, great value. All facilities excellent. The whole place is just superb - can't fault it in any way. Best to book ahead - and try to go as early as possible.

Great experience!! Wish we had known how big and nice it was, we would have given ourselves more time. We arrive 23:30, since those were the only tickets available. Pls book well in advance to get a better time! Even at 23:30 it was still amazing. Just wish we had more time, there was so much to see and do. They had buttons for many of the things where something would happen. Also the light changes in intervals from daylight to nighttime and some of the buttons only work in nighttime. Super cool! If ever we’re in Hamburg again, we would definitely go for either half a day or the whole day.

They were tastefully done displays that were pleasing to all. I could spend hours here because of the incredibly lifelike figures and activities. Before returning to the exhibit, you can rest your feet and take a break at one of the restaurants. Strongly advised.

This was our first time visiting Miniature wonderland, and it was fantastic. A little world in itself, we stayed almost a full day .we had a good lunch there. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We are going back soon.

Fabulous place to visit! Image a warehouse FULL of train sets, over multiple floors and now add cars, trucks, planes, not only trains. Amazing! There’s a “night time” every 15 minutes or so where all the lights go down it looks stunning. The level of detail here is unreal, so many hours have gone into creating this. The gift shop is also very good, which is a nice change from most tourist attractions.

A must see when in Hamburg, completely worth it. I recommend you buy tickets 2 days in advance to avoid the waiting queue which can be even 2h long. It was kind of crowded however we managed to go trough it all, make sure you grab a map at the entrance. They have a setup where it turns to "night time" and some of the exhibits look better during that short time window. The airport exhibit was my favorite so pay attention to the landing and take off screen if you are looking for a particular model to see it in action. Make sure to visit the souvenir shop before you exit as they always have discounts on models. The entire visit may take arround 3h, even more.

Miniature Wonderland is great, wide space with many miniatures - people, situations (like concerts), airplanes, trains, city, Hamburg areas and many others. For kids and adults. Amazing attention to details. Must see point during visiting Hamburg.

The place was quite huge and so detail! Great place to go for diorama fans & those with children, you could truly spend hours here. My family and I spent about 4 hours, including shopping time. The only flaw was it was charged €0.50 for cloakroom per item (we didn’t use this) and there were no info about the locker room which was free. But overall was enjoyable and could be considered when you plan to visit Hamburg.

Nice place to get a good view of the harbour, very close to the Elbtunnel. Go there when the weather is clear.

The highlight of this trip is not the viewpoint but the tunnel itself. The viewpoint to Elbe tiver has great scenery though. This reminds me to Bosphorus in Istanbul, similar view but Elbe river connected to the port which have more bigger ships and cruises. I think the port is the one connected to Stavanger and Bergen.

Is an interesting visit, after the tunel you have the view from the other side of the Elbe river. I recomend doing it during spring or summer though. It can be quite windy

What a great view of the city. It's next to the exit of the Elben tunnel. You can have a baverage or snack from one of the two sellers here. Being there with my friend during last Eastern. We've met local fellow here and we chat a little about living in this city. It was definitely the best piece of the Hamburg taste.

Or was a unique experience walking 450meters under the sea level in the tunnel originally constructed in 1911😍. Going up and down in such huge lifts is cool😇. The view of the port on Elbe on the other side of the tunnel is just wow. 😘

We visited the church after the observation deck but almost as an afterthought. We didn't go into the crypts sadly but the church was superb. It is relatively modern (just over a hundred years old) and the inside is bright and airy. We spent about twenty minutes listening to the organ recitals and it was lovely to see a church that is actually in use, rather than being just a museum. The crypts were €6 or an extra €2 if you do the tower trip.

Of all the churches we visited when in Germany (at least 10), this one tended to have much more ambient noise. Not sure if it's because of the number of people or the type of ceilings (that reflected sound), but the interior was pleasant. The tower is a decent climb, though there is a elevator if one so chooses. It can be very windy up top, so hold on to your hats or other loose clothing. There are a few good photo spots - so walk around to find your favorite.

Just wonderful. It was built in late 1800s and it took 11 years to build it. The tower is 112 meters tall, so you can see the tower in every point of the city. There are 20 scrulptures pf the kings. Furthermore, there is a fountain inner courtyard. If you don't see this building in Hamburg, never say that you visited Hamburg.

Step back two hundred years to the grandeur of Hamburg, the preferred port for international trade and financial hub of Europe. This was the seat of parliament for the independent state of Hamburg where international banking was centered. Great sites, food carts and restaurants and high end shopping for the Louie Vuitton fans.

