The Jagannath Temple is an important Hindu temple dedicated to Jagannath, a form of Krishna, in Puri in the state of Odisha on the eastern coast of India. Devotees will be allowed to enter the temple from 6 am to 9 pm on all days, except Sunday when it will be closed for sanitisation, said a new order issued by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA). If you bring Panda (Priest) of your own he can make you understand the history behind each and every corner of various temples located inside the premises also he can make your que and your Darshan very easy and short. The architect is marvelous of all the temples inside, Maha Bhog can be purchased inside the premises.

The temple of Lord Shree Jagannatha at Puri is one of the oldest temples of the Hindus; well known all over the world. It is situated on the sacred Mahodadhi (presently known as Bay of Bengal). at latitude 19-19’-17’N and longitude 85-51-’-39’E. It is the most sacred shrine in India. A vibrant and living temple, it occupies a special place in the religious and cultural history of the State of Odisha. Over the centuries, it has attracted many kings, conquerors, religious teachers, devotees and pilgrims. According to ‘Skanda Purana’ the sacred ‘Shree Purushottama Kshetra’ is known as the home of Lord Vishnu and the sacred Vigrahas were installed by Swayambhu Brahma. As per Puranic scripture, King Indradyumna of Malwa, (Central India) a staunch Vaishnavite, constructed a huge temple and installed the four deities with the help of Brahma and other famous saints. It was 1000 cubits high. But the temple collapsed in course of time. It was the foremost temple of Lord Shree Jagannatha. History is silent about the subsequent reforms taken up by the kings in the temple that was originally built by King Indradyumna of Satya yuga. However, descriptions have been made in the Patala Khanda of Padma Purana and Vishnu Purana about the existence of the temple of Bhagawan Purushottama in the said ancient sacred place. It may be mentioned here that, according to ‘Madala Panji’, it wasYajati Keshari the founder of the Soma Dynasty in Odisha, who built the temple for Purushottama Jagannatha on the site of the present shrine. It was 38 cubits high . Another tradition attributes the construction of the temple to Anangabhima Deva, the great grandson of Ananta Varman Chodaganga Deva. But it is established from the epigraphical records that it was Chodaganga Deva (1112-1148 A.D) who built the present temple. The present main temple has four sections, such as Vimana (Sanctum) where in the principal deities are seated on a stone pedestal (known as Ratna Singhashana), Jagamohana (porch), Natamandapa and Bhogamandapa. The temple when originally constructed consisted of a Vimana and a Jagamohana (porch) built in the rekha style and the pidha orders respectively. It is known that the Vimana and the Jagamohana were built in the 12th century and other two viz. Natamandapa and Bhogamandapa were added during the reign of King Purushottama Deva (1461-1495 AD.) and King Prataprudra Deva (1495-1532 AD.) respectively. However, at present, the temple complex of Lord Shree Jagannatha consists of four structures in one axial alignment and faces the east. The temple of Lord Shree Jagannatha is about 214 feet and 8 inches high from the road level. The entire temple premises are enclosed by two big concentric walls. The outer wall is known as ‘Meghanada Prachira’ (665 ft. x 640 ft.) and the inner wall is known as ‘Kurma Prachira’ (420 ft. x 315 ft.). The height of the outer walls varies from 20ft. to 24ft. There are four gates in the outer enclosure. The eastern entrance is known as ‘Singha Dwara’ or the Lion’s gate. The entrances on the southern, western and northern sides of the outer enclosure are known as ‘Aswadwara’ (South gate), ‘Vyaghra Dwara’ (West gate) and ‘Hastidwara’ (North gate) respectively. Hundreds of subsidiary shrines and Mandapas (elevated platforms) ) are there inside the temple premises, , Two Gardens namely ‘Koili Baikuntha’ and ‘Nilachala Upabana’, seven wells, Ananda Bazara, the Kitchen and the Holy banyan tree (Kalpabata) are also there inside temple premises.

