Great place to walk/relax/promenade. Awesome atmosphere.

It is about 7km of magic. Whenever I am Nice I have to walk this walk where I get to enjoy the Mediterranean sea, different people walking long locals, and visitors. Different generations from all walks of life, it feels like a small world. I am glad that the city of Nice didn't allow anything to be built between the beach and the promenade. Thank you Nice for having this spectacular space that can make you go on a journey.

Wonderful walking place, all the lenght of Nice. If you need to recharge your batteries, this is the right place to do it. It goes from the airport, all the way to the city center and the port of Nice. Nice view of it from Colinne du Chateau.

This is my everyday stroll. Beautiful, clean, and relaxing, with no one hassling you; you can just stroll peacefully. I would recommend going to Castle Hill too, on the mountain; the view is incredible. It’s a must-see while in Nice. There are different options if you’re not capable of taking the stairs. There is parking on top, and Uber, taxi, or a tram tour are available.

Lovely park in middle of Nice. Wonderful views of the whole city, the mountains and the ocean with a waterfall feature right below that you can walk up to. There were archaeological finds and history buffs would appreciate reading the placards. We didn’t explore much around the park though. Paths are wheelchair accessible, steep in some moments but completely manageable. There’s even a little cafe at the peak of the castle overlooking the city. It was a wonderful experience and I definitely recommend coming here a once in a life time experience.

Nice spot to see a wonderful view. Not far away from the waterfall and way to go up higher. Elevator was not in service today but even for those with lower mobility, steps can be taken a little at a time with spots to sit along the way. Check it out!

It's really amazing. It was difficult for me to reach the waterfalls, but I did it (I was completely tired because of travelling long hours). There is a huge park and restaurant where you can grab some drinks and food. The place was before a palace before destroyed in 1706 and transformed into a garden/parc.

Beautiful place with a fascinating view of old Nice . Beautiful nature, an impressive fountain. In an open air cafe on a hot day, you can sit and enjoy a glass of cool beer or ice cream and then again continue sightseeing of the historical sites or just stroll through the park. It is possible to walk down the stairs to the promenade through the picturesque greenery.

If you want great views of the coastline, this is a great place. Captures the city of Nice and the water in a stunning picture. Highly recommend. The elevator/lift is free to use, just walk inside off the street and follow the signs.

A must if you're in Nice on holiday. Many stunning views from different viewpoints and lovely waterfall. Place to have snacks & drinks on top but take note, cash only! Was really interesting walking up from the town side and coming down the hill on the sea side.

Beautiful beautiful must visit place in nice. Either go early morning or later in the afternoon to enjoy the best views of the city. The lift to the top is free but can easily get crowded otherwise there is always the option to walk up to the hill which will roughly take 20 mins. There is a beautiful waterfall and park on top. Everything is free for the public no tickets required

Would recommend visiting when you are in Nice. Beautiful views from the top of the hill. You can also see a waterfall. Very peaceful park. There is also a toilet at the top which costs €0.50. Rewarding if you bring a picnic and eat it at the top. Unfortunately the elevator was out of service when we visited but the walk up only took about 30-40 minutes at a slow pace.

Colline du Chateau is like a big hill with amazing views of the sea. You can walk up there and see old castle bits, waterfalls, and nice gardens. It's a cool place to relax, have a picnic, or just enjoy the beautiful sights. It's a peaceful spot away from the busy city where you can take it easy and enjoy the scenery.

Big hill near nice that will give you greay panoramic views over Nice and beyond. There a multiple views points to see each direction. There is also a bit of playground. It is a bit of a walk but you will be rewarded. There is an elevator which cuts off some of the or you can even drive to the top. There are toilets and food on top. However the toilet is 50 cents and food is usual prices.

Amazing view from this hill lead to the water fall. You can see the whole promenade from here and even nice airport you can watch the planes land and take off. The view looks amazing great at sunset and highly recommend. There is a lift you can take so you don't have to take the steps.

Unbelievable view on the Old City, the Old Port, the whole of Nice. Excellent playground. Free admission. You can climb the stairs from the side of the Old City, that is quite difficult. Or you may climb from Old Port if you prefer a more gentle path. An artificial waterfall, beautiful views, ancient, excavations, lifelong impressions....

