It's neat and has a lot of interesting machines to see. The machines as art are really amazing. They're intricately designed and really quite beautiful. They do shows of the machines that are displayed in the gallery, then a walk up the terrace to see the workshop and a short movie, and finally a walk along a metal tree lined with plants. 8.50 to see the gallery, 8.50 to ride the elephant, 8.50 to ride the carousel. The gallery ticket and elephant ticket allow you to go up to the terrace as well. With that said the machines movements and actions are all quite simple so don't expect any great feats or robotics.

An amazing place! This was a very special place for all the animal machines there are and how realistic their movements are. I was blown away by how big and accurate they are. There was a bit of a queue to buy the tickets so I’d definitely recommend getting them in advance. As for the prices, I took a picture and posted here too. There are different prices for individuals, students and families so take it into account. If you want to have an elephant ride, that’s extra. The elephant machine can carry 50 people! The exposition is very interactive. The staff regularly asks for volunteers to help controlling the machines. It’s perfect for all ages. Take your time to enjoy all the tour, including the construction area. There’s a video room and they show how it all started and also what their vision and future plans are. Go for a stroll on the branch too. A unique experience and view.

A very nice place for all types of people, singles, couples, families, and kids. Really enjoyed being there with my partner. - The big elephant was going around and spraying water on people and everyone was following it. You have the option of seeing more information by buying tickets and going inside the building where other similar animals are found inside, which are quite nice as well. The elephant offers rides as well so many people enjoy the show from being inside and over it, yet I think it's more enjoyable to play down to it. - The areas around have playgrounds so some people were playing basketball. Also Going to the river is nice as well.

This place is a dream come true for anyone into machines and Transformers movies! The elephant machine is seriously mind-blowing, looks like it belongs in the wild. Very impressive piece of Machinery, all the family can enjoy those huge animatronics creatures made of wood and metal. Note that they are scheduled at specific times so make sure you check when the “things” will be wandering. Enjoy!

The Gallery is somewhat underwhelming, however the elephant ride is good fun and overall it is very good value for money. The large carousel also looked like fun but probably better if you have children with you. It was also a bit more expensive. The small carousel looked great for younger children and good value.

Great place to be and unleash the nerd in you, kid or adult :P Running away from the elephant spraying water was ridiculously fun. Elephant ride is was already reserved and complete for the day so we couldn't ride it but enjoyed our time a lot in the gallery and carousel anyway. Reserving your ticket online might be a good idea in high touristic season.

The gallery was really interesting, with many different mechanized animals. If you are lucky, you get to ride in one of the machines as it is demonstrated. We "flew" in the heron bied machine, with the audience watching us, it was a really cool experience. Children love it too! After the visit you can use the ticket to enter on the opposite site of the building and have a look at the workshop. This is also a really good spot to be in when the elephant returns from its round. You then exit through the three branch.

Amazingly good fun, especially for pre-teen children. I would recommend the ride on the Elephant and the Gallery of the Machines, but not the Sea Carousel as the ticket only gives 1 ride rather than 1 ride per level (there are 3 different levels and for a family of 4 or 5 it costs just over 33 euro for a 4 minutes ride)

Such a fantastic experience... it's like a little Steampunk Disneyland! We enjoyed half a day here, riding the elephant and carousel, visiting the machines demonstrations and the workshop. We're heading to Toulouse tomorrow to ride the Minotaur as well.

During winter it's not a very attractive place to visit. But that said, the magnificent elephant is a must-see even during g days there are no rides on it. I assume the rides are during summer when the crown is large. The suvernier shop has expensive goods.

Loved this interesting interactive exhibit! My son had told me about it, so we were excited to visit. A rugby exhibition was happening nearby,and there were two carousels nearby created by the same people that if I was a kid I'd die to ride. One carousel was three in one! Three stories of carousels. The exhibit was guided,and they had older children and adults ride or run them - a giant me mechanical spider, a heron that "flew", etc. But of course the piece de resistance was the elephant. For less than 10€, you could ride on this enormous elephant in a 35 minute ride ( you have to book a time for the ride). A once in a lifetime experience! Great for families OR adults. Plenty of parking a block away in several parking garages.

This park is now on top of my list of botanical gardens. I enjoyed every inch of it. It is full of hidden surprises around every corner and presents a very pleasant experience. There is a restaurant inside, but it was fully booked so no comments about the quality and taste of the food.

Hello everyone, I visited this park last week. It is a park located in the middle of the city center of Nantes. It is beautiful for picnicking and walking alone or with children or friends. It has birds of different types and a lake.

