Great walk & the view’s on a clear day are spectacular. Worth the climb. No rubbish around thankfully just sadly some dog walkers filled poo bags that they discarded instead of disposing of properly. Best to keep dogs on lead people!

Very steep for us short folk but a very exhausting workout to the top. If you are doing the hardest route direct to the top my advice would be to wear hiking boots with very good grips. Even a small shower of rain will make those rocks slippery as all hell and it gets steeper and harder the further you go up. Safety first.

Nice place for hiking, but it can be dangerous for kids or someone with mobility issues, the place needs some kind of safety side rails at certain tracks. Take some water with you as you will get tired and thirst. I think visiting the place in winter will be a big risky challenge.

Great walk out here. We arrived at about 1pm. car park wasn't full at all, was on a Thursday, and had to pay via card, no cash accepted. Toilets are here too, which is great 👍 benches to have your picnic. We were going to have our picnic at the top of Roseberry, but it was far too windy, and the rain was heading towards us. None the less it didn't spoil our adventure

Lovely quick and easy walk if you're and experienced hiker, might be challenge if it's your first hike, but overall you can do a walk up the top and rpund it in about 2-3h from the parking lot

It is a challenging ascent in two stages. The woodland part has multiple routes with parts that offer no grip. Then from the field to the top starts off calm and there are multiple routes to choose, some rock steps that are dubious and side paths that have been added by ramblers. The top is breathtaking. Allow 2hrs and be prepared to turn back if not kitted out correctly. Lots of other people hiking. Paybyphone is the parking provider.

Lovely place, quite a short and slightly steep climb. Good views from the top. Get there early if you want a nearby parking place.

The parking machine only offers payment for up to 2hrs and then over 2hrs. If you only want to walk up roseberry topping and then down again and are of average fitness pay for 2hrs. If you're going further pay for more parking. It took us 40 min to get up to the top on the steep route and only slightly longer walking down an easier slope route. There are no maps to let you know the direction to take for which route you might want. There are toilets but they weren't clean.

Beautiful spot for a hike. There’s loads of routes, but the most fun is the most direct route to the top. It’s a 20 minute very quick hike from the car park which is guaranteed to get your whole body fired up and your heart pumping. The views are superb all around and there’s choices of winding routes down, or the way you came, which is a little more challenging given the steepness of some of the scrambling to get up!

Was a gorgeous day for a hike, lots of stairs to get to the top, but ample places to take breaks if needed. Views are stunning once you get to the top, we are national trust members but the car park is run by another Trust so parking needed to be paid for. There's toilets in the carpark which were clean over all a nice day out

A great walk and the fresh air is amazing. I got the train to Great Ayton then had a nice walk to Roseberry Topping . Wish I had been wearing shorts or walking trousers because it not good in jeans lol 🙃 but overall was a nice walk certainly got the blood pumping. I would recomend take a drink because there's no shops for a few miles also no toilets. It definitely is the great outdoors. Also a great place to walk dogs 🐕 😀 can't wait to do it again

Visited last week, such a shame that it is not in operation. Never the less the visitor centre was open and the man that worked there more than made up for this. He was very enthusiastic and full of local knowledge and information. He was very happy to talk to us and show us around he even took a family photo for us.

Shame this place was closed when I went but it will re open near the end of january! I only know of it because of Tom Scott! Will review again when I go back and use it!

It's a Fabulous piece of engineering  but has been closed due to maintenance. One of the most iconic and historic pieces of Middlesbrough’s History. An amazing sight to visit and travel across. It's a historical landmark. Still strong enough to do its job.

Unfortunately it's not in use at the moment but it's still a massive structure just to see. Heard about the bridge many years ago and on our recent trip to North Yorkshire it turned out that we were staying a short drive away so we had to see it. Couldn't get too close and the sun was in the wrong position for great photos but it's still a real sight to behold. If you like to see feats of British engineering then it's well worth a visit.

