Wow, wow, wow. Excellent castle visit to the Imperial Castle. Located at the top of a hill, overlooking the city of Nuremberg, the Imperial Castle is reached after a serious climb uphill. Not difficult for the fully able ,it is a long rather arduous slog up to the courtyard. *******,Handicap VERY difficult , if not impossible, not made any easier by the cobblestone road .*********( that said, I did see a gentleman with a walker!!!) The museum entry is 7 Euros, 6 if you are a senior or a student. Wow----super excellent presentation and displays of the medieval history of this castle 🏰. Armaments, armor, clothing, artifacts, explanations and visuals were superb. One of the best. Great value for the money!!!! Restaurant in the courtyard BEST VIEWS OF NUREMBERG. PHOTO OP ++++++!!!!!! Quite a beautiful little castle. Really great museum. Would recommend getting the combination ticket as the view from the top of the tower is really great and the deep well tour is quite a different experience. They also got a couple of eateries on site.

It was amazing to visit this imperial castle of Nuremberg. The constructions were protected with 3 layered thick wall with around 10 ft thickness and 2 stages of different heights. The tunnels, the rooms, the towers, the gardens, the dungeons, the underground pathways designs and the city view points were awesome to see. I felt like I entered in the Game of Thrones series.

Amazing medieval castle that have been kept so well. This is truly a castle with super strong defense. Not far from the city center market, easy to walk to. Free to walk into it and there is a good view of the old town. Even though Nuremberg was 90% destroyed during WWII, the old town was rebuilt and restored according to the pictures they had of the old buildings and structures. So, much of the history is preserved. Otherwise, if they had decided to build everything new, there would not be not much of the past left to see. Very impressive old town city market with a gorgeous fountain and church, and you can buy fantastic food, flowers, gingerbread cookies…. If you are a WWII history fan, then you have a lot more places to see. Really worth visiting.

Navigating the city is convenient; everything is within a 30-minute walk from the center, allowing you to discover hidden gems like bridges, churches, and historic buildings along the way. The castle itself offers free entry and plenty of areas to relax. Exploring its various sections, like the converted horse stables and food storage areas, is best with a knowledgeable local guide to delve into its history. Though it requires a bit of uphill walking, the panoramic view from the top makes it all worthwhile, showcasing the city's landmarks and beauty.

This iconic castle is likely more interesting from the outside than the inside. Due to destruction during WWII, most of the interiors are redone as a museum. The anvient weapons and armor displays are nice. Climbing up the tower was fun and offers great views. The deep well guided tour was the best part thanks to the enthusiastic and engaging guide.

Amazing place and lots of tours to take. This has a great history and the Old Town is filled with attractions and old buildings, churches, hospital and nice walks. The castle is historic and you can get breathtaking views. I took a few great pics.

Another stop on our city walking tour. End of September 2023. There is no charge to go through the grounds. Took us about 20min to visit. The buildings are beautiful to see, and the views from the top are spectacular! Definitely worth walking up.

Less stairs in the tower than St. Augustine’s Light house (St. Augustine, Florida USA). Beautiful piece of history- we spent the afternoon! A must see- most of the displays information is in German- spring for the audio it’s worth it!!

Very impressive castle. A capital of European Kings from 11 till 16 centuries. Place where Holy Roman empire was ruled from. Building itself is really big on the top of the hill. Views around are amazing. Very strongly recommended!

Historical landmark & museum with commanding views out across the city. This is a must visit attraction if you’re in the city and would like to know about its foundation. Excellent exhibits, some interactive with translations available. Has a reasonably priced cafe and some gardens for relaxing in too. It can be a bit of a slog getting up the hill though. There may be accessible ways to get there that I did t see.

Great views of the old city from here. There’s a nice cafe and gift shop at the top. It’s worth the walk up for the views and the way back down is dotted with great places to eat and drink. Definitely recommend this if you’re in town.

….Its was a real steep walk to get to the top as the Castle 🏰 is on one of the highest points of Nurnberg! Very impressive to see how well it’s preserved and maintained! And it has many tower and you can observe it from different angles…there bars and restaurants where one can enjoy foods offered! This is a sprawling wonder. You can wander around the grounds, inside and out, for hours. There are many small and large secrets to discover. And much light a good piece of art, it changes dramatically with the light of day and night.

The well tour is very good and a must do, the tower has great views and the pictures of the WW2 damage are a great addition - The museum itself has good info on the building and its years and associated history, better than I expected and staff very friendly

Very pretty, caring lots of history. I was a bit disappointed that the crown was a 3D model and not something that would replicate best the real ones, but that’s understandable. Not all the things inside the museum has an English translation, but it’s worth visiting the museum!

It has a really good view of the city. View point is open all the time,but the castle is closed on holidays and the weekend. Spent the new years eve here, and the view point was very much crowded.Inside it has a museum, a deep well, and a tower where you can take a better view of the city.