Very beautiful and peaceful place. Perfect for a little picnic with friends or to go alone and read a book under a tree. Cute cafe where you can drink good coffee.

The park is amazing and I would definitely recommend it to everybody no matter grown-up or families with kids to come into this park. And the sculptures are as well quite funny and everywhere in the park chairs with tables and benches to sit down for a few minutes. It is a very calm atmosphere the city centre!

Amazing garden, came back several times during our stay in Nantes. Especially enjoyed the greenhouse which was open with seating, it was very peaceful. Really well looked after gardens with a wide variety of plants.

A paradise for a dip in nature and beauty. Lovely landscapes, plants and flowers. Suggested as a shortcut from the station, but mostly for some relax (there’s also a very nice café). The variety of species is so rich and interesting, it’s very well kept. Funny benches and an interesting educational aspect. It’s not a full stars because we where looking for the birds (shaped hedges), and there is only a cute, beautifully maintained alone sleeping bear. It’s a worthy walk!

The museum is well structured, offers a great insight on what Nantes was (its very beginning) and goes all the way to today. I think that it is a must since it makes you have a different perspective about the city you know now. Also, it’s a historic place because the duques used to live there. In terms of accessibility, I have to say that it was well conditioned too. It has access to all the floors in respective order with a lift. You have the explanations in different languages too: English, Spanish and French, which makes it easier to understand. The whole exhibition is hosted in what used to be the living quarters of the royalty back in the day and every floor or area tells a different story. Request a map at the start of your visit to keep you oriented and do the tour in the right order. The visit can take 2 hours. Last but not least, enjoy it!!

Amazing free Chateau to visit in Nantes. The grounds are beautiful and there's a moat with koi, turtles, and ducks swimming. Inside there's a cafe, a museum(need to pay for this), and the ramparts(free). We walked the ramparts and took in some great views of the area. There are a few placards around with some information about the area and the Chateau as well.

Might be one of the best museums I have been to. This was my 1st stop with the 48 hour Nantes Pass and I was not disappointed! The Museum is set inside the Chateau with about 90% of the focus on the history of Nantes through the ages, with 10% on the caste scattered throughout. As one would expect, most of the text is in French, but they do offer audio guides from the front desk of which I was able to get an English version. The museum is organized into just over 30 rooms that have thematic groupings but each their own individual theme when you step into a room. The audio guide is very good at giving a brief overview and then there are selectable options if you want more detail on certain artifacts. The main highlight for me was the use of multimedia devices in a number of the exhibits which really took the museum experience to the next level. They have one unique feature that I've never seen before where you can pilot a virtual hot air balloon around the historic city circa 1750 and then set the balloon down in various areas and move around the digital rendition of the town.

It was the weekend of march 2023, the sky was lovely. I booked the ticket day for student, so the price for visiting the monument is so cheap. You should change the ticket before come inside the Castle of Ducs. It so big and large, we spent about 2,5 hours to all exploring. Outside the castle 🏰, there is the place to see the city center. Near by the Gare center. Highly recommended for your trip in Nantes.

Very interesting castle musée to visit. I'd recommend to spend at least 2 hours including the Genghis Khan exhibit. At the GK exhibition, you can borrow their English guide book in exchange for your ID. There are locker that's free and can easily fit a 45l backpack. I think there are bigger lockers too. You'll pick up a coin from near the reception and use it. Many of the exhibits have English but I'd estimate around 90% don't. Kinda hard for me whose French isn't up to date.

One of my worst restaurant experiences. The staff is particularly rude. I took the day menu that supposed to be quicker. I ended up waiting 30 minutes for the second course to arrive. We had to ask and it was obvious they forgot about our order. My partner ordered a vegetarian plate and they brought a pork dish instead. Then they changed it and It was just a bunch of boiled frozen vegetables in a tin tomato sauce. My menu was a bland brownish salad with feta and tin tuna. Then the main course supposed to be pork with linguini in a basil sauce. The horror !!! The dish was a bunch of unsalted and unseasoned pasta, watery and bland as hell in a disgusting “brown sauce” that supposed to be basil based. The meat was just two small pieces of cold grill pork. Absolutely horrendous. I think in hospital or in prison you can get better quality of food. So sad that they don’t even put the minimum effort to cook with a little of dignity and respect to customers.

It was nice but kinda small, there wasn't much to see after all

Fantastic collection of minerals and shells that fascinated our 8-year old grandson. A big collection of birds that I studied slowly. Several groups of children were working on what appeared to be really interesting projects. Well worth a visit (1.5-2hours). No café on location but very tempting bakeries, chocolate shops and other specialty stores nearby. Warning : don't believe the street signs to the museum, they point in exactly the opposite direction 🤣

Good permanent exposition - live snakes, impressive stones, different interesting artefacts. And un plus now there's new interesting exposition about intelligence. Museum located in the beautiful historical building in the center of Nantes. Interesting to go there with kids.