This is one of those places you have to see .But it is super crowded,you find less crowds in weekdays . no need to fell into the prey of any panda, just follow the public line and you would be able to do darshan easily. Be careful of the panda's.

Blessed to visit the place. The atmosphere inside and outside is all amazing and full of energy. Huge amount of crowd so you need to plan late evening on working day and avoid weekends. Mobile etc you cannot carry inside and there is a place to deposit the same. Better to get some local connect to get a faster entry.

Place of Lord Jagannath Prabhu. Nicely maintained and taken all precautions for devotees. Anandabazar is a place for Prasad. Flags of the temple are being changed everyday at around 5.00PM. As per Hindu mythology all the temples exists within the premises. Ratha Yatra is the famous festival among all others festivals. Gates of the temple opened at around 04.30AM and devotees can visit upto 10.00PM. A must visited places for Hindus else Tirtha will remain incomplete.

Holly place. Very nice sculpture. Visited early morning Darshan was perfect in the July end. 2-3 hrs. Spent in que around the temple. Mobiles and cameras not allowed inside. Safe luggage shelf with receipt available free of cost. Authorities should concentrate on making Anand bazar more hygienic place with covered food and Prasad item. Mesh covered food items possible.

It doesn't matter if your priority is artistry or divinity, this place will be answer to both of them. Exquisite craftsmanship all through the temple. If you plan to visit then visit with sufficient time to appreciate this structure properly.

Great place for Hindu worship. But over crowded during holidays and auspicious occasions. Old people and children should avoid peak time. Must take Panda assistance for better darshan and understanding the temple's rich history.

Out of the world experience. Everyone knows about the religious significance, the architecture deserves equal appreciation. Visited during both daytime and evening. For darshan, you will have to keep your phone, shoes and leather belongings at nearby shops at 20-30 rupees rate, as these things are not allowed inside. Good place to visit!

A spot where you can find calm in a pleasant setting. The artistic view of the temple is stunning. The temple is completely covered in a red-like texture, which is a sight to behold. It is incredibly large and has temples to different gods and goddesses. Each temple is built in a unique and artistic style. The view of the temple at night is breathtaking. The visit was very serene and blessed... Try to visit temple as early as possible, we have visited at morning 5.30AM. Also don’t go with Mobile phones, phones and cameras are restricted inside. But they have mobile phones lockers outside the temple.

Jai Jagannath, the beautiful and largest temple of lord Jagannath, you can't take the phone, chappal inside, there will be paid stalls on the road side, you can keep it there and the crowd is also too much, just love the pure divinity.

A place were we forget all are tensions,the energy is amazing and peaceful.. loved the temple aura . The temple is one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites. It is also famous because many legends believe that Krishna's heart was placed here, and the material that it is made from damages the heart, so they have to change it every seven years.

Bad crowd management average waiting time in the afternoon is 4-5hrs. No facility of water in the queue. Temple is good once you get to the top you will feel worth of standing 5 hrs in queue. Prasad is available for 50₹ and 100₹. Phone and cameras and shoes are not allowed inside the temple you have to deposit them outside.

The Golden Beach it is amazing. Not too much people, perfectly clean, security guards. In love with that beach. Sure I recommend it. We went to see there the sunset and was magic.

Very beautiful beach in Puri. It's neat and clean and also less crowded. Chairs are available. Bathrooms are also available if you want to take a shower. They will charge rs 20 for each person to maintain the beach but it's worth it. I love this place.

Good nice beach. It's one of the most famous places to be in with crowds all around 24*7. Many shops are here nearby with many different combinations to try out. There is a police watch tower and hotels nearby. Vehicles are not allowed here during peak hours by police. Enjoy, relax and pass quality time with ur near and dear ones here.

One of the best, cleanest and most beautiful beaches in India. This beach is designed the way it has a beautiful park inside the beach. There are chairs available to sit and relax at the beach.