Same as everyone else, I’ve given it 4* instead of 5 purely because it isn’t in operation and appears that it hasn’t been for some time now. Despite this it’s well worth a visit, I didn’t go into the visitors centre there instead I just looked at it and the surrounding buildings of it as well as reading the plaques but I was intrigued. I hope one day they get this up and working but I won’t hold my breath.

Disappointed it was all closed up the day I visited it.

Great place to visit, there is a small centre on site, detailing the history of the bridge. Very interesting to see. I once went to see a relative doing a bungee jump from the bridge, it is a regular event.

The Teeside Transporter Bridge crosses the River Tees at it's lowest point at Middkesborough. When you drive through Middlesborough the blue painted steel structure dominates the skyline. Many people are unaware his a transporter bridge operates so it is worth mentioning that it allows vehicles to drive onto a suspended platform which is then moved across the river using it's suspension cables. There is an informative visitor site next to the bridge and plenty of cheap parking (£1 for 10 hours) close by.

One iconic bridge.With the Gondola that used to go back and forth over the river Tees taking foot pasenger,cars bikes,anything from Stockton to Middlesbrough and return....In the old Days it used to run day and night .Now it's just a museum piece....sad.The two councils involved have let it come to this.

Fantastic piece of engineering, and great that it's still running and used. Would have been nice to do a longer tour, and see the view from the top, but the weather was not on our side. Apart from the weather, the only downside for us was that was nowhere to park our motor-home apart from yellow lines, but staff assured us that wasn't a problem! A little known gem!

Nice spot, especially at night when it's lit up. Real shame it's not operational though

The only reason for a missing * is the bridge is not open, and may not be for a long time. We stopped to take a look at the bridge which I've driven past many times but never stopped for a close look. With the bridge closed, there's a visitor centre and the staff we met clearly loved their job and very knowledgeable.

Well worth the £5 (adult) to get in for a nice walk to the hides and/or around the lake. Free to go in the shop area/ cafe. Plenty of free parking and picnic tables around the areas. Pick a nice day to visit ! Remember to take your binoculars ( or £3 to hire some).

Accessible parking. Accessible cafe and toilets. Staff were helpful and friendly. A few hides. Gift shop. Plenty of picnic benches dotted about. I'd also like to add for those who may not know but may have a disability/additional needs that you are allowed up to 2 carers in with you free of charge.

We took our 3 Yr old granddaughter and she loved it , the adventure playground is fantastic for all ages and very safe , we also used the cafe , again really good , there are lots of walks but we did not do any as our granddaughter did not want to leave the park. Great place for the whole family.

Well worth a visit, plenty of birds of all kinds. Great for the kids as well as adults. Excellent toilets, play park area and sculptures enroute. The paths were a little wet on a February day but you can get round this whole place easily with pushchair /mobility scooter etc. The hides were very plush and in great spots for viewing (wrap up warm if it's cold!!) The usual RSPB quality look shop (with 2nd hand books too!! 😁) Only the cafe was a disappointment - we'd checked the times and rushed back needing a hot drink to find it had closed half an hour early. Not impressed. The cakes looked wonderful too!!

Amazing nature reserve where the RSPB's logo (The Avocet) can be seen. It is a distinctively-patterned black and white wader with a long up-curved beak that was once extinct in the UK. There are lovely walks of different lengths, with great viewing hides, loads for the wee ones to do and the main building has coffee shop and shop with all profits going to help protect our birds. You can see seals sun bathing nearby at Seal sands. The staff and volunteers couldn't have been nicer. Thank you. 👍🏻

Lovely visit. In North East wd never used have RSPB reserve on our doorstep. Saltholme is becoming lovely established wetlands and Reed beds. Right in the heart of Teesides Industrial hub. It's been good while since I was last at Saltholme but now I've got both my daughters in the Junior RSPB as I once was when I was only 10 was nice bring them to explore nature on their doorstep. Good adventure Park yo play in cafe and gift shop. Excellent reserve super facilities.