I still can't believe that the castle is still in such good shape after the Second World War. Breathtaking, massive, magnificent. When you go up to the top and look out over the town, you get a sense of why they built the castle where it is. I cannot get over how impressive it is. Also, Nuremberg is still surrounded by the great city walls. It takes about an hour to walk around them. That's the great thing about the city. You can walk anywhere and it never takes more than 30 minutes to get to the other side of the city centre. Best of all, while you are exploring the city on foot, you will find many other gems on your walking adventure. From bridges to churches and other lovely old buildings. Enjoy!🏰✨️ Little tip: During weekdays you can enter the inside of the castles for free. That is in the morning until 10am or so

A whole tour area, if you are not interested in the museum can only buy tickets to the castle, the scenery is very good, need to climb the stairs.

This is a beautiful place to visit. It has a very steep cobbled path leading up to the entrance and a lot of steps inside. I bought the combination ticket which was worth it. The castle is well presented inside with educational displays. The tower is 112 steps up a spiral staircase, but the views from the top were beautiful. The tour to the well was funny and fascinating. The tour guide knew his stuff.

I recommend several breaks for fresh air like me if stuff like this can weigh you down. Several tours walked through while we observed, read, contemplated, interact with displays, and processed all this information ℹ️. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, it is alright to not know something. We are all here to learn. Time should be taken if distractions tend to be a problem, because I have issues staying still at all moments. There is a lot to take in and it’s easy to miss things. Take pictures, ask questions, and be willing to listen 🎧 👂 .

Amazing cathedral with Gothic style architecture. The building is clearly visible in this small town with few tall buildings. The twin towers looked massive from a distance, and even more imposing up close. Inside is richly decorated. There are many religious artifacts, paintings, sculptures, and relics. Definitely worth visiting if you are in the area. There are also many street vendors selling great foods outside. This entire area is very pedestrian friendly.

The Frauenkirche is a true treasure! Its historical importance and stunning architecture make it an essential destination. Rebuilt after the war, it's a delight for history and architecture enthusiasts alike. Apart from its scenic views, the area hosts numerous talented street performers. It's worth taking the time to appreciate their efforts to make a living. Visiting this church in Nuremberg was a treat for both history and architecture lovers. Although crowded on weekends, it's still worth the wait to enter. Located in the old town area, its towering spires and intricate design are impressive. Inside, the high ceilings and detailed interior add to the experience. Donations are encouraged, and there's a shop and information boards to learn more about its history. A worthwhile stop on the way to the castle area from the main train station.

Very large with a high ceiling. Here you can specifically see how kings where different from serfs. How they built structures. And how they differ to now. It's a great experience to be in a place that's older than the whole united states twice over.

The magic thing about the St. Lorenz (St. Lawrence) Church is its amazing rebuilding/restoration after it was almost completely destroyed during WWII. The church is wonderfully ornated. It is a true architectural gothic-style building. However, there aren't many people visiting it, and the walk-in is pleasant and relaxing.

The Lorenzkirche is in the heart of the old city walls of Nüremberg. It chimes and reminds people what time of day it is no mater what part of the old town your in. Around Christmas time some of the best Christmas markets can be found in all the streets and market place area around the Church. This is a visually beautiful area of Nüremberg and the Christmas markets are a bonus, they truly are a annual treat.

I really liked this Gothic style church. Inside you will find one of the most important works "Angel's Greeting" by Veit Stoss, Madonna and Child from the 14th century and a sacramentarium created by Adam Krafft.

The church was originally built as a three-aisled basilica in the Gothic style around 1250, then expanded by an imposing late Gothic hall choir between 1439 and 1477. It was seriously damaged 😔 during the Second World War and it took about seven years to restore it.

It's one of the churches that must be seen in Nurnberg because it's old and with an impressive architecture. I attended a Christmas concert there and the acoustics was perfect.

Such an immersive experience back through time, honoring not just the artist and the time period he represents, but which also examines how he has affected subsequent generations and art forms. Our children got a great crash course on the "first graphic artist," and we adults enjoyed learning details we hadn't known before, making this an ideal stop for beginners and art buffs alike. Entry fees are very reasonable--even students and backpackers can afford this--and the gift shop across the street offers easily transportable memories to take home. Kids get a little "voucher" to claim a "gift" at the end of the self led tour, a postcard at the gift shop. The audio tour is included in the entry cost and is easy to operate. Photos are allowed everywhere except the top floor where they have original Dürer prints on display. Small children will not enjoy this. Recommend 12 and up.

A must for the history or art lover in Nürnberg. Anyone who has spent time inan aet museum will recognize Albrecht Dürer. The fact that Nürnberg has managed to preserve the Dürer family house is amazing. The museum itself appears to be more geared to history in the period during his life rather than the art.

Pretty cool place. Our family with four kids got in for 15 euro. The people at the front weren’t very friendly…but we are in Germany. Be warned, though, nothing in the building was an original. Not even how furniture was or placed. The audio guide was very informative and repeated this a few times. Can be done within an hour.

