10€ for a combined ticket including 4 different attractions. This one was not the best of them. The outside was beautiful and there was a lovely looking sculpture garden but you couldn't go in it. The inside was quite simple and the main feature in every room was the mosaic tiles which were all described down to the last morsel. However, there was very little else to see and the information linked to this was often written at the end rather than the beginning. The room with the knights clothing was by far the best one. You will need to walk up steep steps, so it is not suitable for disabled people.

The views from outside were more enjoyable than the actual experience. I enjoyed the plaques that explained more about the history. If you're a historian and enjoy these type of things, it may be worth paying the 8 euros to enter. I'm a seasoned traveler and would have preferred to spend those 8 euros on something else. The outside of this place is definitely the highlight (and free). If you are on a budget, you can definitely skip this exhibit. If you've got the time to kill and don't know what else to do, this is a decent option. They have bathrooms at the entrance which were decently maintained

Some interesting art in the main museum but most of the original statues were damaged by earthquakes. The outdoor garden is peaceful and has a few impressive frescoes. There is a small museum in the back with a few excellent pieces, some going back almost 8,000 years. Most of the castle is a reconstruction in the last century. The staff is very knowledgeable and can offer some historical insight.

Nice place! We went only to the Palace and had a look around. For that the entrance price might be a little too much, but you v Cam easily get a combo ticket with other museums to make it worth your while. I really liked their collection of mosaics.

The Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes is a testament to the power and prestige of the Knights of Rhodes. It also sounds pretty cool. Stepping foot inside this magnificent fortress, you can't help but be overwhelmed by its architectural splendor and rich historical significance. A must-see for any history enthusiast (my son--- the history and archaelogy major) seeking to immerse themselves in the captivating world of medieval knights. The entrance was 10 Euros. It felt steep but you will spend at least 1.5 hours exploring the huge case and its grounds.

It is worth visiting the grand master's palace, it is a piece of Greek history. It really preserved the medieval architecture and we admired the preserved medieval walls and construction the whole time. I definitely recommend a visit. I recommend buying tickets in advance through the official site of Greek monuments. It's called the Hellenic Heritage. For Europeans under the age of 25, a free ticket to this monument is available through this website. For people over 25, you can also find a cheaper ticket than on commercial sites that sell tickets

Very interesting and well preserved monument. There was a “history of Rhodes” exhibition on when I visited which had a lot of items on display. After finding the way up into the palace (doorway to the right of the ticket office) I was very impressed with the way the palace had been preserved and the video storyboards were very interesting. I went on a Saturday morning expecting to join a queue for tickets but when I arrived there was no queue at all, initially went on a Friday and the queue was enormous.

It was OK for 8 eur, though there are plenty of beauties for free or much cheaper. Mosaic floors are not renovated, rooms are hardly decorated or equipped. The most impressive it is from outside. Slight disappointment for us, Rhodes provides much more great sights, even for free... EU vaccination certificate was throughly checked.

I’m not sure what is not to like about the palace which the combined ticket only costs €10 and you can visit the archaeological museum & other attractions with the same ticket… Lots of mosaics exhibited in the palace and lots of rooms, hallways.. I found it very enjoyable to walk around, although there’s not much texts about the history itself, only about the mosaics. Definitely worth a visit just to have a stroll. It’s a nice palace building on its own.

Great experience. Just direction signs or a small map on the ticket is missing. Than my mark shall reach maximum of 5 stars. Otherwise very well maintained, with interesting exhibitions. Recommend visiting.

We bought a combo ticket 10€, the child is free, the price includes visiting 4 places. In the Palace of the Grand Master on the ground floor there is an exhibition of antiquity, many exhibits, it is interesting to look at and read the names, as well as find out what period of time they belong to. On the second floor, the atmosphere of a real knight's castle. Unfortunately, there is little information in the museum itself about the life of this period, so it would be good to search and get acquainted with information on the Internet in advance. We spent almost 2 hours, but for my teenage child, unfortunately, it was not so interesting as it was for me.

Beautiful, well preserved building. My husband and I visited on a Sunday, payment in was 8 euros each. Nice and cool inside, great relief from the heat of Rhodes. Definitely worth the visit, could easily spend 1.5. Hours here. Didn't appear to be guided tours/ maps/ information leaflets when we visited. Would suggest you bring your own booklet/ read information about the palace before you visit, so that you know about it.

This ancient medieval castle with a residence built in gothic style (very uncommon in Eastern lands of Byzantine influence), was carefully rebuilt by the Italians in 1940, who were then in control of the island. It is a real fortress, not a fake or ceremonial one, full of history, having been the headquarters of Knights Hospitaller. There's an interesting collection of ancient uniforms inside.

For 8€ you can take a quick walk through this ancient palace. The atrium is neat and beautiful. It shows some statues. The main course takes you on the first floor, after a short visit to a small chapel. Following through various rooms, you can see differently styled rooms of which many show famous mosaic layings on the ground. It is a nice little walk through the building. The whole course takes around 30 minutes, depending on time you want to spend there. It is worth a visit.

Magnificent castle with lots of old relics, tools, jewelry and pottery. You get amazed how old some of them are. The castle is floored with marble and lot of mosaic in beautiful detail. I don't recommend this place for children, but adults.

What a fantastic day out and we probably didn't get to see half of it as it's so massive inside the walls . There are plenty of places to sit and watch the world go bye while having something to eat and drink. Loads of small boutique restaurants and shops to mill in and out while you marvel at the scale of this place and how well maintained it was . I would definitely recommend going to this place. Carl

What an incredible experience! This is one of the finest museums in Greece, and a must see in Rhodes. Everything about it was superb, a visit to remember for a lifetime. I visited off season, so there were no queues, but since it can get very busy during tourist season, ensure you plan tickets and your visit in advance. Definitely a place that I will come back to, with a proper medieval feel. It has to be experienced, you will not regret it!