Well, the name says it all, it really is golden and beautiful. A great place to have fun with friends and family. Camel rides, food, local products, everything is available here.You can also rent umbrellas and chair if it gets warm at 100rs/ hour, a little bit costly but gives you the comfort of relaxing and enjoying the waves.

Great beach with an entry fee( please refer to images) and facility for bathing, jogging, sitting etc. Less crowded that the other public beaches and has shower and changing rooms if you decide to bath. There are Umbrellas and chairs available for rent on hourly basis. There is a good cafe outside the beach. Beach is accessible by auto / car/toto. There is also seasonal Sand art festivals happening here featuring local sand artists.

We were in room no 206 which is a four bedded room. It was quite big. The housekeeping staff were quite prompt. Everyday mopping of floors were done. Washrooms were cleaned on every 3rd day. Bed linens were changed on every 3rd day. Room no 209 was a double bed room , very gloomy. The keep up of hotel needs to be done. Reception is quite lazy. Kitchen is outsourced , hence quality of food and service is poor. Billing of food were either less or more. We had to keenly check it every day. Would not want to stay next time.

Good place to stay within a reasonable budget both for AC and Non-Rooms. Swargadwar sea beach is 5 mints walk away. Transports are nearby. I stayed here for 4 days everything was good. Their resturant is also nice. Food's quality is good.

A few years ago the hotel was well maintained. The rooms are large but not so clean. Room service is very good.

Rooms are decent, and location wise it is good. But the worst part is the behaviour of reception. They must learn hotel management first. Misbehaving, threatening, this is not how management works.

I stayed in this hotel when I visited Puri last December, 2023. Room is good, clean, bathroom is fine. Water continuously available. Location is also good. Service is excellent. I mistakenly ledt some personal belongings in the room and came back to Kolkata. With utmost care, they took the responsibility and handed over me those things in their Kolkata head office after few days. I am really impressed. I stayed with my family during my visit and will suggest to stay here and enjoy who are looking for midrange price.

The worst experience I have ever come accross in a tour. Showed some good photos and given 500/- worth room . A bad smell comes from each room. Not even maintained a single furniture, fridge is kept which is of no use and foul smell coming out of it. Bed is broken . Moreover the owner doesn't even know who is checking in and out. Worst. Taken 1 day adv and dint even bother to respond when we given feedback abt our stay. Lost that adv and checked out immediately. Never ever go to Hotel Konark at Swargadwar lane in Puri.

Unhygienic rooms with unclean walls, floor and bedsheets. There aren't covers for the blankets. The bathroom door in one of our rooms don't lock properly, no geyser. The entire property is not maintained. The mopping of floors is done for the sake of it. Please avoid the restaurant here. Food is outsourced. Walk to "Tero Parbon" and have your food there instead.

Tried veg thali and special veg thali, spl veg thali had only added cheap paneer, and posto aaloo had no posto in it, chutney had insect in it. Overall it's a cheap thali cost only 80 bucks, can't expect a lot from it.

This hotel situated beside the kakatua khaja shop. I stayed in this hotel under Calcutta high court recreation club. Rooms are good. Staffs are very good and very helpful. Restaurant with this hotel price is high.

Apart from the that the natural habitat is good and it's a one time visit....

Unforgettable experience . The morning sunrise , was most beautiful , and the catching moment over there. We went from bbsr and we reached there at 5 am morning . Reach by 5 , then u can see the beauty of our nature , the colour of the sky , all was unimaginable. Nothing more in the beach. chandrabhaga beach has always the high tide , so I recommend u to be careful while u go inside water and enjoy there . Don't think it is same as Puri . We can't explain u why , but it is . I will like to mention . Do u like crab ? Sand colour crab ... Not that we get in the market . That kind of crab can be seen if u go far ahead from the crowd . Walk along the bank of the sea , and go a distance , then u can see the crab crawling on the sand .