Okay I am a big Albrecth Durer fan, so for me this was a fascinating trip around the house of the master. A lot of effort has been put into getting a small museum right. I found the staff quite helpful.

Probably one of my favorite museums I've visited. If you're a fan of Dürer this is a must visit. It's just a shame that there wasn't alot of his original works. The staff was very friendly and the audiotour was informative. It's nice that they did have some copy's of his work so that you do get an idea of the masterpieces he created. The building itself is very fascinating as well.

You will learn a lot about Durer and the time period when he lived in Nurnberg. Also, the history of the museum’s establishment was interesting, recommend for art and history lovers

The house of the great artist Durer, survived the bombings, and can still be seen today. Albrecht Durer was perhaps the most accomplished of the Northern Renaissance artists and spent the latter years of his life working in Nuremberg, in a house near the shadow of the castle. The house was preserved over the years and has been opened to the public. Very little furnishing from his time remains, but the structure itself is wonderful, and the museum there is small but worth visiting.

Good experience! Albrecht Dürer's work is impressive. There is some of his original work on the top floor of the house which is fantastic. The house was somewhat interesting, however, other than the kitchen, it is unknown what use each room actually had back when Dürer lived there. So, rooms are just staged as they may have been.

I can say so - if you go there, don't be greedy for 4€ or an hour of your time - join a guided tour (I saw they have audio guides as well). The tour was very, very interesting and professional, and also just entertaining! I enjoyed the museum, but I also see that without the tour it wouldn't be as interesting, many historical details and related stories would slip away :)

A must see place if you visit Nuremberg. They have done a wonderful job here and show his studio where he worked as well as showed many of the processes he used to produce the work that he made. It was quite an education adventure and I really enjoyed seeing the curated items around the house with a wonderful audio guide to listen to it. I wish we had more time but our trip was short and I could definitely come back and visit this place again.

It was wonderful to go back in time and not only see his art, but too see how the wealthy lived at that time. Absolutely beautiful house and lovingly arranged art gallery of Durer's work.

Very nice monument. We visited it on 1.5., so maybe that was the reason of not many people there. You can learn a lot about the trial, but also other things connected to the war crimes. I can recommend for a stop on your route, you can do it in 1 hour.

It's definitely interesting to see the venue of the Nuremberg trials if you're in the city. But you can only see the courtroom and another room with a looot of information, not much more further objects, rooms or prison cells. I would create a 'fast track' circuit so that you don't have to listen to everything in your Audioguide for 2 hours if you're not a history freak but just the basic stuff. The entrance fee of 5 EUR per adult is cheap. But it's a must when in Nuremberg.

Before visiting the courtroom 600, I have visited the documentation centre earlier on the same day. Nobody has ever told us about any discount. On 9 March, at around 4.20pm, we entered the building and walked over to the empty counter. This lady over the counter looked at us and said “yes?”. We told her that we would like to have 2 tickets. She asked if we’re students and we said no. She told us the amount to pay. After paying, I asked her “if we have visited the documentation centre” and she cut me off immediately by replying “how would I know if you had gone to the documentation centre”. We replied that we have a receipt, and she continued to ask “how would I know?. We were freaking taken aback and confused by her attitude and tone because firstly, we didn’t know that there is a discount, secondly, I merely wanted to understand by asking her about it, thirdly, she cut me off before I could even finish my sentence. Seriously it’s just extra 9 euros. It’s no big deal, you don’t have to be so freaking rude. If you don’t want to refund, it’s fine, I don’t really care because I didn’t even know about the discount in the first place. The information on the paper that is taped to the counter was not clear at all. It merely stated “for 3 euros, you have have a day pass blahblahblah”. We told her that we’re just asking a question and she pointed to the paper and said “you already read it”. ??????? If I can understand the information on the god damn paper or if you would have bothered to open your mouth then of course I will not be asking a question. I hope the customer service team will look into the attitude of this staff. This is a tourist location for goodness’ sake. I was very kind and excited to enter the courtroom and swear that I truly did not know about any bloody discount. I do not appreciate this attitude but thanks for the refund of 9 euros.

A thought provoking facility with a lot of useful information and exhibits. One can still feel the energy from years prior. This will remain an important part of human history. There ia so much to experience in the museum.

An interesting place to step into- very much would recommend doing the tour, which helped bring everything together. It was perhaps a little brief and left a lot of questions unanswered that are related to the trials, but that did allow it to focus on the moment the courtroom took center stage.

The only view of the court room is through an upstairs window, you can't go in currently. Some of the audio isn't guide isn't available in English. As you can't visit the courtroom you're better off not going at the moment, nothing there you can't find on Google/YouTube

The zoo itself was really nice, they had a lot of different animals but.. I'm pretty disappointed that all of the information was only in German so I didn't really get anything out of it.. Sadly there weren't any feeding shows at the time of my visit :<

Had amazing time at the zoo. It's so big so many animals to see. Many play grounds their restorants bathrooms and ofcours animals. We spent 3 hours in the zoo you can spend even more. Amazing 😍

I visited here in late November after a light snowfall and there was almost no one in the park. There were still plenty of animals to see and the Zoo was much bigger and nicer than I expected. Highly recommend.

