An incredible day out. Plenty of parking on arrival and staff super friendly when greeting and getting tickets sorted. Provided with a map by a lovely lady who talked us through navigating the park. Wandered for a few hours and followed the trails, beautiful views, great to see the wild deer and the location is just so peaceful. Gardens and orchid are so peaceful and a must see! Ended our trip in the coffee shop, cappuccino x2 and an Americano with a round of cakes which were lovely!! Courtyard was beautiful and had a great buzz with lots of people which was great to see. Garden shop was beautiful with everything well presented, staff very friendly throughout the day. Thank you for a great experience, we will return!!

This is a fantastically restored stately home. the rooms have been restored and decorated to such a high standard and the level of history is fantastic. every room is steeped in history and has a wow factor to it. The grounds are fantastic also with some amazing walks and a vegetable / flower garden that is a must see. There is thing for kids to-do but ours are grown up so we didn't experience these.

Lovely place to wander around. Beautiful grounds and worth visiting now to see the blankets of snowdrops! Went into the servants area at the back of the mansion which was interesting and well laid out with plenty of information. Slightly vague lady at the entrance who looked at you rather blankly when you spoke to her - most odd! Rather disappointing the main house was not open even though it said it was on the NT website, and nothing mentioned when you arrived saying otherwise. Amazing stable yard it must have been once and nice to see some of the old stalls still in place. Super friendly people in the book shop and lots to look at. Nice shop although prices seem to increased noticeably since last visit to a NT shop. Great cafe with nice food and decent coffee. River very flooded and gushing through under the bridges by the deer park, may have been even higher at one point. Great to see lots of deer too! Well worth a visit - also great to see many people with their dogs too!

Great day out, went especially to see the Christmas decorations. The house has a beautiful tree in each room and lots to see inside. Staff members were very efficient in being at the door ensuring you were in your time slot for the house and giving information. Outside on the grounds were plenty of different walks (short and long) and is lots to see. Coffee shop on site with some food and tables for picnics and coffees. Went to the toilets a couple of times and each time they were clean and tidy. Great place, would go again x

Such a beautiful place. The grounds are enormous and there are lots of walks. Lots to see and lots to do. The house is simply gorgeous. It is a must see place. Staff are friendly and helpful. Toilets extremely clean and spotless. Cafe is reasonably priced which is unusual for any NT property as they are normally unbelievably expensive. Love having deckchairs all over the grounds. Sitting by the river watching the world go by was just lovely. It is a jewel in the crown for the NT. Take a picnic and enjoy

So I went here on Easter weekend (Saturday) & it was packed, so it's clearly a popular place to go. My view is it was well worth the long drive to get there (nether mind the lovely weather) but Attingham Park, has a big park land to walk around I only did the perimeter walk. A couple of signs with information on about the area. For anyone who is not good at walking the walk gose over grass mud wooden bridges woodland areas & proper made paths in some places.

Gorgeous mansion in extensive grounds. Different walking routes around the grounds, depending on how far you'd like to walk. Mansion is beautifully presented with staff who are very friendly and welcoming with great knowledge. Plenty of toilets around, food area and play equipment for children. The flowers in the walled garden were lovely but I did expect to see more in there. Purchased an ice cream from the van, not many flavours to choose from. One scoop was £3.20 then a flake was an additional 50p - quite expensive for the ice cream. Book shop on site with a wide variety of texts, all at fantastic prices - you can either pay with cash into the honesty box or take them to the shop to pay on card. Seems a very popular national trust as it was quite busy there - visited on a weekend. Spent a around 3 hours here but would have happily stayed longer to do the bigger walking route. The map at this location is not as good or detailed as the maps in other national trusts I have visited but still did the job guiding us from a to b.

Excellent property to visit dogs, they can go nearly everywhere on a lead and an area that is set aside for them to be off the lead. The house is an enjoyable and interesting property showing the life of the aristocracy with a flat entrance for disabled visitors. The tea rooms are large and popular with visitors with a selection of meals and cakes. There is also a good shop selling National trust products and gifts. The car park is large with a decent size plot for disabled drivers, the staff are most helpful and willing to assist in any way they can. There are deer in the park which you can get quite close to for photographs. It’s a great family day out

I love Attingham. Amazing walks, streams, greenery (what's not to like) I also personally love seeing a the fallow deer. They always have great little things going on throughout the year, and was decorated so nicely for Christmas 😊

This is a great place to visit. Plenty to see inside the mansion and really interesting. There is also the fantastic walled gardens and play fields to explore anytime of the year. There is a large estate and several suggested walks. There is a large deer park and we spotted many deer. As you would expect with National Trust, there is a car park, toilets and cafe.

Superb facilities for walking, children and relaxing. Combination of walled and natural gardens highlights the very best of seasonal colours and forms. Personally the blanket of snowdrops is stunning. Suggest taking a picnic blanket and plenty of drinks on a hot day, but plenty of units open during peak season.

The house and grounds are both fantastic. It's very child friendly as well, especially with the huge play area with hay bales. The walled garden was particularly beautiful.

Attingham Park was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We sought out the room guidebooks to better appreciate the art. The volunteers were knowledgeable and shared their passion for history with us when we inquired about the rooms and artwork. We had a lovely visit exploring the house and definitely recommend it.

Fab way to spend your day. Lovely house to look around. And huge grounds. There is a play area for children, a walled garden and large woodland walks. Bridges, weirs and lakes to admire. And of course a walk through the Deer park. Dogs welcome. Cafes, takeaway and a shop. Lots of parking space.We had a lovely 3 mile walk through the woods and deer park and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Attingham Mansion at Christmas as usual a superb display. Congratulations to everyone involved. The theme & interpretation in decorating the trees and rooms was beautiful. It shows what a lot of hard work goes into creating such an experience. I look forward to coming again next year and being surprised

A typical manor house from way back, it is in pretty good condition for its age and the gardens are surprisingly good considering we went early winter! It's well worth a visit and kill a few hours.

Great half day out. Lots of walks and views. Interesting manor and helpful guides with most rooms furnished and information books. Large café with indoor and outdoor seating. Dog friendly. Very large outdoor play / adventure area for kids. Plenty of free parking, gift shop (a little pricey but high quality) and a secondhand book shop.

A really nice weekend trip. Could only go on the smaller walk route due to flooding in the other areas. The walled garden was not bad. Had coffee at the stables and the brownie from the cafe is definitely a must have. Restrooms also very clean

Beautiful park grounds with lots of running area for your 🐕 It has amazing gardens. Well worth a stop. Plus the river being so close you can walk along that to or from the Quarry.

