I came twice. First I bought the tickets and it is one per ride any ride so no complications. Second I got a band as it means all twice completely paid for. The staff were enthusiastic the whole time and had good banter for the day and kept the joy of the day going with not one going to a phone each keeping engaged with what's going on. Would recommend for the day as it is a mix of big rides and children's thst adults can still go on so great for a family

We had a great day out at Adventure Island. Entry is free. However, it is recommended to buy the day wristband if possible online as it's much cheaper (yesterday it was 28 in the ticket office but 20 online). Single ticket rides are £3.5. Lots of rides to go on, kids get measured in the entrance and if they are over 120cm they can ride on their own. Under 120cm they will need an adult but the adult will go in the rides for free. Lots of food places inside too.

Kids loved it every moment, they had an incredible time at Adventure Island! From thrilling rides to delicious food, it exceeded my expectations. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the park was clean and well-maintained, with no more than 10 minutes waiting time for the rides.I can't wait to visit again! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Had a wonderful time with our little one there. we went there over the weekend so the place was a bit crowded, however that was to be expected when the weather was nice and sunny. Some rides had a bit of a queue ( around 10-20 minutes wait), but it was worth it for our little one. Plenty of food to grab and i would say more than ok seating areas to sit and relax over a cup of coffee/tea. No parking available there, so you would need to find either road parking or look for pay and display parking spots around. It was great to see that they also have an indoor play area (soft play) and some arcade games in case the weather is not playing nice. Overall great day out and we had loads of fun.

I took my young baby there to the soft play play stack area and she loved it. She enjoyed going through the obstacles, the slides and really loved the ball pit that she didn't want to leave!!! There's a cafe, arcade stuff for the adults which all the adults enjoyed doing whilst i was inside with my baby. Definitely a must for any parents We went at new years so there was lots of Christmas decorations which were all beautiful and my baby enjoyed looking at them!!

Was a great day out that we all loved and would love to do again. Atmosphere was great and lots of different rides for adults and kids, even some calmer rides for smaller kids. Some nice places to get food & drink also. Not too long waiting in queues apart from a couple of popular rides. A thoroughly great day

It's nice to enter and walk around without having to pay an entry fee. We walked around on a Thursday and it wasn't too busy but got there too late to purchase tickets to get our money's worth. However on the Friday , a public holiday, we decided we will do the half price from 5pm and we had til 10 pm closing time. The park was very busy throughout the day with queues. By the time we got our tickets, the rides were getting less busy which was great. We got to ride each roller coaster at least twice. Rage is the most adult one and though I don't like a full drop, I went on it twice, cause why not. The queues were short. By 9pm we were cold and had enough. But it was time well spent and so much fun.

Not necessarily a place for adults, but children go crazy when here. I took my students on a school trip to Adventure Island, and they had a blast. They ran, they rode, they sang, and they enjoyed every second of the trip. The place has some fast-food options to eat and many sweets available. A big shout out to the call centre team that made the booking system very easy, and they supported me all the way. Thank you! I think AI is a great place for any school trip.

Great small park that appeals to both older thrill seekers and younger families. Could definitely do with a few more thrilling attractions. I would love to see a new rollercoaster but it's great as it is. Be aware some rides advertised on the website are removed or not open (including their biggest ride time machine), plus it's unclear on how to buy tickets online.

Wish I could give six stars to bring their rating up. Let's start with the good the park is well set out with loads to do for the kids and grown ups alike. Paid for wristbands in advance to save a few quid but even at the gate price they are fantastic value. All the food outlets we tried were great well priced and well staffed. The park was clean and tidy. Now let's move onto the bad.... There was non just even better I have always said the right staff can make a good place great and the excellent staff here make this already great place absolutely fantastic. Every member of staff where working a stall, food outlet, ride or even just walking around all had a smile on their faces on both of our visits. Interacting with the kids when on rides often dancing at the side honestly if you have any bad staff they were hidden on both these days. My at the end of the 1st visit my son came to me and said "we are definitely going here again the staff are lovely" now on our 2nd visit my mam has just said "the staff on this site are unbelievable so happy and helpful". Keep doing what you are doing.

Superb way to spend a whole day with a little one. Plenty of rides and stuff to do throughout the park for an entire day out. Plenty of places to buy food from and somewhat ok seating areas. The place does get quite crowded during busy times and some ride queues have waits of upwards of 10-20 minutes for only like 3 minutes rides. Superb atmosphere and i like that the place also has an "indoor" area where there's soft play and some arcade games in case the weather is not suitable. Parking is a different story as they don't have dedicated parking places so you will have to either find a car park or street parking. Nearby theres loads of them but during busy times it gets quite crowded.

Oooh Wow it was a beautiful experience, an amusement park with lots of amazing rides, scary and mild ones, we had so much fun and a lot to eat to, and just by sea, you can have picnics at the sea shore, as at evening the tide had gone down and the water at the banks had gone back to the sea, we could even walk on the sea beds and pick shells. I will sure visit again in the future, it was fun with the children and adults alike.

We weren't too sure what to expect from here (picture thoughts of typical seaside amusement parks) but we were pleasantly surprised. The entry was quite expensive (£22.50) but the super saver wrist band worked out good value if you try enough of the rides. Take your child's Blue Peter badge if they have one for 2-4-1 entry. Unlike normal theme parks, it's very easy to come and go as you please so easy to pop out for food (plenty of options within 2 minute's walk). The facilities inside the park didn't get great reviews. We visited on Halloween weekend and the staff were really getting into the spirit! Plenty of places to park nearby, but the Royal's shopping centre seemed particularly good value. Rides are good for all ages. Lots of amusements, facilities and also a mini golf course (though this costs extra). All in all, a good fun day out.

I have really enjoyed my time over there . It's a small heaven for kids .. all the fun games and rides seem really enjoyable..I had a fun time just watching all those kids enjoying themselves. It felt like it was reducing my by with their joyfulness. And the nearby Pier gave me a peaceful walking experience. I will definitely go there in Summer In sha Allah .

