The room wasn't anything special. It was just another hotel room. It was, however, well taken care of. All personnel was professional and really kind. They anticipated on our needs. I'm extremely positive about the service that was offered. The location is top-notch, right outside Central train station, so there is an abundance of public transport to choose from. The hotel borders on the high street, so you can check-in, leave your luggage behind and literally start shopping within 5 minutes (if that's what you're in to) The zoo is also in walking distance as it is literally around the corner from central station. Maybe about 50m from the entrance of the hotel. I will definitely return to this hotel, mostly because of the convenience of it all. I stayed here with family and very much enjoyed it! The staff was extremely friendly and helped with every extra request & question we had. The room was spatious and the entire property is clean. The breakfast had enough variability (although my son missed the fried eggs – they only had scrambled eggs). We very much appreciated the small gym. Greetings from Hungary (Budapest) ;-)

To start off, the location of this hotel is amazing for a nights trip from Brussels or Brugge. It is right across from the train station so it is easily accessible. The lobby is nice and clean, the gym is small but decent and the breakfast is adequate. That is where my praise ends. When I first entered the room there was a strange smell which I suspect came from the stained carpet. There is construction currently going on right next to the hotel which is very loud and makes it impossible to sleep in. But my main problem was the bathroom/shower. Both the body soap and conditioner were missing there plugs. This allows for moisture and humidity to constantly be circulating through the containers which is unsafe. On top of that, the lids could easily be removed and when I did I noticed there was bits of conditioner(?) in the soap and a disgusting blue gunk growing on the soap containers (I have attached pictures). This is extremely unsanitary and unsafe. On top of that, the shower water did not maintain a steady temperature. It went from warm to burning hot to warm to burning hot. I was consistently screaming as I got burned by the water. I ended up showering at a friends place as both the water temperature and soap made me uncomfortable showering at the hotel. This was very disappointing and ruined my experience. I would recommend looking at other options near the train station before booking this place but the location is prime.

Stayed one night and was pleasantly surprised. Location couldn’t be beat. The hotel is right at the train station. Close to all main attractions, shopping district and dining. Very friendly and professional service. Rooms were spacious for Europe. Breakfast was a full buffet. I can’t say enough about our stay and highly recommend.

Very comfortable room, clean, good in-room amenities. We were at this hotel over a weekend and it seemed completely booked but we certainly couldn't tell while we were in our room. Hardly any noise filtered into our room from the street (we faced Central Station) or the construction going on and if people allowed their doors to slam (which normally happens in hotels) we didn't hear it. The rooms were so well insulated. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Our last day in Antwerpen we wanted to stay and walk around the city later than the checkout and front desk staff stored our luggage for us. When I came back to collect there was a long wait in the lobby, people checking in, and the person who checked my luggage saw me, finished what he was doing at the moment and motioned me to follow him. He said he didn't want me to miss my train. So nice and thoughtful. I wish I would have gotten his name to call him out. The buffet breakfast was very crowded, that is how we knew the hotel was booked up, but still good and plenty of food. One of the coffee machines was out of order when we were there so long line for the coffee...but no big deal. Location was good, across from the Central Station, and about a mile from the town square but we enjoyed the walking so no issue for us. Would definitely go back.

We stayed there for 14 nights and everything was perfect! Location is great right in front of central station, room was clean , breakfast was pretty good and the hotel staff was very friendly and attentive! And special thanks to the receptionists Rachid and Noimi who helped us through out our stay with their suggestions and were very kind. Will definitely stay here if we visit Antwerp again!

We rarely give a 5* rating, but this hotel deserves it. We stayed there for one night in mid-July for fair price. The staff at the reception was outstanding, friendly, well-spoken and very helpful. We were also delighted with the size and cleanliness of the room, the comfortable matresses and the layout of the sections. the room was quiet despite its front pointing towards the railway station. The breakfast was included, the selection was sufficient and the staff there very friendly and fast. We would always return there.

Hampton by Hilton was the perfect hotel for our stay. It is located directly across the street from the Antwerp train station. Taxis and bikes for rent are steps away from the front door of the hotel. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was clean, good sized, and well stocked. Great experience.

Great value for money overall! Pros: Very good location. We arrived from the train station and the hotel is 2 minutes from the train station and the metro station . Well sized rooms. Well lit and with good air conditioning. Comfortable and clean beds. Really great value for money. Amazing staff, very helpful and very knowledgeable! Thanks for an amazing time. Cons: The bathrooms were clean and hygienic but the shower area could have been cleaned better. Also the breakfast was okay. It can also be improved vastly. I would prefer to have breakfast outside the hotel next time

I love this place. The views are amazing in the lobby and also in some of the rooms. It's conveniently located for touring Antwerp, and a quick walk from the station. The staff are amazing and helpful. They speak fluent English. They go above and beyond to make your stay better. The breakfast spread is great, very filling. You can even grab a piece of fruit for later. The beds are fine, not amazing. The rooms themselves are great, plenty of space, big windows. I would love to stay here again. This was my view!

Great hotel. When visiting Antwerp, I recommend staying here, it is located across the street from the central train station. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the room is cleaned every day. Breakfast included, buffet, there is everything you need for breakfast for every taste, very tasty. Friendly staff. If there is an opportunity to still visit this wonderful city, I will definitely stop here. Within walking distance from the center and all sights of the city.

We stayed four nights, arriving very early morning from North America by flights to Brussels and then by train to Antwerp. When we arrived at the hotel, the staff were very professional and luckily our room was already available. We enjoyed very much the location of the hotel, the professional attitude of the staff, and the morning buffet with healthy options (eggs, cold and warm vegetables, etc.). The training room was good too. The only minor comment is the hot water stability, it fluctuates back and forth between too warm and just right. Room was clean, bed was great. When we left we were allowed also an extra hour for late checkout and could work in the hall with coffee available. Overall we are really happy about our stay and would go back if visiting Antwerp again.

