A beautiful little city and a magnificent castle complex. Truly fairytale medieval architecture. I made a day visit from Prague. Note: I was in low season, mid March so many tourist traps were closed… who cares? I spent a good number of hours walking in and around, the views from outside are breathtaking. Love the whole experience, the place is so beautiful that i cant described it, so im gonna be attaching some photos, but its definitely worth the time, u have to walk a lot uphill/downhill so my suggestion is to wear snickers, BUT its perfect for taking pictures so if u wanna cute pictures u should bring clothes so u can change. The place is magical, just like the movies beautiful gardens, houses inside the castle, they also have 2 bears that u can see there. The view at the bridge is great. Around the castle there are restaurants and places to buy some souvenirs and u also can do kayak there. Love everything about it.

One of the places I loved in Cesky Krumlov was the imposing castle. It feels like it surrounds the city and tries to protect it from all the bad things that could come. I visited out of season, (in February) so I could not visit the interior, but even so I was very impressed. The season starts sometime in March from my understanding, and it lasts all summer, they have a breathing period and during the Christmas period it gets incredibly busy again. Visiting outside season was good for me as I had the possibility to walk around and enjoy everything without having to wait in line☺️ Coming back to the castle, it has incredible views overlooking the city and the surroundings. The interior courtyard is well kept and you still have a lot of incredible architecture details and paintings to admire. There is a museum, theater, a souvenir shop, restaurant and a very nice coffee shop with a breathtaking view. Definitely worth visiting!

Amazing place! Almost no people, I highly recommend visiting during late winter/early spring in order to avoid crowds. There are brown bears, you can watch them playing, fighting or chasing pigeons (which are not afraid of the bears at all).

Very nice castle where you can walk around for free or take one of several guided tours. Route 1 will show you the more fancy rooms, as well as the gilded coach and the Masquerade Hall. It lasts about an hour, some are available in English, costs about $10. Toilets are in one of the castle courtyards, clean, cost 20Kč. The bears in the moat have historical ties to the last Rosenberg rulers who used to demonstrate their relationship to a noble Italian family of Orsini (which means a bear).

Castle, mountain, lake, curvy streets, I really can see why people say this is the movie beautiful town in Czech Republic and top ranked in Europe. We enjoyed this garden very much. It may have been the time of year (October) but the garden was dominated by green rather than color. The hedges were perfectly cut and well maintained in sweeping geometric arrays. The fountain was spectacular. Some areas had obviously been dedicated to horse training. At the end of the gardens there was an entryway to a passage (since closed off) that connected the gardens through the castle, through the town (mostly through attics) all the way down to the Abbey 2 miles away. When functional, you could have walked from the gardens to the town below without having ever been seen. Intriguing!

We read other reviews and visited because it was a museum not to be missed if in Cesky Krumlov. I am so glad we did. It was very interesting. It is very well presented and really does give an insight into photography. Having paid at the first house and collecting a headset in our language, we entered the main house. Each room was numbered, and selecting that number on the headset gave you an account of what was in the room. One of the rooms had a lot of artefacts and you could sit and watch a film, again in your own language by selection. We thoroughly enjoyed the house and gardens and glad we got to explore this house.

A very interesting place in Český Krumlov that you should visit is the beautifully reconstructed museum of a famous Czech photographer located in his house and studio. You'll explore fascinating original spaces from the garden to the attic, where original equipment, cameras, and all accessories are exhibited, including a functional darkroom where you can try developing a real photograph in a traditional way. The staff is friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it and also thank you for the great experience here.

When visiting the museum you get an audio guide which helps you get a good glimpse into a different time ~100 years, the work intensive photographing process and the life of a family. Food for thought and a wonderful house. Cannot recommend the Krumlov Card highly enough if you stay in the city for several days; this interesting museum is included and worth visiting. With regards to the photo studio session in historical dress, my Mum and I did that as well and pre-booked a timeslot via email. The photographing team put in a lot of effort, were competent and the dresses and accessories were lovely. Excellent little museum with a beautiful art noveau house. Get the audio guide and wander around the house at your leisure. Most of the items on display are restored originals or due to the number of photos available exact replicas.

This place is an incredibly well preserved time capsule with an amazing collection of items that belonged to the family. You can literally feel the history here. The museum offers an “electronic guide” in English and some other languages. Absolutely recommended if you're interested in photography!

Thrilled to visit this house. Myself an amateur photographer and having found my grandhads old negatives and restoring them, i loved the opportunity to see all of this history so well preserved. Lots of detail and information, could be laid out a little better though, with a clear path through instead of having it all open to wander around. Most things have English text, although not in as much detail as the Czech text.

One of the best regional museums in Southern Bohemia, and not crowded with the hordes of tourists you see on all other hotspots of Krumlov. Take 2-3 hours of time and enjoy! Czech language skills are for sure benefits your experience, not all descriptions are translated.

Very interesting experience. Could not find any mention of the town's Jewish population which was disappointing but there was an honest appraisal of the banishment of the German population. This was the first honest mention of Benes decrees I have come across in Czechia.

Staff was so kind and cheerful. Definetly worth to visit and ıt costs only 1€ for student who have ISIC card.

Small but very complete museum exhibiting works of local artists (we saw Martin Sital & Marie Sitalova's one which was amazing) as well as the history of this area from pre-historical ages up to today. The part about the war time was particularly eye-opening.

Synagogue wasn't open on Sunday, seems like it's only open on Saturdays. However cafe is open everyday except Tuesday and Wednesday during February. It's a quiet little cafe, outdoor sitting looked peaceful too. Great place to visit if you want a quick break from busier part of the old town.

Today, the beautifully renovated and maintained object was built in 1909 in the neo-Romanesque style with Art Nouveau elements. It is certainly interesting that this was the first building on the whole territory of Austria-Hungary, for the construction of which a reinforced concrete structure was used. The plans were designed by Victor Kafka, a Prague architect based in Vienna. The construction was largely financed by the local wealthy factory family Spiro and carried out under the leadership of the builder Sosna. The best pastry shop we have ever tried not just in Krumlov but anywhere. They offer very spectacular desserts. My English is not good enough to describe the perfection of the flavours here. They also provide friendly and helpful service. Do not expect super low prices though. You have to pay for this kind of quality. Highy recommended.

Cute little cafe located in the old part of Cesky Krumlov. They have very beautiful looking pastries and with Kolach which I tried because of the reviews. The Kolach was quite tasty indeed, I wouldn't say cheap though at Kc85 a piece. Service was friendly and attentive. Menu is only in Czech. Your standard fare of coffee and hot drinks along with a few others. Interior is not cozy but rather chic pink, Parisian style. What I did not appreciate was being charge Kc20 for a carafe of tap water. Almost globally tap water is never charged for unless its source is bottled or carbonated. Kc20 for tap water without being told it costs that much is ridiculous.