Great local fun park. A few good teen/young adult rides. More aimed at primary school age. I observed that security and other staff were friendly & professional. Lots of fun to be had, especially with a day wristband pass. The bonus was the good weather. 22°C. I'd advise taking a packed lunch. Hour long queue for food. The queue was chaos. It started out as three single orderly lines to each order point but slowly became a morrass of bodies pushing in, that melded into a formless crowd clamouring for overpriced hotdogs, burgers (3 mm thick), chicken nuggets or vegetable wedges. The servers were working so hard but the quality of what they're working with is IMHO substandard. The price doesn't bear any relation to what you receive. I had two bites of the hotdog with onion, mild mustard & ketchup but could eat no more. I reminded me of the 1970s. The kids were disappointed too. They're not snobs but can detect a rip off very well. If you have a severe food allergy, have coeliac disease or are a vegan, be very cautious. Call them up when planning to visit. Having said all that, I still recommend the park for a few hours. Queues for rides varied between a few minutes to a ½ an hour, so not too bad. The park is split in two by the pier. A passage takes you under the pier, past an amusement arcade and into the part with the more adventurous rides. Have fun!

Great place to take the kids. Adults go on free with any kids under 110cm which meant it was a cheap day out with a wristband Kids had a particularly great time as we timed our visit to a superhero day and the staff engaged our children with genuine enthusiasm. Only let down was the food situation, tasteless but at a reasonable price compared to many places along the seafront. Buy tickets in advance (save £8 per daily wristband if bought online in advance... )

Went on public holiday, the wrist band is worth it as you can go on all the rides and depending on how busy it gets you can go on some rides more then once. You can purchase online and save or you can purchase wrist band on the day. If the adventure land is open until 10:30 you can get the wrist band half price after 5pm. You can purchase individual tickets which works out £3.50 for a ride if you know your little on or your self is just going on one or two rides. It’s a great idea to measure your little one hight so you know exactly how much rides they can go on. They have wheelchair friendly rides. Staff are amazing and full of energy which is always a great bonus. They have drinks and snack which you can purchase. Toilet are available, you may need to wait in a queue depending on how busy it gets. They have arcade play, you do need to pay separate for that. Car parking available near the resort how ever it can get really busy, after 6pm parking is free. This is over all a good place for family and children to enjoy. In holidays it can get busy but I think they manage it well. The wait time for rides wasn’t bad at all, the longest I had to wait for a ride was 20 min. Which is reasonable considering it was packed.

Variety of rides available with comparatively low waiting period. Totally worth it with full day pass. Park staff is also nice, they interact with kids on ride and keep them engaged.

Wonderful fun for all ages and weather. A day pass is £28 (or £14 after 5pm), but if you book online it's only £20! 😃 A year's pass is great value at £56 if you'll visit more than twice. Lots of fun rides to keep the kids amused, plenty of places to sit, eat and drink, and toilets around the area

If you’re going for the whole day, get tickets online. It’s cheaper. However if going after 5 get on the till. Entry is free. But u need either wrist bands or individual ride tickets to go in the rides. The opening and closing hours are updated daily so make sure to check the website. The website is quite informative and easy to navigate. We had a lot of fun in all the rides and there are some good spots to eat in and around the adventure island.

This place offers fantastic fun for both kids and adults. Normally, I tend to avoid such places due to long queues, but when we arrived around 11:30 on a Sunday morning, there were no queues at all. The staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly, and there's a wide variety of enjoyable rides to keep you entertained all day. What's even more impressive is that it's very budget-friendly.

Extremely good place suitable for any age and for rainy weather there is an Indoor place with a play area a swinging boat and more you can get an annual pass for 60 pounds and all you have to do is show them and you go in for free there are a lot of places to get food and drink And a day pass is 20 pounds hope this helps

Visited 21/04/22 bought tickets to walk down the pier and get the train back. It was a lovely sunny day but rather windy. Got to the end of the pier had a wander round only the Costa cafe was open this was previously Jamie and Jimmy's cafe. Out of the wind it was really nice and warm sitting on seats at the pier head. Got the new electric train back. These are a lot better than the old trains one.of which had been converted into shelters on the platform and other locations nearby.

A really interesting place to visit from how long the pier is and that it has a railway along it I would have loved to get the chance to travel on the new trains they have but they weren't running and only had the old train running. I did find there wasn't really much at the end of the pier but it's perfect for those who want to go to the end and just sit and relax watching the ships passing. It's definitely a place to visit at least once to say you have been.

Pretty impressive pier considering the age and length! Nice stroll and reasonably priced. Only downfall was very limited shops open at the end of pier. Would have been good to have been informed before setting off, otherwise pretty cool for a afternoon trip!!! Would advise going in high tide, didn’t consider that! You can travel one way and walk back or just buy the return for a bit more on the ticket. The views are pretty impressive on a clear day.

I was here with my wife on Saturday, 06/04/24. It was a very windy and cloudy day but not so cold. Best to go on a hot day. The train departs towards the sea every 30 minutes at 00 and 30 minutes past the hour. Return train departs every 30 minutes at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour. The return ticket costs £7.50. The pier is just over a mile long and the train journey saves you the long walk in the wind. There is a Life Boats building at the end of the pier with a higher level offering beautiful views. The gift shop has many beautiful items on sale. There's also many food and drinks outlets at the end of the pier. The sea is very dirty and the end of the pier would look much better by removing some junk to create more space.

A fantastic experience - took the train out and walked back - 1.33 miles long. Train is so modern and an unusual brilliant thing on a pier. The pier has the RNLI shop and view at the very end - worth a visit and a donation for the great things they do. Also a fantastic little cafe there that does amazing cake and yummy coffee. A pity its costs to go on the pier but suppose it takes a lot to maintain such a long pier.

This was our first visit to Southend, and we loved it. The seafront is a traditional British resort but is well cared for and clean. The pier was the highlight of our visit. Access is through a modern glass frontage with very helpful staff. You can either walk both ways, take the little light train both ways or what we did, walk out, and train back. All prices were reasonable. The actual pier is wooden and arout a mile and a third long. It is a delightful walk with plenty or areas to sit if you need to. We were there as the tide began to come in, and it was great watching the shoals of fish (whitening) following the incoming water. At the end of the pier, there is the cafe used in the Jamie Oliver TV programme. It's much smaller than you would think There are also two cafes that share a modern building with outside and inside seating. The pier invested in modern electric trains, but they broke down after days, so they still use the old engines. To my mind, they are better than the new electric stock. A great way to spend a morning!