The rooms (we were on 7th floor) were nice. Its a bit unfortunate that the parking is like 3min by foot away and that the reception is on the first floor. Made our arrival and departure a bit bumpy. Parking costs with 16 euro/night are great. Also super accessable by train as it is right at the train station. The breakfast however is terrible. They should really send someone to look after the food (the veggies were old and nothing was really cooled or had silverware to serve it... so people destroyed the buffet). It looked disgusting at 9.00am. For a hotel of this category, I expected a decent continental breakfast. Also the presentation of the food as such was sad. We ended up having breakfast in the city.

If you can catching Thalys or any other trains, no other hotels beat this hotel’s location. The breakfast was served two charming Asian staff members and that made a great start of the day. The bathroom door was not working well, so I had to take one star off. But clean and cozy. The surrounding area is not as safe and clean as the hotel itself. Be extra careful with taxi drivers waiting between the hotel and the station. They refuse to receive online payments and give you a receipt or try to race with other cars. If you don’t have big bags, go elsewhere to catch a cab.

Hotel very close to central station. We came by car so not very convenient to park in garage 300m in an alley in the rain. Room was nice and quiet and breakfast was well organised with good staff despite it being very busy. Not the same can be said for the reception desk though. When checking in no eye contact, hello/good evening and crew just staring at the monitors instead of helping customers check in. Then a rude group just barged in front of line, without personell knowing they just helped them. Check out just as terrible. No goodmorning or goodbye again. When asking how to receive the hotel parking discount as advertised, the reception was clueless: Interparking Vesting recognized my car numberplate as i'm member of their chain, so I could enter without a ticket and fully charging me for 24 hours.

Perfect one night stop over across the road from Antwerp Centraal station. Appears the hotel is virtually brand new... it is absolutely lovely Huge comfortably family room with 2 huge beds. Kitchenette and dining table. Large bathroom Full bar and restaurant (which we didn't use, but looked great!)

Was great location for our need. Clean and excellent friendly staff. Breakfast was just great and fulled us for the day. Very happy with our choice to stay at the hampton by hilton. I asked for 3 extra pillows when i went to Breakfast by the time i got back to my room my pillows were there. 6 stars

The hotel is directly across the street from the central rail station, so very convenient if you’re arriving by train. There are lots of restaurants and cafes nearby, as well as groceries. If you’re arriving by car, parking is down the street and around the corner, about a 5-10 minute walk. I was upgraded to a huge room with a kitchenette and dining table, as well as plenty of windows. The room overlooked the train station - good for the views, bad for the noise. There was lots of traffic noise during the day but it died down later in the evening.

Great location. Nice breakfast, variations in food. You also have the ability to make your own waffle :). The staff was pleasant and easy to talk to. Overall price/quality its good.

It's okay. The location is convenient for guests arriving by train, tram or bus. If you come by car, you should add 30 minutes on top of your satnav ETA. The hotel has no parking facility. Rooms are okay, however during our stay some items were missing and or dirty. Also HH benefits items were not in the room. We where offered to switch rooms but as we already where settled we refused. Breakfast is okay, the restaurant is spacious and there are plenty of tables available. The receptionist (Rachid) at check-in clearly did everything to make us feel welcomed and valued as a diamond member. The staff at checkout had a completely different attitude. Despite Rachid's best efforts i am not sure if I will use this particular hotel for future stays

Such a beautiful Cathedral. A must see UNESCO World Heritage site. The cathedral has so neat statues around it also. You can see some of the crypts they have uncovered. If you are in Antwerp you have to check out this place. You will not be disappointed.

Beautiful and imposing Cathedral. From afar we see it zooming above the old city skyline. The facade is gorgeous and highly detailed architecture wise. The inside is peaceful and sober and features many paintings by Rubens. The stained glasses are marvellous. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the neighbourhood.

This’s a real gem of a cathedral. It’s spectacular. It will makes your heart sing. It’s dazzling white. With many impressive carvings and objects of art that have religious significance. Remember it’s a functional cathedral. We happen to visit during the ceremony and were asked to watch from the hallway.

Sort of expensive to get in but I thought it was worth it. The scale of the inside is very impressive, and the art on display is truly beautiful. There's plenty of explanations written in many languages too so it's very easy to learn about the art etc. I could have spent ages in there just soaking it in.

Antwerp Cathedral of Our Lady is one of the top 3 places to see in Antwerp. Construction was completed in 1521, it's capacity is 25,000 visitors. If the cathedral looks imposing, it's interior looks magnetic, with paintings by Rubens, and very impressive wood ornaments. There are also two big organs. Entrance is charged but is worth every penny.

Very formidable building at the city center but sadly needs tickets for entering, and at weekends most of the time it's booked for private events such as weddings. Has an organ so I guess it's nice being inside while playing.

A gorgeous cathedral that houses some beautiful Rubens! Definitely worth a trip to walk around and see all the incredible artwork. The basement has some catacombs, which are small but very interesting to see. There are some small spiral metal staircases you will need to use to get to them, and if you are claustrophobic, it might not be good for you. You can stand up in them, but there's not a ton of headroom, it's single file, and gets crowded, so just know that. There is a model of what the church used to look like which I find helpful to visualize the past. The most impressive parts were the large painted domed ceiling, the incredible stained glass windows which are EVERYWHERE, and the ornate carved wooden choir seats. Just breathtaking craftsmanship on everything, and you are surrounded by incredible beauty and art.