The amount of history, minerals, fosils and animals is quite impressive. A lot of cool stuff to see in this museum.

The museum itself is really nice, however (like most museums in France), it is extremely unfriendly for non-French speakers. The museum even had Braille, but not English text. The Ocean temporary exhibition is really interesting and is the most friendly for English speakers, but still over 50% of it is in French.

Absolutely great- vast collection of preserved animals- birds, reptiles, sea creatures etc. Plus loads of fossils and precious stones. Vivarium was also cool with various live snakes. Cheap prices- free for under 18s

This place is cool, it only takes about an hour to walk around, if you can avoid the ticket booth do so, the lady working there was hugely unpleasant and kinda ruined the vibe.

Not big but pretty cool museum. It has all kinds of rocks, stuffed animals, live snakes, fossils, shells, birds, etc.... Our kids (and we) really enjoyed it. It's also free for kids and a very small price for adults

Wonderful hilly park with paved paths, nice public bathrooms and a nice variety of trees and plants. The park is especially nice for runners since it connects to a bigger network of parks in the area.

This park in France is very large and beautiful. The grounds are well-cared for with many trees and shrubs. It also has a pond with ducks swimming about so it's really peaceful there. It also has a small children's bobsled and a carousel for their enjoyment. Overall, this is the perfect place for a Saturday or Sunday outing.

Fantastic park,one side with lovely big trees and large, lush lawns, the other side past the bridge a wild meadow with lush grass and trees. Just like being in the middle of lovely woods in the middle of town.

A must visit in Nantes. This is a stunning park throughout all seasons with some great walks, views points overlooking parts of the city and lots of birds life to observe. The layout and vegetation of the park allows for people to gather on shaded areas or on wide grass patches. Century old trees watch the trickle of park goers in the peaceful alleys. That’s unless some kids are celebrating a birthday in a joyful atmosphere in one of the many wide open grass patches.

Our group of 7 intrepid topophonists arrived tired and slightly damp but were made to feel welcome with inexpensive coffee and a group table. 17 € for 7 coffees and table service. They pushed the tables together for us to talk!

A small museum with replicas of the inventions of Jules Verne, display of his books, manuscripts, posters and games. You can learn a lot about his life and work. The museum itself is not very attractive, just with a few artefacts but for real fans of Jules Verne it's the unique place. A bit far away from the city center but with lovely views to Loire.

It was ok. Nothing more, nothing less. I don't regret visiting it, but I wasn't WOWed.

This visit was great value. The museum is full of Verne mementoes, first editions, story related posters, toys and films, and much information about Jules Verne’s life and his attachment to Nantes.

If you are a real Jules Verne fan. It is a great place to visit.

It is not Jules Verne's house, there is almost nothing historical from him, so I wouldn't call it a museum, but it was interesting and I discovered things I never knew about his life and being in a place that he used a lot was interesting.

Someone has to be a lover of Verne's novels and usually at least one of his masterpieces met us in one of its various forms during our childhood. Therefore we are all enthusiastic when visiting the museum which has a wonderful timeline of Verne's family and life as well as of his editions and their impact. More description in English would be more helpful but in the bottom line, this one hour visit made me travel, read, remember and feel passionate.

Have read what I thought where his stories and seen the films. I did not know he wrote a lot more and his views of love, relationships and equality where decades before their time which some people have trouble with in the 21st century. The 2 euros per person this place is a hidden gem in Nantes. Even though it is slightly out of the centre it is well worth the walk.

This museum is the place to learn about Jules Verne, how he had inspiring future more than 100 years ago. He influenced many of scientists and engineers. I am one of them.

I quite enjoyed this place though I rushed and didn't really do it justice. The labelling is slmost all in french, but you can access english information using a QR code, which would probably improve the experience. The contents include some artifacts about Jules Verne's life and also some based on his works and the media derived from them. He must have been an extraordinary man.

An interesting enough experience while visiting Nantes. We were lucky enough to get in for free because it was digital week which was a nice surprise. They had several interactive exhibitions focused around Virtual Reality which fun. I expected a few more items on display but still something to see. The exhibition is tailored to French visitors with almost everything in French. The most annoying part is the signs displaying information about items are maybe 10% of what it actually shows in French. If you want to see some of his creations in full size head over to the nearby Island that has the giant elephant you can't miss.