Brilliant and unique railway on one of the longest pier's in the UK. A gentle and scenic journey to the end of the pier and back. Worth the long walk to the Pier itself and especially on an overcast day as the colour of the sea really stands out during this time. You can get the train across but really, there is a serene pleasure to walking across and hearing the calm of the ocean around you. Will come back in the Summer to capture the Pier glazed under peachy evening skies.

Loved the views from the pier and the history behind it. The railway track running in parallel to the walkway adds on to the beauty. We bought the walkway return ticket and it costed us each £2.50. They are concessions for some group of people. The only suggestion is to have some more varieties of food at the end of the pier( has awesome ice cream collections though!). Definitely one of the must visit spots when you are in Southend !

This is an awesome pier! The deck is beautifully maintained with new boards as necessary. It's a lovely walk to the far end. But sadly, there is very little to do once you're there. We had tea and cake in the café where "Jamie & Jimmy's Friday Night Feast" is filmed. The cakes were commercial - nothing special. There are toilets are the 'land' end. Two temporary toilets - with a queue and the hand-drier not working. A lovely heritage pier - and the best is not being made of it. Needs more amenities and things to occupy you at the far end.

Fantastic view from the tram overlooking the open sea, and the cost is likely under 20 pounds for two adults and a child. Highly recommended for a summer visit to enjoy the beach.

Great little trains to take you to the end of the pier and back. You can walk if you prefer or train one way walk the other £7.50 for a return journey. They go back and forth fairly regularly. We didn't wait either journey but that could've been luck. Plenty of space on board for wheel chair users too.

Home to the longest railway pier in the world! Southend pier is a must visit in Southend! Trains do leave every 30 minutes. The pier itself has a cool view of Southend from afar! They also have my favorite fish and chip shop at Southend! Its extremely windy at the end of the pier! There's also a gift shop and a cafe at the end! Highly recommend!

Enjoyed a nice walk along the pier on a sunny summer day and a relaxing train ride back. The pier is in great condition and the entrance fee is completely reasonable. Not particularly busy but a short queue for the train that appears to run a little infrequently. Recommend for a visit when in the area!

Southend pier has changed so much over the last 10 years. I visited at the weekend and took the train to the end. Wow completely different to 10 years ago. A flash new train. £6 per adult return on the train. New restaurant at the bottom and a lovely little cafe at the end. Beautiful coloured beach huts at the end and amazing views. Very cold at the end on an overcast late October day.

Love Southend-on-Sea, the pier is beautiful and even on a rainy day, is a fun walk. Also found some of the most incredible wall art I've seen in a while. Great coastal town to visit on the weekend.

Had a wonderful experience here. They offer a wheelchair for a £50 cash deposit, which they return when you have finished with the chair, and we were able to take it everywhere off the pier also. The train ride was bumpy and noisy as expected and the chips at the end of the journey from the hut at the end were lovey and hot, just what was needed, but mind the gulls, who did mostly stay away. The pavilion was handy for drinks and toilets. Then the pier was lovely to sit and enjoy watching the sky and water change. I couldn't access the lifeboat section as it was all stairs.

First time here. Thoroughly enjoyed the visit and many of the items reminded me of my childhood. Tin bath and ceramic hot water bottles. Deep joy 😊

It is a great place to take your toddler to learn about sea life. Right next to the Southend beach, it gives you an opportunity to walk around and experience the other activities happening there.

This is one of our favourite places to visit. The annual pass gives good value for money and as an added bonus discounts at other places on the seafront too. There are some interesting and varied animals: we love the otters and penguins! The staff are always wonderful here too, so friendly

There is much more to see than we thought. Takes around 1 hour or so to get all the way round. Recommend that you go around twice, and you'll see things that you may have missed previously. Rescued monkeys are sweet. Pangea area is small, but very good. Definitely worth visiting, book in advance and save a couple of pounds per person.

Excellent value for the money! We got an annual pass which cost us £15 per person and since my little one is obsessed with the place, we have gone there 3 times in 3 weeks. She starts asking for the aquarium from wednesday. It is not very crowded especially if you go early enough. There are not many species but I think it is fine because it is better for a place like this not to take your whole day. The aquariums look a bit ran down. Now they seem to be doing big maintenance so hopefully it will be better. Staff are very nice. I think having a wristband is annoying because there is an entrance and exit. I don't get what wristband does as compared to a simple ticket. I feel like the biggest problem is lack of information. There are some interesting fishes but you can't see anywhere what they are called. Also I would be interested to know the type of reef we are seeing but that info is not there either. These are easily fixable things so I hope they do fix it.

Incredible place. There are so many kinds of fishes and other marine life as well as some land life, many of which I have only seen on TV before, I was surprised that the equipments inside can simulate the habitat environment of all kinds of animals so well, it is really not easy. Recommended annual pass for repeated visiting 😊

My 13 and 14 year old boys loved it, didn't think they would but we spent 2 hours there. The butterfly enclosure was amazing too

Came down with family for a fun activity to do on a Saturday. It was superhero week, so all the staff were dressed up, and there was a man dressed as Spider-Man greeting all of the kids and making them smile which was lovely. The sealife was well kept and there were lots of lovely fish and aquatic animals to see. The butterfly house was one of my fave parts, with so many colourful butterflies to see. The monkeys and penguins were fab for the children too, and really interactive. A lovely day out, and we would return soon! Love that you can return within the year and only pay £4 for entry to upgrade to an annual pass!

Great place to take the kids. So much to do. Entry fee is £12 or £16 for a year pass so great price for locals. So many exhibits which are kept clean and well maintained. Lots of interactive parts for little ones. Near to the beach so great on a nice day. Would definitely recommend!

Staff were lovely! Great value for money especially if we manage to make it back with the Annual Passes we purchased today. Kids and grown ups in the group both enjoyed themselves! Bearing in mind it was half term week the one way system and queuing weren't too bad at all!