I loved this building. The square is big and welcoming and the building has a free entrance to an exhibition and do not miss going to the inner courtyard, where there is a very beautiful fountain. The building is very beautiful with so much details.

Really interesting and informative. The history of Hamburg and the town hall are explained on the guided tour. Like so many palaces of recent centuries that we have seen elsewhere, the extravagance was obscene, where much of the population would have been living in poverty. Incredible building, sculptures, artworks and décor abound. The Australian flavour added in 1897 was very unexpected. Well worth a look.

I visited the Townhall upon many recommendations as a great tourist spot and I was not disappointed at all. The area outside the hall is filled with a lot of shops where you can buy souvenirs and things to remember the place with. Within the hall are beautiful edifices for your viewing pleasure and all looking very picturesque. I’ll definitely recommend!👍🏾

Definitely a must to see!!! Iconic Hamburg city hall architecturally brilliant, emotionally poetic, like a fairytale palace. Definitely recommended to see from every angle and definitely walk inside or find to do something inside. There’s a square in front of it that you can find every thing or whatever you’re looking for. I felt in here like Liverpool I don’t know why it remembers me.

This is not a normal park! This is heaven in my opinion. I can bet that you won’t get tired while walking through this iconic park. Each part of the park hast its own beauty. So try to see everything once you get there. Unfortunately due to energy saving the musical fountain does not work but still it has a lot place which makes it pleasant to visit it. A really beautiful park in the middle of Hamburg. You can see a lot of nature surrounded by tall buildings. It reminded me of Central Park in New York, US. I stayed there for hours and still did not see everything. I visit during the spring, so a lot of different and colorful flowers could be seen. I really recommend the visit to this park.

Absolutely magical garden where you can really rest especially when temperatures run higher. Plenty of old trees, beautiful flowers and water birds. There is possibility to by drinks and snacks in small cafeterias located in the garden. They are running wonderful multimedia show each evening after sunset where colourfully lit water is dancing to the rythm of classical music! Strongly recommended place!

Beautiful and cozy place for a visit on a nice spring or summer day. A place for a picnic, just some relaxation, to visit and look at the flowers or to do some games. There are some watergames available to do for both kids and adults. Restaurant available and also public toilets for a fee of €0,80.

Wonderful park! I love that you can walk from Stephansplatz up to Landungsbrücken. In summer it is best because all of the cafes are open.

Lovely place with you guessed it... plants and flowers. Just a serene place for a walk. Highly recommend for any tourists who have 2 - 3 hours to kill. The water sports area with balloons is fun for kids, there are areas to sit down and have a nice coffee/ice cream on a hot sunny day. For me I was solo on the day so went to jungfersteig which was a 10 min bus ride away for an icecream by the lake.

We arrived just when the Japanese garden was at its peak. It was absolutely beautiful. The park is very large and free admission. Very well maintained with lots of water features, themed gardens, and many chairs and green space to sit and relax. Also a wonderful place to go for a run, if go early, you will have it all to yourselves.

The plant and flower park of Planen un Blomen in Germany is simply stunning! With so much greenery, trees, and water, it's like paradise on earth. There are toilets and even a bar so you can refresh yourself. And let's not forget the benches and chairs scattered throughout the park, perfect for relaxing and enjoying all this natural beauty. If you're looking for a peaceful and beautiful place, this is it!

Beautiful huge park for every age. Many places to go for a picnic. I would suggest for people to go there in Summer (Juni, July, August) for every flower to be blossomed.

A wonderful urban park, developed as the medieval city fortifications were taken down. Now, an ample area for stress relaxation in a big city. Trees, ponds and cascades are arranged aesthetically and harmoniously. Also a Japanese garden was planted.

First visit for nearly 51 years. Played in a concert there on this stage in 1973 with the National Youth Orchestra of Wales. It is as beautiful as ever.

It is an amazing building full of architecture, imagination, vision, hard work, and engineering. Inside and out is amazing. The view is spectacular. Inside is like something completely modern, futuristic, I felt like if I was in a Big Space Chip. The Sound OMG! BREATHTAKING!

In the historic and famous harbour area of the Hamburg, this building offers unique look to the visitors sailing in the river and watching from decks and more from its 8 th floor viewing galleries. Overlooking the harbour from west and south sides, you will have breathtaking views of the shining waters and the boats. The north and east sides give the city’s century old buildings still standing strong and the canals. The central hall has curved crafted glass doors which are very unique. We visited it on when the harbour was celebrating its hundred years. It has a clean WC in the 7th floor.