Great place and full of history. Visited on a weekday in late September. Not too many people, although there were a lot of groups from the cruise ships when we went. We had bought tickets on line but there is limited signage to say that you can skip the queue. We both really enjoyed our visit. Lots of mosaics (brought over from Cos by the Italians) statues, art etc. Keep an eye out for the windows which are made of thin sheets of alabaster - amazing to see. I think it was 8 euro at the time.

Interesting bit of history in the Medieval town. We were lucky on the day to get a free pass to wander around the grand masters palace. An interesting insight into the story of the Knights of Rhodes.

Very much worth the visit and ticket price (8 euro) if you are the least historical or architecture interested. The castle is quite large with lots of interesting places and rooms to visit, with impressing interior and old mosaics, paintings and so on. Very well preserved. I spent around 2 hours during the visit. Only downside is the missing signs with descriptions about the different rooms, it could be nice to read a little about the purpose of the different rooms and structures.

Impressive palace from the outside. As soon as you enter it is necessary to buy a ticket. Either 8€ to visit the palace once or 10€ for a combined ticket (valid for 3 days) - for the Palace of the Grand Master of Knights, the Archaeological Museum, the church of Our Lady of the Castle and the Decorative Arts Collection. The ticket can be booked online in advance, then you can save the queue for the ticket purchase (left queue) and wait only for the entrance itself (right queue). After the queue in the courtyard you are disillusioned and wonder what you paid 8€ for. But the "small" ticket also includes the way through the castle itself. For this you have to take a door next to the entrance with a large staircase up. Here there are then some nice things to see during a walk through the castle. All in all, it is worth a visit. The toilet in the courtyard can unfortunately not be locked 🫣.

I will love that will be signs for the rooms and more so you know what you see. And i come to the end of march so a lot of rooms was close. It was decent for a small scroll. Is worth it for sure if you are under 25 so you can get ticket for free. Generally it was interesting to learn the story behind it and see the mosaic from Kos.

Neat architecture and upstairs rooms with pretty floor mosaics. Sadly during March 2024 low season, the Knight Crusaders exhibits were closed. But Combo ticket €10, covers 4 sites all near Knight St and no crowds/queues during low season.

Well worth it as especially since you get 4 different places for 10€! The garden area was lovely, all those arches too in the main courtyard. There are a lot of steps with no hand rails, so if that's a problem for you- I would give it a miss. I could have spent a lot of time here, just sitting taking it all in. If you are interested in historical pottery, then this is the place for you too! It had a really nice feel to it this place, I could go again and again just to take it all in. Although one can only look at so much pottery..

Only €6 to enter or you can get a premium ticket for €10 that gets you into 3 other places including the Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights. There was a lot of burial urns, statues and grave markers, a garden with fish in a pond, I saw some lizards, and there is a cafe inside. Some of the items in the museum came from the Acropolis in Lindos so that was cool to see after visiting the acropolis.

Part 1: as they say on their homepage, the prehistory part is not available during winter. Unfortunately that also includes the Bronze Age, which technically is not pre-history. Part 2 (general review): Nice collection and entrance fee is negligible. All the pieces are listed in English and Greek and structured in different time periods. The building itself is great and houses a nice garden where the mosaics are displayed.

Great museum which wraps around the whole central courtyard which then heads out to the open roof area and then leads on the the gardened area which is easy to miss as it's up the steps when you go outside to see the statues outside on the roof. Well worth the 6euro entrance fee and it is even cheaper with a combi ticket for the palace

We bought a combination ticket that included this and Palace and two small museums for €10 Euros. This ticket and the museums are worth the €10 Euros. I do recommend seeing this museum, at first it doesn't seem like are seeing much. Continue on and also up the stairs to next level and there are lots of rooms on both levels and then into beautiful gardens.

The collection contains quite a few remarkable pieces, but their guidance of visitors could be a lot better, as particularly the initial rooms seem rather boring. It does get better in the garden later.

Impressive museum in the former hospital dating back 600-800 years ago. Very interesting to visit!

Nice collection of art and historical remnants of the past eras of Rhodes. The hospital which it is located in is quite a sight itself, and the well spaced arrangements make it a calm and interesting experience. (I visited in March, it should be noted)

This museum was a pleasure to go to and explore! The building itself is quite large and has plenty of rooms to explore and read a lot of history about Rhodes and past events! This museum also has a good ratio of interior and exterior sites to view. Would definitely recommend a visit to the museum Only downside was the many rooms used only to display pottery, which could have been used for other items for more variation instead! Side note: Make sure to visit on the weekend, as the museum closes early at 3pm on weekdays, and 8pm on weekends!

Worth the visit if you want to see / learn more of Rhodos history and you want to take a break from the beach. Had a few interesting pieces, but the building itself is also worth to see.

Nice gardens there and quite a few ancient artefacts to view. It has lots of small rooms full of artefacts but they were too hot to stand in during our visit. It's a shame that lots of the things to see don't have any explanation as to what they are or where they are from. For around 6 euro it's an OK place to pass an hour.

Great place to visit and lots of restaurants/shops

This museum is in the heart of the Rhodes' Medieval City. We were passing by during the weekend and despite the €6 entrance price, we could enter free (together with many others). It was really nice to visit and learn a lot more in the history and culture. From Wikipedia: The museum is housed in the monumental edifice that was the hospital of the Knights of Saint John. Construction was begun in 1440 and brought to completion in the time of the Grand Master d'Aubusson (1476-1503). The Museum contains various collections of archaeological artifacts from various parts of Rhodes and the neighbouring islands, including the Statue of the Crouching Aphrodite (1st century BC)

You will find some of the exhibits in the open air, and some on the second floor, located in many small rooms. Also there is the crypt with the tomb stones of the dead knights. If you enjoy looking at small antiques and reading their labels, you'll love it. My teenage child was not very interested. We were in July and used combo tickets. 10€ with other places, child was free

Not a great collection, and sadly a real lack of any real context to what the pieces mean, and what they teach us about historic Rhodes. A 3-4 scattered panels give you a real quick deep dive into Rhodes’ history, but most of the written text is describing the appearance of the object which you can already see, in clumsy English. I’m a museum fan and I was very bored, you should skip the entire top floor if you’ve ever seen a Greek pot or vase before and take the stairs up next to the toilets to see the open air mosaics and amazing garden. Some crusader gravestones and Greek statues are in the large upper room next to this garden, fairly interesting, with a restored home in the garden, which again has sparse information or access. A clear lack of investment is sadly obvious here.