A nice morning out for little ones . My grandson age 2 was mostly excited for the dinosaurs. I would like to see it expand and include for fish etc.

Great little place for smaller children, not only does it have an Aquarium but also a great dinosaur, butterfly and zoo section. 🦕 🦋 🙊 We loved being able to see the penguins! It's not massive, so you'll probably only be there for a couple of hours. But there's a lot of stuff to do nearby. We thought it was reasonably priced compared to other aquariums, but thought the cafe menu could be improved. Parking nearby is about £7.50 for a few hours.

Throughly enjoyed our visit to Sealife Adventure this morning - the air conditioning provided a welcome relief from the high temperatures. Admission price is very reasonable, especially if you choose to pay a little bit more for an annual pass as we did. Lots to see and could easily spend 1-2 hours here going around the various exhibits. The highlight had to be the stingray pool because they seem such inquisitive animals. A few places to purchase food and drinks and the obligatory small gift shop. Looking forward to our next visit.

Great place to visit with kids. Lots to look at including meerkats,mongoose,dinosaurs. If you get an annual pass you get discounts on toys and food so worth it. Don't get caught out on the ridiculous car park charges though which are about £3 an hour,rather park elsewhere and walk

Lovely place we all loved it. It's better to get a yearly pass then you get children's meals free in a chip restaurant over the road and you get 20% off in adventure island and various places in Southend.

We have the annual pass as its brilliant value, we all love attending, my son takes to different parts every time we go, food always seems fresh and tasty too! Theres a really knowledgeable guy in th butterfly are ready at hand and has talked lots of interesting things about the turrantulas and lizzards, very interesting. A really good mix of things to see, we of course love the tunnel to walk under too. Great fun time out for all weathers and is just the right size.

We took my niece here for her seventh birthday. We had a lovely time. She really enjoyed the shark tunnel, the butterfly room and the penguins. It's quite small and not somewhere you could spend the whole day, but we went to the arcades and had a great time anyway. The gift shop is a bit pants – needs to invest in higher quality goods.

I recommend it to everyone who needs some relaxing time.To go there and book a hotel opposite the sea side.Could get unforgettable memories.

Having been coming here fairly regularly since my daughter was born, and she's nearly nine now. Have watched it change and expand over the years and have always loved coming, even when it was just fish. On a quiet day you can do a lap in an hour or so, depending on how engaged your child is or not! On the plus side, your entrance fee lasts all day, so as long as you keep your wristband on, you can come in again that same day. Also, if you see it being something you'll visit regularly, highly recommend getting the annual pass - as of writing, paying an additional £2 on the entrance fee gives you unlimited access for the year.

Dog friendly Kids enjoyed play areas Clean and tidy Parking is only a problem on very busy days. If you like trees and grass then i recommend it 😉

I own a lovely Labrador and we decided he deserved a good old walk in the woods today. It was our first time visiting Belfairs and it was amazing! Our dog had a great time wondering through the trees and chasing the pigeons. We saw some squirrels, which was nice too. There is also a stunning golf course! I would totally recomend visiting Belfairs Wood!

Great for dog walking, lovely views, a darling Cafe with some sweet trinkets available to buy, brilliant whittling done, nearby is a really good playground (there is a kids activity bit within the woods but I cannot comment much on it as my son is a baby so hasn't used it really) .

Nice, bit heavy on people with dogs off leads. Don't expect to see much wildlife as dogs seem to chase off and you are always never more than 5 metres from someone as very popular. Luckily I like dogs lol.

Having lived all my life in Essex I had never visited this place, so first sunny day of 2024 off we toddled, There is some free parking for about 10/15 cars in the cul de sac, plus more for a fee in cafe car park (cafe not open early March) it's not a suitable place for disabled people, we could find no public toilets,(hopefully cafe when open has) It's a short uphill walk to the ruins, part of two of the original towers still up, with great views across the Thames, You could walk along a (wet) pathway towards leigh on sea, (2 miles 45/60 mins walking) I would imagine it gets very busy during summer as it's a good walking area. Entry is FREE!

Haven't been here for a while parking is very limited then short walk up a slope to the castle. This is an English heritage site. It is free to access. There are new information panels indicating what the castle looked like in the 12-1300's there's not much left of it now as a lot of the castle collapsed due to being built on clay. Great view over the estuary and onto Southend and the pier.

Nice place to visit as part of a walk in the area but not enough here to make a special trip for (unless you’re really into ruins). Nice walk from here down to the coast but a bit muddy after rain/winter

Really nice walk from leigh to the castle. This can easily be a difficult walk if the weather is not nice. There was a lot of mud still around. The views for the estuary are fabulous from up there as well. If you want it looks like the walk carries on past the castle. We turned back round and went back to leigh.

Stunning views and great area for a picnic with plenty of nice walks to be had to work off all the food. It's a well looked after heritage site, the only draw back, the parking is limited.

So cool! Free entry, nobody around, you just walk in and have a look. It's a 13th century castle, with a few remaining towers and foundations. There are signs around that tell you what each part you're looking at used to be (kitchen, north east tower, etc). There's a nice walk from the town centre to the castle ruins, and a lovely view of the water and the houses (interesting for someone not from the UK). It would be a lovely place to walk the dog (if I had one), for a picnic, or just for a wander around like we did. Great history, nice views, and a lovely quiet spot!

Beautiful recreational area situated among the castle ruins, great for relaxing, picnics and plenty for the kids. Kids are able to play within, on and around ruins. Many playing football and on bikes. Family-friendly, dogs welcome, walking trails, fabulous views looking out over southend, the sea, canvey island. Pay and display parking. There is a coffee shop, not sure of opening times. Not really suitable for those with mobility difficulties. Very hilly and gravel tracks.

Been going to the castle since I was a small child. Decided to bring my teenage kids over as they'd never been and was surprised how much they enjoyed themselves. It was a bit more overgrown than it was a couple of decades ago, but still offers amazing views out across the Thames. Spent a good 3 hours on a crisp wintry day and it didn't cost a penny!