Loved this zoo, animals look healthy and happy. Enclosures favored natural habitat with lots of hiding places rather than open. This does mean you miss some animals as they sleep but to me it is worth it. Easy online tickets and Covid registration. I was through the entrance in less than 15 seconds. Several good options inside. Need it to re-energize after the long hike through the park.

Beautiful zoo in Nuremberg. Great for spending a day with the family. Many species of animals. Highly recommended if you are in the area. Journey time: about 60-80 minutes

The best zoo I've ever visited. Consider that you need at least half a day to see it all. There is a lot of animals to see, you will spend a lot of time in nature here so it can be a nice family trip. At the entrance you can rent pushchairs for children if they get tired of walking, because you will be walking a lot here

Beautiful Zoo. Pretty empty during weekday (even though the summer holidays had started this week). We really enjoyed the time there. The only negative thing is that the Manatees house was closed (ongoing reconstruction) 😔

A most wonderful and beautiful zoo. We had about 3 hours there with our 18-month-old daughter--another 30 min would have been great. Lots of really close encounters with beautiful and wonderful animals, and a fun train around the zoo (which had a storage car for strollers). There are a couple of good restaurant locations for resting and refueling. What's so special about this zoo is that it is secluded in the woods. So, top-quality city zoo accessible by the 5/11 tram from the Hbf, but in beautiful woods.

Beautiful Zoo situated in a huge park. One day is not even enough to see and experience everything. I cannot choose what was our favourite. The Manatee house is a must, as well as the Dolphin lagoon with dolphins and sea lions swimming together, feeding and show(off)s. On the other end of the park there is a ‘Aquapark’ for penguins, otters, sea lions, seals and polar bears - all visible also from under water through glass walls. On every corner there is a different kind of play ground. Mini-train on one side of the park for small and big kids 😉 Buffet/restaurant on both ends. You can also book a guided tour for a small group to your favourite animal (seasonal and not all animals are included) or a night visit. There is a Kids education center offering courses.

This was my first time visiting a Zoo and I was very impressed! Beautiful variety of animals and they are actually looking happy! The Show with Delphine's also made me tear up of joy ! Just beautiful!

We had a really nice day. It's a beautiful zoo, plan to spend at least 4 hours here.

Probably visiting in the middle of winter is not ideal but it was a great experience. We spent approximately 3 hours and we would probably need at least 2 more hours to see everything. The place is massive with many animals in fairly large enclosures, a male lion and a tiger the only exception noticed. What is really amazing though is the landscape and the feeling that you are walking through a forest with the occasional animals on your path. A great place to spend the day with your family.

One of the oldest churches in the Europe. It was initially built in the 13th century. Gone through many renovations and changes. After the World War 2 the church was severely damaged. Later after few years it was rebuilt and remodified. You have an entrance in the front . As in the time of pandemic , a mask and social distancing have to be maintained inside the church.

A beautiful church with a little bit of unique history. The mechanical clock mounted to the front commemorates the golden bull of 1356 which required newly elected HRE emperors to hold their first diet in the city.

One of the most unique brick Gothic architecture churches that stands on the eastern side of the main market in Nuremberg. A huge one with a great artwork in its facade. You can find numerous works of art from the middle ages kept inside the church such as the so-called Tucher Altar. It is famous with its mechanical clock that commemorates the Golden Bull. A must visit if you are visiting Nuremberg specially on Christmas season.

Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady) is a 14th-century Gothic church located at Hauptmarkt in the city centre of Nuremburg. It is open from 9am to 6pm daily. This is one of the nice church visits you can make with sightseeing around the city. The exterior is enjoyable to view. The facade includes a gable with small spires and other Gothic features. It includes the famous Männleinlaufen, a mechanical clock that performs at noon each day commemorating the Golden Bull of 1356. Inside the church, you will find more traditional Gothic features including a narrow nave, vaulted ceiling, attractive stained glass windows, lots of sculptures and some artworks that are enjoyable to view. In the end, smaller in scale and size to the landmark St. Sebald and St. Lorenz churches, Frauenkirche was probably our third favourite to visit during this trip to Nuremburg. There is enough to see here for 15-20 minutes of impressive sightseeing. Would definitely make time for this attraction if you enjoy historic church visits during your travels.

