Murphy's Restaurant in Prescott offers a mix of experiences according to reviews. While some visitors found the atmosphere cool and enjoyed their meals, others were disappointed with the quality of food and service. Positive highlights include friendly service, fantastic appetizers like mussels and crab cakes, perfectly cooked main dishes such as Pork Chop, Prime Rib, and scallops with risotto, as well as delicious desserts like Cheesecake and Chocolate Cake made in-house. The restaurant also received praise for its historic ambiance located near Whiskey Row in downtown Prescott.
I randomly popped into this place for a bloody marry and I’m happy I did. The atmosphere was really cool and the service was friendly. I enjoyed my Bloody Mary and all the food specials looked good as well. Seems like a great spot to go with family or friends. Worth checking out!
Oh wow what a fantastic 36 year anniversary meal we just had at Murphy's. The scallops and risotto were perfect, and I mean perfect! The beet and pecan salad....yum. Tiffani, our server was so sweet, and helpful in menu choices. Can't wait to go back!
We tried this place for dinner while visiting from out of town. We were greeted right away and seated. The server got our drink order right away. We ordered the mussels appetizer which was fantastic. They bring you fresh bread and garlic butter to snack on which tasted great.
I ordered the Pork Chop and my partner ordered the Prime Rib, both were cooked to perfection. Also added a Crab Cake which was delicious. For dessert we ordered the Cheesecake and Chocolate Cake. Both were made in house and tasted fantastic. I do not usually like Cheesecake but theirs tasted like homemade. We cannot wait to return.
Food was top notch! The bread was fresh and had a really good garlic butter that even the really picky 5yr old liked...the appetizer crab cakes with the mustard sauce were top shelf! The ribs were tender and the bbq sauce was amazing.. the Mac n cheese was very good.. the salmon was top 3 in my book and I've had salmon all over the US. The gkids had kids menu burgers and fries and really loved the fries but the burgers were above their palate for 3 and 5yr olds I think.. the pesto chicken pasta was just ok.. it needed something, the pesto was bland and there didn't seem to be any seasoning.. it wasn't bad, it just was ok.. overall a great dinner.. we will be back.
Murphy's is adequate at best. A consistent mediocrity since my first meal there in 1991. Today, a very poorly cooked omelette stimulated a violent rejection by my body. So much so I wonder if it had been contaminated by unwashed bathroom hands. Unfortunate things happen, but the manager did not inspire forgiveness with his off hand response - "others have eaten omelettes today and they weren't sick."