Great ambiance, dealer are so friendly, take time to explain the games, waiter never far. Can have snack if you forgot to eat before, open 24h.

Appalling place. Staff are great. Tried to spend lots of money but failed. Went with£200 came away with £200 . Very bad for a casino. The worst gambling established I have ever been to. The staff were terrific. I do not understand how a casino can allow me to not spend any money! I was willing to loose at least £200 but spent nothing!!! Amazing, well done rendvous saved me a fortune, thanks. I spent more money at the seafront arcades, amazingly bad casino. Great if you do not want to spend any money. I assume such a bad establishment will close very soon. The staff are terrific, but maybe they should encourage me to spend more!

Great casino. Good atmosphere and the croupiers are normally very cheerful unlike a lot of places around Southend. Only down side is the drinks are a little pricey however it’s a great night out in general and I would recommend.

This used to be the nicest casino in Southend but now that the competition have improved they're all of a similar standard. Nice place to go for a night out or a gamble but could do with more seats and a bigger bar area. The restaurant wasn't great when I visited in 2018 but there was talk of a new menu being planned so maybe it's improved now. Food and drink is expensive, but about what you'd expect for a casino. There is a car park outside but lots of people seem to get parking fines even though they've paid for parking - better to park in the big car park next to the Sea Life Centre and walk round to the casino.

Had a meal in November for my friends birthday, there was a group of 10 of us. Things started of well, the Restuarant was nice, the staff were attentive We got our starters and I was quite impressed, after that things went down hill. We were all looking forward to the Madness tribute band, so imagine our disappointment when we miss it, especially Linda who’s birthday it was. They took so long bringing out the different courses Due to the fact we were told we would have to wait , as they had a buffet to put out. We all thought this was bad as we had all payed £40+ for our meals. Our meal took about 3 and half hours in total Some of the staff were doing the bar as well. You should get more staff in when you have events This is not good enough 🙁

Took visiting friends here as went on a groupon voucher once before and the food was ok but on this particular night it was really not good! Ordered beef wellington described as served rare, it was really well done all 4 of them! I couldn't eat mine the waiter refunded my meal but the evening was a bit of a let down! The staff though are absolutely brilliant shame the chef lets it down! Won't eat there again!

Staff were extremely attentive and food was very good. Best piece of cod I've had for a long while. The only drawback is that you're sat close to the gaming tables.

This is a wonderful venue to go to all though it is small. The staff are excellent. I went to see Danny Bakers "at last the sausage sandwich tour" and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had not laughed like that in ages.

Lovely old traditional theatre. It's a bit threadbare in places but clean and comfortable. Plenty of leg room and seats were fairly comfortable, enough for the performance. The view of the stage is good. The catering is typical for these places; barely adequate and horrendously expensive, £7 for a pint, really? Slow service too so get there early if you want refreshment to take in.

The staff are friendly and helpful. The theatre has a lot of character. The only problem is parking, there is no car park nearby. We have seen some great shows and the Red Hot Chilli Pipers were no exception.

Just watched A Christmas Carole and it was fabulous. The actor playing Carole Singer was brilliant. What a beautiful theatre with such friendly and efficient staff.

Always see amazing shows here. We always try to sit in the front row of the dress circle. These were taken from a8, a9. The theatre is a perfect size for medium shows. Lovely old building with friendly staff.

Last 2 shows I've been to here I've been up in the gallery. It's very restricted space wise my knees were right up against the seat in front. The view however is great. Providing you don't get a tall person sat in front.

A great evening out, superb acts excellent atmosphere. All the staff are wonderful I highly recommend.

We saw Stewart Lee perform his Basic Lee standup routine. It was fantastic, good value and the whole place has an old and classic charm. The small intimate theatre is perfect for comedy gigs, putting the audience up close to the artist. The foyer is small and crowded before a gig. People waiting are jostling with people queuing for the bars. It's pretty intense before a sell out gig, so don't turn up early if you find that less than fun. Nice beers on tap and decent selection of drinks and snacks, just like Cliffs. We visited an excellent Italian immediately opposite, it's very classy and well worth a try. However incase you are expecting the nice surroundings, bars and restaurants of the nearby Cliffs Pavilion, think again. Westcliff is the arse end of town, roads are busy the streets are a mess, the pub next door is a dump and we felt uneasy the whole time walking in and out from the Hamlet Court Road Carpark nearby. Good historic venue, bad location.

Good theatre but drinks are hugely over priced. £15 for a cider and glass of wine is far too expensive. Southend is not London!

Beautiful period theatre built in 1912, with gorgeous period features. Watch out for open days where you will be shown all round including back stage and the wings. We went to see Chitty Chitty bang bang and had a great time. We sat up in the balcony and had a great view. The ambience of the surroundings made us enjoy the play even more. Toilets are clean, there is a sweets kiosk and bar which are well priced. After 6pm you are able to park outside the theatre on the main road. Before 6 there is a car park about 5 to 10 minutes walk away which is not to expensive. Seats are cumfertable with adequate leg room. For those with mobility issues I would advise ground floor seating.

We went to the Palace Theatre to see Count Arthur Strong, an enjoyable event. The Theatre itself is a tired, old, dirty building that no one is bothering to do anything with. We were up in "the Gods" (Gallery) with a restricted view of the stage, but no complaints as we knew that would be the case. We did have an unrestricted view of cobwebs, flaking paint and the surface dust of years on the surrounding masonry. A disgrace.

Went to see Tommy Tiernan last night. Great show & the lovely Sally on customer services was a great help to us. Thanks Sally. Only problem we and others round us encountered was drunk loud people who talked loudly all the way through the support act and nobody came to tell them to shut up until the interval. It should of been dealt with by the staff much sooner.

Great staff brilliant show and old classic theatre ...but don't book the gallery seats view is obstructed by rigging and hand rails

Lovely little local theatre. However the main theatre could really do with a good clean and a fresh coat of paint. The period features are looking tired and are caked in dust and grime. The seats need recovering and the sound system updating.