Frauenkirche or " The Church of Our Lady" is an example of brick Gothic architecture, and it was built on the initiative of Charles IV, Holy Roman Emperor (reign 1346-1378) between 1352 and 1362. The church contains many sculptures, some of them heavily restored. Numerous works of art from the Middle Ages are kept in the church, such as the so-called Tucher Altar (c. 1440, originally the high altar of the Augustinian church of St. Vitus also in Nürnberg). The church was built in the grand market, in place of the former Jewish synagogue, which was destroyed during the Nürnberg pogrom (Jewish persecutions of 1349) which followed an outbreak of Black Death. Charles IV wanted to use the Frauenkirche for imperial ceremonies, which is reflected in the porch with the balcony, and in the fact that the church is relatively unadorned except for the coats of arms of the Holy Roman Empire, the seven Electors, the town of Nürnberg, and the city of Rome, where the Holy Roman Emperors were crowned. Construction of the church continued until the 1360s. Charles IV's son Wenceslas was baptized in the church in 1361, on which occasion the Imperial Regalia, including the imperial reliquaries, were displayed to the people. References to Wenceslaus can be found throughout the sculptural program of the church. Beginning in 1423, the Imperial Regalia was kept permanently in Nürnberg and displayed to the people once a year on a special wooden platform constructed for that purpose. The current west gable of the church dates from 1506-8. Historic images show that this gable was once richly decorated with sculptures which were presumably destroyed in the Reformation. In 1525 the church became Lutheran and galleries were added in the aisles. One of the most notable features of the church is the Männleinlaufen, a mechanical clock that commemorates the Golden Bull of 1356. The clock was installed in the church between 1506 and 1509. The Holy Roman Emperor is shown seated with the prince-electors surrounding him . The clock mechanism is activated at noon when a bell is rung to start the sequence and is followed by the trumpeters and drummer. Then there is a procession of the electors around the figure of the Holy Roman Emperor.

Beautiful architecture from middle ages. It is magnificent in late afternoon in the orange of sunset.

Though closed for renovations in the summer of 2023, the Frauenkirche's Gothic architecture remains a sight to behold. Its exterior facade, adorned with intricate details and soaring spires, exudes a sense of grandeur and reverence. While unable to explore the interior, the church's exterior alone is worthy of admiration, showcasing the dedication and artistry of its construction.

Includes beautiful examples of both antique and modern toys from Germany and around the world. Interesting displays. Without children, you'll be there a couple of hours tops to see everything. There are also rotating exhibits.

Went there with 2 kids (13, 11). The entry fee is minute, the entrance hall is very promising - and with that unfortunately the best parts are over already. I know it's a privately run museum and probably the owners are missing the funds to refresh it, but in 2022 cramping as many artefacts into a large display as you can and adding short titles under them is not enough to grab the kids' attention. There were barely any interactive elements and while I recon that the region has a rich history in designing and producing toys, the way it is presented is very outdated. Practically I wouldn't recommend this museum for kids who nowadays spend most of their time on their phones, as they will just run through in 20 minutes without taking away anything. A bit better suited for their parents who are still keen to read.

Good place to be, and see even for adults. Entrance price is fair. It has a wheelchair accessible entrance and an elevator. Audioguides available. Locker for bags and jackets at the entrance. Nice small souvenirstore.

History of the toys made me feel the history of the Germany.

What a wonderful museum. It is focused on toys of course, especially in Germany and especially in the 19th and 20th centuries, though of course other areas and times are covered. Truly amazing pieces are on display, with helpful information, which will leave you more knowledgeable and in wonder at our propensity to take play so seriously. I think this museum does an incredible job at being kid-friendly while also displaying traditional museum pieces. In nearly every room, there is something fun for kids to play with at their level, in addition to the play area upstairs. This means getting through the whole museum with a small child is fun; you do not need to rush through the informative parts to get to the play part.

Although large, you can see it somewhat comfortably in an hour (in case, like me, you can only get to it near closing time). There are toys from many corners of the world and across several decades. Some are interactive which is nice. There are also paintings on the stairways which are also quite nice to enjoy. Most plaques and explanations have an English translation, but not all. Price is very fair considering how rich and well kept this museum is, definitely will come back.

3 floors of old toys and a doll houses. Good museum of of 100 years of german toys. And there is also a really huge old train model track that is really old.

Nostalgic, spell-binding, and prolific collection and informative 3-level museum with bonus bubble-gum special exhibit. Amazingly priced. Like a time machine for many older patrons I imagine. Placards in English as well. Here's hoping the last few generations that have been missing out on real, imaginative, creative play come around full circle so toys such as these are not solely for collectors.

Where else can you see the oldest known globe in the world? So old that North and South America aren't on it! Lots of great historical artifacts here. Plan on several hours to see it all! Great location to local resyamd shopping afterwards.

The presentation of the art and history of Nuremburg is beautiful. I'm disappointed I didn't come here sooner. Recommend watching Rick Steve's video on this museum and other videos to get acquainted first to make sense of it. My favorite is the folk art area, as it has great home decors! So underrated!

I had not enough time to see it all, but it was amazing and beautiful soooooooo much. So if you love history you need to go there !

