An absolutely hidden gem! I never even knew these tunnels existed let alone the history of them. The guided tour was fascinating and the guide very passionate and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend!!

Extremely worthwhile experience. Fascinating 1.5hour tour of the tunnels. Our guide, Paul, was informative and engaging. Went with a 74 year old, 10 year old and 8 year old and all enjoyed it! The very reasonably priced ticket is worth every penny. Would recommend to any visitors to Ramsgate!

Good experience and very informative. Lived in Kent all my life and only heard about the tunnels last year. Hard hats to be warned as a health and safety precaution. Our tour guide was quiet fast paced with approx 25 ppl on the tour but a lot of ground was covered. 6 children were on the tour and appeared engaged. Worth a visit. Family ticket is cheaper than 2 adults and 1 child making it affordable. There is a small museum worth visiting whilst waiting for tour but equally accessible after tour if you don't have time. There is a small cafe serving drinks and cakes, although we didn't stay for this. Looks nice.

Absolutely brilliant place to visit👍the museum part, free, is excellent...but the tour, well worth the £8, is unbelievable...the story's bring everything to life and highlight the struggles our parents/grandparents went through....highly recommend...don't miss it👍👍👍

If your in Ramsgate, then one of your must see experiences is to take a guided tour of the Ramsgate wartime Tunnels. Our two hour tour took us deep into the tunnels. Our volunteer guide told us the story of why the tunnels were built and used during the war period. For all ages even my grandsons loved it as well.

Steeped in history and I loved all the reconstructions of the little lodges in the main tunnel. Lovely staff too. I would say though that the initial talk and presentation by the guide was far too long and went into the kind of minutiae that most people will find a bit tedious, never mind smaller children for whom 30 minutes standing still will be too much to ask of them.

Its been a good experience, especially learning about the history of the Ramsgate Tunnel. Tour guides were very informative and helpful. Recommended to family and friends! I got more photos inside the tunnel but its up for you to see and experience as well!

We visited Ramsgate Tunnels for the evening 'Railway Tour' in August 2022. The evening started with a quick H&S brief and then an information film in an underground hut. The tour was guided through the old Victorian railway tunnel. The tour guides (three) were all friendly and knowledgeable in terms of the tunnel system and local history. One tour guide assistant, Georgie, was excellent. Deep into the tour, some visitors were spooked and wanted to get out of there, so Georgie guided them all the way back to the entrance and out to the esplanade, then she came all the way back alone through the dark tunnel system. Very impressive! Overall, it was a very enjoyable and informative evening. I would recommend it to everyone, but probably not for children under ten years old because it's dark in the tunnels and the terrain is quite uneven.

When we went we weren't able to go inside the tunnel. It was blocked due to some beer festivals. However it's a must visit tunnel. Next to the tunnel there is a stairs where you can climb up and see the amazing view of the sea from the top. It looks beautiful.

If you only do one thing in Ramsgate, then do this guided Tunnels tour. What a truly wonderful visitor experience it is too and well worth the poultry admission charge. The whole experience was made extra special by our Guide, local historian Bruce and his wife Lois, it's very clear how passionate Bruce is about this network of tunnels. His passion is real and captivating as he unfolds the history and human stories behind this fascinating labyrinth of tunnels that literally saved the lives of thousands of Ramsgate residents that horrific day in 1940. The 1hr30min tour was the highlight of our three day stay in Ramsgate. For all you who don't find history interesting I challenge you to take this tour with Bruce... I guarantee that you will find it utterly engaging.

An amazing attraction hidden in Ramsgate near the beach. Fascinating 1.5 hour tour taken by a very knowledgeable guide learning about its history. I would certainly recommend this unique attraction.

Excellent tour! Very informative and interesting to learn about the important role the tunnels played during WW2. Just make sure you have appropriate footwear as the ground is uneven. Well worth a visit!

excellent guided tour of a unique feature of a town that the Germans in both WWs dumped their bombs as for many it was the first and last place they flew over in England. Thanks to a visionary mayor (they did once exist) these tunnels were dug under the main streets to enable quick refuge by the townsfolk during raids.