Good place to take a walk in. 10€ ticket for this museum and the palace. Can be visited on the next day after going to the palace. A lot of old statues, stones etc. Worth going!

Great room, staff were very helpful. The breakfasts were super yummy and made well. Really liked the concrete walls in room but balcony is shared between 4 rooms so don’t leave room door unlocked.

Really lovely hotel with stunning rooms and friendly staff however, club across the road that runs till 01h00 otherwise perfect.

The hotel located 5 minute walk from the city center and is right on the beach. The staff is so nice. Everyone just wants to help you and make sure you have a good time. The rooms are very clean and nicely decorated. We had a great time and for sure we'll be back.

Given the very high price, I have no choice but to only give 1 star. Paid 350€ per night expecting a nice and spacious room with sea view. View was obstructed by another house. Very noisy vent outside, so opening the window was no option. Interior of the room was pretty cheap. Doors are so thin and like paper that you hear every move in the hall. Lamp was almost falling off the ceiling and so on. No own beach access, need to go to overrated beach club. If it had cost half, I may have given 3 stars, but this way no more was possible. The staff was nice though.

This is absolutely my favorite hotel in the WORLD! The staff is outstanding! The rooms themselves are very spacious and the particular room we stayed in had a double sink and a very beautiful shower/bathroom area. Accommodations: - Delicious breakfast made to order every morning that includes almost anything and everything you could think of! Pancakes, Omelettes, Oatmeal, Yogurt, eggs, bacon, etc! - Outstanding rooftop pool and bar area that overlooks the beaches of Rhodes - You can order drinks and food at the rooftop pool or sit and lounge by the bar area - The most accommodating, helpful, and kind hotel staff I've ever met - They include a mini shaving cream, razor, q tips, and other small travel necessities you may need in your hotel room - They also have a paid laundry service where they send out your laundry and you get it within (roughly) two days (we did this and it was so nice to have clean + fresh clothes on vacation - def worth the money!)

Great hotel, very beautiful design, the nicest stuff and the best location ever. 10-15 minutes walk to the old town to the clubs at night, a few minutes walk to the casino and less than 1 min to the beach. The Ronda place underneath is so good, really beautiful, clean and the food is really good. Thanks the hotel for the best vacation ever and especially to Nactatious who was really caring and helpful. Lots of love hope to come and visit again.

The two stars are only for the breakfast which is (a la carte), first day the service was bad, the staff not smiling, second day it was way better with another waiter and the hotel’s manager that was nice. The price is too much expensive (€325 per night) for a poor rooms, shared balcony everyone can pass and see you, the room is over a tennis playground where you hear the noise, and the wifi doesn’t work at all in our room! First day we went up to see the tiny swimming pool, pillows were everywhere on the ground blocking the elevator door (they were cleaning) even at our room outdoor! Also, We have asked for tissues they gave us toilet paper The beach entry is not included Never been so much disappointed by such a choice, it doesn’t worth more than 100€ per night

First the positive: The hotel is modern and furnished with love. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. Breakfast is a la carte and freshly prepared. There is a fixed selection of sweet and savory dishes and every day an additional choice. The rooftop terrace won us over the most, in September there was not so much going on so we had this to ourselves on some days. However, the pool is very low (90cm), if that bothers anyone, for us it was fine. You can park for free in front of the hotel, we always found a parking space. The location is very central and you can be in Rhodes town in a few minutes walk. The hotel is located in the second row on Elli beach. This is a bit confusing, because the pictures that some providers show on the Internet convey a direct beach location. However, this is a beach bar that does not belong to the hotel. The sun beds also belong to this beach bar and are relatively expensive (20-30 euros). The hotel itself therefore has no direct view of the beach and also no beach chairs. Another point is the already often mentioned beach bar across the street, which sometimes has loud music on until 3 o'clock in the morning. We had initially also thought that some vacationers exaggerate here, but we were convinced of the opposite. Who is really looking for peace and quiet, is definitely wrong here. The view of the tennis court is also not very nice. On the whole, we enjoyed our stay very much, but felt that the price paid was clearly too high for the hotel category.

Excellent customer service!! Breakfast was delicious and an enjoyable experience to look forward to. Given the high end menu, we felt that espresso and speciality coffee should have been available. Wifi login is for the individual room but this wasn’t explained well and we wasted a lot of time trying to get on the wifi network. Convenient location to walk to old town and the beach. Pool had a great view of the ocean.

We chose this experience before our holiday and so please we did. We went October on the boat with our toddler and all loved it! They arranged direct pick up from our hotel and drop off again for a charge but buses can get busy so it worked well. It was amazing stopping at the 3 bays and swimming and snorkeling seeing the fishes. Lunch was inclusive and I was always offered wine 🤣 a chance to sun bathe, chill, relax, eat and enjoy picturesque views. Hosts were friendly and my toddler had space to roam when he needed to. If you're deciding whether to book or not, this won't disappoint you. A recommended excursion to St Anothony quinn Bay.

Amazing staff! We took the wine tour. This took us to an amazing butterfly area, a peacock mountain, a super cool pottery craftsman's workshop, and a personal wine tasting. The staff were friendly and very funny. Some of the wines were very good. I would have bought several bottles if I could have brought them home. This was a very good value tour. I definitely recommend the tour and the company to anyone.