This is located near puri konark marine drive. This wildlife Sanctuary doesn't have many species of animals to see but you can encounter several plant species. There's a guest house inside the sanctuary. You can reach to a beach from this sanctuary which is quite secluded and less crowd.

Balukhand Konark sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary located in odisha.  Little of the native flora remains. The sanctuary is home to a herd of spotted deers. You can found variety of birds, snakes and reptiles . Got opportunity to visit this place way back in 2018, Sharing few images from that trip

The sanctuary is located on the shore of Bay of Bengal. The place is extremely beautiful and looks heavenly! I have been to that place almost 6 times and every time it was full of excitement. It is about 5-7 kms from the famous Sun temple, Konark. The sanctuary is a dense forest where you can spot deers if you are lucky. The beat part is the road! It is so beautiful with trees making canopy from both the sides. The trees alongside the road is painted white and looks so stunning! While driving from Konark to puri on your left you will experience dense forest, in the front the beautiful road and on the right the vast and mighty Bay of Bengal with it's serene beach. There are few resorts also where you can experience the forest and the environment there with some local delicacies. I would recommend you visiting the place at least once!

A very good ambience of the museum. And very informative regarding the history of konark temple. It's consists of an auditorium in which they show a movie of 20 mins, which is animated one, and it's about the how the konark temple was formed and what was the motive behind it and those things. And in the museum they even have the sculptures and each is having a different significance. And the museum information does not only bound us to historical part but also many architectural, design parameters also which were used while building the temple. Overall i would one should go through the museum first and then go to the temple. And for better understanding of the temple visit to museum is must.

The priests are of very bad people. Each and evry one pressures to pay 100/-per head by different way. Even they will not give you a minute to pray properly. The worst priest are there of the world. I suggest not to visit there or else you will have to carry minimum Rs. 2000/-for that temple. They will rush to you as soon as you reach the temple. One by one will force to enter ae per there direction and step by step they will force you Rs. 100/- to Rs. 2000/-per head. So dont pay single money to them.

We went here to attend an engagement. This temple is famous for conducting any events that needs witness.. The garbgruh has an idol of Lord Krishna and Radha Rani. Nothing extraordinary about this temple. Again take care that you are not tricked into any kind of pooja or offering by priest by taking you to the innermost chamber.

Every priest here robs people 😑. Specially tourists are forced to pay money, I didn't had a pleasant experience there 😑. The temple premises is not that much big, but is beautiful❤. Also Bhagwan ji's idol is very beautiful❤❤.

Puri sakshi gopal Sakshi Gopal: A witness For The Wedding Once, two Brahmins from Vidyanagar, south India, went on a pilgrimage. One Brahmin was young and poor and he served the other who was old and wealthy. They visited Gaya, Kashi, Prayag and Mathura. From there they went to Vrindavan where they visited the temple Of Gopal. The beauty of the Deity of Gopal made them stay in Vrindavan for several days. The old Brahmin was so pleased with the young man’s services that he promised to give him his daughter in marriage. The young Brahmin replied that he only rendered him service to please Lord Krishna, who likes to see His devotees serving the Brahmins. He also argued that the elderly man’s family would not be pleased with his decision since he was uneducated and poor. The old man insisted that no one could make him change his mind, so the young Brahmin asked him to make his offer in front of the deity. They both went in the temple and the old Brahmin made his promise. Then the young Brahmin spoke, “Dear Lord, I may call for you to testify as my witness.” The two men then returned to Vidyanagar. Some days later, the old Brahmin told his family and friends about his promise. Everyone said that he should not give his daughter to the poor man and urged him to break his promise. They did not realize that a poor man can be the best husband if he is a devotee of the Lord. The Brahmin argued that, if he broke his promise, the young man would call the Deity as his witness and Gopal would be very displeased with him. The relatives threatened to commit suicide if the daughter was given away to the young Brahmin. The Brahmin’s oldest son advised him to say that he doesn’t remember anything. He added that the Deity lives far away in Vrindavan. How could He come to Vidyanagar? The father prayed to Gopal, “Dear Gopal, please help me keep my promise and still save my family from killing themselves.” The next day, the young Brahmin came to ask about the marriage but the elderly Brahmin remained silent. His son screamed at the young man, threatening to beat him. The young Brahmin ran away, but the next day he gathered the villagers questioned him, the Brahmin said that he did not remember making such a promise. His son stood up and said, “This boy is a thief. He stole my father’s money while on pilgrimage and now he is claiming that my father promised him his daughter.” The villagers did not know whom to believe. The young Brahmin told them about the witness Gopal. Then the old man admitted that the young man was telling the truth