When just moved in Antwerp about 7 years ago, I came here once. I read the book <A Dog of Flanders> long before, so have a different feelings about these 2 masterpieces of Rubens , although he is not my favorite. Totally worth a trip and need to book a reservation for the tower.

What an amazingly preserved cathedral with four of Ruben's artwork. There are many other paintings by other artists which in the main depict biblical themes. Unfortunately for us the English tour was cancelled on the day we were there. There is a toilet here for paying customers. Wheelchair accessible. There is a crypt below the church that is very dank and badly ventilated. Spend just 1 or 2 minutes here. This is a truly grand cathedral. Worth a visit.

Only visited after museum hours to explore the Panorama and Viewing Gallery. Wonderful experience.. escalators took us all but last floor.. ever opening vistas .. great images of folk around escalators... glimpses of museum exhibitions made me really want to return. Views from the top across city, river and port were stunning. Huge thanks!

One of my favorite places in Antwerp is the Mas museum. its location. the views… the fact that you can sit inside and drink your coffee or read your book. You can go to the roof and enjoy the Antwerp weather and panoramic..

One of the most beautiful museums I have ever been. Amazing architecture with attention to details. Free access to the rooftop with panoramic view. Numerous halls with art.

Well, it’s big, so big that most of the time it feels but empty. Once a while an exhibition interesting to visit. But most of the time, it’s good for climbing all the way to the roof top to enjoy the panoramic view of the city and the harbor. So worthwhile give it a try. : :

Beautiful experience. The terrace on tenth floor is free to visit (kudos), but the permanent exhibition is a must see as well. A plunge in history of Antwerp, plan an entire afternoon to visit.

Interesting museum with lots in it though the main thing was stairs! Plenty of weirdness - little made sense but conversely it meant there was something for everyone! The climb to the top is well worth it and you get some great views of Antwerp.

One of the main museum in Antwerpen, a 10 floor museum with an amazing architecture, and INSANE expositions. You have also some temporary exhibitions. Take at least 3h to visit this museum, you will need it. Each floor as a theme and plenty of different pieces of Art. The employees are really nice as well, and super available if you have any question.

I loved this museum and ran out of time. There are floors devoted to a broad theme like food or home and then bring together historic paintings, current interviews, examples of say food businesses like bakers, sausage makers, historic equipment. It was really fascinating and enlightening. One floor explains what they collect and show you this looking in on storage areas (these looked a little staged) but all making for much more interest than many.

Visited because we had the Antwerp pass. It would have been worth the €12 ticket though. The story exhibition was great. The panoramic view and the storage vault is free to visit so at least take some time to view those if nothing else. Very interesting architecture as well, a great addition to the dock. The shop was shut one the day of our visit though which was a bit of a shame.

The panoramic view was great, but we couldn't stay on the roof floor longer than taking a few photos. It was almost 28°C on the day we visited. The exhibitions involved some videos and interactive elements, but we thought they were quite boring. Can skip them if you are more interested in enjoying the city view.

Very nice building in a nice marina area, walkable neighborhood with trees some shade and benches to take a break and some nice little art displays like statues and a heart display❤️ with locks. Unfortunately I didn't know that one can take the escalator upstairs for free. There's apparently a good view from up there, but since I was there in the evening it was probably closed anyway. On the way from my hotel to the museum I took a wrong turn and ended up in the red light district which was interesting and rather colorful, reminding me of the laser light show up in the Atomium, which was great. Along the water one eventually gets to the ferries wheel which looks rather pretty at night 🌙

Lovely museum. Only 10€ per ticket and for people under 18 it’s free (they don’t check your ID lol). The panorama platform is free of charge and the museum had interesting exhibitions with translations into french and english. Would recommend.

It's definitely one of the first museums to visit in Antwerp. Apart from a fantastic exposition dedicated to a Second World War resistance in Belgium, if you reach the top seventh floor, you'll be able to enjoy a stunning view on the Antwerp harbour from both sides. If hungry, don't miss a great, delicious, and quality food in the museum's cantina.

I really like the architecture of the building! The use of curved glass is definitely admirable. It is definitely worth a visit for anyone who admires good modern architecture and panoramic views. I also visited the museum exhibits on different floors and liked the content of most of them. Well stitched narratives for exhibits on each floor. The building has a striking resemblance to the Philharmonie building in Hamburg. You might feel a Deja vu. Overall, would recommend that people visit this place if they are visiting Antwerp.

Awesome building, very friendly staff! The panoramic view access is free and is open from 09:30 a.m. There are a lot of views on the way too. Every story is a different museum and you can buy tickets for different parts too.

There is different exhibitions at different floors. Best ones were Colombia and Home Life exhibition for me and my wife. There was also temporary Flemish Master Painters exhibition that was also wonderful. Panasonic Antwerp view is adding another taste to your visit.

Such great exhibits and building! It’s a short walk from the city center and a nice reprieve from the hustle and bustle. I only viewed the permanent exhibits. I loved every floor and found it all so fascinating. The lookout from the roof (free entry) was fabulous too. The WWII and shipping exhibits really stuck out with me.

Quite tiny nice and clean ZOO, very well organised for a visit. Unfortunately some parts were closed for reconstruction. Admission fee is extremely high comparing to its size and what can be seen on place 🙂😐. Thanks to location accessibility by public transport or train is excellent.

Antwerp Zoo, nestled near the station, is a true urban oasis. A visit to Antwerp Zoo provides an engaging, educational outing for all ages.

Really nice zoo. I don’t know why some people say it’s small. If you follow the numbers, then I imagine it can easily take 3-4 hours. We spent 2 while skipping some zones completely, since we were already hungry. Obviously eating in the zoo will ruin tour experience, but that applies to pretty much any zoo out there. I liked it a lot, and so did the family.