This is a magnificent place to slowly enjoy every single piece of historical items inside the museum. It is segregated into several sections, so you're likely to know where to go after each. I guessed I was so immersed that I might have taken more than 2 hours admiring the various "story". Take a quick rest at the garden and continue again. Everything was really an eye opener for an Asian like me and it takes me back to imagine how medieval life was. I like the pharmacy representation of the unicorn & also the "modern" instruments back then for medical procedures. Really worth the visit.

This museum is huge. Use your plan to find the way and to choose what you really want to see, otherwise you might get lost in the middle ages. Lots of great pieces on display. Maybe the disadvantage of this museum is, that it is just to big and has a bit of chaotic set up. My favorite part of the museum was the area with 20th century art that has a good set up and collection.

4 hours and were not enough to see everything in this amazing place. Very well organised, staff were very helpful with the only negative being that many explanatory notes were only in German, nothing Google Translate can't handle. Definitely worth visiting again.

My friend and I went to the Lunchtime concert at the Germanisches national museum. Which is held once a month during the Summer. It is fantastic and beautiful and very entertaining 😀 I already we to two shows and waiting for the next one.

If you're visiting the city, you should definitely stop here as it is a well curated museum with lots of history and lots of things to see. Many of the recreated and/or historical artifacts are remarkably well preserved or presented!

A huge museum of Deutsch finds, art and antiquities. They have many many things to see and be prepared to lose at least 1 hour here. A mandatory passage in Nuremberg. I liked the little rooms about medicine and alchemy but also the Medieval weapons&armors room was interesting.

Expansive, educational, entertaining- definitely worth the visit. There is something for everyone, whether you are new to Nürnberg, just visiting and want to devote a day indoors, or have been in Deutschland your whole life! Spend as little or as much time as you want, but be warned- there is a lot to see and learn!

It's a wonderful museum. Clean, big and beautiful. Has a little cozy market. Employees are kind and can speak English. It tooks 2,5 hours to walk through half the halls.

A huge museum full of all things German. I spent hours wandering round the whole collection and my only regret was not getting an audio guide. I did have fun finding the items highlighted on the map tho.

Can't give a real Review. The kind of is not my favorite. But as a Museum for History and viewing collected items from Germans it's great. You can spent dozens of hours there. A painting with the Germania is show on a unrepresentative place on a downstairs end instead at the origin Frankfurt Paulskirche place. I enjoyed a beer an Nürnberger sausages at the museeums restaurant.

Fair family price for a good museum. There is so much that it makes sense to visit the museum multiple times and just visit a small part. The first globe was impressive. It would be good if the opportunity would be used to address how these maps and the map makers contributed to the start of structural racism. Our kids liked the children interactive guide!

Nice museum You can leave your stuff in the locker room it's free. You have historical pieces and artifacs from paleolitical and neolitical till 20 century. I reccomend,also inside the museum is the oldest globus in the world. The ticket is 10 euros per person. The museum is in the old center of town.

Very informative exhibit with detailed coverage of all aspects of the trials. It took a couple of hours with audio guide in English but I was able to learn a great deal. Many exhibits are only in German but the audio guides walk you through the content well.

Very important historically but it won't impress someone who is not already interested in the history of the location. The entry fee includes an audio guide in German/English and a few other languages. You will need this unless you are German because almost all the text in the exhibition is in German only. The courtroom 600 is open most days and at certain hours there is a small "show". I did not get the chance to see this but I believe the times are on the website.

Very interesting place to visit during your stay in Nuremberg, worth visiting for sure. If you’re interested in WW2 history, then plan to stay here for at least 3 hours. The exhibition is very informative and the place itself has a great importance. The audio guide is included in a ticket price.

Museum experience is mostly a walk round the rooms with an audio tour handset. It can however evoke powerful emotions given the nature of who and what was put on trial at this location. Educational even if it’s presented in a very factual fashion. There were lots of schoolchildren on a seminar there and it seemed very crammed.

A small space with lots of information including video of the trials and excerpts from the documents used as evidence. If you listen to every audio station it could easily take 3 or more hours. We were there for ~2 hours and I didn't get through everything. It was extremely busy with little space to sit.

An interesting exposition dedicated to the Nuremberg trials. Good description of exhibits. audio guide available in different languages. every 1.5 hours a video presentation of the history in English. the main court room may be closed during your visit, as the courtroom functions as more than just a museum.

The museum itself is not so big and mostly has pictures and information. Audio guide was very useful but very long as well. Also, you get tired of standing around one set of pictures while listening to 2 minutes of audio. They don't have a lot of seating areas for people to sit and listen. I felt it was not enough visual more audio information. The best parts were the courtroom video and the video at the very end by the Nuremberg Trial Prosecuting lawyer, Ben Ferencz, about the meaning of it today. He died this April at the age of 103.😔

Must see to learn the extensive history of the war, trials, and international relations. There is also a nice video in courtroom 600. I enjoyed the courtroom, the trial results and indictments, and excerpts from the various documents that were used in the trial. Cheap entry, includes audioguide, which mostly works fine. All writing is in German. There are some moveable seats. Could spend 4-5 hours from listening to everything if you don't read German.