Main Sakhigopal temple is located in Sakhigopal, so I think this is a replica of that temple. Temple is so sacred. However maintain safe distance from the pandas as they are ready to cut the pockets.

The poor boy prayed to the Lord, and Krishna, in the form of Gopal, the cowherd, appeared to him. He agreed to come as his witness but with a condition. The young boy was to walk ahead, and Gopal would follow. But if he looked back, Gopal would stop where he was. The young boy agreed. He led the way towards his village keeping an ear out for the sound of following footsteps. As they walked over a sandy part, he couldn’t hear the footsteps, and in an anxious moment, he looked back. Lord Krishna at once turned into stone. The poor boy was devastated. However, he ran to the village and brought the villagers back with him. They were stunned to see the life-like statue of Gopal and agreed to get the couple married. They also built the first temple to the Lord here, calling him ‘Sakshi Gopal,’ meaning the Lord who was a witness. This temple was built in the 11th century. Krishna, in the form of Gopal, looks ethereal, and on his side stands Radha. This bronze idol of Radha was installed later since it is believed that Krishna should have Radha by his side. Today people believe that the Lord is still present here, withnessing all the events.

The temple is having boundary wall.The whole year there is no crowed in the temple one can have darshan very easily. During the month of Ashadh in Shuklapaksh Dwitiya there is procession of lord jagannath ,Balabhadra and Subhadra in three different chariot from main temple of lord jagannath to Gundicha temple pilgrims with lot of dedication and devotion pull the strings of chariot till the Gundicha temple. The procession begin from morning and end in the evening at Gundicha temple. These three chariots are remain out of premises of Gundicha temple whole night next day in the morning taken inside the temple.There are two gate of Gundicha temple. The distance from Jagannath temple to Gundicha temple is 3.5 km. This temple remains open only during the 7 days of the Rath Yatra festival. When lord Jagannath is in their 'Mashir bari', the temple is opened for devotees to enter. Apart from this time, the temple remains closed and no one is allowed to enter. Car parking is available in from of the main gate of the Gundicha temple. No electronic items, ornaments, mobile, belts, shoes or any kind of leather items is prohibited inside the Gundicha temple.

If you are visiting puri for Shree Jagannath temple then you should visit this temple also. It is 2.6 kilometres from Shree Jagannath temple. Inside this temple there is also a museum . It was renovated in the year 2023 . I visited this temple during Bahuda Yatra and it was decorated very beautifully and outside this temple the Chariot's were looking fabulous. It was very difficult at that time to go inside the temple because of the crowds. But I was able to visit this temple . It is a must visit place in puri.

It was closed when we visited. It is a temple of Gundicha Maharani, the queen of King Indradyumna the founder of the 1st Jagannath Temple. The temple is located right next to the Jagannath Temple and is popularly referred to as His aunt's house because when the Rath Yatra festival takes place, Lord Jagannath is shifted to the Gundicha Temple for seven days. It is also known as the Garden House of Lord Jagannath as it is located in the middle of a beautiful garden. Gundicha Temple has some interesting legends related to it. According to one legend, Gundicha, the queen of the King Indradyumna, was a great devotee of Lord Jagannatha. Because of her deep devotion, Lord Jagannath promises her to come to her house during Ratha Yatra. Another Legend says that Gundicha Ghar is the house of Lord Krishna's adoring aunt Gundicha. It is believed that their aunt gives a welcome to the three siblings with a special delicacy made of rice called 'Padoapitha'.