My honest opinion is that it's to expensive for what you get! Really like they had 2 years time to paint and restore the zoo due to corona but no.. fake trees.. ugly stones (if they are real) the animals look sad 😔 and not happy..they all stair at you with a sad look on there face.. to much monkeys in to little spaces Really is this a zoo .. they should be ashamed it need to be a public park because there's more space for us humans who eat drink and play around. 62€ for 2 adults and within the hour your back outside... no never again

Beautiful zoo right in the middle of the city. Beautiful architecture, well maintained, lot of places to relax and eat. Lot of birds, animals and reptiles don’t expect it to be a National park but a well maintained Zoo with enough animals the place can keep you occupied for couple of hours. Its just beside Antwerp central station so location wise it’s amazing.

Excellent place to visit. The atmosphere is great, lots of different animals, friendly staff. The only thing I missed was more points selling drinks and food. Worth the visit!

The zoo is located right in the center of Antwerp next to the central station. Overall the zoo is beautiful, and they make great use of the limited space. However don't expect to walk around for much longer than 2 euros, which is not too long considering the steep entry price. As a student (or in general) it is probably worth buying the yearly subscription as this also gives access to Planckendael and you can enter the zoo an hour before opening time (well worth)

Beautiful zoo! It looks like the animals are well taken care of and have enough room. It is also a great walk around with nice places to sit and rest !

Beautiful park with tonnes of animals from every corner of the world, some of them I hadn't even seen before coming here. Expect the reptiles' and the butterflies' rooms to be very humid, but it's still far from unbearable. The visit of the whole park lasts around 3 hours if you follow the map you're given. If you're visiting Antwerp and you've got the time, the zoo is definitely a must!

I was amazed to see the kind of zoo that they made in the middle of the city. I loved the butterfly garden the most. I took the 1 year subscription and I am sure I am going to make good use of it.

Currently all the enclosed areas are forbidden a cause de COVID and due to the weather some animals remain inside. It would be a good idea to invest in the annual membership, to go back and enjoy it completely. Nevertheless, my 6 y/o had an amazing time in the playgrounds and watching the few animals we could.

I don't go to zoo's often, but this one amazed me. Quite spacious (even though it was busy), and the scenery and kind of themed areas look very nice. The animals also seem well taken care of.

Had an amazing afternoon at the Antwerpen Zoo. Some of the directions sign could be improved a little, but overall it was very nice experience! Definitely better to visit during weekdays becaus the space is not enough or would be too overwhelming for a weekend crowd.

A very nice place in the city center, animals seem as happy as they can be in a zoo. It looks well maintained. Butterfly garden is an amazing place for plant lovers as well.

Had a great day at the zoo! It's always nice to see some animals but unfortunately (and this is at a lot of zoo's) they don't get a lot of space. In many cases we saw huge groups of animals packed together in one tiny area. Another unfortunate thing was that 2 of the little shops were out of drinks.... Maybe because it was busy but should that really be an excuse? Other then that it was nice and we took some nice pictures.

From outside, zoo looks smaller but it is not. It has everything from birds to wild animals to sea animals to insects & reptiles. In some cages it is not easy to find animals because they are either inside the room or hiding.

A great Zoo. The habitats are generous. In particular the apes seem to have lots of outdoor space. Unfortunately it was way too cold on the day we visited to see them out there. The gardens are also really pretty and a good feature. Pretty incredible for being in the centre of Antwerp. The aquarium was my highlight. Be prepared: it's not cheap!

Nice well organized zoo in small size area. I visited it on 1 Jan 2024. I bought a ticket on the spot at EUR 27.50.

I had the chance to visit this zoo in March 24. It is just next to the central station, the part which I really liked was the aquarium part. Highly recommend

Antwerpen Zoo is a great place to visit. The enclosures were all high quality and well maintained, we saw several getting deep cleaned during our day. The only thing I would maybe change about the living areas is designing more areas the animals can hide from onlookers. Some animals had little to no places to retreat into, and as a result were visibly stressed. The whole park was basically trash free, and you can't really notice the fact it's in the dead center of Antwerp. Can only recommend visiting, maybe stock up on food elsewhere because its prices are exorbitant even for Zoo standards.

Great for a few hours with the family. Partly made so picturesque by the beautiful Antwerp central train station next door. Although I'm not a fan of animals in limited spaces (go's for all zoo's), the animals seemed well taken care off and tidy living spaces. Staff were friendly, and amenities clean. There is even baggage storage at the ticket shop which is super convenient if you pop by from the central train station

Nice zoo. Not very big but have mostly all the animals one can expect. Very well organised and view points are also very well located.

Great day activity in Antwerp. Despite being close to the central station, you can barely hear the trains or the city’s noise. Very relaxed.

This place would have been more enjoyable if 1) the audio guide was not so incredibly long-winded and mundane 2) it wasn’t so crowded, especially for the limited space available in the rooms of the house The house is very interesting to see, so are the ornaments and paintings. But if you actually want to spend time there and learn something you better go equipped with patience.

Beautiful little house with interior garden. We went in the winter so it was not as lush as it probably is in the spring. The paintings and objects in the Rubens house give a really intimate look at his life in the house in Antwerp.

The house has a great collection of art assembled by Rubens himself, and the audio tour is informative. Original furniture was interesting to see. The lighting throughout the house is very dark, and the "flow" is a bit confusing, due to the small size of the museum. On the night we went, there was a life study class taking place in one of the rooms, and the teacher needed to keep telling visitors not to stand in certain places, as the visitors were blocking the lighting on the live model in the center of the room. It was very awkward, and made it difficult to see all of the art on display.