The quarry is a beautiful park on the bank of the river seven. There are lots of things to see. There is a nice bandstand and an unusual war memorial. The suspension footbridge over the river leads to the Boathouse pub with a nice garden overlooking the river.

Love visiting this park. Walked along by the river and up over the toll bridge and back along the other side. Great walks. Great park. Great playground for the kids. Coffee facilities and ice-cream a plenty. And all just a short walk from Shrewsbury town centre. Great place to go for a day out with the kids.

Beautiful park. Well looked after. Has a playground with a wet play area in the summer, kids will go nuts I'm sure! Amazing sights with restrooms and large field for sports & dog walking.

Had a lovely flying visit to The Quarry in Shrewsbury before catching my train. What a stunning garden area with plenty of benches to sit and breathe in the beautiful scent of flowers, listen to nature and embrace the pure tranquility of the calming area. Very close to a pond and the River Severn. Great place to enjoy a picnic, walk the dog or just chill. Will definitely be making another longer visit. I would highly recommend a visit. I wish I had taken some photos!

The Quarry park, best park to be with family to spend your valuable time. Bit crowded during weekends and peak hours. Lot of space available for jogging and cycling. Snack bar and public toilets available. Boating and Sunday roast available.

Lovely park by the river, playground & water park for the children. Flowers & water features in the dell for the grown-ups. Great outdoor café with tasty Cheshire farm ice cream.

I recently visited Quarry Park in Shrewsbury and I must say, it was a breathtaking experience. The park is situated alongside a beautiful river and the surrounding landscape is absolutely stunning. The tranquility and peacefulness of the park made me feel like I was miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city. One of the highlights of the park for me was the abundance of beautiful flowers that were in bloom. The vibrant colors and fragrances of the flowers were truly amazing and added to the overall beauty of the park. The park is also well-maintained and there are plenty of benches and seating areas where you can relax and take in the stunning views. It's a perfect spot for a picnic or just a leisurely walk. The river running through the park adds a special touch to the already amazing landscape. It's a great spot to sit and watch the water flow by

A beautiful park to visit for anyone but especially families. There is a riverside walk, children's play area, cafeteria & "The Dingle" is particularly lovely, even more so in summer when the flower borders are a blaze of colour. The town centre is just a short walk away. There are also many events throughout the year including music festivals, (see pic) :-)

18th March 2023 Visit. Beautiful park, The Dingle (The Queen Mother's Garden) is well worth a visit, watch out for closing time. On our recent visit the Spring flowers were blooming, it was beautiful. There are clean toilets in the park and café. Big children's playground. The beautiful river Severn flows by the park over which is an interesting suspension bridge. Ideal food and drinks are served from the scenic pub over the bridge. Well worth a visit.

It's a great park, especially on a sunny day. Some interesting buildings around and next to river. Good place for a picnic. Kids playground and toilets. Everything you could need, right in the centre of city.

Love this park! 😍 The ground is big - you can just relax, walk, have a picnic or watch the day go by. St Chad Church just nearby that adds up to the beauty of the park 🏞️. Beautiful even on rainy days like this 🌧️

Our first visit to Shrewsbury and this visit to the prison is one to remember. The atmosphere is cold, eerie and imaginatively harrowing, as one would imagine for an ex-Victorian prison. Graham, our tour guide infused a good measure of humour and sobriety from his own 38 years of prison officer experience -- in what is, for most of us, a subject of fiction, movies and media. Some of his stories will make your spine tingle. Others will make you uncomfortable, lose your appetite. A visual and experiential deterrent, injecting a fear of God into those flirting with the law. Not to be missed.

Loved our visit here today. We took the guided tour with Dan and he was awesome. Very informative and made it really interesting. If you're considering going, take the tour. Without it, it'll more of a visual and less informative.

Unusual and interesting visitor's attraction. We opted for the self-guided tour where you could just wander around and follow the route in the brochure. This was nice as it allowed you to explore at your own pace. There was signage, audio etc. on certain areas which helped explain some more of the details of the prison. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Overall I'd recommend a visit if you're in the area and are curious about what the inside of a prison looks like!

If you like dark, gritty places with history and edge behind them, there is nowhere better than the Victorian Shrewsbury prison. Having only ceased being a vessel of incarceration as recently as 2013(so recently that Google took two visits to capture Street View photos when it was still a working prison) there is a lot of interesting facts and information to uncover. Guided tours are available, but you can also freely explore as well. There is also the opportunity to partake in an escape room, a challenging but very exciting experience. Our escape room guides were very entertaining and helpful, and thanks to them we narrowily won the game, earning a well deserved free drinks voucher for use in the restaurant. Speaking of the restaurant, the food is exceptionally good and the staff are very friendly and approachable. I got a free hot chocolate which was absolutely delicious and to die for- it was probably the best one I have ever had!

We opted for the guided tour from an ex prison guard. The tour was very informative and was well worth the cost of admission. You will also find a small cafe inside that sells cakes and various drinks.

First time I've been into a prison; interesting experience. I went with my partner and two primary school age children, all of us thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were good, we were welcomed at reception with 'What are you in for?'! Good displays, dealing with slightly macabre subjects in a child friendly way. I imagine the building is basically as left when the Prison Service moved out, it certainly had a prison feel about the place. Free to wander or go on a guided tour, we did the former, but bumped into a tour in several places on the way round, and the guide seemed to be entertaining. Cafe, small shop, plenty of toilets and easy to find. No complaints!

Great staff here. Lady that greeted us gave us the run down even though we didn't buy tickets ahead of time. Self tour was great but we do recommend the guided tour as you'll get much more history behind the prison. The guided tour takes about 2 hours which is why we sadly couldn't do it. So auch history here. Be sure to give yourself enough time.