The ques are being follwed. The phones, shoes are not allowed inside the temple. Kheer bhog is a must have if you are visiting the temple. The temple has great mythological importance in Hindu culture. It is believed that when Lord Jagannath falls sick after snan purnima his presence is felt here in Alarnath temple. So whoever wants to see lord Jagannath in between Anasara ghar days can visit the alarnath temple.

This temple is named as Alarnath Dev. Inside the temple you feel spiritual, the temple is good looking. Lots of visitors from odisha and outside coming to take a look of Alarnath Dev in the time of Anavasar.

We have booked the most expensive room (#402) in this hotel which cost around Rs.3300 per day but the following services we have received 1. Tea is costing Rs.35 but it was just a tea bag inserted in a poor milk. 2. No room cleaning was done, even after asking for the same they put different excuses 3. Bed sheet, pillow cover, towel was not changed on day basis. 4. We have spend 3 nights in this hotel with out kids. Because of some oil mark on bed sheet they are asking Rs.1000 for it at the check out time. Which we denied to pay. So please be careful while booking at this hotel. Money is yours.

Pathetic hotel, pathetic management and hotel staff, I would never ever recommend this hotel, please avoid this property. Hell lot of issues, like power supply, no backup genset, worst behaviour of the team. Think 10 times before booking this hotel. Even after not providing AC in the room, they charged me for full 3 days. Going to consumer court for harassment.

Beware of booking this hotel, these people are fraud. I booked this hotel through booking app and a person called and told me that we will provide a sea beach balcony view but the truth is the rooms are behind the main lane and hardly you will have any sea beach view. I even paid advance amount for the booking. Once I reached the hotel and saw the rooms had no sea beach view. I immediately spoke to the manager about the confirmation of sea beach view over call for which he straightly denied that he don't know who called me. I called the number from which from I got call for refund. The guy threatened me and abused me over call. I immediately dialed 112 helpline and called police for this fraudulent practices. The guy whom I spoke was called over by police and upon coming infront of police , he had no fear and instead threatened me that I am in Puri and I won't be spared by him. Even he told me that we don't need tourists from outside since still we will be able to get business. Because of police intervention I was safe else who knows what would have happened to me . But even police didn't help me get my refund for booking. Nor police took any action on the guy. I even had call recording confirming sea beach view and made police hear the call but still didn't get help for refund. The guy is a goon and would not recommend to book this hotel to anyone. Dont rely on pictures provided in Booking app as they are fake. Instead use reliable platform like Airbnb. I lost my booking amount and had to book else where on an urgent basis and faced lot of inconvenience. Also there are many more negative reviews about the hotel which are true and peope had similar experiences like me. I am glad that I visited this hotel with friends instead of family since with family it will be more difficult to deal with the situation I faced.

We booked 2 double bed rooms with personal balconies.very clean bed sheets and pillow covers.they clean the rooms regularly.the foods taste were awesome..rice quantity 2:3.But the fan regulator of one room was not working. Very good lift service.We got good wifi service.the location was a little bit away from the crowd of the Swargadwar.those who like to stay peacefully this location is just for them.the beach was just 5mins walking distance.we can see the beach through the balcony..the behaviour of the people was very good.we would like to go there again.

