Pros:
Location is great! Beautiful views. Cute rooms. The breakfast was pretty and yummy. Lots of activities like paddle boarding, sailing, biking or kayaking are available.
A few small details that I didn’t like:
The chairs are split between guests with rooms, and guests with day passes. That was inconvenient because chairs get taken up by people who aren’t even paying to stay in the place.
I acknowledge that there is a lot dining chairs so technically there’s more than enough chairs for them to sell day passes. The problem is no one wants to sit in dining chairs, they want the chairs by the water.
My suggestion would be to give priority to overnight guests and set aside 1 beach chair per overnight guest. Then the remaining deck chairs can go to day passes (if there are still enough chairs available.)
My other suggestion would be to only allow day passes for people to sit in dining area, and access the water/activities, but not to sit in the deck area.
Sometimes the waitress didn’t bring her A game.. I was sitting at a table with plenty of open tables around me, and the waitress was basically cleaning the table around my arms. I think she could have waited until I was ready to leave the table. (Again, there were other tables available. There was no need to rush to clean the table)
Sometimes she was also a little slow to bring things like water or sugar for coffee after I had asked for them.
Overall, a beautiful place to stay! I don’t regret it. The facilities are nice and there are lots of activities. Those are just my few minor complaints/ suggestions for a better stay for future guests
Edited from 4 stars to 3 because of this: breakfast is complementary, they offer a menu for pizza and pastas for lunches and dinner. Each person from our group did order drinks and food at some point, even though we didn’t need to. We also ventured out to try other places, and explored the town so we didn’t always eat at Búho.
We stayed 2 nights, so we had a right to 2 breakfasts. Before our second breakfast, my sister in law was down by the tables, and one of the staff said to another “oh they don’t come down for lunch or dinner, but they sure do come down for breakfast” (implying that we only came down for breakfast because it was complementary)
First of all, we were respectful of the “no outside food” rule. We didn’t feel like eating pizza or pasta for every meal, so we went out to eat at other places.
Second of all, we paid for 3 rooms, so of course we are going to eat the food that is OFFERED as part of what we paid for. We never asked for anything beyond what was included in our free breakfast.
Third, the disrespect is unacceptable. We are respectful, paying guests, they are staff. We didn’t deserve the snark.
I left it 3 stars because the place is nice, but staff deserves less. Staff needs some serious training and manners in order for this place to deserve 5 stars.