We did the trip to symi island with the swimming stop at St George’s bay. Was a lovely trip however take note on the timings, it is a very long journey to the locations! The boat also left symi slightly earlier than planned so do be careful to be back to the boat WELL ahead of time. Was a lovely trip apart from that :)

Great day trip. Easy booking and everything was just as advertised. Pick-up from hotel was exactly on time, boat departures and arrivals also all on time. Lots of different places to sit on the boat - sun, shade, lounge, deck chair. Excellent

Had amazing wine tasting tour. It was really great experience to see wine making behind the scene. I never had experience to see how they grow grapes in the village. Had a chance to compare small family winery and a bigger one, honey association was very interesting and Sweet as well. Next day had a great trip to Symi island with them.Transfer was just in front of the hotel, comfy minibus, boat was not packed and we had a great time in St.Georges bay, swimming stop was just what we needed after the hot day in Symi town . 3rd day we took a trip to Lindos by bus and it was spectacular wiev and a lot of history around us . Highly recommending this company one of my best experiences while i was traveling.

We we're in the "small group day sailing" and we LOVED it. The captain and the hostess were amazing. We wanted a small group with a relaxing trip and that's exactly what we got. They offered lunch, soft drinks, water, beer, wines and watermelon on board. We recommend this to anyone who seek for a small group sailing trip and not those huge loud party boats.

We went on the day trip to Symi with the stop in St Georges Bay including pick up and drop off to our hotel. We had an incredible day, the crew was lovely and the swimming spot was one of my favourites throughout our whole trip. The price was also the best we found and very reasonable considering we were staying Pefkos. We wish we had time to go again!

booked the boat trip to Symi with stop at St George’s Bay. great value for money so don’t be expecting anything too glamorous (it’s basic), paid 40€ each including transfer (best deal i could find). picked us up from hotel in Kallthea and returned us all in good time in an air conditioned, modern vehicle. quick boarding as had paid for tickets at offices rather than at the stall. would recommend getting there early if you want good seats - some were stuck standing however there is good views and spots to do so with. staff all friendly, trip fairly comfortable. stop at St George’s Bay was well worth it - incredibly beautiful. then a short journey to main Symi which was amazing - like something out a movie. given plenty of time to look round, shop and sit for a nice lunch. just a note the journey is quite tedious, especially on the way back after a long day. overall positive experience and would recommend.

The team is very well organized, they take care to give you the exact details and take care of making your experience as pleasant as possible. When booking the tour, you can opt for the company's pick-up option, where for a small fee a car will be sent in front of the hotel at a specified time and will bring you back at the end of the tour. It should be mentioned that in order to get the best possible place on the boat, it is necessary to arrive as early as possible because it gets crowded quickly. The stop in St George's Bay is wonderful with a gorgeous view and extremely clear water. A perfect place for a refreshing dip and wonderful underwater pictures. The port of Symi is loaded with gorgeous buildings, restaurants and shops. You should not miss a walk through the port, but it is necessary to be prepared with sunscreen and something to wear because it is very hot. At the end of the tour the driver was waiting for us by the boat to bring us back to the hotel.

We booked a day trip to Symi just a day in advance for a very reasonable price, especially compared to some other options. Picked at the hotel and brought back for a small additional fee. On the boat itself there's a bar with drinks and snacks. First stop was at St George bay with a possibility to swim directly from the boat. It was an hour-long stop. Important: the boat doesn't go ashore, but stops not far from it. Symi's harbor and the town are absolutely beautiful, really worth visiting. Too bad the stay is only about 3 hours, but no complaints, it's totally understandable as the commute itself takes 2+ hours each way.

The way half price tours organised a cute Symi trip for me and my wife was wonderful. Every bit of details were communicated a least 3 weeks prior to the day of the trip, which made everything smooth for us. Mr. George , was fast with response, whenever we had a question. We booked a trip to Symi with a previous stop in St George bay. First I have to say that I was struggling to find a park in the city, so we went to the office and George offered to park our car, so I left him the key. That was a salvation for us! After that we start our trip in a boat, comfortable and clean with options to stay covered from the sun. The staff was friendly. We stopped almost 1 hour to do snorkeling and swim in St George (very well to do the stop in the morning rather then afternoon when everyone is tired). After that we stopped at lunch time in the main village of Symi with plenty of time to eat, walk through the streets, relax in a bar. At 4.30 pm approx we headed back to Rhodes, arriving at 6.45 pm as planned. I found this agency very competitive in prices, but with high quality service! Very recommended!

A very interesting place if you are in Rhodes, especially if you’re interested in history. Although at times it can get very crowded with guides and tourists. There are lots of shops selling jewellery and greek sponges.

It's such a special place, romantic and flowing with such a unique energy. Be sure to go there after 18:00, when it's quieter. Take your time to stroll down those amazing ancient streets filled with echoes of the - controversial for some- glorious past. The intricacies between nature and man made structures is very appealing. Each tree seems rightfully in place, and some of them are just magnificent. Also, cats.

Some of the most beautiful places of old town of Rhodes. I visited it during the day time and also at night. In February there were almost no people. When you walk, turn to the more narrow streets and enjoy the beauty of the old town.

«A must see in Rhodes Old Town» you say? The Medieval City is on UNESCOs world heritage list, but the only thing you’ll see that could remind you of a medieval, historic attraction are the walls from the outside. When you walk through one of the many gates/entrances, you’ll see booth after booth, with the same jewellery, cups and refrigerator magnets everywhere, and there is no end to them. Sightworthy artifacts, such as the ‘Kastello’ (The Palace of the Grand Master of the Knights of Rhodes) and the ‘Roloi’ (The Medieval Clock Tower) get lost in a sea of tourist shops and ants (both people and actual ants). I know this would be worth spending a whole day exploring, if only the beatiful architecture was not covered up with «sale»-signs and parasolls from the shops, which (by the way) are a whole lot more expensive than other shops around the city. We went to a smoothie shop at some point, and ordered a Fanta and a strawberry smoothie. Both were served in gigantic bowls of maybe 2L, filled to the top with ice-cubes. Cost? 25€ Lesson learned: Always ask for the prices before you order, if the menu doesn’t say. I am sorry, absolutely not worth the visit..