The most awful hotel we have ever met for many years travelling around India! Disgusting and rude behaviour or the hotel owner and manager who is always smoking, eating meat, shouting on clients, fighting with personal till 2 am at night! They also have huge electricity problems and even if u pay for ac room, u will not get neither working ac, nor even working fan or a simple light switched on in ur room. Owner is also a great cheater and cheating for money!!!! Be careful! Would never and ever recommend anyone to come into this hotel! Run from them in other direction 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢

I visited puri for darshana of maa Bimala as it is one of the four adishakti peethas. Once you are out of jagannath ji temple on right there is Bimala devi. There is not much rush in the morning, just pray from outside looking at devi instead of getting in the rush near devi as the pandits do not allow you to pray peacefully if you do not buy their stuff and get their blessing. The devi decorated nicely by afternoon. She is beautiful. Ask me for any questions.

The temple is amazing and divine being a Shakti peetha... You need to visit this temple first before visiting Shree Jaganatha. However my advice would be to not engage with the priests as they are greedy for money... They will rip you apart top and bottom if you fall prey to them... Give what you feel like giving... They may demand thousand. If they force you, tell them you will complaint and their licence to operate in temple will be gone...show them that you know about this. Then they will keep quite. And don't worry, their curses and all don't work as God Jaganatha is seating there with his eyes open and protecting us all along...trust the God of Puri and not these pandas...

The pandits in this temple are really greedy about money and do not care about the devotees. Behaved very badly with us so It was not a good experience here. Moreover the area near the shivling was not clean and maintained. If you plan to go just for the Darshan, make sure not to ask any of these pandits to accompany you as that's their tactics to charge money in the name of "Dakshina".

Neat and clean place well maintained, all associate persons are well behaved, the environment itself is divine amd spiritually peaceful, having a beautiful pond, near by foodstalls present.

Ancient shiv temple. You can not take mobile etc so keep it in a locker available outside. There is a public bus starts from here to the puri temple. Fare is just 15 Rs. Where as I paid to e rikshaw 100 rs from light house to the temple.

As soon as you enter the main gate, they will ask you to pay ₹ 20 each for bringing prashad/phool/nariyal with you to worship God. And if you aren't bringing anything, they will ask you to pay ₹10, for entering the temple. And when you enter into the temple, they will ask you to pay again to lit the diyas, offering prashad/phool/nariyal. This is not over yet, they will again ask you to pay if you want to offer jal to shivling. Rude behavior from the main pandit. They will not allow you to take photos inside the temple although mobiles are allowed inside the temple. Pandit needs ₹100 form each one who wants to worship holy shivling with jal. We visited in savan, and the mandir is full of dirt and pungent choking smell. If the Pandit had requested, we would have thought of giving dakshina but he is very rude. Not at all accepted form a Pandit. To all the Pandit's - मन से दिया हुआ दान होता है, और मुख से मांगी भीख।।

Temple environment is very good. Inner side structure of the temple is old but well maintained. At the entry there is a beautiful pond. One can wash hand and feet before enter to temple

Puri Lokanatha Temple is a Hindu Temple situated in the town of Puri, Odisha, India. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva. According to history the lingam in this temple was established by Lord Rama. For many Hindus, the month of Shravana is a month of fasting. Many Hindus will fast every Monday to Shiva and/or every Tuesday to Parvati. Fasting on Tuesdays of this month is known locally as "Mangala Gauri Vrat. Loknath Temple (locally called Shri Lokanatha Mandira) lies only about 2 km from the sacred Lord Jagannath Temple in Puri. It is one of the holiest shrines in Odisha that is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Odisha since time immemorial has been a place, where Shaivism has always flourished. An interesting aspect of this shrine is that its innermost sanctum houses a Shivalinga, which is visible only once in a year. The reason being is that the entire sanctum including the Shivalinga gets filled with water by a natural fountain, all through the year. It is only on the night of Pankoddhar Ekadashi - three days prior to the Shivaratri festival - all the water from the sanctum is bailed out, and the Shivalinga becomes visible. Thousands of devotees throng to the temple during the festival to worship the Shivalinga. Even though the Shivalinga is visible only once during the year, devotees offer flowers, beetle and bilva leaves, honey, sandal paste, flowers, milk, coconut water and curd to it throughout the year. The mixture of these and the water from the natural fountain decompose, and as per local belief, this decomposed mixture has a special essence and has great medicinal value and anyone who drinks this water is cured of incurable

The temple of Lord Mahadev is absolutely beautiful with full of positive aura. It is believed that all the desires are fulfilled in this temple. The temple is not much crowded as it's not Monday or Shravan month or Jagara. You can go in early morning for mental peace. But be aware of the priests as they take too much money for the name of God.