It was definitely an experience to be in the courtroom. I was blessed that I came on a day when it was open. I know sometimes it is closed. The fee is cheap and you get an audio guide for english speakers. There is a lot of history here. I had fun listening to it. However, I do think that if you're not interested in it, you'll get bored fast, especially if you don't read German and require a translator device. There's just soooo much to unpack and listen to. It was a worthwhile experience for me that's all I could say

An impressive museum depicting the events during Nuremberg Trials. Well illustrated with audio in multiple languages for rent. Went into the actual courtroom where the trials were conducted.

As an important and meaningful site in human history, it could be better. Hard to imagine that as a world-renowned museum, all the exhibition scripts are in German only. Thankfully the audio guide was provided free in several languages. The audio guide, on the one hand, was rich. The length of the content may last nearly 3 hours. On the other hand, the explanations were very shallow and not vivid. Several sections were only listing the names of the judges from various countries or the defendants, without discussing any conflicts or controversies during the trial. I don't think it makes sense to know "only" the names of participants but lack understanding of the context. After all, this is a super complicated event that we can learn and interpret from so many angles. The introduction of Courtroom 600 was even more messed up. It has already been reconstructed and looked completely different during the Nuremberg trail, and there was no schematic photo or illustrations. When you listened to the audio guide, you will find that the chairs and tables he mentioned were not in the place he described, which can be confusing and misleading. The admission is cheap, only 6€. But I would rather they charge a higher fee and use it to provide a better visiting experience. Overall, I still recommend that everyone should know what happened, but if you already have some basic knowledge of the Nuremberg trials, you may be disappointed by how little new information you get.

U probably will spend a hour or so there … there isn’t really a lot of stuffs .. just a bunch of walls that explains about the Nuremberg trials and all these are in German . U need to grab the English guide kit from the receptionist… but the narration is really slow … overall it’s not a must visit if you are short on time .

Incredibly moving and a worthwhile visit. The audio guides are a great thing and very user friendly. Make sure to check if the courtroom is open before visiting as it can sometimes be closed.

The third time I came Courtroom 600 was open! Third times is a win! The courtroom is offcourse a courtroom, but the atmosphere is incredible! The museum part is very informative, they even have the original benches of the defendants! Must visit!

This was a great stop during my stay in Nuremberg. I bought the 48 hour city pass and stopped here for a visit. It was easy to jump on public transportation to see the court. Upon entry I was welcomed by a very pleasant and friendly staff. They gave me the audio guide equipment and off I went.

So apparently the Nazis justified the genocide in retaliation (when you go there see audio guide number 104). I was always confused how so many of the populace stayed silent on the genocide. The visual experience in the courtroom 600 is amazing and a must see. It has 5 screenings in a day every 1.5 hours, the experience is only 15 minutes so do check out the timings and plan your visit accordingly. They also mention other crimes against humanity in Ukraine, Congo, have excerpts from speeches from UN Secretary General António Guterres.

The audio 'phones' were great for translation of all the information which was extensive on the third floor. The second floor houses the court room where there is a brilliant projected film overlaying original film onto the courtroom. The downside of this museum was extremely unfriendly welcome at reception. We were a party of students but they were all incredibly well behaved and quiet. It was a shame to feel so told off.

Historic place. And museum and exhibitions are very detailed and interesting, where you can follow the history up to the point of Nuremberg trials and its effect on future changes in international law afterwards. Audioguide is provided with the ticket and it is very helpful.

[5.11.23] Went to the musem on Sunday, and it was my first time experiencing audio guided museum and it was worth the time (been here for almost 4 hours)! Now I know the history since the beginning until the end of the trials. This is an important history to prevent it again in the future of the generations.

This church is incredible. There are so many tiny details all over the statues and paintings, you genuinely have to see it for yourself as photos just don't do it justice. A lot of beautiful gold accents, artfully carved details, and beautiful paintings. This is one of our favorite churches so far!

The entrance of the church is facing away from the main road. We stopped by a place for lunch nearby and I had a quick look at the front of the church. It has a really nice crucifix out front. There are also two bell towers with doors under each. I didn't have time to have a look inside but the outside was quite nice. The back of it was also interesting with a carving that is visible from the main road.

I think we would have needed at least a half day to spend here, to really be able to pay attention to every little detail & artwork that the church was blessed with. Everything simply takes your breath away and a guide to have everything explained is very recommended

The Sebalduskirche is the older of Nuremberg's two large parish churches and the oldest (since 1525).the direct proximity of the hall choir of the church to the old town hall already underscores its former importance as Nuremberg's "council church", in which Saint Sebald, the city's patron saint, is also buried. Gothic art, large Organ and St.Sebald Tomb with sculptures in walls what will you witness in the old gothic cathedral.

Worth the visit, the Gothic structure, with incredible carved sculptures and stone work embedded into the walls are impressive. Unlike some churches you are allowed to walk to the back/rear.