Also known as Castle Hill, you have the option to walk up stairs, take a free elevator or apparently take a road train (for €12 I think, but I did not see or use this). There were amazing views, and a waterfall, as well as some architectural ruins to see. On the day I visited, there were some people dressed up for photos, some zumba near the cafe and some others doing yoga. It was a really hot day so I bought some water at the top (€2 a bottle which was not cheap but very cold!) The cafe also sold many other drinks and there were tables and chairs for patrons as well as areas with benches. It was very scenic and felt very relaxing, for me definitely worth the climb!

If you're looking for a stellar view of Nice, check out Colline du Château. This place is simply fantastic! It's a prime spot for a bird's-eye view of the city, and the best part is, it's free. Whether you fancy a climb or prefer a lift, they've got you covered. Plus, the spot is stroller and wheelchair friendly, so it's perfect for everyone. But that's not all. Once you're up there, there's a pretty garden to chill in and some shops where you can grab a bite or a drink. We decided to descend via the road, and it led us right back to the old town, Monument, a Giuseppe Garibaldi place, to be exact. All in all, a must-visit if you're in Nice. It's a five-star experience for me!

One of the best views over the city. Highly recommend to anyone who visits Niece. Keep in mind that stairs are quite steep. We went up there when it was 33C and it was rather exhausting but well wort the trip.

Amazing panoramic views of the whole city, very nice park and waterfall. The steps are a bit of a hike but apparently there is also a lift. A must see location in Nice and worth spending half a day here. There are 2 cafes at the top also.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this place if you are in Nice! You have several options to get up to the mountainside. There is a tram that can take you up; it will cost you about 12€, but it's worth it if you aren't capable of climbing the stairs. You can also drive up; there is parking up there, or you can simply take a taxi or Uber. I decided to take the stairs.

It’s free! There’s an elevator you can take up or take the stairs, driveway up/flat surface where you can travel by a cute trolley train. This is a family friendly park, it’s huge up at the top with several different playgrounds for kids of all ages from toddlers to middle school. Lot’s of open space, sitting areas, views, outdoor cafe that serves, beer wine, sandwiches, burgers, ice cream. Toilets are .50€ or 1.50€ on a credit card. Very relaxing open space

very beautiful, totally worth a visit. u can walk, take a tourist guide train or i even think an elevator but i would recommend walking. its not that far and the view is great even while walking and you miss a few beautiful things on the way there. the park is also really great and there are even public toilets even tho you have to pay a little bit. there’s a restaurant and you can buy ice cream and stuff like that. its a great place for children.

Very beautiful place and atmosphere. You should visit it, even though you need to climb a hundred stairs. It is worth it! The view must be photographed, because it is wonderful!

Colline du Château offers a wonderful viewpoint with panoramic vistas of the entire city of Nice. The climb to the top, though a bit steep, is rewarded with breathtaking scenery and a cascading waterfall along the way. After enjoying the views, you can descend on the other side of the mountain, perfect for a leisurely walk. At the hill's summit, you'll find two historic cemeteries to explore—one Jewish and the other Catholic—as well as two panoramic viewpoints offering stunning perspectives of Old Town and the port.

Although the history of this hill can be traced back to the 11th century, there are actually no eye-catching monuments and no historical ruins. The road sign up the hill indicates WC, but it is actually closed, which makes it very inconvenient for tourists. . The reason why it is known as the top tourist attraction in Nice is because, in fact, there is really nothing interesting to see in Nice. People who come here are looking at Nice Bay and Nice City from the observation deck. But for local residents, this is a good place for a walk, not a special scenic spot. The mountain is not high. You can climb up the mountain or take the elevator. There are several scenic spots on the way up the mountain with beautiful scenery and delicious food, so I think hiking is the better way.

Wonderful view point. You have to go all the way to the top on the stairs and see a wonderful panorama of the entire city. There is also a waterfall on the way. You can go back down on the other side of the mountain, it is a good place for a nice walk.