Wow! Well-preserved home with amazing marble and tile work. Lovely art collection. You learn about the artist's life and his appreciation of art. Well worth the time.

The great artist Rubens with his first wife bought this house in 1610. The house was his residence as well as his studio for teaching and for business. It survived to today to display some of his paintings, his collections and gifts he received. As a successful painter and wealthy man, Rubens’ collections were quite impressive. The museum offers an audio guide with the entrance fee. Entering in each room, you just use the audio guide to scan the code on display. The guide is well curated telling you the life story of Rubens. The design of the tour is very nice. At the end you will stand in the courtyard facing the portico with Roman style statues. Very enjoyable tour of The Rubens House. The whole tour takes about 60-90 minutes.

Beautiful and interesting museum, but it could’ve been better! Unfortunately it was too crowded to actually enjoy looking at all the rooms. The audio guide was a bit too long, I would’ve liked to read more. It felt like everything in this museum was focused on the audio guide. And there was no free toilet to use?

Ruben's house was a very emotional visit , such a man with great vision ,his kitchen was impressive for those days when very few facilities were available .his medicinal garden with its original geometrical shape was marvellous. The wood work in his house is still strong and impressive.the paintings and self portrait are beautiful.

Lovely place to visit, however it was a bit overcrowded. The audioguide was a little long (at times mundane) but a great journey to walk through. A shame that some places were closed off due to preparations for the 4 yr renovation, but looking forward to visit again once they are complete. 🤍

There are people waiting outside the museum even before opening hours. There is not a long wait though and the museum is very interesting all in all. There is a free audio guide with many information about the artist and the time period he lived in. There are many exhibits and 3 hours are about enough to see everything.

Besides being one of the best European artists, Rubens was also an enthusiastic art collector, devoted student and teacher through all his life. Numerous peaces of art can be seen in his house in Antwerp. His friends, students, teachers and antique artists je admired took their place with their works on the walls and in the garden of his house.

Really big house with a lot of artwork. I was not expecting the amount of artwork and furniture found in the house. The house is large and will take a while to see it all. The gardens in the back are peaceful and nice to sit for a while.

The brewery tour was super fun, we got a beer to start with and then there was a bunch of cool rooms and videos to see. We learned a lot and it was funny and interesting! After we went to the beer tasting at the bar you got 3 different beers for only 8€, we were a group and got 9 different once for everyone to try, it was fun and super delicious! After we went to the little shop that was connected to it and bought our favorite beers. Highly recommend coming here :)

If you want to know about the process of making beer you have to visit this place. It's an interactive and definite you would appreciate.

A great interactive tour. Do it at your pace and enjoy the great beer they have to offer in the end. The tour comes with 2 complimentary drinks. You will.then finish the tour in their bar where you could try more of their beers.

Extremely disappointed after today's visit. Not worthy the money at all, especially for foreigners who don't speak local language. Totally misleading when they heavily advertise the experience as "interactive". Nothing like that. Reading posters on the wall and watching screens are not interactive. I could have done that on YouTube....Only thing remotely related to a brewery is a peek into the workshop that is vacant and silent and I wonder whether the machine is just for show or really in production. Anyway, don't bother. Pick another brewery please

Amazing interactive exhibition, I enjoyed it a lot. I also liked that you get the tastings at the beginning and during the tour and can enjoy it while enjoying the exhibition. Will definitely come back

Totally waste of time and money. What they call interactive is to make you watch 3-4 mins videos in Dutch 😂 no english. We did not like beers also as they were small portion and was not tasty at all.

It was just a bunch of videos about Beer in Belgium. It was Informative but honestly it just felt like, we were going from one screen to another without a single human touch. 🫠 While getting 2 small beers (I kid you not) for us to not be bored. 🥲 They made it so automated and are relying way to much on video and technology and not human touch. 🥺 These places really need to be more experiencial tour. Please make it an actual tour, not some bunch of videos with sliding doors. :/ 😭 Thank you but next. 🙏😒

Very cute museum with the history of Antwerp and the brewery! 16€ per person with 2 glasses for beer to taste. I would love to have seen more of the brewery and less videos but it was still very nice. Great date if you both enjoy beers! Would recommend!! Aand very cute bar and gift shop at the end!!

Really fun museum to visit. Cost 14€ per adult (comes with two glasses of beer). The visit is mostly videos about the history of the brewery but it's very well made. Takes about 1 hour to do. Also, it's the place to buy their products for a really good price. I recommend

Tour was 15 minute long not 60 like it says on Google, you can hardly see anything about actual beer production except some pre recorded video of people speaking about different beers, barely any information about the actual production of beer are disclosed and in the walk where you see part of the factory the only employees were sitting playing on their phone. All in all very underwhelming experience and the beer that you can try there was not even a good quality one. Would not come back or advise it to anyone.

When in Belgium you have to try their waffles, fries, and Beer! What better place to sample than the largest brewery in Antwerp? If you have time take the guide tour. We had the beer tasting flight sampler. Had the bartender arrange Belgium’s favourite. While we aren’t typical beer drinkers we enjoyed the fresh, crisp refreshment on a nice summer day.

I almost walked past this place without noticing it all, but there were some cool woodcut images on the Building which piqued my interest so I had to go inside. There was no queue, the staff were really helpful and spoke perfect English, it was a mind opening experience and so so beautiful inside that I would highly recommend everyone going pst should pop in! It’s worth the money as you get some free prints and a free audio guide.

Very interesting museum, a great insight into the book printing and publishing industry during the Renaissance. Incredible exhibits for those interested in the subject and experts! Possibility to print something yourself with instructions.