Harrowing, cold and harsh prison. Extremely cold, no heating apart from cafe. How they stayed warm in winter is beyond me, as it was warmer outside and when we visited and it was SNOWING outside. Be sure to wrap up warm. We did the self tour and took about 2 hours. Cafe and toilet facilities. Car park 🅿️ opposite prison, also larger car park nearby. Lots of signs to explain the cells etc. There was even a haunted cell. Also brutal, harrowing hanging room. Definitely worth a visit. (Just wrap up warm) The excellent 3 part documentary (TIME) was filmed here (also episode of the apprentice and more) Hopefully the photos do it justice…

Our overnight stay was an amazing and unforgettable experience. The staff were very informative and friendly with lots of stories to tell. The tour was great then we were free to explore the prison. After the lights went out it was extremely dark and a little scary which just added to the whole experience when we heard bangs and crashes throughout the night. The cells were very basic which we expected and it was very cold in the prison An unforgettable experience and highly recommended

I booked my ticket late on the evening before the actual tour date. When I rang shortly after they opened for the day, I was the only one on that day's tour. I was very glad to see that a couple booked in the morning of the tour date. The husband was 12 years older than me and that figured in many of his and my responses to what we were hearing. The tour guide, Matt, was very considerate and gave us warnings where necessary about how to safely get through sections of the tour. That doesn't mean it was difficult but you had to be careful. Only in accessing the final section were the stairs significantly narrower. For me, seeing the view from the FOURTH level would be incentive enough never to offend again, if I were ever to offend in the first place. Each part of the procedures was explained from the point at which they were admitted to prison right through to ultimate execution, where required. The layouts of the different cells were explained as were the various attitudes of inmates and the procedures in dealing with these. It was two hours very well spent. I can highly recommend this to all. We were given the option not to see the final part of the tour, if we wanted to. It is not for the faint-hearted and is a far cry from the T.V. series "Porridge". I might add that I had travelled for close on three hours by train from Barry in South Wales to get there. It was a great day-filler.

We went for the night behind bars experience. We had a great time. There were a few groups who were there for a laugh which fair play everyone goes for their own experience. Would definitely recommend it though. Staff were amazing! The gift shop could do with a restock though. Planning another visit next year.

Visited Shrewsbury Prison on the 2 hour tour and it was very enjoyable and informative. Situated close to the train station and easily accessible, parking opposite I believe. The prison was operational up until recently(2015) and gives an idea of how life in prison is today and how this compares to Victorian times when the prison opened. Our tour guide Liz was very knowledgeable and engaging and did a great job considering there was maybe 30 or more on our tour. There appeared to be lots of attractions in addition to the tour such as escape rooms and lock ups, where you spend the night in the prison, as well as people just walking around self guided. Excellent attraction and would recommend if you’re in the area.

Fantastic day out. Plenty of parking and well worth the admission price. Being able to take dogs is a welcome change from most places like this that you can visit. Friendly staff in the main reception / shop who are more than happy to take the time to explain the activities to you on arrival. Walks are excellent and the whole area is amazing. Well laid out paths and signs will take you on the route you choose. So nice to be able to do things like climb the tower when most would have closed this off to the public. 100% would recommend it to families / couples / groups or anyone wanting a walk around some nice grounds.

We had a lovely afternoon with a guided tour. 100% worth booking, as it’s £50 for up to six people and you get a landrover journey up through the hardest parts of the trail. The follies themselves are magnificent and mysterious in their own right. The walk is worth it just for the views at the top. It’s muddy and wet and sloppy in places so not an easy route by any means but a great place to introduce kids to hiking as there’s so many places to encounter and explore on the route.

Amazing walk, lots to do for young children from the play area to activities and stuff to look out for. We spent around 3 hours completing the full route including the strenuous lower path which was good fun. The dog loved all the caves, he led most the way, apart from over the rope bridge where he let us walk first. Would recommend it to anyone who loves adventure.

We've been here a lot, it's a stunning location with some history behind it. There's a few walks through the stunning landscape. You'll be walking through rhododendron jungles, amongst huge fir trees and along gorgeous sandstone cliffs. There are caves, gulley's and bridges. Small children will cope but there are some steeper climbs with steps to get up. There a cafe at the start and halfway through. Dog friendly, I think they need to be on leads.

The first thing that we encountered on our trip here was very friendly and informative staff. We visited the whole area and completed all the routes in approximately 3 hours, including going up the 150 steps to the top of the Monument, well worth it! A lot of effort must go into maintaining the park as we were the first ones there on opening and all of the paths had been cleared. Hawkstone Follies has to be one of the best places to visit in Shropshire. There is so much to see along the trails. There are lots of steps and rugged steep parts but this makes it more fun. There are also areas suitable for children. Suitable footwear is advised ! After our walk we had a coffee and a delicious slice of fresh cake at The glass house tearoom. Very reasonably priced. This trip is worth every penny and we will be returning

Second time visit with 2 teenagers in tow (16 & 14) and they loved it too. They are happy walkers anyway but the trails, caves etc gave them opportunity to revert to their younger selves and it was lovely to see them acting a bit daft and exploring again. When you consider the amount of paths etc to maintain and the amount of time you can spend there, the price (online cheaper) is reasonable. Plenty of picnicing benches available throughout the estate so take your lunch and enjoy the views. Great that it's dog friendly too. Great family day out and will be back 😍

What an adventure we had here! 3 hours walk with lots of steps and climbing, beautiful scenery, dark caves and fun games for the kids. (The Monument has 150 steps up- we counted them! 😅) Entrance fee is a bit pricey, but the whole park is kept clean and in good condition. Definitely will return, thank you 😊

Beautiful place to explore, adventure around every corner or rather up and down every step. Perfect place for a few hours of exploring caves, monuments, trees etc. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Fantastic place to visit... wet and windy day but didn't spoil the trip ... got everything you'd want to see and do on a walk .. tunnels,caves,towers ravines and bridges to name a few .. Will definitely visit again in the summer...

It's a really magical and enchanting trail through carefully managed woodland. Every twist and turn surprises and delights. There are nooks and crannies with views, which are great for resting with a cake and a tea from our picnic bag, a big tower to climb up with amazing views, spooky paths underneath twisted ancient rhododendrons, unexpected tunnels, a massive cavern with cliff top view points, an exciting bridge across a magical gulley and an interesting and demanding walk along a sandstone ridge. We spent 4.5 hrs there and we were knackered by the end of it. But very happy. Such a great day out and excellent value. Walking boots are a good idea and there are plenty of places for picnics and stopping for a tea from our flasks. Bring plenty of water and be aware that the cafe closes before the park. We got back to the cafe at 4:30pm but it was closed, so it probably closed at 4pm. We were ready for tea and cake so we went to the Bear Inn in the local village which was very pleasant and did hot drinks. You must visit if you haven't been before.

Absolutely amazing place! The full 2-3 hour trail requires a fair level of fitness or a slow pace as there are a lot of steps and some steep inclines. Definitely takes longer than 2-3 hours if you have kids or want to stop for photos as often as we did! Also, a phone torch for some of the passages won't be strong enough - would recommend a proper torch or head torch. Had a great day out and will definitely return!