Medieval street of inns representative of the countries from which the knights of Rhodos came. It is worth seeing at your leisure, each of the buildings along the street and understanding its purpose and past.

TOP SIGHT of Rhodes! Very very photogenic place, amazing and you can enter some of the old buildings. Very impressive and better than the Grand Masters Palace

The acropolis was unfortunately under renovation so we couldn’t properly see and enjoy it. However the ancient theater and stadium were interesting and beautiful to see. It was fun to see many locals still using the old stadium to power walk and jog.

Very strick staff , do not stand on marbles or move barrier. No Health safety barriers and risk of falling. Great achievement in ancient architecture reconstruction.

In my eyes, nothing spectacular needs renovation. The environment is not very tidy. If you’re in a hurry, feel free to skip this place unless you’re a history lover.

If you are a person passionate about the ancient history of Greece, then you definitely must visit this place. If not, you can skip it, especially since there are so many other interesting places nearby. The ruins are exactly what the name suggests - just some ruins. There is not much to see - a few stairs, the old stadium, a poorly restored theater, and three columns from the Apollo's temple, but unfortunately, the columns are under renovation (and they may have been in this state for many years). As positive point: the entrance is free, there is a room where you can read a lot of information about the sports events in ancient Rhodes and, in addition, right at the exit from the acropolis there is a spectacular seafront boardwalk where you can take some incredible photos.

The site is on the outskirts of town and wasn't what you'd call "Tourist Friendly" when we went. That is no shops for drinks or memorabilia so take water with you. Once there the site of the stadium is open and you can rest in the shade after the hill climb if you've walked up. Then on to what's left of the Acropolis. It was under renovation as you can see in the pictures but the view over the town was a site to see. It also helped with later trips to the exhibitions in the town ad it helped contextually to link exhibits.

Great site lots the see.the main temple is sadly obscured by scaffolding at the moment but at least they are making attempts to preserve it. Still worth seeing though.The stadium, and theatre are right next to it and are fully accessible.

Smaller than I was expecting, and it was a shame that there was scaffolding on the columns when I visited. But it's really refreshing to have an ancient monument you can just walk into with no visitor centre or gift shop, and to see it so beautifully preserved even though there is no security. In other circumstances you might expect graffiti and/or litter. But when I visited, it was immaculate. The place is very evocative and made me want to read up on it by myself.

Little piece of history, a lot of ancient buildings and ruins and of course the Stadium coliseum just below. It’s a long walk up the hill and a long walk back. Not much public transport if any dir this, however the hop on hop off bus does stop here hourly. Taxis are available but you would have to call them to come get you as they don't station themselves here, no shops, no toilets, no restaurants, the area is very de-commercialised

I enjoyed it! It was very interesting and there were a lot of things to look at. It is a lot of walking for younger kids so I wouldn't recommend visiting with young children. It is an interesting place but you would not be spending more than an hour or so there.

Very exciting to visit such an historic place. Even the kids got into the feeling of the old Olympics in the theater. Also just a minute away great view of the coastline!

The Acropolis of Rhodes town isn't as spectacular and intact as others across Greece. There are also no signs, no history information about the area. All of that can probably be found in the nearby museum, but it would be nice to have some basic info on site. But the stadium was very impressive. The entry is free, and we had a nice walk through the ruins. There are more ruins to see in the close proximity as well.

Amazing place. Free entry (although there are kiosks being built at the entrances suggesting they might start charging at some point in the near future) and a huge area to wander round. The Acropolis remains were covered in scaffolding when we were there but the stadium and (partially restored) theatre are incredibly intact for being so old. It's quite something to walk into the stadium imagining it packed with ancient Greeks watching chariot racing. Must-see.

I have been to Rhodes many times but never visited, so glad i did. I walked up from the beach area, the road is tricky in some spots and you need to be careful as there is not much room for pedestrians. Once there, it is a little underwhelming, and your experience probably depends on your appetite for history and imagination. By and large, it is an open area with some rocks, but there is the stadium section and amphitheatre, both remarkably preserved, especially considering the state of the remainder. I am glad to have been, if only to tick this from my list. I probably enjoyed the walk more especially the view out to sea and looking at the many nice villas on my way there. Each to his/her own.

Extremely calm area in the middle of the city…. You have to climb a bit for it a bit, but it’s completely worth the walk. Beautiful old theatre, many olive trees… Here you will get the feeling you are in a silent, decent village in stead of a larger city…

One of the more historic parts of town where you can find some ancient ruins ranging from columns, ancient stadium, and a call phone. Absolutely beautiful in the spring. I recommend coming here just before sunset. No tickets or line to enter. Friendly cats around. Beware, some bees around if you’re allergic. Parking is pretty chill.

Euro 5 per adult, free for children. You get a free drink for the adults, but you pay (Euro 2) for a drink for a child . But worth it. Great views over the city from the top of the clock tower. Sure it's the same couple running this as it was about 10 years ago when we last visited. Very clean and calming. No rush from anyone. Be aware though - steep(ish) wooden stairs up the inside of the clock tower. Would revisit again in the future.

Went to visit the clocktower without knowing about it. The entry fee does include 1 drink at the bar. The view from the top of the tower is amazing, you can check out the whole city from that perspective. Be carful of the stairs, they are very steep. The lower side (where the bar is) is a good place to rest and freshen up. Recommend for any visitors.

The tower is next to the Grand Masters Palace and Suleyman Mosque . The entrance fee is 5 euro (a drink is included ) . Visited in early aug 2021 , around noon , so not many people around . You can have a good view of the old town from this tower but its not that high (so not much climbing) . IT is worth a visit .The visit will take less then 30 min , if you dont take a break at the bar .