The scenic walk up to the hill is refreshing, with charming pathways, and plenty of spots to pause and enjoy the surroundings. As I climbed up, the panoramic views of the city, the iconic coastline became breathtaking. I highly recommend to take this route and enjoy a peaceful moment of the French Riviera from this scenic viewpoint

We walked all the way up from Old Nice - quite a hike up steep roads and stairs. About 5,000 to 8.000 steps according to out Fitbit. We were on the north west end and didn't have the elevator /ascenseur which is on the south end off the Promenade Des Anglais. But really worth the climb for the amazing views of the harbour, the beach and the city. We got to see the sun set over Nice. A bonus.

Incredible views of the Promenade from this viewpoint. We travelled up by the electric train. We elected not to get back on train for the return journey and instead stayed to enjoy the view and the walk back down to the Promenade.

Impressive museum with Chagall masterpieces like the song of songs or the biblical works. There are also sketches from the work on churches stained glass. Garden is also beautiful. I did not like that there is no seating to watch and enjoy.

Great layout, a good number of large paintings by Chagall, and also an impressive set of prints including prints that were made for books. It is definitely worth spending a couple of hours. My only disappointment (and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5) is that the paintings are mostly picked from the religious works of Chagall, and some of the masterpieces are missing. Nonetheless, there's a sense of awe from standing in front of these paintings.

We visited the Marc Chagall museum and enjoyed our visit. The crowds can be very challenging, so pack your patience. The usually museum closes for 1 hr. From 1-2 pm for lunch. In addition to the museum galleries, there's a small restaurant, garden, and gift shop, all of which stay available during the lunch break..

Great artist, but I did expect more pictures to watch. Around 60 pictures are presented in this museum. Entry was under 10€.

A must museum for those fans of Modernist Art. In this one, the visitor will find many works religion-inspired of the artist: depictions of illustrations related in the Old Testament, as the artist was Jewish. Also, some works are abstracts, free to interpretation. Chagall was as well remarked for stained glass windows, and some of them can be found in this museum.

Well curated collection of Marc Chagall's work. A state of art gallery in a nice setting. Loved the rose collection which went with the perfume experience. It was once in a life time experience.

However, if the style doesn't align with your preferences, you may feel out of place and uncomfortable. What an absolutely wonderful museum to visit while in Nice. Filled with his paintings, drawings, lithographs and prints, as well as his famous stain glass. It’s not a large museum and you can see everything in about an hour. At 10 euros a ticket, it’s absolutely worth it.

Superb collection of Chagall’s artwork. We thoroughly enjoyed it. There is a QR code for commentary of some of the artwork which is very helpful. Also a nice addition is the QR code for kid’s commentaries as well.

The museum is rather little, and it doesn't take more than 1,5 hours to see most of it, even if you adore Chagall. It is interesting that it was built like a church, according to Chagall's wishes. The paintings have mostly religious themes, but there are some more abstract and some more "personal". Worth visiting if you have spare time in Nice.

The museum is dedicated to the works of Marc Chagall. The visit can be for about an hour and there is a French film on screen about the life of the painter.

Unforgettable experience. Super well built museum, all the main pictures have free audio guide, that you can be listening from your phone. Free entrance for students. Touchy explanations of Chagall’s ART, beautiful memories and new things to learn.

My only criticism would be the lunch time shut down. It was not clear that the museum, in fact, was open until 1.00pm, although the tourist information said it closed at 12.00. Nevertheless, it was a fantastic art museum with an excellent film about the life work of Chagall, which we cut short because we thought we had to leave by 12.00.

The Chagall Museum left a profound impression on me. Upon arrival, I noticed there was a queue, but to my pleasant surprise, it progressed quite swiftly. Inside, the artwork was nothing short of spectacular, capturing both my imagination and admiration. Even though the museum was bustling with visitors, each piece was so compelling that the presence of the crowd seemed to fade away. It's an experience I'd recommend to anyone; the masterpieces are an absolute must-see.

Wonderful to see the stained glass and paintings. Also the modern collaborative works - the room with perfumes matched to the paintings added another level to the experience. Note - metal detectors and bag search on entry. Liquid is not allowed in the building but there is a water bottle 'park' where you can collect your liquids when you leave.