A work of art to see the architecture is very beautiful. If you you drive directly to the Elbphilharmonie and from the water you have an unobstructed view, It's a good thing that visiting the plaza is free. But not inside.

You can visit the building for free, you just need to go to one of the offices outside to get a free entrance ticket. The building's architecture is amazing and you have a great view over Hamburg and its harbour. There is also the possibility to drink and eat and have a great panoramic view. Be aware that it is a very crowded place with hundreds of people visiting it in the same time. Enjoy!

Beautiful architecture. A must visit place in Hamburg. Do take tickets downstairs it's for free (atleast for now) and go up with escalators. One of the coolest escalators I saw. Nice view of ships and jetty from the top. The top view of churches adds to the beautiful view from here. Have a coffee and enjoy the scenery. PS: The tickets to see concert hall are different.

Since I saw a documentary few years ago on this building and how was great engineering involved to build it up, it was on my “must visit” list. So, it was natural that I visited it first thing when I went to Hamburg. There is a ticket counter where you can get free tickets to get to the terrace of this building. It’s kind of building that you have to see in person to admire it. If you visit it plz see the documentary on how it was built to respect the effects that went into building it. It’s a great landmark that makes Hamburg proud.

A must see if you visit Hamburg. Its nice to look at from the outside, but also the inside has much to offer. The escalator is a masterpiece, the platform for public visit is beautiful and the hotel rooms, the Hotel itself and the concert hall are all a architectural masterpiece as well.

It has a great view and great acoustics. When you go up to the terrace, Hamburg is at your feet. It is almost the meeting point of the rivers coming from all over the city. You can also see the liveliness of the port and shipyard around.

When in Hamburg the Elbphilarmonie is a major highlight. Firstly because of the extraordinary architecture of the building, set on an island of the river in an area of recovered storage houses and port infrastructure. Then the concert hall itself, a marvel of acoustics. The stage is surrounded by public so it's possible to see the orchestra from all points of view. All the seats have great visibility of the stage.

You need to get a ticket to go on the curved escalator but it’s for free. I liked this place and the view from the balcony. They have a souvenir shop with some nice gadgets. The surrounding area is pretty calm as well.

I flew here from Belgium to hear Joshua Bell perform the Tchaikovsky violin concerto and Mahler symphony 5. It's a concert-going experience that I've never expected to have in my life. The building is magnificent both inside and outside. The view from the plaza makes it very worth it to arrive one hour early just to enjoy all the lights of the city & harbour as well as the calming sight of the water. The acoustic of the grand hall makes me feel like my previous classical concerts were a bit... muddled? Every sound in the hall was clear, I think it definitely amplified the performance perfectly. Joshua was... a beast. Since every sound can be heard so clearly I truly admire how he was able to articulate the music so beautifully and accurately from the beginning to the end. I'm glad I travelled a long way for this live classical music experience...

One of the iconic and uniquely styled Building in Hamburg. We just visited the viewing deck/floor. While you are expected to buy a ticket but you don't pay anything. The view is good, you can spend maybe 20-30 mins here. Nothing great apart from that.

A must visit place in Hamburg, and I would suggest you take a guided tour. Unfortunately we weren't allowed to take pictures in most of the areas due to their policies however it is completely worth it. The amount of attention to the architectural details, the aesthetic, the sound engineering that went into this building is simply astonishing. We were a group of 20+and the guide was more than helpful and accommodating, however be prepared for a lot of walking and stairs 😅 The views you can see from the inside are amazing, even though the weather was not friendly during our visit.

Great Hall with excellent acoustics. Best for music that needs no or little amplification. The plaza, which can be visited separately for a small fee is also highly recommended. Went there for the Hafengeburtstag and had an excellent view of the fireworks.

A fabulous handsomely styled construction sitting proudly on the harbourside. Positioned perfectly. Great to explore the place and look at the expansive views. And great for kids to run around also. They also have a great cafe and do a fabulous cup of hot chocolate.

Unique building the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, must see when you are there. The windows are not the same as the others. We have to get the ticket at the entrance to go in and visit, but we don't have to pay for it, so it's still free.

I really enjoyed the experience. If you're passionate about reptiles and all sorts of fish, then you're in for a treat. You'll even find the Goliath birdeater (although he was hidden and I couldn't find it) Lots of families with small kids too, lots of young and old couples alike. Totally recommend it

Very nice experience with a mix of large aquaria, reptile terraria and more! Great place for kids to learn about reefs, fish and snakes. Does not have much besides fish, like squids or other sea creatures.