Great venue, you get a more intimate atmosphere with the artist. Accessibility for all, and facilities are clean. Bar prices seem reasonable, and there are snacks available. There is no parking, but you can park on local streets, it is free on a Sunday just along from the theatre. I certainly would go back

Went here to see Damian Lewis performance. Great show, thoroughly enjoyable and would definitely recommend and watch again. Fantastic singer and great performer. The band was also impressive as was the supporting singer. Hooe he returns to southend soon. Very clean theatre, Staff friendly and most helpful.

Went to a matinee of Murder in the Dark. The Palace is a nice theatre, paint peeling a bit in places, but it doesn't detract from the performances. The production was very well done. Tom Chambers was excellent, as were the whole cast. Seats in the Royal Circle were in a good position, albeit the people in front were very fidgety, meaning my view was obstructed at times. An enjoyable afternoon.

Plenty of room for a tall man to sit in the stalls. Quality polycarbonate drinks containers so drinks can be taken into the auditorium. Pleasant staff. A grand old, intimate theatre

Love the Palace Theatre. It’s beautiful and atmospheric with gorgeous detailing & warm vibe. We’ve seen so many great shows there including well known comedians and the Leigh On Sea Dramatic Society. It’s so important to support arts locally and we will continue to do so at the Palace.

Lovely to walk around during summer. Some nice coastal path, great for wildlife. Roads are extremely uneven driving into the carpark though, be careful to avoid potholes!

Love this place, it's so beautiful! Lots of different walks to go on and interesting things to see or simply just sit and enjoy the view! Bring a drink and snacks and you can spend the day there just taking it easy.

A circular two mile walk around this island is fantastic for wildlife or just taking the dog for a walk . The scenery looking out to the Thames is something else as well

It is a very good place for long walk, specially on hot sunny day to capture some vitamin D. However, there is not enough facility of toilet, which you can find in a golf cafe, where you need to buy something to use it. The natural beauty is so full, that you won't regret going there. If you are lucky you might see the chorus dance of birds in the sky. Enjoy.

A beautiful nature reserve right on the estuary. It offers quiet and tranquil walking routes either along the river which will take you to Benfleet or along the various routes crossing the reserve. There is plenty of parking either at the entrance to the reserve or right at the very end of the road where you can also launch river vessels, canoes/dinghies/motor boats etc into the water (charge). There are lots of birds to watch as well as the traffic on the river. You will also be able to see Hadleigh castle in the distance. Both Leigh-on-Sea and Benfleet stations are close enough to the path that you could walk from one to the other.

Lovely area to walk your dogs (pick up their mess as bins are provided) but can be a little bit chilly on a winter morning so wrap for cold days.

A great place for a dog walk when the tide is out especially if you dog loves water as much as mine. It has channels running through it so there's always a certain amount of knee deep water there. If it's blowing a Gail you can walk round towards Southend and watch the kite surfing, it's a purfway to blow the Christmas cobwebs out.. Just please be aware of the months you are allowed to take your dogs on the beach

This places is really nice for a little get away just to unwind and watch the sea in the nice hot sun. You can use the area to have fun on like playing football or volleyball (make sure you don’t kick down towards the ocean). There are fixed BBQ where you can make your own food or from what I can remember you can bring your own and cook it on the bank. Lovely little get away.

Lovely peaceful beach and grass area

Calm place to go and chill...families, friends, couples and single people were all enjoying the views and beach. Great toilet facilities and lots of benches to sit on for people who can't manage walking on sand. Ample disabled parking.

Do NOT go here to swim, my foot got scratched and cut up more than I can count and it was all mainly inside the water itself, because of the tides it is extremely bipolar with it's deepness and temperature so that'll be hard to relax or have fun in, I saw a jelly fish just floating on the surface, seaweed comes in waves so good luck swimming for a prolonged period of time, the water is extremely brown to the point i question if i was going to get a brain eating amoeba any second now. It's just not the best place to swim in, however for water related activities its perfect.

We regularly visit this beach during the course of the year & it is always nice & relaxing. Sometimes its very busy but that's to be expected for a local beach. It's also nice to visit at sunset & later in the evening, where it is very quiet & the stars are all out.

Outstanding scenario with clean and clamming weather near the Beach! Alhamdulillah we've enjoyed a lot specially the adjacent Gunners Park is awesome.

Disappointed that they've put a ban on bbq's as this was always a popular thing for families enjoying this beach when I was growing up. Aswell as the lack of bins for rubbish & dog poo bins as it seems to of become quite popular with dog walkers I noticed, many not abiding by the dogs on leads rule from March..

What a lovely beach to go to! Parking space, clean toilets, barbecue areas and big park space ideal for kids to play football or picnicon the grass!. Perfect for family and birthday celebrations! Super easy access from the train station! We will definitely go back 100%

Lovely place to visit for a picnic, you can bbq there which is rare to find. The atmosphere was nice. Parking is cheap with plenty of space. We paid £0.70 for each hour parked there.

Nice place with no crowds, not even on the sunny day we visited. Lots of sea and sand and not much else. Great if you don't need to be entertained and you want a little peace. A small shop and toilets adequate. Close to Shoeburyness train station.

The staff here are so friendly and helpful, especially if your a newbie like me. They take time to explain how it all works and what it all means, I really appreciated that. We visited here for my birthday and had a great time. We had food in the restaurant and the service was incredibly slow, that's why I didn't give the full 5⭐. Never turn up hungry!! It wasn't a busy night and took over 2 hours to get mains... having said that, the food is top notch and amazing. Drinks are reasonably priced and bar staff friendly. Overall a fab night out, something for everyone and I will definitely be returning.

We went as guests with friends. Didn't door much betting as we were there for the show but all in all a nice atmosphere with a great lounge bar and entertainment. The food was above average.

Great place for fun!! This place is open till 5am and we stayed till around 4am. Their services and staffs also good at their job.

Went with my good lady for date night, we booked a table in The Waterfront and the meal was amazing! Have had the steak here for years and always has been my favourite place to eat steak. Cooked exactly as requested and same for my partner. The service has always been friendly and efficient and even with the large party's that we're sat the food was served in a timely manner. After dinner we then played a some roulette and sports on the big screen too. The floor service team serving were professional and a gentleman at the desk was very helpful when asking some questions. We will be back soon!