The worst experience I have ever had at a museum. We traveled in from Cannes for my birthday; I checked the website beforehand to make sure they were open, etc. We arrived when they re-opened from lunch and joined the queue outside. We waited 40 minutes in the rain before two large tour buses pulled up and emptied loads of people who walked straight into the museum. A man then came out to tell those of us queuing that the museum had reached capacity (even though it was only 3pm and the museum is open until 5pm) and no one else would be accepted. He closed the gate and that was it. It’s a shame as I visited the museum once before and loved it. I was really looking forward to returning for my birthday. I have never been treated so callously by a museum and would never give them my money again. If you want to visit despite the rude staff and abominable customer service, my recommendation is to arrive early and maybe call ahead to make sure no tour groups are expected.

A very nice museum with a good collection. Be prepared to surprises during your visit. First I had to wait at the entrance as the number of visitors was too high. Then half of the museum was closed, ticket price was reduced from 10 to 8 Euro.

It was really interesting but the stuff started to ask us to leave 40 minutes before closing time. Was a bit confusing and we couldn’t check all beautiful works. And we had to wait around 20 minutes outside due to the tour bus - not the fault of the museum but not a good experience.

A cathedral with Russian architectural influence. The cathedral has very intricate design throughout. Situated in a calm and quiet place. One of the main attractions is you can see numerous rabbits prancing around in the garden surrounding the cathedral. Definitely worth the visit.

Amazingly preserved/restored Russian orthodox Cathedral at the heart of what was an imperial/Russian Expat neighborhood in Nice during the 1800s. Small fee to have full access and entry into the museum is well worth it. A must-see for any history buff. Still in use today by locals and Russian refugees who have fled the Putin regime.

This is the best place to enjoy beautiful view of Nice, take pictures of the beach, the city, you even can see the snow covered peak if weather permits. A local musician is playing old accordion, I am really touched by his music.

This place is magnificent. My girlfriend and I took the guided tour offered daily at 3pm (free with Riviera Pass otherwise €10, offered in English and French). The Sisters there were very nice and knowledgeable. The opulence of the interior is breathtaking, as is the exterior visage. It is a truly remarkable building and a must-see. Beautiful Church with a nice garden. We found five bunnies here and a tabby cat. The basic tour is free and you can pay a cheap price for the whole experience.

It's an orthodox church a quite peaceful place that you can visit even you are not belong to them they are open for tourists

Great historical place to visit. Super impressive architectural design. Nice green space outside. However, they charge fees to pray. This is the only church that does it. I entered the praying area and was approached by the old babushka who quite authoritary stated I have to buy a ticket to be in the praying area. Horrible! This is against Christ's teaching!

I don't find the price of five euros reasonable to enter a specific area in the church. I believe you can see what you need from below that point, and this charge may discourage people from praying in that part of the church. While the exterior and front yard are truly lovely, I don't think anyone should have to pay five euros to visit the entire inside of the church.

I had a lovely walk here during a Saturday sunset. The architecture reflected beautifully against the sun rays, and the whole place felt very peaceful. There are beautiful large roses at the entrance of the cathedral and if you look closely, there are rabbits running among the gardens! They are fluffy and innocent looking, but kick very hard when unwillingly carried by visitors😅 so please don’t disturb them! There are benches around the cathedral which are perfect to rest on while you take in the views. I only wandered outside the cathedral and never entered so I’m not sure if there is a fee to enter, but the outside is definitely free.

Fantastic place, great architecture. You can come inside and enjoy. You can also buy some of their souvenirs and local products. Beautiful park around. Easy to reach by walking from the city center.

Beautiful cathedral, a place to absolutely visit, when you see it and enter it seems like you are in Russia. I recommend the ticket to see the small museum in the basement and entrance to the cathedral is included

Beautiful architecture on the outside. Small but pretty interior. That's the free part of the cathedral. There is a museum and crypt that can be visited for a small fee. I haven't been.

Beautiful Cathedral, nice grounds. You can enter the cathedral and see the decorative designs inside, but you can only go so far unless you are taking part in a service.

This was a lovely stop in Nice, more so for the experience as a whole and not based on the amount of Matisse’s work represented within. They did have more obscure pieces of his fabric work, furnishings, and stained glass in addition to the more well-known paper cut outs. The Villa it is housed in adds to the excursion immensely, and there is a park outside to have a lovely picnic in if you come prepared. There is no parking at the building, so we just drove around until we found a space.