What a lovely place to visit. Certainly tested out fitness as a family but the area was just beautiful. Lots of walking so make sure you wear appropriate footwear. Different roots you can take, we mainly followed the enchanted trail (although we did detour a bit at times). The children could explore the area, search for fairies, trolls and dragons and also build dens. The kids loved the caves, make sure you bring a torch as they are pitch black but the kids found this very exciting!! We went up to the top of the monument, the view was amazing!! The stairs are a little steep and felt a bit dizzy going round and round to get to the top but was worth it! Lovely little cafe and toilets there and the man who served us on admission was very friendly and helpful! Dog friendly also. Free parking. Plenty of picnic areas throughout also. A lovely hidden gem!!

This is a must visit. We absolutely loved it. You do need some sort of fitness level. Some of it it steep when you climb some steps and the goes going down. There is also narrow gorges and dark tunnels and caves to explore.

Had a lovely walk although the rhododendron Forrest was really muddy. Some great views and would definitely return

We’ve just come away from a lovely visit, and have spent 1-1.5 hours here. We read the reviews and knew to expect a fairly small set up. We have thoroughly enjoyed a more personalised experience with two members of staff, who are clearly very passionate about the welfare of the birds, knowledgeable and keen on providing a customer experience. It sounds as though there are plans to enhance the setup and we look forward to seeing the developments.

Went on the 2 hour hawk walk it was really enjoyable.The hawk landed on everyones arm at least twice lots of photo opportunities.lots of different birds to see owls,eagle owls and hawks and more.very informative and fun.also provided with hot drink and biscuits.would highly recommend you can also just visit this small independent center and see the birds.

We originally went to attend the battle of Shrewsbury reenactment, and noticed the bird of prey center. What a fantastic place! The staff were all amazing, very helpful, and very informative. Entrance is free, with the option to make a donation ( which we did). When looking at the birds I noticed a sign saying you could handle a bird for £2, so we did. What a fantastic experience! And for only £2 ! We loved our time there, and would definitely recommend. Thank you to the staff, you were all fab!

I booked my wife and I onto the owl handling experience for 2. Firstly, walking around the centre, you can tell they take great pride and passion in their birds. The cages and birds are very well looked after and in great condition. There's loads of information about the birds, and the staff are very willing to answer any questions. The owl handling was great, and again its very clear the staff have a lot of passion for the birds and know a great deal but are very honest if you ask a question they can't answer. We handled 4 owls in total of different sizes and flew 3 of them. It was such a great experience and I'd definitely recommend it for anyone.

It is a little falconry centre, which is behind Battlefield 1403 farm shop. Admission fee is reasonable. You can see the birds so close. It is worth to visit, but I would not come again soon. Strongly recommended if you are a bird lover.

Such an amazing experience, guide Lisa was lovely and knowledgeable, birds stunning, so amazing to have a owl standing on your arm, next door but not connected to the bird place is a lovely farm shop and a great cafe, pigs and sheep, so much to see and do, highly recommended. 😀😀

Fanastic place. A very kind man working there showed us around and shared his extensive knowledge of all the birds. Very reasonably priced 5.50 per adult. Great selection of birds. My favourite was the teeny tiny scops owls, very cuteee

We booked a personal experience with Lisa at the last minute. She readily accommodated and found time for us the next day. Her enthusiasm for the birds was infectious and she readily shared knowledge and stories about her work. We had exposure to 4 different birds and we each took turns having them fly to us. It was a great experience I can’t recommend enough. Book ahead.

This is a great place to visit. such a variety of birds, all very well looked after. The staff were fantastic and for a donation you can even hold some of the birds. Its a small business but the owner is a fantastic woman and my wife and i wish her all the best. This is 100% recommended. Tickets for adults is £5.50 each, apparently some people think this is excessive but we thought it was well worth the price. I cannot say enough about how good this is.

Great visit today. Lots of beautiful owls and hawks, clearly excellently looked after. Good activity sheet for kids to do. Warm welcome by engaging and helpful proprietress. And next door to the superb 1403 cafe and farm shop. Very much recommended.

This place was amazing! We were the only ones there so Paul gave us a personal tour full with lots of fun facts and personal information about each bird they cared for. You could tell he had passion for his job. He was very lovely and friendly and happy to answer all our questions and have a laugh. Made our experience one to remember. Thank you Paul. This place was only small so not a full day thing, but also has a cafe, farm shop and butchers on site which was packed. (So must be good!) We could not get a parking space but parked down the road and walked. The car pack gets filled with all the customers from the farm shop. All in all good experience. ☺💕

Took our 10 year old granddaughter for a “one to one “ experience with Lisa. Absolutely brilliant, Lisa gently put our granddaughter at ease as she flew 4 different birds. Very smart “ setup” and clearly the birds are very much cherished. Thank you- we’ll definitely be back.

The experiences are amazing, the walk hawk and owl experience was brilliant, very informative, friendly, hands on experience, would definitely recommend, we will definitely be returning for further experience

It’s a brilliant place to spend a few hours, there is so much to look at and so much to learn. The building itself is so beautiful. All the staff there are so friendly and polite . The cafe was so nice, the food was delicious, although perhaps a little overpriced. There was also so much for children to do, so many different puzzles and activities to participate in. The gift shop at the end was so cute and had so much to offer. Will be coming back.

Recently visited Shrewsbury museum. Booked in advance and was pleasantly surprised. This is a really interesting place. Especially the roman exhibitions. There's a wealth of interesting artifacts to see. The staff are very nice and helpful they will explain the exhibits if you ask them too. There is a cafe and public toilets 🚻. The museum is ideally located. If you visit Shrewsbury please pop in you'll not regret it.

Really wonderful museum! Lots of very thoughtful interactive things for the children, gorgeous café and courtyard area and some impressive exhibits. I've been to lots of metropolitan museums (London, Paris, Copenhagen, Edinburgh etc.) but I have to say that this was my all time favourite! ❤️

went in to visit the museum, its open but i wasnt able to enter for i didnt booked a visit.( sad but understandable b'coz of covid) either way i walked around and its beautiful and am truly amazed on its hidden jems. i'll definitely come back to roam and visit the museum. next time i'll book in advance!😜

Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery has been updated. There are various galleries on different floors. Part of the museum is in an old music hall. Different buildings have been linked together. There are toilets on most flliescsnd a trendy carbon the ground floor and a nice shop. The museum is free to enter.

