We loved this place, despite its pricy for August, but anyway worth it. The only thing I would suggest owner is to ban smoking on the beach. As sometimes there are people smoking cigarettes every five second, which is annoying.

This is one of very few fine white sand beaches in Puglia region. It's located some 15 min drive south from beautiful Gallipoli. Parking is a problem in peak August season when we visited and it's paying. The Gallipoli Castle stands just aside the bridge to the old town. It's a 17 c structure built to control the harbor entrance. Castle is in a good shape and can be seen entirely walking the mainland side and from the bridge

You have full view on the cost and you can learn more about the history of the place and also his relevance in the oil commerce. If you like you can visit it inside and have an immersion in ancient centuries. I definitely recommend a visit. Mid September / beginning of October it's the best period of the year. Blue sky, blue amazing sea and no more than 25 degrees and you can fully enjoy astonishing landscapes!

A nice beach right on the edge of the town. There’s a main parking lot about 10 minute walk to the beach. You can’t really park by the beach itself. The sand was nice and the water was shallow, calm and green. There were a few seaweed collections in the water but you could avoid. Lots of great restaurants up on the road overlooking the water. No beach amenities though. Bring your own stuff. Probably could see it getting busy on certain days or certain times.

Sadly, the beach of purity is awash with what I suspect to be dead olive tree bark and leaves (there is a raging plague killing olive trees in the region). The water is still clean but the beach is caked with dead plants. The black coastline in my photo are in fact layers of dead leaves.