Beautiful building of the museum. Generously designed exhibition halls. The lovers of Matisse will be excited. The others will at least have a nice walk and can use a clean bathroom, which is also important. Nice and helpful staff.

The greatest works aren't here. The museum is definitely too crowded; it lacks a wardrobe so you have to carry your rucksack with you all the time, which is quite uncomfortable. Lockers at the entrance get full very quickly, so if you have other bulky items (luggage, umbrella) you have just to drop them at the entrance and pray to God to find them again when you exit. To get there take bus #5 from the centre

It's a beautiful museum if you like Matisse. Students don't pay at all if they present their card. When I went, a lot of matisses paintings had gone to Japan for an exhibition but I was amazed at a collection of 10 or so paintings lent by a family in the villa. I had never seen these and really loved them. The shop is lovely too and you can buy posters or reprographies.

The Matisse Museum is somewhat average, but it's worth a visit for art enthusiasts. I highly recommend purchasing a combination ticket. The park where it is located is also nice, and there is a parking lot nearby for visitors to use.

Museum is good, but doesn't have enough character for me. It was exhibition not only for Matisse, also for Hackney... Only a few paintings of Matisse. A lot of people... The building of Museum is looking nicer from outside then from inside

Apparently, it was Hockney-Matisse. The artworks were 35% Matisse's and 65% Hockney's. It's not worth the 10€ the adults have to pay. So if you are looking for Matisse, you won't find him there. Also, it's far away from civilization, so you better take the bus or the train.

If you are an art lover this place is perfect for you. In the gallery yoi will find Matisse paintings for and from time to time other half is changed. Plus for students entry is free.

You get to learn about Matisse's life, experiences, travels and influences. A few wonderful examples of his art, but of course most of the really well known material is elsewhere. Entrance is not that easy to find!

I have a print from this museum at home so it has been a dream of mine to pay it a visit. A beautiful location up the hill, free entry for students, and free entry to the Archeology Museum - what’s not to like? I also liked the storytelling when it came to Matisse’s travels and how that related to his artwork and creativity. The only downside is my print (Danseuse Créole) isn’t currently on display!

The whole villa is really stunning and the information regarding the artist and art is well written and fun to read. It’s fun to get a glimpse of how the artist goes through different eras in his work. The gift shop was a real treat with loads of posters, books and crafts!

This was one of our stops using the 4 day (4 jours) ville de Nice / musees de Nice museum pass. We loved how many pieces they had to show! The sketches were my personal favorites but of course the paintings were amazing to see in person as well. They had an exhibition on Shirley Jaffe, who I was unfamiliar with before but enjoyed experiencing. Definitely recommend making the trip out to see if you have the pass and doubling up with the musee d’archeologie. We spent ~2 hours between the two museums that day.

I visited the museum with the intention to learn more about Matisse. The red villa is the main part of the museum where his biography and most of his paintings, drawings, sculptures and some personal belongings are presented. The first part right at the entrance is dedicated to temporary exhibitions, like the Tom Wesselmann's one I saw. Overall, I enjoyed my visit and it took me 2 hours and half to see and read everything, but it could be done much quicker. I should come back another time though, since the current exhibition had taken pretty much half of the museum's space, I was left wanting to see more of Matisse himself. I'm glad I managed at least to see one of his famous Blue Nudes. The museum's shop was also very nice. The villa is very pretty on the outside too and the gardens around are great for a walk or picnic.

Great place to visit. It was interesting to meet the art of Matisse in real life. But I expected more information about his life, about the way to his style and about the place he lived in. The museum located exactly in the house where the artist lived some time, but there wasn't much information about it. I can recommend to visit this place for once I wouldn't go directly to Nice with a goal to go to this museum📍

This was a pleasant surprise! I was hesitant to go in here but we really liked it. It was very cozy and calming. Not only plants but also many different species of animals can be seen. 5 eur for the entrance, I'd say it is worth!

What a great place. Close to the airport and tram stops. The animals are well cared for and the enclosures well laid out. The large outdoor areas offer great space to relax.

Amazing park to visit, many plants, some animals, nice views. For 3 euros for students it is definitely worth it. The otters are very cute, especially the small ones.