What a great way to spend a wet and windy day, inside the tunnels keeping dry . .Very informative and interesting facts given. Interesting for both adults and children, I'd recommend this experience to all and especially home ed kids. I took my teenage son to learn more about the war times. An outside class room experience to really get an understanding of some of our English history

I highly recommend this trip. It's a fascinating look into the history of wartime Britain. The guides are super helpful and explain everything. It is 2 hours well worth spending and worth a trip. Of course, once you finish the guided tour, there are plenty of things to do in Ramsgate. You get to experience the tunnel system and how it helped save lives during the bombings. The tunnels run deep and cold. Be prepared to walk a fair bit. I got to experience total darkness as the guide Steve demonstrated to us how the people in the tunnel must have felt when the lights went out. Highly recommended.

Tranquil and welcoming as always! Shame ferries are not operating anymore. This used to be a second busiest port in the country, truckers favourite as crossing to Oostende was four hours, ideal for four hours brake and more!

Visited the harbour to see the Galleon. The harbour was good as always. Wouldn't bother with the galleon for the price, but she's probably moving on soon

A beautiful harbour to walk around and eat at some of the lovely restaurants, anytime of year. The most spectacular time to visit is Christmas as sailors decorate their boats with colourful Christmas lights.

My home town harbour its beautiful. Great to wander around plenty of small cafes around the area to sit and have a rest as well

Had a walk around and about, it's beautiful to see all those lovely boats that I'll never have or afford :) but we met a few lovely dog walkers that accosted there in particular a French lady with a friendly hound. I'll never forget the accent and how she was dressed, very presentable, can't unsee it now! Any way it's worth a walk around if weather allows it.

I had a very enjoyable wander round Ramsgates historic harbour on a sunny July morning with my lovely partner. It's a good place for disabled and pushchairs and easy to walk out along the harbour arms with plenty of seating for those who want to watch the boats and seagulls. The cafés and bars under the arches are very tempting and brick a brac shops are always fascinating to look round.

Great marina run by town council. Short stroll to town and seafront restaurants etc

What an amazing harbour..lots of places to eat and drink to suit all pockets... something always going on. I'd suggest walking out to the lighthouse and looking back..fab views..will try and post a pic. It's very much a working harbour..I think it's the only Royal harbour in the UK. If you're lucky you may see a seal in the marina itself. Worth a walk out at night too.

Stopped off here late afternoon, and the whole place is lovely. There is plenty of walkways that navigate around the marina, with plenty of places to eat. Parking is pay and display close by to the Marina, however an 8-10min walk is where you can find free parking and a lovely coastline pathway, or a slightly higher up hill-top walkway. Definitely worth a visit as the place is very lively and has a great vibe and feel to it.

The place itself is really nice with plenty of thing to do for every group age, good food (little expensive) parking spaces, shops, pubs you will find everything there.

Lovely Sandy beach which can get very busy on the right side. A bit too much seaweed and stones on the left side and parking is ok

Lovely sandy beach stretch and great for walks. Can also go for a swim lifeguards nearby. Beautiful lovely areas to sit in the sun and enjoy the view. Public toilets dotted around the place. Places to eat and shop nearby. Boats harboured close by with marina and church.

Plenty of space to walk, sandy beach(which is not that common in the UK), sufficient toilets and restaurants around. Seafront cafe are not that expensive. Definitely recommend to anyone who likes sandy beach.

Its a very nice place especially with its fine sands which I missed back in my country. Relaxing place. Love the sun especially in the late afternoon!

What a wonderful find! This is a proper treasure trove of retro computing fare, I was absolutely in my element here. Mike and Carol have amassed a vast array of machines and many of them are fully interactive with games to play aplenty. We spent a great couple of hours here and would highly recommend it - I'd definitely go again, as there's so much to explore and play. Thank you to Mike for a really interesting chat, too.