Beautiful historical house in the centre of Antwerp with important historical connections to the printing industry of the day. All very interesting and informative.

This museum is incredibly beautiful. It is located in a 16th-century mansion and features astonishing interiors, furniture, tapestries, and paintings. The spirit of previous generations is palpable throughout the building - you can smell it, feel it, and even hear it. I strongly recommend spending a couple of hours there.

A very rare gem of a museum. A must see, even a site of pilgrimage for graphic designers, as this is the birthplace of mass produced books and maps. See the Garamond fonts in their original state and marvel at some lesser known paintings by Rubens. I visited on a Saturday. It can get quite crowded.

So many gorgeous old printed treasures are displayed here in perfect condition along with the type casts and historical printing presses that helped producing them (two of the oldest surviving!). Bibles, math books, botanical guides, world maps, almanacs, commandments, dictionaries. Along with the story of this ancient printing company we discover the astonishing revolution of the printing press that shaped our world. This museum gives great respect to the written word and to the people who worked very hard to spread it. Remember to take the free audio guide, it is very extensive and informative.

I could not imagine that a printer's legacy could be so impressive. It is thanks to Mr Platin that knowledge was able to spread worldwide in the 16th century. The museum succeeds in presenting the achievements of this epoch in a very interesting way and accompanying them with the explanations of the audio guide. In my opinion the most interesting museum in the city.

A nice 1 and 1/2 hour in a brilliant museum. First I thought there would be some old printing machines to see. I was wrong. The building is fascinating and I learnt a lot about the history of books

The museum is well organized, with an audioguide that gives plenty of details (except in one of the first rooms, when it describes the different paintings, the order is pretty mixed up - you need to constantly pause it to figure out which one it's talking about). If you are interested in printing and old books you might enjoy it, I found that it isn't my kind of museum.

AMAZING museum! Multifaceted but not overwhelming, this museum is about the history of the printing press, of book publishing and books in general, Antwerp history, and also the lives of a few very ambitious businesspeople that made this building into what it is. Add to that quite the collection of paintings by Rubens, a stunning flower garden, a beautifully kept building and a great audiotour to be guided among all the information available. Other highlights: two really old libraries and many many botanical books, atlases, prints... All displayed really well for you to enjoy. Don't miss the illuminated manuscripts they kept for inspiration... Book lovers, business people, plant lovers, art lovers and of course history lovers will have a great time here. There's even someone present to workshop the printing press and many interactive moments for kids. Would recommend 10+ though.

What a gem of a museum! Looks small from the outside, but it’s surprisingly spacious inside with loads to explore. Fascinating glimpse into the workings of a printing company in days gone by. And bonus points for the affordable entrance fee – definitely worth a visit!

Impressive museum! Located in the preserved house of the printing company, it hosts one of the oldest printing presses in the world, along with the original typesets and tools used by the company. The museum is very well organised and you get to know so much information about the evolution of the press, the processes and history of the Antwerp as well. It's impressive how much impactful was the company and how wide connections it had with the rest of the world, involved in printing materials all over the world but also conducting research! We had 3 hours available but didn't manage to see 9 rooms!! We will visit again!

I highly recommend this astounding collection of printing artifacts. This unplanned visit became the highlight of our visit to Antwerp. We stayed for hours wandering the halls and were eager to learn more about the family, their peers, and the printing process that lasted centuries. Gorgeous. Educational. Mind-blowing discoveries. Of the 4 of us visiting, 3 of us said this was our favorite activity during our time in the city. A gem in a city of diamonds. 💎

One of the most unique museums I have ever seen. You will see how the old publishing system works and you can try to press print one page of the documents. The building itself is very unique, the wooden floor with leather wall and garden in its center. I have learned a ton from them.

This was a truly inspiring museum. The building itself is wonderful. Some 400 yrs old and given to the city of Antwerp by the family, with all the printing equipment, furniture, and artworks. It traces the story of the first large-scale printing house in Europe. Started around 1552. Their contribution to the progress of knowledge and education in society was significant. They published Bibles, prayer books, civil documents, humanist philosophy, scientific works, school books, propaganda, and even the very first atlas. I loved it.

An impressive museum in the center of Antwerp. It is one of the most important gates of the process of bringing information into the service of humanity. Although it seems like a not very large building, do not pass by without reading the small information on the walls and digital panels while trying to visit the museum without getting lost. Copies of the anatomy atlas and geography atlas, which were printed in the printing house where the roots of fonts such as Times New Roman and Garamond, which are widely used today, emerged, should be reviewed before leaving the museum. If you can find the room where the printing technique of old times is shown live to the visitors of the museum, it will not be a surprise if they give you a unique copy of the poem printed as a sample. If the text they use in printing has not changed yet, the poem is a very cheerful text. If I remember correctly, he was explaining the secret of happiness for a man. So it's not a very long poem. If you are curious about printing, you can buy black aprons with the words “Labore et Constantia” written on them, worn by the printers in the museum, from the souvenir shop at the exit. Be sure to take time to visit.

I was doubtful at the entrance because it seemed like a small museum with only a garden inside. It turned out to be one of the best museums I've been recently. The display takes you through the history of printing, and they have an amazing collection of old maps, machinery, works of arts, books. 10/10 reccomend visiting, is a must if you're in antwerp

The museum is fantastic. Even if you think it might be boring to get to know more about the history of printing, it is absolutely not. The technical details, the books in different languages, the maps, the designs of the letters (like 3D versions of MS Word formats) and the life of the business family in their beautiful home. One can easily spend 2-3 hours there. The museum staff was also very kind.