Visited Saltholme with my husband for the first time yesterday and was well worth the trip! Both of us were fairly new to birdwatching but a friendly volunteer named Beccah was amazing in giving us a rundown of what the RSPB do and more about Saltholme directly. The views were gorgeous and we were easily able to spot and identify many species in the few hours that we were there. Definitely somewhere we will be returning in the future!

We took our two grandsons (1 and 2yrs) and were blessed with the weather. We had a wonderful day in this beautiful haven of tranquility which manages to retain the natural while creating lots for children to do. The kids loved the ‘waterworks’, the animal statues on the route, the play park and everything really … we didn’t want to leave. A special thank you to the lovely volunteers, from the chap in reception, to the lovely lady in the shop who helped me with binoculars and the kindly ladies in the cafe who didn’t mind our toddlers spreading food everywhere! You are a great team. This is a fantastic, accessible, interesting and fun place for all generations. Well run and a real find. Go there, I recommend it

A superb wetland with a great variety of wildlife. Short earred owls were my favourite. We saw two hunting in the middle of the day.

Had a lovely trip with my partner to immerse myself around nature. Pros: - very quiet for area - huge selection of birds and other small mammals to watch - prices entry was very cheap (£5 each for adults) - cute cafe and bookshop within premises - good observing tower with telescope - beautiful scenery for family walks - great seating area for children - great safety for children as bars and ropes are available in case they fall in - stunning gardens with bees and other local insects including dragonflies and monarch butterflies Cons: - price for binoculars was quite high for hire (£7) - some rooms had alot of spider webs and chipping paint. Other than that no other cons and we had an amazing day out

Lovely reserve, we had a great time and the staff were really friendly, a little tricky to get to by public transport: we originally tried to go through Transporter bridge as per Google maps guidance but it was closed :/ but well worth it!

Once again another great RSPB site. Amazing play area for a wide age range of kids. Enough wildlife close up for walkers and if you have a good camera or spotting scope you can see the water birds in the distance. Nice clean toilets . Very friendly staff and full of knowledge. A café is up stairs but we didn't eat in. A nice clean RSPB shop.

Worth seeking out - lots of paths offering a good walk and the occasional bird! Most of the walks are on flat made paths so our fellow visitors included wheelchair users. Well placed hides for those after a longer look at the local wildlife. Very imaginative provision for kids and excellent cafe and shop facilities. You can park and visit the centre with those in for free, and the admission to the reserve itself was very good value for the experience.

Generally a lovely place to visit. Fun for all ages. The park is usually clean and tidy (aside from the odd people that decide to litter!) The play area is good and has some good variety. There is some accessible play equipment also. Ice-cream from the van here is probably the best reason to visit (imho) Try the 99's you won't regret it.

Been going to Stewarts Park since the 60's , disappointing to see that the "Hot House" was removed, a victoriana marvel with exotic flora and forna, don't know what's happened to the museum.... The grounds are superb, trees I recall from the 60's also.... Cooks Café , which is dog friendly have a substantial menu, freshly baked scones (cheese and fruit) lovely tea and coffee. I should go there more often.....

Beautiful spring day with my grandchildren on a lovely well thought out play park. Set in small sections depending on age. Then off to feed the ducks and walk the dogs . Lots of lovely walks on this expance of greenery. There is the James Cook Museum ( The explorer) situated in a modern building also used for community projects. After a long morning we went onto have a picnic although there is a cafe advertised. Wonderful day spent in an inner-city Park but I honestly could of been back home in the middle of sherwood countryside

Excellent park, great play park for the kids, lots of open field to have kick about in. It has some decent walks if you want to get out with your partner. The little cafe inside the park is nice (Henry’s) and the museum is supposed to be okay but I’ve never been in. The park usually gets fair ground attractions through the holidays but it’s cash only.

Great place for a walk, kids play area, animals to see, dogs (careful lots of squirrels!) to run after a ball was fairground rides when we went April school holidays. Captain cook museum, fab cafes and Gardens. Big free car park but soon gets full

Called in for a walk and to see Captain Cook Museum. Large free car park. Pleasant open spaces with kids playground and small zoo (I think). Good tarmac footpaths, clean and litter free. There is a cafe in the same building as the museum which was closed for improvement work but looked worth a visit. The monument from Captain Cooks birthplace house is next to Museum and cafe building. It's well kept and very old.