Nicely repurposed historic building. So much better now its free. Local history & collections with temporary exhibition. Loved the Dali statue in the courtyard while we are delicious food. Staff were friendly & helpful. We look forward to visiting again.

An excellent place to spend a few hours learning all about the history of Shrewsbury and Shropshire. They have many local artefacts dating from the stone age right through to the modern era. Also included is a cafe and a gift shop where you can get books and all sorts of items with a local connection. Well worth a visit.

Great Place and its so beautiful in the old theatre, which is where the museum is now. I have fond memories of seeing pantomimes and Brigadoon which is why I went to see the exhibition on the theatre. Also Wilfred Owen a War Hero who lived on Monkmoor Road in Shrewsbury and I went to the primary school named after him.

Fantastic, well worth a visit! It's free too but please contribute if you can. Great selection of works of art by world famous artists. The volunteers are very friendly and helpful. Will visit again without doubt.

Another of those local musems with interesting items. However, this does what it says on the can as it were. There is a little something for everyone.

A very well curated museum detailing many historical artifacts from the area. Throughout the museum there is a story to follow which brings the history to life. There is a special exhibition hall on the top floor. Particularly loved the Banksy and the David Hockney pieces. Manned by volunteers who are very knowledgeable and are eager to share their knowledge. Thankyou - really enjoyed our visit. @MyBucketListAt60

Really interesting museum, all about the Roman history of the town, right up to modern day and some of the famous past residents, like Charles Darwin. Building itself is also beautiful. Totally free.

Absolutely brilliant Christmas Pantomime! Fabulous venue Great cast flipping marvellous. People from all over the world 🌎 enjoying some laughter, happiness with family and friends, just a pity the whole world can't feel the same. For just a small moment in time.

A great theatre and easily accessible to locals and visitors. A lovely modern building. Attractive, spacious and comfortable. The cafe and bar are pleasant to relax and unwind in. There is plenty of seating areas to enjoy a quieter moment also. The shows are plentiful and varied.

Friday 21st April My first visit to this theatre and must say I am very impressed by it . A lovely auditorium set on three floors with comfy seating and plenty of leg room. A well equipped bar if you fancy a tipple and a great view from the balcony. The staff were pleasant which always helps . Tpau were performing and were amazing, Carol Decker was brilliant chatting with the sell out crowd and singing from the heart . A good time was had by all .

Went to see the Swinging Blue Jeans and the New Amen Corner. A thoroughly enjoyable night. Theatre was quiet in general for a Thursday evening. No queues for drinks ,coffees etc. Theatre spotless . Toilets very clean. Staff friendly. Amen Corner were brilliant.

Pleasant enough although bar is pricey. Main theatre is very good, small Walker theatre could be anywhere and feels a bit budget. Worth taking your own sweets and drinks

We love this theater, add to that a superb Spanish restaurant 30 seconds away, town center location and our Hotel just two minutes walk serving amongst other favourites Belgium beers "leffe" all adds up to make a perfect getaway.

I recently had the pleasure of attending the pantomime starring Brad Fitt and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. The comedic timing and energy from the entire cast had the audience in stitches throughout the show. Brad Fitt's performance was truly exceptional and had everyone in the palm of his hand. The production was a visual feast with dazzling costumes and impressive sets, creating a magical atmosphere that transported the audience into the world of the story. The entire cast, including stand out performances from Lucas Rush, Erin Armstrong, Reece Duncan, and Laura Dene-Perryman, brought their A-game and captivated the audience with their talent and charisma. I must also mention the adorable and lovable Rita Muffin, who stole the show with her charm and personality. This pantomime was a true gem, and I'm thrilled to have discovered Shrewsbury's hidden talent for producing top-notch pantomimes. If you're looking for a night of fun, laughter, and entertainment, I highly recommend catching this pantomime. It's a five-star experience that the whole family can enjoy. Don't miss out on this wonderful production!

Love this theatre, so lucky to have this on our doorstep in Shropshire. Have been on a few occasions and always had a great experience. Visited today for the pantomime, great seats and good view, plenty of room in your seat which isn't always a given for theaters

Came here a couple of months ago with my lovely Mum. We were recommended this Theatre when we used to visit the venue at Llangollen with West End Productions. Anyway, we only this year paid it a visit. It is a very well laid Theatre on the river which is very pleasant. Staff very kind and thoughtful with us. Jack & the Beanstalk- what a Dame, I’ve seen Pink & Lady Gaga & the Dame had more costume changes! Visited with primary school children & the organisation was brilliant & everyone thoroughly enjoyed the show, adults & children alike. Thank you for an amazing production.

Impressive abbey, steeped in history, just a short walk from the Shrewsbury town centre. Shrewsbury Abbey Founded 1083 The Saxons had a church here before the Normans came - following the Conquest of 1066. As a Benedictine Abbey, started in 1083, it was one of the most influential foundations in England. Its Chapter House saw one of the first democratic parliaments in the land and one of its Abbots pleaded for long hours with Henry IV and Harry Hotspur to try to avoid the bloody Battle of Shrewsbury in 1403. Although the building is steeped in history, it is a place of contemporary Christian witness and worship. It is the parish church of the Holy Cross and, with its daughter church of Saint Peter, serves a large area of north and east Shrewsbury. Car park, toilets.

Had a wonderful visit this week,and was so happy and surprised that they did midday prayers which I was thrilled about . Beautiful Abbey full of history,and loved the cadfael Information. Lovely gift shop,and amazing volunteers. It's free too,they just ask for a donation..

Wonderful Abbey with a fascinating history. The staff are very welcoming and friendly offering lots of information and insights to this historical site. A quiet oasis on the outskirts of the busy town. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

A great shame that this is nearly all that is left of a once substantial monastery, you can see where parts of the monastery were demolished on the outside of the Abbey. Across the road from the Abbey is the reader's pulpit which is all that remains of the old refectory.

A very nice Abbey church of the holy Cross dating back to 1038 AD as a Benedictine monastery. It was well worth a visit with only a short walk from the center of Shrewsbury. The volunteers were very helpful, a beautiful place which is well worth a visit if in the area.

The volunteers on duty were so helpful and friendly. The Abbey itself is beautiful, interesting and thankfully not too victorian or modernised. I thought having a contact less donation point was useful . Only small criticism is that would be better to have some signage eg around the tombs with basic information.

I attended the Holocaust Memorial Day poetry reading. When prose is written, it comes from the mind. When poetry is written, it comes from the heart and soul. I went again in April 2023 - it is still there and it looks the same from the outside.