The main shopping street of antwerp ! This is a must visit street even if you don’t want to shop because it is the best way that links the two main tourist hubs in antwerp, the central station/chinatown/chocolate factory and the cathedral/grote markt/ de scheldt. On top of that it has some of the biggest brands.. a very beautiful pedestrian shopping street 👍🏻 It gets really busy during sunny days ! Watch out from the cyclists.

Great museum and very informative. It’s a shame that this historical building was basically stripped down and modernized on the interior. I suggest adding replicas of things that existed there before, especially on the first floor where it goes through the history of immigration. Seems like a filler room like they didn’t know what to do with the space. Also it was kind of sad seeing the pictures of the hallway leading to the medical examination room, and comparing to how it is now, blocked up with walls for the exhibit. It would be better to try and be historically accurate to the layout of the building, instead of closing rooms off. Also would have been cool if instead of drawing lines on the ground, they had rebuilt the shower and changing room areas for people to see, and maybe add cool information inside the stalls. Also, at the end of the exhibit, it would be cool to have an interactive experience where you can look up a family member’s name that you know immigrated to North America, and see if their name shows up on any former passenger lists. I assume these names are on file somewhere? Washington DC does something similar where you can look up relatives that fought in WW2. Really added to the experience.

Very good museum, it's my fourth time I see it. Don't miss the terrace, you can see the giant dock cranes from above. No need to book in advance, I just bought the ticket at the entrance.

One of the best museums in Antwerp. Very well presented - the history of immigration, the stories of the travellers, their adventures and dreams. I've been there with my kids and they learned a lot.

Loved this experience! Found this museum on a very wet rainy day in Antwerp and glad I did. The personal stories are so interesting and really shows how important emigration was in our society. The fact this museum is in an original location for the Red Star Line only adds to its authenticity and fascination. Free access to lockers where you need to leave your coats and bags. Small gift shop with interesting items.

This museum gives an amazing outlook on the time when lots of Europeans left for the United States. The museum follows the journey from the decision making up to update difficulties they had to face upon arrival. Illustrated with lots of pictures and stories and artefacts from those times.

An informative collection of very moving displays about the procedures for immigration to the USA which shifts the focus from the general to the stories of real people who took the trip. The museum also sets immigration to the USA in the context of migration generally.

They were so kind. Even they prepared some food for Eftar. It was very interesting museum with so many documentaries and photos about immigrants. We had a good time there.

Not so big Museum about refugees. Children friendly: there is a table with chairs at the entrance for kiddos and during the tour there're small boxes on the floor to discover. A lot of different forms of exhibitions, many shapes, light, video, subjects. In one place you can even smell the scent! Awesome!

Visit 4/5/23 in the morning, price for students €6. The museum is very interesting, going into detail about the emigration to the New World / Americas, the passengers last days in Europe and their journey. English translation is not provided for every single image / object, but mainly for the big historical context boards. But at the ticket office they give you a small booklet with the translation and summary of the most important elements in this museum. Some of the videos they show, interview to passengers, are translated, others not. Regardless, this museum is highly Recommended :-)

Nice museum. Beautiful building. Situated at the north edge of the city, close to the MAS, along the right bank of the river. Definitely worth a visit, in an upcoming neighborhood 'Het eilandje'.

Honestly, I can’t give a full review. I arrived in the half-hour before the museum closed and couldn’t get any tickets to the paid exhibition. But there’s a free lift ride up to the top of the giant ship hull. I could look out into the horizon, much like MAS. This experience is complimented with ground arrows pointing towards different large cities.

No matter how hard you’ll try, you won’t be able to leave Antwerp without seeing our beautiful city hall. I am sure your tourist guide has an elaborate article dedicated to this beautiful Renaissance building, which happens to be UNESCO Heritage. Locals call this edifice “‘t schoon verdiep.” In doing so, they refer to the beautiful first floor where the mayor of Antwerp kicks back and relaxes during these harsh economic times. All thanks to Salvus Brabo, a hero with Roman roots. This combatant slew the giant who taxed all the ships seeking to enter the harbour, 50 percent of their stock (even worse than our current government). After a rigorous battle, he cut off the hand from the giant Antigoon and threw it into the river. Given the fact that the behemoth had done the same with the hands of revolting sailors, this repercussion was well-suited. The statue that honours this brave Roman warrior is situated in front of the prime location that houses all of the city’s official receptions and occasional weddings. This legend explains how Antwerp got its name. The two Dutch words “hand” and “werpen”, which mean hand and throwing, were concatenated into “Antwerpen.” Either way, with no giants around, except for the local basketball team, our mayor is at ease. Enjoy wandering around the square in front of this stupendous structure, where my favourite statue is located, and enjoy the view. Try to spot some chopped off hands as well while you are at it.

Grote Markt is the most beautiful place in Antwerp. I have been there at Night. And I must to say what a beautiful night it was!!! 😍 The night view of Old Town was splendid. I really enjoyed to walk through the streets of Old Town. Must visit it at Night. 😉

Very beautiful building located in the grote markt of antwerp city ! It is apart of the central foutain of the square, the main attraction in the area ! The beautiful and colorful flags make it such a pretty building to photograph. The best part is that there are not much tourists around here, at least there were much less than what i expected. Overall very nice sqaure with many shops and cafes around it 👍🏻 Sitting area also available in the grote markt square.

A great display of the European Union with all the flags attached to it. Really catches the eye. Could not enter, not sure if it is open to the public.

The city hall is a beautiful old building decorated with other countries’ flags from around the world. In front if it stands a statue with water sprouting from it in the middle of a square. Along the sides of the square, you’d find cafes, bars and restaurants. It was a very hot day so it was really enticing to have a nice chill session over

Surprisingly nice place. It’s a big square which is made more colourful with the different flags. The musicians give it more of a vibe and there are some restaurants to grab a bite.