Great place to discover the history of computing. Walls full of information and display cases full of every computer you can imagine, including handhelds and obscure items. Many machines setup and ready to use, but game library was a little lacking - mostly just to play what is already setup. The owners were super helpful though and I'm sure if there was something specific I wanted, they would have hunted out. If you love your computers, it's definitely worth a visit. Show your kids how far we've come ;)

On a short visit to Ramsgate found this small but wonderful museum dedicated to the history of the computer. It took me back to my days playing on my Spectrum and Amiga. Happy Days! The owners of the museum were engaging and very much provide an informative and interesting background to computers. My son (& I) enjoyed playing old Super Mario Kart, Tetris & Sonic The Hedgehog on the old consoles which visitors are welcome to play. There were many Consoles for visitors to try. Whether a younger or older visitor - this is a worthwhile place to come. Reminisce, Participate (in one or two player games) or just marvel at how computers have changed over time. Recommended.

As someone who has grown up playing games on various different consoles from Nintendo, playstation and Xbox, this little museum is a great visit. There are also plenty of old school PC's and other old bits of technology. I definitely recommend it and I think it's worth the £5 entry fee.

The Micro Museum is an excellent place to visit. It has a great collection of computers and consoles, I loved seeing the Sinclair C5. You are welcomed by the husband and wife team who are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

Lovely, informative and friendly staff. Some classics in here along with a mix of more modern consoles (00's). Would have been cool if some of the old PC's were up and running but still a great little museum!

Such an epic collection full of nostalgia! There are numerous consoles and games available for play. It's impressive to see laid out in one place the technology timeline and visually see the growth and change within this ever evolving industry. Owners and staff are very friendly.

The Micro Museum was a great trip down memory lane for me. I has a BBC micro as a young teenager in 1983, followed by by other Acorn computers. My friends had a variety of other home computers, and it was great to see all the old home computers again. It was especially good to play with a working BBC micro. Many computers are set up with games running, and the owners are super friendly and great to talk to about the exhibits. A great afternoon out!

Wow! Got to play some Spectrum classics including Halls of the Things again, have a crack on the Dreamcast and gaze in amazement at the incredible array of games, consoles, handhelds and computers that define my generation and around 50yrs of gaming. Brilliant!

An absolutely fantastic place to visit. I came across the museum by accident and enjoyed it thoroughly. Although it's small, I spent longer in their than I expected. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The museum is seasonal, so check before you visit.

Not much going on there now days still has the nature reserve that's a nice place to visit & it's free...only pay for parking that has an "honestly box" to put in the amount you want. Remember all the money the car park makes is reinvested into the reserve so please pay something even a pound goes a long way for them!

A beautiful, surreal place with white chalk cliffs and brown Thanet Sand above. Some echinoid and bivalve fossils in the chalk, but they are mostly fragmented. The tide comes in pretty quickly due to the gentle gradient. Don't get caught out! Stay off the grass on the sand bars - where the nesting birds are. Keep to the designated walking areas closer to the shore!

A nice, tranquil place where the hovercraft used to come in too. A shame that the service stopped !! If they had been coming in here still, then it would have cost a lot in maintenance. As the concrete is lifting on the hovercraft apron. The site was "gifted" to the hovercraft museum, but they have yet to take up the option to move here.

The Sailors' Church was built in the mid 19th century to minister to the the men and boys who fished out of Ramsgate, and to provide accommodation for the fishing apprentices (also known as Smack Boys) and emergency space for shipwrecked sailors. The church itself is essentially rectangular and occupies the ground floor of the three-floor building. The rooms above, and the building next door, originally served as living quarters. The interior of the church is quite plain.

Opened in 1878, a red brick building with a blue brick banding which has Sailors Home inscribed on the central gable. The church is a Grade II listed building, inside there was a dormitory which was used for survivors from shipwrecks. It's a fascinating place, there are cabinets and pictures inside that paint a picture of the area and tell the story of the building.
