I’ve eaten at Michie Sushi Ranelagh a few times now and it’s probably my favourite Japanese food restaurant. The dining area is always clean and organised with a lovely aesthetic which provides a nice, cozy atmosphere and the service is excellent with friendly, welcoming staff. When it comes to the food, it certainly exceeded my expectations the first time I came here and the quality never failed to maintain those standards since my first visit. The waiting time for food preparation is relatively short and portion sizes have never been an issue in my experience.
Their menu offers a wide selection which will satisfy even the pickiest of eaters and they have good set of options suitable for vegetarians and vegans. One of my favourite dishes here, for example, is the Tofu Yaki Udon, comprised of Yaki Udon noodles, tofu and a variety of vegetables, as the name suggests.
For anyone going here for the first time or who isn’t very familiar with their menu, I would strongly recommend the Fujiyama Roll from their special menu, which is one of the best foods I’ve ever eaten. It may seem a little pricy at first sight, but don’t be fooled by this; it’s worth it! I think they only offer it for dine-ins, so that’s worth noting for anyone who’s considering getting a take-away or delivery instead.
I usually like to go here on my lunch breaks (alone or accompanied), but the food that’s offered is suitable as much for lunch as for dinner. I would especially recommend this spot for anyone going on a casual or semi-casual date, but it’s certainly not limited to that and makes for a good option for small family outings too. The restaurant is somewhat hidden but it’s honestly a small treasure trove that’s just waiting to be discovered
