Been to this Haven a few times, the location is nice and can be used as a base in order to visit the surrounding areas. Our gold class caravan was lovely and clean. The kitchen utensils are cheap and flimsy, so would probably recommend bringing your own in order to easily chop, slice vegetables and meats. The two seater sofa wasn’t somewhere that I could lounge comfortably for very long, so would have preferred an L shaped sofa in order to relax with my partner. Our mattress wasn’t comfortable either, it was too soft, with no support, too narrow and far too short for two adults to rest and sleep well. We both found ourselves waking up in the morning with back aches and a little grouchy. The facilities are ok, however during busy periods they are just not fit for purpose, queues at the bars, long waiting times for food and nowhere to sit…….
I completely understand that it’s a holiday resort and people are there with their families to enjoy themselves, however it’s not a kindergarten for out of control children to run round screaming, jumping on bar furniture and the stage props causing mayhem ruining other guests experiences, if my own children behaved in this way, I would not only be embarrassed, but consider myself to be a bad parent! Unfortunately degenerates think it’s ok to smoke cannabis within a family holiday park, something I feel Haven needs to have a zero tolerance approach to and actively expell these individuals. Smoking areas need to be situated far away from the entrance/exit of the entertainments and arcade area, as the smell of tobacco smoke blows into the arcade area and made me feel sick, probably even worse if your a child. The bar, papa johns, Burger King, chop stix and the chip shop prices are extortionately inflated in my opinion, if anything they should be subsidised for paying quests staying at your caravan park. Alternatively I encourage people to buy and cook their own food from the local supermarkets, as no one likes being ripped off. As we have to book our holidays during half terms, it seems that Haven grossly inflate their prices as a way of making more money during these times. I feel this practice needs to be regulated in order to make it fair for all.