Sebalduskirche (St. Sebaldus Church) is a medieval church in the St. Sebald District in the Old Town. Dedicated to the Patron Saint of Nuremburg, this is one of the most important churches in the city. Opening hours are 9.30am to 6pm daily. There is a suggested donation of 2 euro per person for those who visit. The church history dates back to at least the early 13th-century when construction began on a Romanesque style building. Gothic additions to the church were made in the 14th and 15th centuries. Unfortunately, St. Sebaldus was heavily damaged during WWII bombing and had to be restored. We enjoyed the front towers of St. Sebaldus as well as the Gothic exterior features on the north side of the church. Within, you find tall and narrow nave with ceiling vaults. The high altar is attractive, as are the artworks, sculptures and stained glass windows which can be viewed within the church interior. A particularly interesting find is the shrine of St. Sebaldus. This is a delicately created monument, the work of Peter Vischer the Elder and his sons (1508-1519). This is worth finding and spending a few minutes to view and enjoy. Overall, St. Sebaldus is a must-see attraction in Nuremburg if you enjoy seeing old churches and are a fan of history and architecture. It also makes a good complement to St. Lorenz south of the Pegnitz River as well, another church that you should make time for to see.

It is a truly beautiful cathedral in Nürnberg. Inside of Cathedral, there are a lot of paintings and monuments. This cathedral is highly recommended.

Really pretty medieval church with a lot of art inside and out. This place should be conserved and kept beautiful forever. Unfortunately I have not seen any workers or security around the church at any moment of our visit, apart from the workers of the souvenir shop.

An amazing Church with an incredible architecture from outside and inside as well. It is located few steps from the toy museum and very close to the center where the Christmas market is held if you are visiting the city in winter. It is considered one of the oldest Churches there, and names after the patron saint of Nuremberg Saint Sebaldus.

Great to see all of those different types of trains and to learn about the history of the German Railways 🚃 I found it really fascinating to see the royal carriages although the signs were only in German so if you don’t speak the language you won’t be able to understand all the the information given. Furthermore, the outdoor section is closed between October and April but the staff did not inform us about this. Note that you can get free entry when you have purchased the Nürnberg Card.

I really love transport museum and I don’t miss a chance to visit one when I can. This one was really nice and interesting. They even have a Ludwig II train which was impressive. I just wished there was more trains to see and also some translations in English. Some things were only in German which was frustrating.

Great museum with a lot of explanations and history and scale models as well as full-sized replicas. I wished that the exhibits had English translations as I would prefer to read instead of listening to the audioguide. The model train layout was quite a thing to watch.

Very nice Museum, there is an audioguide you can download on your phone (ios/android, Deutsch/ Englisch) and takes 40 min to go through but you could spend much more time. I spent 1:30 ;) Don t forget to visit the open air exhibition, they are several train Model you can see very closely

entrance 9 euros for adults with special prices for groups and free for children. it is very educational for all ages, divided in two floors and follows the history of railway trains from the Adler till Ice 3. follow the map and the history timeline to get the best of the visit. there is special exhibition for the future Db planning and mystery stories from german trains. very organised and professional place. duration of visit 3 hrs with the other two museums.

I really enjoyed visiting this museum. Especially when you're a train enthusiast. The collections are huge, well organized and there is outdoor yard and two halls which show real old trains. But, pay attention that the train yard will not be opened in Winter. Recommended museum when you're visiting Nuremberg.

The museum is amazing..I wasn't expecting it to be so good .. so much to learn about trains and the best part is the 2nd floor play area for the kids with a lot of toys and a locomotive train ride.. the children get a proper understanding on how to buy a ticket and board a train.. It was a good experience..

Very detailed museum with a ton of information and faithful models, both in miniature and full scale. What I loved especially was the display hall with a few locomotives on display with you being able to access some of their cabs. Plus the cutaway model showcasing the workings of a steam loco using LEDs was pretty neat. Every piece of history up to the 2000s is beautifully detailed in this museum with many real sized locomotives to admire around the place. Though I do wish there was a little more on the modern side of the DB. Would've loved to have seen my favorite 185 traxx at the museum.

What an amazing museum! There are so many trains and great information about them. The whole top floor is for toddlers and kids to play and learn (even babies). They also have an awesome outdoor area and you can take a train ride!

The museum exceeded our expectations, my boy was absolutely thrilled and was very hard to convince him that we have to go. If you have the time to read all the information it really tells you the story of the railway and provides very interesting details, nonetheless if you go with the kids you will only have time to admire the beauty of the trains. Keep in mind there is almost an entire floor as playground, consider it when you plan the visit.

Liked it.. Lots of sample model + few real trains. We, including 3 years old kid, liked it very much.. App available in English which guide u through the museum.. 3 floors occupied, big museum with lots of story + video.. Consider 5 hours to complete all 3 floors..

If you do not speak/read German you will want a translation app (or a friend who does), as not all exhibits have English translations. They have a huge modelarium.