A very nice tropical aquarium. Although there are not that many different species, the enclosures are very nicely furnished. We particularly liked the cinema-like seating area overlooking the large glass pane of a large pool. I hadn't seen that in any zoo before and it was very impressive.

Great place to visit with the kids, they absolutely loved it! Much better than Berlin one. Been there on a Friday, wasn’t crowded at all.

Visited the aquarium here. They provide free lockers to store your things in and have a range of animals that you can interact lively with as well as a large tank. The atmosphere is beautiful and during the weekdays it is not busy at all. Would definitely come back!

Good zoo, animals clearly well looked after. Polite staff and good facilities. Close to the train station so it’s easy to access from all over Hamburg. We went on a quiet day, had the takeaway cafe, basic food but it was welcomed as it was a very cold day, tasted great.

Definitely worth visiting this place specially as a family ! Just try it out! On the weekends it can be very crowded so I recommend to visit during the week!

This was part of our visit to the zoo we decided to buy tickets for the aquarium aswell without much expectation but we were surprised by how much fun we had. It's got a large outdoor area with birds and other animals before you go down to the aquarium which is very much educational and great for kids. The ending was the winner with a huge cinema style glass with numerous different breeds of fish and other sea animals. All in all a great visit and lots of fun to be had by all.

I went on a rather cold, rainy day but despite that it was a nice experience. There weren't many people around and no Kiosk was open because it's low season. The animals seem well taken care of;some In hibernation, relaxing,being fed and having a good ol' time . The Jurassic Park area is a thoughtful addition to the other animal enclosures..it invokes thoughts of adventure and what-ifs. The Arctic 🐻‍❄️ area was good though the Polar bears were not relatively close enough to see them but far enough to enjoy the scenery. Definitely a must see. It takes just about 2hours to go round the animal zoo. 🤝

Visiting Hagenbeck's Tierpark was an absolute delight! The variety of animals from around the world is impressive, and the habitats are well-designed to mimic their natural environments. It’s so amazing to see some animals up so close (right from penguin to walrus to Polar bears). The park is beautifully landscaped, making it a pleasant stroll for all ages. I highly recommend a visit to Hagenbeck's Tierpark for a memorable day surrounded by fascinating wildlife!

The first 1/3 of the trip was reptiles/insects/tropical animals and the like. Not really fish- related. Once the actual "under water" experience started, it was quite nice, huge windows, fish had lots of space to swim around. Last part is amazing. Downside is that it was quite short. If you are not interested in the non-fish"part, then the tour might take 30 min.

Went in March to the aquarium section, warm inside, more than just fish. They had bats too!!

It has to be given that it is an interesting tourism hotspot, however decaying very fast. Homeless people and trash are all over the place.

Great place to go out, even during weekdays. At night, the atmosphere can be a bit tense with big crowds and drunk people. There's lots of variety in bars, food and live music, ensuring there is something for everyone.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon. It probably has a lot to offer at night time but during the day it looks tired and sad. Homeless people on streets. Spaced out drunks and druggies staggering around. There's some dodgy characters around here, caution required.It's seedy but not in a friendly kinda way. If you wanted a good time you can find it. I found one good bar called Zwick at the top of Reeperbahn and that was a good bar with great sounds and ambience. I'm sure there's a lot more good bars but my time was short and I'd seen enough. Worth a visit just to say you have been there.

Party street, lots of bars, clubs, strippers etc perfect place for bacherlor/ette parties or just someone that loves to party 🙌 Head to the Fischmarkt from 5am for breakfast and more tunes 👌🏼

Awesome place for tourists

It's ok, not what I would call a tourist attraction as when we went on a Sunday it was mostly closed and lot and lots of homeless people about, don't get me wrong they were no trouble but it's uncomfortable facing these poor souls

I arrived Friday night. It was very fun entertaining experience. There were so many street food and kiosks and music. People got together and had beer, dancing and waiting for sunset.

Pretty cool location and sort of a must-see for tourists. On the one side one can see the lovely Elbphilharmonie, as well as some of the classic boats like the Cap San Diego and on the other side are the musical areas as well as the industrial harbor. And just behind, towards the city center there is the wonderful Portuguese quarter, with fantastic Portuguese, Spanish and Brazilian restaurants.