We we’re visiting in the Phoenix park with my family middle of April. Unfortunately the visiting was truly disappointment. Almost all the plants, flowers and animals wasn’t look good. There are some good services as several free toilets, one small cafeteria and some sort of picnic area. The place needs maintenance and some service before visiting can be enjoyable.

Amazing,well maintained Park! We went on Easter weekend and there were lots of things for kids, bouncy castles, play area, labyrinthine, mini zoo and tree climbing for all ages!.. you can also bring your own picnic.

Great place to visit during my stay in Nice. Beautiful flowers an animals. Small enclosures and expensive prices for food and water/drinks. Would recommend if you are in Nice, bring your own food and water/ packed lunch.

It was a nice walk through the parc. The greenhouse is bigger than expected. Very cheap entry around 5€ for adult. We couldnt lock our backpack so that was a miss, had to carry it through the parc.

Very clean and was a great scenic walk. The plants were very well taken care of and it was hilarious seeing peacocks and ducks roam around the place.

Lovely place, didn’t expect much for the entry price but could have spent the whole day there. I’d like to go back with a nice camera and spend the day taking pictures of the plants, animals, fish, birds etc. There’s so much to see. Highly recommend it.

What a great place to get away from all the shops and buildings. Some lovely animals and reptiles hidden away here. All very well looked after. Nice to just sit relax and watch the Lemurs as well. Huge place

A relatively small but vibrant park with a lovely selection of animal life to have a look and ponder at. The Peacock is particularly a character and will very happily approach you with tail out and shimmering!! We had an amazing hour or so wandering and enjoying the flora and fauna along with the animals & reptiles. A much recommended visit if your in the area!!!

It felt a bit "wrong time" - some parts of the park were abandoned - not sure if because of the season (middle of summer) or lack of attention - but we saw plenty of non existing plants (where the name card was left but no item itself). Not so many animals as well. It's nice place to have a slow stroll but don't expect too much - it needs some maintenance. There were kangaroos, lemurs, porcupine, otters, domeaticated animals and some birds. There is a section with insects, snakes and crocodile. So, probably going there with kids would make much more sense.

Nice place to stroll through to see pretty flowers, plants, shrubs, and trees along with few animals. Very close to the airport and accessible by tram, restaurant on site and also a climbing park for both older and younger kids.

Despite the fact, that we were in the park in January, we really liked it. As a lover of flowers and flora, I really enjoyed it and I recommend visiting the park, a really very peaceful place.

Nice park in Nice. Don't expect a lot of animals, but it's perfect for a walk. Also the building with the jungle plants would be very interesting for someone who is interested in plants (I am not at all :) )

We went on a day it was free just by chance. Evenso, it is a brilliant few hours to walk around the gardens. There is a good view of the airport through the trees which pleased the kids. The animals were an added bonus.

There's all kinds of interesting art here that's worth checking out, if you're interested in art. The museum is huge, it took us 2 hours to see everything. I especially loved the terrace as you get a nice view of Nice up there and it's really refreshing to get some air after walking so much. Highly recommended!

The permanent collection is interesting with amongst others the blue work from Nice born artist Yves Klein The temporary exhibition with African art did not impress me much. Too much copy-paste from "western" artist. The top level is open, and the sections connected with bridges so you can walk around have good views of the city below. There is even a small garden there.

An excellent museum displaying predominantly French modern art. At the time of my visit, there was an Italian art exhibit as well. Most art pieces are accompanied by descriptions that are in both French and English, as well as in Italian. The museum is thus very tourist friendly. Finally, for €10, the rate of admission is very reasonable and accessible. I highly recommend checking this museum out.

They begin closing operations earlier than 30 minutes before closing. As a public facility, this kind of operation is ridiculous. The bus was late and I arrived 35 minutes before closing. And the entrance was very confusing, and after going through security once by mistake, I was told it was another entrance and went to the museum entrance again. They refused to let me in even though it was only 17:29 at that time. I was a student and it was free, so I did not have to pay. They told me to come back tomorrow morning but unfortunately that is not possible as I am leaving. Very unfair and rude experience.

Weird and wonderful art here. Interesting enough to spend 1-2 hours. Modern and creative ways of portraying political messages. Well worth coming if you like art, otherwise perhaps not worth 10€ per adult. Several floors here, so you can always skip the less exciting ones. A great view of Nice from the top platform.