A small Abbey, but free to visit. Not my favourite but still lovely

Beautiful abbey which is bigger than the catholic cathedral. Only downside is that the bike area for visiting is a but far near the main road which is not very convenient.

Beautiful place inside and out. The sound of a choir of monks being played in the background was very atmospheric and added to the experience. Highly recommend.

We were made very welcome in this lovely Abbey. It's donations, rather than an admission fee, which we far far prefer. The suggestion is £2 each - bargain. Easily located, with easy access (& toilets) this fabulous building offers history, architecture, peace and story's of old. Of course, if religious, I'm guessing much more. We'll worth a visit.

A beautiful medieval Gothic church with Norman features. Very nice architecture with wood carvings of angels, animals and a green man, plus amazing glass stained windows. The staff were warm and welcoming and the place was well maintained. A peaceful place and well worth a visit

Wonderful historic building. The stained glass, very old, windows are numerous and truly wonderful. A free tour is available if you want one. Wonderful warm and friendly cafe offering fare, homemade cakes etc. They have a 'Hug in a Mug policy'. Very endearing, beautiful place.

Excellent church, which sadly no longer has services on there, but is used for various events, such as the Shrewsbury beer festival. The stain glass window at the back looks very impressive. It's a 10 minute (approx) walk from the train station. Come out of it and turn left, up the bank. Check out what events are on!

The church is stunning but we quite often visit the café which is excellent. I have a toddler who loves it there because they have a designated child's area with toys, play mats and plenty of high chairs. The food is great and reasonably priced and the staff are super friendly and extremely accommodating. It's honestly my favourite place to take my little one for lunch/afternoon tea!

As an avid traveller with some interest in history, photography and architecture, I recently had the pleasure of visiting Saint Mary's Church in the picturesque town of Shrewsbury, and I must say it was an amazing experience. The staff at Saint Mary's were simply outstanding. Their warm and welcoming demeanour made me feel right at home. Their passion for the church's history was great and they were more than happy to share their knowledge with visitors. Their anecdotes about the church's past, especially the tale of Robert Cadman, the daring 18th-century professional daredevil/ropewalker, added a delightful touch of humour to the visit. The church also houses a medieval stained glass window, known as the 'Jesse Window'. And it is a beautiful ancient work of art. Highly recommended!

A fantastic treasure of a church with great architecture and awe inspiring stained glass windows. In the past it had links to royalty and was once one of the objects of pride for the town. The Jesse window is arguably one of the finest in the country. Always very peaceful and a great place to spend time reflecting and offers the opportunity to light a candle. They also have a very nice small cafe inside as well. It is, however, a tragedy that this is no longer a working church.

Great little church and well worth a walk around. I myself am not religious but the history and architecture is amazing. Worth 10 minutes of your time.

The only original Saxon/Norman church standing in Shrewsbury. In the care of the churches conservation trust.famous for it's magnificent stained glass window 15th century Italian. Selling Christmas cards for various charities between November & December. Lovely little cafe inside the church selling homemade cakes

Sadly now a redundant Anglican Church but most joyfully under the care of the Churches Conversation Trust for us all to enjoy today . It is a Grade 1 listed monument and believed to have been founded by King Edgar in the 10th Century . As you enter on the tower there is a plaque to a 18th century daredevil who had performed his feats of daring as far afield as Dover and Lincoln . Unfortunately this Evel Knievel of the past came unstuck here whilst performing one of his stunts . So R.I.P. to Robert Cadman . Inside the stained glass dates from the 14th to 19th centuries . The East Window of the chancel has a depiction of the Jesse Tree and depictions elsewhere of Bernard of Clairvaux and beautifully create the atmospheric feeling inside . The day I visited the atmosphere being added to by a Steam punk festival . I must admit I didn't know much about these but they looked very glamorous and were very entertaining . I could have watched the ladies in Black and White dancing for hours and listened to the accompanying music also . A surprising 10/10 from me most entertaining and talented I shall have to look out for more of these festivals . Beautiful place and a rather fascinating day.

A marvellous Church. It's worth looking up and down to see the decorative ceilings and the tiles beneath your feet.

We called in to the vineyard without any real expectations. The owner opened up and we had a great conversation whilst tasting the wines he produces. We now know so much more about English wines and the impact that climate shift is having. An excellent hour in good company.

We had an absolutely wonderful day at the vine yard in Wroxeter. Vine yard tour, history of the Roman city, history of wine making and origins of vine plants. We then went on to wine tasting and afternoon high tea. Such a lovely day and we met up with other couples. Lovely experience, really lovely family business.

Great story of a family run vineyard. Their tour gives background of the nearby former large Roman town of Wroxeter, followed by a vineyard tour then wine tasting with lunch. The shop is open just to visit and some tasting is available at the bar. Very interesting, packed with information and humorous content by the owner.

Lovely day. Very informative tour and 5 lovely wines to taste. Afternoon tea was a nice selection of sandwiches and 2 cakes each. Free flowing tea and coffee.

It is a lovely vineyard, and has a pleasant shop selling wine from it. We came in today and were invited to taste several of the fruity, fragrant wines of the estate. Needless to say, we left carrying a collection of them just purchased! We asked if it was alright to stroll around the vineyard and they said no problem. It was a delightful walk around, looking at the vines, of which most were in fruit. I would recommend it any time. However, if you want a guided tour, it's necessary to book several months ahead, but we turned up on the off-chance and almost had the place to ourselves.

Really good day. A great tour full of knowledge and experience, the sampling of the wines was brilliant 3 whites a red and rose. We payed for the more expensive experience but disappointed the included bottle wasn't one that we had tried in the day and we had no choice in what bottle it was.

Excellent vineyard tour and tasting led by the very knowledgeable owner Martin, who is a lovely guy - so humorous, straightforward and approachable. His friendly wife and daughter signed us in and provided lunch. No wine snobbery here, just a really enjoyable and surprisingly touching educational experience at a family run vineyard.

Me and hubby visited 14th June, had a lovely day. Informative talk from Martin, who is passionate about his business, sunny day for looking at the vines. We then went in for our wine tasting 5 half glasses of wine with lunch including large portion of turkey, ham and stuffing pie and full glass of wine. Congrats to Martin and his lovely wife. Ignore the negative comments, this is a working vineyard, I honestly don't know what people expect from a vineyard experience, a p**s up and 3 course meal, get real.