We are coming annually for my birthday and it never disappoints the staff is helpful the food was very tasty Atmosphere is great but one negative the minimum stake at the live roulette tables gone up from £1 to £5 !!!that is a big jump do they have to get back their losses from COVID that quickly ???I'm sure more people would play if they reinstate £1 or slightly higher ..otherwise it was great ...

Great place for a night out. Food is fabulous, staff are very polite. Often there is live entertainment , you don't have to gamble if you don't want to. Very nice surroundings and the view is amazing 👏

This is a good casino. There is a reasonable selection of games and the price for alcohol is very good. We have eaten there before and the food was decent. Staff are friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed. The high ceilings make the experience feel a little less intense than some other casinos we have visited. The cash machines allow you to withdraw money without a handling fee which is often not the case in casinos. The toilets are modern and very clean. There are plenty of television screen if you want to watch some live sport and the entertainment is fun if a little lacking in quality. A few things which prevent a five star review. - they have removed the £1 minimum bet roulette tables since the pandemic - on our recent visit, lots of people sit around the roulette tables in big groups with only one person gambling - this make it difficult to access the table. Normally, the croupier will prevent this happening but this did not happen. - the cocktails are not freshly prepared

Three course meal with alcohol was a good value and delicious. The staff were very helpful to our son's who had just turned 18yrs.

More than few months now, we didn't win a single penny, we mentioned it to the managers, they told us they they had to lower the fixed percentage,p, usually around 95% of the bets... the truth is the owner wants his machine to return a sufficiently high percentage to the customer so they keep using the machine, but still sufficiently low percentage to ensure his profit. MACHINES ARE MALFUNCTIONING OR CHEATING....

There was a Teddy bear hunt in the Priory. Lovely open space to explore. Swings , ducks, bandstand, cafe, toilets, visitor centre, tennis courts.

Great park in Southend. They have wonderful wall gardens. Very quiet and amazing trees. It's a nice place just to stroll away and enjoy.

Truly stunning park.. FREE.. great for all ages. The gardens, grounds and old buildings are very well kept. There is parking free. Not so much so try to go on days not so busy. There is also a small cafe for drinks and food, or take your own and have a picnic. in the grounds there is a kids play area and also very nice duck ponds.

Wonderful park, with fishing ponds, Priory, formal gardens, and lots and lots of flowering plants from spring to late summer. Play area for kids, snd a band stand, plus recreational areas. Prittle flows through, bordered with marsh flowers. Recommended!

It's a lovely park. Be it summer or winter. So much to look round. Lovely gardens. And big green fields on both sides. Its nicely kept and looked after. In the summer the priory house it's open to the public. Kids and us love going to this park . Lovely walk round and round. There is a kids play ground with so much to do and keep them entertained for hours and hours. Brilliant 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

We stayed here for 3 nights. Located about 1 mile along the seafront from the pier. Good sized free car park for guests. Toby Carvery next door for breakfasts and meals all day long. Rooms are a little tired but are adequate. Staff are absolutely brilliant. Thank you to Chris who greeted us on our arrival. Very welcoming with her great sense of humour. Annabel was helpful, friendly and good humoured. She went the extra mile trying to print off a voucher for me from my email. Jo also was fabulous and went above and beyond by giving us a lift to the neighbouring Premier Inn half a mile towards the town to pick up the voucher. Overall, we had a great stay. All the staff are extremely customer focused and engaging, which is what made our stay. Thank you all.

Comfortable room with chair desk and small bedside tables etc there is a selection of sockets under the TV for use giving HDMI, Audio and USB facilities. There are plenty of uk plug sockets in the room with one either side of the king bed. There is a small open wardrobe with hangers and decent bathroom with shower. Although I would have liked a grab handle in the shower. A good kettle and a small selection of tea and coffee at your disposal.

The staff are really lovely. Really make you feel welcome. The breakfast they advertise at the pub in your room is really dissappoiting, it advertises a continental breakfast and all it is a dry up nothing else. Real shame

We've stayed in many Premier Inn's around the UK, this is by far the worst. There is no air conditioning or ventilation in the rooms other than two small windows which cannot be opened fully due to security cords. This leads to a stuffy, stifling hot room, and although a fan is provided it is impossible to cool down or get fresh air in. There is no attached catering (other than an unaffiliated Toby Carvery nearby) and you will have to drive down the road to the other Premier Inn to get booked breakfasts at the Brewers Fayre, children do eat for free though. The location is nice but this hotel is certainly not recommended; uncomfortable, overpriced, inadequate.

The hotel is well situated in Thorpe Bay, a stone's throw from the beach! It's a standard Premier Inn, big beds, reasonable sized room with basic facilities. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was not working during my stay, and the temperature of the room was not ideal. Also no mini fridge in the room meant that I didn't have cold drinks! Overall a pleasant stay and I hope to return soon!

The lady who checked us in was lovely. So much personality. Just the kind of pleasant friendly greeting you want. However, the room. It really smells. I could only describe it as an old damp carpet/ old people's home/ wet dog smell. Thank goodness we had a candle but this hotel needs to lift the carpet and fit new ones. A refurbishment is definitely needed. WiFi cuts out but when connected it is good.

My first time in the grovener and Michael who’s only been here two weeks captivated me with his charm and exploration on the roulet wheel rules were so helpful it’s made it so easy and fun to play we are winning and having such fun

My first actual casino visit by myself, and it was exactly what I was hoping for. I was initially worried that I hadn't brought enough into the casino, but I was easily able to pass the time. When this place opened, it was 24 hours, but no longer. There are plenty of slots, roulette and other electronic gaming, but I found the most fun on the blackjack tables. I had the good luck of being on the table of a high-roller who decided to give his chips away to the rest of us on the table when he left; why exactly, I don't know. The staff were very approachable and well-trained, although I worry that some of them may be a little overworked. I didn't eat there, so I can't comment on what the restaurant was like. Overall, if you're more interested in serious gambling, then you go to the Gentings in Westcliff, but if you're only interested in casually having fun, then you go here.