Don't just visit the temples, if possible learn the history of the temple and its greatness.

The temple can be visited easily from Jagannath mandir as private buses ply there. The area is not much developed but deities are centuries old. Some pandas are greedy and also they spit in temple premises. Vinayaka's murthy is very old and beautiful. It has nice pushkarini also.

I know this place very well.. but now totally changed..sry to say this..prasadam was not good.. smells like unfresh cmpltly..n price was too high..they r making only money..catching devotees faith in God..

Loknath is a famous Shiva Temple where people come to offer their prayers and do abhishekam of the Shivalinga. I visited on a Sravan somwar and there was a lot of rush. One can buy Pooja items at the entry of the temple. Mobile phones are not allowed inside. There is no entry ticket as well as no parking ticket. There are temples of Lord Hanuman and other deties inside along with a pond.

Nice place to visit. Properly cleaned but a lot of work need to be done inside the temple. A proper development plan need to be framed by the administration to develop the Interior which is in a poor state of condition.

Be careful of the pandas. They will do some small puja from their own and demand huge amount as dakshina and dan. If you don’t give they will scold and push you out of the temple as if they own the place. Inside temple they don't clean the old offerings made and place is full of cockroaches and stinks badly. Earlier It used to be a very serene and peaceful place surrounded by trees and a beautiful pond.

Be aware of *pujari * in the form of *thiefs* , they loot money from everyone. Simple go and visit don't take any prashad only do darshan .

We visit this place as devotees, but there is a loot going on by the priests there , they just ask for high amount by mentioning certain conditions.. administration should interfere here, such type of behaviour by local People indirectly tarnish the image of Hindu religion and also Hindu institutions...Priests must get money as they are the torch bearers of Hindu culture but they should not demand the devotees or blackmailing them.

Worst experience we got in this temple..the temple priests are very very badly behaving with people..only money Oriented..they are just covering the lord locanath.. throwing the Puja materials to the lord..oh my god..the situation is very worst here..

It is a very old Banyan tree in the main campus of Lord Jagannath Temple. According to the Hindu mythology the devotees offers prayer to fulfill their wishes. Very nice place to visit.

Hindus Temple

Idol is full of excellence and grace. Main negligence is dilapidated structure. In a few yards pl. find Subhadra Mandir and Nadia Gauranga Mandir. One should contract an e-rickshaw for Chakratirtha Temple cum Beach halt for 1.5 hours and Bedi Hanuman Temple cum Sonar Gauranga Temple for half hour.

Mobiles and Cameras are not allowed hence could not take photos. But the place is beautiful, so calm. I wanted to sit there for sometime. An idol of Gouranga, Subhadra were there. The place is too old and not well maintained but I liked. You can also get drinking water over there....

It's a nice place to visit where the idols of krishna in young age and in baby age which is made up of gold is available...photography of idols is prohibited..there are also subhadra temple and nadiyar gouranga is present and photography is allowed there...books about the puri odissa and the jagannath temple is available there in the gate.

This temple is situated at Puri on Chakratirtha road. This is visited mostly by Bengalis . There are two more temple called Subhadra temple and Nodiyar Gouranga temple. The place cannot be said as well maintained but the temples are peaceful and quite. Mobile is prohibited.

For a devotee of Krishna...these are places to spend some quite moments in these locations and meditate or chant. Calm place. Only when tourists or crowds enter, its overwhelming. Hare Krishna 🙏🌹🙏🌹🙏🌹