We are by no means wine experts but really enjoyed Martin’s tour of his family’s lovely vineyard. He is funny, engaging and clearly passionate about his work, and we both came away with a greater appreciation of the wine-making process and having sampled some of his delicious wines. The lunch was delicious and the surrounding countryside was wonderful. Thank you to Martin and Amanda!

Took advantage of a £1 offer I saw on Facebook for a 2 hour boulder session. It was great, not too busy so plenty of access to the walls although I was a bit scared! My young son loved it. We will be booking again but next time I think to do the bouncy ropes.

Excellent. Everyone was very friendly. The walls were challenging. Booked a supervised lesson with an amazing lady, very helpful and so good with children and adults alike. Lovely coffee, lovely people, great climbing and bouldering walls.

Good vibes. Staff are always really friendly and kind. I used to come every week and it’s easy to connect with people who will help you learn to climb. The mats are softer to land on than other climbing gyms, so I always have a bit of a shock when I climb elsewhere🤣 here’s me doing this climb wrong

I love this place. Its light, spacious and has some pretty cool walls to climb or boulder on. There is also a clip and climb type area. Any ability is welcome. The staff are really nice and helpful.

3 young ( 7 ,9 and 12 ) kids had great fun on the introductory session. Good value for what they all did. Good viewing area for anyone not taking part. Free parking.

Booked a slot for my granddaughter as she wanted to try this for her 5th birthday, but I was very disappointed!! She was harnessed up ready to go, told the rules and then left to figure it out for herself, which was not the right way to attract new customers I did go to reception and ask for someone to assist her till she felt a little more confident. An additional staff member would be helpful!!! FPW

Overall a good experience.. it was my 5 and 6 year old first time I climbed also and was glad i did because there was only one staff member at first for quite a few climbers.. although polite and friendly I feel he could of offered more guidance to first timers.. but I understand it isn't a coaching session but they are children.. Will go again..

Haven't done any climbing whatsoever for over 25 years. I had a taster session and loved it. The guys are all amazing who work there and so friendly even to an old has-been, and it made me feel welcome! Go to this place!

Brilliant indoor climbing centre that suitable for total beginners having a one off session on the Action Walls (from age 5) in just yourself own trainers to the more experienced stuff. Super staff, lovely atmosphere and a brilliant independent climbing centre to getting involved with.

Once again, a great place for the kids , all 4 children enjoyed the action walls and then went on to some bouldering afterwards. staff are great and very helpful . Coffee was lovely, and the dog was welcome, too. definitely recommend

Had a couple of very enjoyable visits. Once with the little on so we did some climbing together. Second time he was at a party in the designated kids soft area. An amazing space for growing their confidence of climbing and heights in a very safe and secure environment. All the kids loved the party so sure we will be back for many more visits in the future.

Friendly staff, nice space and the coffee is good. However, I find the setting in the bouldering area could be improved, especially in terms of safety/awareness of fall potential as there always seem to be quite a few boulders where a fall would be dangerous with high injury risk. The setting also tends to be a bit awkward in terms of movements. Be nice to see more climbs above V7 too

St Chad's Church is in the round. St Chad's Church occupies a prominent position in Shrewsbury, the county town of Shropshire. The current church building was built in 1792, and with its distinctive round shape and high tower it is a well-known landmark in the town. The stained glass are very distinctive vibrant colours.

Normally most churches are pretty standard. Look nice from the outside and basic from within. However, this church is quite the contrary. It has like such a beautiful architecture of its own and in such a unique of circular shape. The church entrance has two entrances. The first septum is for like Sunday class room i am told by the vicar and the second septum is the main entrance to the inner core of the church where visitors book and ceremonies are held. Its inside is very beautiful. The window carving, painting on the glasses, pulpit, set up for children and the front to where people are christened. Very warm inside with the central heating working perfectly. They also have a children's play area. Parking is free (I believe) but limited.

12th December my husband and I visited this beautiful church. There was a warm welcome by courteous staff and a lot of help with parking information. The church was warm ready to welcome Baschurch School Choir. More than 40 winderfully decorated ChrTherTherewas a wonderful display of more than forty Christmas trees

A must visit when in Shrewsbury because this church is quite unique in terms of its splendid architecture. The circular nave is the main attraction but also the stained glass windows. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable about the history of the church. Evensong at 6pm on Sundays is an experience not to be missed.

Such a wonderful look and feel about the place. This is the second St. Chad's reconstructed after collapsing using Shrewsbury Horticultural Society help and funding. Christmas extra special with many trees on two floors in the round mostly representing charities. Also a great acoustic setting for artists. The graveyard has the original Ebenezer Scrooge grave from the George C Scott film. Parking cheaper than the on street charges. (Do not use the machine) that is for the street not the church. Visit early evening on a sunny day for great photos.

Great place to visit. We walked around the grave yard and found Ebenezer Scrooge's grave, not the real one but the used in Clive Donner's reduction of The Christmas Carol.

Lovely and usually church, shape of the building allows for a larger that normal of pews all very well maintained. Lovely enamel windows and organ.

A distinctive looking church built in 1792 on the hill in the Shrewsbury overlooking the Quarry Park and the River Severn. The bell tower is visible across much of the town, and the unique, round structure lends itself to a very characterful nave and alter. Even the pews themselves are rounded, all facing towards the altar and impressive stained glass windows. There is a mezzanine around the nave with additional seating. There is also a small chapel to the old Shropshire Regiment.

Great place to visit if you have the time very colourful stained glass windows inside shame did not get time to enjoy. they also was going to have a small show concert but did not have time to stay and listen to it. but have been told its worth a visit at the correct time.

A beautiful calm place to walk and enjoy the woods especially in May bluebells carpet the floor and from 9ne vantage point you can see all the way across the Shropshire plain to the Lawley and Caradoc Long mynd. Loads of walks, cycle paths plenty of carparks close to Shrewsbury wonderful market town full of history

Easy access to views across Shrewsbury and the Shropshire hills. Nice woodland walks. Even a Café!

A lovely place to walk with your dog and family. Great views too. Cafe has a good selection of food, plenty of benches to sit on. Public toilets to use. You do need to pay for the car park, think it’s about £2. Search “Haughmond Hill Car Park” to follow directions to make sure you arrive at the car park. If you use just ‘Haughmond Hill’ on Google you’ll end up on a country road. Walk ways are wide and you can let your dog off lead in certain areas. Kids can ride bikes on the pathways, but can be muddy in places.

