The tents look nice. The beach looks nice. But trust me, staying here is not nice.
That nice beach? Full of jellyfish. You can’t swim without constant stings. And the sand is full of sand fleas eating up your legs.
The nice tent? It’s about 35 degrees inside during the day even with AC on, but most importantly it doesn’t have a toilet, and the shared toilets are pretty open-air, so they’re full of mosquitos, geckos, event a fun cricket that leapt on me at 4am. As well, because they have to keep the paths to the toilets lit all night, the tent is bright enough to read at night. Up the beach, the Mad Monkey bar plays loud dance music until the wee hours. There are dozens of beach dogs, and although the tent area is fenced, the door is left open 24-7 and the security make no effort to keep the dogs out. As a result, there were mangy stray dogs drinking from the pool, following us around, and two of them slept on our porch all night so you had to pass by them to use the toilet. We stayed two nights and both nights they woke us growling, mating, and fighting on our porch- and that’s what we had to pass by to use the toilet. Didn’t have rabies on my holiday bingo card.
At least there’s a pool, right? Full of screaming, horrible kids; only 8 loungers, all of them in the scorching sun. There’s a pool bar. Sometimes the cocktails were nice, sometimes tasted like rubbing alcohol. Russian roulette!
So imagine, you’re on a beautiful beach you can’t swim in, the weather is scorching so the only relief is the pool (your tent is too hot to use in the day) and the pool is full of screaming kids. When you finally want to rest at night, your tent is lit up bright, dance music is drowning out the wave sounds, and when you have to pee you leave the tent to use an outhouse full of mozzies, passing by the growling dogs who took over your tent. I don’t know who would enjoy this place.
I’ve stayed in several glamping properties over the years in many countries, and this is by far the worst. They forgot the glam part.
In case you can’t tell, I hated this place. But to offer a balanced review, I will highlight a few positives-
-breakfast was better than expected
-the staff were friendly
-transfers in and out were professionally and reliably managed