Engineering marvel. Being a civil engineer myself, it was an amazing piece of art Belgian people constructed under the river . The old wooden elevator is also fascinating.

It is probably worth coming here just to check out the wooden escalator that brings you to the tunnel. This tunnel itself worth checking out if you're in town and feel like doing some walking. There are pictures that show how they built it throughout which are neat. It is also very nice if you want to get out of the heat. Look out for bikes. I couldn't find a whole lot to do on the east side of the river beyond wander around. There were a number of parks there, seemed like more of a residential area. You get a nice view of the rest of the city from the bank of the river. Antwerp is pretty walkable, so if you're heading down toward the river from the city center, this is worth checking out.

Highlight of the tunnel is the wooden escalators for sure. One of the few left in the world. The escalators were made in the 1930s. They were a novelty then and still are now, thanks to the rarity of wooden escalators. The beautiful woodwork is remarkably preserved, making this a real treat for anyone tired of the modern, more unsightly escalators that dominate pretty much everywhere else.

Coolest pedestrian/bike tunnel I have ever seen. So vintage, almost surreal.

This is a very beautiful tunnel connecting both sides of the scheldt river in antwerp. Lengh is around 500 meters, and the tunnel is rather deep, going underneath the river. Bikes are allowed. The entire experience is free of charge. Everything is very old but also very well maintained. I especially like the wooden stairs !

Amazing place, the tunnel and wooden escalators are really great. Highly recommended to visit when in Antwerp!

Amazing little museum. The tour is about the city of Antwerp and all its treasures. It is very interactive and perfectly suitable for the entire family. It takes about an hour to see and listen to everything. After the tour you can go to the top floor and enjoy a panoramic view of Antwerp. The museum has a little shop as well where you can purchase souvenirs. The staff is very well informed and lovely.

Neat quick free tour of the castle grounds we with a dynamic purpose over time. On a cold rainy day, this is also an excellent stop inside the information center to get warm, sit down, charge devices, and get a panoramic view. There are some ticketed areas. Bathrooms inside only for ticketed customers. Then you can continue the walk alone the harbor.

Great site to see while you're visiting Amsterdam! There's a gift shop (the employees are very kind) and a panoramic view at the top! (If you're able to climb a few flights of stairs, as the elevator only goes part of the way up).

Highly recommended place to start if you just reached Antwerp. It’s like a museum and visitor centre where you learn more about the history, culture and different attractions. We topped up 7 Euro for The Antwerp Story and it was so worth it. The exhibits were interactive and informative. You get to see snippets of the various museums so you know where to start or go because there are just too many attractions.

I stumbled across this place because I was just exploring the city, and didn't know anything about it. I decided it was worth checking out, and took a stroll. I was able to see a great view from the top, and I saw some lovely tapestries and local art that was on display. I didn't have the time (or energy) to read through everything and learn a ton about this place, it was more something I took in casually. Since it is on the water, it's a great destination since it makes you walk across the city, and you have a wonderful view. If I didn't come here, I wouldn't have walked past other wonderful places on the way back! The people in the gift shop and the various other workers were lovely and very sweet as they explained the building and gave me a very brief history of it, and told me I was free to wander and take a look.

This little castle / museum is so beautiful. It's located next to the river and served as prison, mill and fortress during many centuries. People working there are kind and scenery is wonderful. Will definitely come again next time.

At this stage, it's used mainly as a tourist center giving out information on the attractions of the city. The views from the roof of the building are worth the climb. There are beautiful perspectives on the waterfront and on the roofs of old Antwerp. There are also items to buy at the shop in the building, but they're unreasonably priced.

This was the first museum we visited after reaching Antwerp. Great historical architecture from the Medieval times. Very well maintained. There is a souvenir shop inside. The staff is very well informed and helpful. There’s a cruise terminal which is one of Europe’s biggest ports.

Very nice building, right on the water with a good museum inside and a viewing area on the roof. Good view of the surrounding area, the ferries wheel and historical buildings. Inside it features very modern sleek design. Outside it's rustic and robust medieval fortress style, beautiful during the day and at night. Enjoyed it.

Absolutely stunning architecture! Combine it with some amazing food at Salt & mint, sint norbertuskerk church and dageraadplaats Square for really nice cafes etc...

This place is gorgeous! Haven’t been inside though, it’s kind of a working place but they provide yours I heard. Parking is easy, just park your vehicle at some company’s parking lot, I don’t think they mind. Take warm clothes, it’s windy there!

Absolutely beautiful church. The wood carvings are detailed and exquisite, the ceilings are high, the organ is massive, and there is a very peaceful calm atmosphere although it is a large building. The sculpture garden outside is unique and interesting! Hardly any other visitors even though it was a weekend. Paid 5 euros for entry as a foreigner - very much worth it!

Stunning church with incredible paintings and a very unique and stunning statue garden in the back! The best part of this church are the volunteer guides, they are incredibly friendly and helpful and ended up giving me a 45 minute tour ◡̈ They are also open on weekdays from 2-5 I believe!

I would consider this the best and most worth church to visit in Antwerp. Although there is a small fee to enter the church (3-5 euros), the interior is wonderfully decorated with gold and white, giving it a clean look. There are numerous statues and paintings within the church, and also a treasury with priceless artefacts to discover. Finally, there's a wonderful statue park at the back of the church which is amazing in itself. It's pretty serene when there is nobody around so feel free to snap some photos! Compared to the other churches in the area, this church is by far the most impressive. Only real issue is that its only open on the weekends in the afternoon during winter time, so be sure to visit Antwerp during that period!