The Sam Paoli Pier in Hamburg is worth a visit because of its unique atmosphere, which combines historical heritage, cultural diversity and a modern spirit. Here you can enjoy beautiful views of the harbour and the city, taste the local cuisine and visit museums and exhibitions. The pier is also one of the most popular tourist spots in Hamburg, where there are always plenty of interesting events and activities.

St. Pauli Piers Landungsbrucken in German is the central part of Hamburg harbor. It is the place where many tour boats (bigger and smaller) depart for a harbor cruise which I strongly recommend. It is also the place where you can descend down and walk the Elbe underground tunnel to the other side. Beside these, there's a nice modern walkway along the harbor leading to Speicherstadt (Warehouse district) and Elbephilharmonie. You pass many yachts, historic vessels and have great views of entire area. Several bar options along it to have a drink. Enjoy your time

Iconic place to visit in Hamburg. It is the city's red light district. It can feel a bit sketchy if you go into the smaller streets, but the main street had a lot of fun bars and food trucks to have a drink outside.

It is a beautiful place near Elbe river. There are a lot of ships and boat which you can take from here to other points of the city. If you have HVV ticket you can take a ship from here for free. I strongly recommend you to do that. Here I upload a video which i took while I was in the ship which I mentioned. I also recommend to be there in the evening to see the beauty of sunset!

The greatest natural resource in Hamburg! The 4.5 mile walk around the lake is as lovely as any of the many city lakes I have visited. Clearly a host of recreational and dining opportunities; however, the residential architecture surrounding the lake is also quite spectacular. Most impressive is the protective shoreline habitats created for waterfoul; particularly the famous lake swans! Well done, Hamburg!

Took a paddle boat trip in Alster lake, very enjoyable trip, 1 hour for 22 eur, the boat can fit 4 grown-ups easily, the weather was very nice, we had an amazing time, I recommend anyone coming to Hamburg to try it!

Alster Lake one of the sight seeing in hamburg , its give life to the place , its in the center of hamburg , it give you felling of relaxation , peace , i walk around the lake , see swans and light of the city , boats , the boat trip takes aorund 1 hour , its gorgeous ... Recomended

First time in Germany I like so much. Alster lakes is very beautiful please to visit it was safe at the night too.

An impressive exhibit. It was very well laid out, but be ready to take your time and walk a bit. There are both German and English translation interpretive signs through most of the building. They had so many beautiful maritime paintings throughout the museum. They also have a small kids area on one floor. However, kids under 5 would have a difficult time staying interested for long.

It was very exciting to visit a museum with many works related to Germany's maritime history. We visited the museum by going down from the top floor and as we were leaving, I felt my feet hurting. The squeaking sounds as you walk around the wooden floors of the museum building take you on a mysterious journey in maritime history. I think it is a museum that everyone, especially those who love maritime, should see.

Museum has incredible selection of pieces about maritime history across 9 floors. Starting from 50000 (!!) ship models to different navigation devices. As someone who’s passionate about ships, I’ve spent 3 hours in the museum and wished I had more time to explore. Highly recommend for all ages.

Marvelous museum with tons of stuff for people interested in the maritime world. I was a little overwhelmed by the 9 (!) large floors of exhibits. Please eat and drink and strengthen yourself before you come or you'll burn out quickly. 😀 Well done, gorgeous historic building, which justifies in my opinion the 15 EUR entry fee.

Honestly, this wasn't really my cup of tea. It is, however, a great museum for those who are interested (such as my partner, who loved it). There's a lot of models, miniatures, paintings and so much more. You can spend hours inside as it has 9 levels to explore. The building itself is beautiful as well. Staff is friendly and there's a rather big souvenir shop and a place to eat, as well.

If you like boats, you'll love it. If you don't like boats, you'll still he fascinated by the complexities of maritime history. The museum is well set out and has English descriptions. There are stairs and lifts to see the exhibits on each floor. You can easily spend 3 hours taking it in. There is both a gift shop and a cafe in the reception.

One of the best museums ever visited. Ideal for those who appreciate the evolution of a technology from early ages to the modern day. Goes without saying how the past world wars have had a huge push in these innovations and developments. The museum has more than 7 floors of all interesting showcases, need to budget enough time to visit.

I never thought I’d spend most of the day here, and I wanted to leave on a number of different occasions, but the models kept me there. There must be 1,000s of models of all different sizes. I’d get sick of seeing them and want to leave, then I’d see another one that kept me there. It was like a love hate relationship. The meticulous workmanship on such a grand and tiny scale is amazing. There was also quite a bit of learning from the different display, but it was the models for me.