Great place for kids, has jungle gyms and slides and climbing things. They have a little lake with geese and duck, and there's a cafe there too. Toilets area and the cafe seem to close quite early on a sunday. At 15:40 they were shut. They have huge grounds. There are lots of people and dogs about, and a lot of people walk with their dogs off of leads. I would advise keeping your dog close by, and on a lead, as it's easy for dogs to get lost and with so many people about, someone may think a dog that's not on a lead, has possibly lost its owner, at least I did.

It was an amazing park with lots of playground. Even as an adult we entertained a lot there are plenty of seats available which makes it easier. Love this place and definitely will come back again. We didn’t have a time to get into museum part I would like to come for there again

Lovely big park great for off lead dog walks, plenty of squirrels to chase and muddy puddles to cool down in! Good cafe and of course the museum of captain Cook. Good play are for kids and plenty of free parking. Easily pass an hour or so here just walking the dog.

Captain Cook's birthplace museum. Lots of interesting information and some nice displays. Lighting could be improved as a lot of poatwr8were stuck away in dark corners. Museum only took about 20 minutes to walk through and see all the exhibitions. Beautiful, large park outside with a play area for children, a digital walk showing a few different animals and a nice pond full of seagulls, Moorhens, Coots and a lot of Canada Geese.

Beautiful place, so much to see and do. Great cafe, great facilities. Plenty of parking too. Childrens play area was absolutely covered in litter (Sunday 8am) and we actually felt really bad for the one man having to pick everything up. This litter picking guy however was so friendly, very informative and had a wealth of information about the park and things for us newbies not to miss as well as all the information about Captain Cook which was really interesting. Can wait to come back and explore more.

Attended Nightfall at Stewarts Park and it was fabulous, a lovely walk followed by something to eat, which had plenty of choice for everyone, and a fabulous band playing live music.

This park has everything, we love visiting this park with our own two children but we mostly love this park for its beautiful backdrops for our outdoor sessions in Middlesbrough. Stewart Park is our go-to outdoor location, it has beautiful flowerbeds in the height of summer, stunning tree-lined walks and the fun of feeding the ducks. It is perfect for little ones with toilet amenities, good parking and the cafe is also lovely.

Very well kept park popular with everyone young and old. Lovely shaded wooded areas to keep the dog out of the sun. Cooks cafe for gorgeous Ice cream and homemade cake. I could take my dog in. Ice cream van was at the playground for the children. All parks should be this nice and clean, no dog mess or litter, FREE to park so you spend your money with small business.

It was confusing trying to find the entrance to the right car park as they were not well signposted. The suites were well maintained for the conference and the views of the pitch and stadium through the windows were amazing. I will have to go back and watch a match one day.

Nice stadium, there is parking a mile or so away. Around the ground isn't the best but its Middlesbrough. Facilities were the usual standard nothing special.

Fabulous night at the recent Worley xmas/new year office party, the room was set up in Xmas theme, tree, lights & table decs. Food was excellent Tribute band "other Take That" got the dance floor bouncing, finished with the resident DJ Brian, again fab music. Thanks to all the hospitality team who pulled out all the stops to make a gorgeous evening 🎊

Fairly clean as usual, queues at bar for food and drinks weren't too bad (although it was a friendly so weren't many fans there) Bit of a boring game but that's the Boro for ya. Roll on 23/24 campaign

Great venue for a weekly FITBORO 23 fitness regime. Very informative, instructors are on point and even a visit from MFC footballer with camera crew in tow!

Premier standard stadium. Had it’s own character. Would have been 5 stars but nothing around it for away fans. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit with a 1-0 for Coventry. The home fans created the best home atmosphere I’ve been in as an away fan.

Nice stadium with good views. Catering for wheelchair users. Good concourse with room to enjoy food and drinks available from the caters. Staff were very polite and helpful.