Nice museum, a lot of space to walk around. Unfortunately there could be a bit more art especially more modern art. Yves Klein is nice to look at. For a few euros more you can buy a museum pass to see all the other in Nice as well. That’s good.

The staff is nice, but the museum is dirty and dusty, and it seems grungy. The coolest part is the roof or you can walk up and down these bridges to go all around the building and give you fantastic views. The place has great potential but it’s very tired, dirty and dusty. The Gardens looks like they might be under construction and there might be a plan to fix them up. I hope that’s true because it’s a space with incredible potential but right now it’s just ratty.

Great place to see modern art from not only France but all around the globe from different historical periods and movements and by different artists. Wonderfully structured and organized exhibitions on 4 floors. You can easily spend at least 2 hours contemplating all the art there.

I highly recommend this contemporary art museum. It has a wide variety of exhibits, and the quality is quite good. It features renowned contemporary artists as well. I also strongly recommend visiting their rooftop, where you can enjoy the beautiful views of Nice.

Would have missed this gem if it is not included in the French Riviera Pass. A very fun place to explore the works of some imaginative and audacious French artists and a 360 degree view from the rooftop.

Spacious museum with frequent exhibitions running. Very worth a visit if you’re interested in modern arts. They have free lockers at the entrance so you can keep your belongings there. If you’re an absolute classic arts lover like me, then this one is not for you.

Nice local old market with so many flowers! It is a large market and open for a long day time. The prices are fine, not cheap but okay. Goods are fresh and various. I think it is deserve to have a look as it is in the middle of Vieux Nice. it is easy to arrive any other places by walking

I've seen several markets in France and this one is a great one! The square is lovely and I highly recommend to eat some traditional bites from the stand in front of the café Mamma Mia. I'd go back to Nice just for that! Particularly enjoyed the bagnat and Tarte aux tomates.

There were lots of stalls there, but not so many selling flowers. Mainly there were plants, lavender, spices, fruit and cheeses. It’s a great place to visit but i don’t really know why it’s known as the flower market?

One of my favorite stops. We purchased a carton of fresh strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries for the girls and fresh olives for me. We also picked up some local soap for gifts.

This is a functional market for locals as well as selling souvenirs etc. Very well decorated and had a good selection of food and handicrafts. Gets very hot in the middle of the day in summer but well worth a visit during your time in Nice.

Vibrant market with stalls selling flowers, produce, and souvenirs. I came at 9AM but some stalls were still setting up. There was barelt anyone there. It felt kind of dead. Later I come back at 10:30AM and it's much more vibrant. If you come after noon, the produces are 50% off (I heard from my tour guide. I didn't stay there after noon so can't confirm!)

Loved this local market. They sell more fruits, vegetables and other novelty items more than flowers. It’s called the flower market due to historical reasons - Nice was the first wholesale fresh flower market in Europe (I think the world?) that attracted attention from multiple cities and countries. Fresh flowers began to be shipped out by train to various cities and really put Nice on the map during the early 1900’s. But it’s an awesome place to stop by on a sunny morning for soaps, spices, meats, painting, so many things. One of my favorite spots in the city.

Beautiful cathedral in old Town Nice. The lighting is very well thought out. There was light music playing that really added to the atmosphere as well. I stayed for a good 45 minutes and enjoyed the peacefulness.

Each of us carry a flower light to signify God’s sacrificial chapters up the apt slope in old Nice roads. Cathedral is very inviting and warm, aligns with the nice-ees who is so kind to show us how to unite with Jesus on the special day.

Quiet, calm place but dark, cold and uncomfortable inside...typical of old stone places of worship. Religion was never about life and joy, it was (is) about suffering and redemption. The murals, paintings depict death, blood (including a beheading!), suffering and pain. Impressive for sure.

The Cathedral of Nice was built during 17th century and was dedicated to a Christian martyr girl. The Saint Reparate is Nice and Florence patron Saint, and her relics rest in the altar of this Cathedral. We were lucky to witness a solemn orgue concert that enriched our experience.

Stunning little cathedral in the centre of Nice's old town. Free to visit and it appears a lot of the guided tours go here. The art inside is worth visiting alone, it's incredibly well preserved and feels almost as if it was painted last week! Flash photography isn't allowed, probably to better preserve the paintings. If you're taking your time it will still only take the maximum of an hour so it's a good thing to see if you're spending the day in the old town.