The price of entering was 5€ but with that you also get a free drink from their cafe (there is no execption you can get anything with the free drink ticket including alcohol) The clock tower has 4 floors the top floor is pretty crowded and small there is no balcony at the top floor, just a open window that you can take pics from. I find the price reasonable for the things you get. If you are at the area I reccomend checking out.

I am very disappointed when I reach to the top. Because you could not see the view in open space. The stairs are too dangerous if you need to be when climbing. You can take photos of the view. The only favourable thing is free drink for each entry ticket.

Although it is cheap to enter 5 euros you also get a free drink in the cafe below be careful as it is a steep climb up the stairs inside and you do meet people coming the other way and there is little to no room to pass so you will have to wait. When you get to the top if you are tall then mind you head as there is some low iron work. Once at the top the views are great and 360.

Climb to the top for €5 and you get a drink at the bar for free, well worth it and a must see if visiting Rhodes. It's a rickety old, narrow wooden staircase inside and once you get to the room at the top you can experience the cross winds blowing through the open windows at each side of the building.

Beautiful clock tower in the equally as beautiful old city of Rhodes. For 5 euro you can climb up the tower and have a nice panoramic view of the city. In the tower itself there actually isn’t that much to see upstairs. The entry price does include a free drink and toilets are available.

Definitely worth visiting. Very reasonable entrance fee. So informative with several interesting stories. Some of the stories are very sad, but they need to be heard. I would recommend this to everyone visiting Rhodes. Also there is a nice little gift shop with reasonably priced things.

Interesting synagogue, but 4€ entry fee is too much for a 10-15 minute visit.

The synagogue in the old city of Rhodes The synagogue is also a museum of Judaism in Rhodes. Entrance to the synagogue and museum costs 4 euros. The entrance is in a side alley until you reach it you don't see the place, so enter and walk until you reach it. The synagogue is in excellent condition. The Ark of the Covenant, bulbs and seats are in excellent condition, so you can get a full impression of the Judaism that was there. A well-kept patio and a small museum that describes the history of the Jews in Rhodes.

A quite superb museum attached to the only remaining synagogue in Rhodes. The museum collection itself is wonderfully put together with a lot of love and attention, it is also hugely moving. I learned a tremendous amount about Jewish life and also what makes the Jewish community on Rhodes unique. There is a lot of written information but also a free app available if you prefer your info in audio form. Entrance to the synagogue and museum was €6pp and was worth every cent. For me, the best museum we visited in Rhodes city.

Incredible place and the most important - incredible people working here. We got private tour by Isaak, descendant of Jews from Rhodos, whose mother survived Auschwitz. And we also met Sami Modiano, survivor of Auschwitz who is now 92 years old, living in italy, but coming each year to Rhodos to tell his story.

The “Kahal Shalom” is the oldest synagogue in Greece, and the sole remaining Jewish synagogue on Rhodes used for services. There was once six synagogues in the Jewish Quarter (called “La Juderia”). The “Kahal Shalom” was built in the year 1577.

This is a large park with some restored ancient ruins. The restoration is still in progress so there are scafolding and fences put up. There is a small exposition explaining the area and its significance, nbut its location is not obvious while exploring the park. There is also a restored ancient theatre and stadium.

Very nice place with a great view over the city of rhodos and the park below. Good place to chill. A bus is going to this place. Just ask the bus driver and than you have to walk uphill a little bit. The people in rhodos are very friendly and like to help.

As you can see from other reviewes’s photos, there is not much left of the temple to be seen. It is still under reconstruction as of 2020. However, if you walk across the street from the temple, you will reach the cliff with one of the most breath taking view of the island. It was so spectacular we went back three times. It is quite far away from most tourist hot spots so you can take the time to enjoy the view all to yourselves.

Restauration in Progress, no entry costs

At the time of the visit, the monument is in scaffolding. Nothing much was visible, but I believe the place will become nicer. When I was here 11 years ago the place was in even worse shape.

A place located in the rural area, somewhat difficult to locate, as there are few signposts. The temple of Apollo still needs major work and is currently covered with scaffolding. Despite that inconvenience, definitely worth visiting, since the theatre and the stadium, located nearby are in much better state.

This was my first time visiting a casino IRL and it was as I expected. Lots of machines (not so many games I recognized as Swedish via online casino). Large selection of live games upstairs such as poker and blackjack. Remember to bring your passport on your first visit to register, you will then receive a membership card that can be taken with you if you want to visit the Casino several times.

First time in a casino ever. Went for my birthday was really fun. Lots of machines ground floor and go up stairs for table games. Great experience and they have lotto nights which my pal won €300.

Alright place, many slot machines and roulette tables, on the top floor they have blackjack tables. They had 1 poker table open when i was there and it was full so no option to play unless another 10 people wanted to play.

First time I have ever been to a casino that required a mugshot before entering.

Only visited the casino but it is also a hotel with an amazing view in a historical building. When entering the casino, bring a physical ID card and register yourself in the reception. You will receive a golden members card for future access as well as a lotteri ticket for the daily lottery from 22pm-01pm (hours could vary). You can win cash amounts if your name gets called out and you have to be present at the time of the lottery each hour, giving you 2 minutes to cash in before they draw another ticket. Quite fun. The casino has everything and the Black Jack tables start at 25€ buy in. Also possibility of joining poker tournaments for 100€ buy in. Note that prices can have changed. It gets crowded at night. Non alcoholic drinks such as coffee and water is for free and you can buy beer for 3€ and special drinks like Irish Coffee for 10€.

My friend crew member from Philippines could not go inside. He had Philippines ID, Ship ID, but bouncer did not let him go. Commission was 3% in cashdesk. I could not play black jack, becouse maximum was three players on a table. So I spend 50 Euros on roulette, where was minimum bet 5 Euro. This casino is only for millioners. Never more.