The Arctic monkeys concert was great, shame about no lights at the end so we had to try and get down the stairs in the dark but it was great to go see a great band so local rather than having to travel for hours. Hopefully more next year, be great to get more than 1 gig in the closed season. UP THE BORO

If you’re looking for a great day out, choose from a wide range of options. Buy a ticket as a fan or upgrade and have a wonderful experience, really great meal and entertainment thrown in and great seats. Either way, Middlesbrough offers a great atmosphere and top fans.

A good stadium with decent facilities. Didn’t try the food or beverages on sale as they seemed pricey.

Can tell you much about this place as a chef in one of the concessions. It's a place to be to watch your favourite team play. A place of safety for all. And they have options for the vulnerable coming as well. Then children are not left out for the place.

First time visiting the museum staff very friendly. Went to see the Titanic exhibition, it was a good exhibition very informative also quite sad. Would highly recommend. Visited the cafe it was very quint and had a good atmosphere again the staff were friendly and the food was lovely.

We discovered this little gem of a museum on our trip to Albert Park. The history of Middlesbrough was displayed. There was an amazing room of birds eggs and rare birds. There were fossils and dinosaur displays. There was a display of the local pottery, glassware, fabric and tiles from the designer Christopher Dresser (fascinating). There were also displays of Linthorpe pottery. It was all free too. We all enjoyed it.

Went to do the VR santa sleigh ride which was brilliant, although over too quickly. Found lots of interesting exhibits to look at in the museum as well

Fantastic titanic exhibition. The rest of the museum's exhibitions were outstanding. Brilliant place to come for free and are able to spend a couple of hours here just looking around.

Not been since I was a kid in the 70s early 80s. The bird and egg collection must be one of the best in the country. Was lovely to go back and re-live those days. Its moved on since then and is a fantastic place to visit. Go have a look, you won't be disappointed. Best of all its free!

Amazing room with ducks and eggs. The second floor has beautiful pottery and a room full of crystals and fossils. Very nice ☺️

Didn't real know to much about the history of Middlesbrough and surrounding areas so thought let's give it ago and glad I'm did very interesting place from old to new, the only down side was that there was few loud kids in there that was just running amuck which the staff was trying to kick out, so didn't really catch all of what was been said on the film about the history of it all that was been played in the odeon

Little hidden gem. We have visited specially for the titanic exhibition. What I didn't appreciate is how good the permanent display is. There is a large section for bird enthusiasts and an impressive selection of local pottery. The section on local history is informative for adults and entertaining for children.

I love the Dorman. It's quirky and interesting with plenty to see, set in an absolutely beautiful building. Those little half circle stained glass windows and the taxidermy animals in reception are some of my fave things. (The animals I think have been there since I was a child, so love the nostalgia) I visited a few years back, after having not been since my childhood. I visited again yesterday to see the Titanic exhibition, which cost £6. Yes, the museum is normally free but the £6. (People who complain about paying probably don't appreciate the work that goes into getting such exhibitions set up and on loan, escially on such a huge topic as Titanic, and would probably also complain that there is never anything new to see.) The staff were lovely. Friendly and enthusiastic. Enjoyed the exhibition. Some interesting stuff and the photo and text boards were very informative. Each time I've come I've also visited the Dressers tearoom for cake and coffee. Great service and again a fun interior. Good prices.

Came across this place by chance when visiting the Teesside area. Excellent museum covering local history and more that kept us busy for a fair amount of time. Definitely worth putting on your 'to visit' list if you are in town. If I remember correctly, there was no formal charge for entry just donations, so you really can't go wrong. Nice park just next to it. Only downside is the shortage of car parking but can't be helped.

Visited Titanic Exhibition in museum, tickets available online for reduced rate and very reasonably priced. Museum well presented and staff very helpful. Would recommend.

Love this place. Its nice in its normal state to visit with the kids or family but when the events are on its extra special. We attended this year to go around the museum and take a go on the Christmas VR. My children thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely staff and fair prices. Good gift shop also fair prices