Thank you for an amazing night, we all had such a great time. Staff were fantastic and the food was brilliant, everything was perfect and a great venue for a team Christmas meal. Cannot recommend this place enough, the team on the reception desk were super helpful and we all had a very memorable night.

I visited the casino to use the restaurant and bar and had a very nice experience. Food, drink, service and decor were all very good, with a good atmosphere I would definitely recommend it and I would return.

Turned up 5.15p.m,told restaurant don't open till 6,we said wanted just bar snack,we sat down,and waited 10mins,nobody turned up,this is in a var that's completely empty,asked at reception how long,she radioed woman on thee radio,for the woman on the other end,shouting,she was busy and we have to wait,and she was pregnant, well if that was her attitude ,she is in wrong trade,after complaining to manageress,which all we got was excuses that grosvenor laid of loads of staff a yrs ago,what a load of rubbish,this is a member of staff who was rude on the radio,about a paying customer

There’s a nice restaurant, food is good. There’s a Bar, moderately priced, cocktail included. Lots of game slots, there’s a live Roulette and Blackjack tables. Its a great casino in all.

Nice park for a wander, sports grounds and flowers and green grass and a nice little pond. It's a great place for a calm stroll!

Great park with excellent facilities, skate park, playground, basketball and a cafe that serves coffee, snacks and beers. Cricket is played there in the summer.

Small park but nice place for a stroll for a half an hour or so. Nicely labeled rose garden would be brilliant once they start to bloom. There was one rose called National Trust! Kids' play area was busy. Saw some heather growing nicely.

Had a quiet walk through park. Met an historian gentleman on a scooter who told me this fine Yew tree was 400 yrs old. 1250 trees were felled in Leigh to build the Mayflower which sailed from Leigh all those years ago. Etc. After a long chat I sailed on by foot. What an informed fellow.

We went to the fair as most rides were £1.50 .My grandchildren had the time of their life .The side stalls are very expensive £4 a go .Bought 3 waters that cost £6 At the end of the day you expect that.They went on the Waltzer the guy was amazing jumping on twirling them round he was like Spider Man took me back to my youth .I took cash as its alot easier than trying to pay by card but you can do both on most rides etc My youngest granddaughter who is 7 said it was the best day ever so worth every penny

Best space in this park is the rose garden. September has less bloom but it was still beautiful.

This park is absolutely beautiful 😍 it is so well maintained, and the rose 🌹 bushes are a sight to behold, holistically this park is a must and a great place to unwind from the hustle and bustle of the town. I was down from London for the day, so I decided to go and check it out.

Fresh air, good atmosphere, not too many people and in the morning there will be a lot of pet dogs. So if you move dogs come and join the others they mostly gather in the cricket ground. But the park is huge so if you would like a quiet area you have plenty to be in. Kids of any qge would love it as there are many places to roam around.

Love this park. It has beautiful well kept gardens and different sporting facilities and play parks too. Great for a nice bit of fresh air, sit down for a coffee or picnic.

We had a lovely time here, and our daughter really loved the rainbow slides! It's a really big adventure for the kids to play in. There is a brilliant, smaller soft play for little babies and young toddlers and a bigger one for the older kids! There's a big wavy slide, climbing rocks, teddy bear workshop, climbing frames, ball pit, football court, a baby sensory play area, and a young toddler play area A big eating area with lovely food in the cafe and their curly fries were to die for that I had another portion of it! Definitely recommend this place as there's so much to do there and you won't be disappointed!!

Weekday is very quiet and lovely. We have lunch there and stay for about 3 hours. Food is nice. They have a sensory bit (although two of the sound things haven't been working for a while)

A soft play for 0-13 years. Lots of variety inside. From ride alongs Caged football, giant soft play, rock climbing, sensory room, go karts, build a bear and baby area. There is toilets and a cafe inside. £2.50 for use of climbing wall as added extra. Adults have to pay £2.50 to watch children. Clean facility with friendly staff. Plenty of seating. Car parking out front. A bit out of place so ideal if you drive. About 20 minutes walk from Rochford station. You are able to hire the whole facility for birthday parties or you can have a party package. 2 adults 2 children (1 and 9) £23.00 entry with Rock climbing. A good few hours enjoyed by children.

Staff were rude and dismissive of feedback, on more than one occasion. Facilities were unhygienic and food is mediocre at best. There are more inclusive and friendly Soft Play areas nearby, where we'd rather spend our money.

We’ve been coming to Monkey Business on a regular basis for 4 years now. The staff are amazing. They all go above and beyond for the children. Loads of extra activities put on all the time at no extra cost. Toddler mornings, meet the dinosaurs and fairy princess. After school discos to name a few. Coffee and cake is always a must for the adults too.

It was a lovely time we had here There are plenty of things here that were great as they kept our daughter entertained! Food was lovely, especially the curly fries 🍟

Went here for a bday party just before Xmas. I found the pricing is rather unfair for little children aged 1-3 years old. I paid £7.50 for a 1 year old to throw a couple of plastic balls around. Children aged 5+ pricing is more reasonable as they can enjoy their selves more and make more of the facilities

Lovely place to take kids, the 3 different soft play areas are great + the sensory room. Rock climbing as well (when it's actually open)! Only disappointing this is they don't often open the big slide in the main soft play area, I'd imagine due to lack of staff. The downside is that the staff just look so unhappy and miserable walking around or even serving you! Plus the toilets in the women's are really low down (obviously for the kids I know) but not very comfortable to sit on I would still recommend this place for a rainy day as there's lots for the kids to do: Baby area Toddler area Sensory room Junior area Sports area Sensory room Plus several party rooms! Never to old to go down the other slide either 🙊🤣

Visit here often with my little girl. Facilities are always clean, staff are friendly and they have allergen information for all of their food which is great for any one who cant have certain things, like me! They clearly display their rules on the website and reception desk and we are told upon entry about no food being brought in, so I'm not sure why there are negative reviews about this

I'm disappointed 😞. The cutlery was dirty ( dried cheese and tomato sauce) I did report this- it wasn't washed up properly. My jacket potato came out, cheese and beans with butter. No butter was put on and beans were overcooked to the point of no bean sauce and some of them were hard, very DRY. I will not be purchasing food here again 😒