A stunning baroque cathedral set on a lovely square in the old city. Many beautiful artworks and statues and a magnificent dome. Much lovelier than the more modern cathedral in the commercial centre of Nice and cettainly more calm and serene. A must-see in the old city

Pity that the staff is providing a poor customer service and does not know how to apply the price list. A child as of 12 years old apparently costs like an adult and is not even classed as student. Pupil is not student but a normal adult. In addition a family with one kid is not a family as you need two kids for the price for family (2 adult +2 children) to be applied. So we decided not to take the train as the young lady at the counter just wasnt able to charge us correctly as per price list. Remember, the tourists might be annoying but they provide business and jobs for the town.

Pebble beach of Nice on promenade d’anglais is an amazing place to spend time.

We went to have the tour. Eventhough they mention that they do the tour hourly, we could not. As shown in the picture the take offs were cancelled. There was no explanation for reasoning either, neither on the website nor in front if the kiosk. So I suggest to call or confirm with them before making any plans.

Well worth the money. Headphones provided to listen to interesting commentary in one of several languages.

This is where you get on the train (by the carousel.) It's an awesome tour with interesting commentary. They no longer take you to the Castel/up the hill, but that's okay! It's still well worth the trip if you don't mind being on a tourist train.

For the fair price of €12 per adult we did the castle route which included 10mins break ok top of the castle hill. The panoramic view was amazing ! The electrical train also took us around the city before going to the castle hill.

For the price of €10 per person we were able to take the guided tour on Le Petit Train. The train is identical to the Promotrain in Paris which takes you from the Moulin Rouge to Montmartre. Once again the tour was brilliant and definitely well worth a ride. The route takes you from The Promenade D'Anglais, around the port and into the old town then back to the Promenade via the Place de Masena. There are multiple languages available to listen to on the headsets provided, you just key in the number by your country's flag. Learnt quite a bit more of the history of Nice with lots of little anecdotes. Can't recommend this enough as a quick way to see the coastal part of Nice.

We did the route du chateau, was lovely and a great way to find your way around old Nice!

Very nice train with all the historical facts about Nice. It takes about 45 minutes and it's the perfect way to get to know the hot spots around Nice. It costs 10 euros per adult and they depart at every 20 minutes.

The Villa itself is impressive and large. There are 3 different floors with the top one being reserved for temporary exhibitions. I would warn people that most of the tour is in french which makes it complicated to understand what we are looking at. Otherwise great visit and fully worth the price.

This villa belonged to one of the most powerful families of Nice and has seen a lot of events unfold within its doors throughout the history of the region. The museum is on three floors. However, only two floors could be visited when I was there. Consider that there is no explanation of the items in English, and you have to rely on your French for decoding the meanings. Also, having the ticket office at some distance from the entry to the compound, and the building itself, is not very convenient for a visitor.

A lovely short (1-2hr) place to see. First floor is delightful and sends you back to another era. Upper floors were nice too, seeing photos through the years. Wish the main floor retained more of its original furniture, but that's not always possible

This is a lovely building, with some amazing rooms and exhibits, set in beautiful grounds. There is a video in English and French which was interesting to sit through, to discover more about Nice. Certainly a museum worth visiting if you're in the area.

Villa Masséna is a wonderful museum, right in the center of Nice. It has a beautiful park around. There are 2 floors. The ground floor is with adorable decorated rooms and in the living room you can see interesting movie about history of Nice and Villa. The first floor has unexpected things: not only pictures, but some jewelry and costume elements. Highly recommend 👌

A tree story high villa that has been very well taken care of, same for the furniture and the wall art/paintings. The descriptions were in french only, no English, so that was a bit confusing. It’s a breathtaking place though and I definitely recommend visiting it.

The Museum is located inside this beautiful villa built by Victor Masséna, Duke of Rivoli, in 1898 and donated by the son André to the city of Nice in 1919. On the ground floor there are some decorated halls, on the first floor instead there are various exhibits about the history of the city. Second and third floors were closed at the moment of my visit in April. The ticket costs 10€ or 15€ if you buy the Nice Museum Pass.