We love casinos. This is the first one we tried in Europe, and it did not disappoint. Not huge, but big enough, and to my surprise it even had my favorite slot machine. Worth a visit for sure.

Contrary to other reviews and maybe changes have been implemented but it does not smell of smoke, in fact we never saw anyone smoking. The staff are very pleasant and courteous. We had complimentary coffee and soft drinks served to us. Toilets are clean and there is an abundance of hand gel everywhere. Masks are required even when sitting. If you have never been before you'll need to become a member so take your passport with you or photo id. Entry is free. Benefits also mean with your membership card will can use the free carpark. Table games are upstairs but minimums are high. Downstairs there is lots of slots and start at 1 cent. We enjoyed our visits and apart from it looking a little tired in places our experience was good.

What a gorgeous building! It is so majestic, full of grandeur and elegance. I could tell it was the building from the really interesting times in history of Rhodes - its days as part of Imperial Italy! I don't gamble and have not been inside, but I loved the Imperial Italian feel of the building. Very impressive and makes me think of valorous Regio Esercito.

Fantastic experience. Visited on my birthday to be greeted by three very pleasant staff who all wished me a happy birthday and have me a €20 slots coupon as a birthday gift (from which I won over €120 on the first spin by complete luck). Excellent choice of slots and electronic table games on the ground floor for a casino of this size as well as a number of table games on the first floor. Ample parking outside and a nicely relaxed dress code that allows Bermuda shorts (kind of essential given the heat in Rhodes during the summer but nice all the same!).

The poolside experience was amazing! We had an ex CD excellent cabana and chilled for about 4 hours. Nice breeze off the ocean. Very good selection of food and the service was impeccable.

Place is good just 5 min drive from Rhodes port. But do not forget to take your passport or the copy of your passport .

A very well protected harbour. It couldn't be otherwise given the history and the strategic location of the island. I don't know if it is opened to the public, I've just passed by it when entering and leaving port.

Located in the harbour of Rhodes Town and by the medieval windmills is this 15th century fortress now a lighthouse. Great walk and photo opportunity. Beautiful backdrop. Close to cruise ships.

The imposing St. Nicholas Fortress is located in the Rhodes Old City looking out over Mandraki harbour. In ancient times, Mandraki harbour was a military space, and in the 15th century, a guard tower was constructed there on the orders of Grand Master Raimondo Zacosta. Following the first siege, the tower was fortified. A bastion was added by Grand Master d’Aubusson and the newly formed fortress was named after the chapel inside it. It was largely thanks to the fortress that the Knights Hospitaller were able to fend off attacks from the Turks for so many years. Major sieges by the Turks were mounted in 1480 and 1522-23. The initial attack was thwarted, but the Turks ended up seizing Rhodes in 1522, and the Knights were forced to leave the city. When the fortress was built, it took into account that the Ottoman's use of cannons and other siege weaponry and its thick walls were impermeable for many years. Indeed, considering their age, they are in excellent condition to this day. The fortress is hugely popular with visitors these days, and it has been well preserved. You can walk along the path of the former moat, which has been dried out and provides a scenic, tree lined walking path. It was built between 1460 and 1467 by the Grand Master of the Order of St. John Zacosta. It suffered severe damage in the siege of 1480 (by the Turks) and by the earthquake of 1481. It was reoaired by Grand Master D’ Aubusson. The castle was built at the place of an old Byzantine church dedicated to St. Nicholas, hence the name. Since the 17th century, a lighthouse was added at the top. For the last 15 years, a major reconstruction project of the fort is in progress.

A beautiful renovated fortress with a lighthouse standing in front of the harbor. You can get to it by going along the windmills. It's a pity that you can only see this building from the outside. It is not possible to enter it.

The Rhodes (Rodos) old town and the marina next to it was amazing! Worth visiting.

Impressive. Unfortunately, it cannot be visited from the inside, so tourists have to be content with the outside view.

Can't walk in but still nice to look at and admire the architecture

It is a historic place where civilisation has had its progress and turmoils over 2500 years. What remains are ruins of these activities but some parts are kept remarkably well-preserved, despite weathering and earthquakes. This place in Rhodes Island, Greece is laid back and harks to a slower pace of life. Worth visiting.

The Colossus is long gone and it only exists in the ancient text books. It’s very likely it stood right here at the entrance or the part. In fact, under the nearby fort archeologists have found big foundations for an unknown purpose. It is said to be as high as the Statue of Liberty. Unfortunately an earthquake destroyed and one of the oracles said it should be rebuilt, and they followed his word. You come here to marvel to what once stood here. Now there’s nothing left.

Not much to see now, but just to be in the spot of a former ancient wonder is exciting. Now it seems to be a favorite fishing place for locals. Right across the street from a new wonder: Starbucks. A wonder that people drink that garbage coffee when this island offers hundreds of other choices.

Beautiful Port area with so much history, with modern restaurants, beach bars and clubs right next to the Old City Castle

The Colossus of Rhodes was a magnificent statue of the Greek sun god Helios, erected in the city of Rhodes on the Greek island of the same name by Chares of Lindos around 280 BC. It was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and stood approximately 33 meters (108 feet) high, which is about the height of the modern Statue of Liberty from feet to crown. The statue was constructed to celebrate Rhodes’ successful defense against a siege by Demetrius I of Macedon. Unfortunately, it stood for only about 56 years before collapsing due to an earthquake in 226 BC. The remains were left in place until 653 AD, when they were sold by invading Arab forces. Despite its destruction, the Colossus of Rhodes remains a symbol of triumph and ingenuity, and there have been discussions about constructing a new Colossus at Rhodes Harbour, although these plans have not yet been realized. The exact location of the original monument is still a matter of debate.

Unfortunately, only the place where the Colossus of Rhodes once stood has survived. However, it is interesting to sit on the pier, watch the local fishermen and realize that here was one of the seven wonders of the world.