I’m not a big fan of ships, but this museum is just amazing! It has 9 levels of exhibition, so you can spend here the whole day 🙌🏻 moreover, it is allowed to go outside and come back within one day without extra fee! Would love to visit it it again. P.S. the lady that checked our tickets was so nice and explained a lot about this museum 😅 if you’ll be there definitely talk to her too

A detailed museum covering the nautical history of Hamburg and the United German states. Particularly recommended for those interested in the subject matter, but still plenty to see for those new to the topic. Concise and with information in English. The museum is quite large and worth the price of admission. Can get discounts through the hamburg card

I had an amazing time at the Maritime Museum in Hamburg! It was a delightful surprise with a vast collection of ship models. The staff was incredibly friendly, and I was pleasantly surprised to find discounted entrance in the afternoon. The only minor hiccup was that everything was in German, but it didn't diminish the overall experience. Would definitely recommend, A must-visit for maritime enthusiasts! ⚓🌊

Huge museum! Make sure you have good shoes on! This is how museums should be! Well designed,loads to see,huge variety of objects. Every floor brought new themes to explore. Definitely plan more than three hours for this must see museum. Staff were very friendly and helpful. As a British visitor was grateful for many information points written in English,but would have liked more. If you visit Hamburg this should definitely be on your to-do list!

Amazing museum with 9 floors. You can see a lot of exhibitions about navy and ships. A lot pf interesting ship models here and the last floor shows the collection of ship models which is so nice. The museum is bigger than I thought can take up to 4 hours to visit everything

This museum I visited yesterday and it was incredible experience because I really into maritime history especially WW1 and WW2 periods. The exibitions were well-curated with wide range of artifacts and different periods works of art. The displays were informative and making it east to learn and observe. There were some exhibitions with periodic marine uniforms, weapons and different variety of head gears especially interesting for me. The museum also had well-stocked gift shop with wide section of interesting maritime items. Overall this museum was excellent experience and I can highly recommend it to anyone interested in maritime history and development.

An astounding collection of all things maritime. All superbly displayed in a vast and atmospheric historic warehouse. The sheer scale and quality of the collection is breathtaking: there are tens of thousands of ship models - and that's on the 9th floor alone. I only got to see half of it because there was simply too much to take in. Absolutely magnificent.

If you like marine life, you should definitely see this museum. Interesting for kids, too. You should spare Minimum 2 hours for a decent visit.

An amazing experience. I really appreciate the world history element. Spent almost all the time I had in the first 2 plazas reading about maritime history from all over the world, and specially the European competition to "discover the route to India".

Amazing place from warship to cargo vessels. If your kids like ship, it is a “should visit” as they have a huge amount of ships model for your kids, they can tell you a lot of stories if they are really an expert. U-boot section is a MUST visit area for real gurus. Don’t miss the historic board which you can see the scale of the number of warships being built for WWII, you will be shocked by it.

This has to be the biggest museum I’ve ever been to. Yes, as everyone already mention it has nine floors and each one is so interesting. We went around 12 in the morning and the ticket costed 8€ each since it was closing after 2 hours so I would say that was definitely worth it and we did manage to go through all the floors with a ticket half the price. Beautiful exhibition and definitely a must visit!

It’s a fascinating place with 9 floors of history! You’ll pretty much everything about ships, submarines, sailing boats, cargo ships and so on (even pirates). From the building part to the commercial and modern uses they have nowadays. Plus, it offers you an inside to the story of Hamburg as one of the most important ports in Germany and in Europe. It will make you understand even the economics and how trading has changed the world. Book the tickets in advance and if you get the Hamburg card, even better. Make sure to plan a bit beforehand since you can easily spend 3+ hours visiting the different exhibitions. Also, the museum is kid friendly so there are tons of interactive stations for the little ones with games and playful activities.

Very nice place to sitting in front of lake. Light breeze come there, beautiful swams are there. Nice picturesque view.

Going down to the lakes you pass the most picturesque designer shops, cobblestone pebbled streets, a lovely music school, and lush green all over the surroundings

Alster Lake one of the sight seeing in hamburg , its give life to the place , its in the center of hamburg , it give you felling of relaxation , peace , i walk around the lake , see swans and light of the city , boats , the boat trip takes aorund 1 hour , its gorgeous ... Recomended

First time in Germany I like so much. Alster lakes is very beautiful please to visit it was safe at the night too.
