(Translated by Google) Well, I'm going to tell you what the fair is from the perspective of a local.
The April fair is not designed for tourists, this is a reality. It is a celebration for locals and this is noticeable in the atmosphere.
The fair is set up in a large fairground that is like a small city, within the city itself. It is divided into streets and at the same time into “booth” numbers. The booths are small red and white or green and white houses, the vast majority of which are private. This means that families or groups of friends pay annually to have the right to their own booth at the fair. You cannot access these booths unless the members themselves invite you. Therefore, almost all of them have goalkeepers. However, there are public booths to access. They are not that pretty but hey, it is a place where you can go to drink and eat. I recommend that you search on the internet to find out what they are so you can go for it.
The fair begins on Saturday night with the “pescaito” dinner, which is basically a dinner for members of each private booth. After dinner, “the lighting” takes place where the façade and lanterns are lit and the fair begins. That night the women do not dress as “flamenco”. The label is “semi-gala”, meaning that people dress up quite a bit. From the next day the daytime fair begins and yes, there you will see the women dressed as flamenco. Men never dress “shortly” unless they are riding a horse or as a “coachman” (driving a horse-drawn carriage). Very important if you don't want to look like a tourist, flamenco dress etiquette:
- Flamenco dresses are the only regional costumes that follow fashion, so if you don't know very well what it's like, better than normal (fixed) dresses.
- Flamenco women do not wear sunglasses.
- Flamenco women don't carry bags.
- Flamenco dresses follow fashion, so if your dress is very old, don't wear it, it is very noticeable.
- Current flamenco dresses are almost always long sleeved.
- The footwear used is the typical “espartos” or flamenco shoe (a dance shoe although it is uncommon).
-Always carry a fan.
- Use a shawl with hand-sewn fringes. The shawls with machine-made or “glued” fringes are of very poor quality and the Sevillians do not wear them.
- The flower always goes at the top of the head or, failing that, you can use a flamenco flower crown in a high-side area. The flowers on one side are not taken.
- If you are going to wear street clothes, don't wear flowers. It does not fit. It looks quite touristy.
In addition to this, you should know that men go to the fair very well dressed. Mainly in a suit, at least with chinos, a long-sleeved shirt and dress shoes. If you are a boy, do not go in Bermuda shorts, shorts, etc. Preferably wear a long-sleeved shirt, not a printed one. Do not wear sports shoes. You better wear a tie. If you are invited to a private booth they may not let you enter without a tie.
Hell Street is the attraction area. It is usually more common to see very young people or families with children there.
Horses and horse carriages circulate through the fair from 11 in the morning to 8 in the afternoon. From there the fair begins at night and they leave the fair. Therefore, if you want to see the most traditional fair, go during the day.
I recommend that you get a map of the fair to know where to go.
Enjoy the fair!

No queda bien.
No lleves calzado deportivo.