Did a day trip to simi so went under where Colossus would of stood. The view back into the harbour to the old walls make you think of all the battles and foot fall has see the same view. Stopped of at a bay for a dip. Went into simi for a few hrs, wow what a cracking place all the houses look roman style very picturesque well worth a visit

I think that you should have seen this place if you are already in Rhodes town. From the right side it is a longer and very sunny path with little shade. However, you can see the windmills of Rhodes and enjoy a beautiful view of the sea. If the weather is right, a view of Turkey is possible. Also the yachts on the way are sometimes very impressive. In the end, with a lot of imagination, you can perhaps imagine how the Colossus of Rhodes stood on the two pedestals ;). No ticket necessary

I love it here. It’s fun to learn about the history. The marina has a small welcoming feel. However, there are some larger ships and the size can be deceiving. It contains such a variety with 35’ or 12 meter boats having slips here.

Sadly no colossus here today as it was destroyed by earthquake centuries ago but with some imagination you can imagine where it once stood welcoming ships into the harbor (and perhaps frightening them and projecting power). Today the small narrow streets and shops are still a joy to walk amongst.

Very nice walk along the harbour and the old town walls leads you right out towards the sea opening. Lovely to walk around and see the remains from years ago as well as gawping at all the boats / yachts. Also, if you’re a cat lover there are plenty around. Locals have even set up bed and food donations - very cute. Great scenery and good day out

Rhodes old town is stunning. Loads of great bars and restaurants and souvenir shops. The port area is good for walking around, posh yacht and cruise liner watching.

Wonderful living medieval town, although many touristic shops. We had a walking guide so we heard the stories around every corner. I advise you to prepare and read/watch a little history of the many civilizations who passed through here and left their marks.

Incredible place to visit day or night (do both if in town). Time has stood still and the architecture design is incredible considering the thousands of years most of these buildings have been standing. Great shopping experience and plenty of good restaurants.

Very beautiful, takes a long time to walk around, in the night time it is so pretty yo walk around, all the shops and everything. You can pay to go visit the tower and you also gets a free drink if you do so. There was lots of street cats. And some parts of the walk around the town on the outside of it, if you walk where its trees and plants something has a very strong smell.

One of the highlights of Rhodes. A bustling market full of food, clothes, toys, souvenirs, Jewellery and all fun at the same time. Historical ventures too. Update… Mama Sofia is definitely worth a try if eating. Fair prices aswell as tasty hearty food.

The old Town of Rhodes is one of kind in Greece. It is the only historical town with a Gothic architecture. The town is quite large, there are lots of quiet alley and hidden places to explore, so you never feel too crowded. On the downside, parking is not easy to find if you arrive after 8am. I am also surprised that the local people are not forbidden to drive their vehicles into the narrow streets inside the town, which creates unnecessary road noise, and safety hazard for pedestrians sharing the same narrow road (see photos).

At fantastic historical city that can transport you back in time. Very well preserved medieval architecture with fascinating alleyways to fuel childhood memories of far off, exotic locals. You can spend days in this city exploring, discovering, eating, shopping and imagining.

This is one of the best kept medieval castles in Europe's entirety. This location is full of History and Greek Heritage. This castle has history going back to 408 BC and the walls protect an estimated 175 000 square meters. There are plenty of shop's to visit, restaurants and cafes. I recommend you visit this place.

Nice huge are of the old town of Rhodes, that's been a heritage of the ancient times here in Greece. Lots of interesting historical places to visit and worth visiting, however seems like many if them haven't been much renovated, nor reconstructed for the future generations. What also surprised me was lacking descriptions, information on specific architectural places, buildings, statues, etc. All I could have known was what I did learn and read myself before this visit.

Plenty to see, do and eat. Nice cobbled streets with market stalls, restaurants, drink shops. Restaurants are typical tourist traps and over priced but it's in the middle of everything. Nice terrace roof top restaurants with great views.

Leave plenty of time to explore the museum and Palace. The small streets full of so many different small shops, eating and drinking places,are amazing, and stretch for what seems like a warren of miles. I loved it and loved the atmosphere. Shops are small and sell everything from gold jewelry, artisan home made or designed goods, local delicacies, the list goes on

I normally hate anywhere that's too crowded or too touristy. But Rhodes Old Town is just..charming! The bustle of people just adds to it, and because there are so many alleys and hidden alcoves to explore the crowd, it is never overwhelming. In fact, plenty of times you feel you're the only ones exploring this unique and beautiful place. So, shops. Plenty! From stunning jewellery to fridge magnets. Good prices and lots of choice Food. So many Tavernas and bars! Some in the main squares others hidden down alleys, and all seemed busy. We saw lots of big portions going out though, so you may not need starters! History. You can spend as much or as little time taking in all the History of the City, visit the museums and the ruins, or just walk around inside the City walls and feel like you've gone back in time. Whether you want to or not, the culture will find you! It's just a great place to visit.

A beautiful town with the contrast of old and new. Every bit of tat imaginable is for sale. We went Sunday so parking is free in most places plus it's a big change over day so a touch quieter. The castle was a good hour well wasted. The cafes in the square's will pull your pants down but if you surprised that's on you. The harbour is nice, with the Colossus replacement goats etc. The acropolis and theater are worth the walk.

A romantic, mesmerising place to visit. Lots of shops offering all types of goodies from Olive wood products to gold and silver shops. Some of the best places to eat in the area too. Very friendly locals who just love to make sure your visit is a memorable one.

It's definitely the best castle experience I've had. The history and grandeur of the castle are overwhelming. What is also amazing is that people live and work within the castle walls.

Fantastic experience walking through the historical streets of medieval Rhodes. Many shops and lots of life. Lovely views all around. Coffee shops, restaurants and tavernas available. Quite busy and full of life. Beautiful ruins all around. Would recommend