Haughmond hill is a wonderful place to come for a walk, stroll or day, whatever you like. The parking is plentiful and only £1 for 2 hours or £2 all day. Bring a picnic and enjoy a good walk to the viewpoint. Take a drink. Whilst we had floppy shoes, the ground is quite rough in places so trainers are best. If you want the easiest walk take the path to the right of the cafe as you look at it from the seating and that’s nice and smooth all the way. Lovely place - Enjoy your day.

Haughmond on a spring day at sunset is glorious. The views are spectacular. Don't rush round it, take your time and enjoy the walk.

Good walking trail but rather boring not much to look at on the trail till you reach the top. Views are amazing

Fantastic collection and well displayed. Really enjoyed my visit. A fascinating history of one of our fine regiments... covers most major campaigns of the last 300 years or so. Had a nice quiz to entertain the kids too!

I was Very Impressed. Excellent displays in what is a very pleasant environment. The staff are well informed and helpful. Great collection of uniforms and badges and quite a breathtaking collection of medals. The castle itself is in a magnificent spot. I would have liked to spend more time both inside and out taking in the views but as its bitterly cold I moved on quicker than I expected. One point is that it is Not disabled friendly. That's the problem with old historic buildings. Cheap as chips to visit, in fact I think cheaper than chips. Highly recomend a visit.

A very interesting and informative place. Situated inside Shrewsbury castle it has some good displays and background stories to go with them. I would certainly recommend that you visit here if you are in the Town and all for £4 you can't moan.

Really good museum. Lots of interesting stuff, manely for those who are interested in military history or guns and army equipment. Great collection of medals. And surprisingly they have a German grand Marshall cane.

If you like military history, good place to visit as this is now the Shropshire regimental museum and worth the entrance fee. If you are looking for castle history the outside is great and great views from the tower, these are all free, but not worth paying to go in.

Awesome day hike, spectacular views! The trail is not marked clearly (atleast for our American experience). One access is from the Bog visitor centre. After you park the car, look for the viewpoint sign, and go up. Once you get to the stones, the climbing and views - miles of grasslands, blue sky - make it all well worth it. We went in Feb, the wind was strong, and it was fairly cold. Grab warm layers, and a beanie. As you trample along, remember that you are walking on stones 500 million old!

Yeah it was ok. Lots of people said it was a great place to visit. It had great views but that was really it. I may visit again in a years time but I wouldn't rush back.

Superb craftsmanship and a lot of attention to detail. The natural finish is excellent and it is almost impossible to tell this is manmade.

This is a great place to walk with some iconic views and landmark rocks to spot along the ridge. The notable rocks are Cranberry, Manstone, Devil's Rock and Shepherd's Rock, as well as the Castle Ring hillfort towards the northern end of the ridge. Pathways lead from the parking areas up to the top. Parking is available at The Bog Visitor Centre and at Snailbeach.

One of the wonders of Shropshire. The views stunning, the air clean, wildlife everywhere and quiet simply a beautiful peaceful place. The path to the trig is ankle breaking shattered rock but worth every step. In good or bad weather and I’ve done both it’s gorgeous. I do a figure of 8 loop from the car park up to Stiperstones and Devil’s chair down to Snailbeach via the squatter cottages and back up and over to the car park. It’s stunning. Just stunning. While the car park gets full you hardly see a soul.

A great day for a stride out with warm sun and a slight breeze. Conditions also good for the Red Kites to spiral arround the uppermost rocks. I also saw a common Lizzzard who had been basking on a railway sleeper step near green hill. He scurried into the heather on my approach. There is a memorial plaque to a fallen Whittley bomber crew from 2nd WW at the bottom of the hill. Its worth a visit just to walk in a different kind of landscape ! We had good views all round !

Enjoyable, but very hard underfoot and the field to Holly farm was very very boggy. Good views from the top, when the fog lifted.

Great to revisit this at last. V friendly, helpful, chatty staff member Lynne and her male partner. The Bog served v v tasty bara brith cake and lattés. Full of unusual, locally made, tasteful, quality crafts. A v v pleasant and enjoyable experience. Would revisit and recommend.

A very good place for a stop after a walk around the Stiperstones area. Good cakes and scones with tea/coffee/hot chocolate on offer. A selection of local arts and crafts to browse through and an interesting range of books about the locality. It also contains a range of parish records for those who might have had family members from this area.

If you're out exploring the walks around here, then don't forget to pop in to the visitor centre and cafe. There are pictures of how it looked with all the lead mines in operation many years ago, and info about the surrounding wildlife and geology. We stopped for refreshments after the 3.6 miles loop walk along the Stiperstones ridge, but if you have no drinks with you then I'd recommend stocking up before you head out walking.

Welcoming friendly staff and interesting local information together with local arts and crafts to browse. The centre has a good car park. Home made cakes and tea after our walk was very enjoyable. (I hope that my previous review can be struck off the record as it was posted in error) 🤞

Lovely cafe, great stop for afternoon tea and very dog friendly. Excellent chatty staff made me feel very welcome and some beautiful quality local craft gifts available to buy. Sad not open all year round, so check dates and times.

We were off for a long walk around the Stiperstones and came across the Bog Visitor Centre by chance. This is a lovely little place to visit. Lots of arts and crafts, together with a good selection of local books of the area, including wildlife, past history and maps. The staff were really friendly and helpful and we were disappointed we arrived back from our walk just too late for a coffee after our walk. Really recommended for a place who aim to promote the area in a very empathetic way.

what used to be an old schoolhouse is now a community run café that incorporates a local artist craft retail outlet on its peripheral .. tea, coffee, various homemade cakes, and other changing food options .. super staff too; definitely a must visit if hiking or riding nearby

The Bog is surrounded by wonderful views of South Shropshire and beyond. On a clear day it is breathtaking. For families it offers a pleasant walking experience which doesn't take its toll. The alpacas are fun to watch too. The visitors centre is clean, friendly and sells a range of products from local artists and craftspeople. Simple but delicious snacks are available for a reasonable price too.

Interesting building which had been a Chapel and a school. Set out as a tearoom, with bright tablecloths and pretty silk flower vases on each table. There was a good variety of cakes on offer, plenty of tea in the pot for two and extra hot water provided. My personal choice was a minestrone cup a soup. What a good idea to have that on the menu, not everyone fancies a sweet afternoon treat. Round the walls of the room were craft stalls with some really lovely handmade items ranging from greetings cards to glasswork. Looked to be a good stop for walkers and ramblers to stop off for a quick break.

A great little visitor centre with excellent information on the local area with lovely staff, wonderful tea and homemade cakes and lots of local crafts for sale. The perfect stop to visit the beautiful Stiperstones.
